I keep reading over and over that it’s SOOOOO bad to make close friends at work because they could bite you in the ass to further themselves in their career if you share personal info with them…honestly I was shocked! In my career as a teacher, we are independent and equals— no climbing a promotion ladder unless we REALLY wanted to become a principal or vice principal which isn’t typical. Our raises are based SOLEY on our seniority. Many teachers are absolute best friends and hang out all the time and are invited to many gatherings of each other, so I really struggle to comprehend a workplace that isn’t loving like that…so is this true?
