hii, may I request macaque, wukong, and MK (seperately) x reader who likes to put ribbon bows on their tails? Thought it would be a cute idea ^_^
Hii!! Thank you so much for the request, this is such a cute thing to think about! I hope you enjoy! EDIT: I FORGOT TO WRITE MK IN THIS AS WELL, IM SO SORRY 😭
Macaque, Mk & Wukong With an S/O who likes to decorate their tails!
Tumblr media
Wukong:
Wukong is most certainly confused by your strange habit
If you were to ask him to put a ribbon or bow on his tail, he'd give you a strange look
"A bow? Well... uh, sure bud!"
It doesn't really match his whole "Great Sage Equal to Heaven" schtick in his opinion
What would formidable enemies think if he went into battle with a cutesy bow on his tail??
His monkeys most certainly make fun of him for it, much to his dismay
He wouldn't wear it if he was about to go into battle or leave his mountain at first, because if his monkeys make fun of it who knows who else will do the same?
Eventually he'll warm up to it
If you tie a little orange ribbon at the end of his tail trust and believe he will be working it with pride
"Oooh, I like this color! Goes well with my fur,"
He'd start longingly staring at the sweet ribbons you tie on his tail whenever you're not around and he misses you because they remind him of you
He'll start wearing them out in public with a bit less shame, happily flicking his tail in peoples faces
"Look! My partner gave it to me, isn't it so cute?"
And he'll start wearing them in battles too!
Having a little piece of you there with him gives him just a little bit of an extra boost and reminds him of all of the things he's fighting for
Now he likes to think they go well with his personality
"Great Sage Equal to Heaven" whos not afraid to have a bit of a cutesy accessory while he kicks butt
If you're more sneaky with their placement though, that's a whole other story
He's out enjoying a nice bowl of noodles with his favorite mentor, only mentor honestly, and he hears them chuckle and point at his tail while uttering the words "Nice bow Monkey Princess,"
His face goes bright red and he quickly curls his tail around his leg to hide the thoughtfully tied ribbon from view
"Yeah, so what?! Maybe I was just feelin' a bit more elegant today, you ever think about that?"
But as soon as he bids Mk adieu he's right at your doorstep with his arms crossed over his chest and a pout on his face
An embarrassed scolding is in order for you, that's for sure
"Hun, you know I love you, but you can't just tie ribbons on my tail like that! Do you have any idea how embarrassing it was when my mentor called me a princess?!"
Eventually he relents and you two end up in a hug, his go-to when reassuring you that he's not mad or he's sorry
"Just don't do it without telling me. Next time I could be faced with Macaque, and you know how he is."
All in all it takes him a bit of time to warm up to it, but after that he'll flaunt them, and you, with confidence
Macaque:
Macaque is a lot more reluctant than his sunny counterpart
He has a tough bad boy image to uphold, why on Earth would he let you bedazzle him with your silly ribbons and bows?
"A bow? No thanks darlin'."
It takes lots of begging and whining before he caves in, and even then he refuses to go out in them
You couldn't waterboard the information out of him, but when you finish carefully tying up the little red ribbon on the end of his tail he's in love
It goes well with his cape and adds a sort of air of sophistication onto his overall demeanor
It's probably just the inner drama queen in him speaking but it makes him feel weirdly fancy and extravagant
But again, he's not going to tell you that
He won't protest as much when you tie them on
Will suggest different colors and ways to tie the ribbons
"Why don't we try purple this time? No it's not because I care about what it looks like- it was just a suggestion!"
Sometimes he tries to put them on himself because he's embarrassed to ask you, but he quickly figured out that he cannot tie bows for the life of him
And even if he learns, they're just not the same as yours
He will eventually come around to the idea of wearing them in public
He keeps his ribbon clad tail hidden beneath his cape most of the time unless he's feeling particularly confident or he wants to show it off on purpose
If anyone has the gall to try and make fun of it he's quick to shoot them down
"Yeah I have a bow on my tail, my partner gave it to me. Aww, don't tell me you don't have a partner of your own? Is that why you think you're funny? Because you don't have anyone at home to tell you you're not?"
He warms up to the idea so much that he begins to regularly ask you to decorate his tail with multiple bows and ribbons
One time, as a silly joke, you tied a particularly big red bow at the base of his tail and jokingly told him he looked like a show cat
It was a funny joke, but Macaque really really liked it
So much so that he wore it regularly, asking you to tie it on for him every time he went out
If you were to be sneaky and tie it on his tail without him knowing well..
He's actually not that upset
He's hanging out with Mei, probably the one he likes and relates to the most out of everyone, when she giggles and points at his tail, calling him 'coquette' or something
He's not sure what that term means, but he does find the fact that a little pink bow being tied on his tail without his knowledge to be amusing
Just for funsies he keeps it on all day
If and when he decides to go visit the culprit, which he knows is you, he playfully chides you
"Alright sugarplum, you know I have an image to uphold! You can't just slip little pretty pink bows on my tail without my permission!"
Once you two have had a good laugh he just chuckles and presses a kiss to your forehead
All in all he really likes the bows that you decorate him with and takes it as a sign of affection, but it takes a long time for him to be open about it
Mk:
Mk in his monkey form is certainly.. something
He can't quite control himself in that form yet, but that isn't to say that he's constantly violent
He just doesn't know his own strength
With his monkey form more stern and serious, he doesn't hold back, he's blunt
And, completely unrelated, his voice is like two octaves deeper
He's scared he might hurt you, or the people he cares about, so he rarely ever uses it unless he's in battle or training
In hopes of making him more comfortable and as a way of letting him know that you're okay with this side of himself, you began tying bows on the end of his tail
He's not sure how to feel about the idea at first
"Tying.. bows? Sure, I guess.."
He doesn't know if you don't take him seriously or if you're just trying to be sweet
He's still getting used to having a tail, so sometimes it gets caught on things, which will occasionally lead to your ribbons getting torn
It makes him feel horrible for some reason, and he's always presenting the torn fabric to you like it's the remains of a dead soldier or something
"I'm so sorry. It was an accident, I promise,"
He's not against wearing them out in public (not that he ever goes in public with his monkey form)
If it's after a battle and someone were to say anything about his bow he'd hardly care
"Looks like we got a funny guy over here everyone!"
And everyone in the vicinity glares at them
Much like his mentor, he slowly starts seeing the bows less as just some silly accessory on his tail and more as a subtle reminder of you
Whenever he's in his monkey form he makes sure to come to you for a bow
"I'm feeling kinda red-ish today, what do you think?"
Your plan works, and he starts feeling better about his over powered simian side
You love him no matter what, freakishly strong or just a silly delivery boy, and the bows are just a testament to that
All in all, he finds them adorable, and what they represent fuel him to fully embrace this side of himself in order to protect the people he cares about

If there was one thing twelve year old donghyuck wanted more in this world, other than his mom’s cooking, it was his two best friends coming together. You had been his friend since birth, both your mom’s bonding together before the two of you even came into the world. They met in a birth class, having similar due dates helped them both find comfort and friendship within each other compared to the other moms in the class that were farther along than them. They had already planned playdates after both you and donghyuck were born and even after all that time, they stayed true to those plans.
Your earliest memories have donghyuck in them in some shape, way or form. Whether he was attending you birthday party, or you to his, all the way to the two of you sharing the same home room when you both started school. The dynamic between you two was truly unmatched, something that could never be touched or fault. When you two got older, not much had changed. The excitement of high school had you both buzzing as each day passed through your final years of being just below the line of being a teenager.
Although you both were attached by the hip, you still found space in your young life to befriend other people, or at least donghyuck did. Thats how mark lee came into the picture, being a transfer student in the middle of the year made it hard for him to settle in and become comfortable. Donghyuck saw mark sitting along during lunch one sunny afternoon and although the two had a bit of a rocky start, their friendship blossomed into something that they both needed. Now that he had such a connection with his new found friend, all he wanted to do is share his love for mark with you. You thought you were a welcoming person, easy to get along with and fairly nice, but the day donghyuck brought you and mark together would just so happen be the day you lost your best friend.
Tumblr media
“I’m telling you, that doesn’t sound right to me.”
Mark rolls his eyes, laughing a little under his breath as he strums his slender fingers against the strings on his guitar. “Its not finished yet, gotta trust the process.” You simply reply with a hum as you watch mark fiddle and try to tune the strings to his liking. The two of you were cooped up in his dorm room, him sitting on the edge of his bed with the instrument rested in his lap while you opted to sit in the chair that usually was tucked under his desk. “What are you doing here anyway, don't you have other friends to bother instead?” Rolling your eyes, you feel your phone buzzing in your pocket. “Actually, no i don't, i thought we went over this. Yeongmin is off studying so she can’t aid my boredom.”
Mark continued strumming along the strings till he got a rhythm he liked and started to hum along with the tune that was filling the room. “I swear you’re gonna be famous one of these days.” Looking down at your phone, you notice the groupchat you’re in with your friends is going off. “That would be nice actually.” Unlocking your phone, a smile spreads across your lips at the messages that were popping up. “Maybe if you didn’t have crippling stage fright, you’d be able to actually play the songs you sing to more people than just me.” A gentle laugh left mark’s throat as he set the guitar down on its stand beside his bed. “Actually, I sing to Haechan too, so don’t come for me.” His name left a sour taste in your mouth, your face scrunching up as you try to block out his stupid face in your mind. Mark could tell you two still weren’t on good terms, but he didn’t want to push it again and opted to pick up his phone that was vibrating on his bed.
You stole a glace at the screen, catching the name of the caller id. “Speak of the devil and he shall appear.” You mumble underneath your breath. Mark answers the facetime call, holding his phone in his hand, but opting to hold it further down at an angle. “Yo, whats up?” The background noise was windy, letting both you and mark know that he must've been outside. “Bro where have you been, i've been looking for you for hours!”
“If you didn’t find him, he obviously didn’t wanna be found, but if its you he’s hiding from who can blame him.” Mumbling beneath your breath, but mark still heard you. “Hey, you be nice over there.” haechan looked confused on the screen, strolling around on campus to his unknown destination. “Are you talking to yourself again?” mark turned his camera around, showing you sitting comfortably in his chair as you scroll mindlessly on social media. “No, im not talking to myself again, y/n is here.” by the mention of your name, haechan rolled his eyes. “Why is she always there when im coming over.”
“I didn't even know you're coming over.” added in his defense after switching his camera back around. “If that thing is on his way, i’m out.” you piped up, grabbing your bag from off the floor as you stood up from the chair. “Text me when you make it in at least?” mark felt helpless sometimes. He never truly understood what went down between you and haechan all those years ago, but splitting his free time between the two of could could be more challenging some days than others. If he wasn’t chilling with you in the comfort of the few places you knew haechan wouldn’t be caught dead near like your dorm or the library, he was chilling with haechan and the friend group they developed over the years being in college.
“Will do, have fun with the devils incarnate.” You say back as you’re opening the door to make your exit. Just as you’re leaving, you come face to face with something firm or shall you say someone. “Do you ever use those eyes of yours or are they just there for decoration?” you recognized that voice from anywhere, it being the same voice belonging to the one person you were hoping not to see on your way out. “Can you move lee, or are you just that self absorbed to think that I could just see you standing outside the door before it was even open?” Haechan scoffed as you walked past him, huffing as you nudge him with your shoulder to get him out of your way. From mark’s dorm to yours wasn't a far walk, which was good for you when you needed to get out of your room or just needed his help on an assignment. Unfortunately for you, it meant that haechan too didn’t have much of a far walk either seeing that his dorm hall was across from yours.
When you get into your room, your roommate wonchae looked up from her phone as she was laid out on her bed. “I thought you were at mark’s for a few hours?” Tossing your bag down beside the door you huff as you walk over to your bed and crawl underneath the blanket after removing your shoes. “I was till donghyuck decided to grace mark with his presence.” Wonchae giggled as she sits up, looking at you getting comfortable beneath your blanket as you pull your phone out. “Wanna call the girls over for a movie night instead?” you glance over at her, a smile spreading across your lips as you prop yourself up on your elbow. “As long as we’re not too loud again, we can’t afford another complaint this month.” Wonchae was already texting the groupchat before you could even finish your sentence. The night proceeded with you and your friends having a movie marathon despite your early class in the morning. You assumed it wouldn’t be too much to unwind a bit, binge watching three movies back to back. Somehow, you didn’t make it to your bed when you initially planned to due to the twins, wonchae and yechae convincing you to pull through the last movie.
Since the time on the clock read after midnight by the time the movies were finished, the three girls opted to sleep over with you and your roommate instead of taking the risk of going back to their own dorms. Yeongmin’s dorm was the furthest from yours, being about a twenty minute walk and you all collectively agreed she especially was sleeping over. Somehow you and yeongmin both managed to fit in your tiny bed for the night while the twins and sin-ra snuggled up on wonchae’s bed across the room. By the next morning, you woke up to the sound of yeongmin snoring in your ear beside you. She had her arms and legs tangled in yous, trying to pry her off you as you crane your neck to look over at the time clock on your desk. Your worst fears were confirmed when the time read nine after when your first class was supposed to finish. Quickly getting out of the warmth of your bed, you scramble to get ready and are out the door before you can properly apologize for waking everyone up.
If you were lucky, or rather fast enough, you can catch your professor before he starts his next class and get the notes on what you missed. You make a mental note to thank yourself when you set up your schedule for this semester for giving you breaks in between classes, especially on the midday schedules. As your toppling up the stairs leading into the building, you spot haechan leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. He hadn’t noticed you thankfully, not wanting him to hold the fact that you almost busted your face open trying to get inside over your head. He looked so into thought, looking out over the campus as you take the opportunity to grip the railing to catch your breath.
“Look who decided to show up for class today.” rolling your eyes, you straighten your posture as he pulls himself off the wall he once was comfortably leaning against. “Don’t start with me today, i almost died trying to get over here to catch professor choi before his next class.”
“Don't bother, he cut class short for some family emergency or something, but i can fill you in if you fix your attitude.” He truly was the epitome of your frustration. “Just tell me what i missed so i can get away from you as quickly as possible.” there was a mischievous glint in his eyes when he tools steps towards you. “Looks like you’re not gonna get too far, we’re partnered up for a presentation.”
If the universe didn’t already hate you, you’d think this was your first sign. “I can always request a partner switch, you know?” Haechan only laughs in response, clutching the bag hung over his shoulder with one hand. “Good luck with that, he made it pretty clear that he wasn’t giving in because this will be counted towards our final.” a sigh left your lips as you accepted your fate, you and haechan would have to spend an unknown amount of hours in each others presence without any chance at getting around it. “Just meet me after our next class and we can go over it then.” WIth that, you turned on your heals and made your way to the nearest cafe to get something in your body since you didn’t have the opportunity to grab breakfast. Thankfully for you, your campus was notorious for its tiny cafes placed around all of campus which not only helped feed your caffeine addiction, it helped other students make some money as they swim in student dept.
As good as every cafe you’ve been to on campus can be, none of them compare to the baristas at cafe neo, something about the way those boys make your drinks just the way you like them has been without a doubt why you only trust them with your order. As you make your way across campus and the cafe is within sight, you over hear a conversation between the two girls in front of you. “Oh my god, look what bomi just posted!” the one to your right gasped, whipping out her phone as she brings it to the slightly shorter girls attention. “You’re kidding, isn’t she dating haechan?” you’re trying not to be nosy, not fond of listening into other peoples conversation, but at the mention of haechan’s name, you can’t help, but keen in. “Guess not anymore, look at the caption, those hearts are definitely more than just friendly.”
The two part off of the way you were going, leaving you with little information as to what their reactions were about. You had just saw haechan, judging by his usual cocky and self absorbing nature, he seemed all but heartbroken. You push your wondering thoughts aside as you enter in the cafe, smiling over at the tall boy who stood behind the counter. “Welcome to cafe neo– oh hi y/n!” his nametag read jisung, but you always referred to him as the cute underclassman who blushed when you tipped him. “Hi ji, anything new on the menu?” Jisung smiled at you as you walk up to the counter. “Nothing today, chenle is still brainstorming over ideas to ask the culinary department on what they can come up with in the back, you just want the usual?” You skim over the menu that was hanging on the wall behind him, as if you got anything different, but it never hurt to look. “Mmm, yeah, just one please.”
Getting the money from your pocket, you lay it on the counter as he typed in your order on the screen in front of him. It’s times like this that make you wonder how often you come here for this boy to know your order by heart. He takes the money you laid out for him and as he tries to hand you your change, you throw your hand up in refusal. “No, you keep it, you boys work too hard.” theres a slight pinkish tent to his cheeks as he slips the few bills and coins in the glass jar beside the front of the counter. “I’ll call you when its ready!”
Throughout the rest of the day, you take your perfectly made drink with you to your next class and go about your day, everything feeling as normal as it could. One thing that slightly bothered you were the hushed whispers of Haechan’s relationship and how quickly his ex girlfriend seemed to move on. People were coming up with theories amongst themselves as to what could’ve happened and if Haechan knew. Just like you, some said he seemed fine for the first part of the day till the alleged post was made from which you overheard. You didn’t pay it any mind and went about your day till you were back in your room for the night.
Tumblr media
“And if you carry this number, you should get one of these answers down here.”
“And how do i know if i got them right?”
“We won’t know till we actually try, now won’t we?” Jaemin, the guy who you shared a math class with last semester, asked you to tutor him this semester so that he might actually have a chance of passing the class and getting out of this hellhole. His words, not yours. “Or, brillant idea, you can use your pretty brain and show me which answer is correct.” Jaemin was indeed a smart guy, but it was moments like these that you questioned if he really had a multi functioning organ in that skull of his or was it just hot air. “Not a chance, solve it the way I showed you and we’ll go from there.” With a defeated huff, he finally puts the pencil that he has been fiddling with the last few minutes to work.
The two of you met in the library near his hall regularly, about twice during the week and an extra day is added when he has an upcoming test and if you have the time. The library usually was quiet around this time of day, most keeping to themselves as they cater to their own work, but for some reason you felt a pair of eyes staring at the back of your head. Just as you’re about to take a look around the room, the chair beside you is being pulled out and haechan finds himself in the seat next to you. “Where have you been?” you look over at him, slightly shocked to see him actually in the library. “Excuse me?” His face tells you that he’s annoyed, rolling his eyes dramatically as he leans into your personal space. “I said, where have you been, i've been all over campus for you and had to result to mark to find you.”
You motion to Jaemin who was focused in on the problem in front of him, or at least he was when you last looked his way. Now he has his signature grin on his lips, flashing his teeth as he witness the unwelcomed tension between you and haechan. “For your information, i’m tutoring pretty boy over here and your grumpiness is interrupting him.” Jaemin’s smile widens even more as the vein in Haechan’s forehead looks like it about to pop. “I, quite frankly, don’t give a fuck. maybe send someone a text next time so i don’t have to look so desprate to find you.” You scoff, sitting back in your seat as you realize his undertones. Who was he to say that looking for you made him look desperate, he literally is desperate in this moment.
“Sorry to break up this beautiful moment, but its about that time for me to go, so y/n, same time next week?” Nodding, you let out a sigh as Jaemin starts to pack his things into his bag and slings it over his shoulder. “There, happy now? You ran off Jaemin.” haechan ignores you, pulling his laptop out of his own bag and sets it onto the table. “We have roughly a month and a half to pump out a fucking book of an essay and make a slide point presentation, the faster we get this finished the less I have to see you in my free time.” He was truly unbelievable, first he comes and interrupts your personal time to help the needy, needy being Jaemin and his need to pass his class, and now he throws wanting to get away from you as quickly as he can? You are definitely adding this to the list of why you hate him.
The two of you go over the topic you were given, trying to break down the work between the two of you into categories: what you can do separate and what you’ll have to do together. Since you both were already here, you decided it would be best to get a head start on the research portion. Time must’ve caught up with you both, wrapping things up right before the library closed for the night. “I can’t look at this screen anymore, lets just end it here and meet up another day.” You grab your forgotten bag from the floor, carrying it on your arm as Haechan packs up his laptop. By the time he is done, you’re already making your way out the door and dredging the walk back to your dorm. Quick approaching steps trail behind you as haechan jogs to catch up to you. “Woah, not so fast, aren’t you forgetting something?” you don’t bother to stop, continuing your walk as he walks beside you. “And that is?”
“We don’t have any way of contacting each other, idiot, so give me your number.” You halt your movements and with a sigh, turn to face him. The bright sky from when you first entered the library earlier is now replaced with the deep colors of the night. The moon was full, shining its light down and being your only real light to see haechan’s features that seem more soft in this setting. “Do you still remember my number?” Haechan looks taken aback, looking at you with a lingering confusion in his eyes. “You still have that number?”
“Mhm, so if you still know it then there’s your way of getting to me.” You’re about to turn and make your way to your dorm, your stomach urging you to find food soon. Haechan was chewing on his bottom lip, reaching out for your arm as he watched you try to walk away. “What is it donghyuck? I’m hungry and tired, what could you possibly want now?” The wind leaves his lungs as you say his name. Once he got to high school, many people started sticking him with the nickname Haechan, the reasoning behind it was his bright smile and personality, but you still saw him as donghyuck even after all this time.
“Just come with me, your dorm is too far to be walking at this time of night.” You didn’t get a chance to protest, he was already dragging you along with him to his car parked out front. “Fine, but I swear if you try to kill me with your driving I will come back to haunt your ugly ass.” You earn a snicker from him, his hand still holding your arm till you two reach his car and you slide into his passenger seat. Haechan fits perfectly into the drivers seat, putting the keys into the ignition and starting up his car once you are locked in. The two of you don’t say much, letting the radio fill in the silence of the drive. You’re too busy looking out the window to realize he passes up your hall, looking over at him with confusion once you see an unfamiliar street.
“Uhm, where are we going?”
“Dinner.” The words fall from his mouth so nonchalantly that you don’t question it any further, sinking into the seat as you let him drive to wherever he wanted. You’re not exactly sure why, but part of you always wanted a moment like this. Sitting in the car with Haechan, driving around town till it got dark was one thing you dreamt of back when you were both young, back when you still could see yourself in his future. Now that you’re doing it, it almost feels foreign. Sure, everything about his car screamed Haechan, the little things dangling from his rear view mirror gave that away, but the boy beside you was far from familiar. He was uncharted territory, someone you barely knew and to be beside him, being this close to him brought on a headache you weren’t expecting.
The two of you pull through the Taco Bell drive through, getting in line behind the cars. “What do you want?” You tell him your order after glancing over the menu. Even though you already knew what you wanted, you still wanted to give it some time to tell him in the order you wanted it. You were the type of person who wasn’t afraid of change, but didn’t go out of your way to invite it either. Always ordering the same thing from each place you go, you found comfort in the things that could always remain the same, like your Taco Bell order.
After your order is put through, you’re pulling your wallet out to give him cash for your part. “Here, this is for the food.” Haechan simply ignores you, handing over his card to the guy at the window. “Hello? Take the cash before I take it back.” After getting his card back, he slips it into his pocket and pulls forward. “Save your money, y/n, it’s not a big deal.” He seemed short with you tonight, not speaking up or putting much of a fight into it like he usually did in the passing times you two saw one another. It felt odd to see him brush you off, an unsettling feeling washing over you as you put the money back into your wallet.
After he had gotten the food and your two drinks, he whipped his car around and parked in a spot on the side of the building. “Are you fine eating here, I’m kinda hungry and don’t wanna have to wait till we get back.”
“No, yeah, it’s fine, but are you okay?”
You could see his body tense up at your question, pushing the straw into your drink before doing so to his own. “I guess, why do you care?” You’re sorting through the bag, grabbing what you assumed was his and handing it over to him. He goes to grab his food from your hand, your fingers brushing against each other’s for a moment. It wasn’t an unpleasant feeling, the warmth of his hand against yours, but it felt all too familiar and you almost jerk back as he quickly grabs the food. “Because I’m a decent human being and I knew you well enough back then to know that something is off.”
If you could read his thoughts, you’d see how badly your words hurt him just now. You were far from wrong, you truly did know him like the back of your hand and maybe even better than he knew himself, but too much time between you two had you both wondering if you knew anything about each other anymore. Amongst the burning anger you both have for one another, there was still some sort of longing within you that had you both slightly questioning the downfall of your friendship, but never enough to where either would act on it. “I don’t know, it’s kind of weird to think of opening up to someone I hate.”
“Then don’t think about it right now, if you need someone to talk to then do so. If it means forgetting you hate me just to get it off your chest, do so donghyuck.” A somber smile finds its way onto his lips as he tears open the wrapping that covered his food. “You’re a little too nice to me for someone who hates me just as much as I hate them.”
“Just because I hate you doesn’t mean I’m evil, I have a heart too you know?”
“Oh really, I never would’ve guessed judging by the lifeless look in your eyes.” You roll your eyes at his jab, mumbling something about dropping it before relishing in your food. The two of you don’t talk much after that, sitting in his car with the only form of sounds filling it were you two eating till he dropped you off. After getting in, wonchae gave you a weird look as you looked both defeated and exhausted. You told her you had a rough day and wanted sleep to be the reason you forgot about it.
Tumblr media
You hadn’t seen or heard from Haechan since the night he bombarded you in the middle of your study session with Jaemin then took you out to Taco Bell. Sure, you’d see him in your shared class, but not once did his eyes meet yours and he kept every snarky remark to himself if he had any. You didn’t pay it any mind, assuming whatever was going on with him would pass and he’d be back to his normal asshole-like self soon. In between your classes for the day, you decided to slip off to the neo cafe for some well needed caffeine to keep you going through the day. While you were here, you planned to slip off in a quiet corner and let the music they play in the small room milk your brain to help you continue working on the parts of your presentation with Haechan.
As you’re walking up to the counter, you notice Jisung was nowhere to be found and you opt to wait patiently by the counter. The ring of the bell signaling the doors movement doesn’t catch your attention, but the familiar voice behind you does when you turn your head to the boy who called your name. “Can I help you?” Haechan hadn’t turned to look at you, his eyes scanning over the menu. “What’s good here, do you know?” You give him a puzzled look, wondering where this small talk came from. “Uhm, if your taste buds are even remotely the same, I’d say you’d get the sweet honey taro drink, it comes iced or hot.” He simply nods, tearing his eyes from the menu and lets his gaze fall onto you. The two of you lock eyes for a moment, trying to find something that felt familiar behind them, but all you could see was the void behind his golden irises.
“Y/n, I’m so sorry to keep you waiting! Chenle was about to burn down the kitchen so I had to step away for a second.” Jisung’s voice pulled you out of your thoughts, turning to him with a soft smile. “That’s okay ji, I’m more than happy to wait if that meant this sacred place would still be my caffeine plug.” Jisung smiles as he enters your order, his attention going from yours to Haechan whose gaze has yet to leave your figure. Your eyes follow Jisung’s, looking over at Haechan. “Oh, no we’re not—“
“I’ll just have what she’s having.” Haechan pulls out some cash from his back pocket, bringing it out for Jisung. Your mind couldn’t wrap itself around Haechan’s weird demeanor lately, he not only has been nice to you, but he’s paid for you twice. You knew he was sick in the head, but now you’re guessing it’s more than just his mental stability. When Jisung gives Haechan his change, you fumble with your pocket and pull out a few bills to throw into the tip jar, something you didn’t want to miss even if you weren’t the one paying. Jisung silently thanked you with his smile, to which you returned and told you both that he’d call you when your drinks were ready.
You were about to start questioning the weirdly quiet Haechan before he motioned for you both to move over to a table a little further in a corner. The two of you sat down, setting your bag against your chair as you prop your elbows up onto the table. “Okay, you’re acting weird and it’s starting to make me feel uncomfortable.” Haechan’s lips part as he goes to speak, but Jisung’s presence interrupts him as the younger boy sets both the cups down. “Thanks, ji.” You said, grabbing one of the drinks and bringing it towards you. “Y/n, back in the car you said something that I’ve been thinking about lately.” He had your full attention, something that made him oddly feel sheer to you. You were leaned in, your body language letting him know that you were listening, despite the awkwardness of the moment.
“You said that even though you hate me, you still have a heart too.” Nodding in confirmation, you remember saying it, but it didn’t make sense as to why he was bringing it up. “I, uhm, don’t know if you heard or not, but my girlf—my ex broke up with me recently and I really want to get her back.” You bring the cup in your hands to your lips, taking in a slow sip in case his next words are your cause of death. “And the only way I can think to do that is to make her jealous and I know what you’re thinking and I can hear it now, but just hear me out?” There it was, his intentions and reasoning behind his odd behavior lately. As you process his words, you already know where this is going and your drink decides to be the one to take you out today instead. You start to choke as the liquid goes off its track and nearly comes back through your nose.
Haechan’s eyes widen, staring at you in surprise as you try to gain back the air that just left your lungs as you cough. “Are you okay?” You simply nod, patting your chest as your drink is put back onto the table and you’re taking in slow breaths to steady yourself in the seat. “Uh yeah, no wait, okay hold on, you want to do what now?” The boy across from you drops his head slightly, feeling embarrassed by even bringing up the situation. Yeah, he wanted his ex back, he truly loved her, or so that’s what he thought it was. “I know it sounds ridiculous, but you’re the only person I thought of.”
“And what makes you think it’ll be believable? I mean the whole campus knows we hate each other.”
“But they also know we have history, plus this project will be a good enough cover to make them believe we had some spark going off or whatever.” You stay silent, contemplating the whole ordeal. On one hand, this could go terribly wrong in many ways, people could not believe you two and this could blow up in your face for the rest of your time at this university or it could go great and once he’s back in the arms of his ex lover, he’ll finally leave your hair for good. “I’m not saying yes, so don’t get too excited, but if I were to think about it, what do I get out of it?” Haechan knew you were going to want something, a slight smirk forming in the corners of his lips. In his mind, he guesses some things never change and with that, neither have you. “I’ll leave you alone after this, no more bickering or picking at you and shit—oh and I’ll do half of your work for the project!”
Damn, he truly was desperate. You press your lips together, trying to debate if this truly would be worth it. The outcome, if good, would be best for both parties and maybe you’d finally have a peaceful rest of your time here. Something deep down inside tells you it’s a bad idea, but you choose to ignore it because if it meant he’d take over half of what you have to do on your shared presentation, more free time for you. “I have to go to class, but I’ll let you know by later tonight.” Your watch indicated if you didn’t leave now, you’d be late for your next class and since you have a lab today, you especially didn’t want to miss it. You go to stand, one hand holding your bag while the other grabs your cup. Haechan stands too, his bag still hanging on his shoulder as he goes to grab his cup. The two of you exit the Neo cafe quietly, unaware of the lingering eyes that follow you two out.
After your final class, you make a b-line to Mark’s dorm where he was expecting you. It had been a few days since you two had time to hang out and you both were taking the opportunity to have some study time together in the quiet of his dorm. Once he signs you in as a guest, you both go up to his dorm and make yourselves comfortable, you being at his desk and him sitting on his bed. “What do you have to get done?” Pulling out your notes from your lab along with your laptop, you set everything out on his desktop. “Just going over some notes and typing them into a small essay for class, you?”
“Man, I got a quiz to study for and since professor moon likes to give them at the worst times possible, I gotta get as much as I can in.” The two of you fell into a comfortable silence as you both busy yourselves in what you were doing, Mark had his speaker on and chose a calming playlist he created for when you two would study like this. The music really did help you stay focused, having something to fill the room to keep your brain from getting off track. You’re about halfway done typing away on your laptop when your phone buzzes beside it. Glancing over, you notice a few missed notifications from your shared group chat with your friends, a few social media notifications and a text from an unknown number. You’re about to pick up your phone to see who texted you when an incoming call pops up on the screen, the same number that texted you.
You slide your thumb across your phone, bringing it to your ear. “Hello?”
“You didn’t answer my text.” Of course it would be Haechan, who else were you expecting. In all honesty, you did expect him to text you at some point, but the call was a surprise for you. “I’m studying, like you should be doing too.”
“I need to know your answer, don’t get too excited.” You can practically feel him smirking through the phone followed by some shuffling. “Where are you anyway? I stopped by your hall and you weren’t there.”
Your posture straightens, wondering who he asked and what he told them when we made his way to your dorm. “You did what? Are you insane?” Haechan laughs, a soft laugh as you lean back in the seat. “Slightly, I’ve been told that’s a part of my charm though.” Rolling your eyes, you huff before looking over your shoulder at mark. “I’m with a friend, why?”
“Tell me where you’re at unless you want me to go to every hall on campus.”
“You’re fucking psycho, I’m with mark, idiot.” At the mention of his name, mark looks up at you as you swivel the chair around. You mouth Haechan’s name to him to which he looked genuinely confused. “Figures, I’m on my way.” He ended the call before you could even protest, swearing under your breath as you stood up to get your things together. “Why are you—actually no, since when did you and Haechan call each other?”
“I’ll explain later, I gotta go though bub, but I appreciate you studying with me.” You gave mark an apologetic smile as you packed your bag up with your laptop, making sure to grab everything you had. “Text me when you get in.” Mark had stood up from his bed, making his way over to you to gently pull you into a hug. The two of you never hugged much, the sudden affection leaving you taken aback slightly, but nevertheless you wrap your arms around him as he did you. “I’m right across the street, I’m not going rouge.” He hums, pulling back from the hug as he gives you an uneasy smile. “Yeah, I know, but you’re going with Haechan and that’s what makes me worried.”
It too made you worried, even if you didn’t exactly agree to his lil situation he proposed earlier, that nagging feeling that it wasn’t going to end well never left you every time you gave it more thought. “I’ll be fine, plus my location is on if I don’t text you by nine.” Mark only laughs as your arms drop from around him and you leave his room. It doesn’t take you long to get out the building, spitting Haechan’s car parked in front with his passenger window rolled down. He’s leaned over, a smirk across his lips while one hand grips the top of the steering wheel. “Hop in.” He says as you make your way down to his car. Once you get in, you throw your bag in his back seat and fasten your seatbelt before Haechan takes off and drives you two off campus.
“And where exactly are we going?”
Haechan doesn’t look over at you, his eyes focused on the road, but he can feel your stare on him. He was wearing a letterman jacket with a black shirt underneath and some jeans that complemented the look, it was the first time you really took in his attire and you swore he didn’t have that jacket on earlier. “Somewhere quiet we can talk, to sort everything out for the show we’re about to put on.” He’s cocky, confident and arrogant. You hated it, hated how smug he looked as the words fell from his mouth. “I haven’t even said yes yet, did that get through your thick skull?” He takes a moment to glance over at you, his mischievous expression never faulting. “You wouldn’t be in my car with me if you didn’t want to.” Fuck him for being right and fuck him for being slightly attractive when he said it. Slightly, not very or even a full hundred percent, but slightly.
He drives you two off to an abandoned looking parking lot where he puts his car into park and turns slightly to face you. “Have you thought about it enough?” You turn to face him, getting as comfortable as you can in the seat. “I guess, but you better pull through with doing half of my part of the project or else I’ll castrate you, no hesitation.” Haechan laughs, a full laugh that has his head tilting back just a bit. You’re fighting the smile that threatens to form on your lips. “You have my word, but we have more important things to go over.” He searches your face when you remain quiet, having the same look you did back at the cafe earlier, he knew you were listening. “Okay, so I was thinking our first appearance as a newly and very much in love ‘couple’ should be at the party this weekend.”
“Scratch that, I don’t party.”
“You’re gonna have to if you wanna keep up with me.” You scowl at him, rolling your eyes mentally as you give in. “Fine, but I’m not making it a habit, I have grades to keep up ya know?” He simply nods, going over the next few things y’all as a couple would have to do together in order to pull this off. Your first outing would be at the party, to much of your disapproval and the following will fall into place like dominos. You’d start having lunch together if your schedules met up, the two of you would spend time between classes together, again if your schedules met up, then you’d also have to sit beside him in your shared class. He also made mention that he’d be picking you up and dropping you off at your dorm so that you’d always be seen with him to make it believable. “Now we need to set some ground rules.”
“Ground rules? What are we, five years old?”
A memory flashes through Haechan’s mind, back to when you two were five. You had been on the playground at school by yourself and he was off on the monkey bars when you had fallen off the swing. The ground did not aid your fall, scraping your elbow and knee which resulted in a cry that not only alerted your teacher, but haechan. When get got to you, you were sniffling over the pain and the dirt on your dress, a dress that your mom bought for you for your previous birthday. “Y/n, i told you to wait for me.” Five year old Haechan pouted as he walked with you and the teacher to the nurses office. “I wanted to swing, I didn’t think I’d get hurt.” You replied, holding his hand gently. After that day, the two of you made a rule that you’d play together to make sure if something went wrong, you’d be by each other's side.
“The first rule, no one can know, not your roommate or your friends, if you have any, not even Mark.” You scoff, hitting his arm to which he whined. “For your information, I have friends and it’s not only Mark.” Haechan rubs the sore spot on his arm as he shakes his head at you. “Yeah yeah, the voices in your head don’t count.”
“Fuck you, Lee.”
“Second rule, no falling in love, not with anyone while this is going on, which goes without saying, but no hooking up either and no falling in love with me.”
“How can anyone fall in love with someone like you?” You didn’t realize the weight of your words till you watched the smile from his face fade away. Guilt washed over you in a wave, your face dropping as you see him fiddling with the buttons on his jacket. You’re about to apologize when you see his mood shift, he turns back facing the wheel and starts his car. “Yeah, anyway, two rules and that’s that.” You don’t say anything back, turning back in your seat to fasten your seatbelt. Haechan drives you back onto campus and drops you off in front of your hall. “What time is your class in the morning?” He asks as he puts his car into park. “I think it’s an eight am class, but I’ll text you when I get in.” He nods as you free yourself and get out of his car.
Heading upstairs, the phone in your hand is going off with missed messages from your group chat with your friends. You’re smiling down at them as you push your door open, only to look up and see your four friends sitting with their arms crossed. “Oh hello, did I miss something?”
“We missed you!” Yeongmin stated, sitting with her legs crossed on your bed. “Where have you been, ma’am?” Yechae asked as she gave you a knowing smile. “I was just out, jeez, I’m sorry mom.” Sin-ra giggles as she pushes out her phone for you to see. “Uh huh, and whose car was this?” All the girls ooo at you as you sit down on your bed, filling in the spot next to Yeongmin. “You watched me!” Wonchae shook her finger at you, “What else were we supposed to do when you went missing? One minute, you’re at Mark’s dorm and the next, you’re off the grid!” The four girls immediately started questioning you as you brushed off their curiosity with half-assed answers. You wanted so badly to tell them all that’s going on and the situation you had gotten yourself into, but that was one of the two rules Haechan made. No one can know.
A loud knock on the door interrupts the conversation, all of you looking at one another. “Oh, that must be our RA, I think the pizza is here.” Yeongmin gets up from your bed and goes to open the door, unexpecting the boy who was on the other side. “Hi, uhm, is y/n here?” Haechan’s voice immediately caught your attention as you scramble off your bed while the other three girls give you wide eyed looks. “I’ll get it!” Yeongmin’s grip on the door is stronger than your force of trying to push her out the way. She moves, but not enough to where you'd be blocking their view. She only steps back, opening the door even more for them all to see him standing there with your bag in hand. “Hi, sorry, I didn’t even realize I left it.”
Haechan can tell by the look on your friends' faces that they were shocked to see him there. He had an audience and he was about to put on a show. “No problem baby, you left it in my backseat.” The sudden nickname makes your stomach flip, but you weren’t about to show him that. Instead, you reach for the bag to which he moves with his hand. “Ah ah, I want a kiss goodbye first.” You immediately glare at him to which he gives you a smirk. “Not in front of my friends, silly.” The emphasis you put on the last word has Haechan smiling even wider. “Just one for the road?” With a deep breath in, you had only two options. Kiss him and get him to leave or knee him in his most valued area, but that would be too red of a flag for your friends. You take a step closer to him, standing up on your toes as you press a quick peck on his cheek. As you do so, you grab for your bag that he still was holding, your fingers brushing against his.
“Thank you, I’ll see you in the morning?” Haechan looks dumbfounded for a minute, blinking down at you with slightly parted lips. He wasn’t expecting you to actually kiss him, so for you to do so, he was a bit taken aback. “I’ll be here, goodnight babygirl.”
The show Haechan put on caused an uproar within your friend group that lasted just long enough before the three had to go back to their rooms. They were questioning everything from what the hell that was and since when were you babygirl for anyone else, but them. When you finally admitted that he was your (fake) boyfriend, they all congratulated you on your new relationship and only wished they knew about him before.
Tumblr media
The next morning went according to your plans you and haechan texted about the night before. He picked you up, parked right in front of your dorm before your class and even stopped by and got you a drink from the Neo cafe. After he dropped you off at your first class, you didn’t see him much till your shared class where he saved you a seat. The two of you went your separate ways after he walked you to your next class and eventually he dropped you off back at your dorm. “The party starts in a few hours so I’ll text you when I’m coming by.” He said, watching as you get out of his car. “Got it, also don’t come in again, you nearly killed my friends with your little stunt you pulled.” This earned a laugh from Haechan as you shut the door and he waited till you were inside before he pulled off.
By the time you got inside your room, all your friends were already sitting on your and wonchae’s beds as they watched a movie on your shared tv. “Oh good, just in time, the movie just started!” Yechae smiled at you as she paused the movie. “Actually, I have plans, I’m so sorry.” A pout forms on your bottom lip in hope they forgive you. “Actually, do you guys wanna come with me? Haechan is taking me to a party and I don’t wanna leave you guys here.” Sin-ra was already jumping off the bed as she went straight to your closet. “A party, fucking bet!” The other three girls join in as they raid Wonchae’s closet and you text Haechan letting him know they’re coming. To your surprise, he responds with ‘the more the merrier ;)’ and you brush off the wink as you try to hide the blush that crept onto your cheeks.
Since there were so many of you and you know already you won’t all fit in Haechan’s car, the girls opt to take Yechae’s car as well and after you all get dressed, you get a text that Haechan was waiting for you out front. “Alright, he’s here, y’all ready?”
“Go ahead and send us the address, we’ll catch up.” Yeongmin gives you a playful push out your door, turning to ask her why before she shuts the door. With that, you go ahead down to his car and open his passenger door. “Hey, the girls are gonna meet us there so can you send me the address really quick?” You haven’t looked at him yet, trying to get your phone out of your pocket. Haechan, on the other hand, couldn’t tear his eyes off of you. You chose to wear an off the shoulder shirt to attempt to blend in paired with some of your nicer jeans and the exposed skin has his heart racing. “Hyuck?” Turning your attention to him, you take in his attire. Leather jacket with a white undershirt and black jeans paired with a black belt. Damn, he actually looked good.
“You look beautiful, y/n.” He sounded like he didn’t mean to say that out loud, his voice barely over a whisper, but that didn’t stop the blood rushing to your cheeks. “Thank you, not too bad yourself.” Haechan’s face was similar to yours, his cheeks a soft shade of pink. Not just from your compliment, but from how effortlessly the forgotten nickname rolled off your tongue. A few minutes felt like forever passed, the two of you staring at each other with something similar in each other's eyes. For Haechan, it looked like a longing feeling swirling around in his eyes while for you, he could see the same little girl you were back when you were kids and he wonders how much time has passed since he’s seen you like this. You’re the first to break contact, looking away awkwardly as you open your phone to Yechae’s messages. “The address?”
“Huh, I’m sorry, what did you ask for?”
“I asked you earlier for the address to the party.”
Haechan’s lips formed an o as he took the phone you handed over for him. He took the phone, this time your fingers just miss each other and you can’t deny you miss the warmth that radiates from him. After he types in the address, he hands over your phone and the two of you drive silently to the party with the music volume on low. It doesn’t take you long to arrive, people coming in and out as he opts to park up front. “Isn’t it illegal to park here, I thought this was for members only?” You’re unbuckling your seatbelt as you look through the window at the Greek letters above. “Not for me it isn’t.”
His words alone leave you slightly confused, but you get out of the car and as he walks on the other side, he has his hand out for you. “What am I supposed to do with that?”
“Grab it, we’re a couple, remember?” Oh yeah, you’re here as his girlfriend. Right. Hesitantly, you take your hand within his and interlock your fingers. You haven’t held his hand since you were kids, but damn did it feel right. His hand, obviously larger now, fits with yours perfectly and you shove down the butterflies that climb up your throat as the two of you go inside. The room was crowded, people everywhere leaving little room to actually get through. Haechan’s grip on your hand tightens as he guides you through the room and you can feel the stares of everyone on you as you two make your entrance. The two of you find your way through the main area and over to a slightly less crowded place where some familiar guys stand around a table playing beer pong.
“I want you to meet some guys.” He says loudly to make sure you can hear him over the music. You simply nod and stand a little closer to him as people walk past you. Haechan calls over a few guys you’ve only seen in passing, one very tall and the other slightly shorter with multi-colored hair. “Johnny, Taeyong, this is my girlfriend y/n, y/n, this is Johnny and Taeyong.” Johnny, the taller one gives you a sweet smile as he grabs your free hand and brings it to his lips. “Pleasure to meet you.” Taeyong laughs as he pats the others back. “Watch it, Haechan is giving you the death glare.” Haechan drops your hand as you shyly smile, wrapping his arm around your waist and resting his hand firmly on your hip. “It’s nice to finally meet you y/n.”
“You’ve heard of me before?”
Taeyong and Johnny exchange looks as they smirk. Haechan on the other hand turns his head as he begins to blush. “Lover boy over here talked about you nonstop when we first met him, i was starting to believe you weren’t real until he told us he finally asked you out.” Taeyong’s words came to you as a shock, not believing Haechan had talked about you to anyone before. “Believe me, he’s definitely down bad for you. You got a good one, Haechan.”
“I know.” He replies with a wide smile as you turn to face him, you’re definitely going to question him on this later. “We’re gonna go get a drink, I’ll catch up with y’all later.” His hand leaves your hip, immediately intertwining his fingers with yours as he gives both boys a hug. You wave them goodbye before Haechan leads you two into the kitchen. “Want anything?” He asks, looking over the table with a variety of alcoholic drinks. “I’ll take some water, I’m not sure if I wanna drink tonight.” He simply nods, respecting your choice as he himself grabs a beer. Just as you’re about to leave, you and haechan turn to see a girl walking in with her arm wrapped around the guy she was with.
“Haechanie, I didn’t know you were coming!”
Judging by how tense Haechan felt beside you, you can only assume that this was his ex, Bomi. “Uh, yeah, I didn’t think you’d be here either.” His tone was flat, but his face was mixed with pain and uninterest. “Yeah, I came with Kai, Kai this is Haechan.” Her smile was fake, even you could see that and the guy she was holding onto gave one similar as he replied with a hey. “Oh I’m sorry, I didn’t notice you there, and who are you?” Her eyes looked soft, but if you looked any closer you could see the burning flame behind that glossy coat. Her lips were turned upward into a smile, but you knew she was lying between her teeth to make you seem less important, to make you feel less important.
“I’m y/n, Haechan’s girlfriend.” You said, squeezing his hand in yours. Haechan came back to his senses, looking over at you with a fond smile. You could feel his gaze on you, but you wanted to mess with his ex a little more. “Who are you? I don’t think I caught your name.” Bomi laughed, a little too loud as she threw her head back a bit. “I’m Bomi, Haechanie’s ex.”
“Oh really, never heard of you.” Your lips purse up a little as you look over at Haechan, his eyes softening when yours lock with his. You honestly could get lost in them if you didn’t realize the amount of people who were staring at you right now. Your attention turns back to Bomi and her new arm candy, her cheerful expression now long gone. “Sorry, we were just stopping for a drink, but it was nice to meet you.” And with that, you guide Haechan from the kitchen and maneuver your way around with him in hand till you reach the stairs. Haechan had silently been following you, thoughts swimming around in his head. “You know a room we can go to that’s clean?”
“Moving pretty fast now aren’t we y/n.”
“Oh shut up, just get us somewhere quiet.”
Haechan smirks as he leads the two of you upstairs, going down a hallway till he stopped at a room and pulled his eyes from his pocket. With his free hand, he unlocks the door and walks inside with your hand still in his. “I lock it when I’m out so that no one can do anything unholy to my bed.” His words register in your brain, but you’re too distracted as you look around in the room. There were vinyls plastered onto the walls, wireless headphones sitting carefully on the side table next to his bed. Haechan drops his hand from yours, furrowing his brows at the lack of warmth that reaches his fingertips while opting to sit on the bean bag across from his bed. You sit down on his bed, noticing he too was already sitting.
Patting your thighs, you take a deep breath in to collect your thoughts from all that’s happened since you two got in while Haechan looks deep in his own head. “So, she’s something.” He laughs softly, fiddling with his fingers as he stares into his lap. “Yeah, she is.”
“And you talk about me?”
Leaning back into the bean bag, he looks at you through hooded eyes. “I did when I first got accepted in, they went around asking personal questions as a bonding experience and you were all I really knew so you naturally came to mind.” You’re fighting the frown as you think about how long you two have hated each other, almost forgetting why you two grew apart for so long. “You okay, after seeing her and all?” With his lips pressed together, he simply nods as he closes his eyes. “I’ll have to be, I mean she looked pretty pissed to see you with me, so that’s a step right?”
“Yeah, I guess.” It felt very awkward to be having such a deep conversation with him, but somehow it also felt right. Your silence is interrupted when your phone starts buzzing, pulling it from your pocket and bringing it to your ear to answer it. “Hello?”
“Hey, we’re here, where are you guys?” Yeongmin called you, you assumed from downstairs as you can hear the faint music through one ear and the louder music through the phone in the other. You mouth to haechan that they were downstairs and ended the call telling her you were on your way. The two of you interlock your hands before going back downstairs, looking for the girls within the crowd. From the staircase, you can barely see them on the dance floor and you signal to haechan to follow you. As you make your way through the sea of bodies against bodies, you see your friends laughing and holding hands as they dance together.
“This is so much fun!” Wonchae smiled at you as she and Yechae held each other close. “If you have any more parties, invite us again!” Yeongmin and Sin-ra smiled at you and haechan, giggling to each other as their favorite song was blasting from the speakers. Haechan drops his hand, turning you around with his hands on your hips. He leans in as he pulls you against him, his lips brushing the shell of your ear. “Wanna dance?” There’s a faint blush on your cheeks as you simply nod, hesitantly wrapping your arms around his neck. The two of you fall into a rhythm and sway with each other for what feels like hours. After dancing for so long, you’re starting to feel the effects of the night and tell Haechan you’re ready to go home.
You lost the girls way earlier before you decided to leave, sending them a text to tell you when they make it in. Haechan leads you outside, the wind blowing slightly as you two step out of the party. You shiver slightly, rubbing your arms as you walk over to his car. Haechan notices the goosebumps on your skin, immediately taking his jacket off and throwing it over your shoulders. “You’re gonna catch a cold, take it back.” As you’re protesting, he simply shakes his head. “I’m alright for now, just keep it on so you won’t catch a cold.” The warmth of the leather silences you, walking around the front of his car and resting against the top as he stands in front of you.
“Did you at least have fun?”
“For my first college party, yeah I had fun.”
Haechan gasps as you look at him confused. “This was your first party?” You simply nod, chewing on your bottom lip before laughing softly. “As you can tell from my friends, we don’t get out much and the only other person i talk to is Mark.” Haechan steps closer to you, losing in the distance as he tilts your head towards him with his finger. “Let me at least make it memorable.” Your face is bright red as he leans in, pressing his lips against yours. You stay still, afraid that if you move, he’ll move and you hate to admit to yourself that you don’t want to move. His lips were soft against yours as he tilted his head to deepen the kiss. Your hands reach out for him, gripping the fabric of his shirt while his hand moves from your chin to cup the side of your cheek.
Haechan was the first to break contact, pulling back as he looked down at you. “How was that for a first college party?” You shake your head, letting go of his shirt to give him a slight shove. “Take me home, idiot.” He laughs as you stand from the hood of his car and the two of you get in, driving around to your hall before you go your separate ways.
Tumblr media
The next few weeks go by smoothly, you and haechan seem to be fooling everyone with your physical touch and playful banter when you’re out together. He sits with you when you two go to the cafeteria, eating meals together during your breaks between classes. He’ll meet you at the neo cafe and order your drink for you before you arrive and if you’re tutoring Jaemin, he’ll bring you your drink and sit with you till you’re done. He’s made it a habit to bring you to Taco Bell after your tutoring sessions are over and you two even spend time in the library working on your project, but haechan doesn’t get much work done before he’s bugging you for attention. After all these years, you almost forgot how touchy he is, always grabbing your hand or resting his head on your shoulder and vice versa. The two of you have everyone fooled, even Mark.
“I still can’t wrap my head around you and haechan, I mean one day you were seconds away from ripping his throat out and now you’re giggling at his texts.”
You sheepishly smile as the two of you walk back to his dorm, holding your bag in your hand as you think how much has changed between you and Haechan. Even when you’re alone, he acts no different. He still grabs your hand, plays with your hair, complements you every morning and smiles at you as if every day was the first day you saw each other. You’d be lying if you said you didn’t feel any different towards him, but you always push those feelings down and remember how you got here. He wants her back, he doesn’t want you, and every time you think of them two wrapped up in each other's arms like how he does with you, it hurts a little more than it should.
“I guess people change, I mean we were friends for a while when we were kids, that played into it too.” You were being truthful, reminiscing on the crush you had on Haechan growing up. Never in a million years would you have told him that, but in a way you also never were given the chance to. Now, here you are with those same harbored feelings and still don’t have a clue with what to do with them. After this is all over, he’ll leave your life once again and you’ll be left to fill the void that no one has ever come close to when it comes to him. “Yeah, I’m just saying, it’s a little weird to me, but I’m happy that you’re happy.” You give Mark a playful shove as you two walk inside his hall and go up to his room. You and Mark haven’t had much time together since you and Haechan started ‘dating’ and today was one of the days you two planned on studying in silence till you both grew bored and ended up listening to music.
“What’s on the agenda today? I got a psych essay to get out of the way.”
“I have some more lab work to go over, but I’m essay free.”
Mark opens his door for you and follows behind as you set your bag down beside his desk. The two of you go about doing your work as your phone starts to buzz on the desktop. Picking it up, you see you have missed texts from Haechan and a few missed calls. Just as you’re about to call him back, his name pops across your screen. Swiping across your phone, you bring it to your ear. “Hey, I’m so sorry my phone was on silent and I just now—“
“Where are you? I’ve been waiting for you by your last class for hours.”
Judging by his tone, he seems annoyed. You felt guilty, forgetting to text him before you met up with Mark to let him know of your plans. “I’m so sorry, Mark and I met up and were studying in his room.” Haechan scoffs, rolling his eyes if you could see him. “I’m on my way, meet me in the car.” With that, he hung up as you let out a sigh. “Who was that?” You’re packing up your bags as you look over at the window. It’s raining outside and it doesn’t look like it’ll be letting up anytime soon. “Haechan, he called and wanted me to meet him outside, i kinda forgot to tell him I was coming with you and he’s kinda upset.” Mark gave you an apologetic smile to which you returned. “Be careful out there and don’t worry, I doubt he’s that mad, okay?”
You simply nod and bid him a goodbye before leaving his room and heading downstairs. When you go out the front doors, Haechan is already parked out front and you hold your bag to your chest to protect it from getting soaked as you run down to his car and quickly get inside. Haechan was gripping the wheel as he stared down at his lap, not looking your way once as you shut the door as you got in and placed your bag between your legs rather than in the back seat. “You okay hyuck?”
Haechan was quiet, you knew he was upset, but you’re starting to think there were underlying reasons as to why. “Why didn’t you tell me you were with Mark.” You bite your lip, furrowing your brows as you reach over to touch him. “I said i was sorry, it completely slipped my mind and I didn’t mean to not tell you, he just asked me if we could hang out since we haven’t recently.”
“How hard is it to send a simple text, y/n?” He definitely was pissed, his knuckles turning an off shade of white with how tight he was gripping the wheel. “Why are you so mad, you know Mark, it wasn’t like I was out with someone random?”
“I’m pissed because I had someone come up to me asking why my girlfriend was walking off giggling with some guy, you ever think of that?”
He’s unbelievable, he’s literally unbelievable. The nagging feeling that this whole situation wasn’t going to end well resurfaces without hesitation, leaving you with a sense of deja vu. “Fake girlfriend, did you forget that?” Haechan laughs, not a genuine laugh, but a laugh that almost felt forced. “You’re right, how could I forget, I mean you’ve done it before so I’m not surprised you’re doing it again.”
“Doing what exactly, donghyuck.”
“Stealing Mark away, taking all of his precious time and acting as if I don’t exist.” His words hit you hard, bringing you back to the day you two first parted ways. When Haechan first introduced you and Mark, there was no doubt in his mind that you two would get along and he was looking forward to spending his days with both of his closest friends, but even at such a young age, jealousy got the best of him. Upon meeting, you and Mark clicked as if you were meant to be friends, talking and laughing together while Haechan stood silently and felt lonely. He didn’t like how quickly you got along with Mark, he didn’t like how much he hated bringing you two together, he especially didn’t like how much resentment he felt towards you even if he didn’t know what he was feeling.
He told you he hated you that day, out of anger and hurt. Not once did he mean it, in fact there were so many times he had wished he never said it and turned the clocks back to keep him from hurting you so badly. The damage had already been done, tears falling down your young cheeks when he told you he had never wanted to be your friend again. You were confused, hurt and overall overwhelmed with the events that happened that day, but you turned your sadness into the same hatred he said he had for you and from then, the two of you never had a nice thing to say about one another. Now here you were, sitting in his car with the hopes of you two finally making progress gone.
“I don’t steal his time, he gives it to me, but you wouldn’t know that because you force people to be around you.” You didn’t mean it, you didn’t even want to say it, but haechan was prideful and used his words to hurt others when he was hurting and you weren’t going to let him win again. “Did you forget that I’m your first actual boyfriend and I’m not even dating you, it’s kind of pathetic you had to get a fake boyfriend to even know what it’s like to have one.” You didn’t realize when you started crying or why you were crying in the first place. Maybe it was because you were angry, angry that he was angry at you over something so little and so stupid. Maybe it was because he hurt you and continues to hurt you over and over and the lines between what was real and what was fake have been blurred.
“Fuck you haechan, I mean honestly, I thought maybe you’d change, maybe the boy i knew then was still there.” He still wasn’t looking at you, he couldn’t bring himself to meet your eyes and see the damage he’s done. “Maybe you didn’t know me at all.” He knew it before you said it, that everything the two of you had been building up to for nearly a month was all over. He didn’t want to believe till you said it, but deep down he knew. “Fuck this, fuck your stupid little plan to get your shitty ex back and fuck you.”
With that, you grabbed your bag and got out of his car, leaving Haechan with his thoughts and the tears that slid down his cheeks as he watched you walk away. Part of you wanted to go back inside to Mark’s room, but that would mean you’d have to explain everything and that was all too much for you to unpack right now. Instead, you walked back to your hall, soaking from head to toe by the time you made it to your room. Wonchae was sitting in her bed when you came in, immediately questioning you why you were soaking wet, but when she realized you were crying, she took you into her arms and held you till you settled down.
That night all the girls came over and stayed with you till you cried yourself to sleep. You had come clean to them all, telling them about the pretend dating to help him get his ex back all the way to your childhood with Haechan and even the fallout of your friendship. You even told them about the feelings you were harboring, sobbing through your broken words. They tried to reassure you, telling you that they believed there was something real between you and Haechan, but you couldn’t bring yourself to believe them, not after what you just went through with him. Thankfully for you, it was a weekend and you didn’t have classes till the following Monday and that meant you didn’t have to try and avoid him as much as possible.
By the beginning of the week, you do your best to dodge him in any way. You stopped going to the Neo cafe for the first week, Sin-ra taking the initiative to bring you your drink every morning before your first class. In the class you shared with him, at first you’d sit in the very back to avoid being near him and people quickly took notice. It wasn’t long before whispers started going around that you two had broken up and Mark was a part of some of the rumors. When he got wind of everything, you told him the same thing you told your friends and he apologized to you for everything. After so many years, he finally knew why you and Haechan stopped being friends and he felt responsible for that, but you reassured him that there was nothing he could’ve done then or now.
It was nearing your last week for your project and you’re sitting in your shared class with Haechan who was nowhere to be seen. As you’re leaving when the professor tells everyone class was dismissed, your professor stops you and asks you to stay behind. “I wanted you to know that Donghyuck already submitted his portion of the project, so I’ll only need the remaining 25% from you.” You’re confused and it’s evident on your face as you grip the bag over your shoulder. “I’m sorry, but we agreed to split it down the middle, what did he submit already?”
“Are you sure? He emailed me this morning and submitted the essay portion and said you’d do the final draft on the slide presentation. Get with him and let me know before the deadline.” You simply nod and bid him a farewell as you leave your last class for the day. There are so many thoughts in your head as you pull your phone from your pocket and just as you’re about to text Haechan, you bump into someone on your way out. “Oh I’m so sorry.”
“Oh, I’m so—y/n?”
When you look up from your phone, you see Johnny standing in front of you. He was a little taken aback to see you, but still happy that he ran into you. “Oh hey, what’s up?” The two of you make small talk as you stand outside the building, chatting about the little things in life. “Oh before I forget, you’re coming to the party tonight right?” You’re unsure what to tell him, your silence leaving open room to answer. “It’s okay if you can’t make it, Haechan said you two were working on a big project so I get why you haven’t been around, but if you come tonight we’d be happy to have you.” Hearing Haechan’s name felt almost foreign, having neither your friends or Mark even uttering his name over these last few weeks. “I’ll see if i can make it.” Johnny gives you a genuine smile before heading off and you two go your own ways. When you make it back to your hall, Wonchae and Yechae are sitting on Wonchae’s bed as they watch a movie on her laptop.
“Wanna watch the movie with us, I can put it on the tv?” You smile at Yechae’s offer, but simply shake your head. “I’m gonna go to sleep instead, thank you though.” You slip underneath your blanket and lay in bed till your eyes get too heavy to keep open anymore. You’re not sure what time it was when your phone starts going off, waking you from your peaceful sleep. Your fumble as you sit up in bed, grabbing your phone from your side table. Through tired eyes, you see an unknown number calling you and hesitantly, you slide across your phone to answer. “Hello?”
“Y/n, we need you here! Haechan is whining for you.” You recognize Johnny’s voice, the mention of Haechan’s name sending a rush of adrenaline through your body. “Where is he?” You try to be as quiet as you can, looking over at Wonchae and Yechae cuddling silently in her bed. “He’s upstairs, I kind of lost him when I was busy cleaning up his puke, but I managed to snatch his phone before he disappeared to call you.” With a heavy sigh, you climb out of bed and throw on a sweatshirt before telling Johnny you’re on your way. Without a car, you’d have to walk all the way to the frat house where the party was thrown, but it’d take too long for you to get there so you opt to run instead as you mentally thank yourself for taking track one year in high school.
As you’re reaching the doors to the house, you’re panting and out of breath while dragging yourself inside. Pretty much everyone was gone and the scattered cups on the ground gave you an idea of how the night went. Johnny was crouched down picking things up off the floor when you walked in, looking your way as you tried to catch your breath. “Oh hey y/n, you okay? You look kind of..sweaty.” You shook your head as your hands rested on your hips, taking in slow deep breaths to steady your breathing. “Where is he?” You were here to find Haechan, as much as you wanted to make small talk with Johnny, you were too tired to even try. “Check his room, Taeyong should still be up there with him.” Nodding, you drag your feet towards the staircase and tiredly make your way to the top. Going solely off memory, you walk down the hallway till you’re standing in front of Haechan’s room. From inside, you can hear faint crying and Taeyong’s voice.
Pushing the door open gently, you see Haechan sitting on his bed with a cup of water in his hand while Taeyong is sitting beside him. When he noticed your entrance, Taeyong stood up from the bed and silently walked towards you. He placed his hand gently on your shoulder before walking out of the room and shutting the door behind him. You stood in the middle of the room, staring at the boy who was silently sniffling as he stared down at his cup in his hand. “Do you have your keys, I can bring you to your room if you do.” He simply shook his head, gripping the cup in his hand. A sigh left your lips as you turned to his closet, rummaging through his clothes. “W-what are you doing?” You pull a shirt off a hanger, walking over to him. “You can’t sleep in that, it has liquids on it.” Haechan stays still, as if he was frozen in time. His body shook slightly every time he hiccuped, but he didn’t bother moving.
“Get changed please, I’ll leave so you can—“
“Please don’t leave me.”
You’re biting your bottom lip as you see his head rise, meeting his swollen and teary eyes. “Just for tonight, I just need you tonight.” He looked so sad, tears dried on his cheeks as he fought back the tears. You should’ve left, hell you shouldn’t have even come, but you needed to make sure he was okay and from the looks of it, he was far from it. “I’ll turn around, but you need to get out of your clothes and into something to sleep in.” Silently, he stands from his bed and sets the cup on his desktop. You handed him the shirt you grabbed from his closet, walking towards the door and facing away so that he could get dressed. After a few minutes pass, Haechan tells you he’s done and you turn around to him laying in his bed on one side, leaving space for you on the other.
Walking over after turning off the light, you pull back the blanket and slide into the space he’s left you. The two of you lay in silence, the moonlight shining through the cracks of his window cover. “I’m sorry.” Haechan’s voice was barely over a whisper, but neither of you could bring it to look at each other. “You’re drunk, you don’t even know what you’re apologizing for.” You could feel how tense he was beside you, if you reached out to him you were afraid he’d fall apart. “I’m sober enough to know what I'm saying and I need you to believe me on that.” You shift onto your side, tucking your underneath his pillow as your eyes fall to the side of his face. He can feel your gaze on him, waiting for him to continue. “I didn’t mean anything I said that day, even back when we were kids.
“I was jealous of your friendship with Mark, in a way I still am because he’s been by your side this whole time and because of my insecurities, I missed all of that.” You knew he had a hard time believing in people after he had been let down many times before, you understood where he was coming from, but that doesn’t justify his actions. “I’m sorry you had to come out here at this hour, I don’t remember much of what I said to the boys, but it was enough for them to call you and for that, i'm sorry for wasting your time.”
The light coming from his window was just enough for you to see the tear that slid from his eye down the side of his face. “Was she here tonight?” You knew it was none of your business, you had no right to be asking him this, but part of you needed to know. “Yeah.”
“Did you guys get back together, I mean that was the whole point of this right?”
Haechan turns on his side to face you, tucking his arm underneath his head to prop himself up to your eye level. “She tried, but I told her it was over when she left me for that guy.” You’re a bit taken aback, why did he turn her down? What was the point of all of this if it was not for him to win her back. “Why, didn’t you want her back?” Haechan’s eyes locked with yours, searching them for something to give him the confidence to go on. He could see it in your eyes, but for so long he had been too scared to ruin what you two were building. “Spending this time with you blurred everything around me y/n, she was what I thought I wanted, but it wasn’t till I lost you that I knew what I needed instead.”
You felt speechless, staring at him with parted lips. He had just confessed that you were what he wanted and that alone made your head feel dizzy. Now lies the difficult decision, to lie and pretend you don’t feel anything to protect yourself or run to him and trust that he’ll protect you instead and all the love you have in your heart for him. “Say something please.” Hesitantly, you bring a hand up to his face, brushing his hair back to get the best view of him as possible. “Looks like we have a problem.”
“And that is?”
“I broke one of the two rules we made, well technically I broke them both but the first rule was broken after you were an asshole.” Haechan sat up, propping himself on his elbow as he stared down at you. “Does that mean I can kiss you?” A smile spreads across his lips as he watches the light reflect in your eyes. You give him a nod, all the confirmation he needed to lean down and capture your lips within his. The kiss felt familiar, like he had done this a million times before. Your arm wraps around his neck, pulling him close to you as you tilted your head to deepen the kiss. The two of you healed a part of you that was long overdue, the two best friends within you now reunited. Now that you’re older, you not only have your best friend back, but the young boy you loved is too there beside you.

BE MINE + ONE PIECE MEN
request: them asking the reader to be their partner + luffy, zoro, sanji & law
info: gn!reader, i forgor how i characterize them so bear with me, also this is me trying to crawl back to one piece so im sorry if its rlly bad; not proofread!!! (i should start asking ppl to beta read those istg)
Tumblr media
monkey d.luffy didn't really straight up asked you to be his partner. luffy being luffy, he walked up to you one day and said that you were his partner. you, having feelings for the captain for a really long time now, chuckled nervously, asking "what do you mean?". as he explained that nami told him that if he liked you, then he should ask you out, you could hear the red head sighing from somewhere—you knew at least half of the crew was watching you two right now. you laughed softly at the proud smile he wore and nodded, agreeing to be his.
roronoa zoro was almost the same as luffy, but at least he had the decency to actually ask you about it. during a beautiful day, you were on one side of the little garden that was built in the thousand sunny's deck, helping robin to water the plants. out of nowhere, a shadow was cast upon your crouching form; looking up, you noticed the green haired swordsman and smiled at him, getting up. "yes, zor—"
cutting you off, he asked in the same stoic tone he almost always had: "do you want to be my partner?". your eyes went wide and you let out a small exclamation of surprise. taking that as a denial, he turned back and started to walk away, but you managed to yell out his name. "yes! i will be your partner." the man huffed and nodded, but you could see a slight blush dusting his cheekbones.
when the subject is romance and love, you always expect sanji to be a master at it. out of everyone, he should be the one knowing how to ask someone to be his significant other, but he has never felt this... strongly about someone like he feels about you. when he approaches you to ask that, he's holding a little box with your favorite dessert, his long slender fingers shaking a little as words seemed to catch on his throat for the first time in front of someone he loves. he took a deep breath, a bead of sweat dripping down the back of his neck, you touching his arm and asking 'is everything okay, sanji?' with your sweet voice sent him over the edge. "do you want to date me?", his words were clear for him, but for you, he simply spat all of them out at the same time. you told him to breathe and say it again, and he did, his eyes looking at the floor with the shame of the rejection that would surely come his way. your head almost bumped on his as you jumped on his arms, screaming a yes and giggling loudly. he hugged you and spun you around, giggles of his own leaving his pink lips.
trafalgar d.water law didn't want to acknowledge his feelings for you. you were one of his closest friends, one of the few people he trusted the most—you knew things about him that he never told another soul; so he was afraid of losing you. terrified even. he had lost enough people that he loved during his life and he couldn't bear to lose another one. but... his other friends knew a little too much about his "silly" feelings.
"c'mon man, go ask them out." law saw himself being cornered by penguin, sachi and bepo one day, all of them with playful expressions. "the worst you can get is a punch."
he tried to ignore them, ignore how his cheeks seemed to be heating up, but they were being so obnoxious and annoying, he couldn't handle them anymore. with a burst of rage, he yelled at them, "can you shut up? i don't like them and they don't like me, either!"
"like who?" your voice made his heart leave his body and he felt like stabbing the three men—and bear—that were running away now. "no one." law replied, scoffing to himself for the slip up. "torao! tell me! come on!" now you were the one bugging him and he rubbed his face with his hand. you poked his cheek, giving him a little pout. "law, please!"
"it's you." he snapped, making you freeze. "it's you, dumbass." surprising the man, you started to giggle, making him go from annoyed to even more embarassed. "what?" you kissed his lips softly and started to walk away, saying that you accepted to be his partner.

Tumblr media
“Since when do you investigate recently paroled convicts?” you ask, looking out over Metropolis. “This seems like more of Clark’s thing. Literally, journalist Clark could do this far easier.”
Bruce sighs, and you smile. You can exhaust him from miles away.
“Because he started in Gotham, and I want to make sure he doesn’t come back,” Bruce answers.
“And I’m still in sunny Superman-city, why? Our boy bought a plane ticket three hours ago.”
“Until he goes to the airport, I want your eyes on him.”
“And then what? He disappears, free to con people who don’t have a Batman?”
“You do it on purpose,” Bruce accuses. “If you’re done asking questions, I’ve got news.”
“Also Clark’s thing,” you quip.
“Never mind. You can stay in Metropolis.”
“You love me, Bats. I’ll stop; tell me.”
“Against our better judgment, we all do.”
You smile, remembering the first night you put on a mask and took to the streets of Gotham. One of your best friends had been permanently altered by Scarecrow toxin, and you were done being scared in your own home. The same week, before you really grasped just how dangerous what you were doing could be, you ran into Robin. Batman wasn’t with him, but you soon met him, too. Robin was your age, reckless, and had a heart-stopping smile, so when he asked you to stay with him, you agreed. Batman reluctantly agreed, likely more interested in getting you off the streets than anything. After a few months, Dick trusted you enough to remove his domino mask, and Bruce sighed as he followed suit. Your relationship with Dick, both in and out of the Robin suit, made you part of two families: The Waynes and the Bats and Birds of Gotham. Every new addition to the family and the team pushed you and Dick closer, and you know what your feelings toward him are, but you have to remind yourself daily that losing him isn’t worth getting it off your chest.
“Still there?” Batman asks.
“Sorry, yeah, I’m here,” you answer quickly, standing as you watch the sun go down.
“There’s going to be a slight detour on your way back.”
“Just tell me it’s somewhere warmer than Gotham,” you joke.
“Much. Nightwing – Dick – will meet you at the airport.”
You want to laugh at the strain in his voice as he says Dick’s name, but your attention catches on another word.
“Airport?”
✯✯✯✯✯
“Welcome to paradise, babe,” Dick greets, pulling you into a warm hug as you walk through the airport doors.
“Thanks,” you murmur, closing your eyes and letting him envelop you completely.
He keeps an arm over your shoulders, leading you to an expensive rental car. After tossing your small bag in the back, he holds your hand over the console, looking into your eyes and smiling.
“I have a question,” he begins. You nod, and Dick’s smile grows. “Will you marry me?”
Your eyes widen as you tell yourself that it’s for the mission.
“A thousand times yes,” you answer, watching Dick slide the ring onto your left ring finger.
“I was hoping you’d say that.”
Your hand remains in Dick’s as he begins driving, your dream life with him coming to life around you.
“I checked in when I got here this morning. The honeymoon suite is nice,” Dick says distractedly.
“Honeymoon suite?” you repeat.
Dick hums, and you lower your gaze from his profile to the ring on your finger. It’s going to be a long few days.
✯✯✯✯✯
“Your suitcase is in the closet,” Dick says, leading you into the small cottage with a hand on your back. He sees your confused look and laughs. “I packed a few things for you, I didn’t think you’d have beachwear with you in Metropolis.”
“Thank you.”
Dick lays back on the bed, propping his head up on his hands as he watches you open the closet.
“There’s a white bikini in there that I’m pretty proud of. I think it’s a better choice than you would have made.”
You roll your eyes before looking at the beachy pastels, sundresses, and swimsuits filling the bag. Dick chose things you have always wanted to wear but never felt good enough to buy for yourself. Losing your focus, you finger through the different fabrics, jumping slightly when Dick’s arms wrap around your waist.
“We have dinner reservations tonight, so pick a good one,” he whispers.
“Looks like they’re all good ones.”
“I have excellent taste,” Dick replies with an absent-minded tap to your wedding ring.
✯✯✯✯✯
“Good evening,” Dick greets the couple sharing a table with you. He pulls your seat out, keeping his hand in yours as he sits beside you.
“My, you two are just the most handsome couple I’ve ever seen,” the woman exclaims, leaning toward you. “You picked a fine one, didn’t you, dear?”
You glance over at Dick and smile. “I sure did.”
Dick’s thumb runs over your knuckles, and you let yourself go in the act. Losing yourself, you adopt this character of being a wife to the man you’ve loved for years.
As you eat and talk to the other couples celebrating engagements, weddings, and anniversaries, you lean against Dick’s side, playing with his fingers. After one particularly romantic comment about your eyes, you raise Dick’s hand to your lips, kissing the knuckle below his ring. He turns toward you with a big smile, pecking your forehead before pulling you closer. You could get used to this, which is incompatible with an undercover mission.
✯✯✯✯✯
The proximity is killing you. Dick is so close that you could touch him, and you do, but you try to show some restraint. You set boundaries long ago, including one stating that you would never kiss one another purely for Batman’s never-ending mission. Your firm position on that boundary wavers more with each moment. This island is doing something to you, and you’re terrified that it will ruin your relationship with Dick.
Every time Dick smiles at you or takes your hand, running his finger over the fake ring on your hand, it’s like a glimpse straight out of your dream life. Right now, reclined on the beach in a bikini of Dick’s choosing, though, the dream falls apart.
“Dick,” you whisper, tapping your shoulder against his chest.
He pulls his hand away from your hair, a flower you didn’t see him pick braided into a small section of your hair.
“There’s our guy,” you mumble after he hums, pointing with your chin.
“He coming toward us?” Dick asks, running a sandy hand over your arm.
“Not right now. If he’s looking for the same kind of victim as in Gotham, we’re going to have to set a trap.”
“How?”
You turn toward him, frowning as you answer, “Get in a fight and let me storm off.”
Dick’s eyes drop away from yours before nodding. “Not yet,” he mumbles. “It has to look real.”
“Dinner?” you ask, brushing his hair back.
His eyes flutter closed as he nods, aware that the social setting will make enough of a scene. That doesn’t mean Dick wants to do it, though, nor is he sure about using you as bait.
✯✯✯✯✯
“Do I look okay? This fits weird,” you complain, tugging the white sundress down on the sides.
Dick appears behind you, holding your wrists still as he meets your eyes in the mirror. He pulls your back to his chest, looping his arms over your waist.
“You look beautiful – you are beautiful,” Dick whispers. “So beautiful that I don’t know if I can yell at you.”
“We can change the plan. Pretend like we’ve been arguing all afternoon in private, and I can just choose a moment to storm off,” you offer.
“I don’t want to fight with you at all,” Dick amends.
“Hey.” You turn in his arms, looping yours over his shoulders. “This isn’t real, okay? I will never treat you like this.”
Dick nods, dropping his head to press his forehead against yours.
“Promise?”
You nod, dragging a finger along Dick’s jaw. “I promise.”
✯✯✯✯✯
“Yeah,” you mumble, fiddling with the napkin in your lap. “I got it earlier.”
Dick made a passing comment about working with others, glancing toward you at the end, and you took the opportunity to start a fight. The target, Bruce’s con man, is several tables away, but his eyes are on you. Dick’s eyes drop, and you desperately want to cup his chin and apologize.
“Working with women can be hard though,” someone says, continuing the conversation.
“It certainly can,” Dick agrees.
You stand up, silently tossing your napkin onto the table before you walk out. Navigating through the crowded tables, you take a deep breath when you exit and hear footsteps behind you.
“’Scuse me?” he asks.
You slow before you stop, turning toward him and wiping an imaginary tear.
“I’m sorry, I overheard and just wanted to make sure you’re okay. I’m a marriage counselor and I wouldn’t feel right about leaving you here upset.”
“I’m fine, or I will be,” you answer, slightly impressed with how easily he slipped into the lie. “It’s just frustrating to be married, and I wasn’t expecting it to be so different.”
“Marriage counseling is a great option even for newly-weds. I actually have a pay by the appointment service here on the island, if you’re interested.”
“Oh, really? That- actually, yeah, that sounds amazing. What do I need to do?”
“$1,000 cash, up front, and then you can come by anytime.”
“Soliciting for a false business is illegal,” a resort security guard says as he approaches. “I’m going to need to take you to the office for questioning.”
“Really, me? Because her husband looks a lot like the Wayne kid from Gotham, not Gray Todd or whatever he said his name was,” the conman argues. “What about impersonation?”
Dick walks outside just as the security guard looks toward you.
“What’s going on out here?” Dick asks, laying his hand against the small of your back. “Are you okay?” he adds quietly.
You nod and press back against him gently. “This guy was trying to steal our money, apparently.”
“Someone called in a tip that he’s been posing as a marriage counselor,” the security guard fills in. “Though, do you folks have ID?”
Dick removes his fake ID from his wallet, and you’re surprised when he hands one over for you too.
“Your last names aren’t the same, are these up to date?”
“I haven’t gotten my updated license yet,” you answer. “We haven’t been married long.”
“Ask them questions separately and they won’t be able to answer. They’re the con artists, not me!” the conman cries.
“Maybe I should take you two in for questioning too.”
“On what grounds?” Dick asks with an incredulous chuckle. “What would I need to do to convince you we’re married? This is ridiculous!”
You glance over, and a crowd is gathering at the door, so you tap Dick’s side to alert him. He takes a deep breath before speaking again.
“I’d like to speak to your manager in the morning, but for now, are we free to go?”
The security guard also sees the crowd and hesitates before nodding. Dick leads you away and back toward the cottage but pulls you to a stop at the bottom of the stairs.
“Are you okay?” you ask, looking over his face.
“People are still watching us and we need to keep this up or they won’t believe us,” Dick whispers.
“We’re leaving tomorrow. Does it matter?”
“If they think we’re not really married, they can’t prove anything about our guy. Then we just look like we lied to get a nicer cottage.”
You nod and ask, “So what do we do to prove it?”
Your arms are around Dick, you’re as close as physically possible, so you’re not sure what else you can do to look like you’re in love. Especially considering you are in love with him.
“I’m sorry,” he whispers before raising his hand to the back of your neck and kissing you.
He picks you up, a strong arm under your hips as he carries you up the stairs. You grip his shirt at the collar, returning the kiss but refusing to deepen it. As Dick unlocks the door, you drop your head to his shoulder and glance at the dissipating crowd, only a few people left who don’t mind imposing on a private moment.
Once you’re inside and Dick sets you down, he steps back.
“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry, I know it was the one rule, but I didn’t know what else to do,” he rambles, carding his fingers through his hair. “Sorry.”
You hold a hand up to stop his pacing and shrug. “We had to. It’s fine.”
Dick nods, another whispered apology rolling off his tongue before he offers to let you use the bathroom first. When he steps back, that proximity you thought would break you is taken away, and you realize that is was holding you together all along.
✯✯✯✯✯
When you walk out of the bathroom, Dick is staring out the window. The dark beach holds his attention until he stands wordlessly. Then, when Dick returns from the shower, he doesn’t speak to you. Opening your mouth, you want to ask him something, say anything, but he sits at the far side of the king-sized bed and makes himself comfortable with his back to you.
The last few nights, you started on opposite sides of the bed but woke up with Dick’s arm over your waist and both of you in the middle. Those moments are being ripped away from you, though, and you’re not sure why. If it’s the kiss, you told him it was fine. Dick is usually the one ready and willing to talk about this kind of stuff, but he is shutting you out.
Hating the distance and craving his closeness, you whisper, “Are you mad at me?”
The answer is barely audible, a sigh of, “Of course not.”
You breathe a small sigh of relief, moving your hand to the middle of the bed like an olive branch. “Then what happened? I’m really not mad about the kiss, Dick.”
Dick rolls over, his eyes bright in the minimal light of the cottage as he takes your hand (again). “I don’t want this to end,” he confesses.
After contemplating what this could mean, you whisper, “It doesn’t have to.”
Dick sits up, pulling you in, slow and methodical as he kisses you this time. As he pulls you into his lap, you enjoy knowing that there’s no rush or fear or lies behind this, just you, Dick, and the love between you.
“Maybe we should get married,” he mumbles against your lips. “Bruce will pay for a few more days.”
You pull back with a breathless laugh. “And listen to your brothers after they find out you eloped? No thanks.”
“So, you won’t marry me?” Dick asks, looking up at you perched on his legs.
“I’ll marry you as many times as you want, Dick Grayson.”
“Different honeymoon suite each time?” Dick jokes.
You duck your head against his chest as he laughs, gladly letting him hold you close for one more quiet, slow night before you return to Gotham.
“We need to pack, our flight is at 10,” you remind him.
“Don’t forget the white one,” he says against your cheek, leaving kisses along your face.
You are returning to Gotham with something far better than a new bikini or souvenir: Dick Grayson’s love running through your veins and your heart safely in his hold.
✯✯✯✯✯
✯✯✯✯✯
Bonus:
"It worked, Alfred."
"Excellent news, Master Bruce. Perhaps you could be the next to go on a trip and come back with a woman in your life."

Tumblr media
featuring: monkey d. luffy, trafalgar law and eustass kid
summary: you leave them and go your separate ways, including leaving the crew. after two years they come across you and you’ve joined a new crew…
warnings: angst, spoilers, curse words, corazon mentioned, death threat..
Monkey D. Luffy
Luffy is completely heart broken, how could you…the first person who he’s fallen in love with, just join The Blackbeard Pirates. Yes he knows you guys didn’t end off in good terms but seeing with in this crew made his blood boil. And of course it made Luffy worry for you…
How could you! Join the crew of the man who caused his bother’s death. The man who threw Ace into the arms of death. He hates you….but god damn….he cares about you.
Even the rest of The StrawHats were disappointed. How pity can one person be?
But deep down Luffy still had feelings for you, and he desperately wanted you back into his life, in his arms….back on the Sunny.
“How could you! I trusted you….Y/N…please answer me!” Luffy yelled at you, and you just stood there aloof. You didn’t expect to run into your ex lover here. Thankfully he was alone…
You just sighed and looked away “Look Strawhat…Teach offered me a spot on his crew when I was at my lowest, when you weren’t there for me.” You spat out, Luffy cringes at the name ‘Strawhat.’ It felt more harsher coming from you. “Please Y/N….come back to the Sunny…we miss you..I miss you.” He pleaded, and stepped towards your direction and to which you immediately back away.
“No..” To which broke Luffy even more. “Look you ruined what we had between us with your childish behavior. And I needed a crew who doesn’t mess around.”
“Please don’t go! Please!! He’ll take you away like he did with Ace!” He began to cry out, falling onto his knees. Getting some looks from people around. To which you turn you head and began walking away. Leaving him in a broken state..
“Y/N PLEASE COME BACK! DON’T LEAVE ME!” He yelled out and sobbed out as he watched you leave. To which Zoro came running to his side. “PLEASE…I need you there when I become King of the Pirates..”
Trafalgar Law
Law knew when you guys went your separate ways it wasn’t on good terms, both of you had different opinions on life and he was too busy with his Captain Duties to deal with you. But when he found out that you were apart of the Doflamingo family he was completely heart broken.
He’s told you past stories about this man and how much of a monster he was and the second you guys go your separate ways you decide to join his stupid family.
Law doesn’t know if you’re really that stupid or really that pity. But it hurts…
But watching you in the arms of that man made him go feral. He still cared deeply for you…Doflamingo probably forced you into his arms right…RIGHT?!
Law eyes widen as he watched you walk in the room, he was currently chained up with sea stone making him helpless. He struggled against the cuffs “Y/N…please don’t tell me you’re with him..” He pleaded, his eyes began to gloss over. He was trying to keep his emotions in check. But seeing you with this monster was going to break him.
Law came to Dressrosa with Luffy to put a stop to Doflamingo but he didn’t expect you to be here as well. You watch Law struggle against the chains to which Doflamingo laughed at his attempts. “Poor Law, didn’t expect your little ex toy here?” He mocked.
“Y/N isn’t a toy! Don’t call them that!” He yelled at him, and he looks at you. “Please Y/N…what are you doing with this man…you know what he’s capable of doing…” Law struggled even more, hissing at the pain. He watched you, and what broke his heart even more that you didn’t even speak. Did Doflamingo do something?! This man is capable of killing you and it’s hurting Law.
“Now Y/N be a doll and let’s get going we have important business to attend to.” He said and patted your head to which you smile and nod, walking out of the room leaving both men alone.
Doflamingo smirked as he watched Law. “Reminds me of Corazon.” Making Law tense up, he didn’t say anything he just kept staring. “You know Law…I’ll make sure the day I kill Y/N, I’ll do it front of you.” He smirks out, and stood up. Which left Law speechless. And with that Doflamingo is walking towards the door. “I’ll make sure to send Y/N off to wherever Corazon is..” Levaing him alone in the room.
Law just sat there, tears streaming down his face. This man was planning on killing you. And in front of him. First Cora…and now you. He’s going to take everything he cares about. Law just sat there with his head low, sobbing softly. “Y/N…”
Eustass Kid
Kid was pissed off, how could you! How could go running around with the Red Hair Pirates!! They are the reason why he lost an arm! He was pissed off, he wanted to yell at you.
Yes! Yes Kid knew that when you guys broke up it wasn’t the most nicest words in exchange but he didn’t know you were going to be a pity bitch and join that one armed bastard. Shanks!
Now he looks at you like a backstabbing person and he doesn’t tolerate backstabbers, and he promises the next time he comes across you he’ll make your life a living hell. He’ll beat up Shanks! And right in front of you!
Kid really hates Shanks, what you have a type red hair pirates with one arm. Kid won’t admit it but seeing you with Shanks and his crew he’s heart broken, he can’t believe he shared his feelings with you.
“What the hell! Are you fucking stupid Y/N! How could you join a crew like Shanks!” He yelled at your direction, and you couldn’t help but hide behind Shanks. And this made Kid rage even more. How pathetic could you be?! “You back stabbing bitch…” He growled at your direction.
To which you narrowed your eyes and scoffed. But you decided not to give in, so you turn your head around and look away from Kid’s harsh eyes. And he was stomping his feet on the ground like a child throwing a tantrum. “Look at me! Please! You fucking bitch! Look at me!”
“That’s enough Kid. I don’t appreciate you talking to one of my crew members like that especially towards Y/N.” Shanks replied, to which Kid laughed at his face. “Screw you!”
….
And before you know it, there was a battle between Kid and Shanks, well it was more like Kid being thrown against something and falling. You couldn’t help but look away. Not wanting to see the aftermath…no…
Just covering your ears…and wanting this to end…
Everything soon came to an end with the Victoria Punk into pieces and Eustass Kid thrown into sea…swallowing him into his watery death..
….
Kid….

Lost and Found

You wake in a bed that is not your own. You start, pushing the covers off and practically falling off the bed and scramble towards the door. You pray you don't find it locked.
It swings open with ease, and you run face first into a very concerned Simon, who moves his cup of tea up and out of the way so it doesn't spill anywhere.
"Woah woah, there, what's got yer knickers in a twist?"
"You- I was- I don't know how-" You gesture vaguely back to the bedroom, that was not yours, heart pounding in your chest as you fail to explain what was going on.
Scraggle weaves into your legs, purring as it brushes up against you. Pay attention to it. Please.
"Honey, listen." He says rather bluntly, steeling you into your senses. "Ya fell asleep on the couch last night. Didn't want ya to have a bad back this mornin' so I moved you to my bed, it was closer. Didn't stay in there, tucked you in an' left. Not that kinda guy."
You swallow, looking down to pick up Scraggle, who seems very upset that you have not given it nearly enough attention. Simon's eyes follow your actions, before you look up at him, and meet deep brown irises.
"....what kind of guy are you, then?" You ask softly, toeing the water. You knew next to nothing about him. Other than his name, and he rescued you, like he rescued everything else in his house.
He lowers his tea, and slurps it loudly, accidentally-on-purpose, and you smile.
"Fed the dogs this morning. Breakfast is in the kitchen." He grunts, before turning away. You notice how he doesn't answer your question. You wonder if he doesn't know the answer.
Scraggle yowls. It wants food too. Give it food. Give it.
You make your way down the hall, trying to make sure that you look at least somewhat presentable.
The kitchen smelled nice. You took a little bit of everything, but not too much, still on the fence. You'd take what you can get, but not enough to leave a noticeable mark.
Simon's sitting at the table, typing something into his phone.
You didn't have one of those. Didn't have much use for one, either. If you needed to look something up, which, apparently, is something people do, you use the house computer.
It's the start of a sunny day, warm light bathing the kitchen through the windows above the sink. You sit down across from Simon as you eat quietly. Some bits you leave untouched. Not your favorites.
"Simon." You start softly. "Where did you sleep last night?"
"Couch." He grumbles, but not in a mean way.
"I thought you said-?"
"Yeah, honey, I'm used to it. Slept in worse places." His eyes crinkle like it was some inside joke you didn't understand. But you feel like you've already asked too many questions this morning. If he senses your hesitance, he doesn't pay it any mind.
You stand and leave to wash your dish.
Simon asks if you want to go to the market with him. He shows you your list. Tells you he won't leave your side. You can pick out the sauce, and the seasoning.
You're far enough away. Its been enough time. Its been a few weeks. You can go. You can go out for an hour. Nobody would notice. Nobody would see you.
You trust him, right?
"I have some stuff to do around here.... can we make it quick?"
"'Course. 'Course we can." Simon nods, and for a moment, you feel like he knows more than he lets on. But it slips, and you're back at square one.
You grab your work boots, a dark pair that Simon had gotten you two weeks ago. They've got some mud on them, but around here, it was impossible to find someone with perfectly clean everyday shoes.
It's almost twenty minutes into town. That's reassuring to you, distance enough away from folks you don't know, nor want to concern yourself with. It'll be something you could make a day out of, further down the line.
The car ride is quiet.
"....y'mind if we stop at the bookstore?" Simon grunts out as he pulls into a space outside of the supermarket. "Don't have to, but I was plannin' on..."
"That's fine." Simon clocks the way your eyes light up, and you try to play it off, and there's a fuzzy, warm feeling in his chest watching you. Instead of facing it, he gets out of the car, and opens your door.
You stick real close to his side as you walk into the store, practically calling yourself his shadow. He gets a cart. You pull out your little yellow-pad note of a grocers list. He glances down at it fir a moment, then back up to scan the aisle signs above you.
"Right then. This way."
Luckily, today there were no crowds in the market, and they had everything you needed. You were beginning to feel a little excited, like warmth in the tips of your fingers. You liked cooking, and you liked starting from scratch.
Must be a figurative and a literal thing, huh?
As you walk up to the check out, you push the cart. You pass the last aisle, and stop abruptly. Simon, not paying attention, runs directly into the cart, and then looks down at it like it personally offended him.
"Y'alright, honey?" He asks, his hand ghosting down near your waist, the curve of your back, a strong, secure point. His hand is warm.
You cock your head, and turn the cart down the last aisle.
Then you come back with a bag of marshmellos in the cart. Simon raises an eyebrow, but doesn't judge you for it.
"Wha'ssat for?" He asks, joining you at your side as you push the cart towards the check out, determined.
"I read on the computer that raccoons like marshmellos. We have treats for the cats and the dogs, but with Tres in the family now, I mean, he's just a little guy, and little guys gotta have treats too, sometimes, right?" You ask, looking up at him.
There's a fire in your doe eyes, like no matter if he agreed with you or not, you were taking those goddamn marshmellos to little baby Tres. He smirks, peering down at you, before squeezing the curve of your shoulder assuringly, before putting the bag of marshmellos up on the check out conveyor.
Yeah, the little guys gotta have a treat, too.
You've been a little less skittish, recently. Less Bambi-like, no longer wobbly kneed and hesitant– at least, not terrified to ask anymore. But it was little touches that got you out of it, small things, like the brush of a hand, or knocking his knee to yours, or wiping flour off your cheek.
Simon has his own story, and he knows you have yours. He doesn't expect you to question his, nor would he you, but he's seen the marks. He's seen the way you wince, like a few mornings ago, when you limped into the kitchen and brushed off his concern and braced the day without a complaint. Just grateful to have food in your belly, and a warm roof over your head. It ignites a fire in his chest, one that burns right through his heart and lungs, knowing that someone or something out there did this to you, and you wouldn't tell him who it was. Anger. He'd never been quite good with that. All in due time, he supposes.
He knows you've seen his scars, too. The trees are starting to grow over the house, and the way the branches grow are unstable. He's gotta cut some of them back. It's broiling out, so he shuns his shirt as he works on the roof, careful not to put his foot through a sensitive spot in the roof, or startle the raccoons, and he forgets, because he doesn't have to care when he's home.
You bring him lemonade when you see him come down. Your eyes linger on his bare skin, damp with sweat, and he feels... Like you see him for more than he appears, standing before you. Your eyes catch on each jagged mark, each curved line cut and carved deliberately into the patchwork of his skin. It's strangely sensual, how you both stand in the kitchen with your eyes on one another, simply cataloging the indents of people he once knew, and couldn't care enough to remember, because remembering replaces this. This soft moment, your eyes misted over, hip resting on the cabinet.
Maybe he overlooks the way that you seem to be looking at him for more than he is, and he sees you, too. Your eyes practically glow in the golden light of the afternoon, skin softer now with safety, a net he provided. The creature in his chest purrs at the sight of it, the softness of you in your entirety, knowing that it was his doing, a strange kind of possessiveness there that made him want to sink his teeth in, that would drown a man if kept unchecked.
But he's always been a good swimmer.
The worry in your face is still there, but no longer carved as deep. Your hands intricate, short nails nearly bitten off, lined with your own struggle, your own story, as your fingers grap around the cool glass of lemonade, and he doesn't think he's ever longed to be an inanimate object more. He blinks, scared for a split second that when he opens his eyes, this domesticity would be gone, a faux scenario in his fragmented, wretched mind, and yet, you're still there.
He found you. You haven't gone anywhere.
What's that they say? Finders keepers?
He doesn't plan on letting you go, any time soon. And he's not one to lose, either.
Your lips are soft, pursed as your eyes glance up to meet his, half lidded. Minx. You don't have any idea what you do to him.
You look like you're about to say something-
Scraggle yowls, headbutting Simon in the leg, and the moment breaks.
And you laugh, and he does too. He feels dizzy.
The bookstore is on the corner of the block. He loaded the bags into the car, refusing to let you even lift a finger.
You glared at him. He let you shut the trunk.
A small bell twinkled overhead as you walked into the dusty bookstore. There were a few plants that hung in the front window, the decorated neon sign buzzing.
There were a few tables, along with a coffee maker and a pastry case, one of those glass ones like you see in a bakery. Anywhere you look has at least one plant, and a stack of books. There were quite a few shelves, and you couldn't quite tell what was what. There was a staircase in the back, winding up to a second floor, where there were more shelves, but a sign near the top read 'Music', so you assumed that it would be CDs or something. It was pretty overwhelming, as your eyes adjusted to the soft lighting and the smell of lavender and... something you couldn't quite place a name to.
He watches your eyes dart around, shoulders tense, before you blink slowly, and take a deep breath, before pushing forward.
Pride causes him to smirk, as a woman appears from behind the counter.
She doesn't say anything at first, watching you scan the shelves, and quickly make your way over to the little fantasy section she has. She glances over at Simon, who approaches her but doesn't take his eyes off of you.
"Who's the new thing?" The woman asks, careful to keep her voice low.
Simon huffs, the question rolling off him. "Where's the Scot, Peach?"
"He's-"
"Hey, LT!" Exclaims a very loud man from the top of the staircase. He makes his way down the steps, before clapping Simon on the shoulder.
Your curiousity piques, as you look over a shorter shelf to watch Simon and this mystery fellow interact, hidden away in this little alcove of book stacks. Your hands find purchase flipping through the yellowed pages of an old book, one you remember from a long, long time ago.
They share a few words, nothing you can make out, really, before all three turn and look at you.
You duck, not wanting to be caught dropping any eaves.
"Been through the wringer that one has, havin' ended up wit' ye." Johnny comments, crossing his arms over his chest as you duck.
"Fuck off, Soap." He grumbles, starting to regret this idea. "You want pasta or not?"
"We-" A manicured hand slides over Johnny's mouth, his partner electing to ensure he doesn't screw up dinner plans.
"We'll be there if it's all good with the missus." She says smoothly, recovering as she glances over towards you.
Simon hums, and she sees he still hasn't taken his eyes off you. "Something going on with you, Riley?"
Simon hums again, not fully paying attention.
"Oi, earth to Ghost!" Johnny snaps, before realization dawns on him. "Oh- oh, yer down bad, aren't-"
"MacTavish, if you say another word, I will cut out your tongue and feed it to you."
".....note taken."
"How's Lord Scraggle doing?" Always good for a save, that Peach.
Of course, Peach wasn't her real name. But it's what Soap called her. It's what everyone knew her as. But, like everyone else, they had their own reasonings. And Ghost... Well, he respects her enough not to ever get in her way. Ever.
Simon buys you the old copy of the Hobbit you'd been clutching. You're shyly introduced to his friend Soap, and Peach. You introduce yourself too, and Peach repeats you to make sure she gets it right. In a bold move, you look to Simon and invite them to dinner. He shrugs, and looks to them. Peach tells you yes, and Soap looks like he's been kicked before he agrees, too. He looks familiar. You're not sure from where.
You talk about your book on the way home. Simon listens to every single bit of it, even if it might seem to you that he isn't. He doesn't tell you that he's read all the books too. If he could forget that he has, just to listen to you tell it to him as if it's his first time, he'd do it in a heartbeat.
The raccoons are under your- Simon's porch when you both get home. You squeak in excitement, rummaging through one of the bags on Simon's arms before sitting down in front of the porch, with your hand outstretched, a small marshmello sitting at the tips of your fingers.
Then, the smallest little grabby hand reaches up through the slats in the boards and takes the marshmello, tugging it down through the porch. You think you could cry.
Simon huffs a laugh and pulls you back to your feet as you both go inside.
And Scraggle dubs you to be a traitor, feeding other things than the cat. After all, is Scraggle not the most important thing in your life? Seriously, this cat is starved for attention every day, what a horrible, horrible house, death to mother and father, death for- oh, bowls are full again! Okay, maybe Scraggle can forgive you. It's already forgotten what it's upset about.

Never Say Never| Pt2
Warnings: Cursing, Mentioning of Infidelity
Pt1 Pt3 Pt4
(xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx)
It had been a few weeks since you and Hyunjin had started reconnecting. The initial awkwardness had faded, and the comfort of your friendship was slowly returning. You both avoided talking about the past too much, focusing instead on rebuilding the bond you once had.
You had taken things further with your old classmate and had been official for about two months when you decided to introduce him to Hyunjin.
One sunny afternoon, you decided to take a significant step in your renewed friendship. You had been seeing Kai for a few months now, and you thought it was time for him to meet Hyunjin. Despite the complexities of your history with Hyunjin, you wanted him to know the important people in your life.
"Hey, Hyunjin, are you free this weekend?" you texted him.
"Yeah, I should be. What's up?"
"I want you to meet someone. How about we grab coffee on Saturday?"
"Sounds good. Looking forward to it."
You were worried about your new boyfriend, feeling insecure, but strangely he didn't mind at all that you spent time with Hyunjin, and you found it attractive that he could be so assured you wouldn't do anything because he trusted you that much.
But he was still down to meet a famous idol.
Saturday arrived, and you found yourself at a cozy café, far from any public gaze - or at least relevant public gaze considering everyone around you was above 40 in the cafe - waiting for Hyunjin. You were nervous, unsure of how this meeting would go. Kai sat next to you, holding your hand reassuringly.
"Relax," he said with a smile. "It'll be good."
You smiled back, though your nerves didn't completely fade. A few minutes later, you spotted Hyunjin walking in, scanning the room until he saw you. He waved and made his way over, his usual confident stride slightly hesitant.
"Hey, Y/N," he greeted, giving you a warm smile. Then he turned to Kai. "And Kai. Nice to meet you."
Kai stood up and shook Hyunjin's hand. "Nice to meet you too. I've heard a lot about you."
Hyunjin raised an eyebrow playfully. "Same, Y/N talks about you a lot-"
"Oh, I meant from like...news articles and stuff haha. You're famous so Y/N doesn't really need to tell me much." Kai had said it in a way that seemed somewhat bitchy to Hyunjin, but he regarded it as a mishearing, since he couldn't help but admit he was slightly jealous of Kai.
You laughed and little nervously. "Why don't we sit?"
The three of you settled into a table by the window, and the conversation began. It started off light, and slightly tense, with small talk about work and hobbies. Hyunjin and Kai seemed to get along well enough, but Hyunjin couldn't help but feel a slight twinge of something he couldn't quite place. He chalked it up to jealousy and pushed the feeling aside. He would put up with you boyfriend if it made you happy.
Over the next few weeks, you continued to balance your time between Kai and Hyunjin. It was a delicate act, but you managed to make it work. Hyunjin and Kai had met a few more times, and while there was a tentative friendship forming, Hyunjin couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. Deep down Kai just didn't sit right with him.
He noticed little things that bothered him. Like Kai seemed almost too perfect, always saying the right things and never showing any flaws. As if he was compensating for something. You, on the other hand, seemed a bit more anxious than usual, often distracted and lost in thought. Knowing your nature, Hyunjin almost wondered if you were picking up on the same things.
One evening, as you and Hyunjin sat in a park, catching up after a long day, he decided to bring it up.
"Y/N, can I ask you something?" Hyunjin said, his tone serious.
"Of course," you replied, looking at him curiously.
"Is everything okay with you and Kai? You seem a bit... off lately."
You hesitated, looking away. "Everything's fine, Hyunjin. Why do you ask?"
He shrugged, trying to sound casual. "I don't know. Just a feeling, I guess. You know you can talk to me, right?"
You nodded, forcing a smile. "I know. Thanks, Hyunjin." While you felt slightly uncomfortable with your ex trying to give you relationship advice, you still very much appreciated that Hyunjin was willing to, and that he had your best interests in mind.
Despite your reassurances, Hyunjin's suspicion grew. He didn't want to pry, but he couldn't ignore the nagging feeling that something was wrong. He decided to keep a closer eye on things, hoping to understand what was going on, but do it on the down low as to not make you feel as if he was prying.
One evening, you invited Hyunjin over for dinner. Kai was out of town on a business trip, and you thought it would be nice to spend some time with Hyunjin. As you cooked together, you fell into an easy rhythm, laughing and joking like old times.
"Remember that time we tried to make sushi and ended up with rice everywhere?" Hyunjin asked, grinning.
You laughed. "How could I forget? We made such a mess! Chan was pissed."
You guys laughed and joked like old times, and you felt at peace.
After dinner, you settled on the couch with a glass of wine.
"I smell like meat now." Hyunjin joked, sniffing at himself.
"Really?" You leaned over and sniffed at him slightly. "I still smell your cologne. Maybe the meat smell is coming from me." You turned your head to sniff at you shoulder.
"It's not you. You smell like vanilla, and like...snickerdoodle cookies. You always have a warm sugar type of smell."
"I think it's because I prefer the sweeter scents. Maybe it was all the time I spent baking with Felix, but I'm obsessed with the smell of vanilla. I've found this once scent and I refuse to use any others. I might die it ever discontinued." You joked, sparking laughter from Hyunjin.
After a while the conversation turned more serious, and Hyunjin found himself asking about Kai again.
"So, how are things with Kai?" he asked, trying to keep his tone casual.
You knew what he was doing, and you hesitated, twirling the stem of your wine glass. "They're good. He's really supportive and understanding."
Hyunjin nodded, but the suspicion gnawed at him. "That's good to hear. You deserve someone who treats you well."
You smiled, but it didn't quite reach your eyes. "Thanks, Hyunjin. That means a lot. You...you treat me well too. You're my best friend." You found your heart doing a flip when he smiled- and you quickly tried to get it to stop.
As the weeks went by, Hyunjin's suspicion grew. He noticed more things that didn't quite add up. You seemed more stressed than usual, often distracted and distant. Whenever he asked about Kai, your answers were even more vague and hesitant than they had been at the beginning.
One evening, as you and Hyunjin sat in a quiet corner of a cafe, he decided to bring it up again.
"Y/N, is everything okay with you?" he asked, his concern evident.
You sighed, looking away. "I don't know, Hyunjin. I think...I might break up with Kai?"
Hyunjin's heart had jumped at the words, but he quickly suppressed that and focused on the bigger problem at hand. The why.
"What...why?"
"Sometimes I feel like he's hiding something from me." You bit your lip and your brow furrowed- an easy tell tale sign that you were about to cry. Hyunjin had known you long enough to know that for a fact.
He quickly reached out and grabbed your hand.
Hyunjin's heart sank. He wanted to protect you, to help you figure out what was going on. But he also knew he couldn't interfere too much; because it was very probable that his own feelings for you- and his distaste for Kai - could get in the way.
"Have you talked to him about it?" he asked gently.
You shook your head. "No. I'm afraid of what I might find out. I just have this feeling..."
Hyunjin reached out and took your other hand, giving it a comforting squeeze. "Whatever it is, you deserve to know the truth. And I'm sure in the long run everything will be okay."
You nodded, tears welling up in your eyes. "Thanks, Hyunjin. I just... I don't know what to do."
He wished he could do more to help, but all he could offer was his support. "I'm here for you, Y/N. Whatever you need, whenever you need it."
As you struggled with your doubts about Kai, Hyunjin found himself increasingly concerned for you. The more he thought about it, the more certain he became that something was wrong. He tried to be there for you as much as possible, hoping to provide some comfort and stability.
But his own feelings were a tangled mess. The jealousy he felt towards Kai was mixed with genuine worry for your well-being. He couldn't stand the thought of you being hurt again. And he knew he was still in love with you.
That fact was easy to prove.
Whenever he saw you laugh or smile- he felt an immense swell of affection, admiration, and the urge to just reach out and squeeze you. But he also felt that lined with guilt from the stupid mistake he had made long ago.
And not to mention whenever he was met with flirting from others, he could only imagine those words coming from your lips, or those subtle gestures being displayed by you.
One night, after another long conversation with you, Hyunjin lay in bed, staring at the ceiling. You had been crying. He needed to know what was going on, but he didn't want to overstep, and make it seem like he was being a petty ex. Because while he hoped for a second chance, he knew that if you broke up with Kai you could easily find someone else- and if that was the case he didn't want to jeopardize the friendship he had with you.
The next day, he decided to confide in Chan. As they sat in the practice room, Hyunjin poured out his concerns.
"I just don't know what to do," he admitted. "Something feels off with Kai- and Y/N feels it too. but I don't have any proof. I don't want to make things worse for Y/N. But I know they won't take any steps to confront the problem."
Chan listened carefully, his expression thoughtful. "Maybe you should trust your instincts, Hyunjin. If you really think something's wrong, it's better to find out now than let it fester. And if it's for Y/N's safety and happiness, a little overstepping might be needed."
Hyunjin nodded, feeling slightly reassured. "I just don't want to hurt Y/N again."
"You won't," Chan said firmly. "You're looking out for them. That's what friends do."
With Chan's words in mind, Hyunjin resolved to keep a closer eye on things. He didn't want to pry too much, but he couldn't ignore his gut feeling. He hoped that, whatever the truth was, it wouldn't break you further.
One evening, as you and Hyunjin sat in your apartment, the conversation turned to Kai again. You seemed more agitated than usual, your anxiety palpable.
A week passed since your conversation with Hyunjin about confronting Kai - whether that be with your idea of a breakup or something of a lesser magnitude. You still hadn't mustered up the courage to talk to Kai about your doubts, but Hyunjin's support was a constant source of comfort. He made sure to check in on you regularly, and you found yourself leaning on him more and more.
And it slowly made you realize just how much you had been pushing down those feelings of love you had been suppressing. Because with every glance he shot your way, every brush of your hands, or breeze or flow of air that carried his scent to you-
You were flooded by all the good memories you had with him. All the love.
One afternoon, you and Hyunjin were walking through a bustling street market. He had apologized before taking you out- since the place you were going required some sort of disguise, and it made him think back to the reason you guys had broken up in the first place. You assured him it was fine though. The vibrant colors and enticing smells provided a temporary distraction from your worries and any other minor inconveniences.
"Let's get some street food," Hyunjin suggested, his eyes lighting up at the sight of a tteokbokki stand.
You nodded, grateful for the extra distraction. As you stood in line, you noticed Hyunjin glancing at you, concern etched on his face.
"You've been really quiet today," he remarked, handing you a steaming cup of rice cakes.
"I'm just...thinking," you admitted, taking a bite. The spicy sauce did little to ease the knot in your stomach. But it was still tasty.
Hyunjin sighed, placing a hand on your shoulder. "I know it's hard, Y/N. But you can't keep avoiding this. It's eating you up inside."
You looked down, feeling the weight of his words. "I know, Hyunjin. I just... I'm scared of what I might find out."
Hyunjin's grip tightened slightly, a gesture of reassurance. "Whatever it is, you'll get through it. And I'll be here for you, always."
Later that evening, you sat in your apartment, staring at your phone. Kai had texted you earlier, saying he would be home late due to work. You knew you needed to talk to him, but the fear of what he might say paralyzed you.
A knock on the door pulled you from your thoughts. You opened it to find Hyunjin standing there, a determined look on his face.
"Hey," you greeted, surprised. "What are you doing here?"
"I couldn't stop thinking about you," he admitted. "I know this is tough, but you need to confront Kai. And I'm not leaving until you do. I thought it might be easier to have someone here to support you, since you hate confrontation."
You felt a surge of gratitude and determination. "Okay, Hyunjin. I'll do it. But I don't know if Kai would like it if you were here...I'm not sure if you've noticed but he seems to be...uh...not to be rude but in distate of you?"
Hyunjin chuckled. "No offense taken, mon ange." He felt the nickname slip of off his tongue naturally and mentally kicked himself. It had been so long since he had spoken those words to you, yet they felt so familiar, and his tongue loved the feel of it.
You looked at him with wide eyes and swallowed. "Kai should be home in a little, I'll call you?"
Hyunjin nodded and gave you a little bow before rushing off, feeling his cheeks warm in hot embarrassment.
Hours later, Kai finally came home. He looked exhausted, but his face lit up when he saw you.
"Hey, Y/N," he said, walking over to give you a hug. "Sorry I'm so late." He pulled you close in an even tighter squeeze, and you took a breath, your nostrils filling with a pine sort of scent, and flowers. Like if you were standing in a botanical garden.
You pulled away slightly, taking a deep breath. "Kai, we need to talk."
Kai's expression shifted to one of concern. "What's wrong?"
"I feel like... like there's something you're not telling me. There's been this distance between us, and I can't ignore it anymore."
Kai's eyes widened in surprise. "Y/N, what are you talking about? I haven't been hiding anything."
"Then why do I feel like you're keeping secrets from me?" you demanded, your voice shaking.
Kai ran a hand through his hair, clearly frustrated. "I've been stressed with work, but that doesn't mean I'm hiding anything from you."
"Kai, I just need to know the truth," you said, your voice breaking. "I can't keep living like this. You're always away. I moved in because I thought it would be more convenient and I would see you more, but it seems I see you even less than when I lived with my best friend."
Kai sighed, his shoulders slumping. "Alright, Y/N. I didn't want to burden you with this, but... I've been having some issues at work. It's nothing serious, just some disagreements with my boss. I didn't want to worry you. I've been working extra to get back on his good side. I enjoy this job. I enjoy the money. The people." He takes a breath. "You don't usually get that in a job that pays this well. So, I don't want to lose it."
You stared at him, processing his words. "Why didn't you just tell me?"
"I didn't want to add to your stress," he explained, his voice soft. "You've been through so much already." He goes and ruffles your hair.
You felt a mix of relief and frustration. "Kai, I appreciate that, but we're supposed to support each other. Keeping things from me only makes it worse. You know how anxious I get."
Kai nodded, looking remorseful. "You're right. I'm sorry, Y/N. I'll be more open with you from now on." He kisses your forehead and says something about going to shower.
The conversation left you emotionally drained. Kai's explanation made sense, but there was still a lingering doubt in your mind.
"Do you believe him?" Hyunjin asked when you brought it up to him the next day. You were sitting in the dorms, choosing to spend your workday there since it was the guy's day off. The perks of working from home. You intended to go shopping with Jeongin later, but you just had to finish one last form, but you got distracted by telling Hyunjin about the conversation you had.
You sighed, leaning back on the couch. "I want to. But part of me still feels like there's more to it."
Hyunjin nodded, understanding your hesitation. "Just take it one step at a time, Y/N. And remember, I'm here for you."
As the days went by, you tried to move forward, focusing on rebuilding trust with Kai. But it was like your sixth sense was blaring. But you found solace in having a friend like Hyunjin. He seemed to make the complicated things a bit easier to bear.
However, Hyunjin's own feelings were becoming even more complicated. The more time he spent with you, the harder it was to suppress his lingering affection. And despite his best efforts to be supportive, he couldn't ignore the nagging suspicion that something was still amiss with Kai- especially when you were saying those things yourself.
One evening, as you and Hyunjin walked through the city, he decided to voice his concerns.
"Y/N, I know you want to believe Kai, but I can't shake this feeling that something's not right," he admitted, his voice tense. "And I don't want to seem out of place but I can't stand to see you suffering."
You looked at him, startled by his candor. "What do you mean?"
Hyunjin took a deep breath, trying to find the right words. "I don't know. It's just... little things I've noticed. He seems too perfect, too controlled. And you still seem so uneasy. And...it makes no sense to get back on your bosses good side. Especially with the industry he's in he has like 4 different bosses so unless he somehow pissed off all four of them."
You frowned, considering his words. "Do you think he's lying to me?"
"I don't want to jump to conclusions," Hyunjin said quickly. "But I think you should trust your instincts. If something feels off, don't ignore it."
"He wouldn't lie to me though. We've known each other for years. I don't think he'd do that."
"Y/N-"
"Hyunjin I think you're right. It is out of your place. So...lets drop it okay?"
Hyunjin felt his heart droop like a kicked puppy and nodded.
The next few days were a whirlwind of emotions. You tried to balance your relationship with Kai while keeping Hyunjin's words in mind- even when you didn't want to. It hurt to think that someone you had known for so long would be doing something behind your back.
The tension between you and Kai grew, and you felt a tension growing in between you and Hyunjin.
You had been upset and hadn't talked to him in a few days. You told yourself he was only doing these things because he was jealous. But you knew Hyunjin and while he did act on his jealousy occasionally, you knew he wouldn't jeopardize your entire relationship because of it.
And you couldn't shake the feeling that something was still wrong.
One night, after another argument with Kai, and argument that had brought a lot of suspicions to light; you found yourself at Hyunjin's apartment. He welcomed you in, offering a listening ear and a comforting presence.
"I don't know what to do, Hyunjin," you admitted, tears streaming down your face. "I want to believe him, but I he's acting really defensive about things now."
Hyunjin pulled you into a hug, his heart aching for you. "It's okay, Y/N. Take your time. You'll figure it out." He felt hurt for you, and he leaned his nose to your shoulder. The smell of warm sugar and vanilla and everything homely easing his nerves. Nerves that he was more than sure were tripled in your own case.
The strain in your relationship with Kai only grew as the days went by. The tension was palpable, and you often found yourself retreating into the comfort of Hyunjin's company. His unwavering support was the only thing keeping you grounded, but even he couldn't shield you from the turmoil you were experiencing.
One night, it finally blew up. You had gone through his company email, after seeing a suspicious text. You found yourself unable to bear it any longer. It was well past midnight when you stormed out of your apartment, tears streaming down your face. You didn't know where to go, but your feet carried you to a familiar place: the dorm.
It was an ungodly hour when you arrived, especially since you had walked the few miles- which you knew would get you in trouble with Hyunjin and in turn the rest of the boys. Also considering you were in an extremely vulnerable state. You hated the thought of Chan or Felix scolding you on top of all of this.
Your heart pounding in your chest as you knocked on the door. The city was eerily quiet, the only sound being your soft sobs and the distant hum of light early morning traffic.
After what felt like an eternity, the door finally creaked open.
"Its 2:30 in the fucking morning why the hell-"
Minho stood there, bleary-eyed and clearly half-asleep. And angry pout set into his face. His expression quickly shifted from anger to concern when he saw you.
"Y/N? What's going on?" he asked, his voice hushed yet urgent.
You choked back a sob, unable to form coherent words. Minho quickly ushered you inside, his protective instincts kicking in. His arms wrapped around you as he looked around and locked the door.
"Are you hurt? Did someone hurt you?" He gently looked all around, his hands gentle as he sat you on the couch and tried to hold back his anger at the thought of someone hurting you. He knew it had been a while since you and Hyunjin had ended things but he still regarded you as his family.
The weight of everything seemed to crash down on you all at once. Moments later, Chan appeared, his hair disheveled and eyes wide with worry, but not sleepy at all.
He must have been working.
"Y/N, what happened?" he asked, rushing to your side. Slowly other members filed out due to the commotion.
When Hyunjin walked out, rubbing his eyes and running into Seungmin, his expression turned to a murderous anger and he pushed through to you.
"Did he hurt you?" His questions mimicked those of Minho's and the younger members went back into their rooms with looks of concern and hesitation after Chan waved them away. He and Minho stayed out with Changbin, and if it wasn't for the state of panic you were in you'd laugh at how much of a parent dynamic the hyung line had.
You looked up at him, your vision blurred by tears. "I...I couldn't stay there anymore, Hyunjin. It's too much."
"Did he hurt you?" Hyunjin asked again. "If he laid a finger-"
"No he didn't..." You manage to choke out. "He- you were right Hyunjin. You were right."
Hyunjin's face hardened with determination. He sat down beside you, wrapping an arm around your shoulders. "You can tell me when you're ready."
Through your tears, you explained how you had discovered the truth about Kai. How your suspicions had grown because he always smelled like flowers.
It was a stupid realization, but you had never used flower scents. You found it to be an unappealing scent due to the subtleness of it. Which you would have never noticed the scent on Kai if you had never trained yourself to try and smell them when you had been using scents of such. And so whenever you hugged him and he had the subtle aroma your suspicions had grown.
Then a weird transaction happened on your cars, and it led you down a rabbit hole where you found the immense amount of debt Kai was in.
He had originally been truthful about working late nights- but another coworker had been too and eventually it led to a couple of drinks and a "stupid mistake". Except the guilt hadn't done anything other thasn to make Kai more doting in repentance, since he continued after the "mistake."
The arguments and the secrecy had all led to one heartbreaking revelation that he had been meeting with someone else, under the guise of late-night work meetings. But it wasn't just physical cheating that shattered you; it was the emotional betrayal. Kai had formed an emotional connection with someone else, confiding in them about things he should have been sharing with you.
He even said he loved them.
"I confronted him," you said, your voice breaking. "He admitted it. Said he didn't mean for it to happen, that he was just lonely and stressed at work. He apologized. Saying he didn't mean to fall in love with someone else. He cried. So much. Like he was hurt that he hurt me."
Hyunjin listened intently, his jaw clenched in anger and frustration on your behalf. "Don't do that Y/N."
You looked up at him from his embrace, and you saw anger and frustration overtake his exhaustion.
"Wh-what?"
"Don't make it so you see yourself as the villain. He might feel horrible, but it doesn't take away from the fact that he acted on those feelings while being in a relationship with you. You don't have to paint him out to be the bad guy if you don't want to." Though I do. "But you're sure as hell not going to blame yourself for this. People fall out of love all the time but that never justifies cheating."
You wiped your eyes, trying to steady your breathing. "I thought I could handle it, that we could work through it. But seeing him tonight, knowing he was still talking to her... I couldn't stay. I thought it would be a clean break but its not- Hyunjin it's not." You let out a guttural sob, and Hyunjin swear he can hear his heartbreak.
Hyunjin tightened his hold on you, his voice filled with conviction. "You're not alone, Y/N. We'll get through this. I'll help you. The guys will."
Minho, who had been silently watching from the doorway with Chan and Changbin stepped forward. "Do you need anything? Water? Tea?"
You shook your head, grateful for his kindness. "No, I'm okay. Thank you, Minho."
He nodded, giving you a reassuring smile. "Take your time. We're here for you."
Chan and Changbin both came and hugged you along side Minho. It was a comforting group hug that seemed to take the hurt away slightly.
As the night wore on, you found some semblance of peace in the familiarity of the dorm. The comforting presence of Hyunjin helped ease your anxiety, even if just a little.
"Why don't you stay here tonight?" Hyunjin suggested gently. "You shouldn't go back home. Not right now." He flipped your phone over behind you, ignoring the 12 missed calls and numerous texts from Kai. "I can inform the bastard that you'll be staying here for a while."
You hesitated, not wanting to impose. But the thought of returning to your apartment, where the shadows of your argument with Kai still lingered, was too much to bear.
"Okay," you agreed, your voice barely above a whisper.
Chan nodded in agreement. His exhaustion setting in. "I'll set up the guest room for you. Stay here as long as you need. It'll be nice having another face around the house."
Once you were settled into the guest room, Hyunjin lingered in the doorway, his expression a mix of concern and determination.
"Get some sleep, Y/N. We'll talk more in the morning," he said softly.
You nodded, feeling a wave of exhaustion wash over you. "Thank you, Hyunjin. For everything."
He gave you a small, reassuring smile. "Anything for you."
As he closed the door, you lay back on the bed, your mind racing with thoughts and emotions. Despite the chaos, a sense of relief washed over you. You weren't alone. Hyunjin was there and so were the guys, and together, you would navigate whatever lay ahead.
The next morning, you woke up to the smell of coffee and the sound of soft chatter coming from the kitchen. You hesitated for a moment before heading out, finding Minho and Hyunjin sitting at the table.
"Good morning- or afternoon." Minho greeted with a warm smile. "How are you feeling?"
"Better," you admitted, taking a seat. "Thank you."
Hyunjin poured you a cup of coffee, sliding it across the table.
You nodded, taking a sip of the hot beverage. "I need to talk to Kai. Really talk to him. Ease myself a bit."
"Y/N...you don't intend to get back with him do you?" Jisung said settling next to Hyunjin. "Cause I would kill him if I were you."
"Ya! Jisung don't be like that." Chan scolded from the kitchen where he was making lunch. Jisung huffed quietly and pouted.
"Fine dad." He said pulling his cup up for a sip.
"I'm not. I just want to talk with him and make this a civilized break. Grab my stuff too."
"You sure he'll be able to afford the apartment with all his debt? Broke ass bitch-" Seungmin said while he was grabbing something from the fridge.
Chan reached over and slapped the back of his head lightly. "Ya! Did you not hear me scold Jisung a minute ago?"
"It's the truth though..." Seungmin mumbled rubbing the back of his head. "Imagine having to work overtime because of debt, and then getting in more debt because you found an office affair because of overtime. With the amount of money he'll be owing the landlord now he'll probably cheat seven mor-" Chan hit him again a little bit harder and Seungmin sighed. "You're just feeding into censorship. I'm spitting facts."
"Seungmin stop watching American shows, you'll linfluence Innie." Changbin says looking up from his phone.
"Stop censorship!" Innie says raising a fist into the air while shoving half a bowl of ramen in his mouth.
You can't help but laugh, and Hyunjin feels his heart thump at hearing it again.
He reached across the table, taking your hand in his. "We'll be here for you, no matter what. Based on what you told me it seems he knows a breakup is inevitable. It's really mature of you to want to talk first, and be able to express your hurt."
Minho nodded in agreement. "And you deserve to be happy, Y/N. Don't forget that."
Later that day, you decided it was time to confront Kai. Hyunjin offered to come with you for support, but you insisted on facing this alone. He respected your decision, giving you a reassuring hug before you left. And a soft pet on the head.
Something he had done when you both were something more.
When you were both something that you found yourself missing more and more.
As you stood outside your apartment, your heart pounded in your chest. Taking a deep breath, you unlocked the door and stepped inside. Kai was sitting on the couch, his expression a mix of relief and apprehension when he saw you.
"Y/N, where were you? I was worried sick," he said, standing up.
"I needed some time to think," you replied, your voice steady despite the turmoil inside. "We need to talk, Kai."
He nodded, gesturing for you to sit. "Okay. Yeah. Let's talk." He said nodding, knowing what was to come.
A little later, you had grabbed a duffel full of a couple of things, intending to come back another day for the rest of your belongings. You had wished your ex all of the best. Even if your heart was completley shattered.
You felt humiliated and ashamed.
You were all broken, and he was okay. Even being honest enough to admit he was going to continue his relationship.
Leaving the apartment, you intended to walk around for a little, to clear your head and dry your tears before having to go back to the dorm and face everyone.
But that plan immediately failed when you stepped out from the building and saw Hyunjin standing there with a small boquet of roses.
The only sound you could hear was the paper crumpling in his hands as he walked towards you.
"Y/N." He said softly, and that was all it took for the towers to come crashing down.
You just buried your head into his chest and let him hold you.
The flowers were long forgotten as you sobbed into him, and as he whispered sweet nothings into your hair.
"Let's go home." He said quietly.
And there in your arms you realized something that you had been shoving into the depths of your soul for a long time. Something that maybe wasn't entirely appropriate for you to be realizing at the moment.
Hyunjin was your home. You missed him.
And you wanted to ruin what you had with him. Make it into something more.
Because you were still very much in love with him.
But you were too prideful to ever admit that...

"I'M NOT SIGNING UP"
You said louder than expected while trying to be reasonable to your friend.
"Honey, why are you screaming? All I just did was tell you to sign up to this reality show, nothing else...Jesus" Your friend Seungkwan said.
You sighed "I don't know, Kwanie. It's too much exposure... I'll be filmed for 24 hours, seven days a week. It's too much for me."
"Y/N, think with me" he said. "You'll be in a house with a lot of people, you don't know who they are, so just be yourself and try to catch a good one for you."
You started to think. Maybe it wasn't such a bad idea. Nobody will know you there. You're safe.
But just the fact the program will be aired on national television, and your mom will probably watch the show, bring you chills all over your body.
You just have to try, right?
-
Wrong.
When Seungkwan came home with the papers from the program, including all the rules and special items for the participants, your body froze.
If they don't like you? If you ended up being a side-partner for someone? This was such a bad idea.
"Are you even listening to me, girl?" Seungkwan said with a hurt face.
"Sorry, I'm immersed in my thoughts."
"However they are, just forget them and focus on this." he pointed to the paper. "There will be 16 participants, that means will be formed 8 couples. You obviously will be with someone...plus, you're hot. You pull anyone you want." He said.
"Don't try to put me up, this is a dating show, not a university." You said, pointing to the papers, sighing after. "Should I, Kwanie?"
"If you were me, I would be signing them and already be on the set, trust me."
You felt anxious. That would be a good idea, right? Seungkwan is a good friend, he wouldn't put you in a bad situation.
"Give me the papers. Where do I sign?"
For the first time, you're sitting at the meeting table. The crew from the reality show called you for a meeting before the show starts, apparently they did this with everyone individually.
You're sitting right before the director. He was wearing glasses that were so big that you could see at such a long distance.
"So, your name is Y/N L/N, right?" You nodded. "We saw your profile...why did you decide to participate in the show?"
What should you say?
"Aham..." You cleared your throat. "...my friend signed me up. I don't know much about these programs, but I'll do my best."
"What kind of person you are? I mean, you should have a captivating personality to show to the public." The director said while writing something on the paper in front of him.
You described yourself, trying to be the more truthful you can be.
"I see...look, not to offend you or anything but, I'll just put you on the show because you're pretty. You don't have the type of personality we want."
"Oh...ahm, okay, no problem." You said, trying to not be offended by the words. "So, when will everything start?"
-
"They gave me this kit and filmed an introduction video."
"That's why you came looking like a whole different person?" Seungkwan said while examining you. "Even your hair, dude."
"I know right? They even gave me an introduction book to study and then tell the other participants." You said whipping off your makeup. "This is such a mess, Kwanie."
"Calm down, sweetie. Everything is going to be alright once you get there. By the way, when are you going to start?"
"Tomorrow afternoon. They will send a van to pick me up." You finished. "So, if you excuse me, I will pack up my things."
While packing up your stuff, you saw Seungkwan looking at you, with a confused expression on his face.
"Y/Nie, I was thinking..."
"Here we go..."
"Don't do this!" He said after your interrupting. "Back to what I was saying. If you find a boyfriend on that show, you must give me a gift after you get out of that place. Don't you think?"
"Really, Kwanie?"
"Yes, look...I was the one who encouraged you to do this shit, so if you find someone to fuck, you have to treat me."
"Seungkwan, stop."
"I'm serious..."
"I know you're. But still"
"But we have a deal, right?"
You looked at his face and gave a little smile.
"Okay, boo. But nothing too expensive."
-
You were amazed. The place was so huge that you could literally take a marathon there.
You took your stuff and put it all on a cart, where you could walk with. Walking into the place, you saw a lot of places that you probably wouldn't ever use, even a jacuzzi in every room in there. That was crazy.
"Hello, may i help you?"
"Oh, hi." You looked at the girl in front of you. "Yes, actually. Do you know where room 526 is?"
"Room 526? I'm staying there too. C'mon, I'll take you there. By the way, I'm Hyejin."
"Y/N"
Hyejin took you to the room, signaling which bed you would take and where to put your stuff.
"How did you know about the show?" Hyejin asked after you to come back to the entrance of the place.
"My friend signed up my name for me. I didn't find it out of nowhere, y'know?" You saw her nod "And you?"
"I'm trying to find a boyfriend, so I think it would be cool to try something different."
After the little conversation, the crew of the show started to gather together. Filming would begin. They took you to a place where you would do your makeup, hair and put on a different clothe.
As soon as you did, you were taken to a place that was calm. The director said that you would come from a different place, actually, everyone would come from a different place.
"And ACTION!"
You started walking to the place where was all the people gathered. Sawing a lot a people you didn't know, just Hyejin was a known face for you.
"Hey, my name is Y/N. I have 24 years old, and I'm just trying to find someone good here." You said as the script they gave you.
You saw everyone introducing themselves. But that was someone who caught your attention.
His name was Mingyu. The long hair, canines standing out and the height that above anyone there was a little bit of his characteristics. You're a bit taken back by his visuals, how can someone look that good?
Maybe that show would be interesting...
-
It was about midnight. You were down on your bed, trying to catch sleep. But that didn't work, so you decided to take a walk around the place, only to find Mingyu sitting at the beach across your room.
"Hi...Mingyu, right?"
"Yes." Oh my god, his voice... " And you are Y/N, I'm right?"
"Yes, you're. Aham, what are you doing here?" You asked sitting next to him on the sand.
"I was trying to find my sleep...but that didn't work." Mingyu chuckled. "And you?"
"Same, actually."
Silence. Just the waves cracking on the beach were being listened to.
"It's kinda hard, right?" Mingyu broke the silence.
"What?"
"Even when we are here, there are cameras pointing at us and our mics are working perfectly well. It's kinda annoying."
You were trying to stay on the script. So you said the worst lie ever.
"I kinda like it, tho. It seems pretty cool."
"Really? Your mouth says something while your face says otherwise." Oh fuck, he was smarter than you thought.
"See..." You tamped your mic, whispering the next words. "They gave me a script, I must follow it, right?"
Mingyu chuckled again, looking at you right after.
"When you're with me, fuck that script. Be yourself."
"Okay...and why?" You asked genuinely.
"Because I want to know the real you." Mingyu stayed looking at you, but right after, he stood up and started to walk away. "Bye, Y/N."
"Wait, Mingyu!" You screamed his name. But nothing happened, he still walked away.
Mingyu wants to know the real you?
-
The first two weeks passed away. You're a lot closer to everyone, including him, Mingyu.
You guys were inseparable. Everything one of the two of you did, the other one followed. It was always like this.
But then, you started to feel something more for him. His smile was starting to make things to your heart. But he was nothing beyond. It was noticeable that Mingyu felt something for you too. Tight hugs, kisses on the forehead, arms linked...he fell for you.
"You know...tomorrow is the day to choose who goes to heaven with you." You said to him.
Heaven. The place everyone wants to be. It was an especial place for the couple to be closer. There they would use the same room, the same closet. Almost like a marriage life.
"And?" Mingyu answered.
"Do you know who are you gonna chose?"
Mingyu chuckled. "Baby, don't fuck with me...you already know who I will choose. There's no mystery in this." He began to caress your hair, running his hand through your strands.
"I don't know...maybe you will choose Hyejin." You said looking away.
"Hyejin?? She is a friend to me...plus, she is in love with that guy from the beach tennis, remember?"
Oh... Seungcheol.
"Yes, I do."
"So don't be worried...you will always be my first option."
-
Heaven.
When Mingyu choose you over another two beautiful girls, you were not surprised, but you still couldn't believe that he has fallen for you
Right now, you were on you new room, trying to put all of your clothes on your space in the closet. It was already midnight.
"Need help?" Your heard Mingyu.
"Not really, just trying to fit all of this in here." You said. "And you, what are you planning to do?"
Mingyu was dressed in shorts and a tank top. A literal sin infront of you.
"I was planning to go in the water...you know, I never used the jacuzzi from my another room, maybe this one could be better."
After saying this, Mingyu took off his tank top and put it on the bed, heading towards the jacuzzi, where he took a dip.
"You don't wanna come?" Mingyu called for you.
"Mingyu, it's already midnight. You'll catch a cold."
"C'mon, baby. Once you are in, you will love, I promise."
You gave up. You put on a bikini and went to the jacuzzi, not forgetting to take the smaller camera to capture the moment for the crew to use later in the program.
"It's cold here." You said entering the jacuzzi, that the water was hot. "But the water is good."
" I know right?" Mingyu said, right before looking at your body up and down. "You look pretty in red."
"Thanks, Mingyu." You said giving him a pat on his shoulder.
A few minutes passed. You talked for a long time, but something Mingyu said may have changed the direction of the conversation.
"You know... you're too far away from me."
"Really? You think that?" You said picking up the camera and passing it to Gyu, who placed it on the jacuzzi's corner.
"Uhum...I think you should come closer."
So you came. You placed yourself right before him, having a jump scare when he placed his hand on your waist and putted you on his lap. Chest by chest.
"Mingyu..."
"This is way better, right?" He said, caressing your sides.
"Yes, but...the cameras."
"Relax, baby...the cameras can't film here, we're safe, we can do whatever we want." He said, turning off the smaller camera.
After that, Mingyu attacked your lips, like a fierce animal. His mouth was like heaven. You placed your arms around his neck, giving you the balance you need to not fall from his lap. Mingyu held your hips, starting to move you back and forth, like a sequence.
"Just don't make too much noise here, they might find out our little fun." Mingyu said, moving his hand to your center. "Can I?"
You nodded. Yes, you wanted everything from him.
Mingyu started with little movements, just teasing your clit. But after them, he penetrated two fingers at once in your pussy, making you whine a little bit, trying to not moan too loud.
"My pretty girl is doing so good for me. Taking me so well...if you're squeezing my fingers like that, I can't wait to feel you around me."
"Mingyu, please..."
"Please what baby?"
"Please...put it inside of me."
"As you want..."
Mingyu took off his shorts, just to find out he was only with them his whole time. But now, that didn't matter, you need to have him.
You stood up a little bit, taking your bikini panties aside, he positioned his member in the right path to your entrance, letting him penetrate every second, until you sat down completely.
"Fuck!" Mingyu exclaimed. "You're so tight, baby. Might come in seconds."
You started bouncing on his lap, forgot about everything at your side. The water from the jacuzzi was falling through the bordes, wetting the entire camera that was in the corner. Mingyu wasn't different from you, his whines were so pretty, giving you so much gas for continue.
But, out of nowhere, he picked you up and put you at the border. He took off your panties, almost desperate.
"I need you to come in my tongue." And then, he started to eat you out like crazy.
The sounds he was making were almost pornographic, he was diving too much into you. He got smeared from nose to chin, not caring about the mess he was doing.
Your hand, that was before at your side, now they were being picked up by Mingyu and placed in his hair.
"Pull my hair, discount your pleasure." You made it. Mingyu started moaning in between your legs, one of his hands inside the water, pleasuring himself in the middle of eating you out. "Such a delicious pussy, baby. Made for me, right?" You nodded.
After a few more licks, you came on his tongue, having him suck all of your juice.
"So sweet." He gave you a peck right after, making you taste a little bit of yourself. "How about a shower now?"
"The cameras, Gyu..."
"Shit...you first, baby."
-
The morning has come, Mingyu was right behind you on the bed, brushing your hair to put it all together.
"Wish I had this view everyday in my life." He said, putting the brush down.
"But you can..."
"Yeah?" You nodded. "How can, baby?"
"Let's just get out of here and I'll tell you" You said, hearing Mingyu chuckle right after.
The day passed by. You and Mingyu were like love birds, nothing could separate you two. Now, you're once again in bed.
Mingyu were caressing your hair while you're on his chest.
"I think we should just give up from the show and get to live our lives in peace. What do you think?" He said.
"That's not a bad idea."
-
"Kwanie, this is..."
"I know, I know...you're the one, right?" Seungkwan said to Mingyu.
"Probably?"
Seungkwan nodded, turning to you right after.
"You have to treat me a whole Korean barbecue, I gave you the chance to meet this greek god and...AH!" You interrupted Seungkwan by holding his arm.
"Baby, what are you doing?" Mingyu asked.
"How about Korean barbecue for dinner, hum?"

you and your best friend jisung were always tittering on the borderline of a romantic relationship and a platonic one. you thought you knew everything about him, only to be proven wrong in a way you never expected.
PAIRING: han jisung x reader
GENRE: fluff, crack, angst if you squint
WARNING: none, just tooth-rottingly sweet fluff with our dense hannie
DISCLAIMER: this is 100% fiction and doesn’t portray how the featured idols act in reality, this is made purely for entertainment
WORD COUNT: 1.3k
a/n: i recently got back into the very first anime i’ve watched, and the two main protagonists are so OBLIVIOUS to each other’s feelings. there’s literally an ongoing joke within the fandom that the main male protagonist believes that he’s been in a relationship with the female protagonist the whole time despite not having discussed it (natsu and lucy from fairy tail..)😅 but that’s what inspired this very short oneshot LOL. i hope you enjoy!
Tumblr media
A yellow beam of sunlight peeked through the transparent material of the window curtain, casting its glow throughout the bedroom. The warmth from the sun bloomed on your skin, greeting you with a pleasant and sunny morning. Fluttering your eyes open, you find yourself face-to-face with your best friend sleeping soundly beside you with his lips slightly parted as you feel his soft and slow breaths tickle your nose.
This was normal to you at this point, you were no longer fazed by the recurring visitor who would sneak into your house almost every day. Was it an invasion of privacy? To most people, definitely. It took some time for you to get used to it, but you didn’t mind it. You had grown quite fond of the quokka boy in front of you—so much so that you’ve found yourself falling in love with him, much to your dismay. How could you not? He has been by your side through thick and thin, and the trust and bond between you two has never wavered. Not once. And here he was, his strong arms wrapped securely around your waist, his legs entangled with yours, and his face just mere inches away.
Staring at his delicate features, you often pondered about whether or not he felt the same way, but you have always been too scared to ruin the friendship that you hold too dear to you, that you’ve just decided to keep all your feelings to yourself and remain on platonic terms with the boy you grew to love more than just a friend would.
As if you were in a fairytale, the dissonant melody of the birds outside on the tree by the windowsill stirred the boy next to you awake. As soon as he made the slightest bit of movement, you closed your eyes and pretended to be asleep, just so you wouldn’t be caught staring at him.
“Mornin’ Y/N.” His raspy voice spoke to you in a gentle manner, and you felt yourself burning up from just the feeling of his gaze on you. Yet, you stuck to your act and kept your eyes closed. It was quiet for a minute or two before the joyful sound of his laughter broke the silence.
“Y/N baby I know you’re awake, weirdo. Why are you pretending to be asleep?”
Here he was with the pet names again. Your heart skipped a beat before speeding up, the blood pumping through your veins and rushing to your face. You hesitantly opened your eyes to a small squint, your eyelashes blurring your vision.
“Hey, Sungie.” Your voice greeted him with a mellow whisper as the sensation of his hand wiped the corner of your lip.
“Ew, you got drool on your face.”
“Shut it, will ya?”
The dynamic between the two of you would constantly fluctuate from flirting and teasing, it was never really consistent. His actions often left you dazed and confused, the borderline between friends and something more than that was blurred beyond clarity—even your closest friends wondered if there was something more going on.
“Is everything alright? You have this look on your face,” Jisung scrunched his face and sat up, bringing you with him. He leaned his face closer to yours, you assumed to inspect your expression, and you felt your face burn up.
You were confused about a lot of things—but if there was ONE thing that you were sure of, it was the fact that he drove you mad. You had your speculations that he knew your feelings for him and did these things to tease you, but your intuition speaks to you that it isn’t EXACTLY the case. Things have been this way for as long as you can remember, and to be frank, you were getting more and more affected by it.
It was when Jisung stared at your lips and leaned in even closer, that you finally decided you had had enough. Your hands took its place on top of his chest and you pushed him away softly. “Why do you keep doing this?”
A small frown played on his lips. He couldn't read your mind, and you couldn’t read his. “Keep doing what?”
“This!” Your voice grew a little louder as your finger gestured back and forth between him and you. It didn’t seem to help, though. Jisung still looked lost, you were able to tell that he didn’t exactly know what you meant. He was so painfully oblivious.
“I’m sorry for upsetting you, Y/N.” He apologized anyway, despite not knowing what he did wrong. “Is it because I keep sneaking in without your permission? I thought it didn’t bother you because you never said anything, but I’ll stop if you want me to. I’m sorry.”
The frown on his face became more evident, and you started feeling bad for the boy. His eyes watered as he looked down at his hands, fidgeting on the blanket. You let out an audible sigh and shook your head.
“It’s not that. I’m fine with you sneaking in, but leaning in so close to my face? Calling me pet names? Wrapping me so tightly in hugs that would last more than what’s considered normal? Why?”
You were frustrated, to say the least. You felt like your emotions were just being toyed with by your own best friend and you couldn’t take it anymore. His lips quivered and his eyes got watery. For some reason, your questions hurt him.
“I’m so sorry Y/N. I just thought it was normal to do that, I am your boyfriend after all. Do you want to break up with me? Please don’t, I’ll stop it if it makes you uncomfortable, I promise I didn’t know. Did you lose feelings for me?”
And so you stared at him. Silently. It took you a while to process his words in your head—but the more you processed it, the wider your eyes got.
“…you’re my boyfriend?”
Jisung blinked. You blinked. He blinked even more. The look of hurt on his face quickly became replaced with a look of disorientation.
“Uhm? Yeah? We love each other, don’t we? So that makes me your boyfriend? We’ve been together for a while now, Y/N.”
Your jaw dropped to the floor when you heard him utter those words, and suddenly everything started making sense to you. All those times he flirted with you, all the attempts to kiss you, all his protectiveness against other people, and all the hugs and cuddles suddenly made sense. He wasn’t toying around with your feelings at all, he was just reciprocating them. Strings of laughter began to escape your lips as your arms grasped your stomach—Jisung only looked at you in bewilderment.
“Why… why are you laughing?”
“Jisung you‘re so stupid!”
“Hey! I’m trying to be serious here and fix things and you’re over here laughing at me and insulting me?? HOW RUDE!” He crossed his arms with a pout, but he couldn’t hide the underlying look of relief on his face when he saw that you weren’t mad or upset.
“Yes I love you, but you have to ask me to be yours before you could just assume it, idiot!! I didn’t know that you loved me back so I just thought you were playing with my feelings!” You flicked his forehead as he furrowed his eyebrows in disagreement.
“But it‘s obvious that I love you!! I thought that because we feel the same way, we would automatically be a couple!”
“THAT’S NOT HOW IT WORKS!!”
You threw a pillow at Jisung’s face, the sudden impact throwing him off the bed. You could hear him whine childishly from the foot of your bed and so you stuck your tongue out at him, a lovesick grin plastered on both of your faces.
He was such a dork, but you didn’t care because you loved him. And he loved you too.

prized possession | dan heng || honkai star rail one shot
Tumblr media
published on october 22nd, 2023.
pairing: dan heng x reader
genre: fluff, with a sprinkle of jelly + possessive dan heng
word count: who knows at this point, but it is kind of short anyway.
synopsis: your boyfriend, dan heng, gets jealous over you talking with another guy that he doesn’t know. that’s the gist of it.
warning: lowercase is intended! there might be some spoilers if you are not caught up with dan heng IL’s lore. dan heng IL has me on my KNEES fr. i’m aware that “the guy that should not be named rn” and dan heng know each other. they just don’t know each other in this story.
it is a normal day in the xianzhou lufou, with the clear, sunny skies shining with glory.
along with a great number of cycranes soaring in the skies and the residents’ chattering the day away, xianzhou lufou is clearly a nation specializing in business. new ships arrive at the docks of xianzhou lufou as well, dropping off raw materials and such. starskiffs also does the same, picking up materials from xianzhou lufou and shipping them to a different places around the world. trade is one of the many reasons why the xianzhou lufou businesses flourish.
although it is the complete opposite in sclaegorge waterscape, a location that is a part of xianzhou lufou. this place is mostly secluded and not many people go here. however, it is a place that withholds xianzhou’s history. it is the place where dan feng was reincarnated into dan heng, the person he is now.
at the moment, dan heng is meditating near a pond in scalegorge waterscape, its own quietness and tranquility is pleasant to him. the sounds of water rippling from a nearby waterfall is also relaxing to listen to.
dan heng recalls how he and bailu explored many different parts of xianzhou lufou to discover more lore about dan feng, his past incarnation. he has to stand in the shadow of dan feng for the rest of his life, but he has come to accept this fact. it is something he can’t change, however, he is aware that he is his own person. this new revelation has unlocked a new perspective of his life. for once, he is alright with how his life is heading right now.
while he was meditating, he notices a familiar figure in the distance. or perhaps, he senses a similar feeling that he knows all too well. in other words, he is acknowledging their presence. when he opens his eyes and observes his surroundings, he sees you. however, you don’t seem to notice him yet.
why is that the case?
well, that’s because you were communicating with someone, that someone being another guy. someone that dan heng doesn’t entirely know. for some reason, he has a strong urge to protect you from this man, especially when this man is carrying a large coffin.
hearing you laugh because of what the unknown man has said caused an uncomfortable jab in his chest. seeing you smile because of another reason besides him makes him feel anxious and uneasy. he tries to meditate again to calm down his frantic mind, but the thought of you being with another guy makes him shake in his boots.
is he jealous? no way. he trusts you enough to know that you wouldn’t cheat behind his back. so why does he feel so tense when he sees you with this guy? he figures that it is one of your colleagues, but you two seem closer than that.
in fact, this guy is far more handsome than he is. with his luscious golden hair and his light green eyes. it’s only natural that he feels…anxious about this, right?
he’s afraid of losing you after all. he loves you too much to let you go.
and so, while you were casually conversing with this tall, handsome guy, you suddenly feel something wrapped around your waist protectively. looking down for a second, you see a turquoise-colored tail that you know all too well.
the guy that you were talking to was also astonished and confused by dan heng’s sudden appearance. he seems intrigued though as if he is aware that he knows who dan heng is.
looking back up at dan heng, you raise an eyebrow at dan heng. it’s like you’re silently asking him what is he doing, completely unaware of how tense he is right now. in fact, you are slightly taken aback by his sudden appearance as well since he just appears out of nowhere. you didn’t even hear his footsteps!
your guy friend introduces himself politely.
“greetings, kind sir. i’m luocha, a merchant from a foreign land.” he does a polite bow as well to express how genuine he is.
“you’re more than a merchant, luocha. your expertise on herbal medicine is fascinating.” you comment, a bit amused that luocha is actually introducing himself to dan heng. dan heng knows that you’re just being nice by praising him like that, but that statement made him a little insecure, deep down.
“you’re not wrong, i am skilled in herbal medicine and help those in need.” luocha chuckles, he nods in agreement. you only sigh and tell your boyfriend that you are helping luocha collect some herbs for pharmaceutical purposes.
dan heng slightly becomes less tense when you clarified luocha's statement. perhaps dan heng is still iffy about luocha, but he trusts you enough that luocha is telling the truth.
luocha then briefly tells you that he will see you later because he has some other matters to attend to. it seems like he knows that he is making dan heng uncomfortable for some unknown reason. he’s being considerate. in addition, luocha has a hunch that dan heng was silently telling him that you belong to him.
after all, he knows that vidyaharas are loyal, but territorial creatures.
when luocha leaves with his giant coffin, you also tell him your farewell. the grip from dan heng’s tail tightens a little, as if he doesn’t want you going anywhere right now. noticing this, you wonder why dan heng is so tense around luocha.
giving him a hug, you want to soothe his nerves. dan heng, a bit taken aback by this, immediately calms down when he feels your warmth and closeness.
you always know how to calm his anxieties. however, he is still insecure, but he decides that he will keep them quiet. he thinks that he shouldn’t worry your pretty little head about it.
his tail wraps around your body in multiple ways, entrapping you in his tail like a warm blanket. his tail is always very gentle and comfortable to you. the end of his tail starts ticking your cheek. you can feel how fluffy it is.
dan heng hugs you back, but his arms hug you such a way that he is protecting you from danger, even though there isn’t anything dangerous in scalegorge waterscape right now.
it’s like he is telling others to back off, just like what he did to luocha. without you noticing, he was staring down at luocha in the most subtle way possible. perhaps that is the real reason why luocha left. but you wouldn’t know that, would you? he thinks that it is only natural that he wants to protect you because he cherishes you deeply. this isn’t entirely wrong, is it?
you are his. he is yours. makes sense, right?
“where did you come from, dan heng?” you ask dan heng out of the blue, he did just pop out of nowhere while you were walking around xianzhou lufou with luocha.
“i do come to scalegorge waterscape sometimes. after all, it’s a place that holds many memories of my past life. i just saw you with luocha while i was meditating.” dan heng explains. it makes sense. dan heng then tightens his hug around you, not wanting to let you go yet.
“do you know why luocha carries that coffin everywhere? who is in that coffin?” dan heng then asks you a question, a bit tense about what you are going to say. you raise your eyebrows at this question, not even considering the fact why luocha is carrying a coffin in the first place.
“you know, i never thought of that.” you said. dan heng looks at you with one of his eyebrows raising now, a bit surprised that you didn’t think of that. dan heng then looks a little cautious, his expression looks genuinely concerned.
“i have a feeling that luocha is more than he meets the eye.” dan heng says with a hint of caution. “you should just avoid him at all costs, [your name]. what if he hurts you?” he adds.
“well, luocha can also be a mortician, which is why he is carrying that coffin around.” you exclaim. that’s the most logical explanation, but dan heng is still tense about this.
he didn’t like that you are friends with luocha. he doesn’t even trust luocha right now. is he being understandably cautious or overly paranoid? whatever it is, he doesn’t like the idea of you hanging around with luocha.
“a merchant, a doctor, and a mortician? can someone have that many occupations?”
“that’s a fair argument,” you replied. rubbing your chin in thought, you think about other reasons why luocha would carry a coffin around everywhere.
“[your name], i think you should just stay away from him for now on. i don’t trust him.”
“now you just sound jealous.” you respond with a hint of playfulness in your tone.
“i’m not jealous. i’m just making sure my girlfriend stays safe.” dan heng says.
“sure, keep telling yourself that.” you said, your teasing tone clearly distinct in your voice.
dan heng sighs in frustration, realizing that he can’t really change your mind. maybe he is jealous, but would he admit it to your face? no.
“i’m not jealous, i swear.”
“are you sure? would you like me to provide evidence that led me to this conclusion?”
burying his face into your shoulder, his cheek gently nuzzles with the skin of your neck. his cyan horns are close to your face now, seeing how sturdy they look up close. his horns emit a soft turquoise colored light. it’s barely noticeable right now, but it is there.
“that’s not necessary. i am just afraid of losing you, dear.”
“so you are jealous?”
“good riddance.” he sighs again and his turquoise colored tail continues to embrace you warmly. his arms are still around you too. after all, this is a very comfortable position to dan heng. you are always a good person to hug thanks to your soft skin and your gentle nature. in fact, the hug becomes more firmer and gentle, as if he doesn’t want to let you go out of his sight.
lightly chuckling in amusement, you rub dan heng’s back softly.
“your response just revealed your answer, honey,” you said gently. good aeons, dan heng loves it when you refer to him as cute nicknames like that.
“it’s only natural that i want to protect who i love though.” dan heng retorts back. you hum in thought, knowing that is a good explanation.
you are a gemstone that is more precious to a diamond, a gemstone that outshines the other gemstones. you are the only gemstone he has eyes on. you are perfect in his eyes. he is lucky that he found you first.
you are his and he is yours.
no one else will take you away from him, and no one else will take him away from you.
after all, you are his prized possession.

[Ch. 1] ● [Ch. 2] ● [Ch. 3]
Arriving back in Sabaody caused you to take a deep breath while you watched the various people from the shoreline. Finally, you were going to see your crew again, and though you had been so welcomed by the kunoichi village and were grateful to them, you couldn't wait to see your found family again.
You couldn't wait to see Sanji again.
Promising to keep in touch with your temporary home, you left the kunoichi who had brought you back to Sabaody and started making your way towards Shakky's bar, watching the vivre card in your hand to keep you from getting lost.
Every now and then though, you'd catch sight of blond hair and have to do a double take, making sure you weren't completely passing by Sanji, only to be fully disappointed when you saw it wasn't him. You'd even see people with orange and blue hair, wondering if it was Nami or Franky, once again disappointed to see it wasn't either of them.
You were, however, beyond excited once you finally saw one of your crewmates, shouting to them and running to hug them.
“Robin!!”
You threw your arms around her while Robin laughed and greeted you. You were the first person she'd seen as well, having the same problem where she saw people that looked like your other crewmates but weren't them.
“I wonder who else might be here.” You thought aloud while walking with Robin to Shakky's bar, anxious to see the rest of your crew.
“Well, Brook is definitely here. He's hosting a concert.”
“Oooh yeah! I've got one of his TDs, it's not bad,” you grinned a bit at the thought, “think he'd sign it for me?”
“I'm sure he'd be delighted to.”
You both laughed a bit, before you saw another head of blond hair, stopping and turning quickly to see if it was him. When you saw it wasn't, your shoulders slumped and Robin gave you a smile.
“Looking for someone?”
You were quite obvious about it, even you knew that.
So you turned back around, smiled, and linked your arm with Robin's before continuing onward.
“Just the love of my life.”
You and Robin laughed, despite you're being serious, talking about your two years apart on your way to Shakky's. You'd see Sanji soon, whether once you got back to Sunny or while you were on Sabaody.
You'd see him soon.
+!+
"What, the moss head was the first one here?!"
Shakky laughed and nodded at Sanji's surprise. "Franky arrived ten days ago, but left to go check your ship."
Duval bragged about how he and his crew protected Sunny, while Rayleigh reassured Sanji his coating job was perfect, the Sunny was fine, and you'd all be able to leave for Fishman Island as soon as you were ready. Ignoring Duval, Sanji was more than glad to hear Nami had made it to Sabaody and had gone shopping a few days ago, then Usopp arrived three days prior, and Chopper did so as well, while Brook had a concert that day. The only ones left had been himself, Luffy, Robin, and of course, you.
Hearing you hadn't arrived yet slightly concerned Sanji, he'd expected you to arrive much sooner, maybe even before Zoro, but definitely before you all were mentally scheduled to meet up. He knew you'd be fine, he trusted you and knew how strong you were, but still Sanji was worried your ride to Sabaody may have been late. Luffy would never leave without everyone there, but it sure would be easier if you had a way to communicate that you were near.
"Have you…heard from [Y/N]...maybe?"
Smiling slightly, Shakky shook her head no and watched as Sanji slumped down a bit hearing that. "Sadly no, I haven't heard from your girlfriend."
"W-What. How–"
"You aren't exactly subtle with that lovesick look on your face, young man."
She laughed a bit at him, watching as Sanji stood up from the bar and excused himself, saying he was going to search for ingredients to stock up the Sunny's fridge for when you all left. The whole time his face was bright red and Shakky knew she had guessed right. You and Sanji were practically hanging off each other the whole time you were in Sabaody two years ago, she just knew you were together from the little bit of time you'd been around.
"What a lovestruck cutie."
+!+
"Was that…Sanji?"
"Where?!"
Smiling at your antics, Robin let you hide behind her and look around for your lover, although she wasn't entirely sure why you were hiding. She knew the two of you were together and in love, maybe you were just nervous about not seeing him in two years. You had ended up cutting your hair while you were training, deciding it would be better for fighting. You had changed your outfit to a well fitted tank top and loose, knee length shorts with your basic ninja sandals (like from Naruto ok). You were sure Sanji would love your new look, but it made you nervous to think about seeing him again.
Hopefully the two years apart hadn't made him rethink your relationship or anything.
"Rayleigh, Shakky!"
"Aah, Robin and [Y/N], you're both here!"
Robin nodded while you stepped out from behind her and waved.
"You both just missed Sanji."
"Oh, how unfortunate." Looking over at you, Robin gave you a knowing smile and you did the same, your nerves calming down just a bit. You may have missed out on seeing him just then, but maybe it was for the better. You two would see each other again soon enough, more than likely unable to stay away from each other or keep your hands to yourselves (not in a sexual way you pervs) for a while once you did see each other.
You and Robin stayed for a bit to catch up with Rayleigh and Shakky, thanking Duval and his crew for their help in protecting Sunny as well as they could, before the two of you decided to separate for a bit. Robin would head right for Sunny, but you wanted to do some shopping for some clothes and to maybe find Sanji. When you were in Sabaody last, you'd barely had a chance go look at the vendor stalls before the events with Camie and the Celestial Dragons, and then being sent off like the rest of your crew of course, you didn't have much of a chance to shop around and find anything you wanted.
You ended up buying a mini transponder snail and a few clothing items, deciding you should start heading towards Sunny when you saw a vendor selling kunai and shuriken, and you were instantly drawn in. You were running low on funds, but desperately wanted some new knives to use for any upcoming fights. You were so engrossed in looking and working out the math in your head on how many you could afford, that you nearly jumped three feet when someone wrapped an arm around you and told the vendor to let you get whatever you wanted.
If you hadn't recognized the voice, though slightly deeper than you remembered, and the smell of tobacco mixed with a familiar cologne, you would have whipped around and punched the guy in the face before placing a knife at his neck. Instead you turned around so quickly, coming face to face with the one person you'd been so anxious yet excited to see again.
"Sanji."
"Hey there, beautiful." Sanji gave you a smile and brushed a bit of your hair out of your face, noticing you were tearing up. "I've been looking for you!"
"Sanji!!" You threw your arms around his neck, letting him lift you up and spin you around while you cried out of happiness.  "I-It's you! You're r-really here!!"
"Of course I am! Couldn't leave you with that moss head to get lost or anything!"
Once he set you back down, you got to take a good look at Sanji and see how he'd changed over the last two years as well. He'd swapped his bangs from the left to the right, he'd grown out his goatee more, and even had a mustache now. Even if he still looked exactly the same as two years ago, you'd still think he was handsome and be in love with him.
Of course, Sanji still thought you were beautiful, he'd even say drop dead gorgeous now. He didn't have the chance to tell you so before you kissed him and hugged him again.
"I missed you so much."
"I missed you too, love," Sanji hugged you close, thankful that his two years of hell and running on the Kamabakka Queendom were finally over, and that he was back with you in his arms, "you have no idea how much."
+!+
After all of you were finally together again, you and Nami had spent so much time hugging and giggling over the boys being themselves, once you began your course down to Fishman Island, all you really wanted was to stay near Sanji. Knowing you were going to the land of mermaids, it worried you a little that Sanji might start rethinking your relationship, considering you were apart for two years.
You couldn’t have imagined that your crew would be separated once again, so quickly due to the volatile nature of the ocean depths. Waking up in Camie’s place a short while later, you were glad to see Luffy, Usopp, Chopper, and Sanji were all with you, being escorted elsewhere by your friend, until you met more mermaids who were close with Camie.
Sanji tried, he really did, to not let it get to him, especially with you around, to not fall over himself around the mermaids, unfortunately, despite it all, he still ended up nearly bleeding out from all the other pretty girls around. You chose to stay with him and Chopper after he’d been given a blood transfusion to keep him from dying, and once he woke up, Sanji was almost on the floor in front of you apologizing.
“I’m so sorry, my love! I’m such a fool of a man!”
“Uh, Sanji—”
“Please forgive me!! I love you more than anything!!”
Before he’s able to say much else, you take his face in your hands and shut him up with a kiss, allowing you both to get your thoughts straight before you say anything in response to his groveling. Honestly though, he should know you better by now.
“I’m not happy about the situation—”
“I’m so sor—”
“But, I’m not going to be mad at you anymore. You’ve apologized enough and I believe you’re really sorry,” you give Sanji a smile, before rubbing your nose against his and making his face turn bright red at the affection, “I’m sure you went through a lot while we were apart, so I’ll give you a pass this time.”
“Mon amour, you’re the only one I love that much.”
“Yeah, I know, so if you do that again, I’ll have to clean my kunai.”
“…oh.”
You laughed a bit at Sanji’s reaction, which made him relax and smile in return, before he kissed you again.
“I swear, you’re the only one for me.”
“And the same for me, cutie.”
+!+
After you’ve all helped to put a stop to Hordy Jones and Luffy prevented the ship Noah from destroying Fishman Island, you’re glad for a reprieve that turns into a party with food and drinks. Every member of your crew, all the Fishmen that can fit in the palace, had a blast and the party continued on for so long that you and Sanji had to step away for a few minutes alone.
Somehow, luckily, you found an empty closet that you could sneak into, finally getting some time alone after everything that happened. You started out just talking and holding each other, before Sanji started kissing you all over your face and making you giggle, every now and then quieting yourself if you heard footsteps. You were still trying to keep your relationship a secret, so Sanji understood you silencing your giggles for a moment wasn’t because of him, it was to keep someone from opening the door.
“Hey,” Sanji kissed your cheek again, smiling at your giggle while you gave him a questioning look, “What if…what if we told everyone?”
“Hm?”
“About us. I mean, its been a while and part of the crew knows already.”
“Sanj—”
“Only if you want to!” He kissed you again to make sure you knew he wasn’t going to force you to tell everyone if you weren’t ready. “We can wait until you want to, I just—”
“Sanji,” you have to take his face in your hands to make him stop before he rambles too much, forcing him to look at you as you smile at him, “I think it’s fine if we tell everyone. We’re both in this for the long haul, I don’t think they have to worry about us making things weird by breaking up or anything.”
“You’re sure?”
“Mm-hm!” You nod and give him another kiss, causing Sanji to hug you tightly. He really was a little worried you’d reject the idea, but if you tell everyone, it’ll make it easier. You won’t have to sneak around and keep everything to yourselves.
“I love you so much!”
“I love you too, Sanji!” You giggle when he starts to kiss you face again. Sanji really is the sweetest man you’ve ever met, you feel so lucky to have him as your boyfriend, maybe future husband and father to your children one day, if he wants that with you too.
Unfortunately you’re interrupted when someone opens the closet door, and the sigh is familiar enough that you feel your face heating up.
“Can you two stop being gross for one day?”
“Zoro!” You shouted while Sanji pulled away from you to give a glare to your swordsman. “What are you doing?!”
“I was looking for the bathroom!”
“This obviously isn’t it!!”

I Guess It's Different Cause You Love Him(Eddie Munson x Fem!Reader)
Tumblr media
warnings: fluff, angst, mentions of cheating, mentions of possible abuse, alcohol use, reader gets drunk, Eddie is weak for her word count: 1.4k pairings: Eddie Munson x Fem!Reader
Eddie hates your boyfriend. He does his best to be on his best behavior because he is your best friend, but Eddie knows you could do so much better than this fool. Still, he’ll bite his tongue and pretend to be supportive of this relationship. It just hurts when he watches the person he loves the most get shit all over.
Day after day, he sees the real you begin to disappear. The shine and glow of you fades as your boyfriend takes over more and more aspects of your life. Eddie wants to say something, but he’s so damn scared to lose you. He’s scared that if he tells you that this guy is bad for you that it’ll end up backfiring on you and you’ll only think that Eddie is jealous of your boyfriend.
And it hurts him so much to watch you begin to fade away. Your normally sunny smile is only half-assed these days. You were someone who would try decently well in school and in work, but now it would seem you’re doing so poorly. You even stopped coming to the Hellfire club meets, which ends up worrying everyone.
But you always try to pass it off as nothing. Eddie knows that you’ll barely open up to it because this asshole has got you convinced you’re happy. He sees how your boyfriend acts around you, especially when he thinks nobody else is around. Eddie sees the tired look in your eyes along with the heavy bags that begin to form under them. He sees the way you flinch whenever someone raises their voice just a little too loud.
This all culminates one night when someone at school begins passing around the rumor that your boyfriend has been cheating on you. At first you try not to believe it, but the more you hear it from people who give you sad and pitiful looks, it becomes obvious that this isn’t just a rumor. You’ve been played and you’re so embarrassed. You don’t even know who to turn to because you’ve just alienated yourself with the help of that asshole. You’re way too afraid to turn to Eddie, the man who you trust in the most. You’ve been hurting him the most, you realize as all of this comes crashing down.
The bar near your home allows you inside even if you aren’t quite of age. You know the patrons and the bartenders. They can tell you’re not doing well. So the bartender pours you a drink, which soon turns into two…then three…then four.
By the time you’re five drinks in, you’re more than tipsy. You’re absolutely drunk. You’re dancing to whatever song they’ve got playing on the jukebox, but it isn’t healing your heart. It won’t heal your heart ever. There’s not much that ever could. You find yourself sitting on a stool at the bar, your head in your hands as you try to steady yourself.
“You got someone to come pick you up, dear?” The bartender asks.
You’re about to say no, but then you remember Eddie. You nod your head and the bartender gives you money for the payphone in the corner of the bar. You sway as you walk over there, and you lean against the wall to steady yourself. The phone feels heavy in your hands, but you press it to your ear and you put the coin in the slot. It surprises yourself to be able to remember Eddie’s number while you’re in this state. After a few rings, you feel like crying because someone answers.
“Munson residence, Eddie speaking,” Eddie says on the other end, a mocking tone to his voice.
You half-sob, “Eddie can you…can you come pick me up?”
Immediately he’s freezing on the spot, worried about what’s going on with you. He had heard those rumors today too but he didn’t want to hurt your feelings. He had wanted you to come to him for comfort.
“Babe, what’s the matter?”
“Come pick me up. I’m at the bar.”
You tell him the address and beg him to hurry. He can tell you’re not feeling well at all. So he quickly gets into his van and drives over to the bar. Once he arrives, he spots you just sitting outside. You’re obviously drunk and he feels so sorry for you.
“Eds…” you moan softly, clutching your head in pain.
Eddie is quick to pick you up, allowing you to lean on him. He’s not even really sure what to say just yet, so instead he focuses on getting you buckled into your seat.
Then he begins driving the moment he’s back into the driver’s seat. You moan in pain and you begin to cry. It’s breaking his heart to see you like this. Eddie feels guilty because he knows he should have been there for you. He should have done more for you.
“Honey,” he says softly. “Don’t worry. Things will be okay.”
You shake your head, “No…he made a fool of me.”
Eddie feels his heart wrench when you say this. It’s painful to see you hurting this way. So he drives you back to his trailer, knowing you’ll have a safe space to recover from being this drunk. Once you two arrive, he unbuckles your seatbelt and he guides you inside the trailer. You are so thankful that his uncle isn’t home right now. You don’t want him to think poorly of you.
“Easy there,” Eddie says as you begin to stumble. He’s guiding you towards his bedroom.
As the alcohol burns in your veins even more and your mind gets hazy, you allow Eddie to lay you on the bed. First he takes off your shoes, then he begins to remove your jeans. He takes off your shirt, gently caressing your shoulders before pulling on his old Iron Maiden shirt on you. Then you watch as he leaves you on the bed for a few moments.
When Eddie reappears, you’re so happy to see him. He’s got a bottle of water in his hands. He helps you sit up, and you relish in the feelings of his warm hands on your skin. He holds you close as he brings the bottle to your lips.
“Drink so slowly, honey.”
You try your best to take his advice, but the water just tastes so refreshing. Soon he’s pulling it away from you and he helps you lay back on the pillows. He pulls the covers up over you and he’s about to leave when you grab his hand and whine a little.
“Stay with me,” you pout. “Please, Eddie.”
His heart skips a beat when he sees how pitiful you are. You’re a sight for sore eyes, but he still thinks you’re the most beautiful woman he’s ever laid eyes on. So without thinking too much, he shrugs off his jacket and kicks off his shoes. He slides under the covers with you, and immediately you cling to him. It feels natural to have you back in his arms like this.
“I’m such a fucking dumbass,” you mutter under your breath.
“No, you’re not. Stop thinking that way. That guy is such an asshole for playing you like that.”
Eddie thinks you might be too drunk to understand what he’s saying, but your heart flutters when he defends your honor. You cling a little tighter to him, and he presses the softest kiss to the top of your head.
“Why are you treatin’ me so good?” you ask, your words a bit slurred.
Eddie sighs, and he knows you might not remember this in the morning. “Cause I love ya,”
Your heart flutters again and you snuggle even closer. You know maybe he doesn’t mean it in the way you need it, but you still love hearing it from him. You smile sweetly at him, and he leans in to kiss your lips so softly.
“You’re my girl,” he finally admits. “And…I couldn’t even protect you.”
You sigh softly, “Eds…I don’t blame you for this. You are so wonderful.”
You two share another kiss, and he caresses your face so softly. You don’t even really know why you were dating that asshole…especially when you could have had this the entire time.
“Sleep now,” Eddie commands. “Sleep now and we’ll talk more tomorrow, okay?”
You nod your head, “Kay…night night, Eddie.”
He holds you close, vowing to himself he’ll never ever let anything else hurt you like this. Never again will you know pain.

red handed | yandere!konig
THIS WAS A REQUEST BUT IT GOT FUCKING DELETED IM SO SORRY TO WHOEVER REQUESTED IT I MADE THIS EXTRA SMUTTY JUST FOR YOU I HOPE YOU FIND THIS
summary: Konig is crazy possessive and jealous. You become too close to a guy and he doesn't like that, so he takes matters into his own hands
warning: female!reader, blood, murder, unprotected p in v, mommy kink, breeding kink, knives, not proof read yet
Konig kept you in the house always. he never trusted anyone to not try and get at you. ever. you were gorgeous, his ideal woman. and he was not going to let you get away, not that easy. anytime you wanted to leave he'd always begin to cry. "why do you want to leave me libeling." he'd cry, gripping onto your waist, pulling you back onto the couch. he'd cry and cry and cry until you told him you were joking, even though you weren't. he'd wipe his eyes and look up at you. "I dont like that joke mommy, you know that." he'd say, going back to hugging you.
you never questioned why he acted the way he did. he as always like this, and something about it attracted you to him. the way he'd call you mommy, but tell you that you couldnt leave. boss you around. "mommy go make me food, im hungry." he'd say, letting releasing your boob from his mouth. yea, that was another thing he aways did. anytime you both were cuddling, he'd pull your boob out from your shirt, placing it in his mouth and lay on your chest. it was cute.
whenever you both would have sex, he'd boss you around to. "get on your knees mommy, gonna fuck that throat." and he always did. he'd always whimper how good you treat him, how your only his. your contact with family was limited as well. he didnt have any family to talk to, he only had you. and he only wanted you to have him. of course your family had tried to help you get out that relationship, but you couldnt leave Konig. no matter how controlling or crazy he was, you loved him. and he loved you. but, he loved you a bit too much.
"mommy im going to go to the store now. do you need anything?" he'd ask, placing the pink glittery collar on your neck, tying the rope of it to the coffee table. you had grown accustom to this now. you actually enjoyed it. especially since he did it to make sure you would never escape while he was gone. "mm some ice cream?" you asked, looking up at him. he smiled and nodded, leaning down to kiss you. "anything for you mommy. ill be back." he grabbed the keys before turning back to you. "you better still be there when I come back." he said before leaving the house.
and you did. for a bit. it was a sunny day outside, windy. it was the perfect weather. you hadn't seen outside in so long. he always had the patio door locked. "you can escape if I leave it open." he told you. but you wouldn't escape. you were happy where you were right now. but that didnt mean you dont miss the outside. you looked at the TV, watching the girl run around outside, her boyfriend following her. they both looked so happy. why couldnt that be you and Konig?
you knew Konig would be gone for a while. you both lived about 15 miles from a store. plus traffic. you had a good hour and a half before he'd come home. so, with all the strength you had, you began to untie the knot. he never made them too tight. he didnt wanna kill you. he just wanted to keep you still.
you had gotten the knot undone and watched the knot fall to the floor. you swallowed before standing slowly, looking to the front door. you hadn't been outside in so long. and Konig always made it seem like it was the worst out there. "people will murder you mommy. they walk around with knives, guns." he'd tell you every time you look at the door. one time, he actually got angry at you for talking about going outside and tied you to the table, keeping you there for two days. of course he fed you, gave you water. "I dont want to do this but you cant leave me mommy. ever."
so justifiably, you were a bit hesitant. but you made your way to the door, putting on his big shoes, since you no longer had a pair of your own. you gripped the knob tightly, turning it slowly. when you opened the door, the wind blew so softly in your face. it was nice. the sun was out, birds were chirping. there wasn't too many cars outside. you had completely forgotten what it looked like outside your neighborhood. you took a step down, closing the door behind you.
"hey! haven't seen you in a while!" a deep voice called out. you jumped and tried around, meeting eyes with your neighbor, Jackson. "oh hi.. uh.." "Jackson." he laughed, putting the hose down. he jogged over to you, looking at you with a questioning look. "uh whats with the.. collar." he asked, meeting your worried gaze all over. your hand ran over the collar, remembering what Konig said before he left. "u-uh i.. uhm.." you were quickly growing panicked and Jackson caught on almost immediately.
"sit down. I can take it off of you." he said gently, grabbing your hand slowly, trying his hardest not to scare you. you sat on the concrete steps, watching his every move. "d-do you have a gun?" you asked, remembering all the stories Konig had told you. Jackson laughed, looking up at you. but when he realized you were serious, he cleared his throat. "no why..why would I have a gun on me?" he asked. he leaned in close, his hands reaching the back of your neck to undo the collar. his lips were super close, but he never placed them onto yours.
"there." he smiled, moving away. you felt your neck relax, the collar in his hands. " I dont know what Konig has going on in there. he never talks to anyone. ever. I do get worried because you know, nobody can even see inside the house." he said, looking to the door. "does he just keep you in there?" he asked after a moment of silence. you didnt answer. ".. you know. my sister, she was in a relationship like yours. abusive boyfriend. I can get her to talk to you she's actually in th-" "he doesn't abuse me. he treats me really well. he just.. gets scared that ill leave." you said, looking up and down the street. you had no clue what his car looked like, but you looked regardless.
"is that why you have a collar on?" he asked, leaning forward to meet your gaze. you remained silent. "I like things like that." you finally said, maintaining eye contact. he sighed and pursed his lips before standing. " come to my house. I can give you some food. water. whatever you need." he said, reaching his hand out. you looked at it for a moment before looking down. " I have a cat. two." he said, catching your attention. "cats?"
he nodded, a smile forming on his lips. "two cats. it can be for a bit. before he comes home." he said. you were hesitant, looking back into the street. what would happen if Konig came back and saw you weren't in your usual spot? or even in the house? what would happen if he saw you in another mans house? "hey. it'll be for 15 minuets. max. then you can go back. I just wanna make sure you got food and water." he said, kneeling down in front of you. why did he think you were getting abused? you said you weren't. "I already ate today but.. can I play with your cats?" you asked, taking his hand that still hung out. he smiled and nodded, pulling you up. "of course. their names are snowy and rain. one is super white and the other is grey." he said, helping you to his home.
every time Konig left you did this. and you have yet to be caught. it was nice, having a whole new friend. he was super kind, a completely different person than Konig. but you still felt bad for lying to Konig. you weren't cheating, you knew that. but it was nice to make a friend and talk to someone outside those four walls. "I found the ice cream you like by the way, ill bring it to you whenever you come back next." he smiled, walking you back to your house. " oh you didnt have to." you said, stepping onto the first step.
you turned to him, smiling up at him. " yea but.. I guess I just care too much about the small things you say." he said, a soft smile on his face. you looked down, feeling awkward at how close he was. " I uhm.. I wanna take you away from him. you deserve to see the outside, your not some pet." he said, grabbing your chin to lift your head softly. his eyes wandered to your lips, swallowing. " you deserve better." he mumbled, leaning in slow.
you backed away, looking down to your feet. "Jackson im happy here.. I like being in there like that." you said softly. he sighed, lifting your chin again. " why cant you see hes abusing you? ive seen what abuse is before please just-" before he could finish his sentence his body was yanked back, an angry, no. not angry. a furious Konig standing in front of you now. you immediately began to feel dizzy, like you were about to puke. he looked into your eyes, his eye twitching. Jackson groaned below you both, rubbing his throat where his collar was pulled.
"K-Konig I j-just w-" he stepped over Jackson, gripping your wrist and turning you around. he opened the door from behind you, shoving you inside. he closed the door behind him, watching you walk backwards. "mommy who was that? why did you leave? I told you not to leave." he said, walking towards you, long and powerful strides. " h-hes a friend I promise. I just w-wanted to go outside it g-got hot in here." you said, tripping over pure air, falling to the floor. you hit your head on the ground, gripping it. he stood, watching you below him. " am I not good enough? he could have killed you mommy. people have guns. and knives." he said, voice flat. "he doesn't have a gun Konig.. he told me." you replied, wiping your eyes from the impact.
he grabbed your arm, yanking you up. he dragged you into the bedroom, shoving you to the bed. you looked up at him and saw tears in his eyes. "mommy am I not good enough for you? do you not trust me?" he cried, wiping his eyes. you didn't know what to do. you were scared, but hurt. you didn't want to hurt him. you just wanted new friends. "konig I just-" he took the photo of you both on the night stand, throwing it across the room. you jumped, looking down. " mommy you-you broke your promise. you promised you'd stay." he cried, walking over to you.
he pushed you on the bed, laying on top of you. he wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you in tight. "i..i'm sorry." you said, still confused on what to do. he sniffled into your shirt. "promise..promise you won't talk to him. every again." he said, looking up at you. of course you didn't want to stop. you had made a friend. a nice person. but Konig was much more important, you couldn't lose him. so you nodded, softly saying 'okay'. he smiled and nodded, laying back on your head. "ill even make sure of it.." he whispered, quietly enough for you to not hear.
__
you hadn't realized it, but you had fallen asleep shortly after Konig telling you to never leave again. you also woke up to an empty bed. rubbing your eyes, you turned to the alarm clock on his side of the bed. it read 9:20 PM. "how long was I out.." you mumbled. shuffling off the bed, you began to look for your boyfriend, calling misname out softly. you didnt know if he was still mad, or if he was somewhere taking some drastic measure to make you stay in this house with him like boarding up the windows or something.
you yawned, walking down the hall. "konig.." you called out again, peeking your head into the bathroom before making you way into the living room. no lights were on and that terrified you. Konig was not one to leave you alone without telling you. you switched the living room light on, eyes landing right onto Konig's phone. you grabbed it, opening it. he had given you his password for his phone in case you wanted to play games while he made you dinner. he trusted you not to do anything stupid.
just as you were about to explore the rest of your home, you heard a scream from outside. a male scream. you jumped at first, but then turned to the patio door. it was dark outside, the only light coming from the cheap, old street lights. you swallowed and walked over to the patio, pulling the curtains back a bit more to see what was going on. the first thing you saw, was your Jackson's front door wide open, the light from inside his house illuminating the front half of his home. then, your eyes scanned the distance from his house to yours, landing on a figure only 2 feet from where your patio was.
the screaming was no more, it came and went very quickly. but you couldnt stop your hands from shaking as you watched this tall figure's arms move up and slam back down. you didnt have the best hearing, but you were sure you heard some sort of squelching every time this figures arms went down. you felt like you were going to be sick. even more so, you were scarred this man was going to come for you next. Konig wasn't here to protect you. you'd die in this house alone, cut up into small enough pieces to eat.
you felt like a deer in headlights, watching your neighbor be stabbed to death. and it lasted quite a while. the more you watched, the more scared you got. but then, you heard the figures voice. " that'll keep you away." he said, or you ended up making out. the phone in your hand dropped when you realized that figure wasn't some random murderer. it was Konig.
he stood from his kneeled position, wiping his hands on his shirt. he walked over the now limp body on the floor, grabbing a shovel from beside him. you watched as Konig began to shovel into the dirt, obviously making a grave for this poor man. well, was it a poor man? you tried to feel sad. and you think a part of you did. I mean, you just watched someone get fucking murdered. but at the same time, you sorta liked how Konig was so protective and crazy over you.
of course killing someone may be extreme in any case of jealousy, but seeing how far he would go just to keep you with him made your thighs clench together. seeing how he truly believed with his whole heart that you were only his, nobody else can touch you or even be close to you. you know you should feel scared of him at this time, but you didnt. you felt honored, and honestly safe. you had a man who would do anything to make you feel safe, protected. and he wasn't going to ever let you go. you felt genuinely loved and wanted. but maybe that was the months and months of Konig's personality and his own craziness getting to you.
and so, you watched as he dragged Jackson into the hole, quickly covering him back up with dirt. you were a bit scared Konig would be caught, but that was a situation for later. right now, more than anything, you wanted to show him just how much hes made you needy for him.
he patted the area down, trying to make it look less suspicious before making his way back to the patio. his eyes landed on yours once he came up to the door, the shovel in his hand dropping. you slowly slid the door open, looking up at him. it was silent. he didnt say anything, but the tears were not shy of coming out his eyes. " mommy im so.. sorry. did you see-" " everything. I did." you said, looking at his bloody neck and face. his hands were no different, if anything they were worse. his clothes were stained red as well.
he dropped to the floor, burying his head in his hands. sobs escaped from him, loud sobs. " konig come inside please, you'll wake the neighborhood." you said, dragging him by his arms into the house. it obviously took a bit, given his large size, but he eventually was inside, back pressed against the patio door. you sighed and sat in front of him, taking his bloody, shaky hands from his face. " konig please..please look at me." you said, wrapping your hands around two of his large fingers. he sniffled and looked up at you, the blood from his face dripping down.
"i..God.. I liked what you did." you mumbled, looking to his chest. he sniffled once more, looking at you. " what?" he asked, his voice still shaky from being caught. you sighed and scooted forwards onto his lap, looking in his eyes. his watery, doe eyes. he was so beautiful, even when he was covered in blood. " I like how protective you are. how jealous you get. I love it, actually. I love all of it." you said, cupping his face. your thumb slipped the mis of tears and blood away, giving him a soft smile. "really? oh mommy thats such good news." he smiled, pulling you into a hug. you giggled and hugged him back, biting your bottom lip.
of course your main goal was to calm him down, but your second goal was to get him to fuck you. you couldn't stop the throbbing feeling from between your thighs. as he told you how much he loved you into your chest, not even thinking about fucking you, you began to grind yourself slowly, subtly on his thighs. and at first he simply thought you were re adjusting yourself. but when tiny little moans began to come from you, and your hips moved just a bit faster, he quickly caught onto what you were doing. he smiled into your chest, biting the shirt you had on.
" mommy.." he cooed, hand finding your ass. he gripped it, dragging your hips faster. " are you horny right now?" he asked, looking up at you from your shirt. you were embarrassed. I mean he just killed a man and here you were trying to get off. but you couldnt stop the 'yes' that came out of you. he smiled and leaned back onto the patio door, the blood on him only adding to the sensation you felt.
his thigh began to gently bounce below you, his eyes going from innocent to dark in a matter of seconds. he watched as your hips moved faster on his thigh, watching your body lean forward. your mouth fell ajar, the prettiest of whimpers coming from you as you moved yourself perfectly on his thigh, giving your clit the right amount of attention. " mommy likes seeing her baby boy kill for her isn't that right?" he whispered, his free hand working up your shirt. you felt the cold blood on his hands as he gripped your breast, his fingers quick to roll your nipple in between his fingers.
you nodded, looking down to see his thigh bounce faster, but not too fast. just enough to get you to the edge. " well your baby boy would kill for you any time mommy." he said, guiding your hips faster to match the pace of his thigh. he leaned in, his other hand still working on your nipple. " id kill a hundred men for you, just to keep you in this house. keep you here for me mommy. only me." your head fell into his neck, covering your forehead in blood. the knot in your stomach was slowly coming loose and he knew it just by the sounds of those pretty little whined you let slip from out of you.
"come on mommy let it go.. cum for me. cum for your good boy." he begged, a whine coming from him. the tent in his pants only made it harder for you to hold back your orgasm and before you knew it, your body tensed up, sinful sounds escaping your lips. he moaned at the wet spot that formed on his thigh, bleeding (hehe) through his thin sweatpants. you clothed onto him, feeling your whole body shake as you came down, his thigh slowing down to help yo pride out your high. when you pulled away, he groaned at the blood that was dripping down your face.
" ride me mommy, come on." he said, his hands moving quickly to the waistband of his pants, pulling them down. you fell off his lap, but quickly went back to your place. the night shorts you had on, he slid to the side, exposing your wet, dripping cunt. he whined at the sight, bitting his bottom him. " well come on mommy its your dick. ride it." he said, looking up at you. you wasted little time in positioning yourself over his tip, sliding down. you wanted to go slow, get yourself used to the feeling again, but Konig had other plans.
his hands gripped your hips and shoved you down, his head thrown back against the glass, a pained whimper leaving your lips. he raised your hips, looking down at the small amount of blood on his dick. your blood. he moaned at the sight before slamming you back down. your hands gripped his shoulders, your eyes squeezing shut. he gave you no time to adjust to him, but that was also something that turned you on. "come on mommy ride it. show me how much of a good boy I was for killing him." he whined, slapping your face gently to open your eyes.
your hips began to move up and down, slowly at first. you gasped as his size continued to stretch your cunt out, slowly picking up the pace afterwards. his hands gripped onto your hips harder, a whimper leaving his lips every time you went back down on him. his eyes were squeezed shut, his mouth left open slightly. you looked at him and as badly as you wanted to kiss him, you didnt want the blood in your mouth. " oh mommy your..doing so fucking good~ please tell me im a good boy" he whined, looking down at you as you bounced up and down, up and down.
" y-yours such a good..good boy baby. such a good boy" you cooed, adjusting yourself so you now were in a squatting position, feet pressed flat to the ground. he moaned as your praised him, the switch in position making his hips buck up. your own head fell back as you felt him reach your cervix, but your hips never stopping. " your my mommy.. all fucking mine." he growled, wrapping his arms around your waist and pulling you into his chest. his hips thrusted up into you, fast and deep. his balls slapped right at the bottom of your arse, adding to the already sloppy sounds of his dick moving in and out your cunt.
your hands pressed onto the patio door, your mouth left wide open. both of you let out moans and whimpers with each thrust of his hips, not only the feeling of love but the feeling of possessiveness floating in the air. " fuck your so tight mommy, love fucking your cunt. only I can right? only y-your baby..boy can?" he asked, gripping your tighter. you nodded quickly, trying your hardest to get words out but they never came. he slid out and pushed you off him, making your body fall back. he dragged you back to him by your ankles, hovering over your body. he gripped his base and slammed it right back into where it belonged, hips jutting into yours all over.
his hands gripped your calves, pulling your legs over his shoulders. your back arched off the cold floor, hands gripping the coffee table right behind you. " all m-mine.. " he whimpered, his head dropping into your chest, your body folding forward more. " im yours b-baby.. forever." you moaned, eyes rolling to the back of your head. he picked his head up, looking down at you. he loved seeing you react to him fucking you, loved seeing the way your wet lips were parted, the blood on your face dripping down to your neck. " gonna make you fucking pregnant mommy. gonna be mine- fuck - forever. you understand?" he moaned, his hand finding your throat and gripping it.
you nodded, choking out a 'yes'. his looked down, watching your cunt form bubbled of your slick around his dick, the squelching sounds growing louder as his pace picked up. " fuck mommy~ this pussy is s-so good" he whined, his eyes crossing as he felt his orgasm reaching him. your hands gripped onto the table harder, mouth falling ajar. his thrusts began to jerk your own body forward, legs still around his shoulders. the knot that you felt moments ago was back, and it was coming fast.
" keep going Konig p-please.. im gonna c-cum!" you whimpered, looking down at where his dick slammed into yours. your own juices were running down your arse, coating the inside of your thighs. " im n-not gonna stop mommy I promise.. please cum" he moaned, his head dropping back into your chest, the hand the was on your throat quickly began to pull your boob out from under your shirt, his lips finding the nipple. his tongue ran circles over the nipple, bitting it and occasionally pulling at it.
the only words that came from your lips at this moment was 'Konig'. the only words coming from him were 'mommy'. you began to pulse around his dick, his thrusts becoming sloppy too. " hold it mommy.. gonna c-cum together so fucking hold it." he whined, going right back to sucking on your nipple. you clenched around him trying to hold back your orgasm. but the way he was ramming into your g spot, hitting your cervix so painfully well. it was hard. and it didnt help that his cute little whimpers were going more frequent.
however, he raised his head, looking down at you with hooded eyes and wet lips. " cum mommy, please cum all over me." he begged, his thrusts becoming sloppy. you nodded quickly, releasing the grip from your cunt. he looked down as he watched your cum spurt out of you, covering his lower half and chest with it. that was enough to set him over the edge. " oh fuck- mommy~" he whined, giving you two final, hard thrusts before his cum shot deep into you. his hands found your hips, gripping onto them as his body shook. tears dropped from his eyes, small gasps to accompany them.
his body fell onto yours, still shaking from the powerful orgasm youth experienced. it was silent for a bit, the sound of heavy breathing filling the air, you felt his cum begin to seep out you and so did he. he raised himself slowly, looking back down to thrust his hips into yours. gently tho, he too was completely fucked out. " gotta keep.. my cum in you mommy." he breathed out, lazily thrusting his hips back int you.
when he pulled out he reached over to you, pulling you just enough so he could lift you into his arms. he kissed your cheek, and then slipped your boob into his mouth for a moment. releasing it with a pop, he looked up at you. " lets shower. then, we look for new places to live." he smiled. you giggled and nodded, resting your head into his bloody chest, replaying in your head what just happened.
to whoever requested this I HOPE YOU LIKE IT! I have no idea what the hell happened to your request I just opened Tumblr and the original post I was going to post was gone so I hope you find this <3

 PART ONE - THE LIE.
The music was soft in the background for once, his friends laughter the loudest thing in the room. Bob couldn’t help but to laugh along with them as he took a swig of his third beer of the night, a little more than tipsy but not completely drunk. He knew he was a lightweight, and this was the only time he ever preferred to drink, in the comfort of his own home surrounded by people he trusted. His friends were all gathered around his coffee table, some of them on the couch, some of them sprawled on the floor as they laughed and goofed off, the NHL game they had all gathered to watch together no longer a top priority.
Bradley and Natasha had been talking about the blind dates they had been on recently, set up by each other, each of them pointing out the flaws in the others choosing with racious laughter as they knocked back their alcohol and made a mess of Bob’s coffee table as they playfully fought each other, Bradley flipping over the bowl of potato chips that was sat out as he kicked his leg across the table from the floor to hit his friend. Bob laughs at the scene, not minding the mess because the situation was just so funny and he was for once in his life, enjoying being in the moment.
“Look what you did, numbnuts! You spilled all the chips!” Hangman shouts, tossing his couch pillow at them from where he lay on the love seat across from Bob. Bradley catches it mid-air and tosses it back to Jake, a terrible throw and a clear enough window into how drunk he is because it doesn’t get any air and knocks clear into the row of open bud lights, knocking them over and causing what was left to slosh out onto the floor. Javy groans, slipping out of the chair he was sat in to pick up the bottles as Bob gets up to get a towel to sop up the wet beer from his outrageously expensive rug so his little shih tzu, Cosie wouldn’t go licking it up when he passed out tonight.
He was only gone for a few moments but by the time he came back the subject of dating had suddenly been turned to him. He shakes his head, trying not to think to hard about how he was way more than tipsy by that point because the whole room started to spin when he did that. “No, not dating right now.” He says, kneeling down to start cleaning up the mess as Javy comes back from throwing away the bottles.
Jake scoffs from next to him taking a long drag of his own beer, and Bob braces himself for whats coming next. “Of course not,” He says, a small bit of disdain in his tone, but Bob knew it was all just friendly teasing, even if it did hurt him. Even if he was so tired of constantly hearing from everyone about how he needed to get out into the dating pool. Truthfully, he was tired of being single, but he didn’t need these jack offs meddling in his love life the way Natasha had been doing with her blind dates with girlfriends she’d made off base. It just didn’t work out for him, it never did.
But god, he was tired of hearing it from Jake about how he was ‘too afraid of girls’ to actually go out and date one, they were grown ass adults, weren’t they? Why did it matter what he did with his personal life outside of work and the friend group? He didn’t like to date around, he liked relationships. Besides, he wasn’t afraid of girls either. That one was starting to piss him off, wither away at that self control that his mama swore he was born with too much of. Not that any of them needed to know that..so why then, did he feel like proving them all wrong?
He knew in the back of his drunk mind that his next choice of words was not a good one to make, and he had just dug himself into a terribly deep hole that would haunt him for the rest of his life (good god he would probably have to change placements if they ever fucking found out, or better yet, retire from the navy altogether). But Lord help him, he opened his mouth anyway and let the words out.
“I don’t think my girlfriend would like me seeing other people.” He says, taking a kind of sick pleasure in hearing Jake snort beer out of his nose as he sits up so quickly he falls off of the couch, his words catching the attention of his other friends too. “What?” He asks, looking around at all of their gaping faces. He regretted his lie immediately. “Is it so hard to picture me with a girlfriend? I am capable of getting one, you know.” A dig at Jake just for the fucking fun of it.
There was a long moment of silence before all of their voices were flooding his ears at once, questions coming from all directions. It was almost as if the news had shocked them sober.
What did I just do?
THE WEEK PREVIOUS-
Sunshine Y/L/N, was many things, a bitch, a whore, a liar, a psycho (all depending on which of her ex-boyfriends and family members you asked),..but a fool was not one of them. You were not foolish enough to let a man raise a hand to you and cower away and accept his apology because you thought you deserved it or because it would placate him. And so when the asshole you had been in the midst of arguing with because he swore to god that you were fucking the bouncer at work (you would never, you weren’t in to bald men who looked like broke versions of mr. clean) cocked his arm back and slapped you across the face so hard that blood splattered from your nose, you clenched a fist and let all hell break loose.
You had screamed, and screamed and screamed and had thrown anything that you could get hands on, drawing blood on his forehead as an empty flower vase shattered against the wall that she shared with her neighbor. “Look what you did, you crazy bitch!” He yelled, holding a hand to his forehead, offended that you had dared to retaliate against him.
You sucked in a deep breath, fists clenching. There was nothing you hated more than being called crazy. You were not crazy. You were not fucking crazy. “Get out.” You breathed, a surprisingly steady hand pointing towards the door that was being banged on from an outside source. The man looks at you as if you were a bull with three heads. “Are you deaf? I said get the fuck OUT!” You had bellowed, grabbing him by the collar of his shirt and dragging him to the door, it took all of three seconds to throw open the chain locking the door before tossing the sorry fucker out, straight into your neighbor, Bob, who had very obviously been banging on the door.
“Woah-” The tall, lanky man had said, catching the rat bastard who had been flung out at him. He pushes him off of him, noticing the blood on his face and looks at you, the blood streaming from your nose. “Are you okay?” He asks, his immediate thought on his neighbor as watched the guy storm off towards the stairwell at the end of the hallway.
You sniffed, jaw clinched as you nod, watching the jerkoff walk away before running back inside. Bob follows as you yank open the window in the living room before running back down a hallway, to the bedroom he assumed. Bob had looked around at the mess of glass and blood splatters on the floor, wondering what the fuck had taken pace. He had heard yelling, and glass shattering and had run over trying to open the door. “Mother fucker, DON’T YOU EVER COME BACK HERE!” You scream, tossing a heap of clothes out of the window and down onto the street, Bob heard a mans yell and knew they must’ve landed directly on the offending asshole. “Stupid fucking son of a fucking bitch.”
“Um, Sunny,” Bob says, placing a gentle hand on your slender shoulder. You were shaking, with fear or anger he isn’t sure but he wants to help. “Are you okay?” He doesn’t know what else to ask, what else to do. He’d never been in this kind of situation before.
He watches you raise a hand and use the back of it to wipe your bloody nose before turning around to face him, your friendly neighbor whose dog you often watched when he had to work overnights at the base or when he had been on his deployment for the uranium mission. Blood smeared across your upper lip and cheek as you look up at him, eyes watery and full of an emotion he couldn’t quite decipher. The smile on your face is terrifyingly sexy. “Just peachy, bobby,” You whispered, blinking the tears in your eyes away as you set your shoulders squarely. “My step-daddy didn’t raise no fucking bitch, a man like him wants to hit me, he better be prepared for me to hit him back ten times fucking harder.”
Bob didn’t know what to say, so he resulted for saying a simple okay and stayed around to help you clean up the mess that littered your normally spotless living room. He had even ordered you pizza while you were in the bathroom cleaning up your face, paying for it without telling you because he knew you would argue. He knew you made good money in your line of work, he knew you liked paying for your own things, but he was a gentleman nonetheless and wanted to take care of a neighbor who was clearly in some kind of need of support. He had stayed until you had fallen asleep, silently letting himself out of your apartment and the pair of you hadn’t crossed paths until a week later, granted, you hadn’t left your apartment much (you couldn’t very well go to work with a bruise on your face, it certainly wouldn’t bode well with your bosses nor with your customers) for your paths to have crossed to begin with.
You were surprised to say the least when a knock sounded on your apartment door early in the morning on Saturday, and even moreso when you opened to find none other than your adorable next door neighbor (and, in a way, your savior) standing in your doorframe, hands in the pockets of his jeans and a cute little crease in between his eyebrows as he looked up at you from where he was looking at his shoes. “Hey Bob, everything okay?” You ask, wiping the sweat away from your forehead. You had been doing an intense pilates session in your living room, a good way to keep you limber and fit for your job. “Are you going on deployment or something? Do you need me to take Cosie?”
“No, no..” Bob shakes his head, he felt stupid for coming over here, for not just immediately fessing up to his friends about his dumb lie. He should just turn around and go back to his apartment and call it a day, and he was going to until his fuckin’ phone buzzed in his pocket and he was reminded of why he had told the damn lie in the first place. “Um, actually, do you think I could come in? I have a favor to ask of you, and it’s..a big one.”
You were confused but allowed him to come in nonetheless, shutting and locking the door behind him as he did. What could he possibly need from you that wasn’t watching his dog while he was away? You couldn’t say you weren’t keen to find out, you were bored out of your mind and you couldn’t help but wonder what he needed from you of all people. Bob had literally seen you at your worst last week, and yet here he was inside of your apartment with his hands awkwardly shoved into the front pockets of his boot cut jeans, his pretty eyes flitting about, finding anything to look at that wasn’t your breasts that were pushed up in your slightly too small lulu lemon top.
“What’s up, Bobby?” You asked, headed to your kitchen that over looked the living room. You grabbed a bottle of water out of your slowly emptying fridge and twisted open the cap, taking a hefty sip.
“Um..” He says, his lips pursing as his eyebrows furrow together somehow even deeper. He blows air out of his nose and finally looks up at you, taking his hands out of his pockets only to place them on his hips, awkwardly. “I need you to be my girlfriend.” He says and you snort your water out of your nose on accident, choking on it at the first mention of the words as you tried to process them. “Oh fuck-”

mistki's the land is inhospitable and so are we (2023)!! as edits featuring mine and some of my friends ocs 😁 had a lot of fun with this project... rough explainer of how/why each song corresponds to each character/s under the cut because i love symbolism and talking! sorry it is long
bug like an angel - sapphire
Tumblr media
without spoiling too much of her story and arc... sapphire's life is not easy. she's hurt by people she cares for and who care for her, although inadvertently, and in turn hurts people who she cares for and who cared for her, also not by her own volition. it's kind of a terrible truth that you will harm and be harmed by the people you love, even when you and they truly don't want to. it's up to you how much you're willing to take and deal. you can't keep every promise you make and you can't right every wrong. but you have to keep trying anyway. that's sapphire's strength, and the core of her goodness and why i personally consider her one of my favourite ocs. i chose to depict bug like an angel in mitski's more positive interpretation here and in that light i think it works best for saph
buffalo replaced - heiya
Tumblr media
well first and foremost the vibes of the song fits heiya perfectly fhgjk but also lyricism and tone... yep. quick breakdown of heiya's background since i doubt i'll ever be able to do it properly she's an interesting character for me because she like a lot of my other characters has lost. everything. she had a wife and a child and they were both killed and she had to leave her home again and again and unlike how some of my others would have taken this she has never flagged in her unwavering dedication to preserving hope. for herself for her people for the future etc etc. which is a very fucking difficult thing to do! the world changes faster than you can keep up with it sometimes but for heiya she will not let herself tire and be swept away in it all. people rely on her. she's a guiding star as much as she is a woman. she's a lover and a fighter and thats what buffalo replaced means to me! so
heaven - vinny and caleb
Tumblr media
i feel like of all my oc couples so far they have like. the sweetest most kind of simply mutually trusting dare i say straight forward love. they just love each other so much and thats all. the world could end around them when theyre together and it'd be okay truly. also yeah vinny is ostensibly in heaven now bye angel i feel like this one was pretty self explanatory. me and who WHEN
i don't like my mind - sunny
Tumblr media
he just like me fr (said in denji voice) anyways wow ha. unstoppable unending guilt due to past actions that haunt your every waking moment? throwing yourself into any and all distraction just to take your mind off it, filling your time with other shit so that past sin doesnt for once echo in your awful and hollow brain? this song is perfect for sunny honestly just that sentiment also the "please don't take this job from me".... sometimes the coping is worse. you can be proud of something because you can do it better than anyone else even if that thing is terrible
the deal - wolfgang munch by @gunthermunch
Tumblr media
Wolfgang Amadeus Munch. umm this will make more sense later on but it still kind of makes sense now i think. he doesn't want to be himself he keeps . leaving and moving and running away from his own memories his own self in reaction to others. if he could pawn it all off he would. if he could be better in an instant without having to feel every agonising second of change he would! but thats not how the world works. or is it. read munch by gunthermunch thats an order
when memories snow - lilian
Tumblr media
i feel the older you get the more your past kind of swells up and trails behind you... at least for lilian that is shes very linked to the different versions of the girl/young woman she used to be. for her its a double edged blade, a lot of her own strength is drawn from who she was and what happened to her throughout her life. they haunt her but she's haunting it back in her own way
my love mine all mine - saige, bellona, ari
Tumblr media
stares you down okay so usage of this song very much almost verges into spoiler territory but uhm. uhm. starts twitching basically the whole dynamic here is . sometimes when you love you will sacrifice. and while that is usually a good thing sometimes it is not but sometimes it still is. sometimes you pay your dues for love and sometimes someone else has to pay for your love as well. and whether that is worth it to them remains to be seen. but it's all about love still. whether that's a worthy cause is up to you i suppose
the frost - yoshiki and hikaru from hikaru ga shida natsu

wow these two did not deserve the horrors the narrative (me) slammed down onto their heads. they're kind of the most married of all time to me but like of course under pressure even the strongest most loving of bonds will warp. they've been together for roughly a decade and a half now. they know and love each other as totally as you could possibly imagine. despite it all i am yours, no matter. are we picking up what i'm putting down chat

after the album dropped like at least 3 people swung into my dms with a ?this you?? about this song which. i mean the fucking dogs that start barking halfway through the song. are you kidding me. but anyways sioyef and devotion. sioyef and putting yourself in your lover's hands and looking to them like they are a god. this is super self explanatory. you know

HM.... all i'll say here is that sometimes the homoerotic tension filled high school friendship where both parties have something very wrong with them but in totally different directions can be. scarring. bad. sometimes love just isn't enough when you don't know what you're meant to do with it and when you've lived in survival mode all your life. but that once the dust clears you can scrape yourself off the ground get up keep going and that isn't gonna be the end for you there. or for love, even. sometimes shit just ain't meant to be and thats ok

Pepito pulled Bad aside from Pomme and Dapper had a conversation | QSMP - The New Year Approaches… 2:03:10
Tumblr media
Pepito: Uncle Bad I don’t want Pomme or Dapper to read this. I want them to feel that I’m growing :-D And that I’m not so small anymore. Today I felt a lot of fear for Leo, Sunny, Richas D: I want to protect them like how they protect me. I look smaller but I’ve learned a lot. And now I can protect them. I want when Apa Roier returns for him to be proud of me and also Apa Quackity :-D I’d like you guys to know that you don’t need to worry so much about me :-D To prioritize being happy :D If they’re happy then I’m happy too.
Bbh: I understand Pepito if you want your siblings to be happy.. I understand Pepito.
Pepito: I promise that if I’m in danger again I’ll be stronger.
Bbh: Aw Pepito! That’s- Look that’s very sweet of you. I know you are very tough, a very tough little guy, okay? I mean you’re not that little you’re a month old now. And obviously being a month old means you have more responsibilities, you have more things that you have to do, um, and so I think this is good that you want to take on more responsibilities Pepito. And so obviously yes I will trust you to help keep an eye on your siblings, um, and making sure that they’re safe. But Pepito! I also want you to keep this in mind, okay? Is as your parents, and your aunts, and your uncles, right? It’s our job to keep an eye on you guys. So, I will allow you Pepito to help protect me, okay? And all of your siblings as long as you remember that we’re also going to help protect you too, okay? So just keep that in mind, that we’re going to keep an eye on you and you watch our backs as well, okay Pepito?
(Pepito nods & jumps in agreement)
Bbh: Okay. We can all take care of each other cause we’re all one big family aren’t we? Aw, I’m so proud of you Pepito. Aw you’re growing up so fast! Just don’t grow up too quickly little guy! Aww.
Pepito: I met Apa Quackity :0 I felt a great need to make him smile. I think there are many ways to take care of others :D And how to make them happy.
Bbh: That is very mature Pepito. That is very true. There are lots of ways to take care of other people. You can make them happy, you can keep them physically safe, you can make food for them, theres tons of ways you can help take care of people. ... I think just by playing that game, uh, with Quackity, by spending time with him by hanging out with him, you made your papa so happy. Because as parents we’re happy when our kids are happy. It brings us joy to know that we’re doing a good job raising you and taking care of you.
Pepito: Do you think I can achieve that with Apa Roier?
Bbh: Hmm. You know what? I definitely think you can Pepito. In fact, I’ll say it certainly. You certainly will be able to.
Pepito: In the photo Richas gifted me you can see Apa Roier smiling.
Bbh: Yes, um, I think Pepito your Apa Roier has been through a lot, right? Um, the older you get Pepito, um, life kinda hits you over the head with a hammer periodically, sometimes a lot sometimes a little, everybody’s situation is different. Um, but uh I do think that with time you can be healed of pretty much everything, okay? Almost everything. And I think with time your papa will smile again. So don’t lose hope little guy. Keep your spirits up and just trust that your dad will be happy again. And just be there for him. That’s the best you can do.
Pepito: I will try >:D
Bbh: And that’s all you have to do, don’t be upset, just try. And keep your hope up, okay? You’re doing great already. I definitely think he’ll smile again.
Pepito: Thank you Uncle Bad :-D I’m going to sleep now.
