The thing i like the least about having hyperfixations/special interests is when it's at its peak and you can't think about anything else.

You only wanna talk abt X and read about X and watch stuff about X and dissect X and make art of X and think about X and so on

Because existing as part of society when you're in this state is SO difficult, everything else seems boring and dull and everything not regarding X turns into a chore

Like yes i wanna watch a movie with my roommates but i want one about X, but they're not interested in that and then i feel bad about being bored in the first 10 minutes of whatever we picked to watch instead, because i know that if I wasn’t on hyperfixation mode I'd be enjoying it
