guys this might be a dumb and obvious question but like…do some of your alters/parts want to be perceived as separate people and some of them really don’t…? like some of them don’t even want names or pronouns and others like to be completely individual and separate.
on sysblr the normalization of alters being separate people is everywhere but i never see people talk about some of their alters not wanting to be separate from the body. idk if any of that makes sense

Me: Can I even really call it trauma, though? It wasn't *that* bad, right? Other kids have definitely been through worse.
The men in my head that my brain created to love and protect me because I couldn't handle my childhood otherwise: 🧍♂️😐

shout out to all the systems that formed from “unusual” trauma or trauma that's never talked about in this community - being bullied, sibling abuse or abuse from someone that's not your parent, near death experience(s), medical abuse, and anything and everything else
you're all valid. the child's brain is incredibly fragile and everyone is traumatized differently. just because your trauma wasn't from a parent, doesn't make you any less valid.
i wish more people spoke about the other sources of trauma

Remember that role labels are descriptive, not prescriptive. You do not have to be nothing but your role. Not every plural has every role, not every headmate who performs a task falls into said role. It’s fine to not use role labels at all, even, or only some headmates to use them. It’s fine to make your own terms if you feel they fit better or just don’t like the more common ones. It’s fine to remain completely unlabeled. Role labels exist as an optional tool, they not define headmates or plurals in their capacity.

Hello, everyone.
Are your days going well? How are you feeling today compared to yesterday, do you know? Well, nonetheless, here's my message to you all, as CDD systems.
— Feeling unreal or as if the world around you is unreal as part of your CDD symptoms is normal.
— Parts not having names and going by their role or characteristics is okay. Eg: The little one. Some parts simply may not want a name; that's okay.
— Sharing your headcounts online is not a necessity, so don't feel bad for not wanting to share this information.
— Be mindful to not share your triggers online; whether negative or positive. Don't feel forced to share triggers in the spaces you may be involved in.
— Not knowing every little detail about yourself is fine and even normal. Don't feel forced to find those details immediately; take your time and work at your own pace.
— Asking for management advice is okay. Asking for help is okay. Struggling is understandable and normal when you have a disorder. You are not a burden for seeking help and/or advice.
— If you feel anger, sadness, and such to high degrees, I'm here to tell you that that's okay. Having trouble understanding 'the why' is okay, and you're not a 'monster' if you get to that breaking point and lash out.
— Try not to compare your system to the systems online. Do you have lots of introjects? That's okay. Do you have only a few? That's okay. None? That's just as okay. Are there only 2 alters in your system? That's okay. 10? 40? That's okay. Are you polyfragmented? That's okay; it doesn't mean your experiences aren't real. OSDD1? P-DID? The same goes there. Your experiences aren't fake just because you may experience less amnesia. Your experiences aren't fake if you experience more amnesia. Your experiences aren't fake if you have amnesia of having amnesia. Your experiences aren't fake if you have more emotional amnesia.
I hope this makes someone's day better!! I added more tags to this post to try to reach more CDD systems.

Reading a paper on DID and I'm still personally on the idea that it should be one diagnosis like DID or DISD (Dissociative Identity Spectrum Disorder) instead of all these seperate diagnoses of DID, OSDD, pDID because amnesia and switches seem to occur more/less the more/less stress you're in and maybe things like if switches or amnesia is present should be included in the description as specifiers or a part of the course features instead.

Venting a little, asking for a bit of advice maybe?
I’m nineteen, and I’ve spent my entire life feeling like I don’t really belong. I don’t fit in any of the spaces I’ve seen. I’m too black, too white, too much of a man, too much of a woman, too much of this and that and x y z… I have osdd1 but my “alters” are just other versions of me. I have bpd but I’m always just me. I feel like I’ve been split since birth, I’ve never been one or the other of anything but I’ve never not been these things either. How do I get to the point where I feel like one single thing?
having alters that are different versions of yourself is very normal, especially in osdd 1!
if it's genuinely uncomfortable and upsetting to feel split up, i can definitely see why. you don't have to be one singular, continuous person if you don't want to. that's not a requirement. but if it's what you want, that's okay. i'm not entirely sure if i can give advice on that, but i would be interested in opening this up to other people with osdd who feel similarly. i know you're not alone

Hello! Please call us Tyler, Dylyn, or TVS. Collectively we use any pronouns. Our main blog is @thevinylshop. Sorry if anything looks weird, we've never done a blog like this before.
Information below the cut.
What is this blog about?
Well, we aim to be a place where people—both alters and singlets—can share any positive thoughts they have to an alter, several alters, or a whole system. It can be from an alter in the same system, one from another system, or a singlet. We'll even accept an alter or system's appreciation post to a singlet!
Who can send asks?
We are personally anti-endogenic and would very much prefer for endos and endo supporters to please DNI. We also ask for problematic shippers, radqueers, transIDs, radfems/TERFs, disordered abuse believers (e.g. "narc abuse"), science disbelievers, and basic DNI to, well, DNI. Thank you!
What should I avoid?
It's asked to avoid graphic talk of anything potentially triggering, but feel free to send it in WITH A TRIGGER WARNING at the top, and we can deem if it's appropriate or not.
If an ask contains triggering content and we do accept it, we will tag the trigger warning in the tags AND the main message.
When will my submission be posted?
Typically we will go through all submissions once we gain the energy to, which is often anywhere from a week to a month. Please note that we usually will go through all posts in one sitting, unless the numbers are obscene, which we will instead close asks until every single one is gone through.
All in all, we aim to be a place where people can send anonymous (or public) appreciation to a system or an alter. If you have any questions, feel free to send us an ask or dm, or our main account (@thevinylshop) one.
——————
Anonymous Tag Claims
——————
#alter.appreciation = Posts of alter/system appreciation.
#aa.txt = Posts not having to do with alter appreciation, such as this one.
#tvs.appreciation = Appreciation posts made by us!
#aa.reblog = If we reblog anything, it'll be tagged with this.
#aa.important = Updates, announcements, etcetera.
#<emoji>.appreciation = appreciation posts made by someone with an anonymous tag claim.
#<name>.appreciation = appreciation posts made by non-anonymous users where we tag by their username. note that we do not include hyphens (-) when tagging.
#anonymous.appreciation = appreciation posts made by anonymous, both signed and unsigned.

Thinking alters/different personality states were just mood swings is honestly so funny to me, like "yeah, my mood swings have different political believes and hobbys, but whatever"

A plural existing is not bad rep. A plural physically cannot be bad representation of plurality. We are not media to be consumed, and we should not be expected to make ourselves palatable to singletons

Things that I experience daily that you may do too, and I'm just here to say that it's okay. You're not alone.
-> “I know who I am, so I must have been faking the entire time before.” I am here to tell you that feeling fake because today has been a better day is normal when you have such symptoms. If anything, I have always viewed ‘feeling fake’ as a way for me to say that I am genuinely having these struggles, because to me, I know that feeling denial in symptoms of any disorder can very much come with the territory.
-> “I'm not real/the world isn't real.” One of my main sets of symptoms that I can occasionally recognise is this very thing. This very feeling that I am unreal or the people around me aren't and so fourth. I'm here to tell you that DPDR (depersonalisation derealization) is a very strong symptom (and can be a disorder in itself).
-> “My life is a movie and I'm not even the main character.” This again is something I feel due to DPDR. It's this out of body feeling; like you're watching your own life but from ‘behind a TV screen’. I also feel like <for me>, that I'm like a ghost watching the ‘mortal realm’. This probably isn't the best way to describe it, but I have said it like this a handful of times.
-> “That isn't my name, but I'll go along with it anyway.” I'm so used to being called different names from my own; the name I assign myself as a part. It can be very strange, but very nice when my close friends call me by my name instead of the one assigned to ‘the body’.
-> “Why don't I remember that when it happened today?” Amnesia can be daily. You can forget what you did an hour ago. You can forget the last few days. You can forget weeks, months, years of your life. I don't often see people talk about daily amnesia, so I wish to acknowledge it since I'm aware that I experience it. It can be very daunting; scary, even.
-> “Why am I crying?” Sometimes I just cry for seemingly no reason. However, I feel since emotions can come and go sometimes due to passive influence, it's likely due to that. Alters can be stuck in the past and can believe they're still unsafe, even if they are safe. Sometimes, those parts need reassurance and help being brought ‘to the now’, which obviously isn't exactly easy. The worst experience of this is when I can hear a little crying, and I can't reach them. It's heartbreaking.
This is all I have for today. My brain is blanking on my other experiences that I could share, so if you'd like to share your own experiences, feel free to.

why does it feel so weird to post in traumagenic system tags when you're pro endo. like I AM a traumagenic system, I have OSDD, a very classic presentation with a lot of trauma, all that's different is that I don't hate endos. why do I feel so scared of interacting with the rest of my kind. rather, why has my kind scared me away from associating with them because I don't hate an innocent group of people
reminder to myself and everyone else that being a pro endo osddid system doesn't forbid you from posting about being an osddid system. anybody who disagrees is just an asshole. solidarity is key in healing and feeling good about your disorder 👍
I CANT BELIEVE I HAVE TO SAY THIS, BUT IF YOU HATE ENDOS THIS POST IS ABOUT HOW I CANT STAND YOU. PLEASE LEAVE ME ALONE. WHY ARE YOU ASSHOLES INCAPABLE OF MINDING YOUR OWN FUCKING BUSINESS
