[ ASK GAME ] || (I'm pretty sure you meant the para relationship ask game lol) Funnily enough Neil & Ozzie WERE the last paras I daydreamed about!! They were doing kinky sex while I was working and uhm I think Neil might be ace?? We'll get back to that at some point. But I'm also gonna do Alice from @fractured-fables since I drew her earlier & also Emory bc there's now a sign at work that looks SO MUCH LIKE HIM it makes me loose my mind.

1.) What’s their relationship with their parents like? Is there one parent they’re closer too than the other? If your was raised by a different caretaker, what is their relationship like, and how does your para feel about the absence of their parents in their life?

Neil: Technically doesn't have parents as he was treated as an experiment since the minute he was born. However, his father was a scientist at Arcaynis (the organization that's experimenting on people). He willingly subjected his own son to horrific experiments, but thankfully(??) Neil didn't know this. He doesn't really have any parental figures, and kinda wished he did. Maybe he wouldn't be so fucked up if someone held him a little bit as a kid.

Ozzie: His father was very abusive, but thankfully his momma was always ready to defend him. He is a very big momma's boy and yknow, I think they still talk sometimes. He probably sent her some of the money he stole when he was a villain.

Alice: Does not get along with her parents. Well. Its complicated. She loves them, they love her, but they don't really "get" her, if you catch my drift?? Objectively speaking, they're fine parents, just probably not the best for Alice. HOWEVER, Phineas becomes like her second dad/uncle/older brother figure in Wonderland, and those two understand each other SO WELL. Funnily enough, they actually hated each other when they first met! Both for good reasons but nowadays you'd never know. Also did you know some people ship Alice & Hatter romantically??? They are Wrong. So very wrong thats her dad!!!

Emory: His "backstory" gives him parents, but they're also dead and desperately need to be buried bc they're rotting corpses are stinking up the house. He doesn't really consider them his "parents", anyway. Technically, he doesn't have any, and he's perfectly fine with that. Still, Theia likes to call him her son sometimes which is kinda funny so he allows it and humors her by occasionally referring to her as his mother.

4.) Who was your para’s childhood best friend? When and how did they meet? Are they still friends?

Neil: Dahlia!! She was the daughter of another scientist at Arcaynis, but not an experiment. Neil loved her, she was quite literally the ONLY good thing in his life. Dahlia wasn't supposed to sneak into wherever Neil was being kept, but she was curious. And stubborn, because she kept coming back almost every day! Eventually, she was encouraged to interact with Neil to observe how he reacted to certain stimuli. Unfortunately, he accidentally killed her while he was escaping Arcaynis. He often wonders what it'd be like if she lived — would she be proud? He almost idolizes and romanticizes her/her existence. It's kinda creepy.

Ozzie: Ozzie was a very shy, soft spoken, and introverted kid. He was bullied a lot for being a teachers pet / being smart. It was rough, but Nora Osborn took pity on him and helped Ozzie gain some confidence during high school! I have not introduced her yet (bc I. keep forgetting to) but Nora is Ozzie's wife! Canonically she had roughly 8 minutes of screen time and died but I haven't fully decided on what I wanna do with her in MaaC yet. But she does exist, and Ozzie loves her dearly.

Alice: Her best friends are Dorothy and Wendy!!! They've been bffs for varying years, but all met during early childhood. I think they all just met on the playground one day, yknow how little kids are lol. And yes, they're still friends today! I call them the "iskeai girls" bc they all get transported to other worlds lol.

Emory: OK so technically Emory never had a "childhood", he's an ageless being that sort of just...exists. but uhm I guess we can say Ketrill?? Ketrill was created by Theia so they spent a lot of time together. They're kinda like brothers.

18.) How important are your para’s various relationships to them? Do they cherish the people closest to them? Does their support system keep them going? How about strangers? What are their feelings about humanity as a whole? Is it easier for them to live those closest to them vs humanity as a whole?

Neil: EXTREMELY IMPORTANT. He has never had friends/family/ANYTHING before escaping Arcaynis, so he'll cling to anything he can stick his claws in. He learns to balance different relationships (as well as the types of relationships) as time goes on with the help of those around him, but by GOD was he, uh, a bit of an obsessive stalker towards practically anyone he met the first few years of living in society. As for humanity? It sucks. Shut that shit down.

Ozzie: Oohh, he's a sappy mother motherfucker that loves his friends and probably believed in the power of friendship when he was younger (he still kinda does sshhh). He has mixed views on humanity but like, he's human too so he doesn't want it totally gone.

Alice: Depends on the person tbh. Earth? Forget them tbh. Wonderland? THAT'S HER FAMILY!!! Yes all of Wonderland is her family now lol that's her HOME. She loves it there and genuinely considers it her home, she'd live there always if given the option. She thinks humanity on earth sucks but Wonderlandians got smth going on trust her on that.

Emory: So looking at it now I think Emory is only close to like, 5 people total. That's it. I don't know if he'd consider them a "friend group" or a "support system" but he does care for them, which is saying something, as he doesn't really get close to people. I don't think he really has an opinion on humanity. Like it exists. That's it. He doesn't really...care??

19.) How does your para realize they care about someone? Is it instantaneous, or a slow realization? Are they dense, or maybe realize once it’s too late that there was something there?

Neil: He's...a little dense. To everyone else, it's so fucking obviously because he's trailing after the person like a lost puppy and is borderline obsessed with them. But he probably won't realize how much they mean until someone either points it out or he looses that person.

Ozzie: It creeps up on him. He knows he cares about someone, its the level/extent of it that surprises him! Like he thought Neil was just a good ally/coworker until something innocuous happened, like maybe he saw the other sleeping and then BAM! Head over heels in love. Incredible, really.

Alice: I feel like Alice is similar to Ozzie, she knows she cares about those around her, I guess sometimes she just forgets HOW much she cares. Or sometimes its hard to care, with all the shit they've been through/have going on. She tries her best to make sure those she loves feel appreciated, though.

Emory: Imma be honest...he doesn't get "close" to people. He's an Interdimensional Demonic Cat, The Librarian. He records everything, narrates all of it. So getting close to those he is observing...he doesn't like it. He was close to Delilah, and she died. He was a little too involved with False Moon, and they're pretty traumatized. By FF/LIW he's kinda keeping his distance. Anyway! He knows pretty quickly when he genuinely cares about someone and not solely because he wants the "story" to continue. And he will deny it until the end of time, because God forbid a kitty experience love!!

20.) How does your para expresses their feelings of care/love to others? What’s their love language (giving and receiving!)

Neil: Gift giving!! He gives very weird gifts, though. Honestly he's kinda like a cat bringing its owner dead animals?? Like uh thanks buddy but what am I supposed to do with this exactly. He very much likes receiving physical contact. Hold him. Please.

Ozzie: Quality time!! He likes taking people out to museums and aquariums, those type of places, and seeing what they point out. He also likes receiving quality time. Literally all you gotta do is exist in the same room as him he is so easy to please.

Alice: Acts of service!! She'll get your groceries! She'll paint your roses! She'll die for you! Literally!! She likes receiving words of affirmation. Tell her she's doing good. Please. Don't actually she'll break down and sob.

Emory: Physical contact. I feel like that's a typical/standard cat answer. Yes he does express love like an actual cat would. He likes receiving quality time. Just spend some time in his library, he'll appreciate it a lot.

Spider-Bat Rogues Gallery

So, I really enjoy the Spider-Bat AU where Batman and Spider-Man are combined. Though, some are more obvious than others and not that creative.

Joker + Goblin = Mischief

Probably the least creative combo since they're like the main nemesis of each. But it makes for an interesting villain since the two would parallel so well.

Both Mischief and Spider-Bat's civilian identities could be the richest people in Gotham. However, Mischief wants to use the corruption to his advantage while Spider-Bat wants to clean it up. Both use their wealth to create high tech equipment for their alter egos.

To make things interesting, I like to picture Mischief starting out as a normal person that relies on tech while searching for a way to grow as strong as Spider-Bat, while Spider-Bat trains in martial arts to become more skilled at using their powers.

Penguin + Kingpin = Emperor Penguin

This one is another pretty obvious one. But I couldn't help but mix these two together because my mind keeps flashing back to The Batman's version of Penguin who could fight. Plus, their origins mix pretty well.

Two Face + Venom = Madness

This one I'm not sure is as obvious. It could be, given Harvey's connection to Batman being similar to Eddie Brock's in Spectacular Spider-Man. I love the idea of three 'minds' fighting inside one body for control. Maybe the Symbiote can also be the thing that keeps them on track.

Plus, it could be an interesting story. One side of Two Face wants to protect Spider-Bat after Venom reveals their identity to him. The other is filled with resentment for Spider-Bat not saving them.

Scarecrow + Vulture = Murder

Another possibly more obvious one. I like to imagine Murder being a business owner who was betrayed and decides to use his engineering and psychology degrees to create a villain persona to show people what happens when you push someone too far.

Their suit would probably have a cropdusting-theme where they can drop fear gas as they fly. Like their old lego plane.

Riddler + Kraven = Challenge

Challenge is someone who has always been gifted both mentally and physically. The best minds and the mightiest beasts had trouble keeping up with them. So, they grew bored. When they heard about Spider-Bat, they saw someone and possibly the only person who could give them a worthy challenge. They'll test the hero's mind with riddles and questions, while testing them physically through combat.

Legitimate Question Concerning Spider Man and Sam Beckett

So, I’m on break right now, and I feel inquisitive:

Let’s imagine a hypothetical crossover between Quantum Leap and Spider-Man. The leap in question, of course (because God just seems to hate Sam and Peter), sees Sam leaping into the day of this little number:

(As an aside, ignoring that “floating timeline of comics” shit, I recently worked on that Gwen’s death occurred on November 23rd [I read the following comics, took notes of when they mentioned the time, and worked backward]; for this hypothetical, I’m saying the date is November 23rd, 1972.)

As such, regardless of the real reason Sam were to leap into this situation (and also factoring in that sometimes, Sam leaps into the absolute worst person for a given situation):

Oswald Spengler et « la nausée des machines ».

Spengler publie son Homme et la technique en 1931. C’est le premier livre que j’ai lu de lui, en 1979, et celui qui m’a le plus marqué : le plus froid, le plus crépusculaire, le plus étincelant dans sa brièveté. Spengler y définit la « tragédie faustienne » : l’homme occidental est finalement vaincu par son industrie, ses sources d’énergie et sa techno-dépendance. A l’heure de la pénurie, du Grand Reset et du grand contrôle informatique planétaire (qui concerne Occident, Chine, Russie, Inde, Brésil et tout le reste), son livre reste une perle, au moins comparable au Règne de la quantité du Maître.

Répétons aussi les deux grandes phrases d’un livre époustouflant de Drieu :

« Tous se promènent satisfaits dans cet enfer incroyable, cette illusion énorme, cet univers de camelote qui est le monde moderne où bientôt plus une lueur spirituelle ne pénétrera… »

« Il n'y a plus de partis dans les classes plus de classes dans les nations, et demain il n'y aura plus de nations, plus rien qu'une immense chose inconsciente, uniforme et obscure, la civilisation mondiale, de modèle européen. »

C’est le dernier chapitre intitulé le Dernier acte qui m’intéresse. Spengler rappelle presque ironiquement les sources de la surpuissance du blanc devenu fétu de paille depuis :

« Les peuples germaniques, en particulier, sont assurés d'un quasi-monopole des gisements de charbon existants, ou en tout cas connus, ce qui les a conduits à une multiplication de leurs populations, sans égale dans l’'histoire. »

Mais la grande transformation a lieu, celle de Polanyi souvent pas si éloigné de Guénon et de Spengler :

« Au-dessus du charbon, et aux carrefours principaux des lignes de communication qui rayonnent à partir de là, est entassée une masse humaine de proportions monstrueuses, enfantée par la technique machiniste, travaillant pour elle et tirant d'elle ses moyens d'existence… »

La supériorité en charbon nourrit le colonialisme et le racisme qu’Hitler appliquera à d’autres blancs (les Russes ou les Ukrainiens, toujours aussi menacés par le capital occidental d’ailleurs) :

« Aux autres peuples que ce soit sous la forme de colonies ou d'États nominalement indépendants est dévolu le rôle de fournir les matières premières et de consommer les produits finis. »

Spengler rappelle la DESTRUCTION DE TOUT par l’ère industrielle :

« La MÉCANISATION DU MONDE est entrée dans une phase d'hypertension périlleuse à l'extrême. La face même de la Terre, avec ses plantes, ses animaux et ses hommes, n'est plus la même. En quelques décennies à peine la plupart des grandes forêts ont disparu, volatilisées en papier journal, et des changements climatériques ont été amorcés ainsi, mettant en péril l'économie rurale de populations tout entières. D'innombrables espèces animales se sont éteintes, ou à peu près, comme le bison, par le fait de l'homme; et des races humaines entières ont été systématiquement exterminées jusqu'à presque l’extinction totale, tels les Indiens de l'Amérique du Nord ou les aborigènes d'Australie. »

L’idée que la forêt a disparu par la faute du journalisme et de la presse abrutissante est fascinante tout de même. Le traducteur Petrowsky cite un livre d’un proche de Madison Grant, Fairfield Osborn, sur le pillage de la planète et la destruction, voire l’anéantissement de tous les paysages traditionnels. On n’est pas très loin de Savitri Devi ou d’Alexis Carrel. D’ailleurs Spengler écrit, toujours dans le Dernier acte de son œuvre :

« Nous sommes incapables de contempler le bétail paissant dans les champs, sans qu'il nous fasse penser à l'idée de son rendement pour la boucherie. Nous ne savons plus admirer la beauté des ouvrages faits à la main par les peuples encore simples, sans vouloir immédiatement leur substituer des procédés techniques modernes. Notre pensée technique DOIT ABSOLUMENT Se réaliser dans la pratique, judicieusement ou absurdement. »

Il remarque qu’en poussant à l’aberration le développement technique, l’homme touche à l’absurde (le progrès contre-productif !) :

« Cette machine commence d'ailleurs à être, sur bien des plans, en contradiction avec la pratique économique : les signes avant-coureurs de leur divorce apparaissent déjà partout. Par sa multiplication et son raffinement toujours plus poussés, la machine finit par aller à l'encontre du but proposé. Dans les grandes agglomérations urbaines, l'automobile, par sa prolifération même, a réduit sa propre valeur : l'on se déplace plus vite à pied qu’en voiture. »

Et c’est là qu’intervient la nausée des machines, prélude au penchant suicidaire décrit par des esprits aussi proches (et différents) que Gheorghiu, Daniélou ou Bruckberger :

« Mais, durant ces dernières dizaines d'années, il est clair que cet état des choses change dans tous les pays où l'industrie à grande échelle est établie de longue date. La pensée Faustienne commence à ressentir la nausée des machines. »

Si Bernanos voit une soumission aux machines devenues folles dans sa France contre les robots, Spengler pressent une nausée qui va accompagner le regain écologiste de l’après-guerre (lui-même meut en 1936, qu’aurait-dit ou écrit vingt plus tard ?) :

« Une lassitude se propage, une sorte de pacifisme dans la lutte contre la Nature. Des hommes retournent vers des modes de vie plus simples et plus proches d'elle; ils consacrent leur temps aux sports plutôt qu'aux expériences techniques… Les grandes cités leurs deviennent odieuses et ils aspirent à s'évader de l'oppression écrasante des faits sans âme, de l'atmosphère rigide et glaciale de l'organisation technique. »

L’écologie a depuis vendu son âme à l’informatique et à sa gouvernance globaliste…

Edgar Poe écrivait :

Dégoûtés de la vie, les hommes fuient la civilisation et cherchent refuge dans des pays où subsistent une vie et des conditions primitives, dans le vagabondage, dans le suicide. »

Mais si le blanc peut se payer le luxe de l’écologie et du rejet des machines (encore que…) il n’en est pas de même des autres peuples qui souhaitent à leur tour décrocher la timbale du progrès :

« Du coup, les «indigènes » purent pénétrer rapidement nos secrets; ils les comprirent, les utilisèrent à plein rendement. Autre prédiction légèrement apocalyptique et mélodramatique :

Sur les prédictions je persiste : personne ne s’est moins trompé que l’australien Charles Pearson. Il a vu comme Nietzsche arriver sur le monde et se maintenir solidement. Il a écrit qu’au fardeau de l’homme blanc sauce Kipling succédait celui de la personnalité (National Life and Character, III). Les autres, même (surtout en fait) des génies comme Spengler, ont une tendance à la grandiloquence tragique-historique :

[ ASK GAME] || Last 3 paras I daydreamed about were Ozzie, Neil, and a few canon characters from their source that don't have para/maac equivalents yet (save for maaybbee Lucky Moth & Arachne). SO I'm gonna force Emory to answer these as well! (/j he's being nice today lol)

1.) What’s your name? Pronouns?

Emory: My name is Emory. I don't really care about pronouns, but [Luka] uses he/him for me.

Ozzie: Dr. Oswald Octavius, but most people call me "Ozzie", and I encourage you to do the same! My pronouns are he/him.

Neil: Oh I have a name. A human name. A totally normal, believable human name. That I will share now! ....N...Neil...? Yes, that's it. My totally normal and legal human name, that is definitely in any name-finding systems you may or may not have. My pronouns are....uh. None of your business (he doesn't know what they are, I use he/him but tbh I doubt he'd care what you'd use).

2.) What’s your gender and sexuality?

Emory: Being an...interdimensional being, I don't exactly have either of those. The sexuality that describes me best is asexual I believe. I feel no attraction to anything. Gender? I am a cat. Cats don't have gender.

Ozzie: I'm a cis, bisexual male.

Neil: People have tried explaining "gender" to me and I still don't get it. I have sex with Ozzie. Is that anything?

3.) How would you describe your aesthetic?

Emory. Libraries. Old books. Cats, naturally.

Ozzie: Oh let's see...lab coats, octopuses, robots, turtlenecks, am I doing this right?

Neil: Teeth. Claws. Sports? Is it supposed to be things we like? Then Ozzie. Fighting. Food, but specifically ice cream and doughnuts.

4.) What are your hobbies?

Emory: Reading, traversing the different paracosms/dimensions, watching [Luka]'s life play out.

Ozzie: Well, I mostly try to take care of my actuators, they're quite a handful! But I also like to read, I've taken up knitting recently! I will admit, most of my time nowadays is spent teaching Neil how society works.

Neil: Eating, sleeping, fighting. I used to fight Lucky Moth as a hobby, but that was less of a "hobby" and more of a "job". But now I help him fight crime! That's definitely a hobby, I don't do it all the time. I dunno. I'm pretty active in general, so I've tried just about every outdoor activity there is.

5.) How old are you? (Can be as vague or specific as you feel comfortable!) Does your age change at all? If so, which age are you most frequently? Do you “act your age”?

Emory: Hm. Old. I consider myself ageless. There is a version of me in Phantasmagoria that was portrayed as 19, though that happened long ago and

(Ozzie doesn't have a determined age yet, somewhere around 45-51?? His FC is 70 which. damn Alfred Molina is still hot af.)

Neil: I. I don't know...Somewhere around Ozzie's age, I guess? An adult?? I'm told I'm like a toddler sometimes.

6.) What’s the name of your paracosm/source (if applicable)? How would you describe your paracosm/source? (Can be a physical description or like a summary of the plot!)

Ozzie & Neil are the Spiderman villains Doc Ock & Green Goblin respectively. They're my own personal take on the characters, namely wanting to see different variants of them like we saw different spiderpeople in Spiderverse. A lot of their characterizations take inspo from the live action Spiderman films — the ones that star Tobey Maguire & Andrew Garfield. Their subcosm/volume name in MaaC is "A Plague of Octopuses", because Neil's alias is Plague & Ozzie is, well, octopus themed.

Emory: My "source"? Let's see. I was always "part" of Phantasmagoria, though it isn't exactly my "home". I consider that the now defunct paracosm "At the Graveyard", [Luka]'s old Creepypasta paracosm. That is where my backstory technically originates from. Phantasmagoria is like living in a video game. At the Graveyard was mainly about Slenderman hiring a Seer/Medium/one who could see ghosts to deal with the ghost problem. I never had a problem with the various ghosts there, but that might be because I'm a cat and ask for things nicely.

7.) Do/Did you consider yourself a veritbond?

Emory: yes.

(the other two are regular paras so. they cannot answer this question. personally, I don't consider them as such.)

8.) Are/Were you a primpara (“original character”), a fictpara (para from a show/movie/game/book/comic/etc), a fictpara (someone the host/daydreamer knew or knew of IRL/thisverse), or somewhere in between?

Ozzie & Neil are fictparas! Technically. I've definitely put way to many headcanons & aus into them at this point (even tho it's been...like 5 days lmao someone help them). So like most of my "fictparas", they're actually a horrible mix of prim/fictpara lol.

Emory is a primpara, but based/inspired by a number of fictional talking cats (Cheshire, Binx from Hocus Pocus, The Cat from Coraline, Salem the Cat), however his main inspo was all the different Stan Lee cameos the MCU had. I wanted something like that for Phantasmagoria, a character that was somehow always there, yknow? Anyway. I have a draft of Emory’s opinions on those kitties that I keep forgetting to post.

9.) Are/Were you a parame (“main character”)? If not, do you know the parame?

Emory: I keep watch over everything happening, so I find myself in close proximity to the ever-changing parames. Neil seems to be the current parame that's getting focus, though unfortunately I haven't gotten a chance to met him in-paracosm yet.

10.) Are/Were you a paraself (“self insert”)? If not, do you know the paraself?

Emory: Do I know the — I wish I could say I didn't. Vincent has caused a great deal of trouble — especially as Entropy. Though I'll admit, Calypso is more tolerable, if I had to choose out of the two.

12.) What is your level of awareness when it comes to daydreams? Are you aware of other paracosms? Can you access them or are they unreachable to you?

Emory: The Daydreams are like a play for me, almost. I have my "role" that I fufil to the best of my ability. I can access everything there is, whenever I wish to. Very useful for when I don't want to be part of a current situation.

13.) Do you have any control over a paracosms, paras, or daydreaming? Do you have any control over yourself in daydreams?

Emory: I can block off paracosms if I wish. I don't do it very often because [Luka] is a toddler that needs to be entertained 24/7.

18.) Do you interact with the MaDD or ID community at all? Why or why not?

Emory: I've managed to convince [Luka] to set up a blog for me on here. They've gotten as far as typing a pinned post and saving a few drafts. Both of us go back and forth on doing so. For me, it doesn't really matter. I just want something to resemble my library, and if I can get it through a measly little blog, then fine. I can't control [Luka]'s body, just ask them nicely to type things for me (as they are so generously doing now), so there isn't much that can be done if they don't want to do something.

Venom Blot AU

An AU where, after sealing the Shadow Blot in the jug, Oswald isolates himself on Mickeyjunk Mountain because a good portion of the Blot has merged with him, effectively turning him into Venom in the process, hence the name.

This is inspired by early concepts for Epic Mickey, where Oswald was the game's main villain and willingly fused with the Shadow Blot to create the Storm Blot to destroy Mickey. Here, however, Oswald is the Venom Blot's unwitting host in a similar fashion to Harry Osborn and the Venom symbiote from Marvel's Spider-Man 2, where the VB feeds on Oswald's insecurities and tells him that the only way to escape Wasteland is to kill Mickey and steal his Heart.

However, VB is also slowly draining Oswald of his paint through their continued merger and will soon make him inert as one final middle finger to the Lucky Rabbit after destroying his kingdom and turning Ortensia into a statue. After that, VB plans to make Mickey his new host and turn him into Scrapper Mickey, also from early game concepts.

After Mickey and Oswald fight each other a few times while Oswald is under VB's control, Mickey finally learns what Oswald is going through after revealing that he caused the Thinner Disaster and is told that the only way to stop the Venom Blot is to use Thinner on him, which will potentially kill Oswald in the process. Ultimately, the VB successfully drains Oswald of all his paint and leaves his former host inert before running off to free the rest of the real Blot. Now Mickey must find a way to restore Oswald to normal, unaware that VB has left a little bit of himself to attach to the bits of the Blot that Mickey absorbed upon entering Wasteland.

ANOTHER AU!? I know what you're saying... Gwen, you're nuts. But not only are you absolutely right, I think this one might be my most ambitious one yet. As a young nerd, there were two groups. The Marvel fans and the DC fans. And while the rivalry certainly has calmed down a bit, I was almost always torn. So, earlier in the week, I decided to do the one thing that every fanfic writer has tried at least once.
