Wait a damn minute
It’s reasonable to think the ball that was being thrown around in the Natlan trailer was for the Pilgrimage, right? At least, it’s heavily implied, especially by Mavuika’s announcement;
When Xilonen catches the ball, she refers to it as “that time of year”, which implies it’s an annual competition.
Kachina states that she’s on a seven or eight losing streak for the Pilgrimage, something that Mualani and Kinich do not correct her on. In fact, they confirm it.
Going by Kachina’s build, behavior and personality, it’s fair to assume she’s around twelve years old, give or take.
So, if the Pilgrimage is an annual event and twelve year-old Kachina is on a seven or eight year losing streak…
Does that mean she’s been competing since she was four years old???

Überwald. Something from the back of my language classes is stirring, and…
Did he really make a land full of big forests that foreigners barely understand, and then name it Big Forest? And the whole thing hinges on a common English misunderstanding of what über actually means, with the proper translation (Over Forest) being a direct commentary on the internal politics of the place?
Godsfuckingdammit terry!

I don’t think you can use the necromancy of thay to bring Astarion back to life and cure him of his vampirism…. I’m so disappointed I’ve been banking on this for two years :(

i feel like poolverine easily could’ve been one of those “they’re flirty but it’s mostly unserious” situations, and for most of the movie yeah they were extremely gay, but wade’s been like that with other guys and it was never treated as a serious type of relationship before. they’re willing to die for each other, but even then the romantic aspect of their relationship could be glossed over because it’s a superhero movie, that’s just what they do, and they’re working together to save a whole timeline—it’s not just about them. but then the movie doesn’t end with them saving the day and moving on. i think this’s really the part that sells poolverine as a genuine relationship to me… logan’s leaving, and wade calls for him. he can’t stand to let him go. then he introduces him to his family, and logan stays. he doesn’t really need to stay, but they’ve both decided they’re better off with one another than without

Friendly reminder that this conversation takes place in 01x03:
Note:
The ambiguity of his response to Morgana.
His choice of words. The right person to love. Not woman. Person.
And then, only one (1) episode later:
He didn’t even hesitate.
It seems he had, in fact, found the right person to love.

We often talk about how romantic the Joy in the Morning garden scene is, with very good reason, but it REALLY jumps out at you if you listen to the audiobooks. Jonathan Cecil’s Jeeves voice is very consistent, so when he reads “The cool air. The scent of growing things. That is tobacco plant which you can smell, sir,” you can HEAR how there’s really no way to deliver that line in a way that isn’t noticeably more expressive than Jeeves’ normal baseline. It’s the punctuation. The full stop between “the cool air” and “the scent of growing things” tells you that a certain amount of inflection is required.
Man is flirting so hard it’s disrupting his normal speech patterns

my jgy thoughts have been expanding and adapting and roiling and toiling etc etc etc and all of it is coming down to me affectionately marveling at this character. he’s cut-throat. he’s cunning. his kindness leaves lasting impressions. his mercy is what predates his demise. he’s one of the few cultivators who helps those in need. he will sacrifice them if it benefits him. he loved. it didn’t last. it killed him. it orchestrated his downfall. he’s a genius. he’s paranoid. he compartmentalizes. he splits the world into who he would sacrifice and who he would not. people he loves and people he would sacrifice are not mutually exclusive. he’s filial to a fault. it was all for his mother. he is a study in assimilating to survive. the results vary. he manipulates the herd mentality to his benefit. it is turned against him. he is killed for the one thing he didn’t do by the one person he wouldn’t sacrifice. it is still somehow better than what the hive-mind cultivation world would have done. i love this tragic kaleidoscope of a character.

Me when I defend Snape so much and remember that Snaters brush me off as just “some Snape apologist” even though I actually have so many criticisms of his awful actions, love his deep-rooted flaws and complexities, love to analyse how much his horrible childhood shaped him out to be for the rest of his life and how it turned him into what he hated most (a bully), and usually the only times I defend him are when his haters misconstrue what he did and make up fanon claims about him, not because I can’t handle when they say anything bad about a character I love, but because I simply can’t handle when people misunderstand his character (for better or for worse):
