‘’Are you fucking kidding me?’’ an annoyed Tatum complained when she saw you and Billy walking in the theater. Her eyes narrowed as she turned to her boyfriend with an unamused glare. ‘’Please tell me you two didn’t plan a double date without telling me.’’
Stu raised his hands defensively, his eyes wide with innocence. ‘’I didn’t!’’
‘’Hey guys,’’ you interrupted, the scent of buttered popcorn filling the air as you walked up to them in the snack queue.
Tatum's gaze shifted to you before she finally sighed, faking a smile. ‘’Well, this is a surprise.’’
You and Tatum were friends, but not in the same way she and Sidney were friends. It was more ‘friends because your boyfriends were best friends’. You weren’t on her list of people she would call to go to the mall with.
Billy came right behind you, seeming just as surprised to see the other couple there.
‘’Which movie are you seeing?’’ you asked, trying to feed a conversation.
‘’The new Halloween,’’ Stu replied, looping an arm behind his girlfriend’s neck in hope she would forgive him for something he had nothing to do with.
A smile curled on your lips. ‘’Us too!’’
You weren’t too confident about the movie. You heard there was no Jamie Lee in this one, so it was off to a bad start. But Halloween was Halloween, though. You had seen them all.
‘’We’ll just…sit a few rows back,’’ Billy said, trying to appease Tatum’s annoyed eyes.
After grabbing popcorn and drinks, you all split up upon entering the theater. Surprisingly, the theater wasn't too packed for a Friday night. The weather was gloomy, which should have drawn everyone here, but there was a football match at school, so that's probably where they were at. Go Panthers!
Billy picked seats at the back, and Stu and Tatum went to the lower middle so they would have a good view of the screen.
‘’You good here?’’
You nodded, taking the popcorn as he reached down to fold the armrest up and out of his way.
The lights turned down, and the movie began.
Forty minutes through the movie, you came to a conclusion that you couldn't get into this installment of the franchise. The plot was a complete mess and you were getting frustrated by watching another thing that made absolutely no sense unfold on the big screen.
‘’This is shit,’’ you whispered to Billy, reaching for the popcorn, only to discover it was empty. Of course he ate it all. ‘’Got any Mike and Ikes left?’’
He handed you the box, and you leaned into your seat, quietly eating from boredom. How much time was there left?
The movie continued playing, and suddenly you felt the arm around your shoulder lower down and pull one of your tits out of your shirt. The cool air of the theater made your nipple harden into a peak. Billy pinched it delicately, casually rolling the bud between thumb and forefinger like you weren't in the middle of a movie theater.
‘’What are you doing?’’ you hissed at him into the dark, swatting his hand away. ‘’Are you trying to get us kicked out?’’
Billy shushed you, then continued playing with your breast with a mischievous glint in his eyes. ‘’We’re only getting kicked out if we get caught.’’
He wasn't wrong. You looked around the room and, thankfully, no one was paying any attention. Sighing, you dumped a few candies in your palm and let Billy have his way.
A few minutes passed and you found yourself shifting in your seat, starting to feel your panties dampen from getting your tits played with. Pushing the shenanigans to the next level, you took Billy's other hand and brought it down to your lap.
Billy was a clever boy. Dirty-minded too. He knew what you wanted from him.
His fingers slid beneath the hem of your skirt, snaking up your inner thighs until he reached your panties. You parted your thighs wider, giving him more room between your legs, and he skillfully pulled your panties to the side. He teased your folds, fingers sliding between your lips and coating themselves with your arousal as you let out a shaky breath.
‘’Didn't know you were such a naughty girl,’’ Billy noted, looking straight ahead at the screen as he crooked his fingers the way you liked.
You grabbed the arm rest to keep you from squirming. ‘’Fuck,’’ you slipped quietly, Billy’s palm flat against your clit.
What did you get yourself into?

B-Movie

Tumblr media
You didn’t even want to leave the house tonight, let alone drag yourself all the way to the cineplex to watch a crummy B-Movie. You just didn’t want to be home all alone on a Saturday night, but being all alone at the movies didn’t seem any better.
It’s some old, cheesy horror movie that sucked more and more every second you had to watch it. The fact that you didn’t have anything better to do was the only reason you stayed this long.
The young couple on the screen cuddled up in a car as a cheap howl rang across the screen. The girl gets all flustered and goes, "Did you hear that, Brad?"
"Hear what, Janet? I’m sure it’s just a dog." The cliche football player boyfriend tried to reassure her.
"I don’t know Brad; it sounded big." She said with a scared huff.
The acting was bad to say the least, and you wanted to reach through the screen and slug one of them in the face each time they opened their mouth. You really didn’t know how much more you could take.
The couple got back to canoodling before a ‘werewolf’ that looked more like a roll of shag carpet popped up between them and they started screaming. Dark gray splatters of blood flung around the black and white screen as the creature clawed up the once-horny 18-year-olds.
You couldn’t help but roll your eyes. You understand the kitschy nature of these old movies, but this was just hard to watch.
There weren't a lot of people in the theater with you, and you were certain that there wasn’t anyone behind you when you sat down. Yet, as a warm brush of air grazed the back of your neck, you heard someone whisper in your ear. "What are you doing here all by yourself?"
You nearly choked on your popcorn, hacking and coughing just to catch a breath of air. It prompted someone from the audience to turn back towards you and shout, "Shut up."
You ignore the jackasses in the front row and whip your head around to try and find who had invaded your personal space. But, no one was behind you; in fact, the whole back half of the theater was empty.
It had to have been nothing, a prankster, or a figment of your imagination. You turned back towards the screen with a huff to watch the 'werewolf’ attack some pedestrians.
You shook your soda, feeling it was still pretty full, before taking a sip and watching the crummy rug monster lumber across the screen as people ran away from it.
You felt that breath on your skin again before you heard that deep, disembodied rumble of a man’s voice. "So unrealistic. You’d never be able to outrun me."
This time, you swung your elbow as you turned towards the voice, only to find no one yet again. You studied the darkened corners of the empty back rows for a solid second, and you swore you could almost see something. A solid mass in one of the seats at the far back with a faintly sharpened gaze pointed directly towards you.
It makes the hair on your arms stand on end as goosebumps pricked at your skin and your body turns stiff. All the while, you stared down what you hoped to be an imaginary figure before turning back to the screen to see the crappy werewolf being shot at by an angry mob.
You couldn’t pay attention to it anymore, nor to the thought of something lurking behind you in an almost empty theater. When you noticed a group of people near the front step away from their seats and grumbling about the movie, you took this as an opportunity to slip out of the theater hidden within a small group.
You grab your stuff and just leave, glancing back for almost a second. There wasn’t anything back there this time, but you weren’t taking any more chances.
You toss your popcorn in a nearby bin as you exit the theater, hiding behind the group of strangers as they all walk off towards their own cars.
You have to scuttle away in the opposite direction, where the parking had been free. It wasn’t too bad of a walk while the sun was still up, but now with the moon high in the sky and a chill already running down your spine, it was an unnerving trek just so you could go home.
You shook the soda cup you still held onto, listening to the ice sloshing inside to gauge how much coke you had left to drink. It was a good amount, and you sipped at it from the straw as you hoofed it all the way back to your car.
You sucked down your coke until you heard the telltale sputtering noise that signified that the cup was finally empty. You gave it another light shake, only to hear the ice knocking around inside before taking a final water sip.
You stopped walking, but only for a second, so you could find a public trash can to dump your cup. But, as your sneakers stopped hitting the pavement, you heard the continuation and abrupt stop of someone else’s footsteps. You stand still for a second before slowly twisting your back to peek over your shoulder to see what might have been behind you.
Nothing.
The only thing to grace your vision was the dark and empty street of your small town; an image you’d seen many times before seemed so ominous as of now. You pull your eyes away from the street behind you before spotting a trash can by the door of the next storefront.
You take a few careful steps closer to the can until it’s within range to toss your cup. The cup hits the edge of the opening before ricocheting right into the trash. A lucky shot, and after the cup's clunky descent, the streets are eerily quiet again.
You had to stop yourself from letting your heart beat out of control as you searched the shadows for any other mysterious figures like those you’d seen at the back of the theater. Alone on a Saturday night, you're so scared that you could have pissed yourself, and it turned out to be nothing. You recall the shitty movie and laugh at yourself for letting something so poorly made affect your nerves like this.
You pick your feet up and start walking again, eager only to get home. That's when you hear the footsteps far behind you more clearly, like a soft weight hitting the concrete some distance away. You have to ignore it, for your own sanity at least, but you pick up your pace without another thought. You don’t want to turn back only to see nothing or have your eyes trick you like they did before.
The heavy thumps of something far behind grew closer and faster to the point that it could no longer be ignored, no matter how badly you wanted to pretend it was just the simple sounds of a small town after dark.
But, it wasn’t. Hard pads were hitting the sidewalk, drawing far too close for your nerves to withstand.
You let yourself steal a glance over your shoulder as you walked a little faster. The black mass of dark hair and teeth a few yards away nearly made your heart stop. You don’t take note of too many more details, opting instead to break out into an immediate sprint. Your body is given no time to adjust, making it hell on your knees as your little legs propel you towards the old parking lot where you left your car.
The mass sped up, but only to match your pace, letting your little rabbit heart tire out until you became easy prey.
You try to make some unprompted turns and twists in a fruitless attempt to lose sight of that creature, but even as you lose sight of it, you can still hear its heavy steps not far behind. Your hopes were dashed even further once the tip of your shoe caught the lip of a pothole, tripping you, so you went skidding onto the pavement, tearing the fabric of your jeans just a little on your knees.
You only lay there and hissed at the sharp new pain, and your blood pressure pounded in your ears almost as loudly as the padding of the monster's feet as it drew nearer and nearer. It finally rounded the corner of the alley more slowly, almost as if to play with your fear all the more before finally leaping upon you. In this short moment before the tears could cloud your vision, its full form came into greater detail. Claws clacking on the cracked, stony pavement of the alleyway.
Thick fur coated its whole body, darkening it aside from a dangling pair of metal dog tags and torn denim jeans barely holding together around its solid legs. It leapt over you to land at your feet before planting his solid clawed hands on either side of your head.
Its muzzle is short, its skin is oddly gray, and although the hair is thick, the hard muscles of his arms and torso are felt immediately as it pins you down with its weight alone. Long, sharp nails tear into your shirt and jeans, but be more careful of your skin and only scratch the surface instead of digging into your flesh.
You scream into the night, your voice bouncing off broken brick and rusted metal with no one to hear it. All as you're rendered completely vulnerable to a creature that surpasses imaginable horror after your clothes are torn into strips of fabric.
An inhuman voice seemed to rumble from somewhere deep in his chest, almost like the animal was calling to you while it hovered above. Then its neck and joints started to crack and twitch, with ribs breaking in on themselves and muscles contracting as the mounds of hair shrank back along its skin. The sounds of pain that rang from its open maw nearly drowned out once-echoed screams as the beast mutated while it still caged you under its disgustingly shifting body.
It does give you mere seconds to try and wiggle away. You try to kick at the pavement with your feet with very little success, as his muzzle seems to shrink back into itself. Its face is leaning in as the pointed ears pull back into its head and a more human face comes into view.
It’s clearer to see that his hair is shaggy and hangs by his neck, and with minimal facial hair compared to the beast you had once been looking at. His chest was now bare, save for a little peppering of normal chest hair running from the top of his chest to a thin line at his navel.
Nothing covered him besides a worn-out and torn-up old pair of jeans that had already started to fall from his waist to showcase the deep V of muscle near his groin.
Once the rest of his beastly form melted from his body, he stared directly at you, and you froze.
The fight is drained from your body as the blue of his eyes swims around yours. It leaves your head dizzy and your body stiff and unmoving, as his still-rough treatment carried an odd gentleness to it. Like he knew he would cut right into your skin but didn’t want to.
"You know I saw you, all alone in there." This time the words were coming right from his lips, not deeply distorted from some faraway place, and they bore an eerie resemblance to the hushed voice that spoke to you in the theater.
The monster that lumbered around in that movie was no more than a sheepdog compared to what this man had been. You regretted coming out to see that movie, more so now than ever.
"You seemed so delicate, so..so shy." Something hard pressed against your tightly shut legs, almost thick enough to pry them apart. The realization of what had been pressing against you and had slipped out of his jeans to part his legs for him.
He was sizing his cock against your bare core as his hard arms crowded your head and his teeth dragged along your shoulder.
"We don’t have to be alone anymore." He gritted his teeth as he forced his cock through your tight channel. A very unexpected turn of events sent a strange shock along your spine. You try to move against him, barely succeeding in moving your arms or thrashing your head. Each time you tried, that cold stare would pierce through you like sharp ice, making the blood in your veins freeze up as you were torn around his thick, invasive member.
You nearly bite your tongue as tears come right through until the tip of his cock is forced against the deepest part of you, and you can only turn your head to cry into the pavement.
"I wanna make a monster out of you. Then we can be like that together."
His dirty nails dig into the skin of your neck as he twists your face away from the asphalt as he presses his tight abs against your belly, bumping his cock against that deep, deep part of your cunt again.
The pain was twisting into something horrible inside of you. Like a hot bolt of energy burning in your lower belly, making the rest of your body feel so terribly cold that your fingers were almost numb.
He has you keening, howling, wailing, and screaming louder than you ever had before. You’re torn to pieces as he ties you back together on his cock in a big, tight knot.
He laps at your trembling and whimpering lips before applying pressure to your jaw to pop your mouth open and sliding his thick tongue along yours.
"You’ll be my fucking monster," is growled into your ear as the blood starts to rush to your head while he pumps himself inside of you.
His teeth, several of which were still sharp, pressed harder into the flesh of your neck and shoulder, making you keen and wail against his skin as it suffocated you.
You didn’t feel him tearing into your body; you didn’t feel the hot blood streaming from your throat. All you felt was the snapping of a tight knot that had formed in your core. It tore to shreds, exploding into your veins as he forced a thicker, harder, swollen part of himself into you. It locked you to him as you gushed around his solid member, and he seemed to fill you so full that your stomach swelled a small fraction.
The world around him blurs as his warm hand comes up to cup your face, all before the blackness at the edge of your vision caves in around you, taking with it your consciousness.
Your dreams were empty; hours would go by and your mind would be blank, and you would be almost dead to the world.
The sunlight cutting through the dirty glass of your windshield was what woke you. It took a moment to take hold and shake you from your sleep as it assaulted your eyes. You tried to turn your head only to be shocked by a painful, deep burning in the side of your neck, accompanied by a heavy ache in all of your limbs. You tried to roll yourself out of this uncomfortable sleeping situation with a labored groan as you finally graced the afternoon sun.
You don’t remember having found your car or getting into it to sleep in the backseat. You don’t pay any mind to it, and you don’t pay any kind of attention to a lot of things. Namely, the terrible state of your clothing that was torn so badly that you were practically half naked, nor the massive scabbing gas on the side of your neck and shoulder that bore a horrible resemblance to teeth marks.
You pressed your elbow onto the side of the driver's seat with your other hand digging its nails into the side of the front passenger's seat, all just to drag your heavy, aching body from the back of the car. Somehow your keys were just sitting in your lap, totally unnoticed, and had clunked to the floor as you pulled yourself up.
Your head nearly hit the center console as you let go of the passenger seat to reach those damn keys.
Once they were finally in your grasp, you pulled yourself back up to crawl over the console and into the driver's seat.
You had to catch your breath as the pain in your body vibrated along all of your bones to ache at your joints. You slowly brought the key up to the lock, fumbling a little before getting it in the ignition. You turn the key and let the engine roar to life, finally giving you a new lifeline to get home.
You drove off dazed, weak, and uncomfortable. You were just barely able to drive at all, but you weren’t staying in that parking lot any longer than you had to. Home was the only place you cared to be, injury or no injury. Yet, in the very pit of your stomach, something stirred. It grew more and more during the entire ride home. You nearly ran the car into the garage door, as it was all you could focus on.
You are so fucking hungry!
You feel it from your stomach all the way up your throat. You ran from the car as soon as the engine was off, not paying any mind to how your neighbors would react to your current physical appearance. The car door is left open, and the front door is still ajar after you broke through it when the key didn’t quite go into the lock. But, somehow you got the little piece of metal to align to gain entry to your own home before bolting inside and running directly towards the fridge.
The fridge door is yanked open, and you're digging through everything you can find to bring it to your nose for a quick scent before tossing it.
You’d tossed away tubs of yogurt, lunch meat, and juices behind you, as none suited your new bizarre taste. Nothing seemed to meet your craving until you grabbed a pack of steaks from the middle rung of the fridge. You’d left it in the fridge to thaw for dinner the following day, but as you brought it towards you and took in its red, bloody smell, it was all your senses could respond to.
You tore open the packet and tore right into the meat with your teeth, reveling in the taste of the raw steak and the feel of it on your tongue.
You don’t think anything of this; your mind is just switched off to everything at this point. You don’t even hear the subtle knock of your car door being closed or the louder click of your front door following suit.
The once menacing footsteps that echoed down the street to your demise now went unheard as they padded through your home to find you tearing through your food on the kitchen floor.

This took heavy inspiration from the werewolf transformation scene in Underworld as well as one of the first episodes of Santa Clarita diet.

Chapter 7
The movie screen has gone dark, the cars that came to watch the movie have almost dispersed, leaving only a few cars. You sit in the car quietly waiting for Jason. His face changes completely when his phone rings, it seems urgent, perhaps he is needed for his work temporarily.
Just now you lost your temper and let Jason see your unbearable side. You should not have caused Jason trouble, but now you messed it up. It should be a very pleasant night, but you interrupted it.
The driver's seat is empty, the potato chips in your hands have been eaten, the phone battery still a little bit left, you see a car shaking, someone must be busy. You have nothing to do and look around to distract yourself.
"Knock Knock" two knocks and the sound of pulling the car door handle attract your attention.
"Jason?" You turned your head look at the driver's window.
"Open the door." A man wearing a clown mask pointed a gun at the driver's window.
"Fucking hell." Didn't expect you to be in danger.
When he saw you didn't open the door, he pulled the door handle rudely. He was impatient and fired two shots at the mirror, smashed the mirror with his arm and opened the door. You took the opportunity to pull the door handle of the passenger seat tried to escape. He covered your mouth with one hand and pulled you back into the car, pointing the gun at your head.
"You'd better not mess around." He threatened you.
He released his hand covering your mouth and moved the gun to your face. You stayed calm didn't act rashly. The knife wound on his body meant that he had just been fighting with someone and now wanted to hijack the car and escape.
If Jason came back now, he would be in danger. What should you do? Suddenly, your phone rang. He instructed you to answer the call. You had no choice but to press the answer button.
"Hi."
"Hey, are you still in the car?"
"I'm having dinner with my friends."
"Friends?"
"Yeah, I'm having dinner with them today, what are you doing?"
You asked a question, but Jason didn't answer and hung up after a while. You talked nonsense, don't know if Jason understood what you meant, or was confused by your inexplicable words.
Jason POV
Red Robin found me and told the whole story. A group of robbers just robbed the bank. Some of them had been arrested, the last one was still being hunted.
According to Red Robin's speculation, the robbers must be escaping, they might be looking for transportation to escape. From Robin's perspective, he fled to the vicinity of the drive-in theater.
I had a bad feeling, immediately turned on my phone and saw her figure in the camera inside the car. A masked man in the driver's seat was pointing a gun at her.
"Shit..." I showed my phone to Red Robin.
"Nightwing, this is Red Robin. The last one has been found. He is in Red Hood's car in the drive-in theater." Red Robin immediately notified others.
"Wow, bad luck." Robin added.
"Babybird, I'll go over now." Nightwing said urgently.
"I don't think it's necessary. He's already going to beat that guy up." Red Robin said.
Red Robin is really smart. He has already prepared equipment for me. I put on Red Hood's helmet, put on a brown jacket, and took my weapon to go rescue her. Now I can't be Jason Todd. I should be Red Hood at this time.
"Hey, don't kill anyone." Red Robin reminded.
I loaded the bullets "It depends that guy's attitude."
After saying that, I ran back to the drive-in theater. It was my car. The movie was over and everyone else had left. My car was at the back. There was no one around, so he aimed at my car.
I looked at my phone. The guy pointed a gun at her face. If he drove the car to the road and blocked by police to escape, she would be treated as a hostage by him. She could die at any time. Either she died or both died.
I tried to call her to distract her attention. The robber asked her to pick up my phone call. She talked a lot of topics didn't match my opinion. From it, I could hear she was fooling the robber so that he didn't know I was nearby.
I shot the wheel with a gun from a distance to prevent him from leaving. The robber started to panic, she was looking around to see what was going on. I swaggered to the front of the car and put one foot on my car.
"I found you! You bastard!" I pointed the gun at him, and noticed her surprised expression. Suddenly Red Hood appeared without anyone noticing.
"Drop the gun! Or I'll kill her!" He pressed the gun to her head.
"Red Hood!" She called me. She knew Red Hood. I had never heard her say anything about Gotham City. I thought she didn't care about these things, but now was not the time to admire her.
"Listen to me, you bastard! Get the gun away from her! Otherwise, I'll shoot you! You'll be dead!" I warned him with a vicious tone.
"You put the gun down! Now you have no right to negotiate with me!" He was yelling like crazy.
I kicked the front of my car then put my foot on it. "You really need to be taught a lesson."
"Let's make a deal. Let me leave here and I'll let her go."
If you negotiate a deal with this kind of person, you will always lose money. If you agree to his deal, she will be killed in a minute, the expression of that bastard doesn't look like he's joking.
I'm more curious about the bag on her leg. Is the content in it money or a bomb? Tim said it was a group of bombers. I don't know if he has any bombs. I don't know if he has them hidden on his body or in a bag.
I noticed her face, she was telling me something, her eyes looked in the direction of the bag, she didn't say anything but her mouth moved as if she was saying "bomb", damn bad luck.
What should I do now, think, Red Hood.
I opened my palm and stretched out my hand to wave at her, "Sweetheart, I will rescue you from this bastard, wait for me obediently, okay?"
She just looked confused but still nodded, very good, what a good girl, I really want to hug her and cherish her, I really want to shoot this bastard in the head, but I don't want her to be stained with the blood of the garbage, her life will be stained with any stains and shadows.
I put the gun in my pants, moved my feet away from the car, tightened my gloves, walked to the driver's seat and leaned against the car window, I didn't want to use force because I knew the location of the bomb was in the bag on her leg.
"I'm going to make a deal with you. I won't hand you over to the police, but you must let her go unharmed."
"Hahaha! It's not your turn to negotiate with me here!"
"You have no right to use her to negotiate. You should know that the girl next to you is a good girl. She is my sweetheart."
"Who do I care about her?"
"You have to care, because if it weren't for her, I would have burned the whole car including your bomb."
"Psycho..."
"I am a psycho, but I have always been rational to protect her."
I told him a lot of nonsense, of course, everything I said was true, absolutely sincere, he finally turned the gun at my helmet, his hands were still shaking like a chihuahua.
I pulled him over from the car window and punched him, opened the door pulled him out of the car, reached out to grab the gun from his hand and threw it to the ground, then pulled and punched him in the face twice and threw him aside.
I ran to the passenger seat and opened the door "Sweetheart, I kept you waiting."
She smiled and shook her head "Not long, thank you for saving me."
I stretched out my hand "Give me your hand."
She stretched out her hand and placed it on my palm, I held her tightly to ensure her safety, she moved the bag containing the bomb from her thigh and brought it to me, confirmed that there was money and the bomb together, and sure enough, that bastard even planned to blow up the money.
I was so damn unlucky today. Something terrible happened. The bomb exploded in just 10 seconds. I took the bag and threw it into the air. I turned around, pushed her to the ground and protected her with my body.
When the time came, the bomb exploded and the money in the bag was blown to pieces. Fortunately, I arrived in time, otherwise she would be blown into fireworks, or she would die with the robbers.
I saw her eyes closed below, which was a reasonable body reaction. It was also right to be afraid. I just didn't expect the first time I pounced on her was to be a hero to save her as Red Hood.
She opened her eyes and looked at me. Her body fluctuated because of her breathing. The first thing she did was not to scream loudly or cry. Her hand touched my helmet, just a simple touch.
"Are you okay?" The words were extremely warm.
I lay on her and didn't leave her body. "Okay, thank you for your concern, sweetheart."
I moved away from her, helped her up and protected her. I looked at the banknotes that had been blown into ashes and realized how she would die. The last ten seconds just now were her last moment. Fortunately, I held that lifeline.
"Damn..." The guy picked up the gun from the ground.
I immediately held her in my arms, pulled out the gun, covered her eyes with my hands to prevent her from seeing the dark side, and shot him twice in the hand to make him unable to move. A scream of pain rang out.
I couldn't see her eyes, and couldn't tell her expression. She bit her lip and then let go. Maybe she was enduring the fear from the two gunshots. At least now she was unharmed, only that garbage thing was injured.
I let go of her, she wanted to turn around. I stopped her, "There's nothing to see over there."
"I know, but..."
"But?"
"My friend..."
She was talking about me. Overnight, I turned into Red Hood to protect her. Only violence can punish these bastards. I didn't want her to see Jason in front of her, with his hands covered in blood and killing people mercilessly.
"Don't worry, your friend has been escorted back safely by me."
She blinked, "Is he okay? Is he injured anywhere?"
I hugged her, "Sweetheart, he's fine, I promise."
She breathed a sigh of relief, "That's great, thank you so much."
"I should thank you. If you hadn't told me that he had a bomb, we both would be dead. You must be scared."
She just looked at me and then smiled, "You promised to save me. I believe you, so I'm not afraid."
She not only a good girl, but also a brave, optimistic and positive girl. I like her because of her personality. Her personality always attracts me to carve her into my heart step by step.
I can't say I like her. I can only like her secretly. But I don't want to give her happiness to anyone, I can't guarantee her future lover can give her a safe and stable life.
What I worry about is although I am Red Hood, I can't guarantee I can protect her first. She can die from my hands at any time. This is the thing I dare not face the most.
A pair of hands held my helmet. "Are you worried?"
She asked me, and I shook my head. "Nothing, I just can't take my eyes off you because you're so beautiful."
"Hehe, what nonsense are you talking about?" She laughed happily.
Ah, this is the expression I like to see the most, smiling, simple and innocent, my most precious gift, even between life and death, she can still keep smiling and face reality.
"Babybird, need help?" Nightwing's voice came from the communicator.
"It's done. You can come and deal with the aftermath. I'm going to send her back." I replied.
I cut off the communicator and walked to the car then impatiently watching the window that had been broken into broken glass. I really wanted to kill the garbage, finally had the opportunity to be alone with her. I also chose my best car.
Forget it, that guy's hands are useless now, and I've vented my anger enough, so I'll teach him a lesson. I pulled out the car keys and went back to find her. She was standing there waiting for me obediently.
I showed the car keys, "Here, help me return it to your friend."
She held the keys tightly, "Okay."
She took the car keys was about to leave, I pulled her, "Where to?"
She tilted her head, "Home."
I took her hand and pushed her closer, "Sweetheart, it's not safe outside, I'll take you."
She shook her head in panic, "Really no need."
I put my arm around her waist "Sweetheart, you should know being beautiful is also a sin."
I interrupted what she was about to say and took her hand to leave this damn place. I put away the gun and walked with her while swinging her hand. She didn't refuse but smiled and swung it with me.
Should I say she is bold or really innocent? Anyway, I like her very much. Seeing her happy like a little girl, no matter how bad Gotham City is, I can meet her in the vast crowd, and life is finally a little healed.
She hummed softly, and I held her hand and walked beside her. It's nice to have such a peaceful and beautiful night, or it would be great if it could stay like this forever, but things don't happen as you wish.
"What's your name?" I asked suddenly.
She turned her head and said, "My name is Y/N."
"Hmm, beautiful, and your name is so perfect."
She let go of my hand and ran to me tilted her head, "You have been praising me from the beginning to now, why?"
I stopped, "I'm just telling the truth."
Frankly speaking, if I hadn't approached her as Red Hood, I wouldn't have the courage to keep flirting with her. I would be more cautious in daily life, but when I’m Red Hood, I would boldly say what I couldn't say.
You can say that I backed off and didn't have the courage. I wouldn't deny it, I didn't want to prove my identity as Jason Todd to her. I didn't want her to worry about my affairs. Even if she didn't worry, at least she wouldn't have to hide it for me.
I put my hands in my pockets and followed her. "So... what movie did you watch today?"
She thought about it and took out her phone to show me the photos. "I watched this one today."
I already knew it, but I just wanted to find a topic to talk to her. "This director's movies always been well-received."
She took back her phone. "The plot of the movie is great, but I was a little confused after watching it."
I quickened my pace and walked to her side. "Why?"
"If you fall in love with someone, if she dies and there is no news of her death, are you willing to wait for her?"
She cares about this kind of thing. I have never loved anyone deeply, but she makes me want to like her and love her. I don't know if my answer can be what she wants, but I want to answer as long as she asks.
"If that girl is you, I will definitely wait, and I am willing to be buried with you."
"You don't even know me, it's not appropriate to say such a thing."
My heart has never left her. I walked over step by step, opened my hands and gave her a hug, which is something Jason Todd can't do.
"Red Hood?"
I let go of her and touched her hair. "You have to know every relationship starts with strangers, just like you and me. You don't know who I am, and I don't know you, but I still have feelings for you."
Her face showed a faint smile. I don't know how many romantic experiences she has experienced. Every expression of hers is more smiling than sad, as if she hides many indescribable secrets.
"Emotions are so complicated." She murmured to herself.
"Hahaha, that's true. But..." I was silent for a moment.
"Red Hood?"
"If it's complicated because of you, I don't mind."
Under the illumination of the street lamp, I could see clearly that she looked at me with a red face. I had never seen her shy before. I thought she had no interest in me, but she had such an expression towards Red Hood.
What did I do to make her have such an expression? I approached her and bent down slightly to be at the same height as her. I noticed even her ears were red and she avoided my sight.
"Sweetheart, are you shy?" I couldn't help but tease her a little.
"I'm not!" She turned around.
I turned around and wanted to see her face. "Show me, my sweetheart is actually shy, so cute!"
"Idiot Red! I'm not your sweetheart!" She covered her face.
A strong smell of love filled my heart, my heart was beating non-stop as was about to jump out of my chest. A blush made a man like me feel excited and happy, it was like holding me tightly.
I grabbed her hand asked her to move her hand away from her face. I just wanted to occupy her now. I wanted to engrave everything about her in my heart and treasure it for a lifetime. Only I could have these beautiful things.
"Sweetheart, look at me." I said, she closed her eyes shook her head to refuse.
"Be obedient, look at me, sweetheart." I held her hands tightly.
She finally opened her eyes and looked at me. I don't know if it was because of my harsh tone, but what I wanted most now was to see her face. This was a moment that was worth cherishing and owning.
"You are so fucking beautiful that you have me fascinated." I told her rudely.
She was so surprised that she opened her eyes wide and blinked a few times, she couldn't believe it. I pulled her closer to her face. I couldn't help but feel happy. I didn't want us to be just friends.
Subconsciously, I did what Jason Todd couldn't do. I kissed her lips through the helmet. There was no direct lip contact between us, but when I stepped back, I saw her face was red.
"Idiot! Big idiot! Red Hood is an idiot!" She shouted a few times.
I laughed out loud"Hahaha! Sweetheart~sweetheart, you really make me want to bully you."
"You are annoying!" She shouted and started running.
I caught up with her and took her hand and ran together. "It's hard to get rid of me."
This night was so short. After running for a while, I saw her apartment. Until I sent her downstairs, our time together ended. Just over an hour had passed.
She had already stepped into the apartment door. I stood outside and waited for her to enter the elevator before I could leave with peace of mind. Before leaving, I saw her waving at me non-stop. I stayed there and waved my hand in response until the elevator door closed.
Now I was the only one left. I walked on the street and recalled the beautiful moment just now. Should I continue to interact with her as Red Hood or Jason Todd? Which one would she like more? They were the same person.
I looked at the night sky, which was full of stars. I let out a breath and told myself not to think about it. I would take it one step at a time. No matter who she chose, as long as she was happy, I would be happy too.
The communicator rang. It was Nightwing looking for me. I went to the old place to talk to him about the progress of the work that had just ended, the car, and to get a free snack from him.
When I arrived , I saw him sitting there eating. I took off my helmet and sat next to him. He handed me a bag of hamburgers. I took out the hamburger and took a bite of it and chewed it.
"The Beast and the Beauty~"
"Shut up, Dickhead."
"Are you worried about something?"
"I guess so..."
We were silent for a while, I took another bite. I felt more comfortable around Nightwing. Sometimes he would be annoying, but he would not ask too much about my personal affairs unless I told him.
"I have asked someone to send your car to the factory for repair, and the guy has been handed over to the police." He said.
I nodded "Yeah... good."
He turned to me "Are you angry because she grabbed your girlfriend or because he broke your car mirror?"
I looked at him "Do you need to answer?"
"Answer if you want to, otherwise don't."
"Both, let me first make it clear, she is not my girlfriend."
"Babybird, it's okay to be brave."
"Ha! What do you want to say..."
"You know it."
"Shit..."
"So?"
I sighed "The mask reminded me of what happened back then, so I shot."
"He was already unconscious when I arrived at the scene, but the mask did bring back memories."
"It was a fucking clown mask, so disgusting."
His hand held my shoulder. "I'll put the harsh words here first. If you still want to take revenge on Joker, I advise you to stay away from her. I don't want her to be dragged down by you."
He was right, even I couldn't say anything back. "I understand."
"Babybird... We both know what we want, but it's hard for us to bear the consequences. You and I have experienced it. Whether you two are friends or lovers, I sincerely hope you two can live a good life."
I looked at his face felt extremely sad, because he said the thing I was most afraid of facing very frankly. If one day my hands were stained with her blood, I might have gone crazy.
I hit his shoulder "I know very well, but I still won't introduce her to you!"
"You bastard! " He got up and ran after me.
I suddenly stopped and turned to look at him. "Nightwing!"
He stopped and looked confused. "What?"
I walked in front of him and stretched out my fist. "Promise me, if anything happens, protect her for me."
He also stretched out his fist and touched my fist. "Of course, I promise you, but you must introduce her to me."
"You so annoying."
"One more thing, I will protect you and let you return to her side safely." He retracted his fist.
Should I say he is a good brother or the best partner? It is difficult for me to hate him. He can always make the right judgment at the critical moment. He is also someone I admire.

In The Dark
Moon Knight : Fic
Steven Grant x Reader
Word Count: 2248
Warnings: the dark can be very spooky 👻
Request: “Please my baby Steven G. Imagine: The city has a blackout when the reader is in his loft (they're best friends) and she got scared. They cuddle a bit to calm her down and they confess their love + hands around your waist as he pulls you closer, goosebumps swarming every part of your body that he touches” Anon
A/N: After seeing a terribly scary movie, you find yourself in a blackout and scared of the dark
Tumblr media
It was dark inside the movie theater – only bright flashes of color as the screen played the horror flick. It smelt of buttered popcorn and warm pretzels, full of the sounds of crinkled wrappers and clinking ice cubes.
Not to mention the terrifying silence of the movie as the heroine peered around a darkened corner.
(Y/N) had long since eaten her popcorn, stress eating the bucket with exceptional speed, and was now scrunched in the chair with the tensest of muscles. Reclined in a cushioned theater seat, she pulled the blanket she brought to her chin, socked feet tucking closer and closer to her body.
She shouldn’t complain – it was her idea to see the latest and greatest scary movie after all. She had to say she was handling it better than her best friend positively quaking in the seat beside her.
Steven Grant – dependable, kind, intuitive Steven Grant – was not a fan of horror. Yet he still dealt with the ghosts, cults, and killers just to spend another evening with her.
(Y/N) couldn’t help but smile after the next jump scare. While she flinched terribly and clutched at her blanket, Steven nearly jumped a foot into the air. The next time they go out she would suggest getting a seatbelt for his chair.
“Shit,” he whispered tersely, “This is terrible.”
She smiled, “It’s so good.” She leaned closer to his side and found that he was already as close as he could get to her.
Their arms touched, (Y/N) much more scrunched than Steven and resting her head against his shoulder, supposedly to hide her face. From the high vantage point, Steven could gaze down and see her nuzzled against him.
(Y/N) would credit the fast pace of his heart to the movie. Steven would say it was from her touch.
The next jump scare, complete with a crescendo of sound, made Steven grip her hand with a cried, “Ah bollocks!”
She had to contain a giggle at his reaction, flickering her eyes to his hand covering the entirety of her own. She wiggled her fingers away from the blanket to thread between his.
His hand was limp at first, (Y/N) giving him a reassuring squeeze, supposedly to help him through the scariest bits.
Steven was scared alright, but not so much about the movie anymore. His dark eyes widened as her fingers found purchase between his. It was a blessing they were in the middle of a crowded theater where the proper etiquette was to remain quiet, because he would’ve said something terribly stupid and incoherent at the gesture.
He squeezed back, refraining from running his thumb along hers like he wanted to. Refraining from resting his head against hers like he wanted to. Refraining from lifting the armrest to pull her into a cuddle like he wanted to.
Instead they anxiously enjoyed the rest of the movie, holding hands as if it were just to support one another and not because they’ve been searching for an excuse to.
The credits began to roll, and (Y/N) promptly drew away, folding her blanket and grabbing the empty bucket of popcorn. Steven sat there and watched her a moment longer, hand open and waiting for her to take it again.
“Ready?” she asked, standing and looking at him with a questioning, if not puzzled, expression. “I’m not sure I can walk through the parking lot alone… in the dark.”
He took the hint with a few blinks to clear his lovestruck vision. “Course,” he said, “Allow me.” He draped her blanket over his arm and took the popcorn.
She smiled, leading the way outside. It was late into the night, cars surrounded by a blanket of chilled darkness. The only light came from a few yellowed streetlamps giving off a faint hum of electricity.
(Y/N) hummed her anxiety as they walked nearly shoulder to shoulder. Steven looked at her knowingly.
“You know, one would think loving horror movies meant you were past things like being afraid of the dark.”
“Movies are different,” she said defensively, but a smile was on her face, “I know it’s just a screen. But real life?” she looked around into the darkness, “My imagination kind of runs wild. There could be anything hiding in there.”
Steven hid a grin, “I think you like being scared.”
“No one likes being scared.”
“It’s your rush of adrenaline,” he said, letting her drive as he got into the passenger seat. “You’re an adrenaline junkie when you’re scared.”
She made sure the doors were locked – twice, “Maybe you’re right.” She eyed the dark streets tentatively before putting the keys into the ignition. “I’m going to regret it when I try to sleep tonight.”
Steven kept sneaking looks at her face. His hands were subconsciously fisted in the blanket.
“Do you… do you want to come back to my place, maybe?”
“And watch another scary movie?” she laughed.
“No, no…” he said with a wince, “Just until we calm down enough to sleep. If we’re going to be up all night scared we might as well do it together.”
She turned the wheel, “Not a bad idea.” She gave him a look, “As long as you don’t mind me possibly crashing there.”
Steven stared at her a moment before spluttering, “Oh, no not at all. You’re welcome to. You could take my bed if you wanted. In fact I insist. You should take my bed.”
She started laughed again, “Steven, I couldn’t take your bed. I’ll curl up on the lounge chair.”
He hummed his disapproval, “Oh that simply won’t do.”
“You don’t exactly have an adult sized couch in your flat,” she said, “And it’s not like I haven’t taken naps in that chair before.”
They bickered about it the entire car ride until (Y/N) cleverly said, “What are you going to do? Tie me up with that ankle restraint of yours?”
Every thought evaporated from Steven’s mind at that image.
They got into the flat with a heated discussion of the movie plot – the quality of scares, number of twists, and overall acting – it made their nerves flutter into something more lighthearted. Steven offered to make a cup of tea and (Y/N) occupied the lounge chair near the little tv.
“I just don’t understand why someone would willingly choose to walk towards a scary noise,” Steven mused, pouring the kettle into two mugs. “It’s like they have no survival instincts, innit?”
(Y/N) craned her neck to talk to him, “I’d walk towards a scary noise.”
“You would not.”
“I would want to know who’s breaking into my bloody house! You think I’d go to sleep after hearing something and not investigating?”
Steven opened a box of teabags, “And that, love, is why you’d be the first character to die.”
“Nonsense,” she chortled, “You’d give yourself away with calling out ‘hello?’ and become the next target.”
There was a faint pop and the entire flat fell into darkness. It was as if someone threw a bag over their heads, muffling not just light but the sound as well. It was eerily quiet and full of pinpricks on the back of the neck.
(Y/N) was the first to let out a breath, “Steven?” It was only a couple seconds later but her fear drew out the time.
“Hang on,” came his voice, “Power might’ve gone out.”
A clatter on the table and a hiss from Steven meant he bumped into the cups of tea. He was scrambling for the light switch near the door.
(Y/N) pulled her knees to her chest, turning towards where she knew the window was. It was dark outside, but she was hoping to see the streetlamps below through the glass. The fact that she couldn’t see a speck of light told her that the power might’ve gone out on the whole block.
The clicking of the light switch preceded Steven groaning, “It’s a power outage.” He gave a huffy laugh, “Brilliant.”
“Um… Steven?”
He tensed at her voice, “Yeah?”
She swallowed hard, “Could you come over here? I’m…” She sounded small, as if the dark was stifling her, “It’s a little scary.”
“Right – yeah, ‘course.” He licked his lips, extending his arms to feel for any incoming furniture as his eyes adjusted to the darkness. “Oof, sorry,” he apologized to the dining table that bit into his shin.
(Y/N) jumped at the crash but was grateful for the sound distracting her from what could be lurking in the dark. Steven kept apologizing to the things he was toppling over.
The books on the desk, stubbing his toe, “Sorry.” The rug tripping his feet, “So sorry.”
He could vaguely make out the lounge chair and (Y/N)’s silhouette, “Hello there.”
She gave a shaky sigh, “Hi.”
Steven crouched beside her, holding onto the armrest, “Are you alright?” He tried to make out her face in the dark, clearly more frightened than his own.
“How unlucky to have seen a horror movie right before a blackout,” her little laugh was strained, “I think my nerves are shot.”
“Oh,” he sounded worried, “Oh, it’s alright. It’s just a little power outage. There’s nothing to be scared of here.”
“Just the dark.”
Steven smiled, “Nope, I’m afraid it’s just me and Gus. There’s nothing else here.”
Her hand found his against the armrest, “Could we sit here… just until the lights come back on.”
White noise filled Steven’s head, his expression going slack. He hesitated while he thought of sitting there just him and (Y/N) for what could be hours. “Of course, love.”
She pulled on his wrist, urging him into the chair.
He fumbled, “Oh you mean… in the… right.” He awkwardly fell into the chair, pressed snug to (Y/N). He held his hands out, unsure where to put them, laying their stiffly with nowhere to go.
(Y/N) took the initiative, wrapping her arms around his waist, half laying on him with a leg bent between his. He just laid there, scrunched and uncomfortable with his hands poised in the air around them.
She squeezed him, sighing into his side, and his stomach flipped.
“Steven.”
“Yeah,” he whispered dryly. The funny feeling in his stomach was taking hold of his throat.
“You can hold me back,” she said, “It might be a while before the lights come on – I need you to protect me.”
He choked, “Right, sorry.”
His hands were tentative as he wrapped them around her waist. Some of his fingers found her ribs and became frozen. One swipe up with his thumb and he’d be brushing the underside of her…
“Are you okay?” she suddenly asked. “You’re hardly breathing.”
The only noise Steven could make was a strangled laugh.
His soft, hesitant fingers were sending goosebumps across her arms.
“Are you feeling better about the dark?” he asked quietly.
“Yes,” she said, feeling all warm and covered in pinpricks. “Thanks to you.”
“My pleasure,” he said. He was starting to melt into her. Now not so uncomfortable with their position. He wrapped around her more tightly, finding comfort in the way her head nestled beneath his chin.
It was the perfect excuse to hold her close. First the horror movie and then the blackout. One would think unseen forces were trying to draw them together.
After a long few moments, Steven cleared his throat, stirring her against him.
“What is it?” she asked, eyes fully adjusted to the dark now. She watched his fingers find a seam in her shirt and begin to nervously trace and pick at it.
“I’ve been thinking,” he said above the sound of his own thrumming heart, “We’ve been friends for a while, yeah?”
She smiled, “Best friend I have.”
The pride filling his chest in combination with his erratic heart was making it more difficult to continue, “Well, I was thinking, what would you say to getting dinner with me?”
“What, at that new Thai place we talked about earlier?”
“No,” he said quickly, “No, I was thinking something in a nicer part of town.”
She leaned into him, “You want to get all dressed up?”
“And take you out.”
She stilled against him, and his heart leapt into his throat, effectively choking him as he awaited her response.
“Take me out… like on a date?”
He fought every nerve in his body to keep his voice even. “Yeah, if you like. But if not we could try that Thai place like you said.” He held onto her as if his confession would make her want to leave. “It was just a thought.”
There was a smile in her tone when she finally replied, “You beat me to it.” She had to hold him back just as tightly to keep herself from squirming, “I’ve been spending all night trying to come up with a way to tell you.”
He was shifting in her grasp, trying to get her to look at him, “What?”
She felt that flip in her stomach to hear his disbelief, and she rose her head to meet his gaze, “It’s been months now,” she said warmly, “And I still haven’t found the right way to tell you I love you.”
Steven gawked, incoherent strings of words falling from his mouth. “I… I love you too.” He turned achingly sweet, a hand rising to cup her cheek and touch her hair. “I love you too!” he repeated, eyes crinkling in the corners as a smile overtook his face.
And the dark wasn’t so scary anymore.

Car Troubles
Chapter 3
< - >
“Ok, so what’s this movie about again?” Nancy asked.
She and Robin were in the backseat of Steve’s car as he drove to the now-closed movie theater.
“This newly engaged couple gets a flat tire in a storm and finds this, like, creepy mansion and meets all these weird people partying to celebrate something the master of the manor has accomplished. Things only get weirder through the night as they encounter the mad scientist who owns the place and his unconventional creation.” Robin was grinning as she vaguely explained the plot to the other two.
“I still don’t understand why they wouldn’t just show it in the theater normally,” Steve spoke up, Robin had been evasive in his questions about this film. He was starting to worry about what could be so bad.
“Trust me, this town would lose it if this was ever shown publicly. You’ll understand once you watch it.”
“Have you ever tried not being so vague?”
“Nope!”
Steve parked a few stores down from the theater. “Eddie said to meet him in the alley.”
“Let’s hurry! I don’t want to miss it!” Robin practically jumped out of the car with Nancy right behind her.
The teens walked past the stores and around the movie theater to the alley behind the building. It only took a moment to spot Eddie in the alley. The young man was dressed in all black with a tattered old band shirt cut into a crop top, a knee-length skirt over ripped fishnets, and a tight leather jacket, his makeup as dark as the rest of his outfit.
Steve felt his face grow warm as he stared at Eddie, gesturing them over to the back door. His heart was racing in his chest. He felt as if he couldn’t take his eyes off the man in front of him.
“Steve? Are you ok?” Nancy’s voice broke through Steve’s daze, bringing him back from his thoughts.
“Huh? “Oh, uh, yeah, sorry, let’s head in,” He shook himself back to the present as he and the others walked into the back of the theater.
“I’m glad I wore my good suspenders now,” Robin chuckled as she nodded to Eddie’s outfit.
Eddie grinned, leading them to the last showing room down the hall. “Yeah, a lot of us thought it’d be in good spirits to dress up a little unconventionally.”
As they walked into the darkened room, they noticed there were only a little over 30 other people seated. Most were people like Eddie and his friends, but Steve noticed a few people from the basketball team. And the cheer squad. And band. What movie could get all these people to hang out with each other in secret like this?
Steve couldn’t think too hard about it before a hand from the crowd waved them over to 4 empty seats.
“Is that Chrissy Cunningham?!” Robin practically shouted.
Eddie chuckled. “Yeah, she’s pretty cool. She helped me with my makeup.”
The group made their way to the empty seats next to Chrissy. She was dressed in a plain dress shirt and slacks with an old vest and matching tie. Steve felt even more underdressed for this movie.
“Hey! I’m so glad you guys could make it! It’s Steve, Nancy, and Robin, right?” Chrissy cheerily stood up to greet the group of teens. It made sense why she was captain of the cheer squad now. The girl practically radiated pep.
“Yep, that’s us! It’s nice to meet you, Chrissy.” Nancy stuck out her hand for Chrissy to shake. Chrissy giggled as she shook the other girl’s hand.
“It’s good to finally meet you too! I read every issue of the school newspaper; I love what you’ve done with it this year!”
“Oh wow, thank you! I’m glad the improvements have been noticed!”
“Yeah, you can absolutely tell the difference between the past issues and now. Like someone’s putting actual effort into it for once.”
“I hate to interrupt but the movie’s gonna start soon soooo,” Eddie said as he took the seat closest to the aisle.
“Oh! Right, sorry! Let’s absolutely talk later though, I’d love to hear your thoughts about the paper.”
“Totally!”
The rest of the teens took their seats and quietly chatted as they waited for the movie to start.
The dark room was suddenly illuminated by the 20th Century Fox logo projected onto the screen followed by a pair of red lips on the black background.
“Michael Rennie was ill, the day the earth stood still.”
I guess it’s a musical, Steve thought. Cute wedding.
“The river was deep, but I swam it.”
So, they’re the main couple, got it. He just had chalk on him? Aw, he proposed.
“I would like, if I may...”
Who’s this guy? How’d he get all those pictures?? I knew it was a horror movie.
“Yes, Janet. Life’s pretty cheap to that type.”
That line earned a row of boos from some of the crowd, including Eddie.
“In the velvet darkness...”
Definitely a horror movie. It was literally called the ‘Frankenstein Place’! They’re not coming out of that castle. That bald guy’s gonna kill them. Well, that maid is definitely crazy!
“It’s astounding. Time is fleeting.”
Steve could hear the crowd getting excited, some even singing along with the movie.
“Let’s do the time warp again!”
Steve smiled as he looked around at the people who got up to dance in the aisle. He didn’t think a horror movie could be this silly. He looked at his group next to him. Robin had pulled Nancy into the aisle to dance while Chrissy cheered them on. He chuckled while watching Nancy nervously dance along with Robin’s fast pace. Those two were total opposites but fit so well together. He turned his attention to Eddie who was singing along and playing the air guitar. His eyes met Steve’s and he gave his signature grin. Steve quickly turned back to the screen, trying to ignore the blush on his face.
“How do you do?”
Steve jumped as the crowd erupted into cheers and whistles and applause. His jaw almost dropped as the flamboyant character strutted onto the screen. He’d never seen anything like this on TV before, he couldn’t take his eyes off the screen. I guess he knew why it’s a secret now.
He quickly pulled his thoughts back to the plot of the movie.
“I hold the secret to life itself!”
So, it is like Frankenstein. That’s why it’s called ‘Rocky Horror’! Wow, that guy is muscular...
“Eddie!”
Steve couldn’t help but chuckle and turn to the man next to him. The similarities between the two were abundant.
“Whoo! Yeah!” He cheered at his fictional namesake.
Steve nodded along to the music until Frank N Furter came running onto the screen with a pickaxe.
Oh shit! Guess we’re back to horror... Oh, he’s gay, that makes sense.
“Who is it? Who’s there?”
Probably the murderer. Oh, it’s Brad. OH THAT’S NOT BRAD Wait, I thought he liked guys?
Poor Rocky... Those two are assholes.
“Oh, Brad, darling, it’s no good here!”
Oh, hey there’s Janet again. NOT AGAIN So he does like guys... and girls?
“What’s happening here? Where’s Brad?”
Brad’s, uh, busy. Poor Rocky... How are you going to be mad? You did the same thing! I’m no doctor but I don’t think that’s how you dress a wound right. Is that a Mickey Mouse hat?
“I was feeling done in.”
Ah, unexpected romance. Oh- uh, this got horny real fast-
“Mercy!”
Oh, here comes the others, this won’t end well... Nice Jacket. New character? Earthling? Oh yeah, that professor guy they went to go see. Oh, he’s mad...
“Great Scott!”
Steve chuckled at the Back to the Future reference.
Eddie? Well, unfortunately, he’s dead. Nephew? Oh shit- And Janet’s been caught.
“Master! Dinner is prepared!”
Worst timing ever... Awkward... Poor girl... she really liked Eddie... Aliens??
“From the day he was born,”
Just talking shit about your missing nephew, ok. Oh shit, he left a note! OH FUCK, HIS BODY
“I’ll tell you once. I won’t tell you twice!”
Someone’s jealous. He’s trapped them... With science! Earth people?? Well, now you’re all statues.
“My God! I can’t stand any more of this!”
Yes! Stand up for yourself! Avenge Eddie! Ah damn...
“It was great when it all began!”
Oh yay! She’s back! Damn Rocky can sing! Brad’s gonna fall in those shoes... Well, Judy’s doing just fine! Do they just have a pool under their stage?? OH SHIT HIS LEGS Heh back to rock n roll!
“Frank N Furter!”
What the fuck?? Wait are they really aliens???
“Wait! I can explain!”
That’s... really sweet... They’re not gonna kill him, right?? No! Oh shit, it doesn’t kill Rocky! No! Rocky!
“And crawling on the planet’s face, some insects called the human race, lost in time and lost in space and meaning.”
“Science Fiction...”
Most of the crowd, including Eddie, Chrissy, and Robin, stood up and cheered as the credits rolled. Steve sat in his seat, staring at the screen.
“Wow.” Nancy’s voice broke the silence beside him, similarly, staring at the now dark screen in front of them.
“Yeah,” was all Steve could respond with. Steve imagined she was having a similar reaction to the movie as he did, a mix of shock, awe, and confusion.
“Well, it certainly explains the secrecy,” Nancy chuckled.
“Heh, yeah, definitely.”
Eddie turned to the rest of the group as the audience started to make their way out of the theater.
“You guys wanna grab some food?”
“Sounds good to me.” Nancy and Steve stood up and followed the others back out to the alley.
“I know a great place near the trailer park, just follow my van.” Eddie and Chrissy made their way to the beat-up old van parked right behind the theater.
“Got it, my car’s just a couple stores down. I’ll pull it up.” Steve started walking to where he had parked the car. He got in, put the key into the ignition, and… Nothing.
“What?”
He turned the key once, twice, and three more times. The car wouldn’t start.
“Fuck!” Steve slammed the door shut as he got out and walked back to the group.
“What’s wrong? I thought you were gonna bring the car around?” Robin asked, crossing her arms to fight the slight chill in the air.
“Car troubles. Again. The damn thing won’t start.”
“God dammit, Steve. Just replace that junk already!”
“You try car shopping on our paycheck, Rob!”
“Want me to take a look at it? I’ve my toolbox in the van,” Eddie offered.
“Yeah, that’d be great, thank you so much, Eddie.”
Eddie smiled as he opened his van’s back door and grabbed his toolbox. “No problem, pretty boy.”
A blush crept its way across Steve’s face again. That seemed to happen a lot around Eddie. Steve ignored the glances exchanged between the girls and led Eddie to his car.

Chapter 005 - Dates
The first date was to the movies. It wasn’t much but he took you out on a Friday night when no one would bother you so you both could just spend time together without having to worry about interruptions. He told you to wear whatever you wanted so you went for the flowy tank top with blue jeans because it was still warm outside. And as soon as he saw you walk down the stairs towards him, he couldn’t help but smile at you.
You looked absolutely stunning. Your hair fell softly around your shoulders, letting your outfit shine while keeping you comfortable. Even though you usually preferred to dress a bit more conservatively, you made an exception tonight. Maybe this could be the start of something amazing.
He got you the tickets and waited patiently as you paid for them. As you were walking to the movie theater he took off his jacket and handed it to you, making sure you didn’t need anything else before he walked inside with you.
When the lights dimmed you sat close to him, leaning against his shoulder. There were a few awkward moments but then suddenly the movie started. You had no idea how long you were watching it but eventually the movie ended and there was a lot of silence between the two of you. The theater was almost empty and since it was late the only people who were still left were probably drunk college students who wanted to pass out instead of going home. The cool air surrounded you, making it feel perfect as you sat there, waiting for Mark to speak up.
Finally, he did.
“So, uh, how’d you like the movie?” He asked, smiling slightly.
“It was okay.” You replied, blushing slightly. “Did you like it?”
“It was pretty good.” He nodded. “Was it just okay for you? Or is it like…”
“Just okay?” You cut him off, hoping he wouldn’t notice how much you were blushing. “No, I liked it.”
“Good.” He nodded. “Me too. Now let’s go get dinner.”
Then he stood up and offered his hand to you. You hesitated before taking it and after you both stepped out of the movie theater, Mark started walking forward, pulling you along behind him. The street lamps lit the path before you as you kept up with him, feeling slightly lost in the darkness. He led you towards the town center and after a short distance of walking he stopped and pointed at a place nearby. A restaurant. You were hungry and hadn’t eaten yet today so you followed him inside.
After you ordered food you sat down at a table and started eating. You had just taken a bite when Mark finally spoke up again.
“So, is there anything special you want to do next?” He asked, grinning. “We haven’t really talked much today so I guess we should.”
“Sure.” You shrugged. “What do you wanna talk about?”
“Well,” Mark replied. “Why did you decide to become an author? And why romance of all genres?”
“Hmm.” You thought about it for a moment. “I guess I’ve always been creative so writing seemed natural for me. And my mother is a writer so I guess she influenced me as well. Romance is my favorite genre. Why do you ask?”
“I’ve always wondered that.” Mark chuckled, rubbing his chin. “I mean, from what I know, you like muscular guys like Jaehyun and Yuta. I’m not exactly the most attractive guy you could date but-”
“Mark!” You chuckled lightly, shaking your head. “Don’t even think like that.”
“But seriously.” Mark continued. “I was just wondering why you would like someone like me when you could have any hot guy out there.”
“Why does anyone choose to date someone?” You laughed lightly. “Because they find them interesting. Because they connect with them. I’m attracted to men because I find them physically attractive and I find them emotionally attractive as well. But I also like you as a person. Sure, I may find other guys hotter but I won’t deny that I’m intrigued by you. Besides, if you find me attractive, I’ll make sure you’re satisfied sexually. I promise.”
“You seem to know what you’re talking about.” Mark grinned. “How’d you learn that?”
“Experience.” You smiled. “Now, about our date. How do you want to spend the rest of the night?”
Tumblr media
The second date was at the beach. Mark insisted on driving you somewhere far away where no one would bother you. The sun beat down on you as the ocean crashed against the shoreline, making it difficult to stay in the sunlight. After you ate lunch at the restaurant near the beach you decided to explore a little bit. And when you found a beautiful cliff overlooking the ocean you decided to climb down, holding onto the rail as you slid down until you reached the bottom. Then you began exploring the rocks as you walked towards the water, kicking them with your feet as you went. Finally, you sat on a rock, leaning against it, the waves splashing against the stone beneath you. You closed your eyes and let the breeze brush against your skin, listening to the sound of the ocean and the waves crashing against the rock. When you opened your eyes you noticed Mark staring at you. He smiled lightly as he approached you.
“Wow.” He breathed out. “I knew you were gorgeous but damn. You are just breathtaking.”
“Thanks.” You mumbled. “You’re kind of hot yourself.”
"Stop trying to get into my pants." Mark laughed lightly as he knelt down beside you. "You're ruining the moment here."
"Not at all." You giggled. "That's the whole point of this date. We both get to enjoy each other's company and not worry about sex. So now's the perfect time to take advantage of it."
"Hmph." Mark rolled his eyes playfully. "You have no shame do you?"
"None whatsoever." You replied. "If I'm being honest, this is actually really awkward for me. This is the first time I've dated anyone in a long time."
"Yeah." Mark sighed. "I remember when I last dated. I tried to impress her with my intellect and charm and blah blah blah. And it was totally stupid because I realized later on that she was just impressed by my looks. At least that's what happened to me anyway."
"Well damn," You let out a soft laugh. "I guess I'm screwed since I'm impressed by your looks."
"Hey!" Mark snapped, grabbing your hands. "I am NOT going to fuck you!"
"Well, that's disappointing." You shrugged, squeezing his hands. "I'd hoped for at least a kiss or two."
"Don't push your luck." Mark smirked.
"Okay fine." You pouted. "But we're still doing these dates right?"
"Right." Mark nodded. "As long as you keep acting like you don't want to bang me, then yes. These dates will continue."
You snorted lightly and leaned back, closing your eyes as you enjoyed the warmth of the sun beating down on you. In that moment everything felt so perfect, so wonderful, that you didn't want to leave. You just wanted to stay there forever, with Mark by your side, sharing smiles and laughs.
"Ready to go back up?" Mark whispered in your ear.
You sighed lightly, tilting your head upwards. "Nope. Not ready to leave yet."
Tumblr media
For the third date Mark suggested something different: A game night. You agreed, mostly because you needed some time alone with him, to discuss things like he said earlier.
Once you arrived at his apartment, you noticed a stack of games on the coffee table. You helped him pick one and once he got started, you joined him, eager to discover new things about each other. During the game night you learned more about him than you ever imagined possible. Things about his past that you thought you already knew and stuff about himself that he had hidden. You shared memories with him that made you feel nostalgic and had him share some stories with you that made you blush. By the end of the night you were exhausted but in a good way. Like you had experienced something important with him and now you were connected on a level that couldn’t be broken.
At some point during the evening you must have fallen asleep because when you woke up you were curled up next to him on the couch. The room was dark except for the moonlight shining through the window. When you lifted your head, your eyes met his. He was looking at you with such affection that it made your heart skip a beat.
It wasn’t love but it was definitely something.
"Hello sleepyhead." Mark greeted you gently. "Wake up."
You yawned and rubbed your eyes before sitting up. When you turned to look at him, you saw that he was already sitting up on the couch, leaning forwards with his elbows resting on his knees.
"Sorry." You yawned again. "Guess I fell asleep. What time is it?"
"Midnight." He answered. "If you're tired, I can walk you over to your unit. Or you can spend the night here."
"Yeah and then Johnny, Renjun, and Yangyang will definitely say something the next time we all have breakfast." You chuckled. "So yeah, thanks for offering but I'll sleep at home tonight. Thanks for asking though."
"Anytime." Mark smiled warmly at you. "And if you need anything, don't hesitate to come see me."
"Will do." You gave him a small smile. "Night Mark."
"Good night." Mark returned the gesture.
When you entered your unit you quietly took off your clothes and crawled under the covers, snuggling into your bed sheets. As you drifted off to sleep you smiled softly, thinking about your conversation with Mark and your date. You were happy. For the first time in a long time you were truly happy. Everything felt so wonderful.
Tumblr media
Sometime around 4am you woke up. Your entire body ached as you stretched out and when you looked over at your alarm clock, you saw that it was 4:05am. You groaned softly as you sat up and reached over to turn off the alarm clock. Even though you wanted to go back to sleep, your muscles refused to cooperate and you ended up lying awake for another hour before you finally decided to get out of bed. If you were lucky enough, you might be able to catch some extra sleep.
It was 6am when you stumbled into the kitchen to make some coffee. You had barely poured a cup of coffee when someone knocked on the door.
"Coming!" You called out loudly.
As you slowly walked towards the door, you pulled your hair up into a messy bun, tying it with a black ribbon. It was only then that you realized you had forgotten to change your clothes. God damn it. Well, whoever was knocking on the door probably didn't care. Still, you cringed internally as you grabbed the knob and unlocked the door.
Your hand froze midair as you looked at who stood outside your front door.
It was Mark.
Shit.
He saw you looking at him and he grinned.
"What?" He teased. "Cat got your tongue?"
You stood aside to let him in and once he was inside, you shut the door behind him. His eyes trailed across your body before landing on your face.
"Well hello there." He smiled warmly. "Looking…fresher than usual."
"Hi." You mumbled shyly. "Sorry. Didn't realize it was you until I unlocked the door."
"You look tired." He frowned. "Are you okay?"
"I am now." You shook your head. "But a couple hours ago I couldn't fall asleep. That's probably why I look so tired."
"Did you miss me?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Uhm…" You paused. "Maybe?"
He laughed lightly. "See I told you that you missed me."
"Oh whatever." You huffed. "I wouldn't miss you for the world."
"Right." He chuckled. "We'll just see about that. Now let's talk. I have some questions for you."
"Sure." You agreed, leading him to the living room. "Let's sit down."
After sitting down, Mark set his backpack on the floor and unzipped it, pulling out several books and papers. You watched him curiously as he flipped through the pages of the books, scanning them with his eyes before he carefully placed them back into his bag. He grabbed one of the papers from his bag and handed it to you.
"Here." He mumbled. "Read it. I want you to tell me how you feel after you finish reading it."
You read the paper silently, not quite understanding what he meant by it.
But soon you did.
You could feel yourself begin to flush red as you finished reading the page. On the paper, Mark wrote something in red ink: 'Do you like me?'
There was a question mark after the sentence.
This was a test. You knew it was a test. But why? Why was he testing you? You read the sentence over and over again in your mind. Did you like him? Do you like him? Do you like him? And every time you read those words your cheeks grew even warmer. You continued to stare at the paper, feeling the heat rise within you. Your body began to shake slightly as you waited for Mark to speak.
"Well?" He asked.
"Um…" You gulped. "Uhm."
Mark laughed lightly. "Is that a yes or a no?"
You quickly looked up at him.
"What?" You stuttered. "Am I supposed to answer that? Are you making fun of me or something?"
"No." Mark shook his head. "The purpose of this little exercise is to find out whether or not you like me."
"Well, if you needed an answer..." You crossed your arms and let out a small laugh. "...not yet."
"Really?" He asked, a smile coming to his lips. "Guess, I have to try harder then."

I See Queen Mab Hath Been With You
Tumblr media
Eddie Munson x OC, Eddie Munson x Henderson!Reader, Fluff, Shakespeare, Pining
Lucy Henderson Character Bio, Lucy's Tag in General
Summary: Eddie proves he paid more attention in English than he lets on. OR, how Lucy discovered Eddie reciting Shakespeare is really hot.
Warning: This contains the entirety of the Queen Mab speech from Romeo and Juliet
Based on anon request: I’m feeling ridiculously soft for Eddie and Lucy rn. Any drabbles or one shots about a soft moment during the craziness or before the craziness of season 4?
A/N: I literally came up with this yesterday. I couldn't help it, the theater nerd is strong with me.
Word Count: 1.8K
    “Bullshit.”
    “Scouts honor.”
“You were never in the scouts.”
“Well what else am I supposed to swear on?”
Lucy rolled her eyes, holding back a smile. She had been doing it all night and was starting to get good at it.
It was late. Their movie had ended and Lucy had dared to take Eddie up on his suggestion to just walk for a while. It wasn’t an unusual request. They did it all the time, but spending so much time alone with him was proving treacherous.
Her little crush hadn’t faded since the end of the semester and they were almost to July. It felt like it was getting worse.
She thought some distance would do her some good, but Eddie had called her out of the blue and she couldn’t think of a good excuse not to. They were still friends. She couldn’t avoid him forever. A movie seemed innocent enough; dark, limited talking, safe. She had even managed to pay attention to what was on screen for most of it. Even still, his occasional commentary in her ear drove her to distraction. She honestly couldn’t remember anything of what they had just seen by the time they walked out.
If she had any sense she would have made up some excuse about work in the morning, but then he smiled and she knew she’d do just about anything he asked.
He kept the conversation going for the first stretch and eventually Lucy was able to relax enough to answer back. Nothing had changed. Eddie was still Eddie. She just had to remind herself of that and not get herself into a tizzy over a laugh or a look.
They had even managed to move past the subject of the movie to, of all things, Shakespeare. Somewhere in their rambles Lucy grumbled about wishing she could rent an apartment for three months to do summer stock in a big city or even just Shakespeare in the park. This prompted Eddie to make a rather bold claim pertaining to Mercutio and Queen Mab.
“Why would you even try to memorize the Queen Mab speech?” Lucy protested.
He shrugged. “It’s cool. I mean the rest of the play is gooey, lovey dovey shlock, but all the Mercutio stuff is awesome. Besides, I needed the extra credit.”
“So you just up and performed in front of the entire class for a couple extra points?”
He scoffed. “Please, if I did that my reputation would never recover. Mr. Kennedy just let me do it at lunch.”
Lucy’s lips pressed into a line. Mr. Kennedy was known for being one of the more reasonable teachers at Hawkins. She could see him offering to let Eddie perform privately if he felt like Eddie was otherwise putting in the effort. Still, she couldn’t help feeling like he was pulling her leg.
Eddie caught her skeptical expression. “You don’t believe me.”
“I just don’t see it,” she admitted.
He nodded, his brows creasing in deep thought. It only took him a moment to come to a decision. “Okay.”
He took two long strides ahead before jumping up on a bench in front of an empty store front. He cleared his throat, placing a hand over his heart.
“I, Edward Munson, shall perform Shakespeare’s Queen Mab for the judgment and viewing pleasure of this illustrious audience,” he announced in the most obnoxious British accent he could muster as he gestured to the non-existent crowd.
Lucy let out a laugh, which only encouraged him.
“Now I shall require some audience participation,” he said, peering down at her with a scrupulous eye, “assuming the audience has the play memorized as well.”
    “We do,” she assured.
“Excellent,” he grinned, dropping the accent while he was at it. “Now, let me see, how does it start?" He tapped his chin. "Romeo says, 'I dreampt a dream tonight'. Mercutio, 'And so did I'."
Lucy smiled. "Well, what was yours?"
Eddie grinned and something else seemed to shift inside him, like the turning of a dial. She'd seen it a handful of times when a campaign took on a particularly dramatic turn. A sudden tremble of anticipation shot through her.
"That dreamers often lie," he answered.
"In bed asleep while they do dream things true," she replied.
"O," he crouched down, meeting her straight in the eye, "then I see Queen Mab hath been with you."
He leaned in, his eyes glimmering with an unbalanced glee. “She is the fairies' midwife, and she comes, in shape no bigger than an agate-stone,” he raised his finger waving it in front of her eyes, “on the fore-finger of an alderman, drawn with a team of little atomies, athwart men's noses as they lie asleep.”
Ever so slowly he began to rise, his hands and arms animating every line.
“Her wagon-spokes made of long spiders' legs, the cover of the wings of grasshoppers, the traces of the smallest spider's web, the collars of the moonshine's watery beams, her whip of cricket's bone, the lash of film, her wagoner a small grey-coated gnat, not so big as a round little worm Prick'd from the lazy finger of a maid; her chariot is an empty hazel-nut, made by the joiner squirrel or old grub, time out o' mind the fairies' coachmakers. And in this state she gallops night by night through lovers' brains, and then they dream of love.”
He drawled out the final word mockingly as he once again turned his attention toward her, sinking down to her level.
“O'er courtiers' knees, that dream on court'sies straight,” he continued, pointing to her knees. “O'er lawyers' fingers, who straight dream on fees,” he took her hand, pinching the ends of her fingers.  “O'er ladies ' lips, who straight on kisses dream,” he brushed her lips, or, at least, came close enough the air of his movements tickled her skin.
Lucy could feel her cheeks heat at the gesture. She thought he might stop to comment, but he didn’t break his stride as his expression kept up that half crazed smile.
“Which oft the angry Mab with blisters plagues, because their breaths with sweetmeats tainted are.” He straightened up, waving his hand in front of his nose as if offended by the smell.
“Sometime she gallops o'er a courtier's nose,” he went on, now using his own body as demonstration. “And then dreams he of smelling out a suit; and sometime comes she with a tithe-pig's tail, tickling a parson's nose as a' lies asleep, then dreams, he of another benefice: sometime she driveth o'er a soldier's neck, and then dreams he of cutting foreign throats.”
He clutched his neck and Lucy felt something else change. Still in character, but the glee was gone, replaced with a menace that made her spine straighten.
“Of breaches,” he continued, “ambuscadoes, Spanish blades, of healths five-fathom deep; and then anon Drums in his ear,” he slammed his hand behind him making the glass of the storefront vibrate, “at which he starts and wakes, and being thus frighted swears a prayer or two and sleeps again.”
His eyes widened, his body like a live wire as if about the fall of the edge.
“This is that very Mab, that plats the manes of horses in the night, and bakes the elflocks in foul sluttish hairs, which once untangled, much misfortune bodes,” he shouted. “This is the hag, when maids lie on their backs, That presses them and learns them first to bear, making them women of good carriage: This is she—”
"Peace, peace,” Lucy interjected, grabbing his hand. She didn’t know how she remembered the line, but was grateful she did. It would all feel a waste if she didn’t. “Mercutio, peace. Thou talk'st of nothing."
"True,” he admitted, as if suddenly allowed to breathe again. He jumped down from the bench, never letting go of her hand as he looked down into her eyes. “I talk of dreams, which are the children of an idle brain, begot of nothing but vain fantasy, which is as thin of substance as the air, and more inconstant than the wind, who woos, even now the frozen bosom of the north, and, being angered, puffs away from thence, turning his side to the dew-dropping South."
A silence fell then, not that Lucy notice for the thundering of her heart in her ears. She felt like her whole body was shaking. He really needed to stop looking at her like that.
Suddenly he looked away and up to the ceiling.
"I think it's Benvolio after that," he said, speculatively.
"Yeah," Lucy said, breathlessly. "I think you're right."
Eddie looked back down. Mercutio was gone and he was back to his usual teasing self. "Good?"
"Good?" she repeated. "Eddie, that was…holy shit!”
She covered her mouth with her hands in some vain attempt to hide her smile and surely obvious blush.
She could say a lot of things to say about his impromptu performance; amazing, transcendent, mind blowing, but the one she kept coming back to was hot.  It was very, very hot. She couldn’t for the life of her explain why, but it was just about the sexiest thing she’d ever seen him do.
This was worse than when he ran lines with her for As You Like It.  New rule going forward, never let Eddie Munson perform Shakespeare. It was bad for her health.
It didn’t help that he was grinning at her now with the most adorably proud expression.
“Think I earned that extra credit then?” he teased.
“I think you deserve a full ride to Julliard.”
He laughed. She couldn’t be sure, but she could have sworn his cheeks were slightly pink.
“Seriously, that was incredible,” she continued. “Why haven’t you auditioned before? You would be amazing.”
He waved her off. “Oh c’mon Henderson, you know the rules. Seniors take priority. If I join now they’d have to commit to a one man show. Wouldn’t be fair to the rest of you.”
“You should still give it a shot,” she insisted. “I think you’d fit right in.”
“Yeah?”
Lucy felt her stomach flip. The look in those beautiful brown eyes was so soft it made her melt. This was why she had been avoiding him. All it took was one innocent look and she was a goner. How did people handle this?
“Yeah,” she said, glancing away. “I mean, unless you’re still worried about your reputation.”
He snorted, wrapping his arm around her shoulders as he pushed them both forward.
“How about this, after you’ve made your spectacular Broadway debut and if I’m not busy performing at The Garden, drop me a line. I’d be happy to do a reading.”
She nodded along.  “You’ll be my first call.”
They continued on like that for a little while, speaking of dreams as if they would someday be reality.  Lucy hoped they would and that maybe, someday, she’d be able to tell Eddie exactly how he fit into hers.

piece of a Penumbra Podcast fic!
opposite of a meet-cute (meet-heist?), aka Buddy & Vespa's origin story
just the first two scenes, written while procrastinating on studying
*
“Don’t pout, darling. It’s unbecoming.”
“You—“ Vespa’s so mad she can barely get the words out. Her whole face is likely red by now, and she can feel the handle of her dagger against her hip, her pulse racing frantically beneath it. “You stole from me, you – you big—“ She stutters on her words, trailing off.
“Big what, dear? Hurry up now, we haven’t got all day.”
Across the dirty bar table, Buddy Aurinko taps her fingers against whiskey-stained wood. Her nails are perfectly manicured, and if Vespa glances up, she’ll be sure to see Buddy’s dark-red-rouged-lips quirked upward in amusement.
The woman is dangerously perfect. She reminds Vespa of that Saturnite movie star (what was her name? Heplin? Auburn?) who’d starred in the first and last romantic comedy she’d ever watched, back on Ranga five years ago. The actress had been in her heyday at the time, with wide doe-eyes and curling hair, but Vespa hasn’t really kept up with her career since. There are no movie theaters in Outer Rim prisons, after all.
Besides, it’s not like Vespa has any time for movies these days. Or dangerously perfect women.
“You know, I really thought you’d be able to use that mouth of yours more creatively.” Buddy leans forward, her wavy red hair falling into her left eye. “You certainly weren’t holding back last night.”
Her single visible eye glimmers in the light. The bar they’re sitting in has dirty lightbulbs hanging from the ceiling, a cheap attempt at decor, but when Buddy Aurinko leans forward, the glow catches on the curves of her face, and makes her red hair look like flames.
“That’s–” Vespa feels her face heat up. Goddamnit. This situation really isn’t doing any favors for Vespa’s cardiovascular health. She gives her thigh a hefty snap-out-of-it pinch under the table. “Stop trying to distract me, you thief!”
“Thief? That’s a rather mighty accusation.” Buddy leans back, and the effect disappears; the dim bar lighting throws half her face into shadows. The other half pulls into a smirk. “This wouldn’t be a continuation of yesterday’s roleplay, would it? Handcuffs aren’t usually my cup of tea, but I’m willing to make an exception if–”
“My score!” Vespa shouts too octaves too high. “You took my score after we had sex last night!”
Around them, the few tables peter off into a shocked silence. The smile slips off Buddy’s face.
This whole thing has been a huge mistake. Last night, Vespa had been sitting at her usual dingy underground bar after work, sipping her usual disgusting beer from a red-rusted metal cup. (Everything tastes a little like rust on Mars. Even after a month, Vespa’s still not used to it.)
Then a shadow had appeared to her right, and years of training had her fingers darting to the butcher’s knife hidden at her belt – until she’d turned, and almost spit her beer onto the most striking red hair she’d encountered. Buddy Aurinko’s hair, tied into an updo, had looked like fire. Even after months on this rusted-over desert of a planet, the view was welcome.
Strangely familiar, too, although the nagging deja-vu was quickly shunted to the back of her mind.
“Are – are you looking for something?” she’d stuttered at the woman, face flaming.
“Isn’t everyone?” Buddy had drawled, leaning in as her fingers danced little patterns on Vespa’s chair. “What are you looking for, gorgeous?”
One thing had led to another. All of it a huge mistake. Vespa’s fatal flaw, apparently, is beautiful and mysterious women. She’d rolled awake the next morning to an empty bed and piano score missing from the floor beside her mattress, a face-down business card in its place. Same time, same place? it had read.
She’d flipped the card. Aurinko Correctional Facilities, and the memories had come pouring back: the alarms going off, the click of her cell door unlocking, the fan of red hair she’d followed to a tenth floor fire escape, and then finally to the outside world.
She’d placed, with sudden dread, exactly where she’d met Buddy Aurinko the first time.
The prison warden’s daughter. The one who’d pulled the Aurinko Correctional Facility alarms and masterminded the prison break of a lifetime. The unlikely source of her freedom -- who had somehow, strangely, tracked her all the way to this Martian dumpster.
“Give it back,” Vespa growls. Well–-tries to growl, and hopes her voice doesn’t sound too much like a petulant whine.
“Careful, Ms. Ilkay.” Immediately, Buddy’s face is more guarded. “An underground bar in the Cerberus Province isn’t a good place to draw attention. This place is crawling with thieves and criminal runaways.” Her eyes are still shining as they skim the bar’s crowd. She’s elegant as ever, but Vespa spots the miniscule tensing of her shoulders. Vespa hasn’t spent years as an assassin, in the old life she’d left behind, without being able to catch every one of her opponents’ tells.
“Guess we fit right in, then,” Vespa grumbles, slumping lower in her seat.
“Depends how you read things. I’m the warden’s daughter, and I let you walk. So you’re not really a runaway, are you? And I don’t typically charge for my services, but.” She clicks her pristine nails against the tabletop again. “I’ll consider that score your gift of gratitude. I’m quite a fan of piano compositions.”
“Giving me my freedom is not a service. I don’t owe you my music.”
“Oh, not for that!” Buddy clicks her tongue. “I’m no Board of Fresh Starts body trader. Lives aren’t for sale.” Her fingers inch forward again, tapping a rhythm on the table by Vespa’s elbow.  “No, the score is an advance payment for what I’m about to give you.”
“And what exactly would I want from a solar planet brat?”
“A job,” Buddy says.
Vespa blinks at her. “What.”
“A job. You’re a good medic, from what I’ve seen over the past few months. You’re smart—enough to see past all my father’s tricks at the Aurinko Correctional Facility. Plus you’re a specialized assassin from Ranga, which means you know how to fight. Even if I haven’t seen you in action.” In the strange lighting, Buddy’s lips twist into something that could be mistaken for disappointment. “You’re bored at your current job, aren’t you? I’d be bored if I were a trained assassin who had to sit around nursing people’s hangovers all day.”
“...You’ve been following me?”
“Of course! What type of crime boss would I be if I didn’t scout my talent?”
“You.” Vespa scoffs. “A crime boss.”
“I’m recruiting you to be my partner in crime, darling, not a parrot.”
“Look.” Vespa sighs. “I don’t know what joke you’re trying to pull, but the Cerberus Province isn’t a place for somebody like you.” She looks pointedly at Buddy Aurinko’s manicured nails, and her silk dress that screams Venus craftsmanship. “It’s dangerous to stay out here too long, and not just because there aren’t any radiation shields.” She swallows, looking away from the woman in front of her, who’s likely spent her life in shimmering places vastly different from the Martian desert outskirts. “Go home, okay? That’s the best advice I can give you.”
It’s the wrong thing to say. Immediately, Buddy’s eyes darken. She lifts up the hem of her silk dress, revealing a black strap along her thigh, and a string of knives and handguns. That’s hot, Vespa thinks, then immediately squashes down the thought like it’s a wayward beetle. “Well. It’s a good thing I take advice about as well as a cat takes to water. I don’t appreciate condescension, Vespa.” She lets the dress drop, morphing back into a wealthy socialite. “Seeing as I enjoyed last night, though, I’ll forgive you this once.” Rising from the table, she throws another business card down on the table. “We’ll continue this conversation in two days. Someplace less crowded.”
“I haven’t agreed to anything,” Vespa says, when she finds her voice again.
“Not yet. You’ll find that I can be very persuasive, darling.” Buddy winks, then turns, the dress swishing and sparkling and turning heads behind her. It takes another two minutes after her disappearance for Vespa to shake herself from stupor and down the rest of her lukewarm beer.
Another five to realize that she’d forgotten to demand her piano score: the entire reason she’d dragged herself here for a dangerous second dose of Buddy Aurinko.
*
Life in the Cerberus Province is… well. It’s life, which means most days are no better than a pile of Martian rabbit shit.
Vespa works at one of the government-underfunded pop-up clinics at the edge of town. It’s as terrible as it sounds; she spends her time bandaging up the bar-fight wounds of drunk thieves in their sixties, and doing her best to avoid their whiskey breath while she works. Sometimes, the screams of runaways from the Board of Fresh Starts will pierce the air – moments before they come barreling past security and into the clinic, their filtration bracelets flashing red, bodies already half-melted by radiation.
She isn’t allowed to touch the Board runaways. Government policy.
At night, she returns to a small two-room apartment, where her mattress sits in the opposite corner from the kitchen stove, and a door on the left wall opens to a tiny bathroom. It’s small, the heating scarce, and there’s a bar downstairs whose noise spills through the walls at night. The rent is atrocious. But it’s still a room in a concrete building, far enough underground to avoid the worst of the solar radiation.
Living like this, she’ll last another five years. Probably.
Sighing, Vespa toes off her shoes at the apartment entryway. Red dust puffs into her face. She coughs it out. “Stupid desert,” she mutters under her breath.
The eggs, she discovers when she pulls them from the fridge and tries to crack them into a frying pan, a half-hearted attempt at dinner, have started to fry in their shells. A white lump flops into the vegetable oil. “Stupid radiation,” Vespa mutters. She pulls a dagger from the scabbard at her hip, stabbing at the mess until it bursts.
As she cooks, she can feel the edges of the card Buddy had left on the bar top digging into the front of her thigh through the fabric of her pocket. It feels heavier than paper ought to be, but Vespa thinks maybe that’s just because she still can’t get those stupid shimmery eyes and flaming red hair out of her head.
Aurinko Correctional Facilities, the business card reads in a sleek sans serif typeface—but Buddy has scratched out the printed text with blue ink, and written in the margins, in a loopy cursive messier than Vespa would have expected: welcome to the Aurinko crime family. There’s an address underneath, and then a time. Tomorrow, 8pm.
When she’d first read it, Vespa had noted the strange way Buddy Aurinko wrote the ‘f’ of family—the end of the letter curling leftward in a little scroll-like spiral.
It’s a stupid thing to notice.
Ten minutes later, Vespa is seated on the floor beside her mattress, spearing pieces of scrambled egg with her dagger. “Stupid eggs,” she mutters when a piece flops onto her shit-green army pants. She daggers it and pops it in her mouth anyway. It tastes  metallic, which should trouble Vespa more than it does.
Radiation sickness is inevitable in the Cerberus Province. Vespa knew this, but her stubborn ass had still jumped onto the first ship to Mars after the mass breakout from Aurinko Correctional Facilities — courtesy of Buddy Aurinko, self-proclaimed rebel and daughter of the warden. After ten years in that psychological hellhole, she’d been desperate to get as far away from the Outer Rim as possible.
Part of her wonders what she’s even trying to do here. It’s not like she’s accomplishing much with her freedom: Just work and household chores and more work, in a dry and endless cycle. Averting her eyes from radiation burns and blood filtration bracelets when she’s at the clinic. Turning into a lovely solar radiation slow-roast when she’s at home. She didn’t grow up with any far-fetched romantic aspirations for her own life, but still … her ten-year-old self would probably scoff at the life she’s leading now.
If only her father could see her.
As soon as the thought crosses her mind, nausea grips her stomach. She puts her plate down, taking deep breaths until it subsides.
It’s been over a decade since she’s last seen him. She hasn’t once gone back to the wooden shed they’d shared, at the edge of Ranga’s second largest swamp – although the shadows of that first home seem to dog her heels wherever she goes. You don’t grow up in the Rangian swamps without expecting to start survival training at age six and be dead by thirty-five.
Now that she’s out of that place, with more time on her hands than she’d ever thought she could have, she can still feel the ghosts of Ranga all around her, like a grip she doesn’t know how to break. Whispering – often in her father’s voice – that even if she were to make it to the bustling center of the solar system, she’d feel no happier, no less alone, than she does right now.
At least here, everybody calls her by her name. Nobody looks at her twice when she steps into the women’s restrooms, and nobody even bats their third eye at her green hair or tattoos. She’s spent her whole life yearning for this type of anonymity. Now that she has it… well, she’ll take what she’s given without complaint.
A cockroach hops two inches from her foot. Nose wrinkling, she squashes it with the blunt handle of her dagger. Gross. Well, maybe a little complaint.
When she’s done with the eggs, she rises, scrubbing off her dishes in the rust-caked sink before setting them by the stove to dry. Then–only because the edge of the card is cutting into her thigh, irritating her to no end–she digs it out of her pocket, and flips it over again to the side with Buddy’s messy scrawl ruining the typeface.
welcome to the Aurinko crime family, it still reads. The ‘f’ of family is still as ridiculously frilly as Vespa remembers. And…Vespa isn’t stupid enough to trust a rich solar heiress like Buddy Aurinko. She traces the letter with her calloused left thumb, though, and thinks about that pesky leak in her bathroom roof, and the Martian dust she can’t seem to keep off her floors and furniture, and the way all her work days have seemed to blend together into an endlessly bleak stretch of time as of late.
She’s got no idea what Buddy is really after. But whatever it is – it can’t be any worse than what Vespa’s already been through. Can it?

I’m handsome, tall, and rich
Chapter 14
“I think this one’s better.” Hinata nodded at the screen.
“Yeah.”
“Good.” Hinata straightened her back.” We can take a break before we move on to the next one.”
She couldn’t help but overheard that one of the staff members excuse herself from other colleges to go to the bathroom. Just the thought of going to the bathroom at work made her blood run cold. She looked at her still-full thermos and sighed. She shouldn’t be drinking too much water.
“Hey, sis!” Hinata heard Hanabi and turned around.” I brought you some co-”
They were both wearing the Medusa Biggie crop top. While Hinata had paired it up with a blazer and high-waisted pants – Sasuke was rubbing off on her – Hanabi wore a short skirt and a cropped cardigan.” No way.”
The day before something similar happened. For once, Hanabi had arrived on time. She walked in as Hinata was talking with a producer. Her older sister turned around and they both froze for a second. They were both wearing the same turtleneck midi dress.
The same happened the day before that one, with a pink wool blend mini dress.
“Why’re you copying my style?”
“We’re both buying from designer brands, if anything we lack style.” Hinata put her planner down.” If anything, you’d be copying my style.”
“You wish. I bought the last one. I heard it loud and clear.”
“Well, the sales lady told me there were two left when I bought this, so I bought it before you.”
A staff member coughed to disguise her laughter.
Kakashi and Sasuke walked through the movie theater. Kakashi peeked at Sasuke from the corner of his eye from time to time. Sasuke was wearing more formal clothes instead of what Kakashi was used to seeing him wearing.
“So… what kind of project is this?”
“Right now I don’t have a detailed plan.” Kakashi guided Sasuke to an auditorium.” I just figured out you’d help me put things into perspective.”
“We should first discuss the specifics-”
“ I didn’t invite you here to talk about that.” Kakashi interrupted him.” The movie’s protagonist is a food researcher. I want to distribute our products in the US and this will help us see what they do over there.”
“So you think that since I can’t go there myself, I should observe how they do things by watching a movie?” Sasuke said after a pause.
“Yes.”
“Okay, I guess. If you think it’ll work, might as well.”
Sasuke sat in a huge recliner seat in the middle of the auditorium. He had never been the type to go to the movies, it was only when Hinata dragged him to watch one did he go to the cinema. Even then, it was never as empty as this one.
“Choose what you want to eat.” Kakashi handed Sasuke a menu. He watched as Sasuke went through it. Had Sasuke’s eyelashes always been that long? Had his lips always been that pink?
“It all looks good,” Sasuke muttered to himself.
“Then we’ll order all of it.” Kakashi took the menu from Sasuke’s hand. Sasuke rolled his eyes and look around.” What’s wrong?”
“It’s weird that there isn’t anyone around.”
“I rented the auditorium.”
“What?”
“I hate crowded places.”
Sasuke accepted his excuse without questions. He saw Sasuke look around and try to pull on the handle of the chair.
“Do you need help?”
“No. It’s fine.”
Kakashi got the chair to recline. It ended up with him on top of Sasuke, their faces centimeters apart. Sasuke’s big, dark eyes looked up at him, the realization of how close they were was evident in them. Kakashi could lean in and kiss him. He wanted to.
“Excuse me. I need to go to the bathroom.” Sasuke managed to get out from under Kakashi.
“I’m getting nervous over nothing.” Sasuke sighed as he reapplied lip balm.” It’s been too long since I dated.” He tried to remember the last time he went on a date but couldn’t.” Way too long.”
He walked out of the bathroom a little more calmly than before. He was walking back to the auditorium when someone called out to him. He turned around to see Karin and Suigetsu sitting on a couch.
“What’re you guys doing here?”
“We’re here to watch a movie. Same as you.” Suigetsu said, arm around Sasuke.
“Suigetsu would not shut up about having a premium ticket. I’m only here with him because the poor thing doesn’t have any friends.”
“Hey!”
“Anyway, you by your lonesome?”
“Yeah. I don’t have a boyfriend to take me on movie dates.” Sasuke checked his phone.” Shit. My movie starts any minute now. I’ll see you both tomorrow.”
Sasuke rushed back to the auditorium Kakashi had reserved, hoping Suigetsu and Karin weren’t following him. They were.
“I think I saw him go this way,” Suigetsu said.
“That’s too expensive for him.”
“I’m sure he went that way.” Suigetsu walked toward where he thought Sasuke went, Karin not far behind him.
“President Hatake, we have a problem.” Sasuke rushed to his seat.
“What happened?” Kakashi grabbed popcorn and plopped it into his mouth.
“We have to be careful when we leave. I ran into-”
“Sasuke, you there?”
“Fuck.” Sasuke placed himself so that he was hiding Kakashi.” What do you want, Suigetsu?”
He slapped Kakashi in the face, trying to get him to hide. Kakashi must have understood because he got out of his seat and crawled to the side opposite to the stairs the newcomers would use.
“What’re you doing here?” Karin asked as she walked down the stairs toward Sasuke.
Sasuke turned around to try and spot Kakashi. He was hiding a couple of seats behind them to the left.
“This place looks great.”
“I know right.”
“I thought you were here alone,” Karin looked at the two boxes of popcorn.” Are you waiting for someone?”
“ I just booked two seats for myself and ordered a bunch of food.”
“There’s no need to flex, Sas.”
“I’m not. I just wanted to destress.” Sasuke turned to look at Kakashi to see him trying to make signals at Sasuke. He couldn’t be bothered trying to decipher what he was saying, instead he chose to just try and get his friends out of the auditorium.” Anyway, the movie should begin any moment now, so you should get going.”
“There’s way too much food for one person.” Suigetsu spoke with his mouth full of popcorn.” We three should watch the movie. It’ll be like that song, happy the three of us.”
“I’m pretty sure it’s happy the four of us,” Karin said.
“Well, Juugo isn’t here.”
“Look, it’s starting.”
“No. It isn’t.” Sasuke stood corrected. The lights started to dim.
Suigetsu pulled Sasuke into a seat as Kakashi crawled out of the auditorium. The moment he crawled out the door, a staff member spotted him. They looked at each other for a second. Kakashi quickly got up.
” Good evening. Thank you for your hard work.”
I’ve been working all day and haven’t been able to use the bathroom. Shouldn’t have let Hanabi treat me to that many iced coffees. Hinata thought as she waited for her bus to arrive.
Unbeknownst to her, a certain blond was driving by and spotted her. He rolled down the window.” Do you need a ride?”
“Thank you for catching the molka guy. I didn’t get to thank you before.”
“It’s fine. Anyone would’ve done the same.”
Naruto had a pop son softly in the background as he drove to their apartment complex. The traffic was terrible at that time of the day, but it didn’t seem to affect him. He saw Hinata fidget and squirm in the passenger seat.” You okay?”
“Of course I am.”
Kakashi was seating in an armchair away from view, waiting for Sasuke to walk out of the auditorium. He spotted Sasuke, his coworkers not far behind him.
“They said the movie would make you yearn for love. That was such bullshit.” He heard Team Leader Uzumaki say. Kakashi didn’t think she was the type to curse, seems he had been wrong.
“That’s because you’re heartless, Karin.” The white-haired one had his arm around Sasuke like he always seem to.
“Nah. She’s right. If anything it made it look like love is way too complicated and not worth it.”
“So you’d rather get a sugar daddy?” The clingy man teased.
“With how much those seats plus the food probably cost, he’ll need one.”
Kakashi unlocked his phone. It didn’t seem like they’d leave Sasuke alone anytime soon.
Sasuke excused himself to answer his call.”Yes, President Hatake?”
“Is the movie over?”
“Yeah, but Karin wanted to go grab a drink so we’re heading there now. Did you already get home?”
“ Of course. With how busy I am, I don’t have time to wait for you.”
“Sasuke, are you coming or what?” Suigetsu peaked at him from a corner.
“I’ll let you know once I submit the report. Goodnight.” Sasuke hung up and walked towards the exit.
“Traffic’s terrible tonight.” Naruto turned to look at Hinata to tell her a joke to see her pulling on the neck of her crop top.” Do you feel hot?”
“Just a bit. Do you mind if I open the window for a second?”
“Sure.” Naruto watched Hinata roll down the window and sighed.
“Could you turn up the volume?” Hinata asked him.
“Sure.” Naruto turned up the volume just as the song changed. An R&B song with a dripping sound effect in the back started playing.
“Do you mind if I get out?” Hinata unbuckled her belt.
“In the middle of the road?”
“Yeah.”
“You okay?”
“If I stay here, I might have an accident in your car.”
“Huh?”
“I’ll see you around.” Hinata got out of the car as Naruto called out to her.
Hinata walked into a shopping mall. She hobbled towards where a couple of signs pointed the toilet was.
She tried opening the door only to find it locked. What have I done to deserve this? Hinata thought. Tears were swelling in her eyes as she sat on the ground with her back to the bathroom.
Not two minutes later, Naruto rushed to her only to immediately turn around once he saw that she was waiting for the bathroom.
“Why’d you follow me all the way here?”
“I was worried!” Naruto said with his back to Hinata.” Shouldn’t you be inside anyway?”
“The door’s locked!” Hinata sounded like she was just holding back tears.
“Hold on.” Hinata moved to the side so that Naruto could try and open the door. He slammed his shoulder against the door until it opened. Hinata rushed past him into the bathroom.
“You can go ahead,” Hinata said from inside the bathroom.
“Why is it so hard to go on a date?” Kakashi ran a hand through his hair.
It was late and he should be working or preparing for bed. Instead, he was sitting at his desk, thinking of what excuse he could make to see Sasuke again. Suddenly a lightbulb went up in his brain, he could see what Sasuke posted on social media and, based on that, decide what to do.
Kakashi went through all the usernames that had “Sasuke” on them. He was in a meeting when he found his Sasuke’s account. His profile picture was of his silhouette with purple backlight.
He scrolled down through his posts. Kakashi only stopped at a post of a young Sasuke and who appeared to be his brother. In the caption, he wished his brother a happy birthday. He was a cute kid, Kakashi thought. He continued scrolling, taking note of what places Sasuke liked to eat at and where he liked to hang out. Most pictures were of places or food, and very few were of Sasuke or his friends.
Kakashi called Sasuke the moment he was out of the meeting room. “Hello? Uchiha-ssi, we’re going on a business trip. Pack everything you might need.”
He hung up without bothering to hear Sasuke’s response.
“Our grand ballroom,” A man showed them around.
“Looks incredible,” Sakumo said.
“Chairman Hatake, we’re deeply honored that you came to visit us.” The man said.
“The honor is mine,” Sakumo laughed.
The man then excused himself to attend to other guests.
“There’s nothing else planned for today, right?”
“No, sir,” Naruto responded.
“Great. It’s been a while since I was in Sokcho we should go fishing.”
“You two can go fishing. I already have plans.”
Sakumo looked like he was about to protest before stopping for just a second.” Alright. I’ll see you back at home. You can even come tomorrow.”
“Tomorrow?”
“Yes, tomorrow.”
“Okay.”
The moment Kakashi was out of earshot, Sakumo whispered to Naruto.” Hey. Hey. Come over here.”
Naruto took a step closer to the chairman.
“Kakashi’s ‘other plans’ are going on a date with Sarutobi-ssi, right?”
“Sir?”
“Tell him to do it more often. Better yet, tell him to come home with invitations to their engagement party one of these days.”
Sakumo walked away, leaving Naruto behind. He was once again regretting his life choices.
Sasuke walked out of the station with only a small duffle bag. His phone vibrated with messages from the group chat Anko had created for the trip with Genma. She had added both Hinata and him even though they weren’t going because she wanted to keep them updated but both he and Hinata knew that she just wanted to annoy them. He muted the chat, with a sigh.
His phone vibrated once more. A call from Kakashi.” Hello, President Hatake. I’m just outside. Where are you?”
” I can see you.
Sasuke frowned at his and tried to find the man. He turned around to see him leaning against a blue car. The sun lit him up in a way that made him look more handsome than usual. The moment the thought registered made Sasuke want to slap himself. He should really get himself back into the market, at the rate this was going he might fall for his boss.
“Why’d you ask me to come to Sokcho?” Sasuke asked once he was in front of Kakashi.” Is it about the product? Did you have a breakthrough?”
“Sokcho has delicious food so I figured I’d get an idea once I’ve tasted some of it.”
“Luckily, I did some research on Sokcho’s famous restaurants.” Sasuke pulled out his phone only to have Kakashi take it from him.
“Let’s go to the one I found first.”
“Fine.”
“Just get in and give me your bag.” Kakashi grabbed Sasuke’s duffle bag and put it in the trunk. As he did that, Sasuke sat himself in the driver’s seat.
Kakashi opened the door to the front door only to find Sasuke there.” What are you doing?”
“I can drive for us.”
“I can drive.”
“I can’t let the person I work for drive for me.”
It never bothered you before, Kakashi thought as he closed the door. He walked to the other side and got in.
“Where to?” Sasuke asked as he checked the rearview mirror.
Kakashi didn’t answer him. Instead, he typed the place into the GPS. He noted the look in Sasuke’s eyes as he recognized the name.
“I’ve heard that place is good. I’ve been meaning to go for ages.”
“Have you? Then you should ride along the coast and just enjoy this opportunity.”
“We don’t have time for that. Buckle up.”
“Huh?”
“Let’s go.”
Sasuke got out of the car only to see the staff close the restaurant. Kakashi got out not that far behind him. The man quickly realized Sasuke was a shitty driver. He drove like he was in a Grand Prix.
“We can just come back for dinner.”
“We can’t. I planned everything from our snack to our late-night snack.”
“Are we only going to eat?”
“Yeah. We have to come up with a new product.”
“I guess you’re right.”
“Lucky for us I made reservations at the grilled fish restaurant.” Sasuke pursed his lips.” It’s a bit far away from here, though. Let me check the map.”
As Sasuke busied himself with his phone, Kakashi’s vibrated. He excuses himself – not that Sasuke was paying any attention to him – and answers his phone.” What’s the news?”
“ I’m waiting for you at the beach, sir.”
“We’ll head there right now.” Kakashi hung up and turned to Sasuke.
“The restaurant is 40 minutes away. Is that okay?”
“No. Let’s just eat something simple nearby.”
“I don’t think there’s anything out here.”
“Maybe there’s something near the beach.” Before Sasuke could object, Kakashi took off toward the beach.
“I don’t think there are any restaurants near this side.”
“I wanted to see the ocean too. I’ve been so busy I hadn’t had the chance to see it.”
“Right.” Sasuke looked around and quickly spotted a food truck.” Hey, look!”
Kakashi watched as Sasuke’s eyes widened.” Wow. That truck only shows up in Sokcho and Yangyang whenever the owner wants to.”
“Huh, really? Must be our lucky day.”
Sasuke rushed towards the truck, Kakashi not far behind him.” Good day, sir. Why’d you come all the way here to sell your burgers? Surely there’d be more people elsewhere.”
“Well, ”The man was about to answer but Kakashi shook his head.” I had a feeling that a cute couple might be hanging around here.”
” We’re not a couple, sir.”
“What’s the best item you have?” Kakashi interrupted the conversation.
“It’s hard to choose. Take a look at the menu and tell me if you like anything.”
“It all looks good,” Sasuke muttered as he looked through the menu. It took Sasuke a couple of minutes but he ended up choosing a special burger. He excused himself to film the waves.
“Here’s your food, sir.” Kakashi grabbed their lunch as he thanked the man.” I thought it was a prank call at first. I mean, who’d give a day’s worth of profits in exchange of two burgers?”
Both men looked at Sasuke. He had his eyes closed, enjoying the breeze.” I wanted it to be a special day.”
“He’d be extremely touched if you told him what you did.”
“It’d lose the charm.”
“Is our food ready?” Sasuke walked over to them.” Thank you for the food, sir.”
“It’s nothing. I hope you two have a delightful day.”
Kakashi guided Sasuke to a couple of chairs facing the beach. Next to each chair was a small table.
Kakashi watched Sasuke happily munch on his food.” Is it good?”
“It’s great. I’ve never eaten something better.”
“I didn’t know you liked hamburgers so much.”
“ I didn’t get to eat them often when I was a kid. My brother took care of me most of the time when we were young. He made sure I only ate balanced meals and stuff.” Sasuke sighed, almost lost in a memory.” Sorry. Spoke too much about myself.”
“It’s fine. I’m quite interested in you.”
“Excuse me?”
“As the president, I should know about my employees.”
“Right.”
” You’re a graduate of Food and Culinary Arts, right?” It didn’t seem like Sasuke believed him so he decided to change the topic.” Did you always want to be a researcher?”
“I didn’t really have a dream as a kid. I knew I liked food so I decided to major in Culinary. Then, once in college, I discovered this job called ‘Food Product Researcher.’”
“That’s it?”
“That’s it.”
“Well, what about now? Any dreams or goals?” Sasuke looked at how the waves crashed against the sand, but Kakashi couldn’t keep his eyes off him.
Sasuke hummed before muttering,” Yeah, I guess.”
“What is it?”
“It’s embarrassing.” Sasuke bit the inside of his cheek.
“I’m asking you as your boss, so answer as my employee.”
“What is this? A job interview.” Sasuke peeked at Kakashi from under his eyelashes before sighing.” Fine, whatever.” Sasuke quietened down before speaking.” Once my brother got to high school, both he and my parents were busy all the time, so I used to buy frozen food since they didn’t always have time to meal prep. I know not everyone can afford to cook or eat out every day, so I want to help making tastier and healthier frozen food.”
“If I’m being 100% honest,” Sasuke turned to properly look at him. There was a small smile on his lips. ” When you told me you were developing kimchi products for the overseas market, I was really impressed.”
“Really? Are you saying you thought I didn’t do any work?”
“Not really. I just thought you did mostly strategizing and boring things, honestly.” There was a comfortable silence before Kakashi stood up and kneeled next to Sasuke.
“What’re you-”
“Your shoelace’s untied.” Kakashi tied Sasuke’s shoes.” Whether you’re Sarutobi or Uchiha Sasuke, you’re just the same.”
Kakashi looked at Sasuke while he was still kneeling by him. His and Sasuke’s eyes met and time seemed to freeze.

she looked at the girl that was looking back at her with hazel eyes that held their shared moments and all the love she gives. the dark-eyes that held a whirlwind of emotions broke the silence. hazel-eyed girl did not listen because her mind took a painful walk down memory lane.
in an empty room with hundreds of worn out books aligned on a dusty shelf, hazel met dark through the holes of an empty bookshelf. the eye contact that felt like forever lasted only a few seconds before the dark eyes looked away uninterested. hazel was in a trance by the light that her dark eyes reflected in that moment. hazel walked around to the other side of the shelf in hopes of getting more than just eye contact and maybe the dark-eyed girl hoped for that too because it came true. the two girls fell on the ground together. dark-eyes looked down into hazel-eyes with a slight interest, or at least that’s what hazel thinks because of the smirk on dark’s face. the feeling of flames ignited on hazel’s freckled cheeks and dark was only fueling the fire.
“do you need me to go get a fire extinguisher for that pretty face of yours, miss?”
“—can’t do this” dark only saw her mouth moving because she was hardly listening.
“here i’ll open your door for you,” dark eyes quickly got out of the car, “because obviously i’m the dyke here.”
“thank you, kind sir” hazel giggled into her black, silky, long-sleeved flannel, “what a gentleman.”
hazel got close as she could to dark as they walked into the theaters to watch a movie. to her, it felt almost right to stand by the slightly shorter girl’s side, but that secret will be kept to herself for a very long time.
the two girls walked out of the theatre hand-in-hand, one of them was leaning into the other for emotional support. hazel looked at dark eyes with curiosity.
she wanted to know what made her cry, because the movie that they saw together didn’t. she wanted to bring joy into her everyday life and make everyday an adventure. it was awful that she already wanted to do so much with a girl she’s known for a couple of weeks, but she went along with her feelings.
dark-eyes looked at hazel with adoration and gave her a kiss on the cheek before getting back into her car to go home.
“——please understand that” hazel eyes continued to yell at the girl with dark eyes.
“plea— stop ticking me!“ the hazel-eyed girl’s eyes were closed as she was struggling to keep her breath steady and shout at the same time. dark-eyes mischievously smirked down at the other girl and that smirk turned into a small smile when she remembered their first encounter.
dark-eyed girl’s eyes got darker when she decided she wanted to mess with hazel and make a mess out of her. she slowly dragged the tip of her pointer finger up the other’s thigh while maintaining intense eye-contact. if you had to use one word to describe the look on hazel’s face- it would be red.
dark-eyes laughed and retreated her hand back to its previous position. the two laid next to one another and talked about their favorite things together for what felt like an eternity.
“it was always my dream to someday travel around the world, take pictures in every location and create beautiful moments.” hazel eyes turned her head to look at the side of dark eyes face after she had said that.
she seemed to be a bit frustrated, eyebrows furrowed and a frown on her pale face. “do you want me to travel with you?”
it was hazel eyes’s turn to frown. “no—“ she sighed, “no that wasn’t what i was implying. it’s just my dream and i’d prefer following it on my own.” she really meant the opposite of her said words but she didn’t want to overwhelm dark-eyes in the slightest bit.
“you and i,” hazel eyes’ voice was trembling with hurt and rage, “wait— there never was a you and i.”
her midnight black bangs swayed with the sudden breeze and once again fell back onto her forehead. the moon’s beams bounced off of her wet hair and gave her and hazel eyes light. her dark eyes absorbed the white rays, you probably couldn’t tell the difference between her eyes and a solar eclipse. the bridge of her nose scrunched up when hazel eyes threw water into her face and she laughed. if her laugh was a happy song, hazel would listen to it on repeat. her smile put the moon and stars combined to shame. the freckles on her cheeks reminded her of the craters that reside on the moon, beautiful markings that make her even more insanely beautiful. her small frame was striking and the curves that shape her body were mesmerizing. the craters that were on her cheeks go all the way down to her stomach. hazel wanted nothing more in that moment than to kiss dark eyes as if they were one other’s oxygen supply.
“so you meant to tell me that you never liked me,” hazel was hardly keeping herself from falling. “that you just wanted someone to mess around with, someone’s heart to break apart, shard after shard, until they’re nothing but shattered glass in the palm of your fucking hand?”

[VICE VERSA episode 5 parts 3&4]
“You must only be happy, Talay” UGHUGHUGH
“Only for five minutes” LIAR, YOU WANT HIM TO BE HAPPY ALWAYS
I’d complain about Talay rejecting the hug but again, I think he’s doing it to protect himself
Talay: “I’m cold” Puen: “cool, here’s a drink made of snow”
WAIT IT ONLY TOOK TWO WEEKS TO SHOOT /AND/ MARKET THE FILM?? WHAT THE FUCK???
That poor fucking guy who came back only to lose everything dear to him
Talay’s like “oh god that’s right I swapped with the worst possible person”
“Pakorn might destroy your acting career” Puen: *shrug*
I’m actually surprised Puen didn’t quit being an actor at the end since he didn’t seem particularly attached to the job–plus as his husband Talay wouldn’t get any damn privacy
STOP T-POSING WHILE THE BIKE IS GOING!!!!
That dark suit looks soooo good on Jimmy, holy shit
“She’s my type” Don’t say that in front of your bf Up wtf
Puen is nervous, CUTE
Talay comforting him, CUTE!!!
I’m glad the camera focused on Up and Aou in the theater too since, y’know, it’s /their/ movie and /their/ dream too
I can’t help but go “pfft” and their deflated reaction to the meh reviews because while I understand you want your movie to succeed, they’re first-time screenwriters, just be glad your movie didn’t bomb and learn from your mistakes
Also the movie’s been out for like ten seconds, give it a while
Also Aou is right, what matters is that your art connects to even one person and I’m sure the worst movies out there do
Love that the mall is literally just called “The Mall” adklfdlk
I was alone in a theater for a movie once and it was heavennnnn (it was Jojo Rabbit which did NOT deserve an empty theater)
T&P pick themselves up only for U&A to go “we quit actually”
I don’t really have anything to say about the last five minutes akdfjksdl I’ll leave that to you <3
“You must only be happy, Talay” UGHUGHUGH <<<<< WHEN I TELL YOU IT’S BEEN MONTHS AND THIS LINE STILL HAUNTS ME IN MY SLEEP LIKE I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHAT IS IT ABOUT IT THAT MAKES ME CRAZY BUT IT DOES!!!!!!!! HE WANTS TALAY TO ONLY BE HAPPY!!!!!!!! AND NOT HAVE ANY DISLIKES!!!!!!!!!!! IT’S SO STUPIDLY ROMANTIC TO ME IM THROWING MY WHOLE ASS SELF OUT OF THE WINDOW
I’d complain about Talay rejecting the hug but again, I think he’s doing it to protect himself <<<<< yeah at this point talay is still very unsure about puen’s intentions, so he keeps taking a step back. it’s also why episode 7 is gonna be very important and the fact that people completely overlook it just because it has a lot of product placements it’s gonna be my villain origin story
Talay: “I’m cold” Puen: “cool, here’s a drink made of snow” <<<<< THE WAY PUEN DID THAT JUST TO HAVE THE EXCUSE TO HUG TALAY AGAIN HE’S SUCH A MISCHIEVOUS LITTLE GREMLIN
WAIT IT ONLY TOOK TWO WEEKS TO SHOOT /AND/ MARKET THE FILM?? WHAT THE FUCK??? <<<<< LITERALLY THE BIGGEST MYSTERY IN THE SHOW it throws me off every single time too. i guess maybe it was a short film??? or time also moves differently in the alternate universe????
That poor fucking guy who came back only to lose everything dear to him <<<<< don’t mind me im just killing tess with my mind rn
I’m actually surprised Puen didn’t quit being an actor at the end since he didn’t seem particularly attached to the job–plus as his husband Talay wouldn’t get any damn privacy <<<<< i can’t remember if you watched episode 12 as well…… anyway, just to be safe im not going to spoiler you too much, but they do say that after a while puen starts to work behind the camera as a screenwriter way more than as an actor
STOP T-POSING WHILE THE BIKE IS GOING!!!! <<<<< puen has been such a bad influence for talay SAFETY FIRST KIDS NEVER FORGET THAT
That dark suit looks soooo good on Jimmy, holy shit <<<<< I CANNOT AGREE MORE AND THE TURTLENECK WAS SUCH A GOOD CHOICE TOO
“She’s my type” Don’t say that in front of your bf Up wtf <<<<< SFKDSGFKJSDGFDKJ TRYING NOT TO SAY ANYTHING IS KILLING ME
Talay comforting him, CUTE!!! <<<<< TALAY HOLDING PUEN'S HAND AND TELLING HIM THAT WHATEVER HAPPENS THEY'RE GOING TO GET THROUGH IT TOGETHER!!!!! THE CARE THE TENDERNESS THE DEVOTION THE UNDERSTANDING THE COMFORT THE FRIENDSHIP THE LOVE IM FROTHING AT THE MOUTH
I’m glad the camera focused on Up and Aou in the theater too since, y’know, it’s /their/ movie and /their/ dream too <<<<< people can say anything about this show but it would have been so easy for them to just not bother with the secondary characters since they're gonna remain in the alternate universe and not be part of puen and talay's life anymore instead they took the time to give them depth and screentime and i guess you can add this to the endless list of reasons why i love vice versa
I can’t help but go “pfft” and their deflated reaction to the meh reviews because while I understand you want your movie to succeed, they’re first-time screenwriters, just be glad your movie didn’t bomb and learn from your mistakes <<<<< the movie industry (just like the publishing one) is so hard that i also feel like it was kinda naive of them to expect to be successful on their first try, but i do understand how bad it feels to have something you have worked on and put a lot of effort in be so easily disregarded (especially for up and aou who already experienced their script being rejected before)
Love that the mall is literally just called “The Mall” adklfdlk <<<<< I SWEAR ALL THE DETAILS IN THIS SHOW ARE SO GOOD AND FUNNY
I was alone in a theater for a movie once and it was heavennnnn (it was Jojo Rabbit which did NOT deserve an empty theater) <<<<< HOW DID JOJO RABBIT OF ALL MOVIES GOT AN EMPTY THEATER WHAT THE F--
I don’t really have anything to say about the last five minutes akdfjksdl I’ll leave that to you <3 <<<<< ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS THAT IT’S ONLY EPISODE 5 AND YET PUEN IS READY TO MOVE IN WITH TALAY AND MARRY HIM AND SPEND THE REST OF HIS LIFE WITH HIM MY BOY IS SO GONE LIKE LOVE AND LIGHT TO EVERYONE WHO CAN FEEL NORMAL WHILE WATCHING THIS SHOW BUT THEY HAVE ME OPERATING ON A WHOLE DIFFERENT LEVEL OF REALITY I COULD FIGHT GOD RN

Major Season 2 Episode 8 spoilers!! Please do not read if you haven't watched it
Tumblr media
Summary: The night of Lexi's play, After a fight between you and Fezco you hadn't seen or spoke to him in almost two months, unknown to you (because you attended the play) during the raid instead of Ash not doing what Fez says he runs to your place, what can he say you're both of their go to
warnings: Mentions of murder, fluff, you taking care of ashtray
Tumblr media
"You sat in the theater, watching in awe as you watched your best friend finally accomplish she's always wanted, unknown that you wouldn't be able to apologize to your ex boyfriend and try to fix things for another five years.
Faye could hear the drill whirring on the outside of the door, Fez glanced at the door before kissing Ashtray's head "Just go! Go Ash go and I'll fuckin call you when I got shit figured out" Fez mumbled to him wiping his face clean of tears, Custard's dead body sitting on the couch, Ash knew he fucked up this time, it wasn't like mouse, this wasn'y a simple hide the body and forget about it, somebody was going down, and Ash knew he had to be the one who took the fall.
"Ash! Go! We both can't fuckin go down for this! Fuckin go! f-..find Y/n! She'll make sure you're fuckin good!" He whisper yelled so the swat wouldn't hear where one of their suspects were going. Ash stared at his brother, glaring before running out through the back door dodging the police, his lungs burnt with how fast he was running, tears streamed down his face as he heard swat screaming along with his brother. He held back a sob bursting through your basement door, the door you left unlocked incase Fez or Ash needed a place to go while you were gone.
When you arrived home it was late, Rue saying her goodbyes from the sidewalk, Ashtray was hiding, incase swat just tried to come by and search, Your footsteps echoed through the dark empty house, but you could feel it, somebody was here, watching you. "Hello?.." You called before smacking your forehead "This is how basic bitches die in movies, alright who the fuck is in my damn house?!" You yelled hearing your basement door open, turning around quickly you aimmed your knife at the door seeing Ashtray, bloody nose, and dried tears, something happened. You rushed over dropping the knife to the ground, cupping Ashtray's cheek looking over him for any other injuries. "Ash, what happened are you okay?..Where's fez?..Ash fucking talk to me" You snapped, you didn't mean to get rude, but his silence and blank stares scared you. "Custard.." Ash mumbled "Fuckin rat...I..I killed him?...a-and we got raided.." After those words you tuned out Ash, piecing together what was happening, if Ash was at your house it only meant one thing, Fez was gone.
Once Ashtray noticed your glossy eyes he stopped talking and hugged you "Tell me he's gonna be okay, Ash....please?.." You whispered trying to keep your voice strong, you needed to be the one reassuring Ash, not the other way around "He'll be okay...He's a fuckin g, y/n/n..Ain't nothing gonna take him down..he said he'd call you once he got settled wherever he was going." Ash said loud enough for you to hear. It felt like you stood there hugging ash for hours, in reality it was only about 45 minutes, but you both needed it, Fez was a huge person in both of your lives.
Whenever you two finally did leave the hug Ash went to the kitchen with you, watching you start to cook dinner for him "So...You're not mad..? i-it was my fault Fez went down" He said, his voice barely above a whisper but you could still hear the shakiness of it "No..I don't think it's your fault...You did what you thought was right, Ash...You were protecting your brother..and he was protecting you" You said sternly starting to make pasta for him, he stayed quiet playing with the placemats that were on your kitchen island. You finished the pasta rather quickly, faster than normal, but it still tasted amazing, you and Ash sat in your living room watching old movies that you had. You didn't realize how late you had stayed up until Ash's alarm startled you and made you take in that the sun was rising.
"Ash...You've got school bubs.." You whispered rubbing his back, him using your side and arm as a pillow "Fuck school" You heard him mumble into the throw blanket you had thrown over him earlier. "Nah uh, At least go half day?" You whispered to him watching him sit up "Then I will pick you up and...buy you more smoke if you want?" You bribed raising your eyebrows at him "Fine...be there at 12.." He grumbled standing up to stretch "You have extra clothes upstairs" You smiled at him, there was both fez's clothes and Ash's clothes upstairs, you all three agreed if there was an emergency they'd come over to your house, even after you and Fez split he still knew your house was welcome to him and his younger brother. You got up making Ash breakfast in the mean time while he got ready for school.
Setting the cereal and toast down at the table you grabbed your phone glancing at it, still no call from Fez.
"Shit you didn't have to make me food, y/n" Ash's voice broke you out of your trance, how long were you staring at your phone? "Of course I did, Ash...Just cause...your brother and I aren't on good terms doesn't mean I love you any different, you're like my little baby" You smiled as Ash grimaced, he ate while you were quick to get ready, planning on going up to the police station to see if Fez made bond and how much it'd even be. "You ready ash!?" You yelled from your front door, hearing soft footsteps coming closer to you, Ashtray walking past and out to your car.
The drive was quiet, a comfortable quiet, until you pulled up to the school "You gonna come get me if Fez calls right?..Or fuckin...add me to the call or some shit" Ash asked looking at you, if it wasn't so obvious you wouldn't be able to see the scared little boy Ash truly was, just wanting his big brother back. "of course ash..Same goes for you..we're in this together" You said raising your fist letting his fist bump you before he opened the door "Hey. I love you Ash, call me if you need or want anything" You said giving him a soft smile, you had to remind yourself constantly, despite how he acted Ash was just a kid, not even old enough to legally work or drive yet. "I will." He said shutting the door looking at you for a moment before walking away, giving you a soft wave goodbye "Ash! I said i loved you!" You whined looking at him, there was no way in hell you were gonna let him think he can act like a tough guy with no feelings. "I love you too mom!" He yelled sarcastically, but the smile on his face when he turned around and flipped you off showed he meant it, you weren't gonna lie though, being called mom made your heart flip. Now that you were done taking care of Ash for a moment it was now time to take care of Fez and bring him home.
-
soooo? Part two of when you reconnect with Fez or leave this here?

🍿
Popcorn kernels tink against the glass cage as they burst from their metal container. Their buttery scent permeates the large theater lobby, making your mouth water as you wait patiently for the family of six to finish their order. The mom barking at her kids to stop touching everything as she shoves the purchased boxes of candy into her purse and grabs the two barrel-sized drinks.
“Come on, let’s go watch some singing animals, or whatever,” she says and the kids cheer as they run off down the hall.
You laugh and she rolls her eyes comically with a smile as she chases after the exuberant horde. Thankfully, you won’t be sharing a theater with all of that. You take a step forward, only one more person in front of you. You gasp as you feel a light graze across your ass and you turn to give them a sharp look.
A man with short brown hair in a tight pink polo has his back to you as he chats with his friend, entirely unaware of your outrage. Must have just been an accident. You put a little extra space between you and forget it.
With a grunt you open the heavy door and enter the dimly lit theater. You round the corner and look up at the gridded seats, to your delight, they’re completely empty. You sit near the front of the elevated rows, you always like to put your feet up on the hand railing, it limits the risk of someone sitting in front of you.
You settle in with your popcorn and enjoy one whole trailer before someone else rounds the corner. You spare the two guys a quick glance before the next trailer snags your attention. Oh well, at least there is plenty of space for them to sit far away from you.
They mutter quietly to themselves and find their seats directly behind, only two rows back. You grit your teeth and groan internally as you consider moving, giving yourself a bit more distance, but you don’t want to seem rude. You will be trapped in here with them all movie, so it’s not worth the trouble.
With a click of a button you silence your phone and drop it in your purse, setting it on the seat beside you. The sparse light darkens and that little rush of excitement makes you sink into your seat a little further. The theater has always been your escape, a quiet haven where you get lost in a world different than your own.
You get sucked in, oblivious to everything around you until a shadow passes by your peripherals. You track the man skipping quickly down the steps to your right before he disappears around the corner. Though it’s only a brief distraction it’s enough to blind you to his friend jumping the empty row behind you. Suddenly, an arm swings out from the darkness, pinning your head to the chair.
“Hey, princess,” he coos in your ear, muffling your startled scream with his cool palm. “I have to admit, I’m a little insulted that you didn’t recognize me. A little haircut and a pink polo, and suddenly I’m invisible, huh?”
The voice causes your blood to freeze in fear as the other man reappears only seconds later. How did you not see it before? That triangular torso, is a dead give away even before he removes the baseball cap and smirks as he sees you.
“Doors are locked and the calls been made,” Steve asserts as he stops just on the other side of the railing. “Princess,” he greets you, his expression difficult to read with the bright screen at his back.
You huff through your nose and shake your head, tears heating your eyes as you scratch at Bucky’s unyielding metal hand around your jaw. Bucky chuckles into your ear, his soda-sweet breath hot on your skin. You kick out, trying to slip out of his grasp by sliding down your chair.
“Shit,” Bucky curses as you escape and scramble across the sticky floor.
You panic as they cut off the only two exits, one on either side of you, and close in fast.
“Hey, you’re only going to get yourself hurt,” Steve placates as he stalks down the aisle.
“Fuck you, Steve,” you bark and jump the metal railing, only to get caught embarrassingly quick by Bucky’s hand twisted in your hair.
Your feet slip and you crash against the pole with a pitchy grunt. Steve catches your wrists as you try to bat him away and they guide you to the closest seat. The chair creaks as they slam you down, Bucky pinning you with a cocky smirk while Steve kneels to tie your arms to the padded armrests.
A loud buzz has Steve checking his pocket before announcing, “ETA seven minutes.”
You struggle, the sharp plastic biting your wrists, “please, don’t do this. He told me I could leave if I wanted to. He said it was my choice!”
“Oh come on Princess, you really can’t be that naïve,” Bucky chuckles. “It was a test, and you failed. I’m surprised he gave you so long to change your mind. Must be love, huh Steve?”
Steve nods, “sure seems like it.”
“It’s not love. He’s crazy. And so are both of you,” you snarl, choking back tears.
Bucky tuts as he reaches over to grab your drink, popping the lid and setting it next to you, “that attitude could get you hurt, Princess. Don’t want to be talking like that when he gets here.”
You cringe as he reaches in and pulls out a handful of ice from the cup and nods at Steve, who reaches for your lap. Steve hooks his fingers in the hem of your leggings and pulls them harshly, your ass slipping down the chair as he tugs your underwear with them. Your arms ache at the awkward angle, and your pants twist awkwardly around your ankles.
“Knees,” Bucky orders. Steve grips your knees and keeps them spread wide, exposing you to their dark gaze.
“Still as perfect as ever,” Steve praises, staring at your cunt through the flashing blue lights of the forgotten movie.
Bucky plucks a single cube with his flesh hand and trails it across your cleavage. You whimper and flinch away from the cold, the air conditioned room and your sudden nudity exacerbating your discomfort.
“I think six minutes of this should cool you down,” Bucky snickers as he brings it down between your legs.
You hiss as the ice glides along your slit, your heat melting it quickly so that it trickles down and stains the chair. He hums as he shoves it in, your cunt sucking it in easily as his thick hot finger pushes it deeper. You cry out at the discomfort, your walls clamping around it to try to push it out. But before you can feel that relief Bucky plunges another into you, his hot finger providing a tiny bit of relief from the cold, but not for long.
He manages to get five ice cubes into you, the cold turning into a sharp pain, and then numbing before the pain returns even more than before. The sensation is intense, your hips wiggling as you try to expel them.
“Stop, please! It hurts,” you whine through your teeth, your nails digging into the armrests.
“He’ll be here soon, Princess. And I want you to think long and hard about what you want to say to him. If you’re nice, he might go easy on you,” Steve intones as Bucky loudly sucks the moisture from his cold wet fingers.
“Yeah, which means there might be something left over for us when he’s finished,” Bucky hums in delight.
You groan as your hot cunt burns with ice, the melting water dripping from your core and puddling on the velvet cushion. The shrinking cubes shift within you making you clench in surprise. A gush of water escapes and you moan at the feeling. You aren’t sure if the slickness is entirely from the ice anymore, almost as if the water tricks you into arousal. Your body responds quickly even as you pray for it to end.
“You weren’t always so resistant,” Bucky coos as he admires your twisted expressions. He runs his metal fingers down your cheek, across your lip and slides a knuckle between your teeth for you to bite on. “Just tell him what he wants to hear and we can all be together again,” Bucky urges softly.
“He’s here,” Steve announces, as he turns and heads for the emergency exit.
He pushes open the door and the bright sunlight from the unknowing world beyond reveals a familiar silhouette. His massive frame as wide as the door itself as he steps into the theater and spots you in the sea of red seats. A wide grin grows as he takes in your messy display and strolls toward you.
“Now the real show begins,” Bucky chuckles as he backs away from you, he and Steve silently returning to their seats a few rows back.
Heavy footsteps stop before you as you tremble in the shadow of his hulking frame, so large you can barely see the screen behind him. His face is darkened by the shadows and flickering screen but you can feel his eyes on you. His head tilts as he watches your hips squirm slightly, the last of the ice cubes vacating your hole with one last horrifying squelch.
Your eye lids flutter but you manage to bite back the moan. The relief of the cubes making you sag though the uncomfortable coolness remains.
“Miss me?” He growls, making you shudder in fear.
You swallow thickly and press yourself into the seat, cowering at the trace of malice in his deep voice. You don’t know what to say, you thought you had escaped him. But you should have known he’d never really let you go. A man like this doesn’t just let his property walk off after everything.
“I’ll take that as a yes,” he chuckles darkly.
His long blond strands tickle your neck as he leans down to capture your lips. He nips at your jaw and whispers in your ear, “vacations over, Princess. Time to come home.”
You whimper as a tear rolls down your cheek, all hope fading as the movie reaches its climax, the sweeping orchestral music capturing Thors attention. His brow quirks as he peeks at the screen over his shoulder.
“I suppose it would be rude of me not to let you finish your movie,” he smirks, turning back he rips the zip ties off the armrests in one effortless motion and hauls you to your feet.
The leggings around your ankles cause you to stumble as he forces you across the small carpeted pathway and shoves you over the back of the a chair. The clink of a belt buckle and zipper sound as you hang over the arched back of the seat. Your hands find the armrests and you keep your head up as he grips your hips and prods at your entrance.
“Watch the screen baby, this is the good part,” he orders as he shoves himself in, moaning at the feel of your cool tight channel.
“Fuck,” you mutter, the heat and stretch of his cock is delicious after the cold torment of the ice. It feels larger, somehow, though it could just be that it’s been a month without him around to keep you properly used.
“Yes, Princess. God. Your so fucking perfect. You’re never leaving me again. Do you hear me?” He grunts angrily, picking up speed.
His cocks hammers into you as you hang on for dear life, hips bruising as they beat into the hard plastic back of the chair.
“Say it, Princess.” He demands, smacking your ass. “I want to hear you say you’re mine.”
You squeak at the sting of his palm on your ass and stutter, “I-I’m yours.”
“Good, the boys and I have missed you. They’ve been begging me to let them drag you back home. But I know you just needed some time to… adjust,” he intones as he leisurely slides in and out of your swollen cunt. “Now there will be no more doubts, right?”
He thrusts hard and you shake your head with a sob, “no sir.”
“Good, girl. So good at remembering your manners,” he chuckles as you near your peak.
You come with a pathetic mewl, clamping around his girth making him moan in delight and spill inside of you. He lets you sag to the floor, curling in on yourself as you give up, stewing in your own mess and humiliation.
“Boys, why don’t you help get our Princess to the car? We have a lot of time to make up for,” Thor purrs as he fixes his clothes and watches his two lapdogs carry you out the theater.

warnings: nsfw!!! degradation, praise kink, power play, john being sexy as fuck
John Shelby was a sight to behold in bed. From the moment he had taken your virginity, slow and sweet in your best friend Ada Shelby’s guest room, John’s touch was slow and torturous, fingertips searing into your skin as he was soft and slow with you, making you come with his mouth and hands before even attempting to broach the subject of his cock inside you. You were already his, his pink lips a welcome relief as he lapped at your cunt, obscene sounds echoing off the walls. The two of you were tipsy, the rest of the party obscenely dancing to music playing from the gramophone downstairs. John had always been irresistible to you, but you were his younger sister’s innocent friend, whom you thought he never noticed. He was surprised that you even showed up to the party hanging off Ada’s arm, clad in a light pink silk dress that clung to your curves in a way that made his mouth water. He had watched you make your way through the party, downing whatever drink Ada passed your way. Finally, he got drunk enough to make his way over to you, your eyes sparkling as they met his, gin and tonic sloshing in the glass in your hand. The two of you fell into conversation, John’s fingertips grazing your bare back, causing goosebumps to prickle on your skin.
“Having fun?” John’s lips brushed against your ear as the two of you stood at the edge of the party, at the entrance to a hallway leading to a few spare rooms. You shivered at the contact, alcohol pumping through your veins, giving you the courage to be blunt. “It’d be better if you kissed me,” you smiled shyly, looking up at John through your eyelashes. John’s lips met yours, backing you up slowly against the wall as he kissed you gently, teeth tugging at your bottom lip for access. You let him in, like you’d dreamed of so many times before, kissing him back with fervor, letting out a soft whimper. John groaned, abruptly removing his lips from yours before tugging you into the nearest empty bedroom. He shut the door quickly, lifting you up with his hands on your ass as he connected his lips with yours again, setting you down on the bed before looking down at you with dilated pupils.
“John, there’s something I need to tell you,” you murmured, looking down at the blanket on the bed.
“What’s that, sweetheart?” John asked, peppering kisses on your collarbone.
“I’m-I’m a virgin,” you blurted out, a blush spreading across your cheeks.
John stopped and locked his blue eyes with yours. “You don’t need to be embarrassed about that, darling. It’s just.. Are you sure you want to do this? With me?”
You nodded, looking up at John under hooded eyes. “Yes.”
John wasted no time in covering your body with his, kissing you harder than before. And now, here you were, back arching into John’s face as he continued rubbing circles into your clit while he devoured you. You weren’t even conscious of the noises leaving your mouth as you came all over John’s face, eyes rolling back into your head as you reached your climax. John groaned into your cunt as he watched you come, continuing his ministrations through your orgasm, causing your legs to shake. John finally stopped, chuckling as he wiped his mouth on the back of his hand.
“So fucking pretty when you come.”
You blushed, as John made little work of the rest of your clothes. He spent the next hour showing you just how hard he could make you come, and you couldn’t help but let him. He was headache inducing, in all the right ways. From then on, he’d always find ways to get you alone, from in his office, in his car, in various hotels, to even in the goddamn movie theater once. You’d be lying if you said you didn’t love it, the way he took his time with you, and always paid attention to how your body reacted. However, you knew there was more to John Shelby than the sweetness that he showed you. You had overheard many heated phone calls; heard the rumors spread about his reputation. You found yourself longing for more. You wanted to see the dark side of John, wanted him to use you to his satisfaction.
You could hear John swearing into the telephone before you even opened his office door, the air thick with the tension of the day. You quietly slipped in, not wanting to interrupt. John stood at his desk, eyes trained on the papers spread across it as he snapped into the receiver, shooting his whiskey between sentences. His shoulders were clenched underneath his dark grey suit, making you want to run your hands across the taught muscles in an attempt to help him relax. Profanities spewed from his soft lips as he argued with whoever was on the other line, running a hand through his neatly combed hair.
“I gave you a deadline, yeah? Now, you need to fucking deliver!” John slammed the phone down, exhaling as his eyes found you. A small smile replaced the frown that had previously occupied his mouth.
“God, you’re a fucking sight for sore eyes,” John exhaled.
“Could say the same.” You smiled up at him, walking behind his desk and kissing him, breathing in the intoxicating smell of his cologne. John picked you up and sat you on the desk, deepening the kiss. Before he could continue, you freed your lips from him. John furrowed his brow in confusion, but before he could say anything, you spoke.
“I need to ask you something.”
“What’s goin’ on, darlin’?” John looked slightly concerned, his blue eyes trained on yours.
You steadied your breath. “I was wondering if… you know…. you could be, um, rough with me?”
John let out a sigh, dropping his head slightly before bringing it back up to meet yours, the light of the fireplace reflected off of his eyes. his arms on either sides of you. “Fucking christ, sweetheart. Never thought I’d hear those words come out of that sweet little mouth, hm?” John grinned at you as you ducked your head in embarrassment.
John lifted your chin so your eyes met his again. “I’ll do it, but only if you promise to tell me if it’s too much. You say stop, and I’ll stop, yeah?”
“I promise,” You replied, blushing slightly.
John smiled at you before pressing kisses down your neck, causing goosebumps to prickle. “Pretty little thing like you, wanting me to treat you like a whore, eh?”
You shivered at his words, and John took note, letting out a low chuckle. “Look at you, getting all riled up. Barely even touched you yet sweetheart.”
“John,” you whined, and his eyes darkened.
“Don’t be a fucking brat.” John’s harsh tone went straight to your core as he continued pressing sloppy kisses to your collarbone. You fucking wanted it, and he knew it. Your back arched into John at the mere touch of his hands and mouth. You were already so far gone, it was ridiculous.
“John, please,” you whimpered, looking up at him through heavy lidded eyes, cheeks flushed. This was the look he couldn’t resist, and some part of you knew it.
“Don’t worry, sweetheart, I’m gonna take care of you,” John crooned, his fingers finding their way to your sopping wet core. “Jesus, Y/N, you that wet for me already? Been thinking about my cock all day, huh?”
You couldn’t do anything but nod, moaning at John’s fingertips curling against the spot that made your head spin. John chuckled darkly. “Pretty little girl, couldn’t even wait for me to get home, hm? Had to come see me so I could give you what you need.”
“Fuck,” you moaned, and John’s eyes darkened as he reached a hand up to grip your throat, making your breath hitch.
“Watch your language, princess. Don’t wanna have to make me punish you.” John rumbled, rubbing his thumb in circles around your clit as you squirmed, nodding with flushed cheeks as you looked up at him.
“Yes, sir,” you gasped between whimpers, as John wasted no time connecting your lips roughly. He flipped you over, shoving your skirt over the curve of your ass before entering you, groaning at the feeling of your wet heat practically sucking him in as he grabbed a handful of your hair, pulling your upper half off the desk as he fucked into you at an infuriatingly slow pace.
“You don’t even care that I’ve got you bent over the desk like a whore, huh? You that desperate for me, sweetheart?” John grunted, savoring the feeling of his cock sliding in and out of you slowly. The only speech you could manage other than a fevered nod was almost a cry, and you almost could feel John grin at the state you were in.
“Please, sir,” you managed to blurt out, aching for more from him.
“Please, what?” John mocked, but it went straight to your lower abdomen. It was like he already knew which buttons to press to get you as riled up as possible. If you were screwed before, you were definitely fucked now. Quite literally.
“Please fuck me harder, sir,” you moaned, attempting to fuck yourself back onto him. John grinned at the sight of how eager you were for him; how willing you were to take whatever he gave you.
“Should’ve fucked you like this sooner, huh? Knew you loved my cock, but fucking ‘ell, darling,” John crooned, watching you cry out and grab for the top of the desk for leverage as he pounded into you, savoring the whimpers that fell out of your mouth.
“I’m gonna-” you couldn’t even finish your sentence as John quickened his pace, his hand toying with your clit.
“You gonna come all over my cock, pretty girl?” John growled as he slammed into you roughly, fingertips bruising at your hips. Your eyes rolled into the back of your head as you came as hard as you had ever in your life, body going limp as John chased your orgasm with his, grunting as he released into your pulsing cunt, stickiness dripping down the back of your thighs.
“Fuck,” John groaned as he took his cock out of you. He reached into a drawer and produced a dry towel,  cleaning you up and pressing kisses to the curve of your back as you laid there panting, seeing stars.
“You alright, love?” John questioned, pushing your hair behind your ear and planting a kiss to your forehead.
You nodded, smiling up at him before he pulled you into his arms for a kiss.
“Let me take you home and make you dinner, hmm?” John queried, pressing kisses to your hair.
“Yeah, I’d like that,” you murmured into John’s neck, sleepy yet satisfied.
