Hmmm as for favorite poem, there's a few I throw out as my top poem with frequency, but here I've got to say The Bridge by C. Dale Young. I just adore its positivity and the way it isn't afraid to be in love with the small details of life. That's just a feeling I relate with so much in my life and the whole poem is SUCH a vibe. That's tkkrs'regular business. remember when the new BTS webtoon was releasing? And two three pages were like released or leaked from the webtoon and one was jm and jk's character's scene and other was with jk and joon's character's scene. Watching horror stuff like that as a kid is why i cant handle horror or upsetting content now as an adult. I used to think it was fine but that shit really messed with me in a way i cannot articulate. Gave me anxiety and general bad vibes that was messing with my mental health. I really tried to like it because it was "cool" and really thought i did for a while. Dont expose ten year olds to edgy content. It's worse these days since horror has become so popular among kids these days but its really not good for them. Idc if they say it doesn't affect them, it actually does. Because what they mean by "doesn't affect them" is just not screaming in fear and avoiding it. But consuming this kind of stuff at that age can be a type of self harm and unhealthy coping mechanisms at work and they wont realize it until its too late. They can't comprehend how it can be harmful and therefore don't believe it can be.

I kinda ranted but i actually recently stopped doing a similar kind of self harm (its personal (and embarrassing) so i wont say what it is, but i actually started doing it around the same time as the mlp horror stuff, and had only recently realized that it was also fucking me up) so this kind of thing is fresh in my mind

Also the writing is kinda on the wall that Viv is going to make Stolas become mortal and join IMP so that the last barrier to her otp is destroyed at any cost. Even if it means sacrificing Octavias relationship with her father, Stolas only real loving connection with someone. Sigh. While Fizz will marry Asmodeus to become his queen for eternity. unless some Beetlejuice plot twist shenanigans are afoot and Stolas and Fizz do the old switcheroo to be reunited with their lost loved ones.

My blitzfizz heart hurts too because these two are gonna be eternally separated, like Lyle Lipton and Loopdee almost were.

Honestly Id love an AU where these guys are like a metaphor for them. The reason why I'm equal parts excited and nervous for the Fionna and Cake miniseries is because this is going to actually canonize the lore of The Fionna and Cake universe:

What are they going to keep and what are they going to throw out?

While Ice King was receiving information about Fionna and Cake during sleep, anything he says about them will be wildly incorrect because the crown distorts his mind. I mean... he literally thinks Fionna would be into him, so he's clearly not a reliable source of information about her and her universe.

Would they keep Marshall Lee's, Gumball's, and Fionna's dynamic the way it was presented in Bad Little Boy and the Fionna and Cake comics [the ones that were written and illustrated by Natasha Allegri] or would they throw it out completely because this information doesn't come from "reliable sources".

Bad Little boy was basically Marceline's Finnceline propaganda a Marceline episode w hich gave us a deeper look into how Marceline views her relationship with Finn, Finn's relationship with PB, and her relationship with PB.

The FAC comics illustrated and written by Natasha Allegri were a continuation of Bad Little Boy BUT these comics were Gunther's Fionna/Marshall Lee/Gumball OT3 fanfics.

All the information we have about Fionna and Cake come from in universe fanfic... technically, none of it is true to the FAC universe - every Fionna and Cake story is told by an Adventure Time character, so they are all unreliable sources of information for the FAC universe.

So what do you do?

Do you throw out all the Fionna and Cake information that came before the miniseries since none of it is technically canon? Do you really throw out the most popular Fionna and Cake episode and well received comics because they're told by characters who wouldn't be able to see into the FAC universe? Or do you use these dynamics but create completely different backstories for the characters?

Fionna doesn't actually have to meet Marshall Lee and Gumball the same way Finn did - she doesn't even need to be the same age as Finn when she meets them. She could meet them when she's older [like 17-18 years old], since she's going to be a young adult in this new show... I mean why wouldnt she be a young adult... in a show aimed at young adults...

I just dont see them copying and pasting Adventure Time into Fionna and Cake. This new universe gives them a chance to explore new dynamics and ideas they wouldn't have been able to in Adventure Time.

Then there's taking the shipping into account... how do you tackle this monstrosity without pissing too many people off? Fiolee and Gumlee are BOTH very popular pairings, so how would you go about presenting these pairings in this alternate universe?

A thing people dont really realize is that Fionna and Marshall Lee could be a possibility because they're going to have different backstories from Finn and Marceline. Again, it would be boring as fuck to just do Adventure Time a second time - they're going to give these characters different backstories and they're going to meet each other under different circumstances.

As for Gumballs and Fionna's relationship... it might not be as creepy as Finn's and PB's relationship. They would not be able to get away with the creepy shit they pulled with PB and Finn', because people are going to see the red flags right away. People didnt notice the red flags with Finn and PB because we're not used to seeing older women creep on and exploit boys/young men nearly as much as we see older men creep on and exploit girls/young women. And again, it would be boring to to the same thing AT did with Finn and PB.

Okay I know how they're going to tackle the shipping issue, and I dont really like it because I think it's spineless: Since this is a multi-universe adventure they are going to make different relationships canon in other universes. This will prevent fans from flipping their shit TOO MUCH and the writers can have their cake and eat it too.

Based on the summaries of the show I just dont see Marshall Lee or Gumball helping Simon, Fionna and Cake. First of all, that is way too many characters to manage. Secondly, based on this part of the summary:

Fionna and Cake with the help of the former Ice King, Simon Petrikov embark on a multiverse-hopping adventure and journey of self-discovery. 

The multiverse is going to be used as a way to develop Fionna. I mean.... it's been a hot minute since ive watched Adventure Time but Im pretty sure Simon isnt going on a journey of self discovery. This show is targeted at young adults... Simon isnt a young adult so i dont know why the story will be focused on him... if anything he's going to be the character who will offer Fionna guidance.

But yeah... the multiverse is the perfect opportunity to explore different pairings and ideas they wouldnt be able to do in a single story. So I dont see why they wouldnt use it to it's fullest potential.

what was all of that about stevlana and her dad? i finished shameless and i still dont totally get it. was she really married? i believe so cause none of her other marriages were legal. how did that happened? what is her dad like? when she married her russian husband? just everything seemed rushed and i wish he had more info about it.

either way, I remember she said once to mickey that she named their kid after her father and hes like "didnt the bastard fucking sold you as a sex slave for like 300 dollars" (which I think is really nice cause that means she shared with him that information voluntarily) to which she responded something like "yes but still he had some good in him". later she says to kev that she supported her father and all that cause she owned him for taking care of her until she was like idk nine years old and could take care of herself and i remember seeing someone here saying it is probably because in russia is really common for the father to abandon his children so the fact he stuck around means a lot to her.

it all makes me believe that the image of a father is of importance for svetlana. doesn't that means that she would want mickey to be involved in their childrens life then? i mean he was for a while as she forced him to until his boyfriend kidnapped her children and babys father went to jail and then she held back and i understand it i totally do but now that they have all growned up and gallavich is a somewhat resonable couple with somewhat legal jobs and somewhat living an honest life wouldn't she want them in her and more specifically her childrens life again?

noel once said in an interview for s5 that he believes that in some ways Svetlana is perfect for Mickey cause shes strong where hes not and she complements him, and i believe that too. at the beginning every time shes onscreen she looks scared as shit truly frightened but as the episodes go on and they interact more it seems like she can perceive how small and frightened mickey is under all that bad boy facade and she grows upon him and then they get in a fighting-friendly-respect-disrespect relation in which they recognize each other somehow, and than that went sideways after the whole yev kidnap. mickey probably thought he was wrong thinking he could ever play family, that he could ever be any different and be something other than a fucked up in the kids life, that hes not up to being a parent and that theyre better off without him and make them go away; he chooses to take care of ian instead of his family by s5 end when he said svetlana could leave if she wasn't accepting ian coming back to their house after kidnap episode.

fact is svetlana and mickey found themselves in challenging situations simultaneously. svet was an undocumented immigrant who resorted to prostitution as her only means of survival, while mickey grappled with complex issues involving his love life, sexuality, and the pressure to conform to his fathers expectations, leading a life he didnt desire. despite these difficulties they shared the experience of becoming parents at a young age which significantly altered the course of their lives and their relationship. they were both the source of pain and the potential for each other's salvation. their relationship was fraught with difficulties as mickey treated svet poorly, refusing to acknowledge her as his wife despite her longing for the american dream through marriage and family, which she quite fought for at the beginning when she seemed to hope he would eventually love her (she was gentle and submissive and played perfect little wife). instead, he agreed to fulfill a fatherly role, and they supported each other superficially, lacking a deeper connection. for mickey, lana was an instrument to appease his father while simultaneously being a painful remark of everything he wasnt and didnt want to be, all while introducing complications into his relationship with Ian.

even with all the differences they faced, they had a lot in common, as they both were young and trying to survive, living lifes they didnt choose, the whole respect for their piece of shit fathers that they shared, the fact theyre both queer, how they dont trust others and try not to rely on no one and solve things with their hands and they both have bad manners and dirty mouths and take aggressive approaches to solve their problems and are always scheming and find hard to change their nature. they have a lot in common and they got to find that out while living together and fighting each other, trying with effort to shape one another so they would comply to play the role and accommodate to the life each was expecting to build. svetlana made mickey take off the nazi posters he had as is stated in s3 finale and would threaten and blackmail him into doing what she wanted during s4, and he would do his best to fight her by trying to scare her with threats and make her submissive holding her in an inferior place by diminishing her and calling her names in s4 until they grow to a somewhat peaceful relation in s5 even including ian.

them as a throuple happy family worked for a while and i mean i doubt she has anyone even as close as a colleage in her life right now she doesnt trust easily and v and kev are out of scene and she is married to that rich guy etc. so having a friendly relation with mick again seems like doable? desirable even maybe for her? at that time by s5 they were both dealing with illegal jobs and svet was raising her kid barely by herself and mick was using A LOT of drugs like pills and drinking and cocaine and crack i think and still they made it work for a while so only imagine what they could do now that theyre both at their best.

also, she is married to that rich dude but its a fact that hes not going to live longer and i know my girl is smart svet did her thing secured that bag stole and gained and got what she could but the plot said that the marriage was under the regime of separation of property meaning she isnt going to get any goods after her hushbands death and probably is not going to have contact with her husbands family cause theyre not close so not only she will have freedom but she will be lonely right. until she finds her a wife at least.

I know the importance of family isnt for the milkovichs what it is for the gallaghers and that yev came as result of an abuse relation, but mick didnt seem to take that on the child once he was born and he was taking care of him, he didnt seem to resent him or hate him or see terry and be hurt by it. i mean he does process trauma in such unexpected unexplained ways that i cant really vision how he trully feels about yev, other than how he rejected fatherhood in s4 and his comments with ian in s11 about not believing he can be a good parent, but s5 in the police station theres a lot of "hes a good kid" from the officer and mickey holding and kissing yev only to take care of ian as debbie hold yev on the passager seat in the way home that was made on purpose and i perceive it as he likes yev but hes afraid to break him. idk if there could ever be the same feeling that lip has with fred, of wanting to be a better father for him than he ever had. thats probably not micks thing. but i can see him at some point wanting to know about yev, and who he became, what is he like, and bonding with him, even more so cause hes not bad with kids they would hit it right away. probably a more friendly bond than father son tho. as for ian, there is that deleted scene of him visioning him mick svet and yev as a happy family and even thought he was maniac i think that came from the heart hes good with kids and he wants a family with mick and he lived a nice life with svetlana and he said to fiona he loves yev.

there is the fact that svetlana probably never talk about mick and never went to see him anymore onscreen cause mick might probably not be babys dad but i like to think yev really is a milkovich just because they reproduce like fucking rabbits and i think thats really funny. also the beggining of s6 makes it clear he had done jobs from inside jail before so that he could get commissary money and svet could raise yev with her share, so s6e1 states they somewhat worked together which leads to suppose svetlana and mickey hold a friendly relationship even after they fight cause ian kidnapped yev and mick kind of kicked her out their house, AND since she asks ian to accompany her in the visit shes ok with him too it seems. ALSO not only i think is reasonable to assume they kept in contact for a while when he was inside and only got some distance as she was building her life with her relationship with kev and v and the allibi and he started getting involved in dangerous stuff with the mexicans (since in theory she visited him with divorce papers), i truly believe they only cut off contact completely when he told her he was leaving for mexico cause i mean he told terry i truly believe he told her too.

like i know a lot of people want galladads but i just see it as unresonable they came out of jail theyre traumatized and never done therapy ian fucking stole a baby and that baby was under micks supervision they fucking suck thats the true!! and i would kind like to see them taking responsibility for yev and bonding somewhat. just imagine what kind of parenting that kid would have hes probably unhinged since his parents are freaks. also i think that the more your parents control a kid the more they want to be a rebel (karen-like) and since he was raised by horrible people he is probably the opposite, really calm and mature for his age etc kind of like liam. hes also probably smart since he had a good education and speaks a lot of languages like svet, and aggressive but not fist like? i can vision it, mick telling him about what he was up to when he had yevs age and them playing videogames and mick like spitting on the floor or idk trying to teach him how to fillet a fish and yev totally disgusted by it cause hes a rich little motherfucker and then yev enthusiastically trying to explain the last robotic ethics article he read and is really excited about and making science fiction comparisons so that mick can understand it. OH ALSO also i believe yev is really into the fact hes half russian and knows a lot about its culture and all and wants mick to know more about ukraines and eat their food and know their history and learn their langague and that makes mick PISSED i just know it.

ive put part of these thoughts in the tags of many a post i have made of the show or reblogged from but im just gonna put it here and hope it makes sense but i do think people are doing a disservice to the story when they don't consider what the creators set out to do which comes from a desire to simply adapt the lord of the flies, but of course with girls, so first, the story of the book deals with the survival of white british boyhood and the circumstances which see them find their cruelty, these results and variables don't shed light on humanity as much as they shed light this particular group of kids in time and space, a lot of the things that happen to them are circumstantial at best and i think they mostly show us how much kids need guidance, otherwise they fill the spaces with whatever is closest to making sense, even that alone just tells you that whatever story they can tell themselves to survive and exist with each other will suffice and as humans do it will escalate, at most if we're going for universality in the text, we're shown one version of a caged animal, and it's our youth at it, even so the story works because the circumstances and the stories they tell themselves speak of a cruelty that isn't inherent of anyone as much as it belongs to their processing of their identity in the face of their situation, misguided and stressed, the world they can imagine is limited by the knowledge imparted to them before being left alone in their childhood to make sense of the world as well, the story, thus, makes more sense as stunted growth even then rather than just the lessons of a white colonial power, but even so, they mingle, the cruelty of survival, their youth, and how quickly can stories spin out of control in our hearts and minds, and the rage of violent uncontrolled and unexperienced hands hands

and so it is with yellowjackets, how could it dream of divorcing itself completely from the source material, the story isn't and it can't be some universal take on girlhood, how could it be, girlhood is so varied anyway, we must know or we must suspect, because that's what human is, varied, just by race in this iteration of our universe, because we have given it importance in our day to day lives, by itself, anything can change universes, and race alone? it's tied to so many other circumstances of time and space too, the history of a strand of humanity... and even if the show had tried to be universal (because i dont think its even trying as much as a certain subset of fandom is trying to imply) the creators/writers have shown repeatedly their lack of understanding of how things like race changes the lens, how class, how so many things other than age can alter that transition to adulthood

and it's just becoming.... what boyhood, girlhood, being are.... metamorphosis... like most of the time we're fucking becoming, the metamorphosis is harrowing, but having bodies is, and for all the supposed nuances so far of the series it's patently clear that the end result of these series is the same as that of the book it takes from: this is a particular group of people with a particular set of beliefs that have managed to alienate them from not just the world but from each other so that they can easily justify killing each other, it's a bunch of kids lost and unable to guide themselves to better while a fucking supernatural presence grooms them to murder like how's that remotely universal to girlhood, it's why ive never felt comfortable with people excluding javi and travis like travis wasn't about to be raped and honestly what jackie did qualifies as such even if she didn't notice til later he was drugged, and the dismissal of his little brother is very demonstrative of how barely attached the yellowjackets are to fucking life outside of their own selfishness, like these cruelties you wanna attach as inherent to girlhood, like we're all seeing travis get traumatized aren't we like you can't be this blind as to how his suffering has literally kept the horror going, like how's this girlhood only i just dont fucking get it, explain to me the nuances cause i must be fucking stupid

It would take you two seconds plus google to see that Transgender/transsexuality has existed for fucking years.

Transgender people existed years and years before the period where tf2 exists. Years that show many people who were transgender way before the term was made. The best example i can give is a transgender woman by the name of Mary Jones who was a transgender (male to female) African American sex worker who lived in the 1870s and the first recorded transgender reassignment surgery was in 1906 on a man named Karl.M Baer who was intersex but was dubbed female at birth at the age of 21 he came out as a male and underwent surgery at the age of 23. The term transsexual was created in 1907.

anyway. something that makes me real sad about the whole AI art deal is what it could have meant artistically if things had been different. like, in the very early days of ai art being a thing when the datasets were pretty small and the models were kinda simple so anything you asked for would spit out a really fucked up blurry/mashed image, there was (imo) genuine artistic merit there! pretty much no human ever would make the kinds of decision an ai would because of the ways that humans are capable of indexing context and culture and pulling from sources instead of just averaging data. the melty sort of half-formed look of early stuff really captured me creatively and i still love that look in general. i used to follow a few early ai artists and one of the main things they would do is lean into the inhumanity of generated images, and use them as springboards either for more images or for writing - it was really cool to see how an artist would work to incorporate and interpret whatever fucked up gunk the models spat out.

(these two are from a twitter account that did that sort of thing, 2021 and 2022 respectively. iirc this account pretty much stopped posting as the ai models became more advanced and even less ethical, but i havent touched twitter in ages so who knows)

again, to me there was and is real artistic potential in the old crusty ai models precisely because of their inability to correctly mimic a human's artistic work, and what an artist can then pull from what gets made. when ai art was mostly a fun novelty for weird niche internet nerds to play around with i didnt really have any issues with it, mostly because it largely COULDNT be used to steal from artists in any real sense, because it couldnt make any sense, pretty much at all.

and then tech shitbrains got their mitts on it and saw nothing but free labor, and as the tech improved it was improved to iron out any of the quirks that had made it a viable artistic tool to begin with, in favor of being able to pump out passable art without having to deal with a pesky artist who might want something so scandalous as to be paid. corporations moved to incorporate generated backgrounds and such into their workflows to cut out labor time and possibly be able to fire now-unnecessary workers. ai videos have already been used to fake porn of prominent women celebrities. style mimicry allowed techbros to even steal from dead artists, etc etc etc. as ever, the prospect of moneybags flattened any possibility of real art coming out of this actually pretty interesting tech evolution. (wow, the guys who call artists 'selfish bourgeoisie' dont actually care about the creative potential of an emerging technology? no way!)

obviously it isnt nearly so much of an issue as, yk, the real jobs and livelihoods being taken from workers in an already notoriously exploitative and tentative industry, but it still makes me pretty sad when i think about how much we could have had to work with, especially as a fan of glitch/techie art that fucks with the limits of the tools at hand. i recommend nightshade or glaze to prevent ai scraping from being as effective (-_-)b

not exactly sure how to trigger tag this so tldr: venting about an ex friend who fakeclaimed me and a therapist i used to have who didnt really help me and kinda did the opposite (probably not on purpose, but it still kinds fucked some things up for me)

thinking about the times ive talked about the possibility of having did with an old online friend of mine (who was a singlet) and they never believed me. i did so much research and trying to open up about it but when they told me i should stop it felt like everything i knew had fallen apart and was different

back then i remember before i told him about it i actually had known about some alters i had, they had actual names and personalities and even innerworld features. i remember one of them was a little kid with blonde hair and a pink dress and a black cat hat (exactly like a hat i used to have irl) i havent seen her around anywhere in a couple years sadly, since my friend told me i was faking. i wish she was around longer because she seemed really sweet. i think she went dormant bc of the stress our friend had put us through

i remember i had what i assume was a full switch to her which is why i wanted to talk to someone about it but the online friend i had at the time would constantly fakeclaim me and say things like "you cant be a system if youre under the age of 20" (even though... systems usually develop before the age of 10) and "youre faking because your typing is weird" (this alter was a little, a fucking child, so of course her grammar wasnt gonna be perfect) i literally remember switching to her as me and this person were talking and they still thought i was faking because "you just learned about this disorder and now youre acting like you have it" (maybe because.. ive had it for so long that when i finally found the words that have helped me describe it im trying to embrace it and learn to heal. maybe because for most of my childhood i felt like something deep inside me was wrong and broken and when i found out about did things suddenly started clicking for me)

even my therapist at the time didnt even try to figure out why i thought i had such a serious disorder, she just immediately dismissed it when i brought it up with her. i find it a bit funny though because before i brought up did with her she had told me i probably have *some kind* of dissociative disorder (she never specified) and she even gave me meds for it (which honestly made it worse, i can only remember like one thing from that time period and it was someone telling me "my energy felt off") while i dont think a therapist should always immediately agree with their patient when it comes to trying to diagnose something i think they should try to help them figure out if what theyre suspecting is truly what they are dealing with or if its something else, ykwim?

That ex-friend is wild… You can absolutely be a system under the age of 20, I’ve seen 14 year olds get an official diagnosis and be able to get some help/support for it. Not a lot of people might know about it until they’re older especially in therapy because they have to cross bases and make sure it isn’t something else. And even if someone does months/years of research, they might not fully know or be questioning for a while.

Some people also accept it faster than others. That doesn’t make them fake either. For us, we had started questioning when we were around 19, doing research and everything to help out and going to different sources, we’re now 20 and a little bit past the “I’m fake” self-doubt (imposter syndrome) and doing what we can to function.

Your therapist should have absolutely made sure to cross bases. I’m not saying that in like a bad way. But the medication pushing just… isn’t it. That seems really strange to me to just agree, not ask questions on why, and just give medication out like that…

But you guys aren’t fake, that friend is gone, hopefully that therapist, too. I hope you all are doing better!

Ever scroll past a post and catch a stray as it reads you for filth?

maybe filth ain’t the right word, but then again this about to be some catholic ramblings. Post I saw in question was talking about how forgiveness for someone who already feels bad about what they’ve done can be a punishment since they feel in their bones they HAVE to be punished. And it felt off.

My immediate thought was “ha, I know from experience it ain’t the forgiveness that gets that kind of person, the forgiveness is just salt in the wound. The wound is that you can’t forgive yourself until you feel punished enough and that happens regardless of the person accepting your act(s) of contrition or not.” Bruuuuuuuuuuuuu! The fucking strange combo of epiphany and misery and scrambling to not feel like this still applies to my own psyche was intense. There’s got to be a word for it. Probably is one in German. I’ve been at a stage in life for long enough now to wonder if the Catholic upbringing I had was really the source of this pathway in my brain. Cause I didn’t grow up in a region with many Catholics, past an early age didn’t associate with many, and my mom did a lot better than the tripe you see of American Catholic guilt. Her relying on guilt when she did honestly didn’t seem to far off the mark for most parents trying to get their kids to see making things right as a responsibility. And I don’t know other people’s minds on this but it doesn’t seem like the bit of guilt she pointed out did it all or started it. Maybe there is something to the people who say that guilt based anything in parenting is a poisoned apple like spanking in a way.

But it seems like some kids internalize things as their fault that ain’t at an early age, and those are the kids and teens and adults I’ve met who also thought this way. Who, when they internally came around to realizing their wrongs done, just self castigate in their head over and over and are upset with themselves long past the wronged party regardless of if it was made right or not.

I try to just tell my kid that it’s easy to say sorry and that there are always ways to make things right. So as long as you do those two things you’re good to go. When I have moments like the “oh no this ain’t still a problem fuck I’ve been better I can be rational and good without being extreme in how I view myself and internal self talk and setting overblown benchmarks for proving my contrition,” I realize we never truly get past things. Just like we have never truly “learned” in an over and done way. We will always have times when we go “well shit, I guess I forgot about this and had to learn it again, even tho I still kind of academically knew it.” Being a parent means having this all the time “you can’t beat yourself up cause you didn’t do perfectly. What do we say?””dont let perfect get in the way of being better” (crap, I need to apply this in my own damn head for ___ situation!!!)
