one version of a self-insert me character in star rail would be some sort of crazy mad scientist. but subject about it. basically like ruan mei, but worse. because i'd try to experiment on a human (blade specifically) in my pursuit to understand the universe and things that live in it. (assuming she wouldn't actually cut apart a living person lmao. maybe she would go that far idk)

i'd be distraught about wanting to know the secrets of the universe and not being able to ever grasp them in my lifetime. elio would find me and tell me he can grant me that knowledge and more because he's close to gaining it himself or something like that. so I follow him. i'm introduced to the stellaron hunters and blade immediately catches my attention.

after I learn about him, I immediately pull out a scalpel with an evil grin on my face. "How would you feel about being dissected like a bug......for science."

I figure he's used to pain and seems numb and wouldn't mind. and he'll heal anyway. then I can dissect and study him many times. but he just stares at me for a long, quiet moment and walks away. I never get an answer. I make some threats, but I won't stabby without consent.

maybe kafka stops me the next time I pull out a scalpel and says we have work to do, we can't wait for him to heal. she keeps stopping me. maybe silver wolf has to talk sense into me that i can't just do that. he walks like the dead, but he's still alive. you can't direct a living person even if they are *like him.* maybe I start to change for the better or something and find ways to study him without *stabby slicy mad scientist noises* fhfhjdjdssj

I just really want to know more about blade right now....and how exactly his fucked up body works....and since they aren't revealing enough to us, my brain did a dive into the story to study him like a bug. no blades were hurt in this thought experiment....yet.

Seeing a lot of people complain that bayonetta 3 showed them that these games arent made as womens power fantasies/etc at all and are instead made for men's fantasies, but i wanna present the option that this was already apparent in 2

Like, in the impression of me as someone who really liked Luka in the first game, he's super cute looking and sort of well intentioned with a mildly angsty storyline going on and most importantly while he is a "simp", hes always inferior and never poses a threat; perfect safe handsome guy to ogle at in your woman power fantasy game (saw someone compare him to a bond girl even). If we play this game assuming it's "for women", he'd appear to be the hot character pandering to straight girls (while jeanne is for the wlw)

However in the second game, suddenly in his appearances he has no character intrigue and instead becomes extremely slapstick heavy to the point that he was cringe enough i could not find him appealing anymore, which killed my interest enough that after a break of playing pokemon i never picked it up again

To me this shift recontextualizes his entire character: instead of being a cute guy for girls to enjoy, his character was actually meant to be some sort of weird comedic self insert for straight male players (and what i heard about 3's ending seems to confirm this)

So my thesis statement is that if bayonetta was truly made for the girlies we would have known it because they wouldnt have made luka cringe; making him a proper fantasy for girls is the one thing that truly doesnt do anything for the straight male gaze

since she is a creation of avis' and has no memories of a human life, all she has ever known is her friends. she lacks a sense of identity. she wants to be an individual and while she feels so dependent on the other characters since they're all she's ever known, she still yearns to have a sense of herself and possibly leave them to form her own identity. struggle of nature vs nuture- naturally knows and understands the world as she was created by avis and these things were intrinsic to her so she functions as any other person would and could pass as normal, but suffers from such restricted nurture it leaves her feeling incomplete.

tma:

sam: an avatar of the dark, he used to work at the magnus institute and is the only one of gertrudes assistants to survive. he wears sunglasses because hes essentially blind in the light, due to his eyes being reversed (not literally, i just dunno what word to use).

scp:

oh. ohohohphohphohohohoh!!! i have a lot of scp ocs (perks of being a fan for over a year now apparently)

technician moon: my oc for my siblings and mine fan site, site 47! its literally soulless, due to its mother being an anomaly which weirded out the hume levels around her, causing moon to be born with no soul and no emotions. they use they/it, and have a partner called micheal (pronounced my-KEE-al). nicknamed by my other ocs as techy. has white hair.

masky: this ones a bit cringe but. so is everything. masky is a branch that technician moons universe can go down, where moon has a theory that what 035 gets rid of is their hosts soul, so it gives themself up to be a host for 035. luckily for moon, theyre right, which leads to a "two minds one body" sorta situation, where both moon and 035 (later nicknamed skip by moons friends, and "that bastard who lives on my face and doesnt even pay rent" by moon) have to live inside the same body. luckily, their personalities are different enough to know whos talking. their eyes will say whos in control, if their eyes are brown, its moon, if theyre purple, its skip, and if their right eye is purple and their left is brown, its both.

dass: my take on the main character of scp:cb, if he wasnt stuck in a timeloop hed be classified as an scp, due to the fact that he can save anywhere, and reload to that point in space and time if he dies, or, in the case of this specific time loop, if he finished the game. he also has two ghosts following him, michael and ana, both of whom used to be d-class, but died due to various experiments (ana died from scp 009, and is the body you see under the ice in game, michael died from a currently undecided scp). oh yeah, and he can see all the d-class that any specific person has gotten killed surrounding that person.

pyleos: honestly my oc thats the most alike me, because in a sense they are me. see, they live in a universe where most scps dont exist, however, there are still two. and one of those scps is some kind of beast, who chases pyleos and his family out of their home. whilst running away from this beast, pyleos and his younger brother get seperated from the rest of their family, and end up in a government adjacent base. the government adjacent people threaten to hurt pyleos' little brother if he doesnt go throught this door (the other anomaly in that universe) that leads to the scp universe, so he goes through. he then spends a year there, and goes through wacky hijinks and shit.

currently unnamed: pretty much my only oc that interacts with canon characters. basically, an agent. has three partners, ana, thomas, and james, nicknamed timmy! works under clef. a system, the alters who tend to front are sam (host), agent (protector) and raphael. agent is also a sub-system (i think thats the term? basically, agent also is another system within the main?).

leyan: an ex-planet from another solar system, called the twos system, because there were two stars, two planets, and two moons. leyan was a rocky planet, who orbited around a brown dwarf called erus. the other star was called cerb, and the other planet was a gas giant callled gali, and he orbited cerb. the two moons orbited leyan, the biggest one was called phonee, the smaller one was perseh. if you want to know what happened to them, ill happily talk about them on my other blog, @might-be-capricorn!

fun fact, i've been sitting on the idea of making a rough animation/animatic based off this slice of this song for like,, forever, at this point! and yes it would've been essentially just this but with Flourish(tm)

the Bitter Bones Saga Lore behind this explained:

originally, this was gonna be based off the (extremely cringy) on-going Bitter Bones Saga (where my self insert/sona is a coworker of Sun and Moon, whom Sun and Moon can't stand, and the entire plot is how this mentally ill bitch is like, anti-coping over it)

The two silhouettes in the first part that are mocking Bones ("Well, well, look who's again, went out to look for some reason to hide again") are mental representations of Sun and Moon (but simplified to rlly basic silhouettes here bc i was afraid of being too cringe on main). The reasoning is bc i was picturing that it starts with Bones having a rough day working with Sun and Moon. they wave at the kids as theyre leaving but can tell neither Sun nor Moon wants them there so they go into a closet/storage room to get away for a moment, trying to take a deep breath and mentally orient themselves.

That's when their Inner Bones (the pink rabbit silhouette with pointy teeth) starts mocking them, purposefully antagonizing them and ripping them a new one. the Sun and Moon silhouettes are more of what they imagine Sun and Moon are thinking of them, secretly making fun of them behind their back, more than they are like Sun and Moon are actually there and saying those things.

the "Well, well, buddy, you found it" is Inner Bones holding up a mirror, basically saying 'YOU are the reason you shouldve stayed home. you're stupid, you're dumb, you're cringe, you only ever make a fool of yourself and inconvenience the people around you. stupid lil idiot. fuck u'. and Bones reacts by attacking 'Inner Bones' (except, in reality, it's just a mirror, symbolism for how they're attacking themselves, ik ik very deep) bc damn bitch i know ok shut the fuck up!!!

the last part, which has no lyrics bc im lazy, was originally going to be Sun or Moon opening the door to the storage/clsoet or whatever and being like ?????? tf is going on in here, as Bones stands over a busted mirror, probably crying like an idiot. Them turning into a small demon-rabbit creature is more like symbolism for how it feels to be caught in the middle of having a mental break down, like you're caught in your most animalistic state, a deer caught in headlights, and you know the other person is looking at you like you're a freak of nature.

the ending would've been Sun/Moon being like 'what r u up to in here???' where there's this long pause before Bones turns around with an almost-normal-person-like facade up, smiling as though they arent bothered and weren't just attacking a mirror. "i was looking for something but accidentally knocked something over, i'll go get the broom and clean up!!" and they walk out with a fake, cold, empty expression on their face, leaving Sun/Moon standing alone, looking down at the broken glass and smears of blood silently. but im lazy so i didnt draw that part lol
