SFW
Heeseung
Nothing much would change with Heesueng!
While he may be more caring or quicker to make sure you feel safe around him, Heeseung would act as he would with a gf his age. Though, his gentleman side will show more since he is the 'more mature' one out of the relationship. Whether that be or true or not, he still plays the role of a gentleman. Walking on side closer to the road, holding your bags, holding you close to him, opening doors for you and more.
Heeseung will also try to be more observant. He may be a year older than you or even five years or more older than you. Whatever the age difference is, he'll always attend to your needs as you come across different stages in your life.
But there's also another side of Heeseung! Since he has a younger s/o, he may feel that he can be more playful! Since his s/o is more youthful then he is, Heeseung not only mucks around, but makes sure to have fun with her and enjoy life.
Jay
We all know Jay will be more protective.
Not to the point of restricting your day-to-day life, but to the point where he will minimize any mishaps in your life. He'll do his best to make sure you don't get physically or emotionally hurt.
Jay also may shower her with affection more. Providing more gifts just to see her youthful smile. This could be done by small gifts, compliments or surprise outings. Jay is more protective of her, but he will always try to hide that, hiding it behind is cheery smile and easy-going personality.
In terms of age gaps, Jay may want a significantly younger s/o. Not only because they look younger or because he loves spoiling and taking care of who he loves, but typically, younger s/o not only have more energy, but provide Jay with many moments of happiness and fun memories. So for Jay he'd be happy with a four year age gap, even six years!
Jake
While Jake does give off huge Noona vibes, pairing him with a younger s/o could bring out more of his playful side.
All of Jakes energy needs to match a younger s/o. Going out on fun dates, creating a mess in the kitchen, possibly getting kicked out of a store from their antics....Either way while Jake is loving, he has a lot of energy, and a younger s/o would be perfect!
Jake will also make his s/o feel special! Because Jake can be playful and slightly immature, a s/o who is younger and has the same personality will not only feel more loved but feel understood as they act the same way.
When it comes to age gaps, Jake wouldn't want one which is to big. Sure he may want a younger s/o, but the age normally ranges from 1-3 age gap. However if we have mature of sugar daddy Jake, he'd love 5-7 years age gap.
Sunghoon
Ever watched 'When I fly towards you'? his relationship with his s/o would be like that (zhang lurang and su zai zai)
Sunghoon is more reserved, but a younger s/o would not only bring out a large smile but be refreshing as it forces to Sunghoon to come out of him shell a bit more. Sunghoon will not only fall in love with her energetic nature, but her cuteness as well!
Sunghoon would also adore a younger s/o who can understand him. Yes, he may fall in love with their cuteness or energy, but he also wants someone who can switch from funny to serious.
On the other hand, Sunghoon will also be supportive of his s/o, their biggest cheerleader! He'll help them get through any troubles with his own experience as well as be there for a shoulder to cry on.
When it comes to age gaps, Sunghoon doesn't mind. You could be a few months younger than him, or even five years, as long as you are able to be mature if the time comes, then that's all he needs.
Sunoo
Sunoo is another s/o cheerleader!
Like his own youthful personality, a younger s/o would best fit Sunoo. Sunoo will give his s/o all of his love! Making sure she not only feels safe in the relationship but respected and cared for.
Sunoo may not be as protective as Jay, but when the time comes, he will step up for his s/o. Whether that is to a stranger, family member or even a boss, he'll always be there to help his s/o.
In terms of dates, Sunoo has to go on one at least once a week! That could be a cute cafe to the cinema to even a pottery class! Anything hands on, or sure to make memories is a must. Sunoo has a lot of energy, so does his s/o so he wants to make the most of it.
Like Sunghoon, age gap doesn't really matter. Although I don't think 4+ years would be good for Sunoo as he is not one to lead (power dynamics aren't his thing) so 1-3 years is perfect.
Jungwon
Already being caring and full of love, a younger s/o would be perfect.
Jungwon, like Jay is someone who loves to spoil and care for people! With his more maturer side, he'll share advice with his s/o and even listen to all of their troubles or tea. Jungwon is always there to talk to, and he makes that known.
But, Jungwon still has a playful side. With a younger s/o he is able to show that side more often. He'll cheer you up, make inside jokes with you, play fight with you and even just muck around together, like splashing each other in the beach!
Jungwon wouldn't be able to handle more then five year age gap, all because not only is Jungwon quite young, but that is a huge maturity gap. 1-4 years is best, when older Jungwon could stretch to 5 years.
Ni-Ki
While Ni-ki is another member who gives off Noona loving vibes, a younger s/o would better suit him.
Ni-ki who is still young, having a younger s/o is better because they would relate to him more. Whether that childhood experiences to high school to even friend troubles, Ni-Ki most likely has also experienced that.
Although Ni-Ki is also younger, he is also mature. Mature enough to keep the relationship balanced. Ni-Ki will show you he loves you by compliments surprise gifts or even just chilling with you.
With a younger s/o, Ni-Ki who is still exploring the world, will do so with his s/o! He'll go to a new country with her, try new foods, try new hobbies and more! A relationship with Ni-Ki will be very easy going, full of love and energy.
At his age, a 1-2 year age gap is best, but when older, Ni-Ki could easily go for 1-6 years if he wanted to.
NSFW
Heeseung
His playboy nature comes out.
In fact, several kinks of his resurface if he has a younger s/o. Heeseung will be mindful of the possible power dynamics in this relationship. But when it comes to a younger s/o who is just as freaky as him and understands the possible dynamics, then he'll let loose.
Nearly every night will end in sex, fucking in the shower, on the couch, in his car, on the kitchen counter, on the floor, even against the mirror...but rarely in bed. Heeseung loves you so much, and he loves your body as well.
But with Heeseungs freaky side, a relationship with him will only work if his younger s/o shares a few of his kinks. Otherwise Heeseung won't enjoy the sex, and neither will his s/o. So heres a small look at a few of his kinks....as the older one in the relationship.
-Daddy kink...of course -Choking....
-Degradation -Breeding
-Hair pulling
Heeseung has a lot to give and he really does love his s/o, but another side comes out of his during sex.
"S-Shit just like that" Heeseung holds a tight grip on your hair, not letting you breath as he pushes more of his fat cock down your throat. "You look so cute" He hums, watching you struggle to take his cock. Eyes dropping small tears, he brings his thumb to your cheek, wiping it away. Pulling his hands off your hair, he holds your jaw softly. Pulling his hips back, Heeseung slowly thrusts forward, careful to not hurt you. "Taking daddy's cock so well....aren't you princess?" Humming on his cock, the vibrations send him closer to his release. Pulling his hips back, he thrusts forward again, his cock pulsing against your throat, but he already knows where he wants to cum, in your tight pussy.
Jay
When fucking his younger s/o, Jay can be pretty vanilla, unless a switch is pulled.
With his small range of kinks, sex can almost get boring with Jay. at night in your cozy bed, or in a warm shower, possibly against the counters in the kitchen? Thats what you get when you've been good.
But if you've been a brat on purpose, then Jay gets kinky. Fucking you rough into the bed, against the cold tiles in the shower, against the wall even in a public space if he really has to put you back in your place.
Sure to wake up with bruises the next day, you pussy won't be the only thing in pain.
"Thought I wouldn't mad, pissed even?" Jay scoffs, pushing his cock deep into your pussy. You squirm beneath him, barely prepped and needy, there was no way you could stay still. "You could have just waited an hour more" Jay hums, before thrusting in your pussy. You squeal from the force. "Wanted you" You cry out, trying to pull Jay's body close to yours. Not letting you, Jay scoffs in response. "So you are a slut" Sliding in and out if your pussy with ease, Jay wasn't even surprised to see his cock glistening with your arousal.
Jake
Like Heeseung, Jake can get pretty freaky. With the power dynamics flowing when he fucks you, Jake is sure to care for you later, after he fucks you good.
But Jake can be a simple man as well. While he also has his kinks and freaky side, there are only a few places Jake actually enjoys fucking you. In his car and in front of a mirror.
If Jake were to have an older s/o, he'd be the one on his knees, the one begging for pussy. But as the older one....Jake not only makes you beg for his cock, but forces you to work for it, if he's feeling mean.
Leaning back into his leather car seats, Jake smirks as you practically cry on his lap, begging for his cock. "Need you so bad Jakey....please" Your hips rut against his growing bulge. Lips pouting, Jake couldn't say no. "You want my fat cock? Want me to break you pussy?" Jake asks, already knowing the answer. You nod her head quickly, hips rutting against his clothed cock more. "Go on then" Sliding off his lap, you pull down his pants, eager to get his cock. Jake slouches more into the seat, just as eager to feel your wet pussy.
Sunghoon
While Sunghoon is quieter and more reserved, he is loud and gets what he wants during sex.
Unlike the others, he doesn't always get pleasure from degrading you, but he does love you begging for him. Not just for his cock, but even begging him to eat you out.
Sunghoon isn't too crazy or freaky when fucking you, but he does like to try new things out with you. If he's seen something while watching porn or heard about something from a friend like Jake, Sunghoon at some point, would want to try it with you.
"You so small" Sunghoon holds back his owns moans. Breathing through your mouth, no words came out as he fucked your pussy hard. "So tight..." He pushes his head into the crook of your neck. Feeling his breath in your collarbone, you whine out, the closet you came to forming a word. "Feel good?" Almost framed as a rhetorical question, Sunghoon didn't need an answer. He knew he was fucking you good, he knew you were in heaven. Pulling his hips back to fuck you tight pussy, he knew he made the right choice to find a younger s/o.
Sunoo
Sex won't change much with a younger s/o.
While he is older, possibly taller then you and possibly stronger then you, most likely you will still lead when having sex.
Like all subs, Sunoo has his moments where he'll want to fuck your mouth hard or fuck your pussy till your oozing with his cum, but more then often, he lies back and lets you ride him. For Sunoo, sex is for pleasure, and that doesn't have to be in a painful way.
"Keep going baby" Sunoo sighs, fingers squeezing into your nails as you ride him. Pussy swallowing his cock, Sunoo was in heaven. "Getting tired" You pace soon slows down. Having ridden him for nearly an hour, you were feeling more then cramps in your thighs. "Want me to fuck you then? Finally fill your pussy with my cum?" Squeezing his cock, you nod you head quickly. Switching position, you now lye on your back. More then ready to enter your already wet pussy, Sunoo wastes no time. "Fuck....been wanting to do this for a while" Sunoo pistons into your pussy, eager to make his promise.
Jungwon
Power dynamics don't always show in your relationship, if anything giving him a blowjob is the only power dynamic.
Yes, Jungwon loves you and he loves to have vanilla sex, but when he's stressed out or just feeling...like he wants be the one in control, he'll want a bj. It's simple, but shows how cute and small you are as you kneel below him, taking everything he gives you.
"Don't rush yourself" Jungwon laughs at your eagerness to swallow his whole length. Slowing yourself down, you begin to stroke his cock. "Just wanna taste you already" Jungwon nearly melts at the cuteness of your voice. Even if you weren't, you acted so innocent. Wrapping your hand over his cock, you suck his mushroom tip. Making direct eye contact with Jungwon, it was only a matter of minutes before he was gonna fuck your mouth.

It's not that I hate fanon or that I think fanon is inherently less intelligent or morally wrong, but a LOT of fanon is based in racism, misogyny, and classism that I feel like a lot of you accept without question.
WHY is Duke (Daredevil, son of a god, has never once allowed himself to be defined by anyone's actions but his own) relegated to a background role, only characterized by reacting to the whims of other bats?
Why is Babs - Birds of Prey leader and backbone of the hero society, tells Bruce to fuck off and die 4 times a day and is constantly ruining her relationships by being biased and unhinged - Gotham bound, the mature responsible mom of the group who never argues with Bruce and never gets in trouble?
Why is Dick, both a tactical genius and master manipulator, a himbo only appreciated for his sex appeal? Especially when he is both Romani (group of people demonized and condemned as hypersexual by their nature alone) and an SA victim.
WHY is Damian "feral" and "uncivilized" despite being raised as a literal prince? Half of you treat him like a sociopath with no hope of redemption for an unfunny three second joke and the other half of you go full throttle into Bruce's white savior bullshit so that Damian can be "redeemed". Y'know when you're not villainizing Talia and acting like Dick is his other parent, actually.
WHY is Stephanie - extremely intelligent detective who can't stand Bruce and has a living mother she loves - lumped in as another member of the Batfam, a blonde ditz who only cares about prank wars and emotionally supporting Tim?
WHY is Cass - intelligent, a grown adult, suicidal perfectionist - emotionally intelligent, primarily existing to support the characters around her, immediately accepting of everyone she meets regardless of her own morals?
Why is Bruce the golden standard? Enough so that though everyone in the fandom could agree that he's an emotionally unstable wreck, being considered "the most like him" is seen as a compliment and not the HIGHEST insult? Everyone would agree if I said that Bruce purposely self sabotages his relationship half the time and the other half he simply does things without caring about the emotional impact it will have on people because he has to be the smartest in the room, but if I said that makes him a shit partner and emotionally abusive parent the fandom would bend over backwards to argue with me.
Why is Tim "the best Robin" when Dick Grayson invented the mantle, it is impossible for someone to embody the spirit of Robin better than him because he made it and he created what being Robin means. Maybe Tim is the best in Bruce's eyes, but what Robin means and who has the right to give it over was a significant thing they argued about. Tim the high school drop out, and yet also somehow the smartest? Tim "the most like Bruce" except no he's not, that's Cass. Poor neglected, abused, victimized little Timmy (the rich boy at the elite boarding school with loving albeit busy parents and almost every instance of him being victimized by another character has either been racist bullshit - The Al Ghuls and Rose Wilson- or a complete 180 for the character that made no sense when examined through the lens of prior characterization - Jason for instance.)
Almost every fanon trope that gets passed around like gospel seems to deliberately push POC characters and women into the background and strip them of interesting complex traits and stories, usually for the purpose of fitting them all into bite sized incorrect quote character types and uncomplicated narrative roles that are not only completely divergent from canon, but primarily exist to prop up the two rich white boys.
Also the insistence that Bruce, a 20 year old at the time, should actually be excused for how much he mentally and emotionally fucked Dick up because really they're more like siblings! While deciding that Dick at the same age was actually the perfect candidate to be Damian's new parent/guardian...have you lost the fucking plot you don't even make sense to yourselves.
Okay I lied at the beginning, I do hate fanon. You guys are so uncritical about the media you consume it is BEYOND just letting people enjoy things and have fun. I guess it's one thing if you KNOW this stuff isn't canon and UNDERSTAND why these tropes are problematic and you engage with it as such, it's fine read and write what you want, but just spreading the same nonsense around and parading it around as "better than canon" (version of the character so bland and boring you've somehow made the old white men at DC look like geniuses in the art of representation) is just infuriating.
#I didn't talk about Jason because every other post I make is about how bad fanon has fucked him up#and I would have mentioned Helena but honestly her being pushed out of the family is more a matter of people not reading comics#I wouldn't consider Jason her “replacement” accept in the moral philosophy department#wherein Helena feels an inherent guilt that Jason simply doesn't#and while Helena is firmly an anti hero Jason is willing to kill heroes if it means accomplishing his goals#I do think there's something to be said about his fanon relationship to Bruce and Cass#that directly replaces Helena's actual canon relationships though#If any of you bring up the Catholic Jason headcanon I'll kill you#I made posts about that already she did not trademark Catholicism#dc#canon vs fanon#bruce wayne#dick grayson#damian wayne#stephanie brown#cassandra cain#Barbara Gordon#duke thomas#tim drake#It IS really weird how you guys keep giving Bette Kanes actual canon identity to random people#like damn you couldn't even do a cursory Google search before you gave Wally or Tim or w/e her mantle

i know some of you have been pressing your faces to the glass waiting for me to see this one in particular SO i saw "the nurses" the other night and am still thinking about it!!
i love love love it when characters get pushed to a point where you can almost see their childhood selves pop out, like are they even talking about what's happening right now? or are their 12-year-old hearts just screaming?? i love that margaret's outburst is both irrational (the hostile work environment is coming from inside the house; i was yelling at my tv "baby it's your fault!!!") and so so honest.
[this turned into a bit of a character thesis, so not only is there a readmore, there will also be a reblog soon with the rest of the post because i maxed out the image limit] [edit: part ii now in the reblogs!]
this whole time, margaret has treated her subordinates with a heavy hand because she thinks it's the right and fair thing to do. the rules say this is how it works!
she maintains a high standard of excellence in brutal circumstances, but she's also reactive, moody, and unforgiving. she's often shown on the edge of losing control and authority, she inflames situations by overreacting, and the thing she punishes most egregiously is disrespect (toward frank, toward the army, toward herself). she intentionally underlines the distance between herself and the other nurses at every turn.
from season 3 "there's nothing like a nurse": [all IDs in alt]
really, everything she thinks and does comes from a place of "they're not supposed to like me," but the childish part of her that is completely unable to see her own behavior is confused and hurt because "i'm just doing my job so why don’t they like me???"
it's her job to maintain discipline, but especially here in 4077-land, she doesn't have to lead with the whip. henry was beloved because he was an overly permissive clown, which will never be her speed, but colonel potter has all the same training as she does. he's loved and respected as the Good Regular Army Guy because he leads with discernment and mutual respect.
it's easier for him. he's more experienced, he's respected and supported from above and below, and he has a calm temperament — which isn't nothing.
from season 4 "the interview":
whether she's aware of this as a problem or not, we at home can see how margaret's inability to control her emotional reactivity causes her as much grief as her inability to control other people.
if she were capable of laughing off small slights, hawkeye and trapper wouldn't have used her as a chew toy so much, and henry might have taken her real concerns more seriously if they weren't lost in the noise of daily fits, you know? she rarely started it, so i'm not blaming her for the hostile chaos circus of seasons 1-3, but i am saying she would have had a better time if she knew how to take a few deep breaths.
this description from the script, after the near-brawl in the nurses' tent in act one, is basically her character thesis statement:
and here, when she's reacting fully emotionally, the truth comes out! the reason that she won't be flexible and show compassion to the nurses isn't because of the rules, but because they're mean to her!!
that's obviously a very bad place to lead from. she has enormous institutional power over them, including controlling their freedom of movement, but she feels like all the other girls in school are hanging out together and they hate her. because they are! and they do! the fight in act one boils over when they make fun of her hair, and that sent all of them back to middle school.
and in many ways, that's where margaret's emotional maturity is stuck (which is, i think, why i find her so endearing). she can't see herself. she knows they don't like her, trust her, or want her around, but she doesn't understand how she dug this hole herself, or how to get out of it.
to add insult to jealous injury, one of the nurses (mary jo, who gets between margaret and baker to stop the fight and takes care of the others in different ways) is margaret's age, and the others look to her as their chosen leader and personal support.
and i'm sure margaret had NO IDEA this was the messy truth until she heard it come out of her mouth.
and her emotionally breaking on the "one lousy cup of coffee" in particular…
i wonder, how often does some version of that first tent scene happen? does she deliver their assignments every night? she walks in already defensive, they immediately stop laughing, and then... she either finds a reason to scold them or they ice her out until she leaves. (and they probably start laughing again as soon as she does!)
from her perspective, when she arrived for the dreaded sleepover and they turned out the lights the minute she walked in, it's like they cancelled the nightly coffee klatch just to avoid spending one social minute with her.
i also think the nurses are right when they assumed that she wouldn't have accepted an invitation to hang out with them (and might even have snapped at them for being inappropriate for asking). she doesn't cross that emotional line, even when she should — she didn't know gaynor was spiraling after losing so many patients in a row, and didn't respond compassionately when she learned.
has she ever invited them for coffee or a friendly chat? no.
...... but her circumstances have recently changed.
[reblog with the rest of it is here!]

Heyo! just have a little questionroni.
What would replace the event that caused basically all of act 5 & 6 since you've mentioned the Sif friendquest can't be entirely messed up like it was in the original canon?
would it have some connection to memory of promise perhaps?
There is no one on one equivalent of act 5 and 6, i know is a wild move on my part but the family has each other, they can support each other in their times of need or just... relate to the experience of being in a time loop, even when they are at their most stressed they are never fully isolated, which is important since each family member have a different breaking point and there is always at least one person who can go "hey, don't give up, let's try something new. let's visit loop. let's take a break this one loop. let's test x, y, z theories. We ARE doing progress." and even if that result in comflict, at least they are getting angry, at least they are talking.
There is a creeping despair as the loops keep piling and sometimes bad things happen but the equivalent of Siffrin's "The king needs to be defeated by ME for the loop to break," frantic goal/desperate need for hope wouldn't happen, not to that extreme to every family member, during the same loop, which was what made Siffrin spiral into a "can't waste time can't waste time need efficiency can't waste time, just say your lines faster i need you to be strong!!" and pushed him to be a dick.
So what I do have is not a 'shit shit shit shit!!' arc like act 5, but different breaking points/characters arcs sprinkled all over the au. spoiler for said arcs below (or at least the base of them)
Mirabelle is constantly repeating the day were everyone expect her to save Vaugard, which is not that bad when she believes the loops will stop once they beat the king but it is a nightmare after they win and STILL loop back. And her mother/caretaker figure who was the had put all that trust on her has grown into a shadow of herself. She snaps, she have no patience for siffrin's "are you scared for tomorrow? is okay mira, the change god themselves blessed you, we will beat the king" again when she already beat the stupid king and the change god seem to have cursed her.
Bonnie doesn't understand what is happening, not fully, just that they are never getting closer to saving Nille, nothing is changing, and there is a palpable distance between them and Siffrin whenever a loop reset, they hate it, and they snap at Siffrin a lot cause "Frin won't even crabbing remember anyway!s" on their peak of hopelessness (they do still admire Frin so much so that's why they target him a lot, and Bonnie is hurt but they are also kind. They do eventually forgive Siffrin for not remembering, focusing instead of helping him )
Odile grows colder when she realizes Siffrin is somewhat involved. She will do unspeakable things to protect her friends, but Siffrin is one of her friends too so she needs to get a little desensitized to pushing Shiffrin for answers even when they aren't comfortable being pushed. It isn't good for them either to be in a time loop after all, and they won't remember anyway.
Isabeau doesn't have a 'drastic snap' arc, he is too emotionally controlled/mature and cowardly to have that when the team is already stressed. He is a tough cookie to crack, everyone leaves the loop before it happens, but don't be fooled, it does absolutely take a tool on him.
None of these little arcs happen simultaneously.
Act six is just a few loose ideas bouncing in my head as of now tho.

being married to emily prentiss would include
• emily is extremely empathetic and compassionate, and being married to her means having a partner who truly cares about your feelings and well-being. she makes a conscious effort to ensure you feel valued, loved, and understood.
• her love for adventure and her extensive knowledge of different cultures would mean you’d have a shared interest in traveling. from spontaneous weekend getaways to well-planned vacations, exploring new places together would be a common theme in your marriage.
• after a rough case, emily often comes home late at night feeling emotionally drained. you’d be there to comfort her, perhaps by listening to her talk about her day, offering cuddles, or just being there in silence. knowing you’re there for her would make all the difference.
• despite the seriousness of her job, emily has a great sense of humor. your marriage would be full of inside jokes, playful teasing, and laughter. she loves to see you smile, and her witty comments would often bring a lightheartedness to even the most stressful days.

• despite her love for adventure, emily also appreciates quiet nights at home. you’d spend many evenings wrapped up in a blanket, binge-watching your favorite tv shows or movies, with takeout food spread out in front of you. these simple moments would be some of her favorites.
• emily is known for her strength, but with you, she’d feel safe showing her vulnerable side. whether she’s grappling with self-doubt or stress from a particularly harrowing case, she’d confide in you, knowing you won’t judge her.
• you’re always concerned about her whenever she’s out on a case, and she’s always concerned about leaving you on your own because she knows what kind of people are out there.
• emily enjoys socializing and would love hosting friends and family at your home. whether it’s a dinner party, a holiday celebration, or just a casual get-together, she’d enjoy planning these events and seeing everyone come together.
• no relationship is without its disagreements, but with emily, conflicts are always handled with maturity. she’s used to managing high-pressure situations, so she’d approach any arguments calmly, ensuring that communication is clear and that both of you feel heard and respected.
• emily knows how crucial it is to balance work and personal life. even though her job can be all-consuming, she’d make a conscious effort to prioritize your relationship, setting aside time for just the two of you. whether it’s a weekly date night or a quiet morning together, she’d cherish these moments.
• as a profiler, emily is very observant and attentive, often picking up on the little things you like or want. she’d surprise you with thoughtful gifts that show how well she knows you, from a book by your favorite author to a memento from a special place you once visited together.
• the two of you love supporting local businesses, you’ve always thought that people should support the locals and it was a nice thing to do together. shopping is always fun when it’s you and emily.
• emily buys you things ALL THE TIME. when you mention wanting to go to a restaurant, you end up going the next night. if you mention a new book release, she either marks it on her calendar to buy it for you on release day or preorders it.
• you guys love trying new alcoholic drinks together. if the team ever wanted to try a new one, they’d come to your house first because you’d likely have it.
• you two have built a remarkable life together, filled with ease, comfort, security, and love. it’s something you wouldn’t trade for anything in the world. <33

Small astro observations ☕️🤍
• Those with cancer moon in the 1st house come across “witchy,” some may even describe them as moody or reserved. There’s a certain kind of witchyness in them that I like 👀 my best friend has this placement, and she knows how to read peoples energy just by looking at them. I believe that’s her source of witchyness.
• She also has a youthful, round face. Being ruled by moon, her features are softer and delicate.
• Also, her moon is in Leo. This astrological polarity creates lots of unique sides in the native. Other people may think of these sides as “contradictory,” but the native can be very deep as a person. They explore all parts of themselves, and if they haven’t, part of their mission in their lifetime is to embrace all aspects of themselves, regardless of what others think.
• Jupiter in Leo people don’t chase that bag 💅🏻 they CREATE. They do enjoy when others buy things for them and when men especially (if the woman has this placement) provide for them financially. Men with this placement don’t like to rely on others for money, their pride comes with having a lot of money under their belt.
• Pluto in the 2nd house goes through radical financial changes. Whether that’s due to an issue with being careless with their money, to an event happening outside of them that causes them to struggle financially. The native does not feel secure financially and feels worried. Depending on the aspects in the natives chart, they can attract abundance just as easily as they lost their bag 💅🏻
• Earth mercuries and leaving their phone on DND, or ignoring notifications to preserve their peace 😌👋 hi ya’ll.
• A capricorns loyalty is not one to be messed with, especially if the native has healed past wounds, and is self aware. They have the ability to hold themselves accountable and do better. However, I’ve noticed capricorns who haven’t worked through their past issues have no problem leaving you to struggle, and only coming back when they need help.
• Male capricorns, if your father figure was not structured and present emotionally, do yourself a favor and go to therapy ☕️🤷🏻♀️ it’ll help you tons. Especially those with Saturn retrograde in the chart, because Saturn represents the father. If the natives sun placement is afflicted, the same applies here.
• I knew a guy with Saturn in the 10th house retrograde definitely had daddy issues growing up, and still does. The father relies on his child to be cared for, instead of the other way around. The father finds himself struggling to provide basic living, so the child takes on the stress of providing for the parent at a young age.
• Virgo placements & libra…what’s up with wanting to be hidden? I’ve met a man who at the time was struggling mentally, was borderline checking out of reality. He couldn’t hold a proper conversation without his head being lost in some far land 🤣 every topic was too vague, and too abstract for it to make sense. And as soon as I asked his placement and guessed it correctly, he gave me a look and said he didn’t like what I knew of him. He was bothered and seen 👀
• Virgo venus, ya’ll females are so beautiful. Even though venus doesn’t like it here, there’s something so beautiful, and effortless about these individuals. They may have a mature look depending on their other placements, and aspects.
Thats all I have! Thank you all for reading and supporting 👋☺️ this was fun to create. Feel free to add on and share your thoughts!

How to Subvert Expectations Without Compromising The Story
Whoo boy, is this a contentious topic with the last few blockbuster franchises. To “subvert expectations” is to do the opposite of whatever your audience expects to happen. Your audience expects the story to go a certain way based on the archetypes and tropes your characters follow, the tone you’ve set for your story, and the level of mature themes that tone allows.
It might mean your long-lost princess doesn’t actually reclaim the throne she’s been fighting for. Or the presumed hero (or any of their straight friends) of the story dies halfway through their arcs. The mentor pegged for death actually survives to the end credits. The villain’s plan actually succeeds, or the heroes fail to deactivate the bomb before it explodes. The “will they/won’t they” is never fulfilled.
Supporters of SE argue the following:
It’s refreshing, novel, new, a fun twist on a classic tale
They like that it’s unpredictable and bold
They’re tired of stories fitting within the same wheel ruts of every other story that came before and like to see creativity thrive
It gives audiences something they didn’t even know they wanted
Haters of SE argue this:
It’s only done for drama at the cost of fulfilling character arcs
It’s a cheap gag that only works once and has zero rewatchability with the same impact
Tropes and archetypes have stood the test of time for a reason - to entertain
Plot holes ensue
When expectations are subverted and the story changes in a more positive light (like a beloved character who doesn’t die when we all think they will), the reaction is not nearly as emotionally charged as when the story changes negatively. Thus, the haters have plenty of evidence of bad examples, but minimize the good ones. Good SE is novel, or a pleasant surprise, or a quaint relief. Bad SE trashes the story and spits on the fans and destroys the legacy of the fandom.
What makes a bad subversion?
Like killing any character for shock value, bad SE takes all of the potential of a good story and gambles it for a string of gasps in the movie theater. It exists only to keep the audience on their toes, or because the writer went out of their way to change the direction of their work when fans figured out the mystery too quickly and now *must* prove all the clever sleuths wrong.
So, say your subversion is making the hero lose a tournament arc when they made it all the way to the final round and the entire story is riding on this victory. They may have stumbled along the way and had some near-misses, but they must win. Not just so the audience cheers, but because this is the direction their arc must take to be at all entertaining and fulfilling.
Then they lose, because it’s *novel* and irreparable consequences are reaped in the aftermath. They lose when, by rights, they were either stronger or smarter or faster than their opponent. They lose when the hand of the author rigs the fight against them and everyone notices.
Sure, it’s not at all what audiences expect, but you, writer, your first responsibility to the people consuming your content is to entertain them. So what purpose does this loss serve this character? How does it impact their arc, the themes that surround them, the message of your story?
Even if mainstream audiences don’t care on the surface about themes and motifs, they still know when a story fumbles. It’s not entertaining anymore, it’s not satisfying. Yes, crap happens in reality, but this is fiction. If I wanted to read about some tragic hero’s bitter and unsatisfying demise, I’d read about any losing side in any war ever in a history book. I picked up a fiction book for catharsis.
On the topic of “gritty fantasy/sci-fi anyone can die and no one is safe” – no author has the guts to roll the dice and kill whoever it lands on. Some characters will always have plot armor. Why? Because you wouldn’t have a story otherwise, you’d just have a bloody, gory, depressing reality TV show with hidden cameras.
What makes a good subversion?
Now. What if this character loses the final round of their tournament, but it’s their own fault? Maybe they get too cocky. Maybe it’s perfectly, tragically in character for them to fall on their own sword. Maybe the audience is already primed with the knowledge that this fight will be close, that there might be foul play involved, but still deny that it will happen because that’s the hero, they won’t lose. Until they do.
Then, it’s not the hand of the author, it’s this character’s flaws finally biting them in the ass. It’s still disappointing, no doubt, but then the audience is less mad at the author and more mad at the dumbass character for letting their ego get to their head.
If you write a character who’s entire goal in life is to win that trophy, or reclaim their throne, or get the girl, and they *don’t* do those things, then the “trophy” had better be the friends they made along the way, that they learned it wasn’t the trophy, it was something *better* and even though they lost, they still won. Even when expectations are shredded, the story still has to say something, otherwise the audience just feels like they wasted their time.
A good subversion does not compromise the soul of the narrative. You might kill a fan favorite character or even the hero of the story, but their impact on the characters they leave behind is felt until the very end. The hero might lose her tournament, but she still walks away with wisdom, maturity, and new friends. Heck, sports movies leave the winner of the big game a toss-up more often than not. Audiences know the game is important, but they know the character they’re following is even more important. Doesn’t matter if the *team* loses the battle, so long as the protagonist wins the Character Development war.
Good SE that should be more popular:
The “Trial of threes” – your hero faces three obstacles and usually botches the first two and succeeds on the third attempt. Subvert it by having them win on the first or second, lose all three, or have a secret fourth
Not killing your gays. Just. Don’t do it. That’ll subvert expectations just fine, won’t it?
Let the villain win
Have your hero’s love interest not actually interested in them because they realize they deserve better / Have the hero realize they don’t want the romantic subplot they thought they did
Have the love triangle become a polycule / have the two warring love interests get with each other instead, or both find someone they don’t have to compete for
Mid-redemption villain backslides at the Worst Moment Possible
Hero doesn’t actually have all the MacGuffins necessary at the Worst Moment Possible
Hero is simply wrong, about anything, about important things, about themselves
The character who knows too much still can’t warn their friends in time, but lives instead with the guilt of their failure
The mentor lives and becomes a bitter rival out to maintain their spot at the top of the charts
Kill the hero, and make the villain Regret Everything
More deadbeat missing parents, not just dead parents
Let the hero live long enough to become the villain
—
Why write a crown prince that never becomes king? What’s the point of his story if all he does is remain exactly who he was on page 1 and learns nothing for his efforts? Why write a rookie racer if he spins out in the infield in the big race and ends his story broken and demoralized in a hospital bed? Why should we, the audience, spend time and emotional investment on a story that goes nowhere and says nothing?
Cinderella always gets a happy ending no matter how many iterations her story gets, because she wouldn’t be Cinerella if she remained an abused orphan with no friends. We like predictability, we like puzzling out where we think the story will go based on the crumbs of evidence we pick up along the way, we like interacting with our fiction and patting ourselves on the back when we’re proven right.
Tragedies exist. There’s seven types of stories and the fall from grace is one of them… but audiences can see a tragedy coming from a mile away. Audiences sign up for a tragedy when they pay for the movie ticket. We know, no matter how much we root for that character to make better choices, that their future is doomed. Tragedy is still cathartic.
What’s not cathartic is being bait-and-switched by a writer who laughs and snaps pictures of our horrified faces just so they can say they proved us wrong. Congratulations? Go ahead and write the rookie broken in the hospital bed. I can’t stop you. Just don’t be shocked when no one wants to watch your misery parade march on by.

in your hs au, it’s really sweet how bucky takes care of and supports gale when he’s dealing with his issues. how does gale do the same when bucky isn’t feeling well? are their love languages different? love your writing btw so so obsessed 💗
Great question, dear! Thank you for reading this au 💕 I think this is going to be a long answer, I hope you don’t mind...
Bucky’s issues haven't been explored in depth yet because he doesn’t have to start facing them and they don’t get unmanagable until after Gale's suicide attempt in their last high school year. So the biggest challenges for him only come during college. It’s the opposite for Gale, who struggles in high school but gets better in college.
Bucky’s main issue comes from growing up with his dad not being around for long stretches of time and then, later, when the man was discovered to be cheating, leaving altogether. He never contacts Bucky. Never sends him gifts or anything, doesn’t care about him. This is so damaging to Bucky's self-esteem that he can’t accept it and therefore clings to (inaccurate) childhood memories of a father who loves and appreciates him.
For example, the sheepskin jacket he keeps wearing was his dad's. It’s only a few years into college that he reaches the point where he's ready to part from it for good. He donates it to charity, and Gale goes with him to support him.
How do Bucky's issues manifest?
Anxiety, excessive worry that something will happen to his loved ones or that they'll stop loving him
Clinginess, severe distress if he has to be alone
Overinvolvement and lack of boundaries with his loved ones
Jealousy
Resistance to certain changes (e.g. relationship dynamics)
As you can imagine, the severity of some of these is not recognized until his entire situation is upended due to high school ending. Moreover, it exacerbates these issues that both his own mom and Gale like the depth of his attachment and therefore it takes longer for them to realize just how not okay some things are.
But onto your actual question - how does Gale support Bucky when he struggles with these?
In general, Gale is a very calm person, so he's good at bringing Bucky down from an anxious spiral. Like he brings him down from overexcitement in Words of Wisdom.
Gale staying over and being there when Georgia has to travel for business is a massive help. He’s always there for Bucky and makes sure he doesn’t feel alone.
He listens when Bucky wants to talk about his dad. Bucky can’t discuss it that well with Georgia since she's also emotionally involved.
In high school, he also indulges a lot of Bucky's coping methods, like letting Bucky touch him and cling to him all the time, spending almost every minute with him, sleeping in his bed, creating habits/jokes/etc. that are exclusive to the two of them to reassure Bucky. These help short-time, but not long-time.
His ability to support Bucky is put more to the test in college. First, they go through a rough transition, and that brings Bucky's problems to light by the time they make up. Thankfully, they’re mature enough at this point to actually recognize the issues and work on them together.
For the rest of their college years, Gale is a steady support through Bucky's long, gradual healing process. He’s very patient with him and helps him push on when he gets distressed.
An interesting and difficult challenge comes when Bucky begins to understand that his mom isn’t perfect either and it was partially her fault that he developed these attachment issues. It causes Bucky a lot of uncertainty and distress, but Gale comforts him and helps him calm down.
Then, at one point, Bucky finally decides to find his own dad and visit him. Gale helps with this too.
As Bucky accepts that his father doesn’t give a shit about him, his self-esteem takes a blow, but Gale makes sure to praise him and show how loved he is to build it back up.
Gale also helps him build boundaries. Between the two of them too, and that's important for their relationship, but also with his mom. Like, not calling his mom every single day for an hour, not worrying that he’ll lose her love if he doesn’t call.
Love languages
*I always struggle with headcanons with this concept, because I feel like they're all important, but let's try.
Gale:
He starves for physical affection, so that's the primary thing he needs, but he doesn’t initiate it for a long time.
Words of affirmation might be his second, and that works out really well because Bucky is both touchy-feely and chatty, enjoys praising and loving on Gale.
But Gale also craves quality time with people he loves because he doesn’t get enough of that with his parents.
Bucky:
He needs quality time together more than anything.
I think Bucky really treasures objects he associates with his loved ones, so receiving gifts could be something important to him.
But then, words of affirmation help with his anxiety, so that's also something he likes to receive. He treasures Gale's love letter-like texts for example.
Phew, okay, very long reply, but I hope it was interesting! Let me know if you guys have other questions or headcanons. 🩷

So a post made by @deszczowedni of Fem! Labru where they mention Fem! Laios being a single mom dungeoning and the canon genderbent Chilchuck from the magic mirror extra leaving the party for her family is giving me massive brain rot so have a quick summary of the resulting Single Moms AU that is rotting my brain.
Laios and Chilchuck are both dungeoning to support their families after their respective divorces.
Laios was put into an arranged marriage pretty much as soon as she was of marrying age thanks to her shitty father. While she and her husband were never in love, things were fine for a while and they were both at least mostly content… except Laios is still Laios. She still yearns for life outside the village, still nerds out over monsters, and still has the same social issues even if fem! Laios can mask just a teensy bit better. So, after several years (and the birth of their daughter) her husband’s resentment towards her comes to a head and he divorces Laios and abandons their young daughter looking for a fresh start. And despite knowing she should be more upset, Laios feels more relieved than anything. She saw this divorce as her chance to finally leave her village so despite her family’s wishes and advice she flees with her daughter. She rents a room in a town near the school she encouraged Falin to attend and tries to make things work as a single mother. However, money is tight. Very tight. And the odd jobs she picks up aren’t making ends meet anymore. So with Falin’s help she turns to dungeoning to make some more money for her and her daughter while a few helpful staff at the academy watch her daughter. Fast forward to current day and her daughter is finally old enough to actually attend the academy full time (between 8 and 10 years old since Marcille met Falin when she was 10) but that means money is even tighter as she has to scrounge up tuition but it also means she can spend more time in the dungeon at a time without worrying about her daughter’s safety.
For Chil, not that much changes. Chil is still a middle-aged, union-leading parent of 3 adult daughters. However, in this AU when Chil’s wife left, she didn’t go live with one of their daughters, she disappeared off the face of the earth. This causes their children to begin to worry like mad about her and about Chil as none of them know where the hell she went. As much as a part of Chil wants to go looking for her wife, another part of her is too emotionally constipated to face all of her feelings about her wife’s disappearance and chooses to instead focus on financially supporting her daughters who ARE busy looking for their mother. She feels a bit bad about disappearing into the dungeon when her kids are so emotionally distraught over one mother’s disappearance already so she makes a point to write all three whenever she’s on the surface with updates on where she is and where she will be. Chil still doesn’t tell her party shit except vague mentions of having to stay on top of family matters with no other context.
Laios is the only one that knows Chil has kids but assumes they are about the same age/ maturity as her daughter.
Senshi’s role doesn’t really change, she’s a kindly middle aged dwarven woman who lives in the dungeon eating monsters.
Falin and Marcille basically have the same general backstory too but are just men in this AU. Falin has been dungeoning to support his sister and niece and Marcille started tagging along for both research and Falin.
Izutsumi remains completely unchanged because I find that to be funnier. She’s not even genderbent. She’s just Izutsumi.
Pt. 2 (Name Guide)
Pt. 3 (Laios' timeline)
Pt. 4 (Chilchuck's timeline)

Vivziepop and Bojack Horseman: Learning the Wrong Lesson
Vivienne Medrano started her writing career on a comic by the name Zoophobia. A comic that lacked any sense of story whatsoever. While she would argue with comments about the lack of purpose by saying the story was Slice of Life, it was a forewarning of her future to come.
The story started with a concept of overcoming prejudice, but was quickly washed over with a bombardment of a large ensamble cast at the very start before introducing a whole separate but attached world that spun off into Hazbin Hotel. At no point actually finding a reason to care about the original premise of a prejudicial school counselor overcoming those qualities to help those around them that were substantially different from them.
Rather, Medrano has perpetuated the misnomer that Slice of Life is the same as storyless. And that's the greatest misunderstanding of a genre that can be achieved. Slice of Life being deemed meaningless time wasting as you look into the dull happenings of someone else's benign problems is a childish perspective.
Slice of life is the cornerstone of coming of age narratives like Grave of the Fireflies. For young adults, a slice of life mature story about what it means to grow up, or inner child healing, or how to move on would be a niche that could shape a generation for the better. Especially in our Era of the internet where most of us have spent more time learning socialization online.
Where people are stripped of their humanity and nuance, and tone is read into lettering on the cold blue light of a screen in the dark. Unless this little pixelated square and string of text makes me feel important by either agreeing with me and thus making me feel worth through their "support" for my beliefs or flatter me and validating my existence before disagreeing with my points, they are the villain of the second.
And especially being a show released at the height of a world trapped in quarantine, where all our sense of community and humanity came through a screen, Helluva Boss seemed to want to be a dark comedy that tackled the topics of damaged inner-children, relationship and abandonment trauma, self worth and moving on from past mistakes, and the complicated minefield of grey morality.
This is not mere conjecture either. Medrano has an outspoken love for shows like Bojack Horseman but lacks the understanding of why this absurd vision of slice of life was so emotionally and mentally profound to an entire generation of young adults. Medrano herself has liked sycophantic tweets comparing Helluva Boss to Bojack Horseman and subtly props herself on these pedestals alongside her idols despite not deserving of the comparison.
Blitz is the show titular Boss of the series and is very obviously a concept inspired by Bojack directly. Both Bojack and Blitz are performing artists, but while Bojack was immensely successful, Blitz was not.
Bojack's history is that of two abusive parents who had no love to spare for him. Instead, his only worth came in the form of performing. It was the only time he felt any ounce of love from his cruel mother, Beatrice, who used him as a means to elevate herself socially while simultaneously feeling any form of worth through the validation of strangers. Bojack is aware his mother was not a great parent, but he has a damaged inner child still desperate to get her approval and affection. Even though he genuinely hates her, he has a lingering empty maw within himself that begs for her love. Bojack suffers from a fear of loss.
When Sarah Lynn drinks his alcohol, he throws the hair dressed under the train to save himself. Despite his honesty having a high chance of being seen as the accident it was and excuses being made for him, Bojack was too insecure to recognize his protection through his popularity. He grew up with a mother who was the definition of conditional, and any small or large mistake could be the catalyst that took everything he had worked and waited for away.
Bojack's sabotaging of Todd also showsbthis fear of loss more blatantly. However, it lacks the understanding as to why Bojack would want to keep Todd near while also chronically putting him down. This is where the lack of understanding best shows between what Medrano thinks is happening and reality.
Blitz begins his story much the same way as Bojack. Instead of a slave driving mother profiting off her son, it's Cash Buckzo, Blitz's father and owner of a circus, who slave drives his children to perform. Blitz loves performing but is not deemed talented enough to be valuable. He has an implied sick, unseen mother who is treated as his motivation for complying with his father.
Medrano doesn't seem to realize that an external motivation lacks the emotional depth needed to have an audience empathize with the character. This is a repeated issue in every character.
Blitz isn't seeking a parent's approval but is instead held hostage by the desire to help someone else, and to do that must be submissive to an authority who has no care for him.
Stolas isn't at war with himself over cheating on his wife due to the fact that he is a gay man in an arranged straight relationship but instead is a victim in his own life. He is told what to do and how to do it by every other person in his life and doesn't have an internal sense of responsibility that he is contending with. He has no needs vs. wants. Instead, his wants are universal. To be loved is a base desire, and Medrano puts no effort into expanding on what that means for her character. Instead, utilizing the natural inclination in her audience to pretend there is depth in Stolas' conflict.
Loona is similarly a victim. She and Stolas are not fighting their own emotions, but the bullies contrived in the plot for them to confront. Her fault isn't her own insecurity that she must overcome. Rather, it is the fault of every other character for not coddling her insecurities due to her having a sad history. Actively fighting against the notion that people should ultimately be responsible for themselves.
This gives the impression of someone who believes a sympathetic past must justify one's behavior in the present. It's a blatant misreading of the idea that everyone has their own storm to navigate. The idea behind that saying is that you should be kind despite what you are going through because it is easy to believe you win the bad day Olympics when you're in the middle of it, not because someone else may be going or has gone through something worse.
Wrapping around, the Todd and Bojack relationship is a clear parallel to the Moxxie and Blitz relationship. But while Medrano uses the line "I'm hard on you because you can do better" as to why Blitz is a chronic asshole to his "friend", the writers of Bojack are not at all interested in justifying abuse. The reason Bojack ruined Todd's chance to leave can be seen as sympathetic because he is afraid of being alone and the loss that comes with that. But he isn't cruel or rude to Todd to make him better, rather it is the systematic disintegration of Todd's sense of ability and self worth to keep him codependent to Bojck and less likely to leave. It is only when Todd is away from Bojack that he actually comes into his true potential. The support of those around him telling him how badly Bojack treats him and instilling confidence in Todd to try things once again ultimately results in him escaping Bojack. It is a slow process for Todd to leave. He doesn't just walk away like it feels in the episode. Rather, he has spent seasons slowly becoming more and more distant from Bojack with new relationships and hobbies, even as Bojack tries to brow beat and insult him into complacency.
Instead, Medrano thinks things just happen from large, grand gestures and emotional beats. That a sad past is a free ticket to being an awful person who is accountable to no one. Much like the villain of Bojack Horseman.

i just wanted to say that i actually love the concept of ihm gojo having an ex wife, like it actually adds so much depth to his character and makes the relationship that reader and him will have much more complex and genuine ESPECIALLY with his ex wife being his childhood friend like first of all him having an ex wife shows he is definitely mentally developed when it comes to relationships also because she’s the ex so the split definitely also probably matured him in a way and alsooo bcs when him and reader actually end up together, it will make it so much more meaningful imo because he’s known his ex for so longgg but he still manages to open up and fall in love with reader like to me those things are so sexy like i love an emotionally mature and experienced man!! people shouldn’t criticize your writing for that like that’s so weirdddd and it also reminds me of that one meme that’s like “oh...so.. __ is my favorite character.. I'm not really comfortable sharing him with others because he means a lot to me. But it's okay if he's your favorite character too!!” LIKE GROW TF UPPP😭
hiiii nia bb thx for the supports :”0
i am so happy u think it adds depth to his character :”) i too think it will lolol despite the odds xd
and yes i love a man that has been thru life altering moments that have matured him🧎🏻♀️that is so seggcy to me. i had hoped everyone would share the vision but 💀
same!! that’s also what i had in mind too. like, is it not sickeningly romantic that despite the fact he’s known his ex wife since he was a child, he chooses reader in the end lol?!?! especially given how mean reader is to him all the time 😂😂 like ffs i want a man that’ll let me tell him to go fuck himself 10x a day but he still wants to come home to ME in the end even tho there’s some other heartbroken woman out there that’s still pining after him….IS THAT NOT SEXY AS FUCK?!?!?!?
that’s why all the ihm gojo ex wife hate was so bizarre to me i was like🧍🏻♀️babes what yall mean. yall dont see the vision im tryna cook here?
BHAHA that meme is so funny but def paints the picture. idk like i could discern some of those asks were just funny, but some were def blatantly rude ab it n it just. idk. wasn’t nice to receive. the one that struck me the most was “HE ACTUALLY LOVED THAT WOMAN?? I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST AN ARRANGED MARRIAGE!! YOURE THE AUTHOR HOW COULD YOU SAY SUCH BULLFUCKERY”
im like babe this isnt a rich ceo gojo fic why would suburban ihm gojo allow himself to be forced into an arranged marriage 😭 dude is a working class real estate agent like what is an arranged marriage gonna accomplish for him? oh yaaay he inherits his wife’s $80k salary. yippee. now time to make an heir. LIKE LMFAO?

I forget how to send asks so I hope this is the place
Who goes to who for advice or just to get things off their chest? Is there someone each wouldn’t go to for advice? Do they all go to Zelda? Like maybe blue wouldn’t go to Zelda for certain things/ all the time cuz idk maybe he wouldn’t want her to know he’s struggling with something? (even though we all know, she already knows when something’s up with her links)
This was sent in by @saltyskychild as a submission and idk how to answer other than editing so my answer below the cut!!!
Gonna start with a list of who goes to who for advice the most and the least!
Green:
Zelda - literally for everything, she knows all his secrets and he knows hers
Blue - to confide in, if he needs a shoulder to lean or cry on and Zelda isn’t available he knows Blue will have his back (and also beat up whatever made him upset)
Vio - for a practical response, he trust Vio and he knows that if he’s lost as to what to do then Vio will have an answer for him
Red - also for emotional support, but he can be a little reluctant because he hates that if he goes to vent and starts crying then Red will cry too and he hates making Red cry
Shadow - don’t get me wrong Green cares for Shadow a whole lot but he knows Shadow doesn’t understand his own feelings most of the time so he doesn’t want to burden Shadow with his own
Red:
Vio - Red often goes to Vio first to find a way to just rant without having to put his thoughts in order, Vio just lets him get it out before helping him sort it all out
Blue - Red LOVES Blue, but he hesitates to confide in him at times because he worries Blue will get a tad too protective and go straight to punching whoever made him sad. He IS Red’s first option when he needs optimal comfort though, like if he feels he needs a hug he will run to Blue (Blue gives the best hugs fight me)
Shadow - mostly to gossip LMFAO, Shadow also gives great hugs and always offers to kill anyone for him, Red has yet to take him up on the offer
Green - Red loves going to Green for comfort, he always listens intently and waits until he’s done to give him his input much like Vio does, Red just hates burdening him because Green is always so busy
Zelda - same as Green, hates burdening her but trusts her 100%, crying on her shoulder is a healing experience
Blue:
Red - Blue knows he can always go to Red, it’s always hard to get him to open up because of his pride but when he does open up it’s always to Red first. He knows Red would never judge him for being vulnerable so when it’s time to break down he only wants Red to see him
Green - Green is Blue’s closest friend, he trusts Green to always keep his secrets and give sound advice, but Green is also going to be his King soon and that makes him want to be even stronger so he can always keep Green safe from inevitable threats
Zelda - Blue has an immense respect for Zelda, as his friend, as a ruler, and as a person overall; he watched her rule her kingdom from a young age and keep the peace all six of them fought hard for. However as his queen he’s sworn loyalty to he tries not to bother her, keeps a respectable distance that Zelda herself tries to narrow
Vio - Blue and Vio’s relationship can seem complicated from an outsiders perspective, they poke and prod, they tease, but as they’ve grown and matured they’ve each learned when its ok to make fun and when you need to back off (it took a lot of trial and error throughout the years trust). Much like the others if Blue needs an answer to a question he will go to Vio, but it’s hard for him to open up emotionally to him because Vio always seems to kept together and he doesn’t want to fall behind
Shadow - to Blue Shadow is super fun to be around, they used to get into a lot of mischief together when they were younger and although they’ve matured a lot they find trouble one way or another. They’re both good friends, but Blue and Shadow are the masters of bottling things up so you won’t catch them having a heart to heart very often
Vio:
Shadow - the love of his life, Shadow knows things about Vio that Vio himself wishes weren’t true. Shadow sometimes understands what Vio needs before he even says it; and Vio doesn’t cry often but the times he has it’s been with Shadow there to put him back together
Red - Red is a great confidant, and Vio’s best friend, and although Vio considers himself the smartest in the group he knows Red has him beat in emotional intelligence, so when it’s his turn to be vulnerable (which he hates) Red helps him prepare for it
Zelda - Vio loves Zelda’s company, she’s smart and witty, yet completely honest with him; in Zelda’s rare free time they’ll sit and have tea together and talk about anything and everything. Vio would never admit it but Zelda is the funniest person he knows (he doesn’t want to hurt Shadow’s feelings)
Green - Vio trusts Green wholeheartedly, he’d put his life in Green’s hands in a heartbeat, but Vio doesn’t like how Green tends to hover so he hesitates to show any distress around him
Blue - as mentioned before Vio and Blue’s relationship is complicated, Vio doesn’t like showing vulnerability around Blue because he knows it makes Blue feel awkward seeing him as anything less than perfectly kept together. However not to say Blue wouldn’t be there for him, he would, they both would, but they try to keep strong in front of each other, it gives them a sense of normalcy and security they often need
Shadow:
Vio - just like it is vice versa, Vio often knows that Shadow is feeling down or overwhelmed before he himself knows, and although Shadow thought he would hate that he doesn’t. Vio is the one who taught him how to feel more than just anger and scorn, Vio gave him his first real laugh of joy, his first tears of sorrow and heartbreak, and even after all that Vio made up for it and taught him that he was able to feel all of that because he was in love. There’s no secrets between them
Zelda - to many people’s surprise Zelda is Shadow’s best friend, when he was first brought back he gravitated towards her, wanting to repay her for making him realize he wasn’t just a puppet of darkness but his own person. She took his emotions in stride and alongside Vio taught him so much about what he feels, so he confides everything to her
Red - Shadow and Red are very close, when Shadow needs a laugh or a smile he’ll rush to Red, he always has kind words for Shadow no matter what, confiding in his isn’t as easy as it is with Vio and Zelda but Red has always understood that and it helps put Shadow at ease. Again they gossip a lot together
Green - Shadow doesn’t go to Green often, much like Vio he doesn’t want him to overly worry and hover, but while he isn’t Shadow’s first option, he always brings a sense of belonging that means a lot to him
Blue - like mentioned earlier Shadow and Blue are masters if bottling things up, most of the time when Shadow goes to Blue it goes “hey this person made Red/Vio/Green/Zelda sad wanna go beat them up together?”
Zelda:
Green - that’s her soulmate, her other half; Green knows Zelda’s deepest fears and worries that she can’t allow herself to share with anyone else. He knows of her visions of the future and her past lives, of how much past wars haunt her, and he holds her through it all, when he proposed he promised to always keep her and her people safe, he would always be a hero worthy of her
Shadow - Zelda loves Shadow, you’d think she’d be scared of him given he was once her kidnapper, but as she’s always said “I wasn’t scared of you then and I’m not scared of you now”. Shadow is only slightly disappointed, but loves how she’ll ask for him when she’s overwhelmed, saying she needs someone who won’t try to sugarcoat anything from her. Zelda knows Shadow would move mountains for her and she would do the same
Vio - Zelda made Vio one of her advisors early on, she values not only his practical knowledge but his resourcefulness as well, they’ve spent many a late night pouring over documents together and its led to deep conversations. Vio takes as much workload off her shoulders as he legally can and she in turn forces him to take breaks
Red - Red is the little brother Zelda always wanted, as a single child who had to grow up too fast having someone so kind and fun to be around is something she cherishes so deeply. When she needs a hug she’ll seek him out, she knows she’ll always leave an encounter with Red with a smile on her face
Blue - Zelda knows she can trust all her boys with her life, and Blue is no exception, they don’t often confide in each other, but let’s just say that after a certain encounter that leaves Green in a terrible state Zelda learns Blue is not as cold hearted as she feared he was, and she’s made an effort to break down his walls. No knight should have to face monsters on their own, wether they be external or internal
So long story short these six idiots all love each other, but as you could have guessed they have certain people they go to for certain worries/situations. I can’t wait to share more on their relationships with one another!

I love it when you dive into the psyche stuff with Margie and Raf. I swear I learn something new about myself every time I read a post about them. It's nice that they're both very patient and supportive with each other and that their struggles overlap in a way that grants them more empathy than they might have had otherwise. That said I'm curious to know how they clash, if at all. Does either of them have symptoms that triggers or exasperates the other's symptoms? How do they manage it?
that makes me so happy, thank you ; 0; <3
aaa so, chiefly, the relationship between these two is built on a pretty fundamental feature of "'winning' a situation/conflict is not more important than my partner's well being"--In that, like, they're both very proactive in looking at their situation and assessing if they're responsible for aggravating the situation/provoking a response, and to what extent. So typically, once they realize a situation has gotten away on them, they're both able to take a pause and even physically separate for a hot moment if need be--and then try and figure out what happened, what can be done, and apologize in earnest for any misinterpretation or disproportionate responses, etc. It's usually both of them apologizing to each other after identifying out loud out their own missteps/contributions, and it's usually fine. So a 'big' emotionally charged conflict between them might last like...an hour at most before before it deescalates into more co-operative conversation. Because neither of them want to "win" the fight, they just wanna not be mad at each other and see the other person comfortable--which requires understanding why they're mad rather than leveraging the other's angry response as against them, etc.
Funnily enough, this kind of...conflict resolution style wasn't Raf's initiative (he tends to be a lot more reticent to admit wrongdoing and apologize, lest it be used against him...and he's got a really bad habit of tallying up transgressions in his head and letting those grudges inform him on how much leeway he's willing to give someone before he decides they're straight-up unlikable)--but rather, it's always been Margie's way of negotiating conflict. Probably because she grew up with a very autistic brother, and being able to step away/leave the situation, calm down, and then reconvene to communicate their exact feelings and what provoked those feelings (in a weirdly dispassionate/objective manner of collaborative analysis) was a pretty critical part of her good relationship with him--a solution that evolved organically between them. And, since it worked so well with her brother (and frequently with her parents as well, wherein she'd often be applauded for her show of 'emotional maturity' or whatever lmao), she tries to employ this method with everyone close to her. It doesn't always work out... Earlier in her relationship with Raf, she'd always be first to apologize for provoking certain reactions out of him. As well, she just...never gets angry in response to someone being angry with her. She's also maybe a little too quick to apologize sometimes, which initially would have rubbed Raf the wrong way as being kinda manipulative/insincere (which, it kind of is...but not in a manner employed to gain any kind of upper hand over him)--to which he would deliberately avoid apologizing in response. He'd drop it instead, and act like nothing was wrong in the first place...which (whether consciously or not) is a manipulation tactic of his own, designed to provoke some variation of a "well wait, you were wrong and you need to give me apology" response from her. Which, of course, never came lmao. If Raf says "whatever, it's fine", unless she is also frustrated with herself, she'll take his word at face value. (the same way she does for everyone). Eventually, this leads him to to carefully admit when he feels his reactions are disproportionate. And, after while of that consistently leading to no further aggravation, his short hand to her "Sorry, I didn't mean to/I didn't mean it like that!" becomes a simple "I know. Sorry I barked at you." The gradual comfort of being 'wrong' in those very tiny, low-stake situations is what gives him the confidence to risk admitting he may be "wrong" in bigger conflicts. If, at any point--even once, Margie had taken this vulnerability and wielded it against him in any situation, he'd never let himself 'fall for it' again. But that's yet to happen. Still, it feels disproportionately risky for him to admit out loud, in earnest, that he had any part to play in a misunderstanding or in the construction of a bad situation--Like turning your back on an enemy who is poised to stab you with a knife.
Raf generally tends to be agreeable in most situations, he's a well practiced diplomat despite his disordered outlook and interpretations of things. But--he is stubbornly unapologetic. He'll drop the topic, insist it's no big deal to him anyway, tell you it's fine, to never mind, do what you want, etc. But he won't tell you it's 'his bad' or that he's sorry about anything. And if you don't meet him where's he's at with that then, in his mind, you've become The Problem. Forever. However, his care for Margie and her wellbeing bolsters his conscious efforts to treat her well, even at risk to himself. He'd rather end up in a situation where she's proven to him beyond a shadow of doubt that she never really cared about him and has been using him this whole time--than end up in a situation where he becomes a traumatic ex; someone that hurts her to think about. Therapy helped him determine that, at least in this situation, misplacing his trust is marginally less injurious to him than misplacing his suspicions. But sometimes, it takes him a hot moment to remember this and respond accordingly. Sometimes, it takes him more than a hot moment. Margie's there when he does come around to it though. She has her clear lines in the sand and--though I don't doubt that he's come close in his most fearful moments--he's never crossed them. With that said, yeah--I dunno LOL Raf is clinically predisposed to believe that he is being taken advantage of, or that he will be taken advantage of by anyone, at any given time. Margie can become pretty careless when she is very enthusiastic/eager for something, and her forward momentum does sometimes steamroll right over his toes. It can be more than a little challenging for Raf to stay grounded and respond reasonably when Margie lets excited desire drive her blindly forward at mach speeds when he feels like he's being dragged behind her. Other times, she'll try to dig into why he responded a certain way before he's had time to process and compartmentalize it for himself, all because she feels badly and wants to figure things out with him so that they can both feel better about it. He's learned that this is easily resolved with a terse "I love you, but holy shit, give me some fucking space, please." Which--usually warrants its own apology but, yanno...she gets it. Margie can be very "go go go, this is exciting, this is so fun, this is all that matters right now!! Oof--ow, shit, I hit something, was that a speed bump??" and Raf is often very "wait, what? Wait what!? Wait, that's all that matters?! Wait, what??? Hit the fucking breaks, that speed bump was me and now I am fucking dying." and that's usually where most of their conflict/clashing occurs. Margie will feel disproportionately ashamed/embarrassed/rejected, Raf will feel disproportionately slighted/put upon/mistreated. And if they didn't agree to talk to each other about it, with a shared, genuine desire to see each other in a state of comfort, their relationship probably couldn't thrive.
#Hi-Note#Magritte#Rafael#I feel like variations of this gets asked a lot#but I will answer every time lmao

Can we get an a,b,c,f,j for the lovely Carmila herself if that’s not too much to ask?
A, B, C, F, and J for Carmilla
Apologies for the delay, Anon... The past two days has been a bit chaotic and generally I haven't been in the best mental or physical space..
With that being said I hope you enjoy this despite the delay!
ATTRACTION:
As much as she wants to protect you and be there for you she needs security in knowing that you can fight for yourself and handle problems on your own when she cannot be there for you. She finds a strong partner is what works best for her. That's not saying she won't come to your aid if you need her help. In fact she will come in a heart beat, but once more she needs some reassurance that no one is going to be able to just snuff you out. It's less of an attraction thing and more of a peace of mind thing, she doesn't exactly see weaker people less desirable.. just unlikely. If that makes sense?
BONDING:
Often you two bond by just talking. Carmilla is often tired from keeping her business running and her clients satisfied, as well as designing new weapons. There's nothing more that she wants to do than to simply sit and let her hair down. Have a drink with her, perhaps something warm to loosen the tenseness inside of her. Ask her how she's doing and she will do the same. Very low energy and calm in contrast to the constant stimulation from her work life.
CUDDLING:
She's warm! Like most sinners! Her large hands tend to wrap around you almost defensively, but gently. More often than not she is the big spoon but sometimes she will humor you and switch places. Only cuddles with you in the privacy of your rooms.
FAMILY:
She already has her daughters, and she is already more than happy with them. She isn't looking for any more children, even if as a sinner she can't bare anymore. Personally I read her daughters as being young adults, if anything in their very very early 20s.. so while they do not need a second parent, your support won't go unheard.
JEALOUSY:
She handles jealousy very well, actually. If you decide to make her jealous on purpose or try to "test" her, it's going to be a quick end to the relationship. She's looking for someone emotionally mature she knows she can confide in as an equal and she's not going to let you waste her time like that. In the case you are being flirted with and you're not reciprocating, Carmilla is swift to take you away. Though she's.. not very stealthy in coming up with an excuse on why you need to leave. In fact she's quite blunt to the person in telling them to back off, just short of kissing you in front of the other party. Though that's more of her being protective rather than being jealous.

THe same anon who asked you yesterday about my growing distance in feeling connected with James in Prongsfoot fics.
So, when I said James is not as much of a devottee to Sirius in prongsfoot fics as Sirius is- I was talking about after school James. Or atleast after 6th year of school James. When he is really getting into that adulthood phase and leaving behind his boyish times.
Like mostly any fic I read with this pair, Jily happening is a given 80% of times. And there is a me problem that in my friends to lovers fic i typically don't like a person who one of the friends used to date being there in the mix. this is not just about this pair, anytime I read friends to lovers, I like the ex to leave there life or turn out to be super big psyco etc etc.
But with Jily almost all the time precceding Porngsfoot, it is that either her ghost is always hanging above their head, she is dead. Or she is best freinds with James and they are playing a supposedly good family but are divorced.
WHat I disgress about is that if James had such a good marriage with her then atleast for begininng 4 years, his prioroty will be Lily and Harry and then SIrius. Which would be absolutely fine if I was reading a Jily fic. But in prongsfoot it feels one sided for so long and then suddenly James is into SIrius and then they live happily ever after. THis like the chasis of many long Prongsfoot fics i have come accross.
Also, Sirius takes the typical girly role in Prongsfoot fics. Not shown as feminine. What i mean is that those typical romance stories we read that the herione is facing so many troubles and her life is so difficult then hero swoops in and now all of a sudden she has everything she has ever wanted. etc etc. Shr pines for her hero who is oblivious and then bam, she does make up, hero sees that oh she has looks going on for her..and they marry...
Hahahaha...
ANyways, jokes aside. You see in Wolfstar fandom, there must have been some start where few fics in the beginning must have decided that Remus has to be the macho man and Sirius has to be the girly drama queen and now everywhere Wolfstar works on this absolutely given basis.
I know you don't like Wolfstar but I was giving an example as to how fandom keeps developing from the early phases. Just like that in Porngsfoot fics, I think the given is that Sirius is the pinner. SIrius is hte one who either will never work to get in a decent enough relationship outside of James becasue he knows he is in love and he knows no is better that James so why try or even if he does then the partner he is with will be some evil person or not as good compared to James's Lily who is swettum duddikins. (P.s.- I saw on your page that you have posted a fic recently. And it may seem that I am targeting that in particular. But I promise, this rant is not about any fic in general. )
Like Prongsfoot has a given that James has a life all set and adult him is going to have the best of his life even if he divorces than he is chumy with Lily who is super supportive. Sirius spends years solving one problem or another.
THis is specially my trigger because in the scene in SWM, James is so not emotionally mature. He doesn't even understand that Lily is not comfortable with his over the top flirting and all. Sirius has to explain it to him. In OOTP also we see that Sirius is very mature despite spending years in Jail.
WHat i am trying to say is that between the two of them, James is the one who i see as someone who will have trouble transitioning into a well adjusted adult, not from the lack of trying but because of the naivety he is yet to loose. Him i can see as someone befreinding people of all types and then regretting over helping etc. So, often seeing well adjuted James, playing the role of a friend whose life is almost all settled. Of seeing jily break up being such a simple thing like it is not a big deal. It all makes it seem that James had it comparatively easy, in fanfictions.
Sirius, in turn, is so accurate in his assesment of people so seeing him being ludged with the wrong sorts of people feels a bit ooc.
I think Prongsfoot, is one of the ship that despite not being canon ship, is the only ship in which authors try to go by the canon the most. so, the route has to be taken of why jilly didn't happen.
But Back to my original ask. Adult James is a great friend to adult sirius. I am not denying that, but, adult Sirius is mostly in love with adult James. and he is so much devoting himself to James, his wife, his child. I don't know why. But it seems that his 'dog like nature' often makes it seem like he is doing more.
And the problem is not that James is late to the party. it is that as soon as he starts to see sirius that way. he is already all that way there. Not over the time getting there. He is suddenly jealous, he is suddenly too much touchy feelly. and Sirius who has spent years pinning,, we as a reader who know Sirius's side because mostly sirius is the pov character, are like, if he needed only this much time to be there, then why so late...
I don't know. Maybe if I see adult James having his own struggles, other than about his sexuality. or his having real actual troubles with Lily for actually wanting to divorce. Like being friends with her seems that they could have stayed couple if they are so good to each other.
In the country from where I come, after children are born to a couple, only the most explosive and violent relationship lead to divorce. Just not being attracted to your spouse is not a reason poeple divorce here. (I am not talking about cheating as a result of that). If they can still stay respectful and concerned about the spouse then they stayed married for the sake of children. So, Jily break up in fics for prongsfoot to hppen doesn't give adult James the credibility if he takes divorce for abolutely no seemingly good reason. Marriage is a big decision but so is divorce. And Divorce between couple who later become best friends is super cliche which i have never seen happen in adult life.....
So, i feel disconnected with James's reasonings, his almost nil personal growth after reaching adulthood, his almost too good to be true marriage with Lily, his perfect relationship with his son, his life has no struggles other than to get Lily to see him date material when he was a teen. When this is all shown in contrast to Sirius who has his life still in shambles. He looks more real in that case. in comparision to James, whose problems are triffle and not out of control sort of. JAmes's problems are the ones he can solve within himself. sriius's problems are on the outside.
I don't know if i was able to share with you my struggles. I left wolfstar because I thought that Siirus can do better than Remus. But then James in Prongsfoot is problem free whereas as Remus from Wolfstar was full of problems.
Reading Prongsfoot which is non canon compliment has helped but they are so less and i in my hunger for more, somehow reach the lands where i promise myself i won't return to.
Wow, this was a really long ask, with a lot of details. So, I had to spend some time to think about it.
Long ass answer below the cut.
I’ll just take each point as it comes along - I haven’t read as many Prongsfoot Fics of late that I should, but I don’t typically read the unrequited prongsfoot, I’m not sure if that’s what you’ve been reading because in all of the fics I read (and from what I know as a member and leader of this community of PF lovers) we usually LOVE their Co-Dependency and Devotion and we always have it go both ways. Like we can’t imagine James as ANY LESS Devoted than Sirius. Like, no, we all see them as equally devoted to each other.
You mentioned thinking that things changed for James (priority-wise) in 6th year, I think you’re right, but not in the sense that he’s suddenly focused on Lily and not Sirius. In fact, I imagine that sixth year was the year of Prongsfoot - why? Because Sirius likely ran away the summer before sixth year, and I think that running away and having James as a safe place to land (but Sirius likely worrying about being a burden) would make James reconsider the situation of pranking and enjoying life and realize that life isn’t easy and there’s a WAR going on. I fully believe Sirius’ home situation is the reason behind his transformation.
Many people credit Lily - I don’t. I 100% think it was Sirius and Lily just started to notice when they both became Head Girl/Boy. And that’s what led to their relationship.
James and Sirius both deserve the credit for growing up on their own and likely together, pulling each other into better places and they’d never leave each other behind.
So, one thing to note with PF is that most of us are also Jilypad shippers. Some of us really love Harry and his bond with Sirius, so in a lot of ways, we always kind of build Jily into it. I think it might also be a habit from building off Canon and Diverging from canon, which since we know in fifth year James canonically has a fancy of Lily, it makes sense to start there. It’s easy to have him realize that he wasn’t actually into her or for it to be one date and him to move on.
That’s kind of how first love works. It’s rare for someone to fall in love at sixteen and for it to work out. I know, I speak from experience. …. It’s a first love for a reason.
Also, I never really see Lily as a ghost hanging over them any more than if Sirius had fallen in love and then later loved James. I firmly believe that Jily had can be friends too, even if he’s with Sirius and I think Sirius genuinely came to love her (we see this most notably with the letter in Deathly Hallows - she and Sirius seem to genuinely love each other). I actually head canon that Lilypad were friends from the get-go (secret friends) that bonded over terrible siblings and wishing they weren’t born into the family that they were. She helps him with muggle stuff and he helps her with wizards stuff.
But I digress.
Here’s the thing about love and families, you can love and prioritize someone that isn’t your spouse. James isn’t the type of person that abandons the man that has been his BFF for years just because he gets married. Even in canon, we see that Lily and Sirius are good friends, she reaches out to him and tells him ‘hey, James misses you, come visit’. Like there’s evidence that they became a trio of sorts, and Sirius welcomed it as much as James did. She knew marrying him meant that he came as a package deal.
***I’m going to preface this next bit by saying - I’m speaking from my experience watching my sister get pregnant and get married knowing it was likely a mistake and knowing from my mom that her situation when she got married to an older man and got pregnant at eighteen and both situations were made better with divorce and realizing that you can’t stay in a situation just because of society and social norms. ***
And getting married at nineteen/twenty, typically doesn’t last. Why? ‘Cause you’re just too young, you’re not fully grown, they say that your brain isn’t fully developed to 25. Things change as you grow and you realize, ‘hey this isn’t what I want’ and that’s okay.
It’s not the olden days where you’re stuck anymore. Yes, there are things you can’t undo, but I think you can make them work in your favor.
Particularly if you have a kid young and get married because ‘it’s the right thing to do’ and then, realize … it as a mistake. Sometimes getting a divorce is better in the long run. It was better for my mom, who was in a terrible situation and for my sister.
So, if James seems to suddenly discover a part of himself that he didn’t already know - that he’s bisexual and usually discovers it because Sirius is an adonis, that’s just par for the course.
I think some people who may not understand coming out later in life or realizing something later in life may struggle to understand James in a lot of these fics. For me, I wouldn’t necessarily say I’m bi, I’m not really interested in a relationship, but I can say after reading certain characters figuring themselves out - Particularly Alex Claremont-Diaz (his bi awakening was so well done in the book that it helped me realize that there are certain things like thinking a woman is hot that probably isn’t all that straight).
I feel like we’re used to the ‘default’ setting that for people that are bi, might easily misconstrue how they’re seeing things. Because well, I’ve been with a man, I know I’m attracted to men, and being straight is easy, why would I question anything if I don’t need to? I feel like James in the 70s/80s would have a similar mindset? He might also be thinking ‘there’s no other way to have a family’ and he seems very much like a family man. So, for him, why question things until it slaps him in the face? (He seems like the type that needs a slap in the face to have things kickstarted. Maybe a kiss like Alex/Buck on 911).
Anyway, digressing again.
As for as the girly-role for Sirius - What Stories Are You Reading???? I really need to know because Sirius is never girly in any prongsfoot fics that I can think of? I’ve read plenty… so…
I’ve never seen him as the heroine waiting to be rescued??? Sirius rescues himself and James just happens to help. Also, this idea that only a woman needs rescuing … is kinda sexist.
Also, Sirius is more than just being a gorgeous adonis. Just saying.
I do agree that pining for Sirius makes some sense because I find it would be easier for him to figuring out he’s bent or bi than it would be for James, who like I said reads as someone that thinks he’s straight because he’s supposed to be. He wouldn’t think to question himself the way that Sirius would. So, naturally, that means Sirius pines.
But also, if we start in canon and diverge, James has a canon interest that Sirius doesn’t, so it’s easier to make that be the situation.
TBF things are changing, we’ve started to writing more of James pining fics because yeah, it’s time he pines. :)
You mentioned that this wasn’t aimed at any particular fic, but I wonder, how many of my fics have you actually read? Because I like mutual pining and not much Lily.
I’m not sure Sirius solves any of James’ problems, and usually Sirius is happy with his job and life as he is? Not really sure where this comes from.
I don’t think you can look at SWM James and then compare him to OOTP Sirius - like, I’m sorry, what???
There’s twenty years between the two scenes - twenty years in which Sirius has gone through a war, lost his best mate, has gone to prison for a crime he didn’t commit, and now is watching his godson go through HELL while he himself is on the run unable to do anything.
You say you see James unable to become a well-adjusted adult, I just don’t get where you get that. James in fifth year is living in a fun school bubble, yes. But he also finds himself in a situation not long after where his BFF has to run away from home, his parents getting ill and joining the Order. He’s clearly been shown to become an adult because of age but also outside factors that forces them to grow up. The fact that he and Lily got together, got pregnant, and then married, also forced him to grow up.
When you become a young dad in a war with no safety net, you’re going to grow up and it’s natural. I think some people may be stuck seeing him as his sixteen-year-old self, but he’s so much more than that. He’s had five years by the time he died to grow up and everything he goes through reinforces that.
We do like canon, I will say that. We like to diverge from canon because we DONT LIKE FANON JAMES AND SIRIUS. Let’s face it, the fandom that has them not together typically treats them like they’re complete idiots that can’t do anything themselves and they’re lucky anyone puts up with them. We don’t want that.
But also their friendship is SUPER STRONG IN CANON. Like, we don’t have to change much to make it work, so why would we? It’s practically natural.
I feel like there might be a misunderstanding with the devotion thing - James’ devotion would be just as strong if the roles were reversed. That’s kind of the point of the story of JS. Like Sirius devotes himself to James in canon because JKR didn’t give him anything else, and if it were reverse, the same thing would be said about James.
And TBF, we don’t really know James’ side either. He could struggle, but some people (cough, me, cough) prefer fluff, so… the only struggle is ‘man, has Sirius always been that hot?’ (Answer, always).
I actually think that friendly divorces absolutely can happen, I look at Micheal/Athena on 9-1-1, Like if you’re honest and you’re just like ‘you know what I loved you but I don’t anymore’ that it is possible to be friends and work it out. It took time, but I do know couples that are friends with exes. It honestly depends on why the split-up happened. In Jily’s case, if it’s because James suddenly discovered himself or they realize that they were just young and it was too soon compounded by war and a kid, I could see them splitting and staying friends.
You mention how things are in your country… and I grew up Roman Catholic, so I completely understand where you’re coming from, but I also see things differently. If my mom never divorced that asshole, I wouldn’t be here. If my sister hadn’t divorced her husband, she would be a lot less happy trying to force it than they are amicably raising their teenage boys. If it’s better for mental health and for the sake of the kids, then divorce should happen. Now, mind you, my religion technically says you should suck it up - that’s why marriage is a sacrament, but even my dad who is quite religious will tell you that religion isn’t right about everything.
I won’t tell you that your culture is wrong or that you’re wrong for your beliefs, but I do think when it comes to fanfic, you have to remember that not everyone has grown up in your culture or subscribes to it, and I believe, in England (where this story is based) that they aren’t against divorce. So, that might be why we as Prongsfoot writers have no issues with an amicable divorce with Jily.
I also don’t think it hurts his credibility, especially when divorce isn’t one-sided.
Honestly, I think James grows quite a bit, fatherhood, and being a husband, plus war… I just don’t understand the concept that he doesn’t struggle or have personal problems, that he doesn’t grow… I just don’t get that.
Anyway, Sirius can definitely do better than Remus, and that’s James.
James is an except boyfriend/husband to Sirius. And if you’re looking for non-lily fics for prongsfoot….
No Lily, No Jily, No Jilypad - AO3
Of my 461 HP Fics, 306 of them of Prongsfoot without Lily at all.
This was a very long answer, over 2K, if you got to the end, thank you! Please feel free to politely respond.
Thanks for the asks :)

Is there a reason we as Carol fans can’t appreciate that she has had mature loving romantic relationships with other men? Why is it misogyny if it’s not Daryl? No one will answer this for me. Personally I wish she would have stayed where she was adored, and that was with Ezekiel. It’s actually more harmful that the writers pulled her away from that loving marriage and have her chasing dusty Daryl. That’s the real problem.
I'm pretty sure you don't want my answer to this, but since you asked, no, that's not the real problem.
Ezekiel adored his own idea of who Carol was, not the actual flawed woman and she didn't love him. He came with the bargain when she wanted to raise a child (who chose her). That's not a mature healthy relationship. He was also emotionally abusive, calling her a coward for not going in search of Henry when he went missing, despite not doing anything useful about the situation himself and he tried to cut off her emotional support in the wake of Henry's death by telling Daryl to make himself scarce. At best, Ezekiel's behavior is tone-deaf and selfish, and at worst, he's emotionally manipulative because he knows he can't "win" Carol's affection on a level playing field. He's a much better man than Ed, but he was using a lot of the same gameplays from the book of abusive spouses.
Carol's shaped by her past, just like real people and living with abuse changes your sense of self-worth and ability to ask for support and respect from your partner. Tobin wasn't love at all. It was an attempt at what she perceived as normalcy with a man who not so incidentally had the same body type as Ed. It was testing the waters. It was going back to the housewife who, in addition to making casseroles and baking cookies out of offbeat ingredients, had sex with a man she didn't love. By her own admission, she was lost during the time period when she chose both men.
I think Carol was raised (or indoctrinated) from childhood that parenthood meant a nuclear family. She obviously couldn't "take" Henry from Ezekiel. He'd been the brothers' family since their dad died and Benjamin had recently been killed. So, she had to take the man in the bargain and she'd settled for worse in the past. "King Ezekiel" was a ridiculous persona and their personalities were incredibly mismatched. He hid things from Carol, like retrieving that light bulb from the movie theater because he knew she wouldn't approve. That's not a healthy partnership. Ezekiel also tried to pressure her into changing to fit his fantasy, to be Queen Carol and the person he thought she should be. A gilded cage is still a cage.
Daryl has never tried to change who Carol is. He's always swallowed his own feelings, his pride, his concern... until things boiled over in S10. He was raw and honest and scared. Hurt, most of all. The fight at the cabin in "Find Me" was about him feeling unseen. He's been willing to settle all along for what Carol wants and trying to let her define what they are to each other, but he came very close to losing her entirely in the cave and on top of the cliffs. He wants it to be reciprocated that he lets her temper him, that he checks his impulse control for her. Daryl needs Carol to be cautious with herself because she's the loss he can't bear, not because he wants to tell her what to do or how to be.
He's the only one of Carol's men who's gotten in on the passenger side of the car and let her do the driving, and that's why Daryl is the one she's chasing to France. She loves him (as she herself has said) and she loves that he doesn't try to "tame" her. He understands the emotional and physical abuse she's suffered, he's been there for her losses and is the only one left who's met Sophia. They have history and emotional support that isn't conditional with each other. They understand each other's need for space and freedom. As Melissa said in an interview, Daryl is Carol's life partner.
