Behold, Yonal's first friends! Severus was the one to introduce him to Lily and she immediately adopts him upon hearing that Yonal defended Sev from the Marauders. YIPPEE BESTIES BEST FRENS !!!
He has brown hair and brown eyes during the 1st to 2nd years and only changed his appearance that we all know at the start of 3rd year. His personality was very different too in comparison to his blue hair era. He was a shy and timid lil' boy with a squeaky voice and a strong foreign accent. He got bullied a lot and if he wasn't getting bullied, he was often ignored bc of how small and quiet he was. Puberty hit him like a train in 3rd year DHFGDHGH

The fact that Yuan was in Lili's room when Qian found the ultrasound meant that Lili asked for help from her brother to protect her boyfriend from...her brother.
And the fact that she knew that their best chance to convince Qian and make sure that he doesn't kill San Pang is to get Yuan involved. To tell Qian on their terms before he can find out for himself. Since it didn't go to well when Qian found out about their relationship and Yuan just sat there and did nothing (god bless him that's still my favorite scene). Qian was mad for a looooong time after finding out about their relationship.
Getting Yuan involved and also setting it up so Qian finds out while they're all in a relatively safe space but together while still telling him and not keeping things from him meant that Qian didn't stay angry for long. It also helped because as much as Yuan loves Qian romantically, he loves Lili as his sister. He is also protective of her but he's much more reasonable about it because he doesn't have the same family trauma that Qian has. Yuan can help smooth things over not just because Qian loves him and listens to him but because Yuan loves Lili and sees what makes her happy and wants the best for her.
This show is so good and I love the romance of it all but I just had to say something about how much I loved the siblingship between Yuan and Lili. Lili let Yuan into that home and in doing so gave herself something more than just a brother. She gave herself a friend that would help when she needed help and would love and support both her and Qian unconditionally.

Marineford Law is no question interesting to me because he pulled off a surprise, motherfucker moment and the timing was so good to the point that both pirates and marines least expected it.
Before I proceed with this self-indulgent lawlu meta post, I will go ahead and say that everything that happened between them in Marineford is a catalyst of establishing their connection later on in the future arcs. I am a firm believer that those feelings™️ started to truly bloom in Punk Hazard and went downhill in a good way in Dressrosa.
Long post ahead. Enjoy!
When I was rewatching Marineford arc, the part where Buggy was already carrying an unconscious and injured Luffy and Jimbei, their conversation sparked my interest.
Highlighting the bit where Buggy was confused about Law's verbal tic of using the suffix -ya in referring to anyone, overall doubting him, then asking for Law's name. Don't forget that Law is a little shit (affectionate) so he proceeded to ignore all of those questions to say this:
Tumblr media
Interestingly enough, this part is tricky to translate. I found two translations that closely encapsulate what Law wanted to say here but mind you, and I will sound redundant about this with everything that has got to do with Trafalgar Law's speech patterns: he likes speaking in runarounds, purposely using terms with double meanings and connotations on them, and he's both reticent and cryptic. (I wouldn't say not to trust on his words but don't take them at face value.)
Law described his connection with Luffy as 悪縁 (akuen) which directly translates as evil destiny or connection.
Forgive me for a bit of sidetracking but the kanji used for akuen is the same with Robin's epithet which is "Demon Child" (akuma no ko). To further elaborate, 悪 (aku) means evil--both as intent and violating a moral code. It is also used to refer as the direct opposite of good.
Tumblr media
Going back to 悪縁 (akuen), in true Law fashion, this word doesn't only mean evil destiny or connection. Depending on the context, it can also mean unfortunate love.
(It sounds tragic coming from him, isn't it? If your mind was blown after this part, no worries, I am too. This part gave me so much whiplash when I was researching about it.)
So, considering these two interpretations of 悪縁 (akuen), that begs the question, what is Law's connection with Luffy?
On surface-level, they are enemies as Law said so himself. They're rivals when it comes to One Piece. Their common ground, which is only known among people that Law trusts the most, is sharing the same secret name of D. However, I will take one step ahead and say that they both went through the same tragic fate of losing their loved ones, for being weak and powerless to protect them. They were both involved in circumstances where if they were capable enough, they could've saved the person they loved the most. Doomed by the narrative and subjected to trauma that breaks their heart and spirit should they be lesser men to handle such misery and grief. It is unfortunate, disastrous, and cursed to love fully knowing the fact that the other person could die like the ones before them but these two have the biggest heart.
Of course, Law will never say it directly. Thus, settling for 悪縁 (akuen).
It gets better. He did say 悪縁も縁 (akuen mo en) and 縁 (en) itself means fate or destiny (especially a mysterious force that binds two people together). Additionally, も (mo) is also a particle that is used for emphasis.
The implication, in turn, of what Law said to Buggy can be translated this way: Strawhat-ya and I (will) eventually be enemies, but an evil connection is (the futuristic possibility of Luffy becoming his enemy) is fate (that binds them).
Law made sure to emphasize that their "evil connection" is fate: specifically, that mysterious force brought them together and compelled him to be there, that he was meant to sail to Marineford, and help Luffy escape.
These two translations are the closest that I found to be accurate but it's still scratching the surface of what Law said:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This entire panel between Ivankov and Law makes it funnier because he clocked him IMMEDIATELY.
Tumblr media
Ivankov asked if he's friends with Luffy to which he replied: no.
Tumblr media
He also emphasized that that he doesn't have any obligation to help him but then went on to say this:
親切 (shinsetsu) means kind, generous, gentle, considerate. 不安 (fuan) refers to anxiety, uneasiness, worry, apprehension. These are surprisingly direct words but of course, Law had to go back and be cryptic again when he followed up with 理屈 (rikutsu), which could mean two things: theory, reason, logic or (unreasonable) argument, excuse.
I think this panel did a good job for translating it.
Tumblr media
Law himself is providing Ivankov here the benefit of the doubt. To reiterate, Ivankov beats him to the punch which makes their entire interaction so funny.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Again, brilliant translation for directly calling out Law's bullshit. Lmao. Ivankov says 直感 (chokkan) here. It means intuition, instinct, hunch. Please take the next statement that I will say with a grain of salt but "instinctively moving your body" is usually associated with the context of being reckless to the point of directly exposing oneself to danger, consequences be damned, in order to protect someone.
Even Law himself acknowledged that he's not obligated to be there, so why?
Unfortunately, this is the elephant in the room that Law will never address. Several characters even made sure to point out that he helped Luffy two years ago and he purposely dodges that topic.
One thing I can guarantee is that Law never did it to get Luffy to agree for the alliance. Hell, he thought of the alliance after reuniting with Luffy! He adjusted his plans by then. Additionally, he never used the fact that he saved Luffy's life as his bargaining chip and leverage to get him on board the alliance.
Lastly, this is too much for saving a life on a whim, isn't it, Law?

why does voldemort fall unconscious when he kills harry in the forbidden forest?
Ohhh, that's an interesting question, sorry it took me a while to get to it, life's been lifeing.
Harry closed his eyes again and considered what he had seen. The Death Eaters had been huddled around Voldemort, who seemed to have fallen to the ground. Something had happened when he had hit Harry with the Killing Curse. Had Voldemort too collapsed? It seemed like it. And both of them had fallen briefly unconscious and both of them had now returned. . . .
(DH, 612)
Firstly, I don't think it's because of the Horcrux, there's something else at play here. I don't believe it's the Horcrux becouse Voldemort didn't react like this to the death of any other Horcrux. Even when Nagini, the final Horcrux dies, he doesn't pass out in the same way:
The slash of the silver blade could not be heard over the roar of the oncoming crowd or the sounds of the clashing giants or of the stampeding centaurs, and yet it seemed to draw every eye. With a single stroke Neville sliced off the great snake’s head, which spun high into the air, gleaming in the light flooding from the entrance hall, and Voldemort’s mouth was open in a scream of fury that nobody could hear, and the snake’s body thudded to the ground at his feet—
(DH, 618)
So, this is a unique reaction to Harry dying, not the Horcrux in Harry dying.
Now, there are two magical bonds between them at the moment that could cause something like this:
1. Harry is the true master of the Elder Wand, which Voldemort used to kill him.
The theory here is that essentially the same thing that'll happen later happens here. The curse partially rebounds back on the caster. Personally, I don't think this is what caused the reaction.
Yes, rebounding spells aren't very predictable, and it is possible a rebounding killing curse won't kill you, but it's more likely it will. The fact Voldemort didn't die, like later when his spell rebounds but Harry does die, to me suggests it's not a rebounding spell from the Elder Wand. Because the curse did hit Harry.
Which brings me to the second and likelier cause:
2. Lily's blood protection that now lives inside Voldemort.
I talked about the blood protections a bit here and how I separated it into two different protections. The lingering protection from Lily and the blood wars Dumbledore placed on the Dursleys' house. The blood ward fell the moment Harry turned 17, but Lily's protection doesn't care for his age, it's a spell of intention, of her will for her son to survive and it doesn't have a time limit.
Voldemort then kills Harry. The protection exists in him too, so it allows him to do it. The protection doesn't recognize him as an enemy it should protect against but an extension of Harry.
But if Harry's dead, what happens to the magical protection that exists to keep him alive?
It ceases to be.
If there is no Harry to protect, Lily's protection has no cause to exist anymore. Lily's magic considered Voldemort an extension of Harry, and Harry can't be alive if he's dead, so I believe Voldemort got hit with the shock wave of Lily's protection breaking — violently — and that's what caused him to "pass out".
The fact Voldemort wakes up at the same time as Harry strengthens my belief that it is this connection that caused him to pass out. That Lily's magic "killed" Voldemort when Harry was dead and he then returned at the same time Harry did. After all, Harry's blood is the spirit or life component in Voldemort's new body — Lily's magic is keeping him alive — his life is tied to Harry's. This magic ceasing to be momentarily when Harry is dead would kill Voldemort's body in a different way than a killing curse. The moment Harry wakes up, Voldemort wakes up too, both dying, both coming back.
"And both of them had fallen briefly unconscious and both of them had now returned"
As for how Harry can kill Voldemort later if the protection works like this, well, I believe it's one sided. Voldemort is the extension of Harry, not the other way around. Harry dying and Voldemort not dying doesn't make sense to the magic because it's like saying the heart stopped beating but the right hand is still moving, it can't be. On the other hand, an arm can definitely break without killing the rest of the body. This is why Harry can kill Voldemort, but Voldemort can't kill Harry without killing himself too (twice over).
Basically, Voldemort lost the moment he killed Lily. Her protection wouldn't let him kill Harry as himself, and once he took some of the protection into himself, it allowed him to kill Harry, but it killed him too.

Unknown, Ep 11: To Grow Taller
Alright y’all, I just want to say that I am not super thrilled with how Episode 11 went. I felt like they completely obliterated the emotional build up to the change over after they did such a great job of navigating it in Episode 10.
So as much as there were some lovely images of hands, I’m not that interested in writing about it. So it is time, it is time to do the thing I should have done long ago.
It is time to write about Lili and San Pang.
Hands down my favorite part of this episode (and probably one of my favorite scenes of the series) was seeing the two of them interact, of seeing more of Lili’s inner workings, of understanding that she knows more than she lets on. I loved Yuan telling Qian that Lili is smart, and I loved the proud little smile Qian had when he heard that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The most important scene in this episode, to me, starts with the height wall. That thing has been causing me psychic damage since episode one. It pans down to Lili. I like how long the camera lingers on her eyes. Lili has seen everything that has happened in their lives and she’s been spared from a lot of the violence, but that doesn’t mean she hasn’t beared witness to it.
I was really struck by her words to San Pang:
“When we were little, Qian was always there to help us with everything we did. He would measure our height every year. I always wondered when I could grow taller than him. Then I could protect him.”
Tumblr media
I know we have seen Lili constantly take a back seat in this story. We have seen her even acknowledge Qian’s focus on Yuan multiple times throughout the show. We don’t see her doing as much for Qian as Yuan does. She doesn’t know how to wrap up leftovers, she’s not a great cook, she doesn’t try to pay the household bills. But that’s because she loves Qian like a sister does, she’s got a secure position in the household, she’s not trying to be Qian’s partner, and it is a testament to Qian’s love for Lili that she does not know how to do some of the basic life things, because it means that she’s been so well taken care of she hasn’t been forced to learn.
There are all these little elements scattered across the series that show Qian’s love for Lili. The picture on his desk at home is of him, Yuan, and Lili at Qian’s graduation. He has the magazine she’s featured in on display. He immediately softens on his anger towards her relationship with San Pang when she asks him to go on a family vacation.
She has seen how much Qian has suffered, and she loves Qian enough to want to shield him from any more harm.
Tumblr media
And San Pang is so lovely in this scene, with his head resting on the stair railing, a sleepy look of love on his face as he stares at Lili. I love the way San Pang smiles to himself when she tells him this. Because Qian is family to San Pang and San Pang is family to Qian. San Pang loves Qian and wants what is best for him always. And I do think there is a difference there between the soft, dreamy, comfortable expression he has when looking at the woman he loves, and the small smile that lights up his eyes at the thought of Lili loving her brother enough to want to protect him.
Tumblr media
Lili’s face is serious, and she does not always look in San Pang’s direction when she talks:
“Even though he is a few years older than us, his hands are always covered in scars and calluses.” Lili tells the ground. It’s interesting to me to see when she is comfortable enough reviving a memory to look San Pang in the eyes because she doesn’t do so until partway through her hand cream story:
“One year, I took the hand cream my classmates gave me” she looks at San Pang “and rubbed it on his hands at midnight.”
Tumblr media
The camera cuts to San Pang who is listening to Lili absolutely enraptured by her. And I do have to commend the show for how they have navigated Lili and San Pang’s relationship change. In very few frames, with little fanfare or flare they have made San Pang and Lili’s relationship clear, understandable, and believable. We’ve had like, two minutes of them together up through now, and all I need to believe these two will be together forever is all in the way that San Pang looks at Lili. That man is not only head over heels in love with Xiao Bao, he’s ass over tea kettle in love with her as well.
Tumblr media
“He scolded me for it. Do you know why?”
“I do.” San Pang says with a smile. And I love that because we remember that San Pang and Qian have grown up together. San Pang has been helping take care of Qian and the rest of the family for years. You know in the way that San Pang smiles that he is remembering Qian as a young man complaining about Lili lotioning his hands in the middle of the night. Hell, I can picture Qian’s rant right now. “Because it smelled like roses.”
Tumblr media
Lili laughs and covers her face in embarrassment. “That’s right.”
But like a lot of scenes in this show, the transition from lighthearted to more serious changes on a dime. Lili’s face slips back in to a frown as she turns over a thought. “Nobody cares about Qian.”
Tumblr media
And this is what it feels like sometimes, with how stubborn Qian is, with how much weight he wants to carry for himself, with how much debt he owes to the likes of Le, Xiong, and San Pang. But they don’t expect repayment, they did this because they care about Qian. San Pang has helped Qian weather many many storms. He has pushed when Qian needed pushing, he has pulled when Qian needed to be held back.
“Yes, they do. We all love your brother.”
Tumblr media
Qian has so much love in his life, if only he stopped long enough to see it. If only he let go long enough to feel it. I was not thrilled with how they fumbled so much of the emotional weight of Qian and Yuan getting together in this episode, but I am glad the show took time to highlight how much they all love Qian and to show the audience that they want to protect Qian just as much as Qian wants to protect the rest of them.
All this to say San Pang and Lili work incredibly well together as a couple, and I’m so happy that we got to have this little moment between them, both to breathe a bit more life in to their relationship and to remind us all that Yuan is right. Lili is not as naive as she seems.

Jinman didn't leave Jian to fend for herself for no reason, that man came back bloodied and needing to be carried to walk, he was not taking a nap and eating popcorn while watching her get wrecked. He also prepared a defense system for her (that didn't work and I hope those 18 code reds that didn't follow the rule get fucked), he also made the house and the shop fortresses he also knew his closest friends would be there to protect her. He did what he could.

James and Harry for the drabble thing? Please and thank you <3
i. i never realised how less 100 words was???? pls no one count this it was my first attempt. i promise i’ll do better w the next 😭
“Dad, I’ve been flying since I was a year old,” Harry deadpans, hands balled on his hips. “Literally.”
“Yes, well, I didn’t sign up for that, now, did I,” James Potter grumbles. His hair, an unruly mop on a good day, now resembles an electrified raccoon. He doesn’t seem to care as his hands reach up to pull at it again. “I still haven’t forgiven Sirius for it, you know.”
“Dad.”
“Baby, you’re only twelve,” his father pleads, hazel eyes beseeching. “It’s not safe for you to be so high up. Trust me, I’d know.”
“Yes, because you were on the team in your second year,” Harry hisses in return. His ears feel warm, and there’s a telltale stinging in his eyes. “It’s not fair.”
With that declaration, he stomps away to his room, realising he was being childish but not being able to help it.
James stares at his son’s retreating back helplessly, hands fluttering in a futile attempt to do something.
“You deserved that, you know.” An amused voice pops up behind him and he shoots a dark glare at his wife leaning against the wall. “Acting all holier-than-thou when all of us know about the stunts you’ve pulled on a broom.”
“Yes, well. Harry’s just a child,” he harrumphs; it’s a familiar refrain. Lily just hums in response.
“And I’d like you to remember what you were doing as a child, at his age,” she says casually before walking off.
James’ face drains of all color at her words. They’d discovered Remus’ secret in second year and after that—
Oh fuck.
Send me a drabble prompt!

What if by the end of the story we return to the original timeline, but the characters keep their memories of mikuni's latest timeline?
The difference between the two versions of touma's and mahiru's relationship to each other alone has the potential to cause their brains to suffer a meltdown😅
On the other hand, maybe it could open the door to them being able to celebrate tsurugi's birthday together as a family without either one wanting to punch the other.

losing my mind. does anyone know what Killua's flowers are on that one hxh mobage card? they look like peach blossoms? maybe? but I'm not 100% sure and it's driving me crazy.
Leorio has irises, Kurapika an anemone, and Gon has lily-of-the-valley, which are all so on the nose for them so I really want to confirm Killua's.
