It was the soul of a Hero Chao that died when players weren't there to take care of it. Maka must've inherited from the Chao World when she was visits Chao World everyday to meet her world's true creator, Shinra Kusakabe. To neutralize Maka's negative energy from the Hero Chao's soul, one person has a heart filled with light and positive energy, but the other has a heart and filled with the power of darkness and it could be the Negative energy. That's how Light and Darkness combine together as a force to neutralize all the negative energy to swept away and light shall be restored a person's heart with love.

Medea sits on the porch of her house in Corinth after killing her children, in a short moment of contemplation, waiting for the arrival of Iason and her final triumph over him. She is the Deus ex Machina in her own play. She doesn't need a god to intervene on her behalf, she is half-god herself.

The Medea of Euripides is probably one of my favourite plays of all time with Medea being one of my favourite characters ever put on stage. Euripides is a master of the pyschological thriller and the portrait he paints of Medea the child-killer, Medea the witch, Medea the wronged woman, Medea the hated foreigner, is still so modern and so topical, even now almost 2500 years later.

Has there ever been a more beautiful man than Alain Delon in the 60s?

Currently on a marathon and except for Rocco and His Brothers which was a little too melodramatic for my taste—PTSD from growing up with telenovelas—I feel like I’ve stumbled upon a motherload of cinematic gems. When they say “they don’t make movies like these anymore” this is what they mean…

Purple Noon is the first film adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s The Talented Mr. Ripley. Gotta suspend your disbelief that Delon would (literally) kill to be someone else during that era, but it’s still a gripping watch. From the fashion to the cinematography, a visual feast as well.

I only knew that Le Samouraï was a highly-rated classic and that it was a crime thriller… I wasn’t aware of its legacy. As the story unfolded though, it dawned on me: “Ahhh this is the film all THOSE other movies want to be.” David Fincher’s The Killer was foremost on my mind. And Delon’s Jef Costello, to this day, lives on in many characters, particularly in portrayals of antiheros.

There WAS a reason La Piscine reminded me so much of Luca Guadanino’s A Bigger Splash… it’s the source material. I’d bet good money the storyline in the second season of HBO’s White Lotus (the one with Aubrey Plaza, Will Sharpe, Meghann Fahy, and Theo James) also took inspiration from this. What a film though. Although I could anticipate where it was going, it still held me in rapt suspense. The lush cinematography, the tight script, the beautiful quartet spiraling into pyschological warfare… I loved every gnarly sexy minute of it.

Going slightly off-topic, if they ever make a biopic of this man's life, I can totally see Daniel Brühl playing him.

Hear me out: he has a similar mix of manly and boyish features (dude could probably play the 25-year-old version if he shaved off his beard); he's not French but he can speak the language well and also has that European charm and elegance going for him; he has a way of capturing a person's essence even though he doesn't resemble them much in real life (e.g. Niki Lauda in Rush and Karl Lagerfeld in Becoming Karl Lagerfeld); and he's a phenomenal and dedicated actor known for his portrayal of morally ambiguous characters, which, from what I've gathered, Delon was.

That he was a massive fan growing up probably helps, too. I wouldn't be surprised if he's seen all of his movies. This was from decades ago, but it's the most Delon-esque photo of Brühl's I could find...

I know people on tumblr looove stories of underwater cave diving, but I haven't seen anyone talk about nitrogen narcosis aka "raptures of the deep"

basically when you want to get your advanced scuba certification (allowing you to go more than 60 feet deep) you have to undergo a very specific test: your instructor takes you down past the 60+ foot threshold, and she brings a little underwater white board with her.

she writes a very basic math problem on that board. 6 + 15. she shows it to you, and you have to solve it.

if you can solve it, you're good. that is the hardest part of the test.

because here's what happens: there is a subset of people, and we have no real idea why this happens only to them, who lose their minds at depth. they're not dying, they're not running out of oxygen, they just completely lose their sense of identity when deep in the sea.

a woman on a dive my instructor led once vanished during the course of the excursion. they were diving near this dropoff point, beyond which the depth exceeded 60 feet and he'd told them not to go down that way. the instructor made his way over to look for her and found a guy sitting at the edge of the dropoff (an underwater cliff situation) just staring down into the dark. the guy is okay, but he's at the threshold, spacing out, and mentally difficult to reach. they try to communicate, and finally the guy just points down into the dark, knowing he can't go down there, but he saw the woman go.

instructor is deep water certified and he goes down. he shines his light into the dark, down onto the seafloor which is at 90 feet below the surface. he sees the woman, her arms locked to her sides, moving like a fish, swimming furiously in circles in the pitch black.

she is hard to catch but he stops her and checks her remaining oxygen: she is almost out, on account of swimming a marathon for absolutely no reason. he is able to drag her back up, get her to a stable depth to decompress, and bring her to the surface safely.

when their masks are off and he finally asks her what happened, and why was she swimming like that, she says she fully, 100% believed she was a mermaid, had always been a mermaid, and something was hunting her in the dark 👍

Seto : Well, yeah. I'm the Death God's apprentice alright.

Sonic : But you're a girl from a world called Needless, ain't it? That's a Seinen Manga.

Seto : I used to be in the world of Needless before I was brought into Real World AU, just like everyone who existed within this place. Me, a girl with blond hair, red ribbon for a hair ornament, and of course, me with a huge-ass sword. Pretty cool for a Shinigami to wield, eh? But I'm also the master of disguises.

Sonic : So this is where Sega is getting the ideas of a Greek Theme-levels for me, I wonder what kind of level is going to be. So after that meeting a cat person that came out of nowhere, What do you have something left from Metal Sonic after he was restored?

Seto : Well, there's one thing's for sure. After you defeated in his monstrous form, or his Overlord Form, Metal Sonic wounded up with community service after Egg Pawns exposed him for his rebellious crimes against both man and machines by combing data and Chaos to become the ultimate overlord.

Sonic : Community Service? Is there a reason why he used an armada to take over the world.

Seto : Yes, I discovered that he tricked all of you to thinking that the Eggman Fleet was only a diversion orchestrated by him to lure you out and the Chaotix were the only ones who founded Eggman in the flagship.

Sonic : What!? So the plot of Sonic Heroes was only...just a Diversion only for Metal Sonic to have a rematch with me? Can't believe that he sure had us fooled. Who knew that he was only toying with us from the start?

Seto : Let's see. First, after obtaining his Neo Metal form, he acquired Chaos Data from Chao and frogs, All life form data from you, data from the Chaotix, and of course--Ultimate Life Form Data from Shadow and Black Doom.

Sonic : [spits out his coffee] What did you say...?

Seto : Well I just said Shadow and Black Doom. What's the deal?

Sonic : Please, tell me you did said about Black Doom's name. Why did Metal Sonic copied data from alien that contacted Gerald 50 years ago!?

Seto : To be honest, that alien wasn't from 50 years ago, he's master's enemy that was trying hunt down in your world before he contacted Gerald to star the cause of that massacre over year ago. I heard that his resides from a flying bursting object known as the Black Comet, that first landed on the ARK to make contact in order to bring Shadow to life, and then start the massacre which turns out to be a manhunt.

Sonic : How did you not know that Shadow and Black were on that manhunt list. And for me, I was on that list too. Grim told us that he scolded the government for being selfish and arrogant, so he killed all of the soldiers who arrived on the ARK after terrible massacre-manhunt thing.

Seto : Yeah, I'm afraid so. Are you still going to finish your ice cream, I would've gotten myself a major brain freeze.

Solva : Seto! Wait up! There's something fishy with the "Other" Eggman I must tell you about!...Oh, why did she run off without warning her something? I guess I gotta pay this for the food. (runs off)

Seto : So, this music's kicking it live! I believe there must be Egg Pawns that works for this other Eggman or working for Master Grim. Allow me to speak the Greek way. Odd, that's a Knight Pawn, Knight Pawns are one of the scientist's genuine variants of his Egg Pawns.

Sonic : Where were they designed at?

Seto : Cryptic Castle, I bet he owns a lot of money for that castle.

Sonic : Yeah, If they were knights of Hang Castle, I believe that's not an Egg Knight, that's a Spear Pawn.

Seto : Oh, right. I'll talk into some greek. *clears throat* Here goes. (speaks to the Spear Pawn in greek)

Spear Pawn : (speaking in greek)

Sonic : Wonder what they're saying, I'm getting a major deja vu over here.

Spear Pawn : (Speaking in greek) Efcharisto.

Seto : Well, he said it means that he needs their help on getting rid of all of the baddies who were working for the other Eggman. Also, they want you to fix the water system when the water supply is being guarded by the robots, could you not pollute it before not to leave scrap in the water.

Seto : (sighs) a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do! I hope this new stuff for the Modern Era will kick things off the bucket list!

Solva : Hey, Seto! Looks like fixing the water supply for him will make us buy us some time, we'll able to find some of the mystery of what's going on here. You got that message that I sent to you?

Seto : Yeah, It's about that Space-time continuum, right?

Solva : Yeah, as if! Did we manage to bring someone in time?

Eve : You called?

Seto : Mrs. Neuschwanstein! When did you get here?

Eve : Grim said that Yamada would ask that two-tailed fox to borrow his plane at his shop to bring us to Greece. But in terms on giving low budget flights, I had to take somewhere to get the beautiful Greek cities.

Seto : What type transport did you get here.

Eve : I took the Anywhere Door.

Seto : (facepalms) Oh! Why does anyone does that everytime? Although we must not stand here and waist our time saving this and let's get our heads to save Mykonos, Back 2 Back!

Eve : Right on, partner! *Sonic SFX : Dash Panel*

Sonic : So...(looks at script) Are you the one they call you Dr. "Eggman Nega"?

Eggman Nega : Yes, I am!

"EGGMAN NEGA : INTERDIMENSIONAL SCIENTIST"

Eggman Nega : It is I, Dr. Eggman Nega!

Sonic : SAY WHAT!?

Eggman Nega : You know, Nega short for Negative!

Sonic : [To the viewers] Did you utterly hear of Sega getting a name for a person like that? That's just pure out of context. [To Eggman Nega] So you're that Eggman Nega creep that Blaze chasing after you, you're the one who took her Sol Emeralds by the way.

Seto : So, it's that Dr. Eggman Nega creep! But exactly, why the name "Nega" for last name?

Solva : That's because it sounded like something said a racial slur against a scientist.

Sonic : I already knew that, Deathless. Sega would never use the word "Nega".

Eve : Yeah, I might not saying it, because saying a word that sounded like a racial slur is a big no no.

Solva : I told ya that company of yours would use a stupid word for such racial intolerance! I wouldn't hurting the race of another people. You gotta understand the meanings of a racial slur.

Sonic : Listen, you should literally get out of context. You have no idea what kind of phrases that you're gonna use with anyway.

Eve : I thought you couldn't come up with a phrase, Looks we could've made Eggman Nega, a Negative scientist with a Negative Zero! Am I correct!?

Eggman Nega : Silence! The time for talk is over! I'll make you all mincemeat out of you! Prepared to be crushed underwater with my Egg Turtle!

*DBZ SFX : SURPRISE*

Seto : It's not even a turtle at all, it looks like the Loch-Ness Monster having machinery with Ogopogo.

Solva : Pretty false advertising for a machine.

Eve : And it's going to suck...real hard.

Eggman Nega : So now...Get Ready to be--

(JINMEN GYO ROARS)

Eggman Nega : What is going on with that ridiculous noise!?

*DBZ SFX : Suprise+Loud Explosions!*

Eggman : I won't forget this! (leaves)

Sonic : Oh no! It's that darn Killer Whale again! I'm never going back on that stupid wooden bridge!

Seto : It's a living drawning of Acro from Kirby's world.

Adeleine : Hey, you're welcome by the way. Also, you might wanna know where that is coming from.

Seto : What makes you say that?

Solva : Where did you even here a noise from underwater?

Adeleine : Why would don't ask him to figure it out. It's probably because you're going to shark bait for a fish with a human face.

~ Mission 04 : The Eggman From Another Dimension ~

harrowhark from the locked tomb series is not black, but is maori, but otherwise fits that descriptions to a T. she's incredibly intelligent, resourceful, and succeeds by the skin of her teeth. she is also incredibly petty - she dug on her hands and knees all night to set a trap, despite having constructs and servants who would eagerly do so for her, so that her arch-nemiesis would see the dirt on her fingernails and despair. she's an honest representation of a character who is so deeply suicidal but cannot die out of obligation and guilt, which then curdles into spite of her surroundings that supernova her enemies. the relationship she has with her (main) abuser is inspired by lolita except its like she read lolita and thinks she is simply better. she is the best and only schizophrenic rep i've seen that lets her be a horrible person without demonising or woobifying her. nearly every woman in the series wants her.

she is the deutragonist of the first book, then the protagonist of the second, so i'll give a synopsis:

harrowhark is the heir to the ninth house, a vassal state within a necromantic space empire. her duty, and the duty of her lineage, is to guard the tomb that traps god's greatest enemy - the key to his death. however, her house has been withering for years - an incident wiped out nearly all children in the land, everyone but the oldest and most devoted then fled to the other houses, and she's been puppeting her parents corpses since she was 10. if their shame was made known to the rest of the empire, they would be subsumed by a larger state and the oath sworn by her foremother would be broken. so no pressure or anything.

in the myriadic year of the god emperor's reign, he invited all the heirs back to the cradle of his divinity - to test them. if they can complete the trials that orginally gave his closest circle immortality, he will answer their greatest wish - provided they serve him and never return home. with no other choice, she drags gideon nav (indentured servant, childhood enemy, only trusted confidant) to the first house to partake. however it quickly becomes clear someone is attempting to sabotage the trials, and harrow must risk it all to collude with the other heirs to get to the bottom of it.

the series explores the evils of imperialism by localising it in interpersonal relationships. the first book is like a murder mystery, while the second book is a pyschological thriller, and the third is a horror tragedy slice of life. i highly reccomed it! (and the audiobooks.)

woah relax i've read tlt yes. i dont need a summary. its just that i saw the painting of her on the cover of the book and thought she was white and didnt catch on in the text that she looked any other way. which like i mean its cool that she's mixed like. same. but if i can go three entire books without catching on ? idk maybe i'm the stupid one here. theres a lot of stuff in tlt i havent caught onto

its also possible that i'm just used to book authors describing characters in a way that makes me think they might NOT be white only to be disappointed so now i just assume unless outright stated that characters are canonically white.

but yes i loved following her around in harrow the ninth and i am constantly desperately missing those characters. i miss harrow. i miss gideon. FUCKKK I MISS GIDEONNNN. HARROWHARKKKKKK RAAAAA

the locked tomb is very good, one of my favorite series and i super appreciate how nonlinear and uncompromising the story is at times but for some reason it just doesn't HIT ME the way it hits others. but thinking about it now its like well, maybe im just depressed. cuz that series was, like, MADE for me in a lot of ways its got a lot of my favorite things. maybe im just sexist
