hey lovely i’m procrastinating and thought of this question in your version of the marauders what are their zodiac signs? (there is no wrong answer btw)
omggggg i have thoughts but they're a little vague & based on my very surface-level personal knowledge of astrology so don't take any of this seriously
((just doing my main four bc i know them best)
OBVIOUSLY sirius is a scorpio sun. i like the idea of him having a fire moon (feeling things deeply & loudly) and an air rising (bc he's so so cool and fun and interesting), so let's do scorpio sun, sag moon, libra rising (coolest & most insane big three ever i love him sm). i think he's also a hopeless romantic and loyal to a fault and once he knows he can trust someone he falls in love fast and hard, so i'm seeing a taurus venus
remus is the only man ever allowed to be a pisces sun. i think a taurus moon fits him well (warm, creature of habit, desires stability) and i'm 100% convinced his venus is in capricorn (i say as the unfortunate bearer of a capricorn venus myself). i'm sort of stuck on his rising sign though, like my first thought was virgo but then i was immediately like "a pisces man with a virgo rising??? nightmare fuel." maybe aquarius bc he's intelligent and independent but idk that also doesn't sit quite right
((these two are less detailed bc i haven't written/read them as in-depth as i have remus & sirius))
i have always thought james gives 150% aries energy. probably a cancer moon bc he has an innate desire to take care of his loved ones and a leo rising bc he's energetic & passionate & the life of the party
lily is soooooo aquarius sun virgo moon gemini rising. she's ridiculously smart and clever and attentive and curious and caring and i love her sm

Trick or treat! 🎃
Part 1
By the time they made it to the front of the line, Remus is genuinely enjoying himself with James, his girlfriend Lily, and Sirius.
Sirius, who looks like a centerfold model and keeps stealing glances at Remus. An impossible senario, he is sure, but Remus can't stop thinking that Sirius seems interested in him too.
"A'right, kids. A'right. Scootch on up closer. Don't be shy; we don't bite here," a costumed man says as he guides them onto the porch. He wears makeup that darkens his eyes and makes his skin look sallow. His hair hangs in long, stringy strands around his face like he hasn't bathed in years. "I'm the caretaker, and you're about to enter my house. But beware. Not everyone who checks in gets a chance to check out, and some of our guests are dying to meet you."
James is bouncing on his feet, Lily looks aprehensive but like she's having fun, and Remus is just excited at the prospect of being scared. Sirus looks about ready to piss his pants, and Remus can't stop smiling at it. As the caretaker talks, Sirius edges back away from him until he's almost pressed against Remus's arm.
Remus resists the urge to reach around and tap on Sirius's shoulder, but just barely. Instead, he leans in to whisper. "If you need to, you can hold my hand."
"Shut up, I dont' need to," Sirius says quickly with false bravado. He gives Remus wan smile.
They walk into the first room of the house, which is a sitting room of sorts. They pass a haggard looking maid who appears to be missing an eye, then move into the room that would almos seem normal if you don't look closely at the horrific details. It's actually really incredible continutity, if you ask Remus, but he's not so sure if Sirius would agree.
The door closes behind them and the lights go off, just as suddenly. There's the sound of lightning, and flashes of a strobe light before the framed picture in front of them slides up to reveal it's contents--two twin girls with long dark hair and white robes--in the living flesh. Or, well, in the flesh, nonetheless.
Sirius jumps and screams, bacing solidly into Remus and grabbing both of his hands. The twins continue talking disquetingly in sync, but Sirius doesn't let go of his hands. Remus doesn't pull back.
When the fireplace opens to reveal a crawlspace for them to crawl through to the next room, Sirius shifts until Remus is in front of him, but he doesn't let go of one of his hands.
"Alright there?" Remus asks as he pulls Sirus through behind him.
"I'm just fine," Sirius says proudly, then drops his voice. "Please dont' leave me."
"I wouldn't dream of it," Remus says.

*****************************************
Stepping up to the kitchen with her brother right by her side, she saw Regulus. A simple black t-shirt covering his torso and she could notice some strand of her hair here and there.
His back was facing them while he cooked bacon and the coffee was finishing. The steam from the cooking was rising and gave him an ethereal look when put together with the sunlight entering from the window.
She didn't knew what was it, because she saw him like that everyday for the last three years. But that time, she thought how much his aura was husband material.
"I'm going to check on Sirius." The girl announced, desesperately wanting to avoid thinking about him that way, and sprinted upstairs once again. "Good morning, Remus."
The man was stunned to see her up so early, she clearly wasn't like James on that part.
"Good morning, Y/n."
Even he wasn't such a morning person, but there was a lot on his mind to spend time sleeping.
"Are you well rested?" She asked, dragging her feet to Sirius' room.
"As much as I can be."
Opening just a tad, she saw the man looking like he was thrown on the bed, hands to different sides, head tilted and open legs.
"I don't remember him having such a heavy sleep." Remus commented when they entered the room, not even trying to keep quiet.
To be honest, he usually was the last one to wake up, so the few times he has to wake Padfoot, it wasn't that much struggle.
"The Blacks usually don't, Regulus told me." She added, approaching the bed. "But I think after having to sleep on Azkaban with who knows what sounds, you just get used to it. Sirius? Sirius!" Shaking his shoulders didn't do the trick, neither shouting his name and, to be fair, Lupin was already thinking he died again.
That was until Y/n pulled the sheets and he stumbled to the side, almost falling off the bed.
"Oooh, why?" He moaned in a raspy voice, such as a child.
"Because I need to make sure you're okay." She informed, stepping on the bed. "Don't worry, it won't take long."
Every time she pulled a little bit of his skin to examinate searching for possible necrotic parts, he'd moan and grunt lightly like an unhappy dog.
"So, are you guys together?" She asked, looking closely to his eyelids.
"Us?" Lupin questioned, gesturing to himself and the man lying down. "Why would you think that?"
"Did my idiot brother said something?"
"Reggie only said you guys were really close and he couldn't understand why Remus actually believed you betrayed my parents." She told, moving to the start of his throat. "But way before that, I've always had dreams about what would happen if Voldemort never came to our house, and you guys were always together so... I guess I just assumed it.."
Remus and Sirius stared at eachother awkwardly. It's been years since they seen one another like that.
Sure, on the Order's meetings at the Grimmauld Place they'd sit extremely close and sometimes spare some glances no one else understood. But their story was from years ago, when they didn't even suspected Peter could betray them.
And to think that they had plans of getting married once the war was over.
Both had to admit: they missed it. God, they missed it.
Even with all the fights, the screams, the jealousy game, in the end they were there for the other. Lupin even dared to miss the full moons in his years at Hogwarts, knowing his best friends would be by his side.
They remembered when James and Peter first found out officially, and they ended up sleeping in the Common Room to avoid all their unstoppable romantic demonstrations.
But right now was different.
Sirius went through a lot, he didn't know if he was ready for it again, and the war? There was so much!
And Remus... He just got used to being alone again! Of course, Grant was there for some time but he learned to never again let someone in that much.
"I guess it's alright." She finally said, breaking the uncomfortable silence they all left.
"Wait, if we're here... Your brother and my brother are together alone?" Sirius asked, his mustache giving an even darker tone to his smile.
"I bet it's the weirdest situation ever."
"I, all of a sudden, have the urge to spend one hour in the shower. If you don't mind, m'lady." He bowed, standing up and whipping his hair to the sides as making his way to the bathroom.
Y/n and Lupin laughed at that, making him pose even more for their entertainment, feeling young once again.
"I know you all want a show, but I'm a mysterious man and won't give it to ya!" Sirius announced in a theatrical whisper, disappearing and closing the door behind.
"I'm sorry." The girl said after a few moment in silence with her godfather. "If I made things weird by asking that."
Remus started to shrug away, but his eyes sparkled, seeing an opportunity. "I'm guessing I could ask you something close to that." He sat on the end of the bed, staring at her. "What's your relationship with Regulus?"
The Potter held her breath a little, he had to ask that right now?
If he asked that yesterday, it'd be so much easier to answer.
"We're just... close." She breathed out, it wasn't a lie. "It was a rough start, but we spent so much time together."
"And you have, may I say... benefits in that friendship?"
"What? No!"
"Do you wish to have those benefits?" That question made her stop in her tracks.
Of course earlier in bed she thought about kissing him, there was no doubt. But was it all? Or maybe she wanted a little more than just small benefits?
"It doesn't matter." She landed in her chest, face buried between pillows to avoid looking at her godfather.
His laugh was audible and she squirmed even more.
Look at me, she thought, not talking about boys with my godfather!
"You know, I don't blame you." He started, coming closer to her. "Regulus have always been pretty, he's strong and smart. And probably the last man on earth to you right now." He joked. "I think Lily would've approved. James not a chance, but he'd think that about any guy that wants to get with you."
"Regulus doesn't want to get with me." She snapped, grabbing the pillow and facing the ceiling. "And besides, nothing is happening so that dies here!"
"I think the last thing happening is remaining dead around here." Sirius said, staring out of the bathroom.
Y/n stared harshly at Lupin, massing him swear silently he wouldn't say anything.
Both Harry and Regulus thanked internally when the three were coming downstairs, an unpleasant silence pairing all along.
"Good morning, Harry." Sirius cheered, fuzzing his already messy hair. "Good morning, brother!"
As they all sat down to eat, Regulus noticed how Y/n looked like she was messing effort to be away from him, leaving an empty chair between them, and avoiding to take thing closer to where he was, even though her favorite was right in front of him.
"So, what are we gonna do with the Order?"
"I'm glad you asked, Harry." Y/n said with a little smile. "I whispered a Confundus before starting out of the shadows to save Sirius, it didn't affect you because you were too far from me, but it must've worked for others."
"So the plan is, you and Remus go back today and say he took you away after Sirius died. You're in grief so questions will be short. Sirius will stay here since he's allegedly dead. Until we find a way to communicate with you guys, no one says a word about what happened or we all go down. And I mean to Dumbledore, too."
Harry nodded. He still wanted to trust his professor, but if it wasn't the safest thing to do, everything would become hell, even his new little piece of heaven.
"If you're gonna pass as grief it'd be better to not look so happy." Regulus advised and Harry noticed he was starting to smile.
He really couldn't help, everything was starting to feel okay. He just wanted to laugh at the moment and hug his sister.
After all, with years thinking he was completely alone, finding out all these people got your back, that would make anyone's head spin.
The tears came by the time they were saying goodbye. He wanted to stay and forget a war was involving him.
"See you soon." The girl assured, with a smile on her face and he hoped it was true.
When the boy and the professor disappeared the house immediately felt lonely, empty.
She wished war was over, so the twins never had to spend moments alone again.

Chapter 18: Dreams & Nightmares
Tumblr media
(Warnings:Smoking, drinking, language, sexual themes. 18+ only…..)
Hello lovey people!!! I’m happy to be back posting. Sorry for the long hiatus. Life got in the way but I have loads of chapters to add here! (I’ve currently written 60 already so buckle up!) & Please forgive me for the annoying spaces in between paragraphs. It’s been awhile so I’m getting used to this character limit 😵‍💫
Word count: 4.8k
"I- it's Arthur. He- he's been attacked at the Department of Mysteries…". "WHAT?!", Brigitte sits up abruptly in the bed, holding the sheet up to cover her body. Remus is staring at Sirius with wide eyes and a slack jaw. The dark-haired wizard shakes his head. "Dumbledore sent that git grandfather of mine, in the portrait in the other room. I heard him calling for me and he said Arthur's been attacked at the Ministry. He's on his way to the hospital. All the kids will be here soon", he pants and then rushes down the stairs.
"Shit…", Remus breathes out, combing his fingers through his hair. Brigitte vaguely remembers hearing Harry ask Hermione about hearing a voice in his bedroom, of course Dumbledore would have a stealth way of communicating like this in case of emergency. She reaches over and pulls on an old tee shirt and hurries over to him, "C'mon, we need to get dressed", she says as she rubs his arm. Remus jerks his head and he looks over at her, "Right… right…", he mumbles before he puts his dress shirt and trousers back on. Brigitte slips into her pajama pants. Remus takes her hand, holding it tightly as they descend the stairs. As soon as they reach the bottom landing they hear a loud crash. "OUCH!". "Oooo Freddie! You kneed me in my twins!". "I'm not Fred, you're Fred!". "Then you must've also kneed me in the head!". "Will you two shut it?! Ugh, Ron get off my foot!".
Brigitte's pace quickens when she hears Ginny yelp. "Get OUT KREACHER", they hear Sirius growl. They pass the house elf in the hall, muttering his usual niceties, "Filth blood traitors have come back… oh look, scummy werewolf and whore who dare to desecrate master's home-". "Kreacher!", Remus barks at the ball of wrinkles uncharacteristically. Brigitte squeezes his hand, "Usually he ignores me completely, I think we're making progress", she whispers.
Remus and Brigitte rush hand-in-hand into the kitchen and Ginny immediately runs over to the couple. Tears are streaming down her face as the little read head squeezes her arms around Brigitte. She lets go of Remus' hand and pats Ginny on the back. "What's going on?!", Sirius asks as he helps Harry up, "they told me Arthur's been injured?". Ginny whimpers into Brigitte's chest. She comfortingly shushes the distraught girl and guides her to a bench in the corner by the fireplace. "Ask Harry", said Fred breathlessly.
"Yeah, I want to hear this for myself", George adds. Remus sits down at the kitchen table next to Ron who has a pale green shade to his face. The twins and Sirius stand in the middle of the kitchen, all of them watching as Harry starts pacing. "It was… like… a vision", Harry shutters, "I saw a snake slithering across a dark room… towards a man, it was Mr. Weasley…", he shifts uncomfortably, "… the snake rose from the floor and started attacking him… and, and then I woke up".
Brigitte, Remus, and Sirius' look at one another horrified. Snape mentioned Nagini just a few hours ago, but he didn't know what she would be used for. Who knew they'd find out so quickly? They all look at Harry expectantly. He looks down at his feet, his ears reddening and a nauseous feeling intensifying. "I'm so sorry you had to see that Harry", he jerks his head when Brigitte address him with a gentle voice, "I'm sure Arthur is okay. He's already being taken care of at St. Mungos, and it sounds like you saved him".
George sits down beside her on the bench, "Is Mum coming here?", he asks her worriedly. "I'm not sure, George, I'm sorry. She'll probably go to the hospital first when she hears", she says and pats his shoulder. "We've got to go to St. Mungos… now!", Ginny urges suddenly, looking around the room. Sirius huffs impatiently and rubs his forehead, "Wait- you can't go rushing off to the hospital… how would you explain how you know about the attack?".
"It doesn't matter?! It's our dad!", Fred shouts angrily, taking a few steps towards the shirtless wizard, eyeing up and down his tattooed chest as the redhead stands a few inches taller. "It matters… because this would draw attention to the Order and to Harry. The Ministry cannot know about these visions…", Remus speaks up, sounding surprisingly calm. Ginny huffs and curls up next to Brigitte, "Someone else could've told us! Someone besides Harry!", she exclaims, hugging her knees into her chest.
"Like who?", Sirius asks impatiently and takes a deep breath, "look- your dad was hurt while doing something for the Order. It'll look suspect enough with him coming in the middle of the night, but then his kids busting into the room moments after it happened-". "We don't care about the stupid Order!", Fred cuts him off. George stands up next to him, "It's our dad dying you're talking about!".
"Your father knew what he was getting into, and he won't thank you if you mess things up for the Order!", Sirius shouts angrily at them. Brigitte tightens her embrace on Ginny as her tears dampen Brigitte's shoulder. "This is how it is- this is why you're not in the Order- you don't understand that there are things worth dying for!", Sirius fumes. James and Lily's faces flash through his mind, making him suck in his breath and grip firmly onto the back of a chair. Remus goes over to his friend, patting him on the back. "Sirius… stop. Just breathe", he tries to calm him down.
"You're right, they're not in the Order but young children worried about their father. So how about be a little easy on them?", Brigitte tries to diffuse the tension. She takes a deep sigh and looks to the twins, "Boys, I know it's hard but you all have to act like you don't know anything yet. Your dad knows the risks, we all do-," she says thinking back to her injury, "-We have to stay here, at least until we hear from your mother, alright?".
She can feel Ginny silently weeping. George sits back down; Brigitte puts her arm around him and he instinctively rests his head on her shoulder, all emotion drained from his face. She looks around the room, horror and confusion masked on everyone.
Fred drops into the seat next to Ron, and Harry follows suit. Sirius claps his hands together, "How about someone thing to drink while we wait?", he offers and uses his wand to bring everyone butterbeers. They drink in a tense silence.
Brigitte glances over at Harry, who has a look of guilt spread across his face as his eyes stay focused on the table. Then she looks over to Remus leaning against the countertop, anxiously tapping the rim of his glass. His gaze is already fixed on her. They try to smile at one another, but it comes across more as a grimace. Then with a flash of light near the ceiling, a small note along with a red feather flutters down to the table. Sirius snatches the bundle mid-air. "Fawkes…hmm, not Dumbledore's writing, must be your mum's", he says and hands it to Fred.
His eyes shift over it frantically, "Dad's still alive. I'm off to St Mungos now. Stay where you are. I'll send word as soon as I can. Mum.", he looks around the room anxiously. "Still alive? But that sounds like…", George says slowly. Brigitte hugs the trembling siblings beside her. "He's going to be alright", she says calmly, "he has the best healers looking after him, and your mother". "How about you all lie down until your Mum gets here?", Sirius suggests. He's met with eat-shit glares, making Remus silently chuckle.
They wait in silence for an update for what feels like an eternity. Brigitte can feel George getting heavier on her shoulder as he drifts in and out of consciousness, while Ginny rests her head on her lap. Fred stares intently at his mother's note until Remus clasps his shoulder comfortingly. He gives the older wizard a sad smile and flips the note upside down. Harry and Ron sit shoulder to shoulder, looking at the empty butterbeer bottles.
No one really knows how long they waited like that. Brigitte rotates between which Weasley sibling's hair she caresses. At this point George is totally asleep and she has to tense her abdomen muscles to keep them upright. Harry avoids eye contact with everyone in the room. The guilt and responsibility build up like a fire growing inside him. Sirius watches him take dry gulps occasionally and shift uncomfortably in his chair.
Finally as the dark night sky turns into a deep gray-purple, Mrs. Weasley comes rushing into the kitchen. "He's going to be fine", she says with a quivering lip, "he's sleeping. Bill's with him now, we'll see him once he's off to work… Thank you, Harry. I don't know what would've happened". Ginny and Fred run to their mother and hold her tightly. Ron takes a deep sigh in his chair and smiles at Harry. The bespeckled boy doesn't look so tense anymore. George slouches back against the bench and covers his face, leaning against Brigitte. She lovingly rubs his arm, "Shh, shh… he's alright Georgie!", she whispers. He nods his head and rushes to his mother.
"That's excellent, Molly. I never doubted he'd be okay", Remus says quietly as he pats the huddle of Weasley's on the backs. "How about some breakfast?", Sirius says cheerfully and does a headcount. "Actually… Sirius, can I talk to you for a minute?", Harry says hesitantly. "Yes, of course, Harry", he says, leading him out the kitchen door. He glances back to Brigitte and Remus to start breakfast. "We got it", she nods.
Brigitte walks over to her boyfriend and gives him a tight hug. She looks up into Remus' caramel eyes with a soft smile, thankful all is now well. Then she grabs his hand and pulls him to the other side of the counter, taking lead of the meal. The Weasley offspring and Harry find a place at the table and watch the couple's adorable domestic scene … After a filling breakfast of Brigitte's famous pancakes and Molly further explaining Arthur's current condition, exhaustion settles on everyone in the room.
"Sirius, do you mind if the kids sleep here for a bit?", Molly asks. "Not at all! In fact… please stay until after the holidays! Or at least until Arthur is out of hospital", he offers, any past tensions in their relationship now forgotten. "Oh, Sirius that's too kind! Are you sure?", she hesitates. "The more the merrier! We've already planned on decorating the house today", he says with a boyish excitement. Brigitte laughs at his giddiness… 'He hasn't had a Christmas since he was younger than me… no wonder he acts like a teenaged boy half the time'. She turns to Remus; this Holiday is monumental for the both of them.
The syrup-coated plates get stacked up in the sink for Kreacher to clean, and the kids shuffle upstairs to their usual guest rooms. "Molly, I can stay with you down here with you'd like company?", Brigitte offers. "No no, dear. Thank you, but you get some sleep. I'm fine with the quiet for a while", she smiles tightly.
Brigitte goes to her bedroom to check on Ginny, who is already in a deep slumber. She quietly closes the door and tip toes into Remus' room, where he's leant up against the headboard waiting for her.
⋆。˚☽˚。⋆
However, their rest is interrupted midday by the abrupt wailing of Mrs. Black's portrait. The children waste no time jumping out of bed and running down the stairs, hoping its someone with news of their dad. Luckily, it is Tonks, who's been assigned to escort them to St Mungos.
Still half-asleep with gnarly bed head, the family wraps up in their winter layers hung up by the front door. "Tonks, will you keep an eye out for a young man in the ward with Mr. Weasley? His name is Alex, he's got short brown hair and a bandage on his shoulder. From a werewolf bite…", Brigitte asks hurriedly before the auror leaves.
"I sure can, ma'am", Tonks salutes, "I'll report my findings when I return!". "Ha, alright. At ease, soldier", she mocks the eccentric witch. Locking the door after they've all filed out, Brigitte makes her way to the kitchen where Remus and Sirius are already discussing the early morning events. "Tell me exactly what he said…", Remus says slowly. Brigitte sits down next to him and gives her undivided attention to Sirius. He runs his fingers through his long dark hair, "Harry said his normal dream was… interrupted, and suddenly he was slithering on the floor…he was the snake. He didn't watch a snake attack Arthur, he was the one attacking him", Sirius shakes his head cluelessly. "Mon Dieu", Brigitte gasps.
"What the hell does that even mean?", Remus stresses. "I dont know, but I don't like it-", Sirius goes on, "- it's not like the visions he's had before…". Brigitte opens her mouth to speak when a loud CRACK startles them. "Ah, hello! I wanted to wait until the other occupants left…", Dumbledore casually remarks as he straightens out his robes. "Sir! What is going on?", Sirius asks. "We had all been informed about the snake, and suddenly it attacks?", Brigitte worries. The headmaster looks at the three calmly, "Voldemort is getting more powerful, and more determined… perhaps more desperate", he says in his quiet rough voice. "His snake too. Had Arthur not been informed beforehand of Voldemort's potential to use it, I fear what his outcome would have been. Nothing could've shielded Arthur from the wrath of Nagini, this is not normal magic". "Harry is not dreaming is he, sir?", Brigitte asks nervously.
"No, my dear", the old headmaster says, "it seems, unfortunately, that Harry and Voldemort have an usual bond, that I can only attest to the night he tried to kill Harry years ago … he was having visions during the tournament, but not like this. I think the only explanation is that Voldemort's powers are growing…". "Harry said he was looking through the eyes of the snake, not Voldemort…", Remus says curiously. "Yes… as Snape told us, Nagini and Voldemort hold a… special connection. This, I believe, is why he's able to occupy both minds", Dumbledore says. "Does Voldemort know that Harry can see all this?", Remus asks.
"Not yet. It doesn't seem controlled. Harry gets random glimpses. Voldemort would use this to his advantage if he knew". "How would he do that?", Sirius asks. "What Voldemort doesn't know yet is that his attempts to retrieve the prophecy will always fail. It can only be taken by the person it is about. I believe the snake was sent to locate exactly where the Prophecy rests, so they're more prepared next time", Dumbledore explains. "But if Voldemort learns about their mind connection, he will use Legilimency against Harry". "So this is why we're guarding the Department of Mysteries? What is this prophecy? How is it a weapon?", Brigitte asks. Her frustration of being left out of pertinent information is bubbling in her veins.
Dumbledore fixes his long white beard. "it is not safe for anyone to be privy to that information yet. We cannot risk it being found out by Volde -" "But if my godson is being used by him-", Sirius growls, but Dumbledore raises his hand to silence him. Brigitte looks at him and Remus out of the corners of her eyes, nervous about what the outcome of all this will be. Dumbledore analyzes their overwhelmed faces, "That is why I've already spoken with Severus about giving Harry occlumency lessons to strengthen the wall protecting his mind. Now- I must be off. Umbridge is beside herself that the Weasley children and Harry have left early. Happy Christmas!", Dumbledore rushes, and with a CRACK he's gone. "How can we have people risk their lives to protect something, and we can't even know what it is?", Brigitte questions horrifically.
"Well, whatever it is, it scared Voldemort enough to kill James and Lily in his mission to get Harry", Remus explains, a glint a sadness in his eyes. Sirius stares at the spot where Dumbledore was standing, his jaw dropped on the floor. "Did he… say SEVERUS?!", he bellows, ignoring the the couple's comments. "You've GOT to get over whatever is it that's between you three!", Brigitte rolls her eyes dramatically. "Nope. Don't like him, don't trust him", Sirius sneers. "Remus! Reason with the big baby please", she turns to his handsome scarred face. "I'm sorry darling, but this is over twenty years of animosity. I don't care for him much either. He, uh… he let it 'slip' to some students that I'm a werewolf… thus ending my career at Hogwarts", he shares resentfully. "I'll kill him", she blurts out. Remus laughs and takes her hand, "You will not", he says. He has a smile on his face but his voice is firm, "you don't need to get involved in our shit with Snape".
"Well… just remember this 'animosity' has been going on since before I was a baby", she retorts and crosses her arms victoriously. The wizards look at her completely shocked by that fact, doing the math in their head and shuttering at the revelation. Remus scoffs guiltily and runs his long fingers through his hair, astonished by how long this has been going on. "Fuck woman, way to make us feel old!", Sirius exaggerates, "Anyhow… Snivellus is harmless and outnumbered… but enough about him. Tell me: what's a 'feminist'?", he asks, looking at block lettering on her shirt.
⋆。˚☽˚。⋆
Early that evening, the children return with lifted spirits after visiting with Arthur. Molly finally feels clear-minded enough to return home for shower and to pack clean clothes for her family. While Brigitte and Remus distribute their homemade pizza, Fred and George put on a miniature firework show that their mother would never approve of; they even talk the French witch into lighting the fuse with a blink of her eyes. Miniature dragons and dragonflies soar above them. Finally, smiles grace the faces of the children after a taxing day.
Brigitte gives Ginny her dinner and turns to Tonks, offering her the next plate of pizza. Tonks shakes her head and beckons Brigitte over with a finger curl. "Alex was sleeping the whole time we were there. Bandage looked pretty bad. I spoke to the Healer in charge of his case, Le Fay, she said he let his girlfriend visit. That's all. Sorry Love", Tonks reports.
"Sorry? This is wonderful news! I knew that stubborn bastard would listen, he's already making progress. Poor guy, he's probably so normal and nice … Thanks Tonks. Sure you cannot stay for dinner?". "Gus is taking me out", she says with twinkling eyes. "Dump him", Brigitte shrugs. "You're really going to make me choose? Fine". Tonks grabs a piece of pizza and practically shoves the entire thing down her throat. "There. Dinner is finished!". She struggles to swallow the thick wad of cheese and dough.
"I need someone to obliviate that from my mind please!", Brigitte gags. She and Tonks kiss cheeks and the Auror waves to everyone on her way out. "And let me know when you want to practice again!", she shouts down the hall. Molly joins them shortly thereafter, relieved to see her children smiling and taken care of. The anxious tension from earlier is no longer lingering between the children and Sirius now that they have visited Arthur. Molly kisses every single head sitting at the table before taking the open seat between Ginny and Ron, thanking Brigitte repeatedly.
"It's really no problem, really Molly. I'd never let any of these kids starve!", Brigitte insists, making a plate of pizza hover to the Weasley mother. Remus looks down at Brigitte, cupping her chubby cheek when she mimics his loving gaze and subsequently gaining the attention of the children. "So, are you two finally, like officially … y'know?", Fred points his pizza at the couple. Everyone looks at them, excitedly waiting for an answer. Harry genuinely smiles for the first time since his nightmare after seeing Remus' cheeks get a faint pink tint. He peeks down embarrassedly at the witch he gets to call his.
"Yup! I finally wore him down", Brigitte cheers cheekily and nudges his shoulder. They stare at each other shyly with goofy smiles. "Yeah, and I don't think they've let go of each other this past month", Sirius adds, pretending to gag behind his pizza and making Harry snort. Sirius smiles at himself proudly for making the boy laugh. He can't imagine the mental toll this has had on him today. "How romantic", Ginny swoons. "We're not nearly as bad as Bill and Fleur!", Brigitte mumbles. Now it's Ginny's turn to heave. Ron's face flushes. "Well… I think you two are adorable. I told Britt that over summer break", Ginny teases. "So adorable", the twins nod simultaneously, but George momentarily glances at Brigitte with a sad and longing look when she turns her attention back to Remus and notices them touching each other under the table.
Instead of having a late night beginning the Christmas decorations, they agree to start in the morning. Molly sends the children upstairs so they adults can discuss everything that has happened. "Are you alright, Molly?", Brigitte asks, setting a cup of tea down in front of the shaken woman. "I'll be alright when Arthur is out of hospital. I cannot believe it. I'm so grateful that Snape, and you, informed the Order about the snake. Arthur was keeping an eye out for it. Merlin knows what would've happened if he hadn't been", Molly whimpers, wiping the corner of her eye with a napkin.
"Dumbledore came by when you and the children were out", Remus says. "He said no one could've completely protected themselves against it. Arthur is a brilliant wizard… and it sounds like that won't be the last time we encounter the snake". "Apparently Voldemort and the snake have a magical bond. They're connected in a similar way Harry is with Voldemort. A blessing and a curse. He keeps having these nightmares, but it saved Arthur this time", Sirius says. They fill Molly in on everything she missed: Harry seeing through the snake, Voldemort's capability to weaponize his mind, and Snape giving Harry Occlumency lessons.
"Oh, boy. I'm sure Snape is thrilled about that", Molly scoffs. "I hope he'll help the poor boy for once". "He better or he'll have to deal with me", Sirius threatens. "Alright now. I think that's enough for tonight. We've all had a long day", Remus says. Brigitte nods her head agreeably. "Right, and a long day of decorating tomorrow". They silently go to their rooms, their thoughts overwhelmed with what has occurred in the last 24 hours. Brigitte checks on Ginny, who is sound asleep in her bed. She kisses the redhead on the forehead and tip toes over to Remus' room. He's sitting up against the headboard waiting for her.
"Lunaire…", she whispers as she slides into the narrow room. She takes a look around, seeing his room for the first time. It's much smaller than hers and the floor is littered with books, boxes, and papers. Brigitte has to choose her steps wisely to find a makeshift path. She glances at the bedside table and sees a copy of Dorian Gray stacked on a poetry book, and set next it to is the small portrait she drew of him. There's also a small pile of empty chocolate wrappers.
Brigitte looks back to her lover jumps on top of him, straddling his hips. She nuzzles her face in his neck, giving him soft kisses right under his ear. Remus wraps his arms tightly around her, taking deeps breaths as the peacefulness he gets from her swaddles him like a blanket.
Their hearts beat synchronously as they lay in silence, having their first quiet moment together all day. They knew the risks of being in the Order when they joined up, but this smacked them in the face with that dark reminder — that one day they may leave Grimmauld place and never come back; or worse, the person in their arms facing that fate. "Things are only going to get worse aren't they?", Brigitte mumbles against his skin.
He tightens his hold and sighs deeply, "Yes-", he says regretfully, "It feels like last time… everything seems normal from the outside, doubts only coming out in whispers. People worry but cannot trust others and are scared to say anything… As long as Voldemort is holed up in that manor, we can't get him. And I think that's where he'll stay until he has to do things himself". Brigitte's face wrinkles at the possibility of any other Order members getting hurt, or killed like they have in the past.
Remus brushes the hair out of her face as he gazes up at her, "I will never let anything happen to you". It still feels like a gut punch when he thinks about her lying on the kitchen table bleeding and screaming for help, and he'll be damned if she's ever in pain like that again. "I don't want you to get hurt either, Lunaire… that could've been you tonight", Brigitte cries, squeezing her legs around him. She lifts her head slightly to looks into his eyes. Her lip trembles and she bursts into tears. "It so easily could've been you!", she sobs. The delirium from the long day is setting in and she's a ball of emotions. "Hey… shhh, shh. Don't get upset, Darling", he rubs her cheek gently to wipe away her tears. His least favorite thing in the world is Brigitte being upset, and it's like a knife in the gut seeing her cry over him. He swallows the big lump building in this throat.
"Things aren't going to get any worse today… We're safe here, love", he says trying to cheer her up. She nods her head and blinks back her tears. Then she presses her lips firmly to his and tangles her fingers in his sandy hair. Remus can taste the remnants of Brigitte's salty tears as his hands roam up and down her side, finding their way under her shirt and caressing the dramatic curve of her waist. She opens her soft lips and ghosts his mouth with her tongue, inviting him in. They kiss sloppily, hungrily tasting each other and exchanging breaths.
Brigitte grinds her hips down against Remus, making him moan into her mouth which send tingles down between her legs. She bites his lip and tugs his hair, pulling him in as close as physically possible and ignoring the way his facial hair scratches her soft skin. Ever since his unmerciful foreplay last night, she's been desperate for his touch. She needs to hold him, to have him as close to her as she can. They both do.
Sitting up to catch her breath, Brigitte takes a moment to admire the gorgeous man who is just as crazy about her as she is for him. His shirt is wrinkled and haphazardly tucked into his tented pants. But Remus unabashedly admires Brigitte sitting above him like an angel; burning lust in his eyes and aching for her touch …

chaotic book ramble so I can stop spiraling into the abyss: my childhood favorite books that I've been thinking about lately
I start college in four days, where I'll be pursuing an English degree. I've been both a reader and by extension a writer my whole life. lately, I've been thinking about the books I loved when I was younger that fueled this passion and thus helped me along to where I am now <3
The Land of Stories series by Chris Colfer. I still have my old copies of these books, and when I tell you they are well-loved, I mean they are well-loved. they're sort of fairytale retellings, and take place in the Land of Stories, which exists as a parallels world to this one where fairytale characters are real and living beyond their happily ever afters. the books follow twins Alex and Connor, who find out (spoiler?? lol) that their grandmother is the fairy godmother. all sorts of stuff goes down, and honestly I only remember half of it like a fever dream, but I remember really loving it in book five (?) when they get to meet the characters from stories Connor wrote. honestly, I probably read the entire series over fifty times, and that's not an exaggeration. first read them the year the third book came out, when I was nine. waiting for the rest was, I recall, absolute torture.
the Spiderwick Chronicles by Holly Black and Tony DiTerlizzi. this is so funny to me, because these books basically set me up for my later teen years and loving the Folk of the Air series by Holly Black - but I digress. I first read these at age eight in a high-stress time of my life, and as a result they were likely deeply formative. they follow twins Jared and Simon (more twins ??) and their older sister Mallory (thinking back, she was absolutely part of my bi awakening). they move with their mother into the old Spiderwick mansion, and soon discover a fieldguide all about faeries and different fae species that live in the woods surrounding the house. I honestly think that the plot of these books is batshit, but I still sort of love them. there's a movie, but it's terrible, and aggressively condenses the plot into something completely unrecognizable.
Harry Potter, by... Harry Potter. isn't it great that, after his time at Hogwarts, he decided to write a seven-book autobiography?? so funky of him!! anyways - I read these at the ripe age of ten, and stuck by loving them since. HP was my first fandom, and maybe the one I'm fondest of (actually, thinking on this, no), and Hogwarts in general holds a lot of nostalgia for me. this being said, I still love the books, but I have to say that I reread them last year for the first time since I was maybe 14/15 and um. wow. Mr. Potter you are?? problematic??? someone please tell me why the adult man who was allowed to abuse children in a position of power for sixteen years got a redemption arc but the literal CHILD who was born into an abusive and power-hungry family didn't. also why is Dumbedore hailed as such a bloody saint?? he's worse than fucking Voldemort. I said what I said. also it's super confusing that Harry never mentioned in his autobiography that his Sirius and Remus were happily married and living at Grimmauld place. weird storytelling choice I guess!!
all those damned Warrior cats books by Erin Hunter. I swear to god these books had crack in them I ATE THEM UP from the ages of like. eight to eleven?? maybe??? genuinely, I must've reread them a hundred times, but I could tell you NOTHING about the plots. a few vibes, maybe, but zero plots. did they even have plots?? were plots a thing in those books??? how was I so obsessed with them???? funniest part is the fact that I see people talking about them on the internet now and it's just. insane. actually insane.
Lockwood and Co by Jonathan Stroud. full transparency: I read these for the first time at age eleven (around the time the fourth book out of five came out) and now remain an active member of the fandom. I love these books, and these characters, with my whole heart and I want nothing more than them to be happy. the Netflix show, though I have some pretty severe gripes with it, is still really amazing and absolutely deserves a second season. the books are set in London, where ghosts are real deeply dangerous, and follow the main trio of Lucy, Lockwood, and George. I reread them at the start of the year in preparation for the show, and they're genuinely just incredible works. I sobbed a lot reading them. they're absolutely comfort reads for me; 35 Portland Row is home.
wow. that was a lot. there's honestly several more I could talk about (School for Good and Evil, Percy Jackson, etc), but this is a long enough post for now, ha. love you all <3

alecto carrow hcs?
I know she is a death eater and criminal in Canon but I am going to answer this question about my Muggle AU Headcanon. I hope it's okay.
Alecto is in the same year as Regulus. She is also in Slytherin.
Born in the 12ve of November of 1997 as well as her twin brother Amycus. They are both Scorpio.
English father and Japanese mother.
Her father belongs to a very important family of businessmen. Went to Hogwarts in his youth and his family is very important and rich.
Her mother is a model and actress. She had had many lead roles in popular Japanese movies and dramas. She is very beautiful. And Alecto always wanted to be just like her.
Pampered by her father as his baby girl. Always receiving expensive gifts from him. But never enough attention.
Pressured by her mother about beauty and the importance of physical appearance. Alecto is constantly taking care of her skin, weight, clothes. Constantly on diets even though she is very skinny. And very beautiful as well.
She appears to be sure of herself but is rather insecure in reality. If she thinks she is not physically perfect, she goes through a crisis.
Alecto and Amycus were constantly alone as kids. Because both of their parents have important jobs and are never around. That brought the both siblings closer.
Alecto has a stronger character and personality than Amycus. She claims she is older than him by seconds. And is constantly bossing her brother around.
She is a massive Britney Spears fan. Also Japanese pop fan. And when she was a kid, she made Amycus make up choreographies to pop, cheesy songs for fun. And even though Amycus said this music was girly, he secretly had fun.
Wants to be a model or actress just like her mother.
When she got to Hogwarts, she easily made friends, while Amycus was shy. So Amycus hang around with a bunch of girls at first. Thing their father didn't like.
Amycus then befriended older boys and both siblings kind of broke apart into their respective friend groups.
Alecto's best friends consists of Dorcas Meadowes, Alice Fortescue and my OC Josephine Bhatt. All of them rich and pretty girls.
Alecto is loud, an extrovert and very funny. Although she is a rich superficial girl for the way she was raised.
Classic mean girl but with actually good intentions. She just says what it is in her mind about people, thing that gets her a lot of enemies. And people think she is superficial and hallow.
Mary and Marlene don't like her. And they are constantly bickering with her. She bickers back.
Alecto had a crush on Sirius Black ever since she met him at eleven. She saw him taking care of his little brother on his first day of class and was immediately in love.
When she found out about his family, his name and who he was, she was even more in love. She always saw him as the man of her dreams. Constantly dreaming about their married lives together. Kind of her only crush through her teens.
Alecto was constantly doing things to gain his attention and she used to call Regulus his: "brother in law". Even though she wasn’t even dating Sirius.
In her fifth year, Sirius’s sixth, he finally noticed her in a party and they snogged for a while.
But Sirius was in a stage of his life that he didn't want anything serious (pun unintended). Although Alecto had already pictured their wedding and chose the name of their children already.
So when Sirius blew her off, she was devastated. Then when Sirius realized he hurt her, he apologized.
After that, they became friends. Sirius liked her because he thought she was genuinely funny and pretty. But everything made sense when she found out Sirius was into Remus. She was supportive even though her heart was broken when the boy of her dreams fell for someone else, specially a boy.
After Sirius, she wanted to be by herself for a while. She took care about herself. And she tried to get her brother back.
I like to think of her as this superficial mean girl that has a character arc and becomes more mature and profound with time.

So Perfect | J.P
Paring: Young!James Potter X Fem!Lupin!Reader
Summary: James falls in love with a bookstore called, Lupin’s Library, and can’t believe what they’re going through.
The bookstore was quiet most days. It was a tiny little two-story shop in London. The idea was it had a book for everyone. On the second story was a living quarter for the two siblings that worked at the shop. It was a small two-bedroom apartment, but it did what it was needed to do.
Remus and Y/n Lupin were the owners of the shop. It was their eighteenth birthday gift from their parents. Growing up, their parents didn’t have much, so for them, it means a lot. The name of the shop was something simple - Lupin’s Library - but inside held memories that they would cherish forever.
When they started the business, it was slow. Most days, no one would enter, and Y/n worked a separate job to help Remus pay the bills. But after a year it seemed that people preferred the shop over any other place in London. They enjoy the warmness of Remus’ smile and the radiant happiness from Y/n.
Remus worked behind the counter at the register, and when there wasn’t a customer, he was reading on the stool he sat on. Y/n did inventory and stocked books. She didn’t like to sit still, preferring to be on her feet moving around. Sometimes early in the morning, she’d grab donuts to leave on the front counter for early customers.
There was nothing like Lupin’s Library, and that’s why people loved it.
The bell-ringing announced a new customer into the shop. It was a tiny ding, nothing majorly loud. Y/n was stocking books while Remus was sleeping upstairs in his room. Over the past winter, he had caught a nasty cold leaving Y/n to take over the bookstore until he got better while also trying to take care of him.
“One moment, and I’ll be with you!” Y/n called as she slipped the last book into place.
She skipped to make it behind the counter where she met a man about her age - twenty-five. He was taller than her, maybe just around six feet. His hair was messy and curled slightly at the ends. His eyes were a beautiful hazel, and he radiated a certain playfulness Y/n could get used to.
“Mornin’ sir!” James was taken away by her light and fluffy accent, “What can I do for you today?”
He smiled, “Looking for something to read for my son.”
“How old is he?”
“He’s about to turn five.” James smiled proudly.
“That’s adorable!” Y/n gushed, “Any way we have magic treehouse books, maybe he’d like those?”
“Maybe, he’s been begging for new books.” James ran a hand through his hair, “It’s the only way I can get him to calm down.”
Y/n smiled, “You know, on Saturdays, I read to kids. If you want him to join us, he’s more than welcome. Saturdays, I read to kids five to nine. Sundays, I read to kids from ten to fifteen.”
“Wow,” James replied, “I’d love to take him in if you don’t mind.”
“Not at all!” She smiled, “Everyone’s welcome.”
James gave a grin in response as he searched the Library for these Magic Treehouse books. It took him five minutes before even finding the kids section, but when he did, James grabbed the set of them. He placed each book on top of another and brought them to the counter of the pretty girl.
He watched at how gently and smoothly she moved the books to scan them. James was so focused he didn’t even notice her handing him the books and the receipt, “But I didn’t-“
“It’s on the house.” Y/n replied, “I’ll see you Saturday.”
James’ face flushed; he hadn’t felt this way since Lily, “I’ll- um- see you Saturday….”
He walked out of the shop with a happy smile placed on his face. James hadn’t felt flustered and nervous around a girl since Lily in seventh grade. He had been head over heels for her since then. They began dating in sophomore year and had Harry right out of high school. It was poor planning on their part, but Harry was everything James had dreamed of. It wasn’t until Harry’s second birthday when Lily said she couldn’t take it anymore.
Not only had it broken James’ heart, but it broke Harry’s too. Harry had no idea where his momma had gone. What broke James’ heart the most was Lily saying she wanted absolutely nothing to do with either of them. Lily had placed the engagement ring on the wooden table, collected her things, and left, just like that.
Then it was just them against the world. James and his little mini-me, as Sirius would say. Sirius was the one who recommended the bookshop. He wouldn’t shut up about how cute the boy behind the register was (“Oh James, his hair looks so fluffy!”). It was like hearing a broken record. James didn’t see the boy with fluffy hair, but he did see the girl with the radiant smile.
That night James sat beside Harry in his twin bed. Harry was thrilled to see the new books on his shelf, and as James began reading, Harry became more hooked with each page. When James shut the book, Harry was devastated. He wanted to know more and finish the book! Alas, he had to go to sleep, and if he did, James promised him that they’d finish the book tomorrow.
When James brought up going to Lupin’s Library on Saturdays, Harry was ecstatic! He couldn’t wait to meet the new kids and begin a new book. By the time Saturday rolled around, they had finished two of the Magic Treehouse books. James entered the shop with Harry in front of him, hands on the little boy's shoulders. Now at the counter, he saw the boy with fluffy hair.
“Good afternoon, sir.” He greeted in the same soft accent, “Here for the kids reading circle?”
Harry nodded, and the boy chuckled, “Great. It’s just in that back corner.”
James thanked him before bringing Harry to the back corner, where kids were already sat on a rug. Blankets were spread among some of them, and the girl was sitting on a chair in the corner while the kids made a semi-circle around her. James beckoned Harry to sit, and James smiled at the girl in the chair.
As the reading began, James decided to venture through the bookstore. The bookshelves were surprisingly clean and rid of any dust. The books were taken care of, not a crease or bent page unless he went into the used section. Some people preferred new books; some preferred used. There truly was a book for everyone in here.
He made his way back to the front desk with some books he had gained from the shelves. A multitude of paperbacks and gently placed them on the counter. Remus put a bookmark in his book and began to scan each book just as smoothly as the girl. His hands didn’t seem as soft. They looked calloused and scarred. Sirius’ type, all the way.
“You wouldn’t happen to see a boy with straight black hair in here sometimes?” Remus quirked an eyebrow, “Wears ripped jeans and a leather jacket?”
Remus smiled, “Yes, we get him in here quite frequently.”
“Do you mind if I got your number for him?” James questioned, “He’s talked the world of you and your bookstore.”
“It’s not just my bookstore.” Remus correctly playfully, “My sister works it with me, who I see you’ve been well acquainted with.”
James’ face flushed pink, “I didn’t- I don’t-“
“It’s fine.” Remus replied, handing him the books and the receipt, “She’s a big girl. I trust her to make her own decisions.”
“I didn’t pay for these.”
“You can thank my sister.” Remus winked as he sat on the stool and began reading.
James grunted at not paying again. He rummaged through his wallet and placed forty pounds in the tip jar. Remus chuckled and shook his head at the gesture, appreciative nonetheless of the man's kindness. Another thirty minutes went by, and Harry was running back into his dad's arms.
“That was awesome!” Harry exclaimed softly, “She was so nice! She gave us lollipops!”
“Did she?” James asked, and Harry nodded.
Y/n smiled softly as she joined Remus behind the counter, grabbing some books to stamp while all the kids filed out to find their parents, “Looks like we’ll be back next Saturday.”
“I’m glad to hear it.” Y/n replied, “I’ll look forward to it.”
Harry smiled, “Thank you!”
“You’re welcome, sweetheart.”
James and Harry walked out of Lupin’s Library together with smiles on their faces. Harry wouldn’t stop jumping with joy the entire day. He couldn’t get over how lovely the lady was and how she gave him a lollipop. Truthfully, it was the little things when it came to kids. Remus chuckled as they left the library together.
“He quite likes you, I’d say.”
“Little kids like anyone who give them candy.”
“I don’t mean the boy.” Remus replied, “I mean the adult who seems quite fond of you.”
Y/n hmphed, “And what about the man who wears the leather jacket and the straight black hair?”
Remus blushed, “‘Oh, Y/n, he’s so perfect.’” Y/n mocked.
“You’re annoying.” Remus nudged her with his elbow.
“Love you too.”
It wasn’t until Wednesday when he came back in again. Y/n had been absent from the shop due to having to help her friend bartend. Despite working at the bookshop full time, she still had a part-time job bartending. If she spent the whole day at the bar, then she spent the entire night at the bookstore. Working two jobs was no easy feat, but she did it.
James walked in and wandered aimlessly after not seeing or hearing her. Remus smiled amusedly as he walked in and continued to read his book. James felt the spines of the books but never plucked one from the shelf. Remus got tired of his lost puppy look and finally called to him.
“She’s not here, you know.”
“Oh,” James muttered, “Where- Where is she?”
Remus placed his book down after bending the corner of the page, “Helping a friend.”
“I’m sorry for wasting your time,” James replied nervously as he went to walk out the door.
“Wait!” Remus called, and James turned, “I can- um- I can give you her schedule if you want.”
“Schedule?” James questioned, “She doesn’t work here full time?”
Remus shook his head, “No, she works part-time at a bar around the block. It helps-“ He scratched the back of his neck, “It helps pay the bills.”
“You guys don’t make enough to stay in business?”
“No, we don’t.” Remus murmured, “I can't really do much else other than work here, so Y/n took up another job. Which she hates, and it drains her.”
James was appalled. These people were so nice and kind. How weren’t they making enough to stay in business? Remus looked utterly embarrassed by the whole thing, confessing to a customer that they were struggling. James, himself, was a Nephrologists at a hospital not too far away. His family was small, and he made a lot of money.
Without another word, James left the shop leaving Remus in a confused state. He walked to an ATM that was only a couple of blocks away before pulling out a decent amount of cash. James walked back into the bookstore and placed an envelope on the counter. Remus stared at it confused as he got on his own two feet to open it. As he peeled back the seal, he saw what was inside.
“I’m sorry, I can’t-“
“Please.” James begged, “Harry would be devastated if his favorite place went out of business.”
Remus had tears in his eyes as he placed the money beneath the counter, “Thank you. You have no idea what this means. Our parents bought this shop with almost nothing, and we’ve been trying, but it’s so hard.”
“Well,” James began, “I don’t know if I could live with myself if this place was gone, especially after knowing you’re guys’ kindness.”
Remus smiled and grabbed a piece of paper with a calendar on it. At the bottom, he wrote his and Y/n’s names along with their phone numbers. His handwriting was tidy and curvy. Remus handed the piece of paper to him, and James took it gratefully.
“It’s Y/n’s schedule along with her part-time bartending job. Our numbers are at the bottom.” Remus motioned to the calendar and at the numbers on the bottom.
“Thank you, Remus.” James smiled as he pulled out a business card from his wallet, “Obviously, you don’t need me to be your doctor, but my number is on the card if either of you needs anything.”
Remus took the two cards gently, “Thank you, James. We really won’t forget this.”
“I’m glad.” James smiled, “Because I won’t forget you two.”
He left the bookstore with a skip in his step. It felt good to do that. James hadn’t felt this happy since Harry was born, but now he felt like himself again. He felt like that energized boy from middle school who was always destined to be great.
James didn’t know what it was like to be poor. He grew up with his parents being doctors. They made decent money, and James always got what he wanted. They lived with the higher class. It made his heart ache that Remus and Y/n, who were so sweet we’re struggling. He couldn’t take it. He had to do something. It felt good to do that something.
Around the block was a bar called Whiskey Woes. It was old and rugged-looking. The black stone bricks seemed to be cracking in every spot. It made James grimace. Walking inside was even worse. The pungent smell of older men with no taste for cologne made him scrunch his nose. But behind the counter, he saw an exhausted girl who was giving it her all to get tips.
James made his way to sit on a barstool, and sluggishly Y/n made her way to him, “Good afternoon, sir! What can I getcha today?”
“A glass of water?” James replied, lifting his head, and Y/n let out a visible sigh of relief, “‘Course.”
A minute of running around the bar later, a glass of water was placed in front of him, “How’s work, Y/n?”
“How’d you find out my name?”
“Well, your name tag says it.” James pointed, “And I went by the bookstore today.”
Y/n hummed, “Remus tell you where I work, huh?”
“Yeah.” James replied, stirring his water with his straw, “And I want you to quit.”
“Excuse me?”
“I want you to quit working at this shithole.” James repeated, “And take this.”
Another envelope was passed to her across the bar. Y/n eyed him as she broke the glued seal on the white paper. Inside she saw cash, and it didn’t look like just a tiny amount either. Y/n’s face showed visible shock, and James smiled sheepishly.
“Consider it a tip.”
“This is more than a tip.” Y/n chuckled, “This is like three of my yearly salaries.”
James’ smile faltered just a tiny bit, “You don’t belong here. You belong at the bookstore with Remus. You don’t seem happy here, and Remus sees it too. Says you come home exhausted and drained.”
“Is there anything I can do to repay you?”
“Maybe go on a date with me?”
Y/n blushed, “A date?”
“Yeah, a date.” James muttered.
“I think you deserve a lot more than a date.” Y/n replied, and James smirked, “Only if you’ll let me.”
She laughed, and it made his stomach flutter. It was a sound he wanted to hear forever. It made his heart flip and the corners of his lips quirk. The way she tilted her head back and how her hair flowed as she did so—the crinkle of her nose and the creases of her eyes as she shut them tightly.
She was so perfect.

Take a chance on me
Summary: Sirius has been asking you out for about two years and he suddenly decides that the best way to woo you is to serenade you. (listen to the song if you can!)
Tumblr media
James Potter and Sirius Black were like brothers, that’s what everyone has said since the first time they came to Hogwarts. They did everything together and were often the same person, like scary twins, what you didn’t think was going to happen is for Sirius and James to both be obsessed with one girl and going after her relentlessly. James had been trying to get Lily Evans to date him since third year and Sirius started asking me out in fourth year. Now you may ask how did I ever get the attention of Sirius Black, well he asked my friend Lucy on a date and then decided to leave her standing there in the cold, so I went to rip him a new one and since then he is apparently in love with me.
The guy is a player so of course I don’t believe him, but I have to give it to him the guy is determined, we are now in sixth year, and he is still asking me. He is quite cocky, but I have seen him be kind and considerate, so it’s difficult to make the difference. But back to what I was saying, if Potter is asking Evans out, Black isn’t far away.
Breakfast was quiet and everyone was enjoying the calmness of it before the big storm that are the Marauders all came in laughing and making too much noise for a Saturday morning. I was hoping that they were just going to sit down and eat but of course that would be too good. Next thing we know Sirius Black is on the Gryffindor table.
“Everyone! Can I get your attention?”, all the students in the Great Hall turn to look at him and Professor McGonagall looks like she didn’t sleep at all, which with these four is certainly possible.
“Now, we all know that the Yule Ball is in two weeks and even after asking 15 times, was it 15 times Moony?”, Remus looks done with him but still answers.
“It was twenty times Padfoot.”, Sirius gives him a bright grin before turning to the students with a sad smile, that looked incredibly fake.
“I was rejected twenty times, and I think I finally know why darling.”, Sirius is looking right at me, and I feel my cheeks getting redder by the second, this man really has no limits.
“You wanted to be serenaded!”, he exclaims it for everyone like he just found the solution to every problem in the universe.
I start shaking my head no but Sirius nods solemnly.
“Don’t worry I know you, so this is for you.”, my friends are laughing next to me, but they send me sympathetic smiles.
James hits a button on a machine, and the Marauders join Sirius on the table, to all strike a pose before starting to sing.
If you change your mind I'm the first in line Honey, I'm still free Take a chance on me
If you need me, let me know Gonna be around If you've got no place to go When you're feeling down
My mouth drops just like the rest of the students of Hogwarts and the Marauders continue to sing with Sirius starting to walk the whole Gryffindor table.
If you're all alone When the pretty birds have flown Honey, I'm still free Take a chance on me Gonna do my very best And it ain't no lie If you put me to the test If you let me try
Take a chance on me That's all I ask of you, honey Take a chance on me
The Gryffindors all join the Marauders and sing the chorus, the rest of the Marauders friend group like Marlene and Dorcas join them on the table.
We can go dancing (oh) We can go walking (yeah) As long as we're together (long as we're together) Listen to some music (oh) Maybe just talking (yeah) Get to know you better (get to know you better)
Sirius points to James and he starts singing the next part while spinning Remus who is laughing at his friends’ antics, and I can’t help but smile.
'Cause you know I've got So much that I wanna do When I dream I'm alone with you, it's magic You want me to leave it there Afraid of a love affair, but I think you know That I can't let go
Remus grins and sends me a sorry smile before singing the next part with Peter while pointing towards me.
If you change your mind I'm the first in line Honey, I'm still free Take a chance on me If you need me, let me know Gonna be around If you've got no place to go When you're feeling down
Sirius jumps of the Gryffindor table while the rest of his house starts going on the table to sing and dance. Sirius takes pink heart glasses from his pocket and starts to dance around the Professor’s table and starts singing again while looking at me.
If you're all alone When the pretty birds have flown Honey, I'm still free Take a chance on me Gonna do my very best And it ain't no lie If you put me to the test
The rest of the houses also start singing to the song and I feel my cheeks burn from the attention.
Oh, you can take your time, baby (oh) I'm in no hurry (yeah) Know I'm gonna get you (know I'm gonna get you) You don't wanna hurt me (oh) Baby, don't worry (yeah) I ain't gonna let you (I ain't gonna let you)
Let me tell you now My love is strong enough To last when things are rough, it's magic You say that I waste my time But I can't get you off my mind, no, I can't let go 'Cause I love you so
Sirius is now in front of me and takes my hand while giving me a blinding smile, the pink sunglasses are in his hair, and he looks at me like he is trying to make me understand his love for me.
The Marauders continue to sing the song with the rest of the Great Hall, and I think that I even hear the Professors join in. They must be near the end of the song, but I can’t tell as I look into Sirius’s grey eyes and his loving smile. He then starts to sing again, the last lyrics of the songs while climbing the table to sit next to me.
Honey, I'm still free Take a chance on me Gonna do my very best Baby, can't you see Gotta put me to the test Take a chance on me
He sings it while looking me right in my eyes and as he finishes the last line, he puts the pink sunglasses on my head and gives me a bright, hopeful smile.
The Great Hall has erupted in cheers, and I can see in the corner of my eyes James picking up another pair of heart-shaped sunglasses and putting them on Remus’s face. Everyone is talking around us, and Sirius takes the opportunity to come closer to me and he suddenly looks nervous.
“I know you may think I’m not serious about you, no pun intended.”, he chuckles at his own joke, and I let out a small laugh while feeling emotional after all this.
“But I can’t stop thinking about you, every day I think of you. So, I wanted to show you how much I care for you and ask you if you would take a chance on me?”, my breath hitches at his words and I feel the butterflies flutter in my stomach and the only thing I can think about is him and how much I care about him.
“You are an idiot Sirius Black.”, he looks at me confused before starting to look sad, but I stop him by taking his tie and bringing him closer.
“But you’re my idiot.”, I just have time to see Sirius smile before kissing him. The feeling of his lips against mine is indescribable and I feel at home in his arms as he brings me closer to him with his arm around my waist and his other hand holding my cheek.
I hear cheers and catcalls in the distance, but I can only think of Sirius and the feeling of him and the smell of his cologne and cigarettes.
“Alright you two as cute as you both are, quit it, there are still children here!”, Sirius breaks off the kiss but still kisses me softly before turning to James and sticking his tongue out to him like a child.
Sirius then turns to look at me and a soft smile takes over his features.
“So, are you free this afternoon for a date?”
“I am definitely free.”, Sirius’s smile gets even bigger before kissing me shortly on the lips.
“Can’t wait, I will give you the best date of your life beautiful.”, I laugh softly at that and put the heart-shaped glasses back in place on his nose.
“We will see about that. Now go eat breakfast Romeo.”, we are both smiling at each other like idiots before Sirius kisses my cheek and leaves to go eat with his friends.
“Bye beautiful.”, I blush at his smirk, and he winks while leaving to the Gryffindor table where James is placing an enormous number of pancakes on his plate.
Dumbledore suddenly gets up and smiles at all of us but particularly to the Marauders.
“After quite a show, I have to say congratulations to mister Black for finally being able to woo miss Y/L/N, it was impressive.”, Sirius has a large grin on his face, and he looks incredibly proud.
“Now I hope that this is the last time that this happens because it shouldn’t become a daily occurrence, mister Potter remember that.”, James has a mouth full of pancakes but still manages to look offended while Sirius, Remus and Peter are laughing hard.
“Enjoy your weekend everybody, you deserve it.”, a lot of students start to get out of their seats and my friends start to talk about what just happened.
I catch Sirius’s gaze and he sends me a wink before starting to talk to his friends and I can’t wait to see what he has in store for us this afternoon.

I love you, mum
Remus Lupin x Reader
Requested - Noppe
Summary - Remus Lupin was the love of your life, right? You thought so, that was, until he came home from an order mission finding you pregnant and hating it with his entire being. Can you handle that?
Trigger Warning - cursing, mentions of abortion, mentions of pregnancy, rude as hell Remus.
This one is kinda lengthy, so, fairwarning. I'ma make it a series, so, Part 1!
There he stood, right before you, his bag packed as your eyes watered. "I know 'm love, but you know how the order is. I don't get to pick when I go." He took you into his arms, his hand immediately running through your hair.
You both were 24 now, honestly surprised with the way time had flown by even with the pending war surrounding you. He, James, and Sirius were going to investigate a lead, one that involved the fourth member of their family from Hogwarts, Peter.
The night Peter was trusted with James, Lily, and Harry's lives, Voldemort had shown up, prepared to murder them in cold blood. The only thing stopping him that night was that you, Remus, and Sirius paid a surprise visit to your favorite new family, wanting Harry to experience a Halloween as normal as you all could make it.
Harry had been zooming through on his broom in his Kinmare Kestrels costume, the five of you cheering him on as if he was in the middle of a quidditch game himself. Voldemort had made himself known quite quickly, assuming the three of them were on their own, but was met with a small army, prepared to protect your family.
Now, Remus was leaving to go find Peter, along with looking into how deep his dedicated now lied with the monster attempting to rule your world.
"I'm going to be back before you know it. I'll be nice and safe, and I'll be home after this months turn, so we won't even have to worry about that when I come home." You nodded, but teared up at that.
"But, who'll patch you up and kiss all your bruises?" You asked softly, pushing back some of his hair to gaze into his eyes. "'M sure James and Sirius will be more than happy to help me out like they used to, although I don't think either will kiss the bruises - not that I'd want them to." He grimaced at the thought of one of his two best friends kissing each healing wound on his skin after a horrible night of turning.
"Just, come back safe, okay? Don't do anything stupid, don't let Sirius talk you into doing something irrational, don't let James cry too much about Lily and Harry either, please. I can't even imagine how they're doing. Just come back safe to me." You kissed him softly, pulling him closer to your body, only wrapped in a robe, holding him as close to you as you could.
"Of course sweets. You be safe too, go see Lily and Harry, go see Molly and the kids, don't stay cooped up in here missing me. I'm sure Molly would love to bake with you and I'm sure Lily would be more than happy to eat at much as she can, especially now that we all know she's pregnant again." He laughed softly, kissing your forehead.
"Okay, okay, go, before I lock you in the house and break your wand so you can't leave." He chuckled, wiping a few stray tears from your face as he kissed you one last time before moving to leave the comfort of the home the two of you built together.
Five minutes without him had you sobbing and feeling empty.
Six days without him had you throwing up.
Two weeks without him had you taking a pregnancy test.
Two weeks and three minutes without him had you sobbing as the plus sign on the test.
Three weeks without him had you hiding it from your best friend.
Four weeks without him had you looking for the baggiest of his sweaters and wishing he would finally come home.
Five weeks without him had you shaking in fear, fear of your growing stomach and fear of the second turn he would be fulfilling away from home.
Six weeks without him had you going to the appointment without him, without anyone knowing.
Six weeks and two days without him had you sobbing.
Six weeks, two days, and thirty four minutes had you screaming in joy as you wrapped your arms and legs around his warm hold, clutching onto him with dear life.
"Remus John Lupin!" You yelled, tears falling harder as you felt the worries of him being dead in a hole left your shoulders.
"Oh my sweet love, I've got you, yeah? I've finally got you." He whispered. Your arms were tight on his frame, holding him like you were afraid this was a dream, for him to fade away and leave you once more.
He had walked you to your bed, sitting on it with you set in his arms, his nose sniffing your hair, letting your scent calm him and moony. "Oh my girl, I've missed you so much." He whispered, your tears finally slowing. "I've missed you, bubs." You whispered, your eyes meeting his to press your lips upon his, holding his face close to yours.
Silence filled the room, his hands wandering your skin, making sure each inch of it was the same as he remembered. He didn't falter, until his hands slipped under his sweater, feeling the bump under his hands.
"The fuck?" He whispered, pulling away from you. "What's going on?" He asked you, his eyes sharp on your own.
"Um." You said, your head falling and you stared at your hands. "'M pregnant, Moons." You whispered, moving off of his lap to lift up the warm fabric, showing him your bump. "Twins." You said softly, looking up into his eyes.
"You're joking." He said, his voice void of emotion, it staying the same pitch with each syllable.
"Does it look like I'm joking? You're staring at the bump. I haven't told anyone, waiting for you to get home." You were waiting for a smile to break out on his face, for his eyes to light up, for him to wrap you in his arms once more and spin you and gently as he could before bending down and kissing your belly once - twice - three times.
But, it didn't happen.
Two minutes after he knew had you silent.
Three minutes after he knew had you shuffling back from foot to foot.
Four minutes after he knew had your eyes welling up with tears.
Five minutes after he knew had you breaking the silence, your voice louder than expected.
"Say something, Rem!" You yelled, flinching at the sound of your own tone.
"I - uh." He said, one of his hands moving down his face to attempt to shake the shock from it. "No." He said after another moment, standing up and moving across the room.
"No, we aren't having a kid, let alone two! No!" He paced back and forth, shaking his head. "No way. We're gonna have to figure something else out." He spoke, stopping to think, his face pointing up at the sky. "I'm sure there's something we can do to fix this." He said, finally turning to look at you.
"Fix this? There is nothing to fix, you prick!" You yelled, tears falling once more, but for a much different reason. "I'm fucking pregnant, this isn't something you fix!"
His eyes grew angry, glaring at you like never before. "You know how I feel about having kids! No!" He shouted, his tone matching yours.
"Fuck you." You whispered, shaking your head. You picked your wand up from your bedside table, flicking it once before a suitcase appeared and clothes began filling into it.
"What are you doing?" He asked, his voice monotoned once more.
"Leaving." You spoke the word, shivering at the idea of it. But, once the bag was packed, your hand wrapped around it's handle, you quickly turned on your heel, unsure of apparating out of the flat while pregnant.
"Where are you going?" His voice was slightly softer now, the actions of the moment catching up to him.
Before exiting the place you called home, more so, leaving the person you called home, you whispered. "I dunno."
Your wand was held out, summoning the Knight Bus, letting you onto it and paying the fee before looking at the man before you.
"Where to?" He asked, his left eyebrow raised at you.
You didn't think you could go to Lily and James, not wanting to face Lily's wrath towards Remus along with her hurt for not knowing about your pregnancy. You couldn't turn to Sirius, knowing he would hate his best friend in a way you could never want for the man you loved.
"The burrow, please."
The bus took you there after dropping off the two people before you, assisting you with your bag to the front door before disappearing.
Your hand shook as you knocked, but heard the pitter patter of the feet of her many children before a yell from the woman herself. "I don't know who's at the door! Charlie can you please change Ginny!"
The door flung open, revealing the woman to you. "Oh! Y/n!" She spoke, her face breaking out into a warm, wonderful smile before letting you in. "I haven't seen you for a little while, I was about to send an owl your way." She said, leading you into the home and back into the kitchen where the smell of Mince Pies filled your nose.
"'M sorry, Molly. A lots happened."
With tears in your eyes, you stood before Molly, the woman you saw as your own mother. The woman who celebrated with you when Remus asked you out. The woman who held you when you cried after your first argument with the man. The woman you had planned to tell about your pregnancy, but feeling your heart break each day you waited to tell her.
You had it all planned out. You were going to show up with Remus, once he found out and the two of you celebrated, wearing a sweater that covered your bump - much like the one you still wore. You would be holding two bags, one for each of the parents you loved so much, with a shirt for them both with the words "first time grandparent" on it.
But now, you had to tell this woman that you had kept your pregnancy from her for this long, your spouse had practically told you to get rid of the babies, and that you had left him.
"Molly, I'm pregnant." You whispered, pulling his sweater up to show the adamant bump. "And Remus wants me to get rid of them, so I left him." Your voice was breaking, shaking, and terrified of what you were to do now.
Her eyes filled with tears of her own, her arms wrapping around your frame and holding you to her. Molly Weasley: Best Hugs. She held you for a minute, letting your sobs fall from your body, holding your shaking frame. Once you calmed down as much as she thought you would, she sat you down on the kitchen chairs.
"Oh, sweet girl. I'm so sorry." Her wand flicked, bringing you a warm cup of tea before she settled in the seat beside you. "You're more than welcome to stay here. We can move Charlie in with Bill and you can take his room. You know you're more than welcome to." Her voice was soft and sincere, looking at you with the look you wished your fiance had looked at you with. Her hand reached to tuck a stray piece of hair behind your ear before moving it down to press softly against your growing stomach.
"Molly, you know I can't do that. I wouldn't want to put Charlie out of his room. Plus, I'm going to be getting bigger and eating more soon, I don't want to be in the way." You explained, watching as she shook her head. "In no way would you be in the way. Plus, I'd love to be here with you through this!" She exclaimed, taking your hand in hers.
"Honestly, Molly, I don't want him to find me." You admitted softly, your heart hurting at the truth. You hated how he had talked to you, how easily it was for him to suggest he "took care of it". It hurt you to your core. He was the man you thought would stand beside you through everything. Through the fears of financial trouble, through the happiness of your own home, through your pregnancy. But now, you were all alone. Your soul felt cold, the warmth he provided now long gone, leaving a feeling as cold as the harshest winter in it's place.
"Oh, honey, I understand." She said softly, nodding.
After another minute or two with the wonderful woman, you looked at her. "Molly, could I use some parchment and a quill? And your owl? I wanna write to Lily." You said softly, hating to intrude, but knowing that with one person told, that would soon turn into two, then 9, then everyone else you could imagine.
"Of course love! Of course! Bill, bring me some parchment and a quill please, y/n needs it!"
Bill soon came in, hanging you the items you requested before rushing back outside to play with his siblings. "You can go sit in the living room and write, okay?" She pushed back your hair, smiling at you before allowing you to walk off, going to write a letter for James and Lily, along with one for Sirius.
Your hand was shaking as you pondered what to write to your best friends. How do you explain that you're pregnant with their best friend's kids, that he doesn't want them, and that you've left him, all in the same day that they got home?
You set your fears aside and wrote to your best friends, letting everything out that you could.
Dear Lily and James
I'm so glad you're safe, James, I was so incredibly worried. I'm so happy you're back home with Lily and Harry.
You guys might be wondering why I'm not using our owl, that's actually what I was writing you about. I left Remus. Before you're freaking out and such, I'm also pregnant. He wanted me to "take care of it". His words, not mine.
It's twins. I don't know the genders yet, but I'm 6 weeks along. Absolutely huge though. That's a lie, I just feel huge. I can still wear one of his sweaters to cover the bump. I'm so sorry I didn't tell you, Lils. I wanted to wait until Rem got home and us be able to tell you both together. Don't worry, I'm writing Sirius about it too.
I don't know where I'm gonna stay, if I'm being honest with you. I'm at Molly's right now, but I'm not staying long. I'm not staying at yours either - especially not with you pregnant too Lily, and with Harry. I can't do that to you guys. Plus, like I told Molly, I don't want Remus to know where I am.
I know that might seem wrong, but he wants me to get rid of them. I can't ever do that. They are apart of me, apart of us both. I'm growing these two precious beings that are half of us and full of our love - well, my love. How am I supposed to look him in the eyes and see him hate me as I grow our kids.
I'll write you both after I'm settled somewhere, but this will be my only letter until then. I love you both so, so much. Give Harry a kiss from me.
You folded the letter up and wrote one quite similar to Sirius before tying them to Errol and sending him off to your three best friends.
You stood and waddled back to find Molly with Fred and George outside, scolding them for attempting to get Ron to fly on their broom and hit the Bludger before it hit him.
"This is what I have to look forward to, huh?" You asked, a light smile on your face.
"Oh yeah, they're twice the trouble." She laughed, smiling. Fred and George smiled at that, proud to have caused Mischief in their family. "But they give you twice the love." She spoke, watching as they ran off while their mother was distracted.
The two off you walked towards the house once more, talking. "Did you decide what you want to do?" She asked finally, looking at you.
"I'm going to the states. I have some family there that I want to go visit, one with a guest house that I can stay in. I owled to them when I sent Lily and James one." You stood before her, tears welling up.
"You better come see me all the time still, send me pictures of you growing. Send me the address so we can come see you, especially in America! Don't let me go without seeing you growing my grandbabies." You nodded, wrapping her up in your hold.
"I won't, I swear. I'll send you so many owls, you're gonna think I am living with you." She kissed your temple, holding your cheeks.
"Okay, I put your bag upstairs in Bill's room, just as a precaution. Do you want me to go get it or-" she was cut off with a frantic knock, the hits not stopping.
"I'll go get it, that sounds urgent." You both laughed softly, your swollen feet carrying you up the stairs and to Bill's room, grabbing your suitcase before heading down the stairs.
"Molly, where is she. I just want to see her." You heard Lily speak, her voice hurried.
"Sirius, let me go! She's in there, I know she is!" Remus yelled, his voice carrying up the stairs.
"Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit." You mumbled, looking around the stairs for some kind of hidden passage. It's a wizard and witch house, how is there not a hidden passage?" You reached for your wand, your eyes squeezing shut as you realized you set it down to write to your friends.
"Stop it! All four of you!" Molly yelled, her voice sharp. "There is a woman in my home who is pregnant and does not need this kind of stress. Now, I will ask her if and who she would like to see."
While she was speaking, you creeped down the rest of the stairs and slipped into the living room, grasping your wand.
"Worse than my own kids, I swear." You heard her mumble before walking towards the living room. "Y/n, dear? I'm sure you've heard them by now but the boys and Lily -" she cut herself off, her eyes finding you holding your wand and suitcase, your eyes welled up with tears and your lip between your teeth.
"I love you, Mum." You whispered, before clutching your belly in protection with your arm holding your suitcase, apparating from the warm home.

-The Summer Before 7th Year, July 20th, 2am-
Sweat hung on your brow. The images of The Daily Prophet flashed across your mind.
VOLDEMORT, what's the ministry doing about him?
NEWLY GRADUATED MUGGLEBORN FOUND DEAD
WEREWOLVES: the biggest threat?
You were so fucking tired of the war. You were so tired of waking up every night, scared to death of the possibilities the war entails. You didn't know how you would deal when you left Hogwarts and fully joined the order. You knew your parents shielded you and James, but they could only do that for so long.
Grabbing the blanket on the floor and pulling it around your shoulders, you left to the kitchen for some comfort.
It seemed a certain dark-haired boy had the same idea as you. Sitting on the counter with a small tart was Sirius Black.
He didn't look like his usual bright-eyed self. He looked as tired as you felt. A twinge of sadness pricked your heart. He was thinking about headlines, too.
BLACK HIER, REGULUS BLACK, PRESUMED DEAD
You stepped into the kitchen as he glanced up at you. His face changed immediately to a teasing smile, "Fancy seeing you here, Potter."
You scoffed and jumped up next to him, snatching the tart from his hand.
"Bad dreams," you mumbled with the tart in your mouth, "What about you?"
"Same." His smile dropped a bit. He was thinking far too much for his own good. He turned back to you, "But none as bad as having my midnight snack so rudely stolen."
You laughed lightly, passing the tart back. You sat in silence for a moment, both not knowing what to say.
You had talked to him before, of course. He was your twin brother's best friend and your fellow marauder, but you mostly stuck with Remus and James.
You had limited times where you had been alone together. Mostly because James was protective and didn't trust Sirius around you much. You thought that James and Sirius both overplayed the idea that Sirius was something of a man-whore. He went out on lots of dates and flirted, yes, but he wasn't one to take advantage of any partners.
Maybe you were just biased, not wanting to believe he was a playboy. You'd formed a bit of a crush over the years, but it was pushed to the back of your mind. Too much going on with the war and too many obstacles, most being that he was your brother's best friend. Not to mention it would ruin the dynamic of the Marauders, especially if things went south.
You looked over at the boy. He was staring back at you with a goofy smile, though his eyes did not match.
"You don't have to pretend, you know," you started "You are allowed to be upset."
You didn't mention what you were talking about exactly, you left it up to him to tell you his thoughts.
The 2am fog must have let him be so vulnerable around you when he said "I can't be. He was a death eater and he wasn't my brother anymore."
"Yes, he was. You know he was." You looked him in the eyes, "He was just a boy and he didn't know what else to do. I don't blame him for his actions and neither should you."
"Oh, but I have to y/n. In everyone else's eyes, he is the bad guy and we-" he paused, "we have to be the heroes and I have to hate him for what he did"
"There was no choice for him and there is no choice for us. You said it yourself, we have to be heroes. But you don't have to hate him. When have you ever followed what other people think?" You huffed, "Screw that, Black. He's your brother and I'll be damned if l let you hate him."
He smiled, his eyes a little brighter than before, "I knew you were my favorite Potter for a reason"
"Well apart from my dashing good looks, what is the reason?" you smiled back.
"You always know what to say," he said sincerely.
You decided to take a chance, your late-night brain not letting you think properly, "Am I really your favorite. I mean, James is your best friend."
"Yup" he took a bite of the tart, "James is my best friend and fun to be around, but I prefer talking to you."
"But James rarely lets us talk alone. Which is your fault, by the way, he'd let us talk if you stopped being such a whore"
He made his face look fake offended, bringing a hand to his chest, "I am not a whore and that's not why James doesn't leave us alone. Or it's half of why James doesn't leave us alone."
"Okay, then what's your grand my explanation for my brother's behavior."
"Well, Potter, about 3 years ago I fell for those dashing good looks and made the mistake of telling dear Prongs." he looked nearly nervous, Sirius Black, nervous around a girl he'd known all his life. "And I guess my history with partners didn't enforce his enthusiasm."
"He doesn't let you talk to me because you had a little crush in fourth year." you laughed, but your heart was pounding. He had liked you! Keyword: had.
"He doesn't let me talk to you because I still have a crush on you" He glanced up to look at you, "Probably a bit more than a crush, if we're being honest."
"I think that you're just tired and don't know what you're talking about" you gave a short smile. "But I have a bit more than a crush on you, too"
"You know, James would absolutely flip if I kissed you right now" he turned his head towards you. You were suddenly aware of how close you were sitting.
"Well, we wouldn't want that to happen, would we?" you leaned in slightly.
"Oh no, we could never." he glanced down at your lips. You were nearly kissing, it was just teasing at this point.
"We shouldn't" you mumbled
"You wouldn't be here if you didn't want to"
And that was it. You weren't sure who actually started it but you were grasping at his already messy hair and his hands moved up your waist. The shared tart long forgotten.
When you pulled away, you felt him smirk into your lips, "He's gonna kill us."
"He's gonna kill you." you corrected and pecked his lips once more.
"Do we have to tell him immediately?"
"Depends," you pulled back further, looking at him "What exactly would we be telling him."
He considered for a moment before pulling you back to him, "That you're my (girlfriend/boyfriend/partner), obviously"
"I don't remember agreeing to that."
"Do you need more convincing, I'm happy to oblige"
"Maybe," you said as he leaned in again.

“Living Happily - A Wolfstar One Shot”
TW - physical assault, blood, discrimination, abusive family, homophobia and transphobia.
“Fuck!” Remus shouted as he threw the letter across the room.
“Remus!” Sirius said bouncing a baby Harry on his lap. “He’s starting to repeat things now, you need to be careful.”
“Another rejection! Because of ‘who I am and how I choose live’. I didn’t choose all this! Why are people like this?”
“They just don’t understand you, and that scares them.”
“It’s a good thing your family is so wealthy, we’d be on the street without that money.”
“But we’re not, and never will be. Hopefully I’ll hear back from the Ministry soon, and then you will get a job and we will be living happily.”
“Moo Moo.” Harry said reaching in Remus’ direction. Whenever Remus was down, all he had to do was look at Harry’s face, not only would he see the cute little boy, but also two of his best friends. He was identical to James, but he had Lily’s eyes. Keeping Harry safe was something that kept Remus going, providing for Harry the way his parents did.
The next day, Remus woke up early and went to the muggle shop down the street to get a few things. On the way back, he heard some whispers down an alleyway, he kept his head down and tried to continue home, but then the group of men charged out and tackled Remus to the ground. He knocked his head hard on the ground which winded him. As he gasped for air, he was beaten up by the men for what seemed like forever. Punch after punch, and kick after kick. After they were finally done, one of them spat on Remus and said: “Fucking disgrace”. They walked off like it was nothing.
Remus could barely find the strength to stand. He slipped on the milk which had burst out of the carton, falling once again to the floor, face first. His face was dripping blood as his nose had just broke. He limped his way back home, it wasn’t far but his weakness caused him to take a lot longer than it should, holding onto lamp posts, bus shelters and walls for support.
Sirius was in the kitchen feeding Harry when he heard the door open.
“Hey, Rem. Shop alright?” He looked over and his smile quickly faded as he saw his boyfriend bloodied and bruised.
“Holy fuck! Sit down.” After Sirius’ abuse from his mother, he knew something about healing. He sat down by Remus and started cleaning his wounds, wiping away the blood and healing him.
“What was it about this time?”
“I don’t know.”
“Was it muggles or wizards?”
“I don’t know, barely got a look at them.”
“This is why I tell you to take your wand with you!”
There was many reasons Remus could be a ‘fucking disgrace’, he was a half-blood, bisexual, dating a boy from the Black family, a werewolf and a transgender man.
Remus had been at war with his gender for as long as he knew. His parents always supported him, but they all knew it would put another target on his back. When his friends found out at school, about everything, they couldn’t have been happier for him. Sirius would help him bind his chest, James would be like his Mum telling him to take his hormone potions and Lily would always sneak him menstrual products. Whenever he tried out a new name they would always respect him and correct others, and when he decided on ‘Remus’, Sirius gave him the money to legally change it.
“Moo Moo okay?” Harry asked from his high chair.
“I’m just a little bit hurt.” Remus said.
“A little?! Remus you look like hell.”
“Thanks babe.”
When Sirius was done healing Remus, Harry lay on the sofa, cuddled up next to Remus and fell asleep, softly snoring. He looked at Harry’s little round face, he was so young and innocent, it only strengthened the part in Remus that made him want to protect him.
A thud by the window told them that the owl had just dropped off the post. There was today’s Prophet and a letter for Sirius.
“It’s from the Ministry!” Sirius said excitedly. As he read the letter, it was evident from his facial expression that it wasn’t good news.
“Dear Mr. Black,” he read aloud “We regret to inform you that your application for the muggle relations internship has been rejected. We think that given your family’s history, it would make muggles and muggle-borns feel unwelcome and unsafe.”
“That’s fu-, I mean, that’s messed up, Pads.”
“I always thought my family would haunt me, but I didn’t think it would be like this.” He said, collapsing on the armchair.
“Well, that’s another point for Team Gets-Rejected-For-Things-We-Didn’t-Choose.” Remus said “What jobs are going in the Prophet?”
“Not much, shop workers, DADA professor, and-“ Sirius’ grey eyes were fixed on one point.
“What? What did you see?”
“A position for a Healer at St. Mungo’s.”
“Well, you’re great at healing me, I reckon you go for it.”
“What about you?” He said tossing the paper at Remus. “Anything you like the look of?”
He scanned the section “The Ministry want someone to mange the werewolf registry.”
“Perfect, I reckon.”
“Perfect” Harry repeated, waking up from his brief sleep.
They sent their owls with the applications a few hours later, and sent a third one to put Harry in a day care. They both got owls of acceptance a few weeks later. Sirius started to change the implications associated with the Black name. For the first time since it’s inception, the werewolf registry was finally in order, and due to Remus’ seat of power, werewolf rights were finally on the rise.
Sirius and Remus adored Harry, but they had wanted their own biological children since their time in Hogwarts. Neither were getting younger, but they had to hold off until their jobs were stable.
“Someday, we will have a our little family.” They would say to each other “We don’t need another Sirius though.” Remus would add on. Their dreams were realised a couple years later when Remus gave birth to a set of fraternal twins they called James and Lily.
Over the years, they had experienced so much hate because their sexualities, Sirius’ family, Remus’ gender and lycanthropy, but the Lupin-Black household couldn’t even think about that when they finally had the family they had wanted since they were 15, fantasising in Gryffindor tower, smoking by the open window or curled up together on one of the tiny four poster beds. They were finally living happily.

don't shut me down
(idea by me, slightly inspired by the genius way of putting it down of @enbysiriusblack)
remus fiddled with the keys as he opened the apartment, sirius leaning in the doorway.
"will you let me standing in the hall, or let me enter?"
the other man rolled his eyes. "clearly you haven't lost that charm of yours, have you?" he asked, holding the door opened.
sirius smiled to remus and made his way inside, and the first thing he noticed was that nothing was changed.
the kitchen counter still had the note that sirius left on halloween, moments, maybe hours, right before everything fell apart.
"go have a look around?" remus suggested.
the other man didn't realize how fast they made their way to their bedroom, which was intact. the posters of bowie, led zeppelin, queen and all of the bands the marauders had ever hyperfixated on were there.
sirius opened the closet and noticed that sirius' guitar was still at the bottom of it, along with some clothes, both remus and sirius' and a box of, sirius opened it, pictures of younger them, when everything was simpler and lovelier.
"back to the closet, are you not?" remus cocked a brow, standing in the doorway, a cheeky grin on his face.
they chuckled.
"coffee?" he asked. "one sugar, no milk."
sirius nodded and remus left sirius, who got up and followed remus to the kitchen.
"the apartment hasn't changed at all, i've got to say i'm glad, but how come you haven't gotten rid of anything?"
"well, i haven't lived a while here, first of all. it hurt too much." remus admitted. "but what could stay here stayed, and i took the rest of the stuff with me. i put it back when dumbledore told me you were coming. but i've kept everything. i couldn't bring myself to throw any of them away."
and forget you.
"gents, starting a new life, aren't we?" james asked, patting his friends' shoulder. "and i think it's also a good time to tell you that me and lily are going to get married."
"what??" remus shouted. "are you serious???"
"no, remus, i've told you a billion times, i am james." he grinned, and everyone laughed at the on-going joke that never seemed to end.
forget all of you.
"they wanted to get married, remus." sirius forced back a sob. "and the twins... molly... molly doesn't know yet."
"i know. it's gonna be fine, i promise." remus hushed sirius.
"HOW CAN YOU SAY IT'S GOING TO BE FINE?" a sob ripped through their chest. "it's not gonna be fucking fine, remus- FUCKING DUMBLEDORE!"
and when the time comes and you appear in my dreams, i won't remember any of you.
they've went into hiding." sirius whispered , their voice hoarse. "they won't come back, remus." a tear rolled down their cheek.
"alcohol is not going to fix your problems, sirius." remus snapped, looking up to his lover from his spot on the couch.
"if it doesn't solve them, at least it makes me forget them. at least temporarily." sirius admitted.
remus softened slightly. "alright, that's enough for tonight." he said, looking at the empty glass.
and all of the nights they fought, and all of the nights they loved, lived and lost were in the past. all of the screaming, the burnt cigarettes, the alcohol felt at the bottom of the glass were of the past.
now, they were two broken men, clinging on the little of what they had gotten left.

Chapter One Two Three Fourth | Masterlist
*********************************************
She saw a large house with a beautiful garden separating it from the street, small black metal gate at the beginning of the path.
A large orange cat was pacing back and forth into a big bush, his tail up in the air and ears fluttering to the sides. His green eyes barely look in her direction as she made her way to the front door.
Opening it and stepping inside, she saw the happy family that lived there.
Well, part of it actually.
A small boy was sitting in front of a small coffee table at the living room, showing his three uncles the 200 pieces puzzle he just finished the night before. Two of them were kneeling down in his sides to watch as he explained every character present on the print, the other one sat at a chair and smiled at the boy.
From the kitchen, a tall man came with shoes that could only fit the kid.
"Hey Harry, let's doorbell ditch the neighborhood with your uncles?" He asked and threw the pair of shoes to his son.
The two sitting down with him celebrated and started getting up, hyping the experience.
"You guys are almost 40!" Harry mocked, however tying up the sneakers to join them.
"After 25 you start counting backwards, no one told you that kiddo?" The long-haired man asked, racing the shorter one to the door. They past her, not even noticing the girl.
"Uncle Moony isn't coming?"
"Someone needs to be our alibi, son." He answered, cleaning his glasses and offering the boy a hand, to which he took immediately.
"What's an alibi?"
From the same place the man came, a figure with bright red hair appeared, smiling gently and looked at the only one left.
"I swear to God if James teaches my son about committing crimes I'm gonna lose it."
"To be fair, he's going to Hogwarts in a few years so I'm sure he wants to give his son everything he knew about getting away with things." He replied, reclining softly.
"Getting away? You guys were on detention at least once a month when we were there." She questioned, sighing and sitting on the couch.
He shrugged, tired smile on his face. "You ever think about having another child?"
She held her breath and watched the woman, supposedly her mother, think about the question, lips twitching.
"I don't know. I love Harry profusely, but I don't think I can ever go through this again." Lily replied, patting her skirt and taking cat hair out of it. "Besides, two seem like a lot of trouble. Don't want another mini James running around making me go mad. But why do you ask?"
"Sirius and I have been talking about adoption for quite some time, and we visited this orphanage nearby. There are this twins there, I absolutely loved them." He whispered, looking at the door, hoping to see one of his friends barg in.
"Remus, that's awesome!" She complimented. "But to be honest, I wouldn't have twins. They're just a lot of work and they'll tire you in no time. Just see what Molly's been going through with her twins."
"Yeah maybe you're right."
At this point, she couldn't even breathe. The room was spinning and her ears were ringing like crazy, legs feeling numb. It felt like someone had just punched her throat, struggling to keep the tears from touching the cheek.
The doorbells in the distance from the three marauders and the kid punched her in the head, growing and increasing as time went by.
The girl woke up shaking, moving the shirt away from her throat to make sure nothing was stopping her from breathing.
That nightmare. Again.
It was a current dream, thinking her parents -no, scratch that-, that everyone's life would be better without her.
By far wasn't her worst nightmare, however it pinched right her insecurity.
Regulus twitched, feeling she wasn't there anymore. His hands ran through her waist and she sat on the bed to look at her.
"What's wrong?" He asked, raspy and groggy, moving her hair away. She looked at him with teary eyes and buried her face on his neck.
He immediately hugged her, running his fingers through the exposed skin, lying down again and bringing her along.
"Which one was it this time?"
"The house without me." She simply responded. The man had basically an encyclopedia of her nightmares inside his head.
They were living together and he only saw her, for three years now, Regulus knew basically every single piece of her life.
"Come on, you saw their reactions." He said, stroking her hair. "You really think they'd want a life without you?"
It made sense, she had to admit. However her mind was in such a dark place she could only think how it would be way better if her soul never even came to this world.
"Look at me." He asked, stroking her hair. The girl only buried her face even more into his chest.
"Please?"
Sighing deeply, she raised her head a little, staring into his eyes.
"You made my world a thousand times better." Regulus whispered to her face. "I'd still be in so much pain if it weren't for you. Don't let your mind go there. For me."
Spending time like this, breathing deeply in and out, starting to calm herself down, the hand in her hair and those eyes certainly helped. Lying there, she felt at ease.
Like she was floating with her eyes closed in a calm river, having no idea where it'd lead but didn't wanted to know. The water would be filling her ears, stopping the sounds from the outside world to bother her imense peace.
Peace.
That's exactly what she felt.
A small smile took the form of her lips and Regulus mirrored her.
If she was floating on a calm river, this is the time something would cause a light wave, it would make her lift a little and a cold on her belly when falling back, tingling inside her.
Oh, she thought.
Oh, she panicked.
God, no.
This was the last thing she needed right now.
That part was when she realized she had no fucking clue how to swim, and started panicking, wanting to reach shore once again before drowning.
Noticing how her smile faltered, he tilted his head. “What’s wrong?”
“I- uh- nothing. I just- huh- realized I forgot to feed the possessors last night, I’m gonna do it now, just in case.” She said, fumbling to get up.
“Didn’t you give them pie yesterday?”
“Yeah but, you know, there’s a new one, they’ll start to feel weird, it’s better to make sure.” Continued to lie, brushing her hair with her fingers to keep her hands busy and not letting him see she was shaking. “I’ll be back!”
“Y/n is-” But she left before he could finish. “Five in the morning.”
Basically running down the stairs, she sighed deeply.
This wasn’t happening, no, absolutely not. This couldn’t be happening.
Of all the people in the world? Well, she didn’t knew a lot of people, mostly like ten or twelve and they were all really old.
But the guy she had saved? To be fair, their pain made them get really closer.
But right now? War is banging at your door, how longer do you want to wait?
But why him? Why Regulus? Why not?
Shaking her head and stopping her inner conversation, she cut a big piece of pie he made the day before and stomped her way to the basement once again.
“Oh Merlin’s sake, why me?” She grunted, sitting on the floor with two candles throwing light at the entire place. “And why him?”
The possessor only looked at her, bright red eyes of different sizes staring and following her every movement. A few of them, bigger and harder to be domed were on big metal cages with enchantments surrounding them.
She didn’t fear they’d attack her, not at all, but Regulus she wasn’t sure. After all, he shouldn’t be alive.
Others, smaller and gentler, would often be out of the cages, especially those who possessed animals, it wasn’t the same “fun” as possessing humans.
Humans were confusing, filled with emotions who often would go against instincts, it was more feelings for them to digest and explore. And right now, she was the perfect mix of them: anger, sadness and confusion.
There was only a small ray of sunshine, of happiness, but it wasn’t enough.
“I mean, he knew my parents, probably my father made fun of him at some point, everyone knows James Potter wasn’t a saint.” She talked, chewing on the pie. “Hum, this is amazing. I see why I’m in love with him.”
She gasped for herself, choking on the food.
“No!” Said, between swallowing. “I’m not in love with him. Plus, Regulus is like twenty or something. He wouldn’t want this fifteen kid with him. It’s better if I just... ignore it, and it will go away. It will past and I can forget all of this.”
The door to the basement opened up and she jumped, thinking it would be said person, however she was met with her brother’s figure carefully stepping down.
“Harry! What are you doing here?”
He left the stairs, looking around to the amount of red eyes looking at him. They reminded him of Voldemort’s eyes, but even those had something beyond them, some spark, the man’s eyes were just... void.
“I heard you on the stairs.” He said calmly. “Thought you were making breakfast but I didn’t find you in the kitchen so I took a wild guess.”
“And it worked!” She giggled. “Usually Reggie makes breakfast while I’m down here training and learning. He should be out of bed in a couple minutes and we can eat.”
“Some of them are bigger than others.” Harry mentioned, looking up her shoulder.
“Yeah, it depends on the person, the kind of death, how long that person was dead, if they accepted it, these type of things.” Y/n explained. “See that one right there?” She pointed at the only big one without bars locking him up. “It came out of Regulus. He knew his death was coming and it took him quite some time to die, and more than ten years later he didn’t accepted.”
Harry stared at the monster, that’s what it looked like. A giant cloudy figure who was tall enough with its paws lightly curved to be on his chest’s size. If his sister wasn’t speaking to him in such light tone, he’d be freezed.
“That’s their intention.” She said, smiling gently. “They want to paralyze you and understand all of your fears, deepest feelings and how ready you are to die. It’s exactly what they do.”
“This big guy in particular gave me a hell of a headache to capture it.” She went on, caressing the top of the creature like one caresses a puppy. “He escaped the house, I was too busy with Regulus I couldn’t go after him. Long story short, we had to move because in just a few days everyone knew what happened and they wanted answers that we couldn’t provide.”
“Did he... kill... anyone?”
“Well, not quite.” She made a weird face, a mix of cringe and sarcasm. “He sure scared a lot of people and sent them to the hospital, that I won’t deny. But he needed someone with as much trouble on the head as Regulus Black, and we were living in a small town were people’s biggest trouble was a pumpkin contest.”
He laughed at that, kind of sounded like where he lived, how aunt Petunia were always so worried abou the farm market and how she wanted to win the best pie in town.
But they probably lived very far apart, something like a possessor walking freely down the street could never go unnoticed his aunt’s long neck and his uncle’s big ears.
“Where did you lived all these years?” He asked, sitting on the floor and crossing his legs. Her life felt like a thousand times more interesting than his.
“After I left Abby’s house I went west, so I visited Wales, probably jumped to Ireland, I’m pretty sure I saw some leprechauns in my life.” She told, still caressing the possessor’s head, who was now asleep in her lap. “But after I saved Regulus we basically just lived around here. After Voldemort’s return we sealed the house even more and I started training these bad boys to attack if someone invaded;”
So that’s what he meant yesterday with “special moves” if anything happened, the boy thought.
“Where exactly are we?”
“In the very North of London, almost Scotland. There’s a beach just a few minutes away if you want to know.” Hearing the bumps upside her head, she smiled. “I guess it’s breakfast time.”

Imagine being Sirius’s daughter {Part 3}
Part one
Part two
Tumblr media
-Remus never told you that he still believed your father was guilty, his heart was in a state of heartbreak whenever he would look at you, your eyes filled with hope that you could somehow set him free. Remus wanted so desperately to have your blind, bias belief, I mean what little girl wants to believe her dad was a spy for the enemy and was responsible for the death of most of your family, which was the only reason he couldn’t forgive Sirius for his crimes.
-You and the boys wrote each other daily during the winter break.
-On Christmas Remus surprised you with a book by Lockheart, “Everyone says he is very popular amongst the female readers.”
“He also is a fiction writer, I mean there is no way that someone with a face like his could be the smartest ravenclaw there ever was.”
-Remus chuckled at your response, and then surprised you with a trip to Hogwarts, his backpack filled with presents from you both. When you arrived in Dumbledore’s office you immediately wanted to go find Hagrid, to which the two men stated was okay, “We will meet you at his hut shortly.” Dumbledore answered as you raced from the office towards the spiral stairs.
“I know that look Remus, what is on your mind?”
“You promised me he would never get in contact with her while she was here.” His voice was low
“I did, and I have...”
“He has been writing her since she arrived Albus, and now I just had to tell my daughter that he has been writing to her constantly! I had to look my daughter in the eyes and lie to her that I believed her father was innocent. How can I believe a man who betrayed his friends, who murdered them all, almost got his own godson killed, and not once thought about his incredibly smart, talented, humble, compassionate little girl? I wanted to avoid this Albus, but it seemed I can not trust anyone but my daughter.”
“Your daughter?” Albus asked, Remus hadn’t even realized he kept calling you his daughter, normally he would just call you his niece, or by name. His eyes softened towards the headmaster as he hissed, “Well she might as well be.”
-Dumbledore reassured him that Sirius posed no real threat to you or him, “He is locked away in a cell, never to be freed again.”
-When they went to the Hut with McGonnagall, and some of the other professors, when they opened the door, they saw you sitting on the couch opposite the armchair, your coat discarded, revealing your maroon and gold stripped sweater. A mug was in between your hands, whip cream towering over the top of it as you looked at Hagrid, who was telling you a story about Bowtruckles. Your giggles filled the small space as they all filed into the room. That’s when Hagrid turned around and stood, ready to prepare hot chocolate for everyone, as Remus pushed by and sat beside you on the couch.
-The day after Christmas you went to Diagon Alley to try to find a good gift for Fred. You searched high and low, but nothing stood out to you. That was until you saw the window display of the Quality Quidditch Supplies.
“Uncle Mooney, how realistic would it be to hex my bag with the Undetectable Extension Charm?”
-Quite, why?”
“Because I think I found the gift I want to get Fred.” You answered with a smile before opening the shop door.
-One night while Remus was sipping his tea, he looked up at you, curled up at the end of the sofa, reading a book in one of your oversized sweaters, the glow of the fire illuminated your face, as your tea sat beside you, “You know who you look like right now?”
“Your niece?”
“No, you look just like your Aunt Lily. I mean she was a bookworm, intelligent witch, who was somehow involved with the pranksters of Gryffindor.”
“I’m glad.” You smiled, before Remus smiled, a ping of sadness overcoming him as he missed his friends... the only real family he ever had. You could tell he was off suddenly, and looking at him as he sipped his tea again you asked, “Uncle Mooney, tell me about your time at Hogwarts?”
-You both stayed up most of the night, chuckling at the stories he told. By the time you went to bed, the fire was down to just glowing embers, both of your teas cold, but you were happy, and that night you both slept in until noon.
-When the full moon occurred you went to Hagrid’s hut, and spent the day with him walking in the forbidden forest in the snow.
-When you left to go back to Hogwarts, you looked at your uncle on the station, “Uncle Mooney?”
“Yes Love?”
“No more secrets okay, I mean I would hope you trust me enough to tell me anything, cause I certainly trust you.”
-Of course Love.” He smiled before pulling you in for a hug, and handing you a chocolate bar, “For the journey.”
Tumblr media
-When you found the booth that the twins and Lee were hiding in your whole face lit up, and you were quick to slip in next to Fred as they all were laughing at the story of how Fred and George turned Percy’s hair pink by adding some of their mom’s herbs to his shampoo, and how it backfired when everyone’s had turned pink.
-Once the train started to move however you smiled, “Okay, so shall we exchange?”
-In a circle you each gave your gifts one by one, Fred got Lee, Lee got George, George had gotten you, and you had gotten Fred. You decided to go in the same order you drew names, meaning Fred went first.
-Fred reached in his bag and pulled out a rectangular box, and handed it over to you, “Here, I hope you like it.”
When you opened it, you noticed the dull blue of the tissue paper, and slowly pulled it back to reveal the knitted yarn, the collar was a pastel purple color, while the rest of the sweater was a minty green, your first initial in the same pastel purple. As you held it up, you couldn’t suppress a smile, “I love it.”
-George got Lee the same present, except his was Gryffindor colors.
-Both boys were estact that you liked their gifts.
-Lee handed George a box, and when he opened it, it was filled to the brim with all different sorts of candy. However when he reached inside he withdrew a gameboy.
“The muggles use it to play video games, I figured it might be an interesting gift, and something your dad would love to learn about.”
-Once it was your turn you smiled towards Fred, “You can’t be mad.”
“How could I ever be mad at you?” He chuckled as you smiled wide, before opening your charmed bag and reaching all the way into it, the boys eyes widening as you exclaimed, “Got it.”
-The package was as neatly wrapped as it could be, the paper was a matte blue, with a green ribbon on top. Using both hands you extended it towards Fred, “I figured if you and Georgie were going to someday be real quidditch players, you might as well have a good broom.”
-When he unwrapped it, he was blown away to see the Comet 260, his hands slightly going over the wood as he admired it. However he stopped for a moment at the handle, “Why did you engrave a G in it?”
“Oh bloody hell, that one was meant for George, give me a second.” You exclaimed reaching back in to pull out another one, this time wrapped in orange paper with a yellow bow, “This one is yours Freddie, I mean I couldn’t get one brother a broom and not the other.”
“You got a present in there for me too?” Lee joked as you reached in and withdrew a box wrapped in green paper, which held a box microphone. “Of course.” However they didn’t see the second small box you withdrew, and as George and Lee admired the Gameboy, you gently tapped Fred on the leg, “Here’s one more gift, and I promise, it isn’t another broom.”
- As he opened it, he noticed it was also charmed with the Undetectable expansion charm. Reaching inside he withdrew a Jersey, which was maroon and gold, and had the snitch embroidered onto it.
“Figured you could be the most official looking player when you match up with your siblings.” You whispered
“You really didn’t have to.” He replied, tears in his eyes as you rested your chin on his shoulder, “No, but what are friends for, we are supposed to support each other’s dreams.”
-After that, you and Fred were always close, Lee used to joke that he liked hanging out with you far more than his own twin brother.
-About a month after arriving, at the feast table Albus leaned over to McGonagall, “10 Galleons says that Fred and [Y/N] are dating by their seventh year?”
“I say it will be by their fifth year.” She replied, before reaching her hand out to shake on it
-You never told the boys you knew who created the map, nor did you tell your father that George and Fred were using it to prank students and staff during the school year.
-Sirius wrote you once a week.
- You were in all the same classes as the boys, and it made it so much easier for you to help them with homework. The boys were pretty bright, however they would sometimes get carried away thinking about who to prank and how. Occasionally you would chime in, but most times you would just chuckle and shake your head.
-Percy always looked at you and asked how you could be friends with people like his younger brothers, to which you always gave a witty response. The responses would always cause Fred and George to laugh.
-One night Lee looked at you, both of the twins were running late to dinner, meaning it was just you and Lee for a while. Knowing that the food would disappear probably before the boys made it to the Great Hall, you made a plate for both boys, and made sure to grab an extra pudding for Fred.
“You never get me an extra pudding?” Lee faked whined as you raised an eyebrow, “Lee, I literally gave you my pudding yesterday.”
-When the boys arrived Fred sat across from you, and smiled, “No way, you snagged me an extra pudding.”
“What are friends for?” You smiled as George looked at his plate, which you had put extra turkey on for him, a smile on his face as he looked at his friends.
“You know something, we should all get together this summer.” George suggested, as you raised an eyebrow, “George it’s only March.”
“Yeah, and school ends soon. Then we have to go 3 months without seeing each other. We could ask our mum, I am sure you all could stay in our room.”
“My parents would probably be okay with that, what about you [Y/N]?”
“I’m sure it would be okay, I can ask him.” You let it slip, as they all looked towards you.
“Don’t you mean them?” George asked
“Um..... no. I ummmm live with my uncle.” You answered, you had never told them you didn’t have a mom, or that your father was in Azkaban on a false charge, or that your uncle who you lived with was a werewolf.”
-The boys went silent, and after several seconds, they began their regular banter.
-The next day you wrote Remus, and asked what he would think about you spending some time with the Weasleys at the burrow. He replied within the week and said it would be fine with him, as long as you never returned on a full moon, or the day after.
-When George and Fred asked their parents, Arthur expressed some concern to Molly in private, “I mean how do we know we can trust her, what if she is just like her father?”
“She is just a little girl Art, besides she has basically lived with Remus her whole life. He would never let her grow up to be a monster. Let’s just give her a chance, besides the boys will be heartbroken if we say Lee can come and not [Y/N].”
Tumblr media
- The first time you went to the Burrow, you used Floo powder to get there, your eyes widened as you took in the scenery. Everything about the burrow looked homey, and you were fascinated by the use of magic throughout the home. The needle moving to create a sweater, the sponge moving itself in a circular motion on the dishes, the stove turning itself off as the kettle whistled, the broom sweeping into the dust pan, as the mop followed behind. The dry dishes putting themselves away, as you exited the mantle.
-Molly rounded the corner as you stepped out, her round face dressed with a smile as she extended her arms, “You must be [Y/N], it is so nice to finally meet you my dear.” She quickly advanced towards you as she wrapped you in a hug, “I hope you got here alright.”
“Of course Mrs. Weasley, thank you so much for allowing me to stay for a while in your lovely home.”
“Of course my dear, and no need for formality here, Molly is fine.” She smiled, before calling, “Boys! [Y/N] is here!”
-You couldn’t help but smile as 3 pairs of feet came raising down the stairs, and tackled you onto the couch. The room erupting into a fit of laughter as the boys all dog piled you, and as they stood up (After Molly telling them to), Fred reached out to help you up.
-You slept in the twins room, the boys had made up two cots for you and Lee. Your cot was closer to Fred’s bed. Most nights after the rest of the house had fallen asleep, you and the boys would stay up quietly giggling at future pranks.
-Ron and Ginny loved having you around, whenever they would try to hang out with their two older brothers they would say that they were busy with their friends, yet you would say, “If you want we can do something, who needs these losers anyway to have fun.”
-You always offered to help Molly with the chores, and some nights you even convinced the boys to help.
-One night while you were doing chores with Molly, she leaned over, “I never thanked you by the way.”
“For what?”
“Fred and George were so excited when they got home, they wanted to show us the new brooms they had written us so much about. I know it is just a material object, but most people don’t know that the boys are skilled quidditch players. They just see the jokes, and the pranks, which leads them to get labeled as the general prankster. I can’t tell you how many times the boys have gotten rubber chickens, and whoopie cushions, or little fireworks. You actually showed that you listen to them, and that is all a mother can ask of her children’s friends.”
“No problem Molly, they are wonderful boys.” You smiled, as Ginny raced into the kitchen, “Hey [Y/N], do you think we can have a girls night?”
“Of course.” You smiled.
-You always helped with the twin’s chores, which Molly thought was wonderful.
-You hated weeding the garden though, so you would just lay in the grass and read while the boys labored in the dirt.
-You were only supposed to stay for two weeks, however you ended up staying for a whole month. Lee left after the two weeks though.
-Whenever they would play quidditch in the garden George was insistent on having you on their team, you were an okay player. Whenever you all had some free time between chores, Fred and George would teach you how to play, helping you learn strategies.
-When you went home each of the Weasleys gave you a hug, Molly of course looked at you and smiled, “Now don’t be a stranger, you are welcome anytime.”
“Really, if you don’t mind me asking, may I come stay August 6th?”
“That’s next week?” George replied, his tone questioning as you smiled, it wouldn’t be for too long, just a day or two, my Uncle is going to be out of town for those days. I didn’t want to spend the day alone.”
“Of course Love, whatever you need.” Arthur smiled, his whole attitude towards you altered after your first visit to the burrow.
-After that visit, you spent all the full moons at the Burrow. None of them ever asked why you always stayed on full moons, nor did the professors ask why you stopped coming to Hogwarts.
-Remus hated when you were away, the cabin was so quiet, but he couldn’t stop you. He knew your father was the same way during summer breaks so he could only imagine it was the Black genes in you. You however always came back with a smile plastered on your face, and spent the week telling him all about what you did.
-When you went shopping for your supplies for your second year, Molly and Arthur invited you and Remus to join them, which you eagerly agreed to.
Tumblr media
-The plan was to meet at the Burrow, as soon as the twins heard the sound of an Apparition spell, they were out the door. Immediately they had you wrapped in a hug, your arms hanging around both of their necks as they gripped you tightly. Pulling away they then looked at Remus.
“You must be Mister Lupin, pleasure to see you again sir.” They both said at the same time, hands rocketing out for a handshake. He just looked at the pair and replied, “And you must be George,” he pointed to George, “And Fred.” He pointed to Fred before reaching out and shaking both of their hands.
“Blimey, not even our own mum can tell us apart like that.” George joked as you immediately piped up, “Your mum can tell you apart just fine, it is just the two of you that like to switch identities to see if anyone will notice.”
-Next out the door was Ron, his kind of grown out red mop blowing in the wind as he raced over and into your arms, “I missed you.”
“I missed you too kid.”
-Fred and George rolled their eyes at the interaction, both of them had figured out during your first stay that Ron had developed some little crush on you, Remus of course saw the eye rolls and whispered, “Now don’t tell me you never had a crush on one of your brother’s friends when you were his age?”
-while all the kids raced around the yard before going, Remus talked with Arthur and Molly. Of course the awkward subject came up, “So does she know...”
“Yes, she knows exactly what her father did, and as much as I hate it, she believes he was framed. However we don’t discuss the topic of her father unless absolutely necessary. I would hope the same is being done here.”
“Of course Remus.” Molly replied, shooting Arthur a disapproving look, “Our kids don’t know anything about him, and I doubt she has told any of them.”
“I mean Fred and George might know, seeing how close they are.” Athur piped up, but Remus just looked at him, “No they don’t, she would never risk losing your boys. I dare say she would protect them with her life if she had too.”
“Just as her father was supposed to?” The response was automatic, Arthur hadn’t even thought of it when it slipped out, and he immediately regretted it, whispering an apology as Remus shot him a disapproving look, as Molly gave him the look of death. However all Remus replied with was, “She is nothing like her father.”
- The twins and you wanted ventured out on your own as soon as you arrived to Diagon Alley, Remus chuckling as you looked at him quickly, “You can join us if you like.”
“Are you sure darling, I would hate to spoil your fun?” He replied as George laughed
“Nonsense Mr. Lupin, [Y/N] tells us you were quite the prankster when you were our age, we would love to hear more about it. Maybe get some ideas.” Fred smiled, as Remus looked towards the ground, a ping of sadness entering his heart as he chuckled, “Now Fred, I was not the prankster of the group, that title was held by [Y/N]’s father, and her Uncle James.”
-After going to a few shops looking for supplies, the four of you all went to Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour, and got some ice cream. As you sat at the table Fred and George asked Remus what it was like when he was at Hogwarts. As you licked your cone you couldn’t help but chuckle as Remus’s face lit up, telling Jame’s and Sirius’s prank stories to the twins.
-Their personal favorite was when Sirius and James had discovered a new muggle song, and somehow disguised a boom box in the Great Hall, and turned it to Maximum volume. The entire day the Hall was filled with Don’t Go Breaking my Heart by Thin Lizzy, on a loop. They earned two days of detention with Flich, in which he had them polish all of the trophies in case.
-At one point while you were shopping, Fred picked up a flower on the side of the road, and paid 15 Sickles for it, he then walked up beside you and leaned over, “Figured you might like this.”
“You bought me a Garden Rose, is it bewitched?”
“Course not, can’t a boy just buy his best friend a pretty flower?” He smiled as you cautiously took it from him, and thanked him.
-Remus was watching you both from a distance, and smiled as he thought of his niece falling in love, and was hopeful that it was at least with one of the Weasley boys.
-When it was time to part ways Fred asked Remus, “Sir, do you mind if one day, George and I come over, and stay for a week? We would love to see what your home looks like, and to hear more stories?”
“Unfortunately boys, I don’t think that is possible, however I would be more than happy to come to the burrow whenever you want to tell you more.”
-Remus didn’t know how to explain the scratches that were randomly scattered along the interior and exterior of the cottage.
-When you got home, Remus looked at you with a smile, “I like those two.”
“I knew you would.” You smiled, as you put your bags down, and dropped your garden rose into a vase.
-You sent your father letters all about the Weasley twins, and told him how they looked up to him and Uncle Prongs after Remus shared their stories. You had no idea how much it meant to him that Remus was still talking about him.
Tumblr media
-When it was time for you all to go back, Remus stood on the platform with you, “Now don’t let those boys rope you into any pranks that will get you expelled.”
“Course Uncle Mooney.” You replied, before wrapping him into a hug. As you pulled away you saw two tuffs of red hair race over, “Come on [Y/N], Lee’s already on the train saving us a booth.” George whined as they both grabbed your hands and led you away, while shouting, “Good to see you Mr. Lupin.”
-When you started your second year you noticed you were in all the opposite classes as the boys. Your smile dropping as you tried to envision classes without your best friends.
-That first night in the common room the four of you all sat around in the corner, the moonlight pouring into the window as you watched Lee and Fred compet in a game of Wizards Chess, George scribbling down prank ideas. Finally he looked at you, “How do you think we can pull off your father’s prank?”
“What?”
“You know the one where they blasted muggle music throughout the Great Hall?”
“Don’t you think that will be too odvious, I mean the only people who would know about that would be [Y/N], we would be had for sure.” Lee replied, before saying, “Pawn to E6.”
“Besides, I think we can pull off far better pranks then my dad and his friends, I mean you two are the Weasley Twins, greatest pranksters to ever attend Hogwarts.” You smiled as Fred slightly blushed.
-Lee and George both noticed how Fred blushed, and when you went to bed that night both of them looked at him, “Okay, spit it out.”
“Spit out what Lee?” He asked confused.
“Do you have a crush on our very own Miss Black?” George asked, as Fred began to stutter, causing both boys to smile.
“Blimey Fred, why don’t you just tell her then.”
“It’s not that simple Georgie, I mean... what if she doesn’t feel the same, how will that affect the group. We can’t lose her, she is the brains behind a quarter of these pranks.”
-The rest of the term you helped the boys with all of their schoolwork, as normal.
-You were the top of your class, all the professors were proud of your work, even Snape.
-Most nights you and the boys would end up sitting at the table in the corner, or on the love seats that were against one of the farthest walls. Whenever you were on the loveseats, Lee and George would make sure you and Fred were on the same sofa, and whenever you’ll would sit at the table they would arrange the seats so that you were also next to Fred. You didn’t think anything of it, but Fred knew what they were trying to do, and he would always just stare at them with dirty looks when you weren’t looking.
-When they tried out for the Quidditch team, you were sitting in the stands, your scarf and hat on as you watched them prove their skills, your applause Louder than everyone else’s as you cheered them on.
-When George and Fred made the Quidditch team, you were the first person to congratulate them, a huge smile on your face as you leapt into Fred’s arms, as he twirled you around. Then you went to hug George, and looked at them both, “I am so bloody proud of you.”
-Hagrid sat with you at every game, and afterwards you would go to the hut with him and share a cup of tea.
-Remus wrote you often, and told you about the woods, and the lilies. However he wasn’t a fan of how quiet it was, and often found himself playing music throughout the cabin. The records that he had were classics that he had collected over the years, but he always found himself gravitating towards the small collection of records that Lily had given him. They were some of her favorites, and he had given him a few copies of them once they were out of school. The genre of them varied.
-Every once and a while however his fingers would find the section of records that were not his... they belonged to Sirius. He had taken them when he went to the house to collect your things, he wasn’t sure why he had the urge to take them from the house with your stuff, but he didn’t feel right leaving the house without them. He would take the vinyl disk out of the sleeve and spin it between his fingers a few times before placing it on the player, his body slumping into the armchair after putting the needle on. His eyes would shut as he put his fingers to his temple, the familiar melodies filling the space as he remembered the days he would go to Sirius’s flat and he would be blasting the record player. Most times you were resting on his hip, a huge smile on your face as he twirled you around and danced to the beat. Your giggles almost drowned out by the guitars, and drums. As Remus listened to them, tears would normally slid down his cheeks, as he thought to himself, “Why Pads, why did you do it?”
Tumblr media
-Before leaving for Christmas break, you did the secret Santa again, this time you drew Lee’s name.
-That Christmas break you went to the cabin, and stayed with Remus the whole time, both of you just enjoying the comfort of being together. He would sometimes find himself chuckling as you sat at the dining room table and wrote letters to the boys, and your father.
-You were laughing when on Christmas Day you found a present under the tree addressed to you from the Weasleys. You opened it to find that you once again had received a Christmas sweater, this time it was purple and blue, there was a note attached that read, “You might as well be part of the family.”
-On the last night you and Remus were sitting in the living room, the fire roaring as you looked toward Remus, “Uncle Mooney?”
“Yes love.”
“Do you ever wonder how Harry is?” This wasn’t the first time you had asked about Harry, but this was the first time in a while. Your head was resting on your knees as he spoke, “I am sure Harry is just fine, I am sure he is sitting at his Aunt Petunia’s right now surrounded by all his presents, and is filled with fmdread that school is going to start back up.”
“I hope so.” You answered with a smile. You had no idea though that Remus was slightly filled with doubt. Every time he would think about Harry, he would remember what James used to tell him about Petunia Evans, and how she was a arrogant, closed minded bitch when it came to anything in her sister’s life.
-When you got on the train you were excited to see the three boys, all of them wearing their Weasley sweaters. George laughing as he looked towards you, “I love that we are all matching, it’s almost like we planned this.”
“Too bad we didn’t.” Fred barked, as you plopped down next to Lee, your back leaning against the wall of the booth as you put your legs over his lap. His arms laying over your legs as you spoke to the twins across from you both.
-Finally after swapping stories of the break Lee smiled, “Time for secret Santa?”
“Course it is, I’ll go first.” George replied, as he reached into his bag and withdrew a small box, thrusting it towards Fred, “Here you go Fred.”
“You got me?” He asked, taking the box in hand, “You told me that you had gotten Lee.”
“What was I supposed to do, tell you that I drew your name out of the hat and that I bought you your present right in front of you. That would ruin the whole tradition.” George replied as you smiled, “He has a point Freddie.”
-When Fred opened the box he was greeted by a whole box full of dungbombs. He chuckled as he carefully removed one and whispered, “Wicked.”
-Next was Lee, who handed a gift towards George, “I can’t top the gift [Y/N] got you last year, but I sure as hell can try.”
-In the box was a Gryffindor colored Hackey Sack which George twirled between his fingers, “What is it?”
“You kick it, when we get to Hogwarts I can show you how to play with it.” Lee smiled as you reached into your bag and withdrew a box, the boys all chuckling at the fact that your bag was still charmed from last Christmas. “Here Lee, just promise me you won’t use it to blow us up.”
“I promise, however are you trying to tell me you bought me a bomb?”
“You’re just gonna have to open it to find out.” You smiled as he tore the paper slightly and revealed that logo of Dr Filibuster's Fabulous Wet-Start, No-Heat Fireworks. “No way.” Lee gasped as you smiled.
“Figured we could light it off down by the lake.” You replied as Fred pulled a rectangular, brightly wrapped present out of his bag, the ribbon on top of it still in tact as he placed it on his lap. Your eyes still on Lee, he was taking in the smallest details of your face, and watching how the fluorescent lighting in the booth made your eyes twinkle slightly. After a few minutes though he noticed you had looked towards him, a smile plastered on your face as you asked, “So guess that just leaves you Freddie.”
“Ummm yeah.” He answered, looking down quickly, before sticking his hand out towards you, the present grasped tightly between his fingers as he said, “Looks like I got you again.”
-You carefully unwrapped the paper, and smiled as you revealed the limited edition cover of Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them. You smiled wide as you looked up, “Fred, I love it.” You smiled as you slowly opened it and looked at the updated drawings.
-You spent the rest of the train ride reading, while the boys groaned about going back to class.
-When you went to get off you were walking beside Fred, and bumped your shoulder into his, “Thank you again, I really do love it.”
“I’m glad.” He smiled
- After a month back at Hogwarts you found yourself sitting in the common room, and heard the portrait open, the room filled with the giggles of the three boys you valued, your eyes raising from your parchmentad you looked at them. “What did you do?”
“We may have just set off a bunch of dungbombs in Snape’s classroom.” George gasped while trying to maintain his composure.
“Oh bloody hell.” You sighed, “he is going to assign your class extra homework now you know?”
“Worth it.” Lee replied as Fred flopped down on the couch next to you, and added, “Besides he will have no clue who did it.”
“You really think he won’t put it together?” You asked, your eyes meeting his as he answered, “Nope.”
-The next day they came in with a groan, and looked at you, “Want to help us with our Potions homework?”
“He figured it out, didn’t he?” You smiled, your eyes never leaving your book as George groaned, “Yup.”
“Told you.” You responded, as the three boys flopped around you.
-You used to sit in your dormitory with the Marauders Map, and study it for hours, watching as the little footsteps moved across the parchment. It made you feel closer to the Marauders.
-You alternated which spare jersey you wore to the games, since George and Fred had both given you their spares to wear.
-Towards the end of the year you found yourself helping the boys more with the pranks, which they loved because you were always telling them how not to get caught.
-At the end of the year you went straight to the Burrow, since it was a full moon. You smiled walking into the Burrow, a sense of home washing over you as Ron raced into the kitchen, and looked at you, “Bloody hell, I am starting Hogwarts this year, where did the year go?”
-And that’s when it hit you... Harry Potter was starting at Hogwarts next term.
Tumblr media
-When you went back to the cabin you closed the door and slowly slid down it, the sounds of your father’s records filling the space as Remus sat in the armchair. Your trunk abandoned next to you as you leaned your head back, your thoughts filled with the idea of Harry coming to Hogwarts. You wondered if he knew who you and Remus were, or if you were long forgotten. You wondered if he knew about your father, you were sure he would have, even if he lived with muggles. Would he judge you? Would he be angry at you for your father’s false crimes?
-Remus turned in the chair, and watched you sit there, knowing that the wheels were turning in your head. Finally after five minutes he rose slowly as turned the music down, before making his way towards you and kneeling in front of you, “Would you like to go out tonight?”
“Where?”
“Anywhere you want my love.”
-You chose Hogwarts, and you ended up sitting in Dumbledore’s office with Remus, Hagrid, Dumbledore, and McGonagall. You were all smiles and laughing as you listened to them share stories.
-That summer you spent another month at the Burrow, most days you would lay in the sun with the Twins, and discuss possibly opening a joke shop in the future, which was the twin’s dream.
-Molly always told you that you didn’t have to help with chores, however you would always smile and reply, “You really think Freddie and Georgie will do chores if I don’t help.”
-Sometimes at night you and the boys would lay out in the grass and look at the stars, the cool summer air breezing over your forms as you all laid with your heads pointed towards each other. A few times you had fallen asleep while you all were out there, which resulted in Fred carrying you upstairs to your cot. George would always trail behind, slightly chuckling as he wondered when you and his older brother would get together finally.
-Ginny and you would sometimes sit in the couch and just talk, or you would braid her long, ginger hair. Ron would occasionally join as well but Ginny always looked at him and snapped, “Piss off, she doesn’t like you like that.”
-One day while you brushed her hair she asked you if you could ever see yourself dating one of her brothers. You smiled and replied, “Who knows, maybe one day I will, however that is probably going to be the day that I lose all my sanity.”
-On your last night there, you and the twins snuck out to the roof, and sat out there for hours. However at one point George went inside to pee, leaving you and Fred alone.
“Hey.” His voice was quiet as you looked towards him, the wind picking up a strand of your hair as you smeirked, “Hey.”
“I want to ask you something, but I don’t want it to make things awkward between us.”
Your heart rate escalated, and your palms became sweaty, you were hoping he would finally ask you out, “Nothing you ask me would make stuff awkward Freddie.”
He scooted closer to you, maintaining eye contact as he did, soon you were shoulder to shoulder as he took a deep breath.
“You gonna ask me, or should I wait for tomorrow?” You teased as he let out a chuckle.
“No.” He looked at his hands, which were entangling in each other, and then back at you, his eyes glassy as he whispered, “Why do you live with Mr. Lupin?”
“What?”
“Like what happened to your parents?”
“Well... my mom didn’t tell my dad at first that she was pregnant. He didn’t find out I even existed until I was 6 months old, when she dropped me off at his flat and disappeared. I was starting to display accidental magic, and she freaked out because she was a muggle. I lived with my dad until November of 1981, that’s when I moved in with Uncle Lupin. My dad, ummm, got arrested on false charges.”
“What were they?”
“Murder, and everyone also pinned him as a death eater. He didn’t do anything though.”
“So your father is in...”
“Azkaban.....” you were silent for a second, before looking up towards the stars, “Yeah, he is.”
-There was silence between you and Fred, neither one sure what to say, until his hand slowly glided towards your leg, and he gently placed it down on your thigh, “We don’t have to talk about it again, I just wanted to know.”
“It’s fine Freddie, really.” You replied, before leaning over and resting your head in his shoulder, your eyes closing as you took a deep breath of the summer air, wishing that life could have been slightly different.

Chapter Fifteen - A Little Fall of Rain
Sirius grinned as he wrapped his arms around his little girl as he helped her hold the reins of the horse properly, delighting in her little giggles. The village was as quaint and beautiful as Sirius remembered and the villagers seemed to be even nicer. Glancing over at his wife, he noticed that Y/N was in her element as she helped Johnathan sit upright at the front of her horse. Her beautiful face gleamed with happiness as the townspeople called out to her, blowing kisses and showering her with pink petals.
She looked every inch the Princess as the flower petals got caught in her shiny hair. The twins giggled as they reached their little hands into the air, trying to catch some of the falling petals.
“Do you like being back in France, my darling?” Sirius asked with a grin as they passed the gorgeous little chapel.
Y/N sighed wistfully as she gazed over at him, a small smile playing around the edge of her lips, “it’s better than I could have ever imagined.”
They had been back to France since their wedding but it had only been when Sophia had moved to French court, where they had spent their visits. The Duke and the Duchess hadn’t stayed at their beautiful chateau since they had got married, so they took the opportunity to ride through the little villages that lay in the shadow of the chateau.
Sirius grinned at her answer as a petal stuck to his lip; he chuckled as he blew it off, “I love you, Y/N.”
“I know,” she fixed him with a teasing grin; “I love you too.”
Sirius laughed as he glanced back at Andromeda who was grinning at a handsome French boy frim where she sat on her horse, making Sirius roll his eyes. Andromeda was Y/N’s new lady in waiting and she was Sirius’ cousin which seemed to be the best option. Y/N really liked her, maybe too much since she had asked Andromeda to tell her embarrassing stories about Sirius from when he was growing up. Andromeda was someone that Y/N wouldn’t be suspicious of. It was the best solution for everyone.
As the small party made its way out of the village they bid goodbye to the kind townspeople, Y/N blew them kisses and Sirius waved at them before they finally crossed the grey stone bridge that had been built over the rushing stream. When they reached the gorgeous chateau nestled in the hills, the twins gasped and pointed at it while Y/N sighed happily.
“It’s so beautiful,” Andromeda breathed as they rode through the portcullis.
“I’m so happy that we did this,” Y/N beamed and reached across to take Sirius’ hand, Sirius grinned and kissed her fingers as he nodded.
Lily and James had offered Sirius and Y/N some time off, Lily had assured Y/N that she would be fine with her other ladies to help her. Sirius had accepted the time off before his wife could refuse. It was admirable that Y/N was so attentive in her duties to the Queen but it was clear that they both needed some time off. Before they had set off for France, the King and Queen had asked Sirius and Y/N to be the godparents to their unborn child which Y/N was very excited about.
The servants of the chateau were very happy to see that their Master had returned to them alive and well, they had no doubt heard about the troubles that were happening in England. Once everybody had settled and unpacked their luggage, summer wine and cakes were served in one of the beautiful gardens.
Sirius and his family sat among the gorgeous roses as the twins played in the gently flowing stream. Sirius loved to hear them play together, he was determined that they would grow up as best friends, unlike him and Regulus. Andromeda smiled as she lay beneath one of the trees with her eyes closed.
“I love it here; I can see why you two wanted to come back so much.”
Y/N sighed wistfully as she nodded, her head tucked against Sirius’ chest as she traced circles over his warm skin, “it will be even harder to leave but we all needed a break,” she rubbed her temples and Sirius pulled her closer, stroking through her hair gently with his long fingers.
“Okay, new rule, let’s not talk about court while we’re here,” Y/N grinned and nodded, leaning up to sweetly kiss his cheek. Sirius turned his head so she kissed his lips at the last moment, making her giggle into the kiss.
Andromeda sat up, looking over at Sirius and Y/N with a sly smile on her face, “so, when are you two going to have another baby?”
Sirius rolled his eyes while Y/N gasped happily as she took his hand. Everybody had been asking them that lately and it was starting to annoy Sirius but Y/N loved it.
“I would really love another child as soon as possible but Sirius doesn’t think so,” she pouted up at him.
Sirius sighed as he pressed a kiss against her forehead, “I just think that we should wait a little bit longer, the twins are only two and soon enough we’ll have our hands full with the Royal Prince or Princess,” he laughed while Andromeda nodded understandingly, “we’re being safe,” Sirius nudged Y/N’s shoulder with a smirk before he took her hands in his own, “I promise that we will have more children.
Y/N gave him a beautiful grin as she kissed his lips, giggling when the soaking wet twins jumped into her arms so they could dry off in the sun.
The merriment of spending a week in France, where they did nothing but lounge around in the sun was over too soon. Y/N and Sirius had filled their nights with love making and had spent half of the morning sleeping in. Sirius knew that Y/N was especially sad to leave France; it was hard for her to hold back her tears as they rode away from the chateau. Sirius promised that they would be back soon.
Once Sirius and Y/N were back at English court – where thankfully the weather was as warm as it was in France – they got right down to business. They were trying to locate the missing prisoners who had branded themselves as Death Eaters, followers of Voldemort who was now much more than a fable. Sirius thought that there was a traitor at court.
The whole court was in attendance in the stuffy Throne Room when the door burst open and a bleeding man stumbled through it, “Sirius,” he mumbled weakly as he fell to the floor and Sirius realised with a jolt that it was Regulus.
“Regulus!” Y/N gasped as Sirius ran over to his little brother, Sirius teared up when he saw just how much Regulus was bleeding, his shirt was soaked red and he was extremely pale, shivering in Sirius’ arms.
“Get a doctor!” he looked behind him to see everyone standing with their mouths agape, Remus was the first one to shake himself out of it and he hurried to find a doctor while James dismissed the court.
“No,” Regulus said weakly as he choked on the blood that was filling his mouth, “I’ll be dead before a doctor can get here, you were right, you were always right. I nearly got away,” he winced and spluttered.
Sirius shook his head as tears spilled down his cheeks and it felt like a dagger to the heart to see his baby brother die in his arms, “you’re not going to die, I won’t let you die.”
Regulus chuckled weakly, “you’re such a good brother, always looking after me, if only mother could have seen how amazing you are. Sirius, I’m scared, I don’t want to die alone,” Regulus’ eyes were round and scared. Sirius hadn’t seen him look like that since he was a little boy when he used to sleep in Sirius’ room after a bad dream.
Sirius shook his head as he sniffled, “there’s nothing to be scared of, and you won’t be alone. I’ll stay with you,” he held Regulus close to his chest.
Regulus glanced over at Y/N and gave her a cheeky smile, “debro estar en el porque veo un angel.”
Y/N sniffed as she gave him a watery smile, “siempro has sido uno de los hombres mas valientes que conozco.”
Regulus smiled and looked back at Sirius, “I’m not going to say goodbye because I’ll see you again.”
Sirius nodded, “I’ll see you again,” there was a ghost of a smile on Regulus’ face as his breathing slowed and eventually came to a stop. Sirius sobbed as he brought his brother’s limp lifeless body close to his chest, it felt like a part of his heart had died alongside Regulus, his baby brother.
-------------------------------
Sirius’ profile looked sad and tense and you knew the reason why, Regulus’ funeral had been beautiful but it was something that should never have happened. You were so heartbroken so you knew that Sirius must be feeling even worse, after his baby brother had died in his arms. He’d been a hero and he’d died a hero’s death, he had tried to thwart Voldemort and for that he would be forever honoured.
You knew that Sirius was also worried because an old sorcerer who had been banished by James’ father had contacted the King, telling him that he had news of a prophecy that affected James, Lily and their unborn child. James didn’t much believe in prophecies but he decided that it couldn’t hurt to listen, his benevolent nature had allowed the sorcerer to return to court, but only if his information was good. James had sent for you, Sirius, Remus and Peter to hear the prophecy, you were the ones that he trusted without question.
Your husband stopped outside of the council chamber and looked at you with wild sad eyes, the grey colour of his eyes didn’t sparkle as much as they used to. He took your hands and kissed along your fingers, you were worried about what he had to say.
“Maybe,” he swallowed, “maybe you should take the twins and go back to Spain,” he sniffled, refusing to look at you.
His words caused a jolt of panic to go through you; did he really want you to go? “what? What are you talking about? Why on Earth would I go back to Spain?”
Sirius shook his head as tears stung at his eyes and you cupped his stubbled cheeks so he would actually look at you, “because I’m damaged goods, Y/N!” he threw up his hands, “first it was because my parents didn’t love me and now, my brother is dead, don’t you get it? I was supposed to protect him! That was my job! You deserve to be with someone who doesn’t have any worries.”
“Sirius, darling,” you sighed as you leaned forward to kiss him, “I don’t believe there’s anyone in this whole world who has no worries and I don’t want anyone else. We promised to be together till death do us part and even then death can’t keep us apart. Unless you don’t want me here anymore, do you actually want me to leave?”
Sirius sniffled as he wiped the tears from his handsome face and he offered you a small smile, “I don’t want you to leave. Never. I just think that you deserve better.”
You smiled as you kissed his cheek, “then I’m never going to leave, you’re the love of my life, Sirius Orion Black. I only want to be with you.”
Sirius cupped your cheek and kissed you slowly and deeply, “I love you, Y/N,” he whispered against your lips, “I love you so much.”
“I love you too, Sirius,” you smiled and nodded at the door behind him, “come on, we shouldn’t keep everyone waiting.”
Sirius nodded as he reached down and laced his fingers through yours as you both walked through the door of the council chambers. The table had been moved out of the way to make way for the tall throne like chairs and an old man was standing before the King and Queen. As you and Sirius entered the room, he turned to look at you, smiling benevolently as he peered at you through half-moon spectacles. With his long white hair and beard he looked exactly like a sorcerer from a storybook.
You greeted Remus and Peter as you sat on one of the tall chairs, smiling at Lily as she looked at you nervously, her hands protectively on her stomach.
James was the one to speak up first, “I don’t much believe in prophecies and the like, Dumbledore but for my wife,” he reached over to take Lily’s hand, “I would do anything, if your information proves to be good and if you can help us thwart Voldemort then you may stay at court.”
“You’re very kind, Your Majesty,” Dumbledore bowed his head as he got glass ball from his pocket, “if you would hold this against your stomach, Your Majesty,” he gave the ball to Lily, “the prophecy is about your unborn son, we will only be able to hear the prophecy if it’s close to him.”
Lily nodded and took the glass ball and did as Dumbledore said, you and Sirius leaned in as the smoke cleared and the face of a woman in huge spectacles appeared, you exchanged a worried look with Lily. It seemed that you both recognised that woman; it had been the woman that had frightened Lily at the summer festival.
“The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches…born as to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies… and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not… and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives… the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies.”
Deafening silence filled the room as you felt a chill of dread run down your spine as Lily blinked back tears.
“How do you know this is about our son?” James asked, finally breaking the silence.
Dumbledore walked closer to the King and showed him an engraving on the metal part that the ball was set in, “Harry James Potter,” James read out.
James and Lily both exchanged worried glances, “we have decided on the name Harry if we have a son and we wanted him to take James’ name as his middle one, and he’s due at the end of July” Lily sniffled as she looked down at her stomach, “he’s the only one who can defeat Voldemort, Voldemort will be coming after him, and us. He’ll want to kill us,” Lily’s breath started getting short and you got from your seat and wrapped your arms around her.
“The only people who know about the prophecy are in this room, word will never be able to get back to Voldemort, we’ll be okay,” Sirius smiled but you could feel that this was only the beginning.
You glanced up through the door that had been cracked open but it was enough for you to see the back of a greasy head walking down the corridor, glancing back as he did so.

Peter's Journey
Not everyone is a hero. Not everyone dares to risk their lives for others. Eventhough they wished. It is easy to say "I would die for my loved ones". But when the gun is right between your eyes, what would be your choice? Let's step into Peter's shoes for a minute.
Peter was so scared of joining The Order. It was the right thing to do. His friends repeated it all the time. It was the right thing. But Peter preferred stepping aside, leaving this fight to the capable wizards, the ones with more experience, Dumbledore, Moody. Anyone was better than Peter. Peter barely went through classes. James and Remus had to help him a lot. Peter knew they were patient. Sometimes Peter felt stupid. There was no way he could beat experienced death eaters, specially if some of them were the Slytherin kids that used to torment Peter.
But Peter said yes, afraid of being a coward the moment he said no. He didn't want to be a coward. He didn't want to lose his friends. He had to be stronger and said yes. Just like all of his friends had done.
After Hogwarts, life was different for The Marauders. They weren't together all the time as they used to. They lived in different places. They all were in love. James had Lily. Remus had Sirius. Marlene had Dorcas. And Mary, Mary was never alone. It was easy for her to get any boy she wanted. That wasn't Peter's case. He felt alone. He felt unworthy.
As the war continued, The Order realized they weren't invencible as they thought. Death eaters weren't Slytherin biggots that got scared with a jinx or the threat of calling a teacher. They were out there to kill, torture everyone who stepped in their way. Peter was scared of dying. And he was scared of seeing the people he loved die. Everytime he came out of a mission, barely alive, he had nightmares about it. He got paranoic, stressed and depressed.
The Prewet Twins were murdered by five death eaters. Benji was blown up to pieces. Caradoc desapeared presumably death. Those were experienced older Wizards. And The Death eaters got to them. Peter didn't have a chance.
The Marauders kept playing heroes. Like they would kill You know Who, the next morning and be over with it. Like it was so easy. Peter had all sorts of thoughts and feelings about his friends. How Peter was nothing to them now. James was the center of attention with his new life. Marrying Lily and having Harry. Sirius and Remus had each other. They didn't need Peter anymore. Perhaps they never did. Peter had always been the spare. The other one. He began realizing how unimportant he'd been for the group. James was the leader. Sirius was outgoing funny one. Remus was the mastermind. What was Peter? Now that he scanned his memories, Peter had always been the one who did the silly things. Like the distraction. What if Peter die in the next mission? Would anyone miss him? He wasn't as important as Lily was to James. As James was to Sirius. As Sirius was to Remus. He didn't have anyone to love. Nobody loved him as much. Not even his mother.
Those thoughts were on Peter's mind for months. He even stopped hanging out with his friends. Nobody noticed. Maybe nobody cared. When Marlene died, Peter took his decision. Marlene was one of them. Part of the gang. It meant they could all die at any moment. So he joined the other side in desperation of survival. It wasn't about "doing the right thing" anymore. It was about surviving. Peter never shared the ideals that the death eaters had. Peter never wanted for the purebloods to rule the rest. Peter never wanted to hurt James and Lily. He only wanted to survive. But once inside, there was no easy way out. The moment he said yes, he was immediately in and there was no turning back. Don't think for a minute that Peter had a blast as a double agent. The amount of guilt was consuming him. The fear of anyone finding out. Peter realized he made a mistake seconds after he made the decision. But there was no turning back.
Peter never planned for the Prophecy to exist. He never planned for the Potters to be part of it. He never planned to be secret keeper. Everything happened so fast. And Peter was scared. He didn't want to die. He was so scared of dying. Voldermort manipulated him. He convinced Peter than it wasn't so bad for James and Lily to lose a baby. They could another one. They were young. He threatened Peter, he told him if he didn't tell The Potters location, he would find them anyway. But he would kill Peter and he would hurt James and Lily.
"If you tell me now, I can spare the parents. I can even let them into my ranks, they are talented wizards. If you don't. I'll kill the baby, the parents and yourself"
Peter thought he had no choice. So he took the first option. James and Lily would be alive. And they can have another child. Many as they wished. But Peter wasn't a parent. He never planned that James and Lily would love Harry so much that they would sacrifice themselves for him. Peter hadn't realized what he actually did, until Sirius confronted him.
"You killed James and Lily! They are death because of you!"
No. Peter had tried to save them. He took the better solution. They weren't supposed to die. He never never wanted to hurt Lily. He never wanted to hurt James. James. His brother. Something in his brain clicked. He became insane with loss and pain and guilt. Peter panicked. And in that moment of adrenaline, he cut his finger, turned into a rat and ran away as fast as possible. He didn't even think about the consequences he was leaving for Sirius. Or for an orphan Harry. Or for a lonely Remus. The Peter from now was far beyond the Peter that he used to be. The teenage boy with dreams, ambitions, wishes of loving and be loved. The Peter that used to love his friends was no longer there. Peter was an insane poor excuse of a man with the only goal of survival.
