Here's an idea: time travel fix it, but the time traveller is Zeff.

Casually fixing what he can for his Eggplant's future Nakama, like bribing Mihawk with a nice wine to mention what Arlong is up to to Jimbe.

I love a time travel fix it with an unlikely hero. Because the Strawhats have a lot of information about what needs to be fixed. Their time travel fix it’s make sense. But the fun ones are their allies who know major events but don’t know everything.

(I saw someone try this with Mihawk and like the man only knows major events that the strawhats get into. Also he’s way more likely just to show up and watch the chaos while drinking wine.)

Zeff being sent back is so fun. 1) he’s a great character who obviously loves Sanji and would want to do what’s best for him. But also 2) he has no idea what half the inciting incidents are! How will he ever know what to stop?

He does have some information though. So let’s say he gets dropped 21 years in the past. He’s still a pirate. Ohara was just burnt last year and Rodger died 3 years ago (fact check me)

Most importantly Sanji is about to be born. His little eggplant is about to be born into one of the worst family on the sea. Well not if he has anything to say about it. He’s still Red-Leg Zeff, the pirate captain.

He knows they can’t do a full frontal assault but some sneaking around gets him to Sora. And a quick “how do you feel about taking all the kids and running?” She’s in. Anything to get them away from Judge.

And it’s stupid easy because they are babies who are only a few days old. Judge only cares about their test results he isn’t watching them. So Zeff and a few of his crew just nab Judges wife and kids, and quite a bit of loot.

Zeff is booking it out of there. But not without kick judge through at least one wall durning the escape.

He makes the decision to quiet the pirate life early. He’s got Sora and the kids to worry about. They open the Baratie early. He knows exactly which cooking staff he’s hiring.

As he separated from the crew he tells them that if they run into a girl named Nico Robin to bring her to him.

He starts establishing the Baratie as a location for all to dine in. But this time he’s focused on making connections. Keeping his thumb on the pulse of both pirate and government movement.

Raising the five kids he’s acquired along side Sora, the genetic programming takes but without it being supported as they grow eventually gets out of their systems. Sanji being the most in touch with his emotions followed by Reiju. Their brothers struggle with emotions but are a lot better and more adjusted than they are in cannon.

About two years into this restaurant one 11 year old Nico Robin is delivered by his old crew. The girl is super freaked out but he sits her down and tells her that’s she’s safe, he’s got ears everywhere and will know if the governmental coming after them, and he won’t let them take her. Plus who’s going to be looking for her at a high class restaurant. It also helps that he’s got a gaggle of children already so she can stay off the floor hanging out with the kids. Sora also dyes Robin’s hair purple and that with age is enough to make people not immediately recognize her from her bounty poster.

5 years later the red hair pirates a bouncing around the East blue and Zeff waits. Waits until one day Shanks comes in one arm short and bragging about his son. (It helps that Sanji and his siblings are helping out so Shanks and Zeff are just casually talking about their kids.) He grabs the captain and pulls him to the side and tells him that Luffy is in danger and that there is another little boy on that island, a boy who is the son of his old captain. Shanks thinks he’s crazy at first but he knows things about Luffy. The scar under his eye, and other things.

Enough to make shanks curious enough to turn around and find Luffy and his TWO new brothers. He quickly collects three children and returns to the Baratie. (Kicks door open while holding three children “you were right!” Zeff surprised by the third child but not mad) (I don’t think he knows about Sabo)

Luffy and Sanji get on like a house fire with Luffy loudly declaring that Sanji will one day join his crew as his chef. And Zeff is standing there watching them with a proud smile, because somethings are just meant to happen.

Meanwhile Shanks as turned to look at Zeff

“anything else I should know about?”

Zeff just snorts “a lot. You still friends with Hawkeyes or have you to made it official yet?”

(With the Baratie around earlier he had to witness young Shanks and Mihawk flirting, it was painful)

Shanks gets sad “he’s mad about well you know…” the missing arm. And Zeff feels bad about that but he had no clue how the man lost it in the first place so there was no way he could stop it.

“If you run into him tell him there’s a crazy kid in the east blue gunning for his title. If he wants to keep things interesting he might want to train him.” (The Baratie is Mihawk’s favorite establishment Zeff could also tell him but he has a feeling the swords master would listen to Shanks over him.)

This is how Mihawk shows up at a dojo where a 10year old Kuina and 9 year old Zoro are training. (A year before Kuina’s death) he sees their skill and hears Kuina’s father’s opinion about females and training. He knows it’s an opinion that is also popular in Wano where this man is obviously from, but it’s not the way the rest of the world works. He approaches and offers to take over the training of the girl “who won’t make anything of herself” and the “feral gremlin using sword handles for teething.” Kuina’s father isn’t to sure about all this but he can’t really refuse the greatest swordsman in the world nor will Kuina or Zoro stay once they hear about the offer.

Mihawk has now obtained one verbally polite girl who will break every rule the moment his back is turn and one backpack leash gremlin.

He and Shanks are regulars at the Baratie for parenting advice. Luffy meets Zoro’s and again claims him as part of the crew. Years later Zoro and Sanji argue over who will be the first official member (Sanji: Luffy asked me first! Zoro: but I was the first one to physically join the crew!)

But currently the three run a muck on the Baratie pulling pranks on their older siblings (Ace, Sabo, Kuina, and Reiju are all the same age) or just Sanji brothers (they are still learning emotions and will sometimes join in on the chaos, other times they are a rival faction but if they ever get to mean Luffy and Zoro put them in their place)

but eventually Luffy runs into Robin (she tries to stay out of the way as much as possible to not get the Baratie in trouble. Zeff tells her she doesn’t have to but Trauma is a thing) Luffy loves her instantly. She quitely reading a book and Luffy joins her for story time and she never gets mad at his interruption and is so patient with him. He looks at her with a grin of a small sun and tells her “when I’m captain you’re going to be on my crew!” Robin is a little freaked out because she doesn’t want to bring the world government down on this little boy. But Zeff talks to her later and tells her that Luffy isn’t a force that can be stopped. It takes time but in the next ten years Robin comes around to the idea of being on Luffy’s crew with Zoro and her little brother Sanji. As soon as Luffy claimed her he told the others. Sanji was pumped! Zoro just accept it but he comes around to really love Robin.

At the same time that the boys are all being adopted Zeff is making some calls and contacts. The Baratie has been open for over 9 years he’s got some high connections. He eventually gets a hold of Jimbei and tells him that Arlong is in the East Blue and causing trouble. (Arlong has just started in the East blue, Zeff has no clue of the time clock) he points Jimbei in the direction of Cocoyashi.

Jimbei gets their right at the time of Arlong raid in the village. He walks in right as Arlong and Bell-mére are having their confrontation. I don’t know exactly what happens (I haven’t met Jimbei yet) but he’s able to stop it.

Bell-mére asks how he knew they were in trouble and he tells them about the Baratie. The village wants to thank the man who alerted Jimbei so Bell-mére goes (she is a retired Marine and probably the best sailor.) and takes Nojiko and Nami with her. Of course Shanks is visiting with the boys and Luffy and Nami instantly hit it off. “This is my Navigator!!!” Shanks is laughing because the kids going to have a whole crew before he has a boat.

Once Luffy is ready to set sail he meets up with Zoro and the two head to the Baratie to pick up Nami, Sanji, and Robin. Zeff points them in the direction of Suyrup village to “get a ship” where they pick up Usopp and save Kaya. (This absolutely does not make Usopp’s feeling of inferiority worse by the time they get to Water 7. No way. It’s not like everyone else on the crew until Vivi and Chopper have known each other for 10 years. He’s not the odd man out in any way.)

Zeff doesn’t have a lot of information about their adventures so he can’t truly stop anything but he does know some thing. (Nami leaving the crew. Luffy and Zoro being from the east blue and having connections with Shanks and Mihawk (Mihawk totally goes the the Baratie to drink during the time skip. Zeff knows Zoro is his kid) he knows Ace is Roger’s son and that he dies. But he doesn’t know anything that isn’t in Sanji’s letters or the news paper (which is full of lies)

He makes the best decisions he can for Sanji.

He saves Sanji from Zeff as soon as possible

Accidentally saving Sora, Reiju, Ichiji, Niji, and Yonji

After Sanji set sail Zeff decides to expand the Baratie. It’s a chain

Patty and Carne take over the East blue branch

Reiju runs the one in the grandline.

Ichiji runs one in the west blue

Niji runs one in the south blue

The north blue doesn’t get one until Judge is dead they all agree on that

Yonji bounces from place to place helping as he is needed

Zeff and Sora open one in the New World.

Zeff might not know everything the Strawhats went through but he knows the major events and by having a home base in almost every sea he’s got ears everywhere. His old crew is still out there acting as ears for him and bring him news.

Anything he can help the Strawhats avoid or remove from their path he sends word

He tells Shanks about Ace.

Accidentally getting Luffy, Ace, and Sabo adopted

Saving Sabo from the Celestial dragons

Giving all three boys the chance to train with the Red Hair Pirates and learn Haki early while also getting a feel for the Grandline and New World

Ace’s death is prevented because he knows about Blackbeards plans and tells Ace to watch out for the man and to not trust him. It helps that Ace grew up with Shanks who never liked Blackbeard at all.

He tells Mihawk about Zoro

Kuina is accidentally saved

Both get to train with Mihawk far before their adventure. Mihawk loves it because the two are “trying to kill him” but they are also competing with each other and it’s MESSY they are so dramatic in their own weird way and he’s living for watching this gremlins fight while he drinks wine. When Perona shows up he finally has a goth child who wants to dress presentable and drink wine while making his other children. The family is complete.

He puts out feelers for Robin having no real hope she will show up

Accidentally gave her a loving home and help her feel safe while also preparing her for the adventure ahead.

He points Jimbei in Arlong direction. He has no clue what Arlong is truly up to.

Accidentally saves village

Saves Bell-mére’s life and kick starts the Strawhats.

The Strawhats still have a lot going on but because of advance trading some received as children and the stronger bonds.

He can’t do anything to Chopper, Franky, Brook or Usopp because their trauma is already passed Franky/Brook or he doesn’t know their stories well enough to intervene, Usopp/Chopper.

But he does make the safest home possible for his little eggplant.

picturing Eddie first meeting Dustin and thinking yeah, he knows how this goes: he’ll be a larger than life, comical figure in this kid’s life for, like, not even a year before he leaves Hawkins High in the dust.

And sure, Dustin is, like, ridiculously endearing even when he’s being a cocky little shit in campaigns, and that suits Eddie just fine, ‘cause he can be a cocky little shit at the best of times, downright obnoxious really, he thinks—a part of him’s never outgrown the juvenile, no matter how many times he repeats senior year.

Plus Dustin is crazily good at solving riddles, so Eddie’s remaining months leading Hellfire are definitely gonna be a fun challenge.

Then March comes.

And Eddie’s shaking apart in a boathouse, seeing impossible, terrible things on a loop in his head, Chrissy, Chrissy, God no, please, and Dustin’s there, with a wisdom far beyond his years, calmly leading him out of the dark.

Eddie half expects it to be a trick, but no. Dustin Henderson believes him.

You don’t know me, Eddie wants to say.

But there’s a constant defiance in Dustin’s expression, even when he’s clearly trying to keep things light and breezy, there’s nothing to worry about! Like he’s just daring for Eddie to contradict him.

There’s something assured in how the kid does things, Eddie thinks. He can see how the years of all this shit have shaped him, have him flitting between maturity and earnestness: something born from a childhood that’s not been lost, just altered.

He watches Dustin walk with Steve Harrington in the woods—can read the shared history and fondness hidden in between layers of snark; they’re family, he knows that without a doubt.

What trips him up is that Dustin keeps looking back, keeps drawing him back into the group with complaints that he’s walking too slow, and his eyebrows are raised meaningfully, like he’s really saying that there’s room for Eddie here, too.

And Eddie doesn’t know how to convey the sudden gratitude he feels closing up his throat—feels too jittery still, too raw to do anything justice.

He keeps close when Dustin tears off through the woods, heart in his mouth as the night darkens, Dustin, can you slow down? Dustin!

He pulls Dustin back from the lake’s edge just in time, then feels Steve’s watchful eyes on him—spots a flicker of approval, like he’s passed some sort of test.

And that feeling only grows the longer he’s around Steve, lying through his teeth in The Upside Down, I don’t even know why I care what that little shrimp thinks, and Steve’s giving him this knowing sideways glance, like maybe they’re something of the same; Eddie feels a sudden, unexpected rush of joy at the thought, dancing in and out of Steve’s space, still super jealous as hell, by the way.

“I told you, right?” Dustin says, grinning widely as Steve drives them out of Forest Hills at breakneck speed. “He’s awesome.”

And Eddie feels the fondness of his own smile, feels it right down to his core, because he gets that Dustin’s only being so forthcoming because Steve can’t hear him right now.

Kid worships you, dude. Like, you have no idea.

It hits him then, while roughhousing with Dustin in the grass (a deliberate distraction, trying to make the kids forget about weapons and fire): that he’s never really been the kinda guy who people want to stick around, but now…

Now he’s starting to think that he could be.

Starts to imagine, starts to hope—and that’s huge, something that would’ve seemed impossible mere days ago—as he sees Robin and Nancy laughing at his antics, their weapon-making temporarily forgotten.

They like me, Eddie thinks with wonder, they really like me.

And he wants—sudden and fierce, with all he has—to change the world for them, to make it so Robin Buckley would just be spending spring break watching arty films, dreaming of Paris; so Nancy Wheeler would never need to hide guns in her bedroom, would never have to carry an unimaginable grief.

Steve looks over, too—his laugh carries across the field, and Eddie is caught by the warmth in his eyes; even as Dustin manages to playfully tackle him, he’s still thinking of Steve, and maybe, maybe…

The lightness fades as they go over the plan, but not the emotion: Eddie keeps that tucked away, safe, a promise to himself.

“Uh, are you sure about this?” he says in an undertone to Steve, when it’s first revealed that it’s him and Dustin paired up together.

Steve’s eyes are apologetic, “Sorry, man, I’ve tried every—if there was a way to just, like, sit it out, I’d have—”

“No,” Eddie says urgently, “I mean…” And he points at himself before nodding discreetly to where Dustin is—currently talking up a storm with Erica, something about vents that he can’t make sense of.

“Are you sure?” Eddie presses, trying to put all he’s not saying into the question, I can see how much that kid means to you, I’ve known him, like, six months, Harrington, that’s nothing, why, why do you—

Steve shakes his head. A little smile breaks through his concern. “Yeah, of course,” he says, like it’s nothing.

But Eddie can feel the weight of it. A passing of the torch.

And he doesn’t know how to put what he’s feeling into words: that, apart from Wayne, he’s never really allowed people in, never allowed them to matter like this.

As they drive back to the Creel House, as time runs out and nerves build, he tries to show everything he can’t say; he helps Nancy take stock of supplies, offers Robin his shoulder so she can sleep, and he knows that’s not enough, barely scratches the surface, but it’s all he’s got.

He sits in the back of the RV, watches Steve, tense and silent in the driver’s seat, and knows with certainty what his mission is: get Dustin Henderson safely back home.

And no, Eddie doesn’t know how any of this is gonna go.

But he can hope.

He can try.

Laying back on the bed, you pull your shirt up over your belly. Jo looks at you with a smirk. You roll your eyes. 

“This will be warm,” the ultrasound technician tells you as she picks up the jelly she’s about to squirt on your round belly. 

It is warm, like she said. She places the wand on your stomach, smearing the jelly around and turning the screen towards you. You look up at it, holding Jo’s hand as he leans forward, closer to you. 

“You know, we can probably find out the gender today. If you want.” The tech smiles at you softly and you nod, looking over to Jo. 

“We want to,” he tells her and you smile widely. 

“Any last minute bets?” She asks, raising an eyebrow. 

At the last session, Jo had sworn the baby was a girl, with no evidence of course, but it was still too early to find out with just ultrasound. They offered the blood test, but you felt like this would be more fun. 

“Girl,” Togame says quietly to you and you giggle. 

“Just show us!” You feel so excited, you wish you could scream it without feeling rude. 

“Alright,” she moves the wand on your stomach and turns the computer screen more towards you. “Right here,” she gestures with her free hand. “Shows us that it’s a boy!” 

“Oh my god!” You squeal and don’t try to stop it. “I told you, Jo!” 

He laughs and kisses your forehead. “A boy,” he grins and squeezes your hand. “We’re having a little boy.” 

The ultrasound technician prints the photos and hands you warm towels to wipe the goop from your stomach. You clean yourself then sit up, lowering your shirt, well Jo’s shirt, down over your body. She leaves you two in the room with a small wave bye. 

“Can you believe it?” You ask and he shakes his head. 

“We need to think of a good name,” he says and you laugh, getting off the bed. 

“Buy me a smoothie and maybe I’ll let you have a say in naming him,” you kiss him softly and he laughs against your lips. 

“Like you’ll come up with a better name than me,” he holds your hand as you leave the clinic, walking to his car through the cold wind. 

Winter is in full force. You’re five months in and feeling the weight of it now, literally and figuratively. You sit in the passenger seat of Togame’s car, turning the seat warmer all the way up. He starts the car, letting it warm up as he looks at the ultrasound photos. 

“Whatcha looking so intensely for?” You ask and take a sip from the water you left in the car, glad it isn’t frozen. 

“I just can’t believe it sometimes,” he shrugs. “Then I see these or come to appointments with you and it hits me. I’m going to be a dad.” 

“You’ll be a great dad,” you tell him and he smiles. 

Honestly, you don’t know if it’s true but something tells you it is. You’ve only known him for a few short months and he’s been amazing. But what does that really mean for the next 18 years at least? Plus, there’s the elephant in the room neither of you want to talk about. 

Jo has to go back to Japan at the end of the spring semester. You’re not sure he’s even told his parents, and you’re scared to ask at this point. He’s not super open about his family and you’re not sure if it's a cultural difference or if it’s intentional. 

You have a passport, so you could go technically, but you’re due in May and fear he will not be here for it if he leaves too soon. 

“What’s on your mind?” He asks, putting the car in gear and backing out of the spot. 

“You,” you chime, knowing it’s not a lie. 

“What about me?” He asks, watching the road as you make the short trip back to his apartment where you’ve been staying the last few nights since Kaya has had the flu. 

“It’s not really a car conversation.” You tell him, trying to keep your voice light. 

“Anything can be a car conversation. Hit me,” he asks, smiling at you. 

“I fear you won't be here for the birth.” You tell him, looking away and staring out the window at the scenery. 

“Baby,” he says softly. “I will be here, I swear.” 

“But your visa,” you whine, looking at him with tears in your eyes. “You told me you needed to go home in the spring to renew it. I’m due in the spring.” 

He frowns and looks back at the road. “I told my parents,” he tells you. “They’re not really too pleased with me.” 

“I’m sorry,” you tell him, knowing that they probably had much bigger plans for him than this. 

“It’s nothing to be sorry for. Baby, I’m gonna be here for you and him. I will be here for the birth no matter what.” 

“Promise?” You ask, tears falling down your cheeks.

I also want to preface this by saying that not everything I'm saying here is going to apply to everyone and each and every person who regresses or dreams will follow these traits and stuff!

Traits and Behaviors!

☠︎︎This is about the time that babies start to get up and play around, small jumps, walking, bouncing and maybe even some small sprints

☠︎︎Babies this age are starting to like playing with other babies and parallel play could be really fun at this age, they may have trouble sharing though so make sure to have enough eye grabbing toys for all the babies

☠︎︎This is also the age where babies may start to throw more tantrums and have bigger feeling, they naturally want to test the boundaries at this age and they don't like being told no. They're also going to be a bit more bossy and want their way.

☠︎︎Since this is the time they're starting to have bigger mood swings and test the boundaries, that may result in having big reactions which may be aggressive, they may hit, yell, throw tantrums or even hurt themselves to try and cope with their big emotions

☠︎︎They may mostly use hand gestures but they're starting to babble a lot more and mimic language

Activities to do With Your Baby

☠︎︎This is a great age to play a lot of simple puzzle games and games to practice motor skills, patty cake is a great game to play with your baby and so is playing with toys like stacking blocks and ring-stack toys

☠︎︎Pretend play, these babies are growing up fast! They want to be just like cg. Playing dolls and stuffed animals, putting them to bed and feeding them is a great way to spend time with your baby

☠︎︎This is a great time for parallel play, though babies won't always feel interested or know how to play together, they still love to interact with each other and play together to some degree and parallel play is a great fun for babies this age

☠︎︎New textures and sounds are extremely interesting to babies in their two's! Playing with new textures like sand, slime, dirt and more can be super fun for these babies!

Foods and Recipes

These tinies are starting their food journey, they're starting to upgrade from baby foods and apple sauce to solid fruits and hard cereals!

This is one of those things that's very individualized to each regressor! I can tell you what this age range usually likes to snack on but you should ask your tiny what they like either way.

Babies in their two's are starting their palate expanding journey, usually it's best to stay away from super strong flavors and stick to mild and bland flavors. Younger taste buds are much stronger than adult taste buds so when your regressor was a bio baby, they most-likely had blander foods so giving them some mild and bland snacks can be a comforting factor t their baby space

Potty Time for the Terrible Twos

Generally, kiddos are using the potty on their own anywhere from 1.5 - 3 years old but that doesn't mean that kiddos older or younger may deviate from that. There's good info Here about how to properly diaper someone and what products to use

Know Your Baby

You're going to want to know and talk to your regressor before they regress with you! The only way you'll be happy with each other is talking about boundaries and the best way to cat or to each other's needs beforehand. Having the awkward conversations are hard but necessary

Omg what if it's like that myth where if your first baby is always on their head looking between their legs it means they're looking for their sibling? Have you heard that before? It's super cute, so what I'd their lil girl starts toddling around just to stop and bends over and looks between her legs and someone says something about the myth and it makes Reader take a test and would ya know it she's pregnant with baby keene #2

A play date was always something g Reader looked forward to. When her and Robby’s daughter finally started talking and walking things got active very quickly in their household. The little girl who once could barely fit in both hands was now everywhere. Anything she would do or get her hands on was fair game. Reader hated having to keep her in one spot for too long as the girl was a ball of energy. Secretly she wondered who she had inhabited all the energy from.

So when the Diaz triplets decided to make a appearance at their home for a much needed playdate, she wasn’t oppose at all. She was quick to usher the newly walking baby’s in along with Miguel. Little feet pounded though the entryway before getting to the living room where they cried out in happiness. All of the kids were so happy to get to play with each other.

Miguel and Reader where honestly just happy to get to sit dow with another adult that day. Being a parent was hard. Being around your kids constantly could sometimes get to you. A nice break every now and again was good.

That’s what landed the two to the two adult sitting on the couch slumped. Both of them were tired from the long day of child-rearing.

“So you have her potty trained already? We are still trying to get the triplets done. The girls are doing great but…” he cut himself off while looking at his son. Reader laughed a little saying “Don’t worry to much about it! I heard girls are a lot easier to potty train than boys, plus, dude you have THREE to potty train all at once. I don’t think it was going to be all that easy anyway. Just keep at it and he will catch on at some point.” Miguel ran a hand though his curls and sighed. His eyes rolled a little as he watched the kids play on the floor.

The triplets where only about two months older then the Keene girl. They where only a little bit ahead of her by a little bit. Most of what they where still leading she was too. All of them where walking and talking by now. Well the triplets where, Reader’s daughter was still trying to talk. She was starting to try and form words full but she was getting there. Miguel and she watched as they messed around with some blocks on the floor for a while, laughing and trying to talk to each other the best they could.

Slowly the Keene girl got up onto her feet with the help of the coffee table. She tried to walk a little bit towards one of the twin girls. Her little legs bubbling a bit before making her way over to the other girl who was smiling at her. She started laughing, seconds later she was bending over and looking though her chubby little legs. Her eyes sparkling as she looked at her her mama. Gummy smile with a few new teeth showing through her lips as she started giggling.

“So how long has she been doing that?” Miguel pointed at the little girl. His eyes lazily looking at her. Reader hummed while cocking her head towards her daughter “That? About a week now. I have no idea why she keeps doing it. She won’t do it to Robby, just me.”

“You should probably get checked out then.”

Reader’s head whipped around to stare at him. Her eyes wide with worry “You think it could be something serious? I really don’t think it’s anything serious. Nothing else seems to be going on-“

“I mean you, you should get checked out or get a pregnancy test.” He snickers at her expression. Reader feels herself go red hot in the face. She taps him on the shoulder hissing “Why would you say that?! What does me possibly being pregnant have to do with her being a odd little toddler.” She huffs. He surges at her saying “My mom always tells me that when a toddler does that, it usually means your pregnant again. It’s like this old wives tale that if your toddler lookers though their legs then they are looking for their sibling. If they don’t have one then it’s thought that you're pregnant.” Soon enough the girl stops and goes back to playing with her friends.

Reader watches with a small smile. The idea of being pregnant again had never crossed her mind. Her and Robby never really talked about having another child just yet. Getting pregnant the first time was a complete shock. They didn’t want to make it sound so bad in passing but their daughter was both a miracle and an accident. They had narrowed it down once she was pregnant.

Reader forgot her birth control just once on the same week that a condom they used broke. It felt almost like a one-in-a-million kind of thing. They would be the ones to get pregnant from a small accident. They were both scared out of their minds but after a while everything fell into place. It wasn't as if they didn't want kids, they both did but having their daughter so soon into their marriage was a lot for them both to handle.

Both of them had issues in their childhood which made them more cautious about the idea of children. It took a lot out of both of them to even wrap their heads around having their little girl.

“Robby really trying to put another in you so soon?” he wiggled his brows making Reader grimace.

“Can we please not talk about what me and Robby do in our own bedroom right now.”

“Um okay but if you really do have a chance of having a bun in the oven, you might want to let him know.” he rolls his eyes before relaxing back into the soft cushions.

Reader chewed at her lip as she turned her attention back to the kids. Eyes focused on her little girl again. She was currently hugging one of the Diaz girls while playing a toddler version of tag. Her light green eyes were full of glee as she tapped one of the other toddlers and took off to the other end of the room. Her little feet took her to the other side of the room, the other kids following behind her. She seemed so happy to be playing with the other toddlers.

Readers mind started to wonder.

Was it possible?

Could she really be pregnant again, even after being so careful?

⋆ ˚｡⋆ Both are extremely protective, they would never let anyone hurt you, in addition, they always go with you everywhere possible, since they are always together, they always try to take different walks, Izana likes to go shopping and spending hours in random stores while testing Kakucho's patience.

⋆ ˚｡⋆ They don't feel jealous of each other, despite that, with other people, they are extremely jealous of your friendship, you are extremely close and that makes them worry about the importance of your friendship, since they don't want to that you never leave or something like that.

⋆ ˚｡⋆ Kakucho is undoubtedly the most affectionate and attached, Izana has more difficulty showing feelings, but he usually shows the love he feels through protection and solidarity, Kakucho likes affection, supports you in absolutely everything and tries to give you good advice.

⋆ ˚｡⋆ When you are sad or going through a bad time, the boys are always by your side trying to cheer you up, Izana and Kakucho hate to see you sad, since you are like a little ray of sunshine for them, the only thing that brings them peace of mind amidst all that gang stuff.

⋆ ˚｡⋆ They keep you away from gangs or the like, despite that, Izana always taught you how to fend for yourself, they would never allow or forgive themselves if something happened to their best friend.

⋆ ˚｡⋆ Izana and Kakuco use a photo of the three of them as the wallpaper on their cell phones, in addition, you have several videos, photos and funny stickers of each other, Izana once put a photo of you when she was a child as a profile photo only because I think it's so cute.

⋆ ˚｡⋆ You try to use similar color palettes, Izana is very concerned about his look, so he helps you and Kakucho dress the way he sees fit, for that reason, whenever you go out, it looks like you're going to a fashion show and Izana is proud of it.

⋆ ˚｡⋆ You go to parties, random outings or just spend hours at home watching movies or reading, Kakucho is a little scared of horror movies, but you and Izana make him watch, his scares make you laugh a lot.

⋆ ˚｡⋆ Izana LOVES showing you his goldfish, he spends hours in front of the aquarium talking about the goldfish and you and Kakuco think it's extremely cute, plus Izana tried to teach you how to play the guitar but Kakucho failed miserably and you at least tried.

⋆ ˚｡⋆ Kakucho loves to take care of you, he is the most responsible of the group, preventing you and Izana from getting into trouble, he is super protective, always being as affectionate as possible.

⋆ ˚｡⋆ Your friendship can be a little "colorful" sometimes, especially with Izana, you've kissed a few times and like to flirt just for fun, he also does that with Kakucho, they both like that fact, Kakucho always is the shyest one, he likes to have you close to him, but he never has the courage to ask you for something that went beyond friendship, but sometimes you end up relating to each other.

not sure if any mutuals out there are alvin and the chipmunks fans but when i was ill i started watching the cartoon show and i carried on watching cause honestly it was fun. and i've just finished it so i've got to say... at least in the show, i think eleanor and alvin would be a better couple than eleanor/theodore and brittany/alvin...

like okay so eleanor is very much the most emotionally mature one of the chipettes and she's quite into politics and stuff but also enjoys going to the skate park and playing football, plus she does find alvin's pranks funny but also has a go at him when he goes too far but in a way that's just like "don't be a prat, but i'll help you resolve this mess".

and alvin is probably the least emotionally mature of his brothers (maybe on par with theodore, idk), and he enjoys football and going to skate parks and stuff but we do also see him encouraging and cheering on his brothers and dave and chipettes when they have achievements. also there's so many episodes where eleanor has a problem so he goes and helps her as hard as he can. like if they can't figure something out themselves they go to each other for help <33 (unless its more something that they need stem nerds simon and jeanette for tho)

like also they both bitch the most about their siblings (especially with each other!!) so i can imagine them literally just gossiping about people all the time and having each other as someone to confide in when people are pissing them off (cause they literally are already that for each other)

plus that episode where britt and alvin do that soulmate test and get each other and absolutely hate it and alvin imagines life with brittany being her making him carry loads of shopping and wear pink instead of red and stuff and britt imagines life with alvin being alvin hogging the spotlight and not letting her be a popstar anymore. and tbf that def isn't what it'd be like 💀 cause ofc alvin is going to just refuse britt and ofc britt is just going to ignore alvin.

but alvin and eleanor??? like i can def see them being together in the future and although their main career is obviously their own bands, eleanor would prob do coaching in one of her hobbies or something (since she enjoys it a lot) and alvin would do like professional skateboarding competitions and stuff, but they'd also like go on adventure weekends and stuff and they'd pick up random hobbies together and get super competitive with each other but cause they find it fun!!

also alvin and britt would sooo not work out. they both love the spotlight too much, it'd be constantly fighting for attention and refusing to give it to each other, plus britt is very neat and tidy whilst alvin is absolutely not but brit would refuse to clean after alvin and alvin would refuse to constantly have to tidy up and again, they'd jusy argue.

and with eleanor and theodore, it's more just a matter of eleanor finding him very sweet but she enjoys competitions and debates and theodore is just going to follow along whatever she says. plus theodore would hate all of eleanor's active hobbies (like i remember she's into fencing and stuff whilst theodore would be terrified of all that)

obviously i can feel people saying "oh but now theodore and brittany are alone" okay, so 1. not everyone needs to be paired up in relationships, 2. i also feel like brittany is the kind of person to be like "i'm the hottest, coolest, most interesting chipmunk around, why would i need someone else when i have myself?", also 3. britt is soooo either aroace or a lesbian, also 4. theodore may date sure, but show eleanor ain't a good match for him

Wow I finally watched Monsters at Work (S2)

**Minor Spoilers**

This show is Joy. This show is happiness.

This show is pure enjoyment, forget-about-the-world-around-you fun and indulging in a world full of adventures, Jokes and references to an original movie we hold dear to our hearts, While paving the way for a beautiful new story about a dynamic duo changing the colour of their world and the human world one child at a time.

I think there was a lot of risk, As with any sequel / spin off, of repetitiveness and overall the continuation of the story just not doing well.

But Monsters at Work was perfect.

(In my eyes - You do not have to agree with me, I just want to show my appreciation and love for this show and Story)

This show provided more of the future we've all been so curious about since the end of Monsters Inc (We all knew things worked out with Laugh Power - But did it really?) (Yes, Yes it did.) and the changes it made to the city and their communities as a whole - The politics, The power company's rivalry's, How people feel about laugh power, All of our favourite characters, All of our most disliked characters and so so much more.

They balanced giving a nod to the past, Making references to those original movies between og characters as if they're inside jokes (Which I guess, they are), Seeing characters we love and adore, Seeing scenery that is comforting and familiar, Even items (BOO'S DRAWING ON SULLEY'S DESK - I'M NOT OKAY-) without it being in your face and making it the whole show. Mike and Sulley being a part of the future of this company and caring for their little misfits, without overbearing and letting these new characters shine and share their own stories - It was perfectly balanced.

I love what this show represented as well - Different cultures and races in the human world and monster world, Different couples / sexualities without making it a big fuss (They're just in a happy relationship - That's what matters!), Healthy relationships and really great traits like embracing who you are, Always stand up for what you believe in, Never hesitate to show your Love for the things and people you care about and so much more!

Something I also loved is the representation of the real and healthy relationship between Val and Tylor - And the fact this didn't turn into a romantic relationship.

The first season was about building the foundations of their friendship and really getting to know each other - The second season really tested their friendship and saw to how they would get through these rocky times together.

While there were some moments of heartbreak, sadness and even anger - With communication, Responsibility and ackowledging what they had done, They got through it and came out the other side of it with their bond even stronger than ever! Which I think is something super healthy and important to represent.

And while I see there are a few hints here and there that could definitely lead to a Third season, Which halfway through episode 10 I literally said I would sell my soul for a third season, Once I had finished that final episode, My mind had changed.

The ending of Season 2 was perfect.

It was happy. It was fulfilling. And while I'd be one of the first to hop on Disney plus if a Third season did come out - I feel like they could stop the show here if they wanted to.

I could watch this show forever and ever and ever if I could, But we've all seen what happens when a show continues simply for profit etc. and it loses what that original story is about.

But on the other hand, they have a whole world of Monsters stories and cities to explore that we've only scratched the surface of.

And you never know what might be coming in the future.

All in all, I absolutely adored this show with all my heart and soul and I will forever talk about how perfect (in my personal opinion) it is.

Also there will forever be some references that will never get old.

1. Song of the year?

GREAT question. I am absolutely dreadful at music, I typically find a few songs and then listen to them on repeat without branching out 😅 BUT! I think this year for me it's "The Ballad of Jane Doe" which is a song from the musical, "Ride the Cyclone." I listened to it a lot earlier in the year when I was dogsitting for a friend's boss and it was what I was really listening to when I started writing An Evening to Ourselves! Which kicked off my whole fic writing journey! I wouldn't say it has ANY similar vibes to my writing, but I listened to it so much around then that now it just reminds me of writing 🥰

3. Favorite musical artist / group you started listening to this year?

Hmm I think this one's pretty basic but Chappell Roan? My roommate has been a fan of hers for years but I really started listening to her once my sister started getting obsessed with her. My beta also got married this year and she said that her favorite part of her wedding was singing Chappell Roan on the dance floor with me and our dnd group! So yeah, probably Chappell!

4. Movie of the year?

Gotta go look to make sure but I THINK probably Wicked. I LOVE musicals, and Wicked is one of the first ones I ever listened to with some of my childhood friends growing up. We'd sing "Defying Gravity" in my best friend's bedroom and switch off who sang for who. I've seen it twice now and loved it both times!! I can't stop listening to "No One Mourns The Wicked" lol.

6. Episode of tv or webisode that defined the year for you?

This is super tough. The only thing I can really think of is the episode of Fantasy High: Junior Year where the Bad Kids take part in The Last Stand. Basically, Fantasy High is an actual play dnd show by Dimension 20 on Dropout and this year they aired their third season of this particular campaign. In the Last Stand episode, the party was taking a test to see if they pass Junior Year and it was just EVERYONE at the top of their games and playing so smart and funny and well. My roommate and I were like "this is our superbowl" 😂 I wouldn't say it DEFINED the year for me, but it definitely sticks out as one of the more memorable things I watched this year! Plus, I love playing dnd with my friends and seeing the performers from D20 perform around town :)

9. Best month for you this year?

I think I'll go with November! That was my birthday month, and I got to spend so much time with my friends. We went to Medieval Times and were put on the evil Green Knight's team and it was SO MUCH FUN!!! I also spent Thanksgiving with my roommate and her family which was a nice change that I absolutely adored. We had great food, decorated for Christmas, went to the movies, went shopping, and watched Finding Mr. Christmas on Hallmark. Which! Is a HILARIOUS show. They're trying to find the next male lead in a Hallmark movie. We made a bracket of who we think will win and everything. Just an overall fun time 🤩

11. Something you want to do again next year?

HMM........... Another tough question. Mostly because I have the memory of a goldfish and I have to try and remember what I've done this year lol. I'd honestly LOVE to go back to Medieval Times at some point and then go to the Pirate Adventure theater across the street this time! (There's another themed restaurant down the street that's pirate themed and I'm VERY interested in seeing a show there too). OH!!! And I want to keep writing. Idk if I'll get Part 7 of Beauty and the Bard out before the new year, but I'm SO excited to continue writing!!!

16. Post a picture from the beginning of the year

OOOOOH I like this one. Please hold. How about a face reveal? Here's me at the local Ren Faire back in April! Ignore whatever weird thing is happening with the angle of my foot, but this is my attempt at Birdie, my Tav, cosplay! Birdie started as my dnd self-insert character and so this is more of that version of her than her BG3 counterpart. It was really hard finding pics of stuff I did at the beginning of this year because for the most part, I was working from home so there were mostly pics of my cat. But Ren Faire is a blast! Highly recommend going to one at least once.

18. A memorable meal this year?

Not to sound like a broken record, but probably Medieval Times! You're supposed to eat with your hands but my bestie brought plastic silverware. You got chicken, potato, corn, garlic bread, tomato soup, and an eclair! It was really so much fun watching knights ride horses while eating a hearty meal 😂

19. What’re you excited about for next year?

I'm going to two weddings next year in Europe! One of my cousins is getting married in Italy in May, and another cousin is getting married in Ireland in October! I'm in sort of a weird place work wise, but hopefully I'll be able to get time off and attend both! I've already said yes to Italy which I'm really excited about! I'd love to go to Ireland too, but again, idk what the state of work will be at that time. We shall see!!

20. What’s something you learned this year?

Again, here's where my goldfish memory kicks me in the ass. I guess I'd say I learned that I can write pretty well! I kind of always knew that based on what and how I did in school, but it's nice to share my goofiness with people other than teachers, myself, and close friends! I was being really hard on myself because I'm trying to eventually become a screenwriter (someone who writes for TV) and I've been struggling to get there while my roommate (who I love and adore and support wholeheartedly!) has been getting some pretty cool accolades in the writing sphere. Point is, I was feeling kind of down about my abilities, but I learned that there's a wonderful and supportive group of people on Tumblr who want you to succeed! And I'm so happy to be a part of it <3

21. What’s something new about your place of residence (room, home, or general location) now vs the start of the year?

Omg SO glad you asked this one: My roommate and I just bought a HUMONGOUS couch for our apartment. Our previous couch was pretty cheap, in that it was foam and springs and we'd sat on it so much that the foam had begun to sag and we could feel all the springs. We got this new couch from a friend for pretty cheap BUT it took us FOREVER to get it into our apartment because of narrow halls and doorways that we forgot to measure. One piece of the couch had to be hoisted over our balcony (luckily we're only on the second floor but YIKES!)! In total it took 5 hours and LOTS of money to pay the movers lol. But DAMN if this new couch isn't the most comfortable thing in the world. We were honestly thinking of moving somewhere cheaper because our rent is SO expensive, but now we're like "well, guess we have to stay here forever since we can't get this couch back out!" 😂

25. Did you create any characters (in games, art, or writing) this year? Describe one.

I did!! Besides Reader in Beauty and the Bard, this year, my roommate ran a western themed dnd campaign and I played the Dumbest Warlock Ever. Her name is Zaddie Zipper (named purely because I thought it would be hilarious to have my friends unironically call me "Zaddie") and she was in a cult of this guy called Ol' Zupp. They're in the middle of the desert and yet everyone wears white robes, live in caves, and nobody talks - they all communicate telepathically, which gets Zaddie into trouble when she meets the rest of our adventuring party (she got punched in the face for saying "hi" to someone in their head 😂). Zaddie thinks she's a cleric to Zupp, but instead she's actually a Warlock who signed her soul away to him during her "Zupp-mitzvah!" She can't read so she names all her spells; Eldritch Blast is "Big Zap," Misty Step is "Poof!," Identify is "What's That?" etc etc. EVENTUALLY she gets her memories back, realizes she was KIDNAPPED, kills Zupp and becomes a Wizard. My DM told me NOTHING about Zaddie's actual past, so her getting her memories back was me actually learning about her life for the first time! I love her so much, she's so fun to play. We just did a great one-shot Christmas special and are hoping to keep playing season 2 of this campaign in the spring! This is the art I use of her, from Sarah Johnson on Pinterest!

Today the guys were filming a video with TFIL and Penelope was tagging along since she had nothing to do and they didn't want to leave her home alone.

"We're here today with Sam and Colby and their lovely friend Penelope. And we let you guys pick what we do today. What did you choose?" Elton asks the guys.

"We're gonna break into a mall." Colby tells him and they talk about it while Penelope looks up at the bum trying to figure out how she was going to get in there.

Climbing in wasn't so hard once Colby found a spot so Penny just followed him. Then the others climb on over. Walking around to find a way in they lose Penelope as she wanders off on her own.

"Where did Penny go?" Heath looks around.

"What?" Colby looks around confused, "How did we lose her?"

"Now we gotta backtrack." Elton groans.

As they walk around they find her walking towards them, "I found a way in." She lets them know.

"You just disappear on us." Colby speed walks towards her.

"I did. And being far from you guys I could still hear how loud y'all were being." She laughs leading the way.

"Can you even climb up there?" Elton asks her looking at the entrance she found.

"I was in gymnastics for thirteen years and they had us rock climb for fun during the summer at times. I can do it." She forces a smile as Colby climbs up then she goes second.

Walking to the center of the mall, Penelope realizes what mall they're actually in since she only knew it from the inside.

She gasps rushing to stand on the escalator, "Just me? Now, how's a blind man find his way into a place like this all on his own?" She says a line from her favorite TV show.

"What?" Sam says confused.

"Really? I have the season on repeat all the time because it's the best." She walks towards him.

"Teen Wolf. They filmed here for the mall fight scene where Penny was going to lose her shit if they really killed Derek." Colby tells him making Penelope smile.

"And this is why I love you." She pats his back, "You pay attention to me." She laughs.

They walk around more to explore more Penelope gets a text from Darwin saying it was an emergency so she tells him where she is so he can pick her up.

"Everything okay?" Colby sees her.

"Darwin said it's an emergency so I told him where we are." She sighs, "Umm, I'm gonna head back out. I'll be okay so don't worry."

"Are you sure?" He stops her from walking off, "Is it a serious emergency?"

"I don't know how serious but he said it's an emergency so..." She shrugs her shoulders.

"You're really gonna leave us?"

"Colby, my boyfriend needs me. And since that one little tiff, we haven't been as great as we once were. Plus we had another little one last month about you again. I apparently spend more time with you guys than my own boyfriend." She explains to him.

"You live with us of course you do." He laughs.

She just looks at him before leaving the group and heading back the way they came from. Getting out was a little difficult but she managed to do it alone. She waited a good five minutes before Darwin pulled up.

"What's the emergency?" She jumps up from sitting.

"My brother got in an accident and I need your help taking things to the hospital." He tells her.

"Okay." She gets in not understanding why she had to help. If it was super important to help him why waste time getting her.

Penelope knew something was slightly off when they got to his place and he was no longer rushing nor getting things together.

"I thought you needed my help?" She watches him in his kitchen.

"You passed the test." He smiles.

"Excuse me? I passed the test?" She repeats super confused.

"Yeah, if I don't ever text or call saying I have an emergency I'll know you'll drop what you're doing to help me. You passed the test." He kisses her cheek as he goes to the couch.

"So you lied? You made me leave what I was doing to test me?" She turns to face him.

"Yeah, it lets me know I'm important to you. You'll leave the guys for me."

She just stares at him looking for something to watch on TV and she starts to think about things, "How did you get there so fast?" She walks into his view.

"I was out and about." He lies to her.

"You still got there way too quickly. Were you stalking where my phone was at?" She pays attention to his body language.

"Ahead of time, yes. Just because if you did say yes I was there on time so you wouldn't have to wait outside too long."

"How long is ahead of time though, Darwin?" She raises her voice a bit.

"I don't fucking know. I saw where you were and I went towards you." He huffs then gets confused seeing her heading for the door. "What are you doing?" He watches her.

"Going home. I'll have Kat pick me up since you tricked me." She leaves his place calling Kat and she says she will be there as fast as she can.

When she does pick her up Kat takes her home and stays over with her to talk about why she called her to pick her up, "Wait, so it was just to test you?" Kat asks as they sit on Penny's bed.

"That's what he told me. He's like; you passed the test. So I told him to explain to me and he told me it was a way to let him know I'll drop what I'm doing to help him." She explains to her, "Should I mention he was stalking where I was."

"No! What the hell is wrong with him?" Kat shouts, "He doesn't like the guys right?"

"Well, he's okay with Sam it's Colby he has a problem with. But... I can't believe him." Penelope groans, "You know, he used to be so good. What the hell happened?"

"Some guys are just, ugh." Kat gives her a sad smile.

"Yeah, but you got lucky with Sam." Penelope rolls her eyes, "I've only ever dated two guys and they both suck. I actually really liked Darwin but now, I don't know. What do I do?" She whines.

"Okay, let's break everything down. Starting with the very first problem; you living with the guys." Kat pats Penny's leg, "Does he still think you should move?"

"Yes, he still tries to slide the tiniest hints but it's still noticeable."

"And the real problem deep down is because of how Colby is with you?" Kat asks so Penelope gives her a thumbs up. "And you and Colby have talked about it?"

"Yes, Kat. He understands he's a bit overprotective."

"A bit? Okay..." Kat giggles, "So he still has a problem with him?"

"Yes. When he came over to apologize for the first time, he said he thinks something happened between the two of us, because how we were acting odd."

"How were you acting odd?" Kat wants to get to the bottom.

"We each looked embarrassed. I know my reason but not his. We fell asleep watching a movie... I had a dream and then woke up to the door."

"What type of dream?" Kat watches her get embarrassed, "Penelope!" She shouts, "Do you have a crush on your best friend?"

"Would you shut up!" Penny covers her mouth, "What if they walked in quietly without us knowing. And no but yes at the same time. It's this little crush that just sits in the back of my mind and won't go away. BUT, nothing is ever going to happen." She explains as Kat smiles.

"What if secretly he likes you too and is scared or embarrassed to say it? What if he had the same dream as you? That's why he was embarrassed as well?"

"Impossible." Penny laughs.

"No, Penelope. Colby is way too protective of you for there not to be something there deep down. Hell, maybe he doesn't even know how he really feels?"

"Can we not? Colby is just my friend. He's my best friend. I don't want to lose him. He and Sam are the only guys in my life that I'm scared to lose because without them... I'm alone." Penelope tells her getting upset.

"What are you gonna do about Darwin?"

"I don't know. It just seems to get worse as time goes on." She hides her face into a pillow, "I want it to work but..."

"Colby would you please stop complaining for the love of god!" Sam shouts entering the apartment so the girls walk out. "Oh, hey Babe." Sam smiles.

"Penny asked me to pick her up." She tells him.

"Why? I thought Darwin had an emergency?" Colby rolls his eyes not trying to hide it.

"It was a test." Penelope rolls her eyes going back to her room while Kat explains to the two.

Kat ends up staying a little while to hang with Sam so Colby goes to Penelope's room to see her on her phone, "Am I interrupting you?" He whispers.

"No, you can come in. What up?" She sets her phone down.

"Kat explained everything after you came back in here." He enters her room shutting the door behind him.

"Do you think I should break up with him? Honestly." She sits up as he sits on the end of her bed, "You're my best friend and I want you to tell me how you feel about everything."

"You guys just have your moments but it's up to you not me. You make your own choices."

"Colby, I asked you to be honest with me. Stop lying to me right now. Forgot the whole, you need to mind your own business and back off some. I want the truth, please." She gets annoyed with him.

"Honestly, fuck him. He's becoming a dick and now stalking you when you aren't home. And truthfully I don't believe he trusts you deep down. He said he doesn't trust me but that means secretly he feels the same about you. If he doesn't trust me it means he thinks I can steal you from him. Guess what, it takes two to tango." Colby tells her, "I get that you guys were great before actually getting together but as soon as you guys did it started to have its problems. I don't want you to go through crap."

"I hate dating." She covers her face not wanting to cry.

Colby moves to sit next to her to hold her, "Hey, maybe the third time is the charm." He chuckles then stops letting out a sigh, "I know you really loved him."

"Who knows, I never said I love you to him." She tells him.

"I thought you guys say that?"

"No, I say love you and he said love ya so..." She looks at him.

"Maybe that's another sign for you." He gives her a sad smile, "I just hate seeing you like this."

"And I appreciate you really care." A tear falls.

"Of course, I love you and you don't deserve this shit." He wipes it away.

"I love you too." She hugs him happy she has him in her life.

Reasons why I love it: Oooh, ominous ending alert! I really enjoyed the movie It Follows, so seeing the concept in fanfic form was really satisfying. Plus, the way it ties into Marvel canon here is super fun. Definitely check this one out if you haven't, it's amazing!

Summary: It was just little things at first. Elevators opening on the wrong floor. Wild temperature fluctuations. An odd, glitchy babble from J.A.R.V.I.S. that went from amusing to annoying to alarming and then righted itself without explanation. Tony nursed a persistent migraine. His body ached. He slept, but he never felt rested. He was sure there was something lurking on the edge of his periphery, but whenever he gave in and looked, it was gone.

Reasons why I love it: There are some truly chilling lines in this that stuck with me long after I finished the fic. And the whole concept itself is utterly terrifying, technology turning on people as tech-reliant as the Avengers is truly a nightmare. This fic is fantastic, and you should definitely read it!

Summary: It was supposed to be a relaxing vacation, a chance for them to spend some time as a couple and work out some of the kinks in their relationship. That was before everything got weird.

Reasons why I love it: Reading this fic feels like watching a movie. The action scenes are beyond fantastic, and as a huge fan of horror, I really love all of the horror movie tropes. The underlying plotline of Steve and Tony figuring out some things about their relationship is amazing too. Just all around an incredible fic that you don't want to miss!

I did this once before the series aired, but I thought it’d be fun to rank the core characters in OF in the middle of the series’ run and once more at the end.

I’m gonna tag some of my active OF moots here (and some new OF friends as well!) if any of you want to play too—no pressure at all! 1. Sand

Of course it was going to be Sand in first place (get it…First place?)

He might be morally dubious in Ep6, but if anything, that makes him more endearing to me (don't ask me how). If they all play dirty, he can play dirty too. Plus, he's just got the vibe. The t-shirts, the jackets, the boots, the independence. The superior music taste? Mans has it all except for money. Though tbh, the moment that solidified Sand as my favorite was when he ran after Ray at the end of Ep6--he was just dealt a personal attack by Ray in front of everyone, but he doesn't even hesitate to go after him. And that is the marker of a ✨ favorite character ✨

2. Ray

Naturally, both Sand and Ray have taken the top spots (pun intended), and it's because I have a special place in my heart for "woobified" characters (did I use that right @waitmyturtles? 😂)...and Khaotung executes his layers so beautifully. Ray did go in for a nonconsensual kiss (which he later apologized for, but I digress) and he did hash out some pretty brutal insults last episode. Irrespective of his feelings for Sand, it's indisputable that he has used him in some aspect to distract himself from Mew. So for all that, Ray is also morally dubious--but I'll use the term realistic instead.

I just want to give him a hug and tell him that he matters. Because clearly that is something he's heard only a few times in his life. And maybe if he heard it more often, we could avoid situations like the one at the end of Ep6.

3. Nick

I’m having a bit of an inner battle with myself over this one because Nick came out of the gate with some very immoral behavior, and yet I’m still putting him above Mew, because something about him is just so…pitiful. Admittedly, I've been growing more and more frustrated with him as the series goes on and he still fights for Boston's affection when Boston has proven time and time again that he just doesn't care. Boston keeps him on a rope, and in some ways I sympathize with Nick's struggles, because it isn't easy to turn the feelings off once they've already been cemented. But alas. He's digging himself further and further into this hole.

4. Mew

A lot of my gripes with Mew have been in respect to his treatment of Ray, but I go back and forth because I do understand the mental toll it must take on him. Regardless of whether or not he's responsible for helping Ray through his mental issues, as his closest friend, I think it should've been him running after Ray at the end of Ep6. Yeah, Ray said some shitty things about everybody, but Ray has only ever wanted what is best for Mew. And Mew was going to watch him run off and potentially get himself killed, even after Ray admitted what Top had done. Something about that just doesn't sit right with me.

Despite all of this, Mew does appear to be the most level-headed of the group (alongside Sand, though that was put to the test last ep). And the moment he played TopBoston’s sex audio right in Top’s ear? Phenomenal. He nailed that execution. I will laugh when he's on his revenge kick next week.

5. Cheum

Cheum is this low firstly because she doesn't get a lot of screen time, and secondly because she's made some comments that are a little questionable too. I can't remember who said it, but someone pointed out just how often she references how lucky Mew is to be with Top--which is a little strange, looking at him like he's some big prize. Also, not to bring everything back to Ray but...she contributes to the "burden" discussion quite a few times.

I do really enjoy the small snippets we've gotten of her with April. I like that they finally gave their relationship a little bit more context in Ep6. They do seem to have some pretty solid communication (at least compared to the others) so I'm pleased with that.

6. Top

I know a lot of people have felt sorry for Top. And I understand that completely. I struggle to given that he not only cheated but lied about the cheating--and likely would never have admitted to it. For Mew, someone who values communication and honesty so strongly, it's like a punch to the face. I hope Top gets what's coming to him. (Also, stealing Sand's boyfriend? Wtf dude.)

7. Boston

Not much to explain about this one--I can understand why he is some peoples' favorite for the sole reason that he is the one creating all the conflict in the first place. But he's so twisted, manipulative, and careless that I just want Mew to kick him into that pool a hundred times over. I don't expect him to rise from last place by the end, but if he does, it'll be a miracle.

Next up for Warner Bros Animation, favorite character from the 2002-08 half of the Kids WB shows with: Mucha Lucha, Ozzy & Drix, What's New Scooby Doo, Xiaolin Showdown, The Batman, Johnny Test (this oughta be interesting since it aired on three different networks with varying seasons of quality with seasons 1-3 premiering on Kids WB, seasons 4-6 being produced for Cartoon Network, and the revival seasons being produced for Netflix), Loonatics Unleashed, Tom & Jerry Tales, Shaggy & Scooby Doo Get a Clue, and Legion of Superheroes? I skipped Coconut Fred since everyone and their mother despises that show (one of the worst of all time).

Jesus Christ that's a lot. Also look given some past entires here, Coconut Fred is being kept on the grounds that it shoudn't be forgotten just for being horrible. like da boom crew which I thankfully haven't seen. So anyways..

Coconut Fred's Fruit Salad Island: I saw it at the time and it.. sure does exist. It's a half hearted spongebob ripoff. I'm talking about it because it did exist but don't have much else. Maybe I shoudl've left it out but i've let worse shows have an entry. This is just.. ntohing.

Mucha Lucha: IT'S A WAY OF LIFE! Senior Hasbena who just had a fun voice and a great early spotlight episode. The show itself is one I need to revisit but is awesome as hell, having a nice respect for luchadore culture while also being pretty nonsesically fun. While I would love a full on wrestling action series, this one was still good fun and needs ot be avaliable to stream in some fashion.

Ozzy and Drix: Drix if only because he was my faviorite in the movie. This series feels.. unecessary. It's not a bad idea but both frank's state at the start and Ozzie and Drix ending up elsewehere make it feel like the first film didn't matter and it feels weird to just.. not keep the setting. If they wanted kid plots, Frank has a daughter. That gripe aside the series was ... eh. Not terrible, but nothing really super special either.

Xiaolin Showdown: Jack Spicer. The boy, the myth the legend and Danny Cooksy's best role by a wide margin. A fun villian who was laughable enough to never get boring and stick around long after he'd been outclassed by newer big bads. Xiaolin Showdown is one of the best cartoons of this era, one of the best of this action show block and one of the best. I rewatched it in college and was amazed it held up so well. The show is genuine about our four heroes working, said four heroes while having familiar archetypes for the most part, are great characters who are a load of fun to watch and the format of the showdowns is engagin: while it does usually lead to some form of fight the contest format adds a nice wild card to it: our heroes can end up in a game where telling the truth is the only way out, a soccer match for OMi's soul, or a battle royale with all present. IT's a wonderful show I wish would get a proper revivial. And no Chronciles dosen't count, chronciles can go fuck itself.

The Batman: Another one to revisit and i'd say clayface as the twist of him being someone batman knew and trusted is utterly guttnig. I gave up on this one early for petty reasons depsite having most of the toys: I hated what they did with mr freeze and felt it couldn't compare to btas. Time has passed and with the later seasons adding some nice swerves i've accepted the show is it's own thing, trying to be a more action oriented shonen to forge it's own identity from the more moody btas. And it did apparently get better and better as it went and having seen a later episode or two casually , I can agree. Plus I admit to loving the touch of having batgirl join up before batman. Also the movie where he fights dracula is fucking dope and wel lworth your time.

Johnny Test: I'd say the twins for being usually hilaroius. As for the show.. it's eh. I used to hate it

But I now see it as an okay show that had some fun bits, and what I saw of the revival, as sadly short lived as it was, was better. It's still not AMAZING, but it wasn't the mindless garbage it got labeled as either. Nor a dexter's lab ripoff.. I do think they took some inspriation from it clearly, I mean look at the twins... but when you look at the cast none of them really match up to dexter's aside from the twins, whose crush on gil and age diffrenate them just enough. It's not an amazing show but it's hate was overblown.

Loonatics Unleahsed: Look the base concept of "The looney tunes as superhero: could be fun. I have a batman daffy and superman bugs on my desk as I type this. They did skits of the kind. The problem is lonatics wanted to be batman beyond with looney tunes and it never worked as a kid and dosen't work now.

Tom and Jerry Tales; I love tom and jerry but i've barely seen this.

Shaggy and Scooby Doo Get a Clue: The timing on this one as good as i've been watching through this on and off with @jess-the-vampire recently. I don't really have a faviorite. As for the show itself it's overhated like the last two entries and honestly.. it's okay. It's nothing amazing thus far, trying to be venture bros by having henchman 2 be an obvious ripoff of 21. Which wouldn't bother me if they did it right but instead he's just annoying. That being said it's still not a terrible series: the theme song is terrible but the show itself is solid, having intresting sometimes bonkers plot and shoudlnt' be vilified for breaking formula. It may not entirely work.. but I can respect TRYING something new an dhope go go mystery machine is a better version of this.

Legion of Super Heroes: Bouncing Boy: this series kept his goofy powers but also what works: someone who badly wanted to join the legion, never gave up and then threw in his reboot self's pilot skills and flsehd out his perosnality.

As for the show i'm a big legion of superheroes fan and this show is part of what brought me to the clubhouse. It's a slick show that nicely merges the two continuties it had to work with: the pre zero our one from the silver age and beyond and the reboot that helped ground things (The third reboot, yes three and there was a fourth long after, was just happening around this time so only star boy being black made the cut from there), while keeping the silver age namesan dastetic from before.

The result is a fun show that loves the legion dearly, has a great cast of characters and despite being made to have a teen superman show dosen't let clark overshadow everyone else: he's the lead.. but most of the main cast get a focus episode over the course of season 1. I"ll admit season 2 isn't quite as good as due to executive mandates the female cast is sidelined in places and imperix is a boring villian, while superman x, superman but EDGGGYYYYY just isn't that intresting. But season 2 isn't all bad with some standout episodes, the addition of chameleon boy and a truly chilling arc with brainy and an old friend I won't spoil for those who haven't seen the show. This series is a little seen gem that needs more love.

I realized as we worked on this I almost forgot something important, a series that begs for the spotlight so..

What's New Scooby Doo: We're comin after you, we're gonna solve that mystery. This is a hard one as the gang is reinvented well but i'd have to go with Fred, whose goofiness begins. After the great prequel that was pup named scooby doo and the success of the live action movie, What's New was a reinvention of the franchise in an odd way: it goes back to the gangs old actors , minus grey delise making her debut as daphne, and old style of writing thigns but updates it in a way that dosen't feel too dated now: sure the gang does extreme sports, but it's not to rocket power levels and fits for Daphne.

This series also cements fred and daphne's new roles going forward, roles that helped keep the character fresh despite the dozens of films and handful of series to come. Fred was dialed back from teh conpsiarcy theroist of pup, but instead became the bumbling tourist, a tad awkawrd in places and a tad over excited in others. It added nice layers to him besides solving mysteries and bullying his best friend and it left the door open for him to get reinvented a lot. Daph meanwhile, got a welcome reinvention that let her fit into the classic gang better: like her pup counterpart she often uses fashion, her wealth is more displayed (if not used as a fucntion) but her friendly nature and willingness to get into things (or easliy getting into activties she hated at first), all debuted here.

What's New is a fun series: shorter than you'd think, but having watched it about twice with jess , it holds up really well, combinging the usual formula with some fun hyjinks and creative setups. Sometimes it was bonkers, but it was a solid return to form that let the series experiment more with the next few, and deserves more credit for helping codify a lot of the modern franchise.

Now that they are official, Gianni knows the time is coming to offer Jennifer up to his family. He's enjoyed their little bubble, but with the introduction to Jennifer's brother and making it official, he knows it's time. He figured his brother's wedding was as good a time as any. Meanwhile, Jennifer is also feeling herself drawn closer to Gianni, so she has something for him...

Gianni: This show is weird as hell. I don’t understand why this man is doing all these quests or whatever.

Jennifer scoffs: Because he’s trying to beat the others and be crowned the Llama King. Duh!

Gianni laughs: You should hear how you sound. Sorry, I didn’t realize I was in the presense of a super fan!

Jennifer: Do you even watch this show?

Gianni: No.

Jennifer: Then why’d you agree to come over?

Gianni: ‘Cause I like hanging out with you. Plus, you said you were cooking.

Jennifer: That’s fair. Good thing I like hanging with you, too.

Gianni: That's a very good thing.

Gianni: So, I’ve got to know... what did your brother think about me? Did I pass the test?

Jennifer: There’s no test, Gianni! But yeah... you passed it.

Gianni: Fuck yeah!

Jennifer: I was surprised, too. My brother can be heard to impress. But, he said you guys had a great talk.

Gianni: Yeah, we did. He was telling me about his music. Said he’d show it to me sometime.

Jennifer: Oh, Watcher. I hope you don’t think he’s, you know. Since your job’s in music...

Gianni: Oh, no. He’s cool. Trust me, I know when someone’s just looking for a come up.

Jennifer: Good. Yeah, his music’s good. I don’t know how serious he is about it, though.

Gianni: I guess we’ll find out. Hey, speaking of brothers...

Jennifer: Yes?

Gianni: Uh, well. You know... my brother’s getting married soon.

Jennifer: Yes...

Gianni: I know it’s like far away and like at a palace and stuff, but... would you, I don’t know. Want to go... with me... as my date?

Jennifer: I’d love to, Gianni.

Gianni: Yeah?

Jennifer: Of course! Seems fun. I’d love to meet your family.

Gianni: I have to admit... they’re intense. But, I think they will like you a lot.

Jennifer: Really?

Gianni: Yeah, you’re actually the first girl I’ve brought home.

Jennifer: Wait. Seriously?

Gianni: Yeah... They are going to eat that up, too. I hope you’re ready for that.
