The heat was increasing with each, passing day. It was getting disruptive. He felt as if his body was burning up from the inside out. His skin felt as fire, his breath scorching.

It was starting to hurt. His skin was so sensitive that the clothes on his back was starting to be a bother.

He knew what he needed. He knew what he should do.

Ah, but it was never an easy task for him.

Slowly, he'd reach up to unhook his bowtie, exhaling a shaky breath.

"Merde.."

"Oh Alastoooor~ I've tried a new recipe...would you be my taste tester? Nya ha ha ha!!"

This woman does not heed the rut warnings. She walks right into the lion's den with a big'ole grin.

Of all the times to be asking him for taste-testing...she chose now? "This isn't the best time, darling..."

[ When Alastor wakes up this morning, it's due to him feeling far too warm to keep the blanket over himself. So, naturally, he tosses it off...but it doesn't help. He feels just as hot—if not hotter—than he did before discarding it.

He also finds that heat building up deep in his gut, making him toss and turn and feel increasingly restless.

Oh no.

His rut has officially started.

He'd prepared this time, though. At least, as far as letting people know goes. A shaky hand grabs at his microphone so he can send a pre-recorded message to those he cares for most. When he's done, the staff is put back down so Alastor can lay back down and clutch at one of his pillows tightly with both arms.

The message goes as follows: ]

"Yellow! This is Alastor a.k.a Calloway speaking! As you are probably aware, I go through a yearly rut around this time, and I'm afraid it's finally in full swing! This message is being sent to you because you are one of the few that I know and trust and care for.

"Consider this a warning of sorts: if you do not wish to deal with my heightened possessiveness, clinginess, moodiness, and, of course, a constant erection and an insatiable appetite for sex, I advise you to stay away until my rut is over and done with.

"If none of these things perturb you, then you are permitted to come visit me...although I can't guarantee that I'll let you leave for a while once you've crossed my threshold. I also advise that you don't try to leave if I'm holding onto you; I may just lose myself and make you stay...one way or another.

"Whatever the case, I appreciate you listening to this message! My frequency will still be open for long distance communication should any of you decide my behavior is too much to handle, so please, feel free to call me anytime!

Over and out!"

Since we have mentioned omegaverse, i once saw this fic where Clark is the only omega on the Justice League and i was like: "What if it was our pathetic wet cat Hal though?"

Like the suit just blocks his ability to smell scents of the others while also blocking his scent, and he also takes those meds to hide his scent anyways. So just imagine this pathetic cat trying to act or look like an alpha and either failing miserably or it being 50/50

Actually no I love this, I need to share my headcanon I forgot about: Bruce immediately clocks Hal Jordan as an omega playing at being an alpha for the League and Oa. The problem is Hal’s act is flawless, the ring hides his scent, no one doubts him.

But Batman does. And why does Batman know what he is instantly? Because he’s an omega playing at alpha too. And game recognizes game. Good game recognizes good game. They’re both pros at fooling the alphas but not each other.

Cue platonic batlantern or harem JL a/b/o where Bruce and Hal always disappear together for heats and instinct hiccups and cover for each other. After some well deserved sniping at their fellow omega of course.

Rut

He couldn't explain what this was. He couldn't explain how to even begin to cope with it. Where to start. All he knew was that his body was reacting in ways it shouldn't. His mind was a jumbled mess. His skin seemed more sensitive than usual. His senses heightened.

And the anger. The frustration. He couldn't determine if he wanted closeness, or if he longed to slice someone's throat.

In somewhat of a panic, he'd keep himself hidden away. He'd go over every solution he could. Though so far, nothing seemed successful.

This burning. This... Lust. He didn't know what to do. Nor how to do it. And he definitely didn't know how to ask for the help he needed.

Spanning from October 1st to October 31st, Alastor will be in rut. Not a fluffy piece, but this Anon (don’t remember who.) Got me hooked on mating/rutting cycles.

Going with a Night Lord. Their nest will be filled with their most softest pelts they have personally gone out and hunted, and skinned. The rest of the animal meat going to the freezer to store up on that fat.

At first, he’ll try and lure you in with clicks, and purrs at first. Slowly getting you closer and closer to where he wants you. If that doesn’t work he’s dragging you over. And plopping you right in the middle of it.

Now, this next part might be your most crucial one. With you feeling out the nest he made out his hunt. His eyes are on you all the time. Watching, waiting for your reaction.

Does she like the nest? Is it too fluffy? Maybe I needed to put some extra hide in there? Does she like the nest?

When you sink down into it? It’s game over for you. He’s on you, pampering you. Preparing you for him, and the rest of the days, possibly weeks he plans on keeping you there for.

You better call in for your work…If you can.

Night Lord nests can be similar to Raven Guard nests or Space Wolf dens. They make sure their "prey" fridge is full of game to feed you... any offal cuts or even "bad" meat they keep for themselves only feeding you the finest prey. Sometimes even going out of their way to try and get a specific type of prey or even trading for a perfectly soft type of pelt. Wandering warbands of Night Lords being great at culling numbers of prey species or dealing with nuisance animals... and a sustainable fur trade.

Pillows are torn apart and sewn back together ensuring that they are soft enough... squishy enough... and with a few firm enough to put under their bonded to assist in positioning you when you are certainly fucked out of your mind. Each stitch hand sewn by himself... each pelt tried to earn through a kill of his own... fast kills as the meat tastes better for you when the animal doesn't realize it's even died.

When he is ready he will lure you close unarmored just crooning in Nostroman to you... that flowery romantic language... he's tried to teach you some. How his black eyes watch you as you crawl into the nest... certainly making it harder for you to exit the nest verses getting into it... when you lean back into the soft furs and let out that exhale... he's gotten you.

Between the bouts of sex and taking care of yourself you were fed cooked meats and other such delicious foods but it was all a haze of pleasure until he got most of his cycle out of the way. Then you're allowed to go to work but once you get home he takes you to the nest and feeds you and breeds you.

He's such a good boy.

Also, in response to the "testosterone making people angrier" myth, I've found that, personally, testosterone has given me the self-respect to recognize and call out when my boundaries are being overstepped in ways that I wouldn't have had the courage (or, frankly even liking of myself) to have done before. This is in addition to me working on my trauma responses, but testosterone was the spark that gave me the will to do this in the first place. When I see people sae that as anger and thus is a "bad thing," I wonder how much of that is just people being uncomfortable with us... having boundaries or enforcing them, and that the response to that overstepping is labeled as aggressive anger.

Frankly, I now actually respect myself enough to care when I am being mistreated. It seems that people sometimes take that as a personal failure on my end because I don't think I deserve mistreatment.

Caveat: Anger is a fine emotion, and it is a worthy thing to recognize and honour. I find that the accusation of trans men* and trans masc* people "being angry" on testosterone is a moot point simply because it is often a false accusation which uses anger as a punishment. My issue isn't that we're "angry," but that our perceived anger is used, often, as a transphobic bludgeon to punish those who either want to transition with testosterone or who currently are, and everything in-between.

See I’m sure you thought I was going to say something sexy here (definitely thinking it, don’t worry anon) but part of me thinks Thomas would just sit on Alfred the whole time.
