"I don't think I've ever leaned into the old version of myself more creatively than I have on this album, where it's very, very autobiographical. But also moments of extreme catchiness and moments of extreme personal confession. It's definitely a quirky record. With this album, I felt like I sort of gave myself permission to revisit older themes that I used to write about, maybe look at them with fresh eyes. And to revisit older instruments — older in terms of when I used to use them. Because when I was making 1989, I was so obsessed with it being this concept of Eighties big pop, whether it was Eighties in its production or Eighties in its nature, just having these big choruses — being unapologetically big. And then Reputation, there was a reason why I had it all in lowercase. I felt like it wasn't unapologetically commercial. It's weird, because that is the album that took the most amount of explanation, and yet it's the one I didn't talk about. In the Reputation secret sessions I kind of had to explain to my fans, 'I know we're doing a new thing here that I'd never done before.' I'd never played with characters before. For a lot of pop stars, that's a really fun trick, where they're like, 'This is my alter ego.' I had never played with that before. It's really fun. And it was just so fun to play with on tour — the darkness and the bombast and the bitterness and the love and the ups and the downs of an emotional-turmoil record."

it's bleakly funny that so many people misunderstand chappell roan consistently. like it's always been abundantly clear why she dislikes kamala harris that woman couldn't even make herself say any variation of "trans people deserve safety and access to care", she pissed away millions of dollars on a voter base her campaign just made the fuck up. "undecided republicans" don't exist. republicans always vote republican, the stances or particulars of a candidate do not really matter to that base as long as they're clearly labeled a republican. I personally received a text from the pa dems ON ELECTION DAY saying "despite what she's had to say regarding the israel gaza conflict" like excuse me??? what she's HAD to say? what so we're just admitting we lied about even the most barebones empty statements regarding a genocide? cool. no fucking wonder she lost, it hardly seems like she had any genuine interest in winning to begin with otherwise that campaign wouldn't have made as many massive fumbles as it did knowing the opposition they had

bottom line it's beyond laughable how badly people want her to be some secretly evil republican and that comes down to the fact that most blue state liberals blanketly hate people from red states and hate people from southern states. it also has everything to do with the saying "scratch a liberal and a fascist bleeds" because most hardline dems don't even recognize their own fascist lines of thought and do not stop to think about why they're always so desperate to bargain with people who literally want entire sections of not just the countries population but the world's population violently exterminated and will take actionable steps (as we've seen since january) to make that happen. I think it's extremely clear chappell doesn't have any interest in begging for respectability politics scraps, which shows she actually has some fucking spine

Of course she hates dems as much as she clearly hates republicans and of course one of the first celebrities in modern memory to not be a performative liberal is the one consistently publicly thrashed for rejecting that line of thought. everyone loves throwing around the words tankie or socialist until an actual tankie or socialist shows up then we're pissing ourselves online about how anyone saying a democrat is bad and criticizing nothingburger dem policies that help no one in any meaningful way must actually be a secret conservative you're all so fucking stupid

Okay so I was arguing with a boomer on Facebook about Suki Potier was the fiancee of Tara Browne?? He told me to get "informed" and that there are several books on the market even tho I've read Tara Browne's book where nothing that says that Suki and Tara were engaged.

So anyone here who is an expert of Tara Browne, were they actually engaged???

I just don't believe it because if they actually are the media would refer to Suki as his "fiance" not girlfriend. Also after his split with Nicki he had an affair with Amanda Lear for a bit and then started his relationship with Suki in December 1966, where 2 weeks later Tara died. So tell me, how can he propose to her in such a short time of their relationship? Why no official biography mentioned this? I'm so fucking confused
