Okay, I hear you folks loud and clear. Here it is.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
How Suo foils Sakura as a character
For starters, their personalities, on the surface, are quite different. Sakura is rather brash, but he is very upfront about his feelings and takes initiative when needed. Suo carries himself with dignity and grace, but remains passive and would much rather observe a situation unfold at a distance.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This translates into the way they fight as I’ve mentioned before. Aside from their fighting styles being completely different (Sakura’s kickboxing is close contact while Suo’s aikido lacks contact and focuses on deflecting attacks), the way they treat their opponents differ. While Sakura makes an effort to understand Togame, Suo imposes his own (contrived) worldviews on Kanuma. Sakura converses; Suo monologues.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Speaking of Umemiya’s philosophies, Sakura is known to eat a lot ( @furinfry made a really nice writeup on this theme, and they explain it much better than I can), even being dubbed a glutton by… Suo. Which is funny, because it’s been shown that Suo himself doesn’t consume food around others, claiming to be on a diet.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If Suo’s refusal to eat is a metaphor for his self-alienation from his peers, then Sakura’s acceptance of Umemiya’s advice is proof of his assimilation to Furin.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
On the topic of alienation, Sakura is vulnerable and wears his heart on his sleeve; he unintentionally lets people into his world whether he realizes or not. Suo does none of these things—and his emotions are either (unintentionally) drawn out by the people he cares about, or when he witnesses something that contradicts his principles.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sakura hates covering his appearance, while Suo makes it a point to do so (given that he literally wore a scuba suit to a beach).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The way they treat Nirei post-KEEL also differ. Suo is concerned for Nirei and helps foster his fighting skill to the extent of abilities, but Sakura remains rather ‘wary’/protective of Nirei (obligatory dead wife flashback mention)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There’s also the case with how they handle other people’s situations. Suo first observes and evaluates, then shares his own rational conclusion while Sakura tends to be upfront of what he feels about it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The way their internal dialogues are written also differ. Sakura’s focuses on himself and his introspections (given that he’s the MC), and they’re very descriptive. But Suo’s is limited; he simply addresses the situation around him. The only time he introspects is to put himself below Sakura.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m probably missing a lot of things, but these are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.
Additional Tidbits which add no value to this post:
Sakura’s flower is the Cherry Blossom, a tree that is so rooted in Japanese culture. Suo’s is the Chinese redbud, which is well… inherently Chinese (gotta tag @psychicwavementality for this one)
Sakura is learning how to cook, but Suo makes it a point that he prefers to bake instead
Sakura develops throughout the story, but Suo stays rather stagnant (I really want to make a writeup on this which also talks about Nirei’s development soon)
Suo’s character color is red; Sakura’s color is sometimes green (representing Furin). Both red and green are complementary colors on the color wheel.

💗Astro Notes💗
The fire signs tend to be confident of finding light at the end of the tunnel. The earth signs are focused in the present - staying busy with practical arrangements can bring security. With planets in air, your key asset is objectivity - conversely, with planets in water you need to give due importance to deep feelings.
The cardinal signs tend to deal with difficuity by taking control and trying to make headway. In the fixed signs, there is natural resilience and staying power. If you have mutable signs strong on the other hand, running away might be your preferred option - but if not, you can use your versatility and capacity to adapt.
The 6th house is a good place to begin. Your daily health plan belongs here and so it is wise to create one which reflects your 6th house planets (and/or the sign on the cusp).
Sometimes there will be contradictions, such as having both Jupiter and Saturn in this house, but this simply means that you must pay attention to both and get them to work in tandem in this area of your life.
Even if you have Chiron or Uranus here, you can devise a way to honour these principles. With Chiron in the 6th, you might be interested in investigating complementary health practices; with Uranus, it might help to exercise in short bursts, and also to find ways to discharge the high-voltage nervous energy this planet exudes. Mercury in 6th house you can have a very exciting lifestyle, and you can also be distracted by many things during the day.  Sun in 6th house you like to be productive during the day itself.
The 12th house Traditionally this was regarded as the house of sickness, a place where planets lose vitality and are "weak" in their expression. Other astrologers speak of karma and "past lives" in respect of this house. A psychological approach can shed light on this.
Planets in the 12th are hidden from view - thus our motivations and behaviour patterns around them tend to be unconscious. In addition, the "past lives" can be seen as those of our ancestors; planets here can hint at complexes or traumas experenced by past generations, which we have somehow inherited.
These hidden feelings often make themselves known to us in psychosomatic form, as physica. symptoms. An example of this might be the Moon here suggesting an experience of lack of nourishment or care, which might emerge as a longing to be looked after; with  Mercury here you can experience of not being allowed to speak out, which emerges as illnesses or conditions connected to the voice.
People with a lot of neptune, 12th house energy are more prone to daydreaming and have a more relaxed outlook on life. You are not so inclined to be able to do something immediately or to be organized, you are often more inclined to do things when you feel like it. You do a lot of things by feeling.
Sun -your indentity and purpose can emerge from a life dedicated to service. Mercury- you have ability to manifest a lot of things. You have a wild imagination. Pluto- You have a very strong intuition and often feel things before they happen.
Pluto can be very powerful in this position.
Based on your venus u can see what type of love u want and where u feel the most loved. Venus is also your pleasure and desire. Where you find your value. Your beauty, art , music, things you love to do. Sagittarius venus you find beauty while traveling. The love you have for places is very big. You love people with whom you can share adventures, fun things, passion. Virgo venus for you grandness of love is shown through everyday acts of affection and care.
Virgo Rising -they have trouble finding true love. They attract many partners who don't suit them in the way they would like them to be. They are also quite individualistic. They like to be with people they can connect with as part of their routine, they usually look for someone who has a similar lifestyle to them. But many times they attract people who are the opposite of who they are, especially since they have Pisces in the 7th house. At least once in their lives, they attract someone who betrays them or has a false identity. They often have a thinner physique and have a harder time gaining weight.
Cancer Rising-they tend to find the right partner later in life.Usually when they have a Saturn return. Before that, they can attract many karmic partners.
Capricorn Rising-they are very independent and can do many things on their own. They also have a lot of luck in love, often find partners, are caring, and create a beautiful home with them. They have a lot of self-respect and will never let you humiliate them.
Libra Rising -They flirt a lot and always need love, but because this is the house of Mars, it is sometimes very difficult for them to regulate their energy. Your personality is naturally passive aggressive at times. You don't like conflicts.. You see the beauty in everything and always want to be kind to people. But there is one side of you that doesn't show as much. That is, people always think you are very open because of your friendly energy, but you are actually quite a closed person. You don't really share your privacy with others.
Sagittarius Rising- Your personality is very optimistic and you try to look at life from a positive perspective. Many times you can  have certain beliefs that you don't deviate from. You are also a very resourceful person. You can quickly get out of situations that are not pleasant

RANDOM ASTRO TAKES #5
Tumblr media
I love how everyone more or less agrees, there are exceptions, that childhood is the prime of life, when the 2 are associated with the summer signs, Leo and Cancer, signs of the Sun and Moon, which are analogies with the 4/5th houses, those of family happiness.
Prime of people or something can be where are Leo/5H/Sun or 5/17/29 degrees in the chart.
We can see below how Marylin Monroe had created a timeless style, she has Neptune (photogenic) exalted (favors) in Leo (shine)/1H(body), ruler of Uranus (unique) in 8H (power)/Pisces (final step of something), square (intensity) Saturn (timeless) in Scorpio (influence)/4H (grounded in the past).
(It’s Sabrina Carpenter)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gemini Moon can be popular to be smart/intelligent with good body/mind coordination, some examples : Kepler, Obama, Freud, Messi, Edith Piaf, Dostoevsky, Ella Fitzgerald, Pelé, Ronaldinho, Louis Pasteur, Houdini, Barbara Walters, Confucius, Italia, Turkey, Netherlands.
But we have also the dark side (dumb moves) : Start of slavery in America, Mussolini, Poutine.
Kendrick Lamar living his return of Mars and Jupiter transiting on his 9H is truly a bless to expose an opp, Drake, and be rewarded for that..😭
Tumblr media
The horizon is Aries/Libra. Yes, it's the 1st and 7th houses, but who's the analogy? So, starting from this principle, let's look at history. It's always torn between war and peace, individualism and collectivism, chaos and order, rights and duties, self and others. That opposition is the most complementary, it’s the perfect balance between the laws that rule the world and universe. Theirs archetypes are the most impactful in history because they are in tune with the environment. Theirs rulers by exaltation, Sun and Saturn, are the limits of our solar system from the Antiquity to the discovery of Uranus, Saturn was the firmament, the 7th sky.

READ MY PINNED POST PLS!
I still can’t believe there was discourse about if Zuko and Katara represent Yin and Yang… can we be serious please?
Yes, I know that Yin and Yang were used as a comparison to the moon and ocean spirits, Tui and La, in universe, but let’s do some critical analysis here for a second.
The writers included a real Taoist philosophy that is universally known as cosmic, opposing forces being interconnected and heavily associated with dichotomies such as sun/moon, day/night, fire/water in a show with elemental bending and they introduced it at end of the first season where the conflict is mostly defined by characters associated with fire/the sun on opposite sides of a war to the characters associated with water/the moon. I need us to be SO serious right now, if they didn’t want Zuko and Katara to represent Yin and Yang, they shouldn’t have written this in??? Like, they literally could not get more heavy handed with the symbolism.
And it doesn’t stop there. Zuko, from his own mouth, says the line “you rise with the moon, I rise with the sun” in the exact same place where the spirits compared to yin and yang (again, A REAL PHILOSOPHY WITH EMPHASIS ON THE SUN AND THE MOON) are swimming around each other.
Like, if you want to say that yin and yang are associated with completely different things than the sun and the moon in the ATLA universe then apparently we gotta break that news to every single person in that world??? Like, yin and yang is obviously a concept in the ATLA world that is known by the characters themselves. Why would Aang need to travel to the spirit realm to gain knowledge about where the ocean and moon spirits are if yin and yang, a philosophy that is known in universe, are associated with the moon and ocean? Wouldn’t he just look at the two koi fish that suspiciously resemble yin and yang and be like “💡! THAT’S THE MOON AND OCEAN SPIRIT!”?? Wouldn’t every water bender in the North know that those damn koi fish are the moon and ocean spirits because of that too??
This is why you can’t tell me that the in universe understanding of yin and yang isn’t the exact same in their world as it is in our world.
“But, pray tell, why would yin and yang be used as comparisons to the moon and ocean then?” Because waterbending is based on tai chi. One of the care principles of tai chi is the yin-yang philosophy. It’s like the gateway element to understand that the rest of the elements in the show are also supposed to embody yin-yang themselves.
A huge theme of the show is the supposed difference and separation of the elements, but the actual harmony and unity of them all. Each element has to be balanced and in turn, balances with the rest of the elements as well, especially their supposed opposing force (fire/water, earth/air). This is introduced in season 1 with Iroh literally telling Zhao that the moon spirit is essential to the Fire Nation as well.
It’s this emphasis on the opposite and contradictory nature of fire and water, sun and moon, that the show itself highlights, while simultaneously having multiple characters say that those things need each other. So unless the Yin-Yang philosophy means something completely different in ATLA, something not “opposing forces that are actually complimentary and perpetuate each other”, then we know what (and who) represents Yin and Yang.
Opposing cosmic forces (Zuko and Katara, who have been on different sides of the war the entirety of season 1, fight on equal terms in the spirit oasis using fire and water; one trying to capture the Avatar, one trying to protect the Avatar; both deuteragonists to Aang, and foils of Azula, mirrored in terms of their positions in the narrative; in universe, matched in strength as Zuko acknowledges at the end of s1) that are actually complementary (Zuko and Katara connect in the crystal catacombs over shared experiences that the other had previously thought not possible, resulting in her offering to heal him using the water from the same damn spirit oasis where they fought for the first time as equals) and interact (book 1 and 2 emphasize Katara’s interactions with Zuko more than any other character from the gaang: he steals her mother’s necklace, he captures her from the group, THAT DAMN SPIRIT OASIS FIGHT, she brings him up to the group and defends his hairstyle (????!????), she offers to help him when Iroh gets struck by Azula’s lightning, she spots him at the tea shop, he gets thrown in the catacombs with her, THEY SOMEHOW FORM AN INTIMATE ENOUGH BOND WHERE SHE OFFERS TO HEAL HIM WITH HER VERY PRECIOUS WATER AND HE LETS HER BE THE FIRST PERSON TO TOUCH HIS SCAR) and perpetuate each other (they literally save each other’s lives multiple times by the end of the show and are willing to die in order to protect the other).
Part of the Yin-Yang philosophy is that Yin is strongest with Yang, and Yang is strongest with Yin. There is a bit of the other in each, hence the symbol. Zuko’s character is marked by change, which water represents in universe. Katara’s arc is about growing into her own power (as a waterbender in book 1 and then as someone who can heal, forgive, and protect in book 2 and 3), which is a tenant of fire. There are multiple lines in the finale from them and from other characters emphasizing how good Zuko and Katara are as a team: Sokka plans all their battle strategies with them as a team, Zuko chooses Katara specifically to face his sister with him, she wholeheartedly believes that they can do it together, that they are stronger and better as a team and it culminates in the end of their arcs because they are both needed to take Azula down.
I actually can’t believe I typed all this out because people are so blinded by ship wars they can’t acknowledge what the writers were putting down (very bluntly by the way, none of this is subtle, like at all). Zutara as a ship aside, the writers clearly wanted them (as individual characters and their dynamic) to be the physical representations of Yin and Yang.

Yab-Yum Wisdom and compassion can become one. What is Yab-Yum? Yab-yum is a symbolic representation of the union between a male deity (yab) and a female deity (yum). The term itself originates from Tibet, where the word "yab" represents the masculine aspect, often referred to as the Father associated with wisdom and compassion, and "yum" represents the divine feminine, embodying the role of the Mother often associated with bliss and emptiness. In artistic depictions, yab-yum is represented by a male deity in a seated position, often portrayed as a peaceful and enlightened Buddha or a deity like Vajrasattva, and a female deity sitting or standing in the lap of the male deity, embracing him. The female deity is often portrayed as a compassionate figure, such as the goddess Tara or the consort of the male deity. The Spiritual Symbolism of Yab-Yum An iconic image associated with tantra, the yab-yum position holds significant prominence within both Hindu and Buddhist tantric art. The posture transcends the boundaries of conventional human sexuality and delves into a realm of divine and cosmic union. At its core, the image embodies the concept of duality, therefore represented through the masculine and feminine union but gives direction towards a state of non-duality, or Advaita, where the illusion of separation dissolves, and a profound unity is experienced. It represents the profound understanding that existence arises from the interplay of opposites and that the ultimate reality encompasses both the manifest and the formless. The yab-yum position signifies the merging and harmonizing of opposing forces. It represents the balance and integration of polarities within oneself and the universe. The masculine and feminine energies are seen as complementary aspects that together form a complete whole. In essence, the yab-yum symbolizes the union of wisdom and compassion, form and formlessness, masculine and feminine, and represents the inherent unity and interconnectedness of all things in the tantric worldview. The fundamental concept of 'Advaita,' or non-duality within Yab-Yum In Sanskrit, the term, advaita means non-duality. It is also a concept commonly associated with Advaita Vedanta but equally relevant in the profound teachings of tantra. To understand the concept of Advaita, one must carefully deconstruct the linguistic implication of the term Advaita or its English translation 'not-two-ness.' Here the words do not suggest becoming one or infusion; it does not imply a merging into homogeneity. Instead, it represents a state where separation, division, and the illusion of individual identity cease to exist while the diverse elements retain their inherent nature. It is a state of neither loss nor acquisition. This understanding eludes the grasp of the rational mind, which can only comprehend the world in terms of singularity or plurality. Therefore, the yab-yum depiction of the union of a male and female deity highlights the fundamental principle that the apparent duality between self and other, subject and object, is illusory. It alludes to the understanding that the true nature of reality transcends dualistic distinctions signifying the inseparability and interdependence of the masculine and feminine energies, symbolizing the dissolution of all dualities but not infusing into a singularity. Vajrasattva and his consort in Yab-Yum Vajrasattva is the embodiment of purity and compassion and, in his solitary form, is a familiar subject in Buddhist art. However, although less frequently, Vajrasattva is depicted with his consort in the yab-yum posture, alluding to a profound father-mother aspect of Vajrasattva. In the Yab-Yum depiction, he is joined by his consort, Vajratopa or Vajragarvi. The consort is often depicted holding a Kartika in her right hand and a kapala in her left, symbolizing the transformative and nurturing aspects of the feminine principle. Mahayana Pilgrim

I NEED YOUR COLOR THEORIES ON BUDDIE MATCHING AND TOMMY LOOKING OUT OF PLACE COLOR-WISE AND THE "YOU WANTED THE RED ONE?" COMMENT THAT BUCK MADE LIKE I NEED IT RIGHT NOWWW
Hello my love, welcome to the madness!
First of all, this scene is 100% about Eddie, but for a second they try to make you think that it is about bt. They start with a very odd angle of Eddie's living room, I did not recognize it at first, so it kinda leads you to believe that we are about to get some domestic bt but then the camera quite literally does a 180 and we are suddenly focused on Eddie with Eddie in the middle, they are there to help create this illusion that Eddie is okay and everything is fine, just as much as the decorations that are only placed where Chris would be able to see.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We're also back to the triangle formation they were being put constantly during Buck's coming out arc, which is interesting in many ways, because they put Eddie in the middle, and while I don't love to put a lot of weight into interviews, both Tim and Oliver have talked about the way Tommy is not gonna interfere with buddie, so I'm intrigued about the role Eddie is gonna play within whatever "finding out uncomfortable truths" means.
I don't know how to fully form my thoughts about the scene as whole, but I know yall want me to talk color, and boy, do I have shit to say.
First off, Tommy's hat. I've been going kinda crazy trying to figure out if that damn hat is green or blue, because when I swatch it from different points of the scene, I get different undertones.
Tumblr media
Currently, I'm working under the assumption that it is supposed to be a shade like this, like a dark petrol color, that is meant to be ambiguously blue and green.
Tumblr media
Why would it be relevant for his color to be ambiguous in this context? Well, the complementary color to red is green and the complementary color to orange is blue.
Tumblr media
I've talked about this a lot when talking about Buck and the way they use green as his something is wrong color, but the goal with complementary colors is to create contrast, so they are making Tommy contrast Buck and Eddie's, red and orange, hats. And there's also the way the letters and the streamer Eddie is holding are red. So while Buck and Tommy are the couple and Eddie is supposed to be the one outside, visually, Buck and Eddie are presented as a unity while Tommy stands out. There's also the way Tommy's lighter shades contrast Buck's darker.
Tumblr media
They did something similar at the bachelor party, while the green and pink aren't exactly matchy from a color theory view, their outfits are explicitly stated as a matching costume, in pastel colors, contrasting the choice to put Tommy in a dark blue color, again with Eddie in the middle.
Tumblr media
There's something about the way that Buck asks "I'm sorry, did you want to red one?" and Tommy completely ignores it in favor of turning the cones into a flirty comment, is that on a meta-level, since the party is red, and Buck himself wears red a lot, Tommy is yet again rejecting Buck's attempt to bring him in deeper into his life, to find that space where he would fit.
Tumblr media
Something else just because this made Alli laugh, the decorations are red, but Tommy is blowing up a green balloon, and well, green is the breakup color and that is funny on its own, but considering the way the party is red, to have him with the opposite color balloon is yet another way to show the lack of effort, to make you aware he does not fit in with the Buckley Diaz family unity, and by consequence doesn't fit in in Buck's life.
Tumblr media
But now talking Buck and Eddie specifically. Eddie is in a warmer version of the colors Buck is wearing. They match.
Tumblr media
Even the red and orange thing we have going with the hats. Because red and orange are analogous colors, that means they are side by side in the color wheel, and they are meant to create a harmonious look, it's about cohesion, creating visual unity, it's the same principle the show uses to make the blue and green thing work (way too long meta on the blue and green), because since you have the same base color, it's easy to make them make sense together. (Also orange is red with yellow 👀 Eddie working his way to his yellow shade queer arc, I believe in you).
About Buck and the brown. Not a very Buck color. But it is interesting that we have Buck in brown when Eddie needs support and Buck wasn't there, when Eddie needs support and Buck is trying his best to fix it, and when Eddie needs support and finally asks for it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Buck is here to be something for Eddie to rely on, and the color brown is used for comfort, stability in a positive setting. But also, negatively, brown is used for loneliness, so they are playing with both meanings here with the way they are both in brown.
Also about Eddie and the brown. Eddie wears a lot of earth tones, but that brown is entirely way too reddish for him. And it's something because during the whole Kim fiasco and when Chris leaves, he is in maroon, they used the color as an indication something is wrong.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So while Eddie is still trying to pretend he's fine, he is still partially in that red, from the shade to everything about the decorations.
So this was yet another way to establish Buck as Eddie's support system, and that Tommy doesn't fit in.
I think this is all, if you read all this, I love you 💜

The Basic Principles Of Spellcasting
Tumblr media
Law of Similarity
These first two principles are from James Frazer's The Golden Bough and are fundamental to all of magick. Frazer describes this law as "like produces like" . This law says that manipulation of an image or likeness yields manipulation of the thing itself. Here's some examples of the Law of Similarity:
• Stabbing a human-shaped figure with nails or pins to cause pain to the person
• Drawing the practitioner holding their love interest by a leash in a "love leash" spell
• Writing a spell in a circle around someone's name to encircle or restrain them
• Putting a love spell that aims to make the target "burn with love" into a candle flame or oil lamp
• Walking upon a written spell to have the target "underfoot" and under your control
Similarity isn't restricted by literal similarity, it extends to metaphorical similarity as well. Idioms and puns were widely used in Egyptian myth and magick.
Law of Contagion
Frazer puts this one quite well: things which have once been in contact with eachother continue to act on eachother. One can extend this law to say that magickal energy can be transferred or shared between objects by contact and that transferal is strongest if they are in contact or extremely close. Examples include:
• Using the hair of a target in a spell or curse
• Writing a spell to a deity on the hide of a corresponding animal
• Burying a separation spell at the home of a couple to affect them
Hair is super useful (and sometimes required) for any spell targeted at someone. Some even keep or trade hair as collateral.
Note:If you need to perform substitutions in a spell, use the Law of Similarity and Law of Contagion for selecting the substitution, (ie: use red wine mixed with an animal's hair instead of blood from that animal).
Law of Durability
This law is basically covered by the Law of Similarity, but, because it's so important for picking components, it is being included separately. Magick done with more durable components will yield a longer lasting effect. For example, a spoken spell will be weaker than a spell written on parchment. The written spell will be weaker than a spell carved into wood or stone. This applies to enchanting as well; more durable items will stay enchanted longer.
Law of Layering
The Law of Layering must be applied carefully as it is about complementary layers, not throwing a bunch of stuff at a wall. The principle is the more layers that are used in magick, the stronger the magick will be. More layers build more power. Some ways to add layers are:
• Having a pre-spell ritual like bathing and meditating
• Cast spells in a designated space for casting with items designated for magick
• Make motions that mirror the words you're saying
• Add components to your spell via the Law of Similarity, the Law of Contagion, or objects along your correspondence.
• Perform the spell with a group as opposed to solo
• Reinforce a spell by doing it for multiple days, weeks, months, etc. (as in 'once per')
Law of Likeliness
One could compare magick to stacking a deck; you're manipulating chance to get circumstances to fall in your favor. This means two things. The first is magick cannot make the impossible happen. Magick is unlikely to cause things to levitate, or conjure fire from nowhere, or anything that isn't possible in our plane of existence. The second is, if an outcome is less likely, stronger magick is required to achieve it. Some decks are just easier to stack.
Law of Agency
No magick, short of possession, can fully rob a human of their free will. For example, if you cast a love spell on a target who's sexuality doesn't align with yours, it will have little to no effect. If a person is resistant to a certain energy in their day-to-day life, they will similarly be resistant to that same energy when sent via magick.

Blue and orange are complementary colors, which means they are opposite each other on the color wheel, positioning that signifies their complementary nature. When these two colors are placed together, one color tends to make another color stand out, highlighting a contrast. Blue is the color that contrast with orange, they can create the strongest visual impact.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sasuke is associated with blue color and naruto is associated with orange color. On the color wheel, blue is the direct complement of orange. Since orange is a mixture of red and yellow, your complementary colors will be purple and blue respectively. Blue can be the complement of both yellow and orange
VOTE1 & VOTE2 = Blue & Orange
Tumblr media
Blue (Sasuke) is a cold color while Orange (Naruto) is a warm color.
Tumblr media
Kage summit arc
Tumblr media
VOTE2
Tumblr media
Also Sasuke is associated with purple color and naruto is associated with yellow color. Purple and yellow it brings high drama, contrast, and emotional tension. They are each really emotional colors, and they create fantastic tension with each other.
Tumblr media
The giant explosions created by the collision of Rasengan and Chidori in vote1 and vote2 are exactly opposite colors. Naruto's chakra color (yellow) and Sasuke's chakra color (purple)...they are opposite side of each other as well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Note: (Cool colors) Sky-blue, blue and violet/purple indicate night time, means 'yin'. Violet color indicates midnight. (Warm colors) Yellow, orange and red indicate day time, means 'yang'. Naruto & Sasuke colors are complementary and when they combined or mixed, cancel each other out by producing color like "white or black". Sasuke would become 'black' and Naruto 'white'. They are yin & yang.
Tumblr media
Yang began to signify the sun itself and the state of brightness and openness while Yin began to signify the moon and the state of darkness and closeness. As a result, they further derived two mutually complementary principles, of which Yang represents masculinity, light, warmth, dryness hardness, activity, etc., while Yin represents femininity, darkness, cold, moisture, softness, passivity, etc
the interdependence of Yin & Yang means that each of the two aspects is the condition for the other's existence and neither of them can exist in isolation. For instance, without daytime there would be no night; without male there would be no female. Hence, it can be seen that Yin and yang are at once in opposition and in interdependence; they rely on each other for existence, coexisting in a single entity.
The basic idea of Yin and Yang is not just the existence of the binary elements nor the dichotomy of phenomena but the harmony of opposites: they are not just in contrast or contradiction. Through the appropriate combination of Yin and Yang, these co-existing elements create beauty, balance and completeness.
Literally, Yin means dark or shade and Yang means bright or shiny. Both the physical and metaphysical worlds can be defined in terms of the relationship of the binary elements. The coexisteiice of opposites is a universal principle: love and hate, happiness and sadness, life and death, pure and practical, material and spiritual, black and white, and so on. Yin and Yang produce everything in the universe through combining in various proportions. In Onmyōdō, Heaven is Yang and Earth is Yin. Without Yang there is no Yin; without Yin there is no Yang. Both create a totality, a complete whole.

Listen, this could mean nothing, but I do wonder if it’s really a coincidence that the concept of Yin and Yang was used in relation to Jayvik — especially combined with Harry Lloyd’s old comment about how their relationship is needed to keep society together.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It just sticks out to me because I don’t think either idea — not the cosmic symbolism, not the structural importance — is something you’d come up with solely from what’s in the show. Yes, there is a timeline where Piltover is destroyed, but there’s also one where it isn’t. So both of those statements feel like they’re reaching beyond the present plot — like they’re hinting at a greater, long-term significance to Jayce and Viktor’s dynamic. And if that’s the case, I think we all moved on from that way too quickly. Because what do you mean, the relationship of those two nerds in their thirties is the embodiment of the polar yet complementary cosmic principle?? What do you mean they represent light and dark, logic and intuition, feminine and masculine, movement and stillness, warmth and detachment, chaos and order — and somehow it only works because they do it together? I don’t know much about League lore, but I do know there are literal gods in this universe. So choosing to associate Jayce and Viktor — two guys who just really loved doing science together — with that level of universal importance is kind of wild.
And it’s even weirder because usually it’s the fandom that leans into the grand, fantastical interpretations. Comparing them to Yin and Yang adds a symbolic weight to their bond that’s not even necessary to explain the events of the finale. If anything, it elevates it far beyond what any fanfiction I have seen has tried to do - implying that their “fusion” is more than just personal — it’s structural. It’s symbolic of opposite forces becoming inseparable.
But maybe it’s nothing. Maybe it’s just poetic language. Maybe it was just a throwaway thought — a coincidence that both Harry Lloyd and whoever wrote that little exhibition blurb happened to share. Still. Just some food for thought, I guess.

Yab-Yum
Wisdom and compassion can become one.
The Spiritual Symbolism of Yab-Yum
An iconic image associated with tantra, the yab-yum position holds significant prominence within both Hindu and Buddhist tantric art.
The fundamental concept of 'Advaita,' or non-duality within Yab-Yum
In Sanskrit, the term, advaita means non-duality.
Vajrasattva and his consort in Yab-Yum
Vajrasattva is the embodiment of purity and compassion and, in his solitary form, is a familiar subject in Buddhist art.

The Hermetic Laws are seven philosophical principles that govern the functioning of the universe and human nature.
Law of Mentalism
According to this law, “The All is Mind; the Universe is mental.” This means that everything that exists is a mental creation and that the mind is the source of all things. Therefore, it implies that the human mind, being an extension of this universal mind, has the power to influence reality.
Lei da Correspondência
The law of correspondence states that: “As above, so below, and as below, so above.” It therefore establishes that there is a correspondence between the planes of existence and that the human microcosm is governed by the same rules as the universal macrocosm.
Law of Vibration
This principle postulates that: “Nothing stands still; everything moves; everything vibrates.” In essence, the Law of Vibration states that everything in the universe, whether matter or spirit, is in a constant state of motion and possesses a specific vibrational frequency.
According to this law, different levels of existence vibrate at different frequencies. Therefore, things that appear solid and stable in physical reality are actually composed of particles in constant motion.
Law of Polarity
Here we have the idea that: “Everything is dual, everything has two poles, everything has its opposite. Equal and unequal are the same. Extremes meet. All truths are half-truths. All paradoxes can be reconciled.” In view of this, this law emphasizes the duality in all things and that everything has an opposite.
As an example, we can list heat and cold, which are opposites, but both are manifestations of temperature. Likewise, light and darkness are opposites, but both are aspects of light. This principle suggests, then, that opposites are not mutually exclusive, but rather interdependent and interchangeable.
Law of Rhythm
According to this principle: “Everything ebbs and flows; all things rise and fall; the swing of the pendulum manifests itself in everything; the measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates.” In view of this, the Law of Rhythm suggests that everything in the universe is in constant motion and follows natural cycles of growth and decline, advance and retreat.
According to her, every aspect of life is subject to cyclical patterns. This can be observed in the ocean tides, the seasons, the cycles of life and death, and even in human emotions and stages of personal development.
Law of Cause and Effect
This one says that: “Every cause has its effect; every effect has its cause; everything happens according to the Law; chance is nothing but the name given to an unrecognized law; there are many planes of causality, but nothing escapes the Law.”
Taking this into account, every action generates a corresponding reaction, and every event or circumstance is the result of a specific cause. This applies to both the physical and the mental and spiritual levels. For example, positive thoughts tend to generate positive results, while negative thoughts can lead to unfavorable consequences.
Law of Gender
Ultimately, this law states that: “Gender is in everything; everything has its masculine and feminine principles; gender manifests itself on all planes.” This means that both the masculine and feminine principles are present in every aspect of creation and existence, on every level, from the physical to the spiritual.
Thus, the masculine principle is associated with the qualities of initiative, assertiveness, logic and action, while the feminine principle is related to the qualities of receptivity, intuition, nurturing and creativity. These principles do not refer exclusively to biological gender, but rather to complementary forces that coexist and manifest themselves in all things.

✨ Danganronpa: As a Ship ✨
"Like a small dog, he desperately tries to overcompensate by commanding a presence that's infuriatingly impossible to ignore. But I suppose his bite proves more formidable than his bark..."
- Byakuya
"He's an unbearable, arrogant asshole, but I guess he's *my* unbearable arrogant asshole."
- Fuyuhiko
Canon-fueled facts:
While they don't interact directly in-canon, Byakuya does help Fuyuhiko and the rest of his classmates along with Makoto and Kyoko at the end of SDR2.
Bonus Content:
In UTDP, Fuyuhiko offers Byakuya a yakisoba as he's strolling by his food stand. Byakuya declines and they bicker about their differences involving their respective clans and Byakuya calling him an impudent punk, but Fuyuhiko eventually ends the interaction before things get too heated. During this interaction however, Fuyuhiko snarkily comments that Byakuya has guts to say what he does.
Beneficial similarities:
Similar struggles of upholding their famous families' names and have been exposed of the dark and violent side of humanity at a very young age.
Have a strong desire to prove their worth outside of their family's influence.
Incredibly loyal to their principles and people they care about.
Went through similar progressions where they embraced camaraderie and decided to use their power for more inspiring and supportive deeds, bringing the legacy of their families to even greater heights by forging their own paths.
Don't beat around the bush.
Complementary Strengths:
Byakuya's strategic poise balances Fuyuhiko's raw instincts.
Fuyuhiko's street savvy balances Byakuya's refined expertise.
Main Struggles:
Just like their interaction in UTDP shows, they are likely to be at each other's throats often with their overly confrontational and stubborn personalities.
Fuyuhiko would often find Byakuya to be too snobby, and Byakuya would often find Fuyuhiko to be a bit too ill-tempered and volatile.
Their families have differing expectations, methods, and views.
Friends, family, pets:
Ah, a Yakuza clan and a noble family full of privilege...that would cause an outright war and/or loss of body parts...
The relationship between Byakuya and Natsumi as in-laws would be pretty entertaining. Natsumi would hate Byakuya's guts and Byakuya would likely view her as someone with all talk but no bite. However, I honestly dig the idea of them having a familial-like love/hate relationship the more and more time goes by, and share a mutual respect for each other—ironically enough, much like Byakuya and Fuyuhiko. Natsumi could potentially be the closest person he's ever had to a genuine sibling. Speaking of siblings, Fuyuhiko would likely be baffled to discover that Byakuya doesn't have any sort of relationship with any of his own.
Their Love Language (unique to them as a ship):
Byakuya would express his love with actions and practical means. He would use his corporate connections and business sense to ensure Fuyuhiko and the Kuzuryus' needs are met, make time for him in his busy schedule, etc.
Fuyuhiko would also express his love with actions and practical means. He would use his Yakuza connections to gather Intel for Byakuya's business, fiercely defend and protect him, be a grounding presence during high-stress situations, etc.
Challenging each other with a "bring it on " kind of attitude would be their mutual love language.
Combined Lifestyles:
Despite the differences of what their families stand for and how they operate, Byakuya's high-class efficiency meeting Fuyuhiko's street-smart practicality would actually strengthen each other's domain if they choose to adapt.
When they are not being overly stubborn and arguing, their alone time together would be very quiet but meaningful (since they both prefer action over words), surrounded by high-quality decor (a combination of their own unique tastes), organized business necessities, high-end security systems, and so on.

I'm the "2 things about Lily" anon and but she Identifies with Dumbledore
I soooo agree! There is a switch where it begins even. I used to be able to pinpoint the book, the moment where Dumbledore becomes this force of nature that can never go wrong.
I haven't read the books for a while but it happens at the end of the 5th book, I think, the book that is the harshest on Dumbledore (and of course it is! Harry is 15, it's time to become critical of your mentors!! she was always brilliant at child psychology, my mom and all the other moms of my friends loved her for this), and then Sirius dies, and then there is this scene where Harry is screaming at Dumbledore.
And he deals with Harry (of course he does, he is the principle, he loves his job and adores his students, he must deal with several scenes like that per year). And she feels empathy for him. She thinks about her stupid children just not getting her. And it's over.
The next book Harry's grief for Sirius is lesser than it was for Cedric. And Dumbledore graduates to a demigod and dies, achieving sainthood, even though it is obvious that Cedric's death was supposed to be a lesson FOR HIM ALSO. After that the status-quo must be protected at all cost, and her original plan for a man who went trough a lot and tried very hard (because he did! he devoted his life to protecting children like Ariana! he devoted his life to develop tolerance and even love for muggles who did terrible things to her! but Tom was a muggleborn and so so cruel right of the bat, who did he see in him?) and was never perfect, and arguably lost his humanity to the fight, because he accepted to sacrifice a child while avoiding going face-to-face to Voldemort? Never mentioned. The characters are never allowed to react to that. Lupin specifically goes through who knows what so that he doesn't react to that. Only Snape is allowed a word, one word and no contradictions to the great plan, but only because otherwise Snape is unforgivable.
money is poison?
I agree with all of this, and think it's beautifully put. Book 6 & 7 (and the fantastic beasts films...) would have been a lot better if they leaned into Dumbledore's darkness, darkness which is absolutely there.
(here's my own deep dive on dumbledore, in case anyone is interested.)
JKR has talked about how she originally envisioned Albus Dumbledore and Rubeus Hagrid (white and red) as foils but oh boy was that distinction lost:
I named them for the alchemical colours to convey their opposing but complementary natures: red meaning passion (or emotion); white for asceticism; Hagrid being the earthy, warm, physical man, lord of the forest; Dumbledore the spiritual theoretician, brilliant, idealized and somewhat detached.
But this absolutely DOES track with how they're characterized in Philsopher's Stone. Hagrid is kind, comforting, emotionally intuitive, protective, but not much of a planner... while Dumbledore is all mind - weird, brilliant, mad, wise... but not especially cued into the emotional dimension.

Shiva and Uma from a set of modern Nyingmapa tsakli (initiation cards). Umapati is the form of Lord Shiva where he is depicted as the consort of Goddess Uma, also known as Parvati. This form emphasizes the harmonious union of masculine and feminine energies and the ideal of divine partnership.
Umapati, meaning "Lord of Uma" (another name for Goddess Parvati), is a revered form of Lord Shiva that symbolizes the divine union of Shiva and Parvati. In this form, Shiva is portrayed as the devoted husband of Parvati, highlighting the complementary relationship between the masculine and feminine principles in the universe. Umapati represents the ideal of a balanced and harmonious partnership, where Shiva and Parvati together embody the cosmic balance of power, compassion, and wisdom. This form is particularly significant in Hindu mythology as it underscores the importance of marital unity, devotion, and the spiritual partnership between the divine couple. Umapati also symbolizes the inseparable bond between Shiva and Shakti (the divine feminine energy), which is central to many philosophical teachings in Hinduism. This form is often invoked in prayers and rituals seeking blessings for marital harmony, family well-being, and spiritual balance.
Iconography:
In the Umapati form, Shiva is often depicted alongside Goddess Parvati, emphasizing their divine partnership. Shiva is usually portrayed in a calm and composed posture, with Parvati by his side or seated on his lap, symbolizing their unity. He is shown with his traditional attributes such as the crescent moon on his head, the third eye, and the snake around his neck. Parvati is often depicted with a gentle and nurturing expression, complementing Shiva’s serene demeanor. Together, they are shown as an ideal divine couple, embodying the perfect balance of power and grace. Sometimes, they are depicted with their children, Ganesha and Kartikeya, representing the divine family unit. The iconography of Umapati also includes elements like the Himalayas in the background, symbolizing the abode of the divine couple, and the presence of Nandi, Shiva’s bull, representing strength and devotion.
Symbolism and Significance:
Umapati holds deep symbolic meaning in Hindu tradition, primarily representing the ideal of divine partnership and the balance of masculine and feminine energies. This form underscores the importance of marital harmony, where Shiva and Parvati together embody the unity of opposites—Shiva as the ascetic and destroyer, and Parvati as the nurturing mother and creator. Their union represents the integration of spiritual and material aspects of life, emphasizing the need for balance in both worldly and spiritual pursuits. Umapati is also significant in the context of family life, as their relationship is seen as an exemplar of mutual respect, love, and devotion. Worshiping Umapati is believed to bring blessings for marital bliss, family harmony, and overall well-being, making this form of Shiva highly revered among devotees.
Cultural and Artistic Depictions:
Umapati has been a popular subject in Indian art, literature, and temple architecture. This form of Shiva is depicted in numerous sculptures, paintings, and temple reliefs, particularly in South India, where the worship of Shiva and Parvati as a divine couple is prominent. In temple iconography, Umapati is often depicted in the company of Parvati, sometimes with their children, in scenes that reflect domestic bliss and divine love. These depictions can be found in the intricate carvings of temples like the Meenakshi Temple in Madurai and the Brihadeeswarar Temple in Thanjavur.
In addition to visual art, Umapati is celebrated in classical dance forms like Bharatanatyam and Kathak, where the relationship between Shiva and Parvati is explored through expressive storytelling and dance. The divine couple is also a central theme in many devotional songs, hymns, and poetic compositions, where their love and unity are extolled as ideals for human relationships. Through these cultural and artistic depictions, Umapati continues to inspire and guide devotees in their spiritual and personal lives, reinforcing the importance of love, unity, and balance. The Shiva and Uma (Parvati) mantra: "Om Uma Maheshwaraabhyaam Namah", This mantra is believed to invoke the qualities of their relationship, such as unconditional love and understanding, and can be used to promote harmony and balance in one's own life.

Hey Fates first impression anon, I'd love to hear some of the deeper things you like about that game, just some of the stuff the haters don't really bother analyzing. I'm asking because I've seen you mention them broadly a few times by now, but I don't think you've ever listed specific examples aside from the feng-shui analysis (I think that was you, sorry if not). Thanks!
Is it bad if I can't remember if I did the feng-shui stuff either lmaooo.
Nevertheless, Chinese philosophy has a big impact on Fates' themes and messaging in general, yes! And I really enjoy it.
Particularly, what comes to mind is Taoism. Fundamentally (from what I've read), that philosophy means "religion of the way" which rings to Fates central driving point of making a choice to walk down a certain path.
To link to the Wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taoism
Tao means "the natural way of the universe", perceived not as something visible, but experienced as everyday life.
The practice emphasizes self-cultivation and harmonious existence, as well as effortless action (Wu wei), naturalness (Ziran), simplicity (Pu), and the three treasures of compassion, frugality and humility.
When Buddhism was introduced to China, it and Taoism mutually influenced each other, hence why there are Buddhist influences in Fates as well (Anankos' statue being Buddha inspired).
The virtues espoused in Taoism and Buddhism line up with Corrin's personality to a T. He's compassionate, humble, humane, and authentic. He falters when he doubts his instincts and natural perception, and blossoms when his foundations are supported.
There's also the Yin-Yang symbol, another staple of Chinese philosophy.
Tumblr media
As noted, It is representative of principles that ineract, interconnect and perpetuate each other. More than anything, they are thought as simultaneously complementary and opposing forces that, when whole, form something greater than the the parts.
Most apparent, is the light within the dark, and the dark within the light. This symbolism applies to Hoshido and Nohr, where the former is peaceful yet is deeply isolationist and has the capacity for xenophobic violence and discrimination, and the latter is warmongering yet has truly good individuals merely stuck in a bad situation.
Verbatim, this is what Ryoma and Xander say at their coronations in Birthright and Conquest respectively.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Themes of duality, of mutual trust, influencing and complementing each other, a unity of opposites. This is taoism and yin-yang philosophy.
Another small thing is how Yin (the Dark half with a Light dot) is feminine and Yang (the Light half with the Dark dot) is masculine, which fits how Female Corrin usually represents Nohr and Male Corrin usually represents Hoshido.
What's most important to me in particular, is the literary theme of breaking out of an established status quo, where violence and misunderstanding is treated as a natural and unmoving fact of life.
This is symbolized by Anankos, god of wisdom, a Buddha-like figure who followed Taoist ideals until his descent into madness. Said descent was spurned on by delaying his ascension into a higher plane. He was unable to let go of earthly attachment (his genuine love for humans) and so strayed from the path of wisdom. He lost the part that loves himself and humans when he couldn't control his draconic urges (something that wouldn't have been a problem had he ascended like the other First Dragons) and once humans started fearing him, he began harboring resentment. Ultimately he began to corrupt himself and the world around him.
Corrin, representing universal truth, compassion, and intrinsic duality, rejects this supposed reality, the one that was fostered by a corrupted Anankos. How much of Corrin's attitude is immature naivete, and how much is actually an insightful belief untouched by the world's sins? It's, in fact, not natural to war with one another, to kill on the basis of belief of differences, to reject unity or compassion. Killing itself is bad! And Fates treats death and killing with the weight that's necessary. It's something I really respect as a person who's constantly being beaten down mentally by how the real world wants to force this same message onto everyone.
Thank you for the ask! I hope it was sufficient! I can definitely think of more, but the brain is on cooldown at the moment haha.

I have a confession to make! As much as I want to like modern Reimu, I actually have a very big problem with her current design! 7.5 is where it all began.
Tumblr media
As cute as she looks in her portrait and sprite... That yellow tie, I just hate it. It really screws with her image and signature colour scheme - at least the way I see it. To me, Reimu is primarily defined by the crisp contrast of her classic shrine maiden colours: red, white and black. So, really, introducing anything else but the colour of her skin is kind of a loss in my book. That being said, the yellow is especially unappealing to me. The blue tie she wore in a few of the games isn't as bad. Red and blue is just a nicer combination - blue is far enough from red to be close to complementary, so it works better at providing a pleasant sense of contrast than the much closer yellow does despite similarly not fitting the theme. But, above all, red and yellow combinations and yellow in general are just not to my taste. I don't hate it all the time on principle, but it's often hard to like. Usually, it feels unpleasantly warm, cheap and even dirty. So, basically, giving her red outfit a yellow accessory a loss in both ways to me. It's a bit sad that ZUN appears to have abandoned the pure red and white look. Reimu has only had her red tie for two games! As iconic as those games are, naturally, the most commonly used colour would become the most widespread in fanworks. What a shame!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In both of these instances, red just looks better on her, much more miko-like, much more focused in adhering to the outfit's colour scheme. I can really get a feel for the character with how clear and simple the thought behind her is, she fairly easily reads as a fantastical miko, despite the outfit not being very much like an actual shrine maiden's. Overall, this minimalistic colour scheme gives her a very cohesive look while not feeling homogenous. So of course the yellow tie would be a significant downgrade in my eyes! Really messes with that cohesion. It's genuinely one of the reasons I dislike the newer games - this ill-fitting and unpleasant colour combination appears to be permanent now. It only adds insult to injury that the previous version was so good and that it came and went so quickly. It's painful to see such a pretty thing replaced by what I see as worse in every way.
But neither th6's nor th7's Reimu is actually my very favourite. That has got to be top001.jpg. Here, she's much more miko-like than her modern iterarions, with her entire top being white instead of just the sleeves, but also more decorated and contrast-heavy than the PC98 version. The balance is perfect. It's one of the best ZUN drawings, too, despite being a simple portrait. Delightfully of its time. Big love to top001.jpg Reimu.
Tumblr media
My second favourite is Zun004.jpg, of course. The outfit looks like a lighter and more casual version of top001.jpg. I even get the impression that the clothes are the same, just with a simple white undershirt instead of a white-trimmed red one (or two undershirts, a red and a white one, it's up to personal preference, really). The two outfits can definitely exist side-by-side, alternating depending on the occasion.
Tumblr media
I understand that this is a stupid and obtuse way to view things, but I like what I like, so it can't be helped!
