HAZARDQUEER / DANGERQUEER

hazardqueer is an identity/movement that i thought of last night and i really liked the concept so i thought about it some more and made some flags. i made it partially in response to an exclusionist term called "safequeer" which excludes some marginalized identities like mspec gays (not very safe huh)

its about being your unapologetic and queerest self, supporting and uplifting disabled people, POC, ND people, and queer people, and solidarity and unity amongst each other!!

its also acknowledging that we shouldn't have to pander to non-queer people by having to have "safe" and "palatable" identities and that we should strive to be happy and authentic with ourselves rather than trying to put each other into boxes non-queers have tried to put us in for so long

this is an inclusionist term/movement, so no meanies!! >:(

this is also pro mspec gays, pro lesboys/veldigirls, pro chronosians, and pro systems of all origins, so if you don't like that, then don't use hazardqueer!! simple as that

this is however against: pro-contact/anti-recovery of harmful paras, "consang", and bad faith/harmful trans-x identities

We've made many posts on this before, so I don't need to reiterate all of our points on it. If you want links to more in-depth posts on this I can grab them for you.

But the point is: We will not be pushed out of DID/OSDD/Disordered system spaces. But we're quoigenic, isn't that invading spaces? We are literally diagnosed with DID. But we support endos, isn't that invading spaces? We are literally diagnosed with DID, why does our stance matter if it's a space about the disorder we have? But we [insert something else here], isn't that invading spaces? DID systems can access DID system spaces. End of story.

We've went long enough sitting here allowing ourselves to be pushed out of spaces we belong in, sitting in a grey area of not relating wholly to endogenics and not being allowed to dare look at DID spaces because we, checks notes, don't hate people for existing and hm let me see here, have headmates separate from our DID formed ones that we also see as people. Interesting how that works. But we're done with it. We WILL tag our posts with the OSDDID tags, the actually DID tags, the disordered system tags, the systempunk tags and whatever else where applicable. Why? We're a part of the damn groups that belong there. And we're done with making ourselves so small and inoffensive because either way we get hate. We have DID, we can enter DID spaces, that's final. We're growing to be more open and unapologetic about who we are and this is another step toward that. Not letting discourse walk all over where we put our posts.

Like yes, people without disordered symptoms don't need to access purely disordered spaces. I get that. But guess what? We are literally disordered. That isn't going to change because we also have soulbonds. Being so strongly anti-endo hurts people with the very disorder you claim to protect. You don't care about systems, you don't care about people with DID, because if you did, you wouldn't kick out systems with DID who are pro-endo. You wouldn't hate mixed origin systems with DID. If you cared about the disorder and people with it, there wouldn't be an "except those ones" box you put people you disagree with in.

Hurting people with disorders based on unrelated views isn't helping anyone. It isn't punk. It isn't inclusionist. It isn't protecting anything except the echo chamber of hate.

Basically rosiecommie/Julia made some post about inclusionists not being punk. I responded in a joking manner because fuck them and zelys said op wasnt punk because exclusionists tend to attract terfs and truscum. Julia then decided to tell then to die a bunch, and when zelys blocked them they evaded the block 3 different times to keep rolling them to die and mocking then for being bothered by it. Eventually zelys, someone who doesnt live anywhere near Julia and only knows their tumblr blog, said that if the font stop bothering them they'll call the cops/sue. Julia kept bothering them and after zelys blocked for a 4th time they said zelys is trying to out them to their parents so they can get killed.I think that's bullshit, but exclusionists are acting like zelys satan for threatening a minor, so here we are

I don’t know if I’d say I’m really “in” solarpunk the way a lot of people are, but I’m certainly very interested in and admiring of the concept.

At one point when trying to describe the concept to my bf, he wanted to know “Okay, but if it’s ‘punk’ then it has to be rebelling against something. Cyberpunk was a response to the rise of corporatism in the ‘80s. What is solarpunk an answer to?”

And probably someone who is “in” the solarpunk community could answer this better than me, but after thinking about it for a while, I replied “White hegemony in science fiction.”

There’s a very distinct aesthetic in modern western visions of the future, much of which comes from a community of science fiction storytellers in the first half of the 20th century -- and most (though not all) of these authors were white men. They built a vision of a future where human society is composed of towering brutalist architecture, gleaming bare metal and white plastic, nuclear power and nuclear fallout, sterility and uniformity. A future where the rational indo-european man wields the powers of a god, and deliberates at length on the best ways to use them to shape his fellow man and the universe around them. While there are exceptions -- Ursula LeGuin was an enormously powerful influence, and Al Feldstein’s Judgment Day  certainly springs to mind -- the fact remains that these exceptions had to struggle to be allowed a place in the narrative. Reading the foundation of Western science fiction, one could certainly come to the conclusion that The Future Is White.

This is not intended as an admonishment towards those authors; they weren’t (necessarily) trying to built a future that was exclusionist. But the fact remains that they were the foundation upon which the rest of the science fiction tradition was built. Modern science fiction has become much more inclusionist and diverse, but still refers back to that foundation as a touchstone, paying homage to the classics and using the vocabulary and the tropes built by that generation.

Solarpunk offers an alternative vision where The Future Is Not (Always) White. Buildings that aren’t brutal. Cities that aren’t sterile. Clothing that is aesthetic rather that ascetic. Power drawn from the sun and the wind, not from radioactive isotopes. Nature that is nurtured, not subjugated. Human beings -- both men and women -- who aren’t cold, aren’t emotionless, and who especially aren’t white.
