Spoiler took her cue about five minutes after Batman left for the Watchtower to ride into the Cave. The heroes were with Robin by the display of their costumes, paying special respect to Jason's memorial. She made sure to rev the engine of her bike further down the tunnel to announce her arrival.

"Spoiler," Robin greeted her after she'd parked and pulled off her helmet. "These are some of the heroes in the Justice League. They were invited by Batman and Nightwing to come see the Cave."

Spoiler grinned widely at the group, "Hey! Nice to meet you all, I'm Spoiler." She'd never met the group during her few months as Robin, but her suit sta proudly between Tim's and Damian's.

"We weren't aware that there was another hero working in Gotham," Martian Manhunter nodded to her in greeting.

She gasped, her right hand moving do sit directly on the purple bat on her chest. "There are heroes operating in Gotham?" At the confused looks from the group, she cackled and dropped her hand to sit on her hip, leaning her weight more onto her left foot. "We're vigilantes in Gotham. We work outside the law, not alongside it."

"But, Batman-"

"-works with the law when working with the Justice League," Robin cut Cyborg off, successfully pulling everyone's attention to him.

As soon as their eyes were off of her, Cass switched out with her. It was seamless. SpoilerBat (Cass as Spoiler) emerged from her place in the darkest shadows of the Batplane, tapping Spoiler on the shoulder and pointing to the training room. She caught Robin's eye as Spoiler left, nodding and using the LoA signs to tell him the switch was done.

Robin nodded and continued his explanation of the displays, not naming anyone. "Batman's suits are all lined up on the upper tier. He improves them based on his needs and the changes of technology he has at his disposal, resulting in the nine suits you see, as well as the tenth that he's currently wearing. Robin's and Batgirl's suits are lined upon the middle tier. From left to right we have Robin 1, Batgirl 1, Robin 2," He didn't mention that this one was obviously a memorial. "Batgirl 2, Robin 3, Robin 4, Batgirl 3, Batgirl 4, Robin 5.1, Robin 5.2, Robin 5.3, Robin 5.4, and Robin 5.5." He adjusted his stance as SpoilerBat came to stand next to him.

"The lower tier are suits for others in Gotham," she explained, expertly ignoring the whispers about her being a different person a few minutes ago, "Same order: Discowing, Nightwing 1, Nightwing 2, Nightwing 3, Nightwing 4, Redwing, and Nightwing 5." she pointed as she named them, skipping over all five of Jason's suits, as well as the sixth empty one for his current costume, "Red Robin 0, Red Robin 1, Red Robin 2, Red Robin 3, Red Robin, 4, Drake, Red Robin 5, Spoiler, Black Bat, Orphan, Signal." Of the named suits, four suits were missing; Nightwing 5, Red Robin 5, Robin 5.5, and Spoiler.

Because the stealth suits were made specifically to be stealthy, they were never displayed in the open. Instead, they were kept in the locker rooms. No one who didn't know they had them knew any of them were even missing.

"Why are there so many?" Superman wondered.

"We all operate out of the Batcave." Robin stated as though it were obvious, "Our costumes change as we need them to."

"So," Flash began, getting close to the displays but no touching them, "Who all shares costumes? Or do they all belong to different people?"

Robin and SpoilerBat shared a quick look, neither wanting to explain. Let them think what they want. Skewing the numbers via omission will only help their plans along, as well as work to keep their identities.

Moving on, Robin told of how the penny and the dinosaur had come to be in the Cave. He warned to keep away from the edges because of the chasm.

"Chasm?" Aquaman had a smirk on his face, "Why do you need a chasm?"

"To keep the dragons." Robin said. he and SpoilerBat led the way to the garage. "The platform the Batplane rises and lowers as needed. The area above it is a door that can only be opened via remote in the plane itself or via command on the Batcomputer. Over there is the garage. The Batmobile, the Batcycle, the Wingcycle, Ricochet, the Redbird, the Batpod, the Spoilermobile, and Spoiler's motorcycle. Honestly, he turned to SpoilerBat, speaking to Spoiler, "You still haven't named your motorcycle?"

SpoilerBat shrugged.

Green Arrow took his time to look over every present vehicle. "Impressive. None of these are mainstream."

"That's because they're all custom made." Robin preened.

"Really?" Flash asked, bouncing like an excited puppy, "Which one's yours, little man?"

Robin scowled, but didn't address the name. "The Batcycle is the one I am permitted to use. Although, Batman has given his consent for me to drive the Batmobile in case of emergencies."

Cyborg was looking over Ricochet, Red Hood's bike, closely. "This doesn't look like any of the others."

"How do you mean?" SpoilerBat tilted her head slightly to the right.

"It's got the obvious base of a Harley Davidson," he pointed out, "It's also a lot less tech focused than the others."

"The second Robin build that bike from scratch," Robin said shortly, "Do not touch it."

"Right, sorry."

SpoilerBat decided to lead the way to the training area. Robin followed behind the group.

The training area was a clump of four offshoots from the main area of the lower level of the Batcave. The widest area was full of standard gym equipment. In the offshoot to the left was a taller cavern full of gymnastics equipment. The offshoot to the right was weapons training. The offshoot directly across from the main area was for sparring matches on mats or in the ring.

Wonder Woman regarded the gymnastics set up with a keen eye. "You all are trained, yes?" SpoilerBat nodded. "Can we see a routine?"

"Sure," SpoilerBat said. She stepped up to the starting point of the obstical course they had yet to take down from last week. Taking a deep breath, she began. About halfway through, she was out of the heroes' sight long enough to land in the rafters that Duke, Tim, and Steph and occupied temporarily. When she landed, Steph jumped down to continue the routine as Spoiler.

Having finished the routine, Spoiler landed, breathed again, and then jogged to rejoin Robin and the Justice League. A minute nod from the littlest bat let her know that the visiting heroes didn't see the switch. "So, what'dya think?"

Green Lantern did a double take. After a few false starts, he finally managed, "Are-are you a different person?"

Spoiler tilted her head to the right in a perfect imitation of Cass. "What're ya talking about? I'm the same me you met!"

Green Lantern didn't say anything more, choosing instead to follow the others as they explored the sparring mats and the weapons room.

Green Arrow and Martian Manhunter were the ones to take the most interest in this room. The wall on either side of the opening was dedicated to storing all kinds of weapons. The left side of the wall directly opposite the opening was a shooting range for all kinds of ranged weapons. The rest of the room housed training dummies.

"Let me guess," Aquaman admired the shorter ranged weapons, "You all forged these on your own, as well?"

Robin scoffed and crossed his arms. "Of course not. The swords were gifted to me by the finest of swordsmiths. The daggers as well."

"Yeah," Spoiler nodded along, "The only ones we actually produced are the Bird and Batarangs."

"Where do you get the materials?" Martian Manhunter inquired, holding one of the Batarangs to the light.

"There wasn't always a chasm." Red Robin said from where Robin had been standing. The Justice League heroes all whipped to look at him, dropping into ready stances. Red Robin held his hands up but didn't flinch or move back otherwise. "Whoa there, calm down. What spooked ya."

"Where's Robin?" Superman demanded.

Red Robin and Spoiler looked at each other. "What'd ya mean?" she asked, "He's right here."

"No," Flash looked between the two, around the room, and then back to Red Robin, "Robin is a child. You, decidedly, are not."

Red Robin huffed. "Are you okay? 'Cause I've been here the whole time?"

"Really?" Superman asked.

"Yeah," Red Robin crossed his arms. "Spoiler can vouch for me."

"Ah, but she can't!" Green Lantern pointed as though he'd caught them in a trap. "She's been switched out with someone else!"

Again, the two Gothamites shared a look behind their masks. "Alright," Red Robin shrugged, "This is an enclosed space with exactly one accessible exit-" if you don't know your way around, that is, "-if we were being switched out, where would they hide and why wouldn't Superman have been able to hear them?"

The answer is the sheer number of bats. The rafters are high and hidden enough in the ceilings that they blend in with the natural formations. The bats hang from the rafters. Because there are so many of the animals, and because of their training and spite, the Batfam have been able to hide their heartbeats within the throws of bats'. Superman's hearing would be able to pick up any sound that doesn't match with the nocturnal animals. The flutter of a cape could easily be the flutter of a bat's wings. The heartbeats that are slightly too slow are easily taken to be an older, sleeping bat. Movement is just a bat that's been disturbed.

The heroes were all quiet as Superman listened intently. Then, after a few minutes, he sighed and shook his head. "I can't hear anything out of the ordinary."

"But-!" Flash tried.

Red Robin shook his head. "If you guys are too paranoid about being here, we can take you back to the Zeta Tubes. I don't think we'd be able to convince B to let you come back here, though."

"No," Wonder Woman composed herself, "We apologise. Please, continue."

Hesitant, RR turned to take them to the large med bay. "Alright, if you're sure."

On April 15, a war broke out in Sudan's capital city of Khartoum between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), and a paramilitary group known as the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

Since then, eight months of conflict has led to major destruction of Khartoum's infrastructure, the most developed region of Sudan, with fighting also spreading to the regions of Darfur in the west and Kordofan in the south.

Civilians in conflict zones have been forcibly displaced, under threat of physical and sexual violence, particularly by the RSF, which has looted, destroyed, and settled in people's homes.

Regional:

In the western region of Darfur, a campaign of ethnic cleansing is being carried out by the RSF targeting the Masalit tribe. Allegations of genocide have been levied against the RSF.

Reports have just emerged that fighting has now spread to Wad Madani in Al Gezira state, which houses nearly 500,000 IDPs from Khartoum.

In arguably our first submission about your play style, we asked you all whether or not you use buffing or debuffing moves! It was quite interesting to read the comments from you all about how you like to play, and the results after 600 votes were:

Final Stats

This month, we had a grand total of 2,714 votes cast- more than the 2,594 votes last month, but still less than the first month's record of 3,354! Of course though, because there was an extra poll this month, the monthly average is actually lower than last month- 543 compared to 649, and the lowest overall. The overall average still declines from the peak in January, to 653 votes, though at a slow rate as it settles to a more representative average compared to the very high average January started us with.

On our increasingly cramped week to week chart, we can see a general range that most polls fall between. The nichest poll, the one dedicated to this blog's tournaments, still remains the least voted on- and the initial poll remains the most. But who knows what will come this month?

Premise: Adar x Celebrimbor / silverscars canon divergence!AU. Political marriage trope. Celebrimbor flees Eregion after discovering that Annatar is not who he claims to be. This lands him in Adar's camp. The uruk proposes an unconventional solution to both of their problems - a political marriage. Celebrimbor accepts. Neither of them expect this to change the course of Middle-earth's history...or for them both to develop genuine feelings for each other in the process.

The war in Sudan

On April 15, a war broke out in Sudan's capital city of Khartoum between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), and a paramilitary group known as the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). Since then, eight months of conflict has led to major destruction of Khartoum's infrastructure, the most developed region of Sudan, with fighting also spreading to the regions of Darfur in the west and Kordofan in the south.

Civilians in conflict zones have been forcibly displaced, under threat of physical and sexual violence, particulary by the RSF, which has looted, destroyed, and settled in people's homes.

In the western region of Darfur, a campaign of ethnic cleansing is being carried out by the RSF targeting the Masalit tribe. Allegations of genocide have been levied against the RSF.

Reports have just emerged that fighting has now spread to Wad Madani in AI Gazira state, which houses nearly 500,00 IDPs from Khartoum.

I say this because last night, a 5.4 magnitude earthquake hit where I live. Epicenter was only 40 km from where I live, and it hit at 11:30 pm.

Thankfully, everyone is safe and well. No damages to property was reported either.

During all that, I realized that my obsession with the 118 and their particularly two hot guys might be getting out of hand, because in the middle of all the shaking, I was hoping they would show up if anything more drastic happens.

Took me a good 5 minutes to remember they are not real.

Multigender Survey Results Dec 2023: Genders (part 1)

Multigender versus questioning

The first question asked participants to indicate whether they were multigender or were questioning (single selection). 594 participants (80.1%) identified as multigender, while 148 (19.%) were questioning whether they identified as multigender. 

Categories

Participants were asked to select which of the following best described the extent to which they identified as a woman, a girl, and/or female (single selection). The options provided were:

I am fully a woman, a girl, and/or female: 196 (26.4%)

I am partially a woman, a girl, and/or female: 417 (56.1%)

I am not a woman, a girl, or female in any capacity: 130 (17.5%)

613 (82.5%) identified as a woman, a girl, and/or female to some extent, whether fully or partially. 

Participants were also asked to select which of the following best described the extent to which they identified as a man, a boy, and/or male (single selection). The options provided were:

I am fully a man, a boy, and/or male: 297 (40.0%)

I am partially a man, a boy, and/or male: 393 (52.9%)

I am not a man, a boy, or male in any capacity: 53 (7.1%)

690 (92.9%) identified as a man, a boy, and or/male to some extent, whether fully or partially. 

The combination of answers to those two questions were used to sort participants into the following nine categories.

Categories vs Labels

In the previous survey, categories were formed based on answers to the question “What are the genders you identify with?” This turns out to have been an inaccurate way to categorize participants, as the categories participants self-identified with often didn’t match the way they would have been categorized based on the genders they identified with. 

Of 196 participants who identified as fully a woman, a girl, and/or female, 166 selected “woman/girl/female” as one of the genders they identified with (84.7%). Of 297 participants who identified as fully a man, a boy, and/or male, 259 selected “man/boy/male” as one of the genders they identified with (87.2%).

Additionally, the previous survey did not include “manwoman/boygirl/male+female” as a gender option, under the assumption that people who identified that way would select both “man/boy/male” and “woman/girl/female.” However, of the 398 participants who selected “manwoman/boygirl/male+female,” 210 selected both “man/boy/male” and “woman/girl/female” (52.8%). 142 participants who selected “manwoman/boygirl/male+female” did not select “woman/girl/female” (35.7%), and 117 participants who selected “manwoman/boygirl/male+female” did not select “man/boy/male” (29.4%).

Abinary Genders

Participants were asked “do you experience abinary gender(s)?” (single selection), with abinary defined as “genders that are completely unrelated to the male/female binary.” The options provided were:

No, I don’t experience any abinary genders: 143 (19.2%)

Yes, I experience one abinary gender: 144 (19.4%)

Yes, I experience multiple abinary genders: 285 (38.4%)

Questioning: 171 (23.0%)

429 participants (75.7%) experienced one or more abinary gender(s). 

Of the 151 participants who identified as fully a man, a boy, and/or male as well as fully a woman, a girl, and/or female, 19 (12.6%) experienced one abinary gender and 62 (41.1%) experienced multiple abinary genders. 81 (53.6%) experienced one or more abinary gender(s) and 49 (32.5%) did not experience any abinary genders. That is to say, for a majority of participants who identified as fully a man/a boy/male and fully a woman/a girl/female, they identified as other gender(s) in addition to those two.

Why did Amazon just cancel a 97% scored Prime video show?

The first graph above became a huge hit among fans right after the third season of the TV series ended, and it is used as the ultimate argument for how successful, popular, and well-received the season was. There’s no arguing with a 97% rating, right? RIGHT?!?

One of the remarkable things about this graph is how easily this number was swallowed like hotcakes without any critical thought or questioning.

As soon as this number came out and was flying around like a banner, I made the effort to log into the respective Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB sites and check for myself what was behind these numbers. It seemed too good to be true for a series that never reached the level of pop culture zeitgeist alongside the series this graph claims to displace.

The numbers are publicly available and easy to check.

The project has nothing to do with yesterday’s news, as my first rating check was back in April.

I intentionally waited a month after the last episode to give some time for viewers who like to watch the season at once to give their ratings. In the end, the differences between the check at the end of April and what came out at the end of May turned out to be negligible.

Here's what exactly is hiding behind the screen of yet another data manipulation.

A more in-depth and detailed study of the ratings clearly shows the decline in audience from season 1 through season 2 to season 3, with more than half the number of reviews (including critics). The fewer the number of reviewers, the higher the rating – the logical conclusion is that these ratings are given mainly by early fans of the series, and the average viewer is completely missing from the picture. The TV series is liked by those who have stayed to watch it, but it has not gathered any new audience to justify talking about how high ratings have any weight.

It is ironic how the headlines are loud about a 97% rating, when the real news is the catastrophic 50+% drop in audience. It looks scary how episode 1 has 14 thousand reviews, and episodes from 21 to 24 barely attract 4 thousand people.

Elementary manipulation of the data to fit in the desired narrative.

Personally, I would be ashamed to use these ratings as an argument, when the much more important question is not how successful it was, but where did 10 thousand people disappear to? And why did 10 thousand people disappear?

But you won't see this anywhere, of course.

P.S. And a completely separate question remains about the spiral of blaming the vocal haters as the culprits for the TV series not being watched… how we continue to count 10,000 thousand people as a "vocal minority" compared to the barely 4,000 fans available. Something doesn't add up here either. But that is a question for another day.

Chapter 5.4 - Conspiracies of the Nether Regions

MIKO

Miko had dates before—mostly bad. She was always disappointed with how unambitious and silly and—

"Broke," the voice fills in.

"Shut up. I’m not that shallow," Miko laughs quietly to herself. It's getting easier to remember to reply in her head.

She flops on her bed, barely able to contain her smile. It was late by the time she and Emmett hopped on the ferry to head back to the mainland. And on the train ride back to campus, she fell asleep on his shoulder. 

“Hey!” Alice calls as she slips into their room, “You’re looking better.”

“Feelin’ better, too,” Miko agrees. “How’d your date go? You had fun?”

Even though Alice smiles, it makes Miko worry. She’s seen Vlad around campus, and his entire vibe says he skinned someone for fun. “What’s he like?” Miko asks, “Is he from a big family? What are his interests? Does he have a temper?”

Alice winces. 

Son of a bitch! Miko immediately jumps into action. “Alice, victims of abuse get stuck in patterns; if he’s acting like Jeffery, then you need to leave him.”

“No! I didn’t say that!” she screeches. “He doesn’t have a temper. I mean, he’s eerily calm but also not calm at all—”

“Alice!”

“No, it's fine! I just mean I’m the one with a temper. I mouth off, I’m loud, I love sex, and I haven’t even kissed him.” She looks down at her lap, “I freak out whenever I think there is even the slightest hint he might be upset. And he’s not upset. He takes extra pains to reassure me. And then I feel stupid because this isn’t me at all.”

A little part of Miko’s heart cracks. “It’s okay, hon, listen, you are gonna get back to being the old Alice, I promise. This is just a blip.”

Alice nods and takes a few deep breaths. “Thanks. And hey, I thought about what you said, and you’re right. You have a lot going on. I’m going to look into the secret society.”

Internally, Miko cringes, feeling like a monster.

"But you shouldn’t feel that way," the voice chides, "It’s her fucking project.

“That’s good…just…just let me know if you need help,” Miko offers weakly, “I’m sorry I was such a bitch about it.” 

“Only like ten percent bitchy,” Alice teases as she stands, pretending to do some calculations.

She heads over to her closet and starts pulling out clothes. “So, how was your day? What did you get into?”

"She won’t understand if you tell her," the voice says and even though Miko was doubting her sanity earlier, she knows the voice is right.

“Nothing much,” Miko lifts a shoulder, “Just hung around campus.”
