Jealous Nott
Summary: Y/n is being hit on by Fred and George and it gets Theodore pissed, ~and jealous.
He was sure why he was fuming. You were on the other side of the room getting hit on by the comedic duo, usually he liked them. They were funny as hell but right now as they made you laugh he wanted to shove their jokes up their asses.
"Teds, ya steaming at the ear mate," Matteo remarked, he had never seen Theodore so worked up over someone. He followed his line of sight and burst out laughing, making Theodore send him a glare. "Bloody hell, over y/n"
"They're hitting on her, is she gonna fuck the both of them," His eyes were were boring holed at the twins. His jaw clenched when he noticed how close they'd gotten to her.
"She's a free bird y'know unless you go get her cause Fred's pulling his signature pick up, with the ring-" Theo was already out of his seat. In quick strides he crossed the room, he snaked his hand around her.
Due to the height difference he bent down and put his neck into the crook of her neck.
"Hey boys, why don't you go blow up a bath yeah?" Fred and George both raised their hands in mock surrender, they knew a lost battle when they saw one.
"Got it," George started
"We reckon we can get a couple out," Fred finished as he winked at y/n. "If you ever get tired of this Joker y'know where to find us," before they both left leaving y/n with Theo.
"What are you doing, I was about to get laid," y/n joked.
"Were you gonna fuck the both of em!?"
"Maybe," she smirked. "I do have two holes,"
Theodore's eye brows rose. "Interesting,"
"Theo I'm wanking, what's up?" He noticed how she leant into him.
"I-" he hadn't thought about what he was gonna do once he drove those Weasley boys out. "Well I-"
"Do not tell me the great snarky sarcastic, Theodore Graham Nott, has gone speechless?" He noticed how her eyes glittered as she smiled. The stars were in her eyes.
"It's not Graham luv," He chided.
"I said it's Graham so it's Graham," She said leaving no room for argument.
"Yes Ma'am," Deep down he knew if she asked him to change his name, he'd do it in a heartbeat.
"You're hot when you're jealous," Theodore nearly missed the sentence.
"One, I'm not jealous. Two." He said bringing her closer. "You think I'm hot?" He mumbles into her neck.
"I've always thought you're hot," she whispered back. He chuckled into her neck sending shivers up her spine. She traced his bicep through his uniform.
"Really," Her lips looked so kissable.
"Yeah"
"I want to kiss you so badly luv,"
"Then do it you wanker,"
Theodore crashed his lips to hers, trying to memorize every curve of her mouth, his hand moved from her waist to her hips then back again. He fought the urge to grab her ass.
After a beat he moved his head back an inch.
"You'll be the fucking death of me," he whispered agsinst her lips dropping the lightest kisses on her face from her cheeks to her forehead.
"I should say the same about you, I could fucking feel your cigarettes," he laughed. He loved the girl and he was going to fucking keep her

Roy Kent dating an American soccer player? The guys are shocked, Ted fan girls, she comforts him when he hurts his knee. Or something similar, anything you want really. I just need more Roy Kent fics please. Thank you!!
never believed in fate
pairing: roy kent x f! reader
a/n: THIS IDEA IS SO CUTE also sorryyy i dont like using it but two uses of y/n l/n!!
rou kent wasn’t one to believe in fate. but standing on the sidelines, watching his richmond team warm up, he couldn’t help but think something had changed in the cosmos.
it all started a month ago when ted had convinced the club to host a charity match against the u.s. women’s national team. his excitement was palpable; he wouldn’t stop talking about the talent, the speed, and the sheer joy of the game these women brought.
the day of the match arrived, and the richmond team was ready to show their skills. as the players took to the field, roy’s eyes caught a wide smile and a confident stride. there you were, the american soccer sensation, y/n l/n. roy had heard the name in passing but hadn’t paid much attention until now.
“oi, kent!” jamie tartt’s voice snapped roy back to reality. “you okay, mate? you’re starin’.”
roy grunted, brushing off jamie’s remark. “just keep your head in the game, tartt.”
the match was exhilarating. you were a force to be reckoned with, weaving through defenders and scoring with ease. richmond fought hard, but the u.s. team’s chemistry was undeniable. ted was practically glowing with admiration from the sidelines, unable to contain his joy at seeing such high-caliber play.
after the game, there was a small reception for both teams. roy lingered near the edge of the crowd, nursing a drink and watching as his teammates mingled with the americans. ted was in his element, chatting animatedly with you about strategy and techniques.
“roy kent,” a voice said, pulling him from his thoughts. he turned to see you standing there, a playful smile on your face.
“y/n l/n,” he replied, nodding.
“you played a good game out there,” you said, extending a hand.
“thanks,” roy said, shaking her hand. your grip was firm, and your eyes were bright with excitement. “you too.”
you spent the next hour talking, roy finding himself more and more drawn to you. you were fierce, passionate about the game, and had a wicked sense of humor that matched his own. you exchanged numbers, and before long, you were texting daily, the conversations ranging from football to life beyond the pitch.
one evening, a few weeks later, roy found himself at a quaint london café, waiting for you. you had a break in your schedule and had flown over to visit. as you walked in, roy felt a flutter in his chest - a feeling he hadn’t experienced in a long time.
they spent the evening talking, laughing, and getting to know each other better. as they walked along the thames, roy felt a sense of peace he hadn’t felt in years.
a few days later, disaster struck during a training session. roy was showing some of the younger players a defensive move when he felt a sharp pain in his knee. he went down hard, cursing under his breath. the pain was intense, and he knew immediately it was bad.
the medical team rushed to his side, but it was you who was there first, having just arrived to surprise him. she knelt beside him, your face etched with concern.
“roy, are you okay?” you asked, voice steady despite the worry in your eyes.
“bloody knee,” he grumbled, wincing as the medics examined him.
you stayed by his side, holding his hand as they helped him off the field. ted was there too, his face a mix of worry and admiration for the way you were supporting roy.
later, in the treatment room, roy lay on the table, his knee wrapped and elevated. you sat beside him, hand never leaving his.
“you’re going to be okay,” you said softly, brushing a strand of hair from his forehead.
roy looked at her, feeling a swell of emotion. “thanks”
“you don’t have to thank me,” she replied. “i’m here for you, roy. no matter what.”
as the weeks passed, you became a constant presence in Roy’s life. you were there for his rehab sessions, cheering him on and keeping his spirits high. your unwavering support and love gave him the strength to push through the pain and frustration.
the guys were shocked at first, unable to believe that the gruff, tough-as-nails roy kent was dating the american soccer star. but as they saw the change in him - the way he smiled more, the way he seemed lighter - they couldn’t help but be happy for him.
ted, of course, was over the moon. “i always knew you had a soft spot, roy,” he said one day, clapping him on the back. “and she’s just the person to bring it out.”
roy rolled his eyes but couldn’t suppress the smile tugging at his lips. “yeah, yeah. just don’t go writing any sonnets about it, lasso.”
ted laughed. “wouldn’t dream of it.”
as the season progressed, roy’s knee healed, and he returned to the field stronger than ever. and through it all, you were there, a beacon of light in his life. you continued to navigate their demanding careers, but they always found time for each other, their bond growing deeper with each passing day.
roy kent had never believed in fate, but looking at you, he couldn’t help but think that maybe, just maybe, everything had fallen into place exactly as it was meant to.

Actually I will say this in regards to Beard, Wembley, and James Tartt Sr
I think Beard After Hours really shows how much the tone of Ted Lasso is seen through framing lens of Ted himself. Even if Ted says the story wasn’t really about him, the thematic weight of the show is absolutely about Ted. And Beard After Hours may be a crazy hallucinatory version in its self, but it’s still basically our only glance into this world when it’s not actively being Ted’s World.
And i think it being Ted’s World is why at Wembley, we only see the implication of violence. It’s always been the undercurrent when Jamie tells people about his dad - that he pushed him to dominate, that he’s a dick - but in that locker room scene? Man. Despite the show avoiding using the word ‘abuse’, everything from the acting to the staging to the dialogue fucking SCREAMS the impending threat of immediate violence from the top of the scene onwards.
I don’t think I have ever seen anyone disagree on the reading of that scene. The way Jamie tells him ‘don’t talk to me like that’ — we all agree that that’s something he learned from Dr Sharon. We are all in agreement, after watching him punch his dad, that it was the first time he’s ever fought back. And we all believe it, that when James got up saying ‘you can have that one for free’ that the threat was immediate and very real.
But before it can reach that point it’s cut off. Beard pulls James away. It’s a tense, hard scene to watch, but the actual violence shown is very minimal.
And then we get to Beard After Hours, where James has followed Beard out of Ted’s world, and we see the actual violence that just as easily could’ve taken place, and likely has before, in a world where Ted Lasso was not the lens with which we viewed things.
#beard after hours#coach beard#james tartt#jamie tartt#ted lasso#special shout out to It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia because I think what they’ve done with the word ‘implication’ is the most subversive#aspect of that show#it has literally ruined the word for me it has neutered it’s ability to hide otherwise dark subjects#under the word ‘implication’. because Sunny made the word ‘implication’ as bad as the words it was hiding#but that is another essay for another time#abuse cw

What if the Ancients and Beast had demon names from the Ars Goetia like the Genshin Archons?
Ancients - let’s began!
Pure Vanilla Cookie - Stolas (yes like from Helluva Boss sue me): Stolas taught astronomy and is knowledgeable about herbs and plants, which fits into PV’s theme with plants/orchids. And with his awakened form, the astronomy theme really fits in.
Hollyberry Cookie - Beleth: Beleth was rode a warhorse and all kind of music is heard before him. Hollyberry is a great warrior and protector, and LOVES to celebrate, Which the music parts comes in. I need to see her awakened form to further see.
Dark Cacao Cookie - Agares: Agares finds pleasure in teaching immoral expressions. This ties in Dark Cacao having a neutral expression 24/7, and in a voice line “Sorry, I do not know how to laugh.” And Agares also has the power to destroy dignities. Dark Cacao also slayed the twin dragons that was constantly fighting.
Golden Cheese Cookie - Zagan: Part of Zagan’s powers is that of turning metals into coins. Like gold into a gold coin. Golden Cheese is obsessed with gold, heck it’s even in her name, saying that all that glitters is hers. Zagan is depicted as a griffin-winged bull. Golden Cheese has wings, so it fits.
White Lily Cookie - Vine: Vine is described to tell present, past, and future, discover witches and hidden things. White Lily often talks about going back into the past and fixing her mistakes, and she discovered the Witches Baquet.
Beasts - part two!
Shadow Milk Cookie - Paimon: Paimon teaches all arts, philosophies and sciences. Before corruption, SM was the Virtue of Knowledge, being a scholar to cookiekind. Paimon is also described wearing a crown, and before him goes a host of demons playing trumpets and bashing cymbals or any other musicals instruments. SM’s whole theme is about chess, clowns, etc. Man’s kingdom set is chess themed and his outfit is based around clowns.
Mystic Flour Cookie - Vepar: Vepar, if requested, make the sea rough and stormy, and to make full of ships. Mystic Flour; before corruption; granted wishes. Vepar can also make men die in three days by putrefying sores and wounds, but can heal them immediately. Mystic Flour can make people go *poof* by turning them into flour. And Mystic Flour’s gameplay in game is a healer.
Burning Spice Cookie - Purson: Purson brings good familiars and is often depicted as a man with the face of a lion, carrying a viper, and riding a bear, which ties in the the Spice Tribes and their many animals. And Burning Spice fought some snakes too tying in with the viper.
Eternal Sugar Cookie - Astaroth: Astaroth is describe as a man with feathered wings. Eternal Sugar has wings, but that’s not the only reason why I picked Astaroth. Astaroth is a demon who seduces through laziness. Eternal Sugar also has demon wings and is the Beast of Sloth, sloth being a synonym to laziness.
Silent Salt - Andras: Andras sows discord among people, and according to the Goetia, he appeared as winged angel body and the head of an owl or raven. From what I seen, Silent Salt has been associated with ravens and crows, and he brought discord through silence. Andras also wielded a sharp and bright sword, and Salt’s souljam is on his sword, making it bright. Andras was also considered a highly dangerous demon, who can kill the conjuring magician. Silent Salt, when his release comes, would be absolutely terrifying and dangerous considering you won’t even know that he is even there. He cut the literal moon in half!
Anyway thanking you for coming to my Ted-Talk goodbye and night.

seeing different takes and finishing Luminary Wardance very late, I come with my ted talk about the infamous "scaring teen to PTSD" incident and my thoughts about it; you're welcome to disagree btw [sorry for the lack of screen-proofs, didn't play the game in eng, things might've been lost in translation]
tldr: Boothill was 100% aware of what he was doing and wasn't going to actually fatally harm Luka.
I guess we have to start by preface of how the wardance is ever organised or is for and realise that fatal outcomes are outlawed actually, as the whole purpose of wardance is cultural exchange, aside from Xianzhou’s inner workings regarding Jing Yuan and previous events. It’s a show, it’s for fame, for publicity, for getting a message around - as we see many people use it as a platform - therefore it’s not a deathring. It has rules, judges, press-coverage. All that stuff.
And through it we follow Luka, sympathize with him and his struggle, we’re narratively tied with him and his experience, overcoming insecurities, sort of coming of age - it’s the most common myth structure of him venturing to the “new world to transit from boy to man and undergo a transformation through trial. But also by death and rebirth (more on that later). It’s Hero’s Journey by Joseph Campell or, if you’re inclined, the Morphology of the folktale by Vladimir Propp, or Memo by Vogler and McKenna. That stuff.
To sum up the experiences of him up to that point, it was a straight progression from one opponent to another, gaining new friends and slowly, but surely gaining confidence on the arena and inside himself, because let’s face it, Luka is quite unsure. He’s that ugly duckling, not yet a swan. Despite his accomplishments driven by the need to survive, as he explicitly states, he’s still terrified by lots of things. He still lacks the self-awareness to believe in himself, his accomplishments, but also the procession of failure and death, despite being surrounded by it from a young age. Luka was raised in a communal society, so getting out on his own and on “borrowed” terms is unusual and stressful. But overall he manages and things generally go in his favor. Trailblazer couches him, helps with connections, there are fans, even temporarily stresses, such as the whole Shuojin debacle does end well with Topaz’s help. And he’s about to face the infamous Galaxy Ranger, although without any animosity.
He’s on precipice of “going into the cave”.
So with that in mind let’s briefly switch to Boothill. He hadn’t come to Xianzhou for fame, quote him, he came for revenge. To start off he’s in a completely different standpoint of his own story in contrast to Luka, easily making it through previous matches - and nobody presumably died resulting in his disqualification, that is. He came most likely for Topaz or just to draw IPC’s attention - it is unclear, but his primarily objective IS to provoke. It does not necessarily reflect how he really feels towards any of his opponents, because for one everything is on camera for that.
Then again, every one of the contestants [except Luka prior to a point his arm got replaced], accepted IPC sponsorship quote Topaz, and it is probably not even a NDA information, despite many of Xianzhou’s residents repulsion towards the company. So definitely no hard feelings on that part should come around then fighting. No, it might prove a point actually. It’s not even about the contestants themselves, but IPC’s involvement. Destroying their tech, their reputation, that’s the main goal, not some sort of mindless maiming.
So, passing on to Luka, who had been a promising upstart, an underdog, the one who refused to accept IPC’s deal, who fought for that explicitly, and most likely gathered a lot of sympathy from Boothill. Who, in turn, was probably as daring and full of vigor back when he was Luka's age. Then let’s not forget that Boothill had full access to Luka’s performance by that time - via any means from newspapers to playback of his trial fights, or even watching them live from the tribunes. It’s not private information and more than enough for a cyber eye to analyze, aside from everything else. And following Shuojin defeat and IPC presentation, Boothill was most likely following too (let’s say it was a game of cat and mouse, since Topaz is aware he’s there), he knows about the new hand and it does probably piss him off so much he mentions it to Luka later.
But let’s get into that battle then, shall we?
There’s nothing too malicious going on from the start of it, except for Owlbert joking, but alas.
Boothill makes his warning from the start - drop out and spare yourself the trouble. Not only bc flesh vs cyborg body is not exactly the best match - Luka has beaten some metal before - but because of the difference in experience and objective (fame vs. payback). Luka is, don’t get me wrong, a greenhorn. Yes, talented, sure, survived the hardships of Belobog, but even in comparison to Yanqing, who fought literal wars, he still is. It’s the man vs a child, literally, and especially so if we follow the hero's journey, it’s the obstacle he has to overcome. Maybe not the final, but quite a symbolic one. Also Boothill gives him a way out because for them it is also different - Boothill is willing to get his life on the line, more often than not, what borders on suicidal; Luka is yet not aware completely, what it means to seriously do so. He’s not used (clearly by previous events) of how cruel the outer world can be, out of the familiarity of his own planet (the original state of the world for the hero per se), that there could be people, who will want to harm him without any reason and make it lethal in process. And that’s the question also, Boothill poses to Luka, when he taunts him later. It is almost literal - if Luka can consciously risk his life, if his own beliefs, his determination are strong enough, can he face not only “defeat” in the sense of a wounded pride, but in a way of losing the only thing he truly has, his life. [remember that line, folks]
Then, when Luka objects, he pokes in the wound, unknowingly, of course, but let’s see what Boothill says in retaliation.
“I’ll give it a proper overhaul for ya later”. Do you think he’d promised a poor kid a maintenance, if he was sure to kill him? It’s the same tactic as in the Penacony sidequest when he was threatening the pepeshi sect, really.
But it is also a test of faith. A battle of wills. It’s literally a trial. To which Luka quickly retracts, saying let’s not risk our lives (to which Boothill's expression instantly changes). But it also shows what Luka feels this is, just a sparring, that’s what he had been doing. But it is different for Boothill. And that is a “lesson” he’ll teach Luka soon enough (bc I feel he does like the kid), and he then explicitly says so. And it has been that way for him all the time, even prior, back in “peaceful” days.
Boothill offers a choice: turn tail or take a swing, which for some reason, upsets everyone not only the trailblazer, but really is such an IC thing to do for him. He even get mad if Trailblazer interferes, because it is between him and Luka. Because Luka has to make the decision himself, not with encouragement, not with influence from others. It’s Luka’s own choice. And he makes it. [As in he enters “the cave”, takes the leap of faith.]
And as he does, it’s important what Luka “hallucinates” when they just stare at each other, not even drawing arms. He sees the shadow of death. It is not coincidental also in the sequences following his defeat. Because Luka has to “die” to be reborn in a new quality and as a new person. He has to face the part of his own subconsciousness, which tells him to flee, it’s an overcoming of an inner turmoil. It’s the first part of transformation (second part is the conclusion he draws after Tail’s help).
And all that time Boothill waits. He does not shoot, he does not further provoke. He gives Luka space and time to gather his guts, understanding what the boy is going through. Because he still has a choice. Owlbert even comments that they are just standing there instead of fighting, meaning it is purposeful. It’d take Boothill less than a few seconds to really win, with all his prowess and technical level difference. Yet he waits.
And once Luka finally makes the move, it is what it is. Six shots, an empty barrel, a broken mechanical arm. But think of it, would a cyborg with an enhanced eye, a sharpshooter, really miss any vitals, if he wanted? For all shits and giggles and memes, I doubt it. Boothill shot with uncanny precision, aiming where it would be less critical for Luka. His arm, which can be re-built, re-assembled. One could argue he took his anger on the IPC tech, which could be also true enough. But what he actually “spared” Luka is true enough too. Or rather, that he never intended any serious* harm. (can’t help the psychological trauma true, but oh well)
And yes, facing Boothill helped Luka “come out of the cave”, learn truths about himself, his heart, his resolve. It was something careful guidance from before could not particularly achieve, to corner him to look inside deep enough to come out, not exactly a different person. But more mature. Live through his trial of fire, complete the transformation and initiation.
[To all the people, who would come at me and say BUT HE IS A TEEN!!! Yeah, but so is Yanqing. I don’t see anyone speaking how he is technically a child soldier fighting multiple wars, borisins, Jingliu, Blade and Hulei, who showed little care about him being a literal child.]
And Boothill’s behaviour towards Luka changes after that. There’s no animosity, he later on invites Luka for a talk, explains himself and apologizes.
(The damage was already done, but the thing is how both parties process it and go about it later on, at least that’s the hill I will die on)
But most importantly. He steps down for Luka, so he could go and chase his dream of making it to the top. Under some pretense, of course, but if he was going through with all the bravado, or was set on hurting minors, I feel he’d have no qualms in sparring against Yanqing. He uses the same tactic as before: steps down, warns him, knowing probably full well Luka of all people won’t back down. Boothill tests if the kid had learned the lesson, which even Luka himself is catching on.
In summary of all that I tried to explain, I think the narrators used the most common tools, drew parallels, even if some moments were a bit on the borderline. Our perception could differ depending on age, culture and general experience, but I think narratively everything stayed on point for this event story and watching some grey areas being explored was a treat.

I HAVE ARRIVED TO PUSH THE DIOMEDES AND AENEAS ITALY FLING AGENDA
Idk smth abt the second strongest Achaean and the second strongest Trojan meeting again in a place of refuge after both have been driven from their respective countries and finding solace in each other is, dare I say it, kinda tender. Like these r guys who have fought each other for years on the battlefield, in a way they know the other intimately in a way not many do. They were seen as each other's counterpart, and only knew the other in an environment of battle and bloodshed. Now they relearn who the other is in a tempestuous peace, except Diomedes has never truly known peace and still seeks out the warm, familiar comfort of war. Meanwhile Aeneas is "going through it" ™️ and has the weight and hopes of his people resting on his shoulders. It is up to him to ensure the remaining Trojans do not simply become a remnant of a war long past, a cautionary tale about the ephemeral nature of the gods (waitt Aeneas x Apollo, lowkey let me cook but that's for another ask).
Then they meet again years later in a place neither of them would have imagined they'd be.
And both of them r so angry, and grieving, and there's so much emotion and maybe not all of its negative. They have seen each other's worst, they look into the other's eyes and know that there is zero expectation for grandeur or dependability. They can be messy, and upset, and cruel and the other person would react with the same exact intensity and maybe that's what they need. They don't want the soft touches of love and care (bez deep down it hurts for someone to treat them preciously), but for someone to dig their nails into and scar to leave proof of their existence, someone they can press into until they don't know where one of them begins and the other ends. Except they're soo similar, and the longer they spend together the more they begin to notice and cherish those differences.
Also the angst of Diomedes driving Aeneas from his home, only for Diomedes to be driven to exile by Aphrodite's vengeance. Except Diomedes stabbed Aphrodite after she saved Aeneas from death by Diomedes's hand (Aeneas is very babygirl coded, like he rlly was getting the princess treatment getting carried by Aphrodite and Apollo- HEAR ME OUT 😳) and
Diomedes helped burn his city to the ground.
They both lost everything and the other person had a hand in it. Do Diomedes and Aeneas look into eachothers eyes and see all they lost staring back at them? Do their failures haunt them through the contours of the other's face? Is every scar they run a gentle hand across a reminder of all they couldn't save?
Most importantly, it's funny. Like Aphrodite rily did all that for what. Like she systematically planned this man's downfall, causing Diomedes' wife to be unfaithful, which in turn made him lose his throne and be exiled to some foreign land. And then he shows up years later in a romantic relationship with her baby boy, and she's the GODDESS OF LOVE but didn't see this coming. And she has a moment where she goes
"..wait why does it kinda eat tho" and instantly hates herself for it bez she can tell Diomedes and Aeneas genuinely care for eachother in some kinda messed up way, and Aeneas has already lost so much and she can't be the reason he loses even more, and so she doesn't do anything except silently seethe in the corner.
It's that one consent meme where it's like "isn't there someone you forgot to ask." EXCEPT THAT SOMEONE IS APHRODITE AND AENEAS SHE EXPECTED BETTER. Also Diomedes stole Aeneas' horses 🫶.
Thank you for attending my ted talk.
THANK YOU FOR THIS
(I saw this when I was half asleep, and for some reason I ended up dreaming of diomedes and aeneas as cats fighting in Italia, so i was really confused when i was re-reading this and couldn't find the cats😭😭😭)
aeneas is such an angsty character, every mention of him i come across is sorrow after sorrow - his wife dies, his city burns down, hera is hunting him - like does he get a break?
i really really like them meeting in Italia, which like you said has become a place of refuge, and naturally both of them have so much pent up rage and grief within them, the deep down it hurts for someone to treat them preciously breaks my heart but it makes so much sense with these two, they are shouldering so much rn. and they're literally the definition of enemies to lovers, and naturally aphrodite sees this, her only problem is that diomedes javelin threw a spear at her, and she in turn broke his marriage for it.
I mean for me personally it always feels like the two of them would be such a poigant reminder for each other of the war and what they lost because of it - but i do see the vision, you're winning me over with this one i fear.
also i love the idea of aphrodite just seething in a corner its so funny to me.
also this is literally how I pictured them btw:

Sick! No, Sick in Love!
(Sampson Montague x Tybalt Capulet)
Sampson falls sick, yet the person he least expects comes and....takes care of him?

"Dude, you're shit at shooting, you can't even hit close to a bullseye when you're CLOSE to him!" rang through Sampson's mind as he sweated bullets, bullets that meant nothing in the current war between Montague and Capulet, but everything in the battle between him and his body. His chest heaved, he couldn't hardly breathe without hacking or wincing, and all he wanted to do was rot in bed. It wasn't much of a difference as he usually was, except he didn't have the time, nor energy, to spit venom back at his brother. He simply coughed, took some medication, and tried to nap off his thoughts. But you can't nap off thoughts, can you? He could never shake his anger, his pride, or his weakness. He wanted to yell how "he could take them on", how "a bullet from my gun would get 'em to fear us". But truly, he knew Gregory was right. He knew he couldn't stand a fight with the Capulets. Not alone, not like this.
So, why was he out at a gas station, smoking a cigarette, and lightheaded? He didn't know, or he couldn't have. He didn't remember much of it, anyways. People swayed around him, as if life was a form of a psychedelic dance, yet he couldn't attach himself to their rhythm. It didn't seem right, nothing did.
It felt too much like his youth, like a party he wanted to join, but never could. He wishes he had his gun on him, life is safer when you're aware, vigilant, and tense. It was either you were shot, you shot someone, or you were merely a stray in the fray. That's what Mercutio says, anyways. Mercutio? Or was it, Prince? Benvolio? Ted? Names started to slur together; time passed yet stayed still. He wants to go to sleep. It's all he wants.
"......should've listened to my brother....'m a fuckin' punk..." he murmured, body all shaky, ".......they know 'm here........just gonna doze for a bit...yeah..." was all he said, before a car drove up to him, and he fell to the ground.
It made no sense to Tybalt on why, or really even how, he could ever feel this way. It made no sense on why Tybalt missed him. He missed him, his stupid pink hair, his stupid eye bruise, that dumb shirt of his, his faintly pink lips, that fucking annoying whimper when he's in danger (with a weapon on him, mind you), God, he should've shot him. He knows he could, he knows he's the best shot in Verona, he was made to be nothing else, after all.
So, why didn't he? He's the enemy, his enemy. He's just thinking about his target, merely noticing his attributes. He's been doing that a lot lately, maybe he's just waiting for the right time? He wonders how he'd do it. Maybe at a party? In an alley? At the beach? Maybe, if he kills Sampson, it'll bring him to Benvolio. God, he can't stand Benvolio. If he wasn't so fixated on Sampson, he'd go out and kill him first, instead of his cousin.
He drove to that gas station, where him and Sampson fought countlessly, though he wasn't bringing a fight with him. Really, he wanted a cigarette, at least he could burn his thoughts off. God, now he really wants to kill him. Choking, maybe. Yeah, choking, the thought of his hands around Sampson's neck, his rough, scarred hands all over Sampson's smooth skin, eyes melting into each other, no one else but each other. Tybalt leaning in, lips on Sampson's, pecking him all over-
"FUCK." Tybalt yelled out, slamming the breaks on his car, gripping the steering wheel, and threw his head back onto his seat. It made no sense, WHY is he thinking about Sampson like this? He shut his eyes, "God, just give me some type of sign on what to do." And sure enough, he did. As Tybalt exited the car, he saw a man laying directly in front of his car. Pink hair, bruised eye, those sweet pink lips-
"SAMPSON." He reached for his gun, but.... something was off. Sampson was sweating, blushing, shaking, heaving. Tybalt kneeled down and touched Sampson's forehead (Just to see if he isn't dead, or anything) and retracted it immediately. "The hell? You're burning up." Tybalt looked around. He can't call his family, they'll either kill Sampson, or won't let either him or Sampson live it down. But he couldn't, or didn't want to, call the Montagues, they'd cause a commotion! "....no one's out here." He didn't know why, well he kind of did, but he refused to say, but he swooped Sampson into his arms, put him in his backseat, got into his car, and drove off. Though, not to the Capulet household. No, he drove off somewhere farther: his own house.
(cred: @/uzmacchiato)
"Hnnrrgghh.." Sampson stirred in his sleep, feeling his fever break. He knew his family'd get him....and that they'd scold him. He slowly sat up and looked around. Red lamp, half-empty bowl of soup, crosses, stray bullets, and .... a red vest...where did he see that before...? His mind was foggy, as he got up, and walked to the door. "Sit back down." Sampson jumped and turned around. In the corner of the room, silently, Tybalt sat with his arms crossed. "THE.....P-PRINCE OF CATS-" "Yeah, yeah, sit down." Sampson patted for his gun, and "I took your weapon. You're in my house. Don't go looking for it, you won't find it." "WHY-WHY'D YOU TAKE ME TO YOUR FUCKIN' HOUSE?!" "So, your voice's all good. Noted." "YOU WANT TO KILL ME, DON'T YOU? TOO MUCH OF A COWARD TO EVEN DO IT PUBLICLY?" "You and I both know that I would've done so already, don't ask me something so stupid." "I'LL DO WHAT I WANT. MY FAMILY WILL FIND ME." Tybalt smirked, and got up, cornering Sampson in a few seconds, "Yeah, they'll find you alright. I'll make sure of that." Sampson's eyes widened with both fear and anger, before he got into another coughing fit and fell against the ground, Tybalt quickly catching him.
"FUCK OFF." "Oh, so you can walk fine on your own?" ".....go choke on your gun." Tybalt glared at Sampson, before helping him to his bed.
"Eat the rest of your soup and rest."
"......"
Tybalt slammed the door, more out of intimidation than anything. He kept his composure, though he could feel his walls breaking. That's what he missed about Sampson the most: that mischievous, infuriating, bratty behavior of his. His quick tongue, his "easy to petrify" attitude, his loser-esque aura-
"He's perfect..." was all Tybalt thought, as he went downstairs. ".... I know his family's gonna be worried sick, but...." Tybalt grabs at his face. What was he thinking? Why didn't he just leave him there? Killing him would've made better sense than this. ".... I'll tell him. I'll tell him, I'll tell him, I'll tell him, I'll tell him." He sank into his sofa, staring at his hands, horrified yet joyful. "I'll tell him soon. Yeah."
(A/N: FIRST SAMPBALT FIC WHO CHEERED.... ANYWAYS THIS PROBABLY ISN'T TOO COHERENT, MAINLY BECAUSE I WROTE THIS QUICKLY! THAT'S ALSO WHY THERE MIGHT BE GRAMMATICAL ERRORS THAT I'LL PROOFREAD LATER! DC 1956: Batman gone... WOKE????/?questionmark??
Detective Comics #233 is the introduction of Kathy Kane, the Batwoman. In a shocking twist of history, she was created to make the comic less gay.

So, we all know the subtext about Batman and Robin. It is not a new thing to suggest that people, even back in the 50s, thought that they were gayer than Gorgeous George. Batwoman, aka Kathy Kane, was created to dispel those concerns by giving Batman a superhero love interest. Kathy would later be rewritten as both a lesbian and Bruce's cousin, which throws a bit of a retroactive wrench in things.
For the time period this comic was created in, they actually do a really good job with the character. Batwoman is presented as every bit as capable as Batman. At times she scoops him, other times she saves him. She relies more on gadgets than fisticuffs - and said gadgets are based on cosmetics because you know what those women are like - but she's still effective in a fight.
In the end, Batman uncovers Batwoman's secret identity, but Batwoman had a mutually assured destruction plan - an X-Ray camera that could effectively film through Batman's mask. Batman convinces Batwoman to give up on fighting crime, but she would be back within a year.
A story that adds something to the lore is in Detective Comics #235, which reveals that Batman's father, Thomas Wayne, briefly wore a Batman costume and fought criminals, although only one time. This story has some legs to it, and in the 2000s the concept was brought back as Dr. Hurt, who wore a version of Thomas Wayne's costume.
This is a recton to the classic origin that actually works for me. Batman is traditionally inspired by a primal fear, but this puts more emphasis on the influence that his parents had on him. Batman has always been motivated by the loss of his parents and - while his dad wearing a batman costume is kind of hokey - it is a good symbolism for the type of person that Bruce Wayne wants to be. Batman is a character defined by fear, but there are also aspects of love and hope in his character, and it's important to show that.
Another story that shows the more hopeful side of Batman is the cover story from Batman #101. This is a pretty simple story about how Batman's lost cape intersects with the lives of some ordinary people. A stuntman wears it to get publicity, a man getting mugged uses it to scare away thieves, and a man with a fear of heights uses it to get over his phobia. I genuinely like these kinds of stories because they show how the superhero doesn't need to fight crime to be a positive influence on people around him.
The wild thing is that this is premised on Batman and everyone in his orbit being terrible at their jobs. We're told that a detective Batman worked with had deduced his secret identity before dying. Before doing so, he mailed Batman a replica of his cape with "BATMAN IS BRUCE WAYNE" stitched on the inside. He didn't even put it in code or anything like that one guy did with Superboy.
Not only did Batman just keep that lying around unguarded next to their regular cape, but Alfred just casually switches them around and gives Batman the wrong cape, and then it just blows off of his head in the wind! Bruce. Listen. We're friends here. We love you. I get that everyone rolls a 1 on a saving throw from time to time but this is just some gross incompetence. I would expect this kind of chicanery from Ted Kord but not you, Bruce.
Not only does Batman have to get his fat pulled out of the fire by a random Superman encounter, he then immediately gives away Superman's secret identity to anyone who might be listening!
It's like why even be the Batman if you're not gonna take it seriously?
Until next time!

Could Mike’s upbringing in a seemingly emotionally distant family environment contribute to any psychological tendencies, such as attachment issues or a need to "prove" himself to others?
I really like the analysis and the fact that you use your psychological knowledge to analyze Mike and I would be very interested in your answers to my questions. :)
Oh, Mike definitely has some attachment issues that likely stem from his upbringing. I wrote about it here, if you haven't read it already.
Mike feels a need to perform, to fit into a role that he feels makes him worth others' love. This could come from a internalized sense that his true self is undeserving.
This is by no means a slam dunk analysis, of course. While Ted has always been portrayed as emotionally distant, we don't know how he was back when Mike was born. We do see moments where he bonds with Holly, so it is possible that it was the same when Nancy and Mike were little, too. Karen also seems to have always been a loving, doting mother, even if she never seemed to be able to connect with her children as they got older.
I start to wonder if maybe the Wheeler children's issues start later in life. Holly does seem more or less happy. This surely comes in part due to her ignorance of everything, but that goes hand in hand with her worldview being mostly confined to her own immediate environment. Unlike Mike and Nancy, and their parents before them, Holly has yet to feel any societal pressures to conform beyond those set down by her parents (and she has no real reason to push back against them).
Mike is and always has been an outcast. That may have been somewhat acceptable when he was little, but, as he got older, there were pressures to be more masculine. We don't see this explicitly in his story, but there are elements there. His bully is very physically aggressive, and the surprise on Lucas and Dustin's faces suggest Mike never fought back before. Karen makes him pack away and donate his toys, something he chafes against. Ted uses sports metaphors when disciplining Mike that fail to resonate with him.
However, there are hints that Mike admires these features. His own chosen D&D identity is that of the paladin, the knight in shining armor. Paladins are strong, courageous, and charismatic. They stand up for the downtrodden and smite evil, even at risk of their own well-being. This is Mike's ideal self, and he's willing to go into it whole hog. We know from the original show pitch that Mike uses D&D as an escape. He uses it to be someone he wishes he could be in real life. If we go back to the bullying example, what did it take for Mike to finally fight back? Someone was insulting Will, someone who would have torn Mike apart if El weren't there. In fact, later on, Mike jumped off a cliff at the same bully's ultimatum in order to save Dustin.
While I do think Mike has a self-esteem issue, it could also be a matter of him holding others' well-being above his own. It's the classic hero complex. Mike can't resist the opportunity to save others because he sees the inherent goodness in doing so, much like a classic paladin would. He's Lawful Good, through and through (though he probably leans more towards the Good than the Lawful). He may have only taken El in because he thought she could help him find Will, but he still gave her shelter for the night, regardless, because that's the sort of person he is.
Mike wants to be good. The problem is that he doesn't see how he can do good without acts of heroism. Will didn't fall in love with Mike because of his heroics. Will fell in love with plain old Mike. This is the season 5 story element that I want to see most. I need Mike to learn that he doesn't need to be playing a role in order to earn love. He just needs to be Mike. He spends nearly all of season 3 and all his time in California before El leaves playing a role, and it causes friction in his relationships. However, his role was twisted from his ideal of a paladin to that of someone who is "cool" or "manly"(from a teenager's perspective). When he takes off this mask, when he's alone with Will, we see the real Mike again, the one who we saw before he left for California. Somewhere along the line, Mike decided that what El wants him to be (or what he thinks El wants him to be) is more important than who he really is. We'll have to see where things go from here, because Mike wasn't really able to help El by playing a role. It, in fact, harmed her.
The trouble with psychoanalyzing fictional characters with any real accuracy is that it presumes they were written with these concepts in mind. I'd wager most of the writers have not studied psychology in enough depth to do so. Still, it's a fun exercise that still has some likelihood to be accurate if the writers tried to write the characters with any consistency and realism.

I love ur black brother hcs sooo much <3 I was wondering if you had any thoughts about Narcissa. I love her so much and feel like she gets misrepresented by a lot of the fandom. Thank you for answering!!
thank u !!! i love narcissa i love narcissa narcissa if youre reading this im single
the baby of the family through and through. her parents adore her, and she's fairly spoiled. a classic tale of always getting to do things her elder sisters didn't get to, everyone fawning over her, etc.
all three of them fought bitterly, but andromeda and narcissa were the closest. bellatrix liked to try to pit them against each other by favoring one of them and harassing the other
her favorite cousin was regulus, of course. she feels very maternal towards him and tries to keep bellatrix from teasing him too much. she has a soft spot for sirius because he's andromeda's favorite but she thinks he's too loud and they struggle to connect
when her family fights - and they do it frequently - bellatrix fights, andromeda flights, and narcissa fawns. she will sit there and say nothing, hoping that nobody notices her
she feels an intense pressure to be the perfect child because bellatrix is unhinged and andromeda is disobedient. her parents are always using her sisters' mistakes to teach her. she feels like she can't make any of the mistakes they did - or any mistakes at all, really - because she should know better. she can't cut her hair too short because andromeda did and her mother complained about it to narcissa for weeks, and she can't get poor grades in potions because father raged when bellatrix did, that sort of thing
never really cared about pureblood politics in either way - bellatrix and andromeda took it too far in opposite directions to her. she thought it better to keep to yourself and found it gauche to discuss politics in public
she and sirius developed ed's in their teens, both inflicted upon them by their mothers
lesbian in love with alice fortescue sorry. i <3 nobleflower, and it makes so much sense to me. alice was the one place where narcissa felt like she truly knew who she was, where she could shed her fear of messing up and actually follow her heart, rather than trying to meet anyone else's expectations. they were devoted to one another in secret.
both bellatrix and andromeda suspected something. bellatrix insinuated this in front of their parents often because it enraged narcissa, which is what let andromeda on. andromeda often tried to redirect the conversation by bringing up ted or sirius
she bears the full weight of her family's expectations after andromeda leaves (they deserve the 'why did you leave me here with them?' trope that the black brothers get, and andromeda never gets over this guilt). bellatrix has a certain reputation among pureblood society, and andromeda has tarnished their family name, so it is up to narcissa to restore their honor
she breaks things off with alice and marries lucius almost immediately. it's an arranged marriage in an attempt to rescue their family's name - the malfoys have money and influence, and at the very least, it secures narcissa's position. she doesn't really have a choice here
she doesn't really love lucius, but she tries. she goes back to her fawn state, just kind of going along with whatever lucius says/what is expected of her. she is the wife she was taught to be: silent, resigned, unseen. her only sense of comfort are her memories with andromeda and alice, both of whom are now unreachable to her
having a baby saves her. she lives and breathes for her son
mini moodboard !

I do not think I will ever run out of things to talk about regarding the traumatic shit the Eastern Caverns had to go through. And how every character had to that on top of 2 of your greatest enemies aren't to blame and are victims too.

Like, Junjie's the obvious and I will milk the angst for all its worth. Literally, I have a fanfic where I just stack his truama like pancakes. (Why did I say pancakes? Why not something back-crushing, like coal?)
And I know he didn't really have friends but he had to KNOW people. Ones who were killed, kids he knew who grew up in fear of him...

And Lian--my poor girl. We do not even know WHEN she was turned into the Lady Dai-Fu. And we don't know if when she was herself people were against her like Junjie at first (of course, even he didn't recognize her with the mask soo...)

Then we have Swick. He couldn't have been that old when the Emperor took over, as he doesn't seem older than early 20s. Same with most of Hamengku's rebels and even some of the underlords--they never knew a world without the Emperor, never knew Junjie and Lian as a good person, or safety.
And Dru obviously has ptsd after losing her dad and probably a whole lot of other issues she never talks about. And she has to deal with the fact her dad will never get justice because the dark slinger is Junjie and its not his fault...but it is his face that haunts her nightmares
And Hamengku--he had two friends turn against him, see his other friends most likely killed, and just had to deal with that. And then Junjie comes back, not remebering him, the man who fought beside him. And he has to deal with all this anger he's carried, the betrayel, and realize that Lian and Junjie were victims too.
And the Slugs. Dlugs like Joo-Joo, who were gooned for 20 years!
Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

An unsolicited thought-vomit on the manhwa; A Stepmother's Märchen.
I love it. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
This is one of those rare manhwas where the art is as excellent as the storyline. I will be approaching this as someone who has only read the manhwa and not the novel.
Some criticism I've heard of is that it's too heavy for some people and that it's slow at the beginning. I honestly think that's mostly because the political intrigue is a main plot instead of a side-quest to the romance. So at the beginning, the author and artist was definitely laying down the seeds for all of the things currently happening in the manga. The political intrigue is well done as well, it's not everyone vying for power like in asoiaf but a certain group of people who would definitely benefit from gaining more power like Theobald, the Crown Prince, and the Church (Cardinal Richelieu).
It's also addresses class difference through Nora and his friends. Nora as the highest of nobility is very privileged in terms of material wealth and social status compared to his friends who are humble townspeople. Nora himself has genuine care and relationships with them and while not "relatable" they can get on easily. This all comes to a head when they decide to go to Nora's house (more like castle) and that's when they're fully confronted by the fact that Nora is not like them at all. I completely understand the bitterness of one of his friends (the blond one) when he decided to end their friendship, because he has a point. The defense from the other friends that Nora's grandfather and father are heroes who fought valiantly in a war, is contrasted by Blondie's (I'm sorry, I can't remember his name) remark that his father fought valiantly in the war too, his father gave up his profession and livelihood and came back with an injury that debilitated his ability to do things like before. And where is the appreciation for that? Compared to Nora's family who are lauded as heroes and probably received things like land/titles from the emperor simply because they are nobility. Nora is angered when Albrecht (his father) tells him about the confrontation with his friends, to which Albrecht says that he shouldn't be hanging out with them in the first place. In the perspective of his friends, it's frankly insulting for Nora to wear less-fine clothes and hang around them (pretending to be them in a way) even though Nora has always been honest about his identity as a noble to them but they have never been confronted with that reality until they visited Nuremberg Castle.
The fact that Shuri time-traveled seems to be more of a sidenote than something of actual relevance. By relevance, I mean to say that she died horribly in her first life but she isn't really looking for revenge. She's looking to secure the Neuchwanstein kids' futures and also she genuinely wants a bond with them that she didn't have in her first life because ultimately, Shuri wants to love and to be loved. As much as I love villainess manhwa, I also love manhwa where the characters just want to happily live their lives.
Speaking of happily living their lives, I've seen Ohara getting hate for wanting to marry Jeremy for power/security. I think as a child who witnessed her mother being the love of her father's life, only to be discarded when her beauty waned to the point she died alone in her rooms affected her very deeply of course. Her mother straight up tells Ohara to not marry for love but for security, because love can fade but her title as the lady of the house will never and she's basically set for life and won't be as hurt as her mother was when her husband's love eventually fades. Ohara's dislike for Shuri at first is because of the power Shuri seems to hold over Jeremy. Ohara doesn't need to be the number one woman in Jeremy's life, she only requires him to treat her as such so she will not be degraded or belittled like her mother was. Her father seems to be very open with his affairs, considering one of his mistresses made the decision to 'introduce' herself to Ohara in a very public ball with the intention to humiliate her. Ohara doesn't want her or her marriage to be the subject of public scrutiny and while Jeremy's affection for Shuri in their first life was not obvious I think to the casual viewer, Ohara as someone who knows Jeremy and his ticks could probably see that easily. Her request for Shuri not to attend the wedding in their first life was a way for her to guarantee that they will appear as the 'perfect' couple in the eyes of society, because then Jeremy won't be distracted by Shuri. Also, the blame put on her because Shuri was murdered because she didn't come to the wedding is mind-blowing. Ohara was a 16/18 year old young woman trying to secure herself, she didn't plan Shuri's murder or something. In their first life, Shuri was going to get murdered either way whether she went to the wedding or not because the Church decided they were going to kill her and nothing Ohara said/did was ever going to change that because this 16/18 year old girl was not in on the plot to get Shuri killed at all.
I also really enjoyed the way the romance was written. I personally do not think that Jeremy's feelings for Shuri are not incestuous as Shuri is only 2 years older than him and she has never tried to position herself as a mother to him despite being his stepmother. As for the sibling incest vibes? Shuri considers Jeremy as something of a younger brother, but I don't think Jeremy has ever considered Shuri as his older sister/sister. One might argue that it's because he calls her 'sister', but in a lot of cultures (including my own) a girl who is older than you but with not much of an age gap between you guys, whether you are related to her or not is called 'sister/elder sister'. This is why Nora, who Shuri very much has romantic feelings for, also calls her 'sister' at least in the translations I have read.
Theobald's feelings for Shuri on the other hand? Now that's some mommy issues right there. I could go on about this boy, but I'm not going to because he deserves his own post. I'm not unpacking that can of worms just yet because then I'll have to unpack the can of worms that is Ludovica.
Honestly, I can't wait for the second season and for me to binge it.

My thoughts on Bucky’s new occupation!
Minor spoilers from Captain America Brave New World! Read at your own discretion !

So just saw Captain America Brave New World yesterday, and I have some thoughts on the direction marvel is taking Bucky’s character, and I need to talk about it.
So, I’m not the biggest fan of Bucky’s decision to go into politics, and the reason isn’t because of my dislike to talk about them. The reason is, I just don’t see Bucky going into that after everything he’s been through.
Think about it, the poor guy has literally been through hell. He fought in multiple wars, brainwashed so many times, suffers from ptsd and the guilt of the people he was forced to unalive against his will, lives in a world that is so different from what he was born into, family-less, his best friend and basically only family he had left him for a girl he didn’t know for too long (at least as long as Bucky had known Steve. That’s a rant for another time), he was kicked out of the one place that he felt PEACE, his therapist was a piece of crap, etc.
I’m probably missing some others, but it’s 4am so cut me some slack, okay? My point is, this dude has been through so much in his life. He deserved some peace and quiet, and going into politics, a occupation that is very heavily loud (I’m not trying to get too political myself by saying this. Please don’t take it that way. I’m just saying generally/realistically), just doesn’t seem like something Bucky would do after everything he’s been through. Obviously that’s just my opinion, but I truly don’t see Bucky doing that.
What I picture is Bucky living on a farm away from the city, has a few goats like what he had in Wakanda. Possibly settling down with a nice dame if he found somebody. Also, ALPINE???
A domestic, happy, simple life, if you will.
I’m not too sure about this, as I unfortunately have not read every Bucky comic out there, but this may explain why they decided to write him in that direction is because he was a politician in one of the many other storylines, and they wanted to pay tribute to that aspect (they do that a lot in the movies so it’s possible. Also one of the What If...episodes I think too. Wasn’t he like the president or something? I could be wrong. I need to rewatch the series haha).
Anyways. That’s my personal opinion on this aspect to Bucky’s character. We’ll see in Thunderbolts* when it comes out this May what direction they’ll take it. I hope they at least explain why Bucky would want to join that occupation because I just don’t see it as of rn. I really hope it’s good, because Bucky deserves a good movie while he’s one of the main characters, not side, like he’s been for so long. I literally cannot wait for it. I have not stop theorizing and thinking about it😅
That’s all for now, I suppose. Thanks for coming to my ted talk. Do you agree or disagree with my opinion on this? I’d love to hear your thoughts on it. Whatever way you lean, feel free to discuss in the comments, just please do so respectfully. Have a great day/night, everyone🙂

severus is "the quiet kid from athena cabin" but lily's good friends with him
sirius and james don't like him at first because he and sirius just clash (they both want to be the smartest of every room they're in and refuse to agree on anything) and james thinks he's being impolite to lily when he doesn't always respond to her, but he eventually understands that sev's just quiet and the two of them hash it out
pandora and evan are the weird iris kids. that's just who they are.
andromeda is the head counselor of the iris cabin. pretty much everybody knows her. she's been on a ton of quests and rumor has it she fought a harpy once.
andromeda and ted are like the parents of the camp, ted is also the head healer of the infirmary
emmeline is best friends with xeno, she sort of adopted him when she arrived at camp because he seemed lonely and she needed a tour guide.
meanwhile at camp jupiter...
remus and mary have been there since forever but they don't really get along with each other
remus is friends with regulus and barty (he finds barty annoying) and mary is friends with dorcas
narcissa and alice are older, narcissa is very broody and mysterious but everyone sees right through it. alice has a big fat crush on her.
after xeno gets with pandora, emmeline starts hanging around snape so she can give xeno some alone time with his girlfriend. like with xeno, it works because sev prefers to listen and emmeline really likes to talk.
relationships (romantic):
james/lily (past) - james and lily dated when they were younger, probably like 13, but decided to stay friends at the end of the summer. lily realizes she's lesbian soon after
sirius/marlene (past) - they also date for about two seconds before sirius realizes he doesn't see marlene like that and marlene realizes she is definitely not into guys
alice/frank (past) - they kiss once and then alice complains to frank about narcissa not liking her back and he does some super sleuthing to prove that narcissa is, in fact, gay for her
pandora/xeno (endgame) - pandora and xenophilius start dating when they're 15, they usually go out stargazing to avoid evan following them around and third-wheeling
sirius/remus (endgame) - remus starts crushing on sirius almost immediately after he first meets him when the camps are introduced to each other. they start dating like 3 months later and remus complains about his crush to reg and barty the whole time.
james/regulus (endgame) - they don't get along at first because regulus doesn't get along with anybody at first but since regulus is praetor, he speaks with "representatives" of chb like james, a head counselor, and they start to get along better and then start dating.
lily/mary (endgame) - these two are flirting with each other right away. eventually james and dorcas are basically screaming "just get together already!" so they go on a date. they're def the first cross-camp couple to get together.
dorcas/marlene (endgame) - lily and remus notice dorcas and marlene giving each other ✨looks✨ and team up to do something about it. this is how they become friends.
barty/evan (endgame) - these two take so freaking long to date. barty is enamored with evan immediately but sirius nor james really know him that well so he doesn't really have anyone to get him close to evan. then pandora notices and she's been trying to set her twin up for ages so she sets them up. evan is a little pissed that she put him on a blind date at first but he and barty hit it off.
andromeda/ted (endgame) - they're the parents of camp half-blood, they've been together for ages. that's it, that's the story. (they got together when they were 13, they're very cute, they would just bring each other flowers and eat in the infirmary together when ted had busy nights. andromeda scoffed at others for getting together so young but insists she and ted are different. they are.)
alice/narcissa (endgame) - alice has liked narcissa their whole time knowing each other and has been trying to be her friend since they first met. alice and frank kiss, which makes narcisaa jealous, and then narcissa and frank become friends when he consistently hunts her down to talk about alice. he convinces narcissa that he and alice don't like each other like that and the girls FINALLY get their shit together.
canon-compliant au
details are a lil messed up with parents being switched around and all, but here's who would be who in the different quests/prophecies. things will be similar to pjo universe events but changed some to fit the story because well... this is a riordianverse au.
these details also don't really line up with the stuff above b/c that is all structured around a more peaceful riordianverse ! down below is canon compliant stuff, as i said above. enjoy!
series 1: pjo (battle against titans)
people who the prophecy could be talking about (big 3 kids): frank, sirius, emmeline, regulus, or narcissa (tho reg and narcissa are from camp jupiter, so they're pretty much out for this one)
who ends up fulfilling the prophecy: frank, peter, and marlene -> explanation: frank is a child of the big 3 who manages to reach 16. when they're young and marlene first arrives at camp, peter gives her her first weapon - a bracelet that turns into a knife - as a welcome gift. when he betrays her by joining the titans, it curses her weapon and it's the same weapon frank gives him in order to kill kronos. rip peter 😔
frank is offered immortality but chooses to make the gods pay child support instead, what an icon
series 2: hoo (battle against gaea and the giants)
camp swap: sirius, the head counselor of chb's zeus cabin, is wiped of his memory and finds camp jupiter. mary is wiped of her memory and put on a bus with james and emmeline, who she's supposedly dating.
the seven: sirius, mary, james, emmeline, pandora, dorcas, and remus
the lost hero trio: mary, james, and emmeline
book 2 trio (wouldn't be called son of neptune because there... isn't one): sirius, dorcas, and remus
travel duo (people moving athena statue during book 5): narcissa and evan
mark of athena quest: remus (son of minerva, athena's roman form)
sirius and remus fall into tartarus (that's one way to start a relationship ig)
abilities (that cross over with hoo characters): -> sirius can fly (son of jupiter) -> mary has charmspeak (daughter of venus) -> emmeline can control gems & is basically sponsored by hecate, who teaches her to use the mist (daughter of hades)
series 3: toa (battle against nero and python)
main dude is still apollo ofc, but this time his master is lily, who's a teenager during the series (not a tween like meg)
the kids of apollo in the story are ted and alice, but ted will show up more because apollo & lily spend more time at chb
lester thinks he's destined to be w/ narcissa... she makes fun of him
the sun and the star (solangelo book)
i wanted so badly to make this jegulus but that makes 0 sense so it's nobleflower (narcissa is a daughter of pluto, alice is a daughter of apollo)
not much to say here either, tbh, but yeah. they go to tartarus and they're gay together.
closing/outro
this was so fun to make. i doubt i'll ever write it (which means others are totally welcome to, as long as they credit this post for the idea and inform me first! i'd also love to help others write it) but this was very fun to think about. i'm planning to make a part 2 with riordianverse (pjo/toa/hoo) characters at hogwarts so stay tuned for that. thanks for reading!

Monster mash
Synopsis: Vampire!Reader is captured and to be killed during the hunt. Jack and Ted to the rescue!
Jack Russell X Vampire!Reader (they/them), Platonic Ted friendship too
Sorry Avatar fans but the little werewolf guy got me (I have like 3 different vampire/werewolf blogs so this really isnt a surprise)
Sequel
The Bloodstone manor was a frankensteined mass of ancient wood, marble, concrete and metal. The old home was gutted and wired into the 21st century. There was a sprawling once overgrown garden reworked into a modernist labyrinth. With all the new amendments it was a marvel it'd retained even half of it's beauty. Though perhaps dangling from chains at the center of the maze did rob some of its charms for you.
Your arms ached after the hours hanging in that position as you tried another feeble attempt as tugging your hands free. Your toes could just barely scrape against the stone bellow and kept you from getting better leverage. Still you tried to pull yourself up the chain again even if you quickly slipped and snapped back down hard.
You yelped before you dropped your chin to your chest with a deep frustrated sigh. You'd been un-gagged once they'd hung you here, you could shout out? Though who amongst the guests would do anything but laugh at your predicament. Hell best they'd offer would be a swift end.
Your lament was interrupted by the sounds of someones approach. He moved slow and carefully into the circular garden you hung in. All hunters seemed to have striking appearances but you couldn't help appreciate his. Beautiful suit, salt and pepper hair swept neatly to the side and intricate paint framing a handsome face.
It was daft to be admiring your soon to be executioner but simple pleasures were all that remained now. So you would enjoy the curve of his lips, the slope of his nose and those dark eyes at now fixated on you.
You stared back at his now frozen form. It was a little amusing seeing him frozen mid stride like a cartoon character. Though levity turned sour quickly as you kept focus on him. The man seemed to grimace at you, a lip curling slightly before his face smoothed out again. You frowned, confused at him before he began walking towards you.
A shiver of panic ran through you. The chill of the night suddenly present and sending goosebumps across your skin. The fizzing ran to your fingers as you tugged more frantically on your restraints.
"Woah woah hey! hey!" Jack whispered as he came closer to the now frantic vampire. Verussa Bloodstone had made the horrible announcement that she'd had one caught as an extra surprise for everyone. Jack Russell had met a few in his years. Some blood crazed and beyond help but a few definitely worth protecting.
"I am unarmed, please be still!" He whispered over the rattling of the chains. He cringed, first at the sound then at the reddening skin around their hold. The vampires body was filthy, clothing tattered and hair greasy. How long had they been captured for? There was no blood on them, had they not fought back?
The vampire's body stopped thrashing a moment and they snapped a wide expression to him. He felt a lump in his throat. Even hanging there they were a vision, with beautiful sad eyes staring back at him. The momentum from their struggled kept their body turning. They kept shifting their head to try keep him in sight. Jack moved into view, circling to keep himself visible to them as he looked up at the chain's mechanism.
You watched the man with uncertain eyes. His quizzical expression as he took in the chain, the stone above it was affixed to, it's anchoring. Your heart rate settled as you observed him, his calaveras paint made the little changes to his expression more visible in the low light. He didn't look like was going to strike a blow any time soon.
"My names Jack...Um...can I just..." He stammered as he stepped closer. You remained frozen, raising an eyebrow to him. "I'm going to see if I can get you down..." He continued, mumbling his words.
Jack stepped in closer again, meeting your eyes again with his hands raised. Waiting for permission to touch you?
"Please." You said, not liking how horse it came out in front of this hunter. Then his face split into a crooked smile that sent butterflies straight to your stomach.
Meanwhile Jack tried to stop the shake from his hands as he wrapped his arms around their legs and lifted. He was momentarily surprised by the cool sensation before he realized he'd made contact with your bare legs.
"Mierda, sorry..." Jack said as he tried to adjust his hold. His lift took the weight from your arms and you couldn't help a groan that escaped your lips. The ache in your arms relieved a moment you relaxed in his hold despite your sudden nerves.
"Y/n." You said, still keeping your eyes on him.
His hands felt hot against your skin and sent a buzz through you. This close you could catch the scent of him easier. It was intoxicating, one part deep forest in the rain with a touch of musk and something warm. It awakened an entirely different hunger.
Jack tried desperately to avoid your gaze locked on him, instead focusing on the chain. He felt bad enough for gripping your thigh even if your sigh proved he'd helped ease the pain. Still it was no time to be ogling you especially in such a compromised position.
"With the slack, do you think you could free your hands?" Jack asked. You shifted in his grip, leaning into him as you tried to tug the knotted chain. You could feel the heat radiating from him but tried to remain focused on the task at hand.
Your scent all but consumed Jack now. His face so close to the base of your throat and chest. It took enormous will power for him not to nestle in closer and take it in. He felt embarrassed enough with how fast his heart was pounding, he didn't want to add to that.
"Someone's coming." You whispered. You paused your attempt to quiet the rattling and listened out. Past Jack's heartbeat you heard another, slower and approaching.
Jack cursed, lowering your legs slowly and gently before shifting away. A panic bubbled in you again. He was going to leave you here? Of course he was, he was a hunter wasn't he? Then he turned back, soft hazel eyes locking onto yours.
"I'm here for my friend, Ted, I'll draw them off, find him then we'll come back for you okay?" He promised with a sincerity in his smile that had you convinced in a second. You nodded, smiling tightly back at him.
Jack ran off into the maze, shoes slapping loudly against stone. The approaching hunter veered off course and you listened to them fade away. Then you were alone again, pain singing loudly up your arms.
You started swinging your legs. At first in some attempt for escape but it gradually grew into a way to waste a little time. Ticking like a pendulum in the growing chill of the night. You hoped Jack would be back before your arms died entirely.
You were brought out of your daze by a fresh scent lilting through the breeze. The familiar notes of nature but different, fresher somehow? You stilled your waving legs, letting your rocking slow until you were hanging rigid.
The smell lingered, strong and close but you couldn't hear the pattering of Jack. Though as you strained you did hear another heart approach. Then another behind you beating strong and steady. You were going to try turn when another hunter entered the circle.
He wasn't Jack. He was taller, broader and his smirk was cruel. He stalked forward like a predator, eyes raking up and down his prey. You squirmed under his gaze and let out a low hiss.
"Well, pretty sure you were meant to be a prize for the winner~" He purred as he approached. He put a hand on your hip before harshly pushing you. The chain spun you in circles as he laughed.
"Oh this is just too good!" He jeered. You thrashed violently, trying harder to pull free.
In glimpses you saw his laughing face, then something looming behind him, then a mass of roots and nature and blazing red eyes. Then he was screaming in a burst of bright flame, flesh searing and turning to ash in the claws of the hunts real target. A creature unlike any you'd encountered before but that held that same earthy scent Jack had.
"...Ted?" You breathed out. You had to suppress a squeak when the creatures massive head snapped up to you. The pieces seemed to fall in place in that second as Ted's face shifted, his eyes softening to you.
"Ted!" You smiled gently as his great clawed hand reached to you, stilling your spinning with the ease of just one finger. "Your friend Jack was here."
Ted's eyes widened and a low grumbling came from deep in his chest. He sounded surprised but appreciative, though whatever words were in the rumble escaped your ears. You didn't even have to ask as his other hand gripped the chain. It melted away and you dropped to your feet, what was left clattering from your wrists to the stone floor.
Your balance was gone and you tipped forward on unsteady legs. Ted's hand was raised still and you caught yourself on his thumb. He looked to you with sympathetic eyes as you tried to stretch out the strain in your shoulders.
"Thank you Ted," You said, patting his hand as you tried your legs again. More stable this time you took a few steps and feeling seemed to return to you. "We should stay low, avoid the hunters until we can find your friend?" You asked.
Ted nodded deeply shifting back the way he'd come, pausing briefly and looking over his shoulder to you. You jogged after him, glad for him accepting to your tagging along.
You shifted quietly through the maze, listening carefully before taking corners. It was harder for Ted, the bloodstone was affixed to his shoulder and seemed to be causing some amount of pain. Every few steps he growled against the sting.
Another hunter passed ahead and Ted grabbed your body in one hand. He dove back into the shrubbery with you now dangling in his hand. It was odd to be held by him, feeling more like hanging from a tree limb than a hand. Vines and moss seemed to grown against his skin, little glimpses of flowering plants amongst blades of grass up against his shoulders. He was a lovely creature and the idea of the others hunting him made you suddenly furious.
Ted made an odd grumble turning slightly. You wanted to ask but where sure now you'd only be met with more grumbling growls. He let out a louder roar pushing a clawed hand through the shrubbery.
You primed yourself to pounce out for a fight but the rumbling in Ted's chest sounded more like a pleasant chuckle.
"Hey! hey! What's up?" Jack cooed. Through the ivy Jack met eyes with his old friend, a delighted smile spreading across his face. He reassured him through the small space before Jack spied Ted's other hand.
"Oh you found them! Good good, this makes things a whole lot easier!" He grinned up at you with a slight wave. You returned it, wobbling unsteadily in Ted's grip, before holding back onto his hand.
"Oh...um Ted? Maybe you could let them down again?" Jack smiled nervously. Ted rumbled a response but gently placed you back on your feet. "Well yes but they are okay now, right?"
Jack's eyes met your confused expression.
"You understand him?" You asked.
"Yes of course." Jack answered matter of factlly before moving on to share his plan. You shrugged to yourself before you heard another approach.
Jack and Ted both reacted too. Ted immediately had you by the shoulders and was pulling you off to hide again, whilst Jack scrambled away. You ran along side Ted keeping pace with his strides. He wailed again as the bloodstone burned against his skin.
Pity for him swelled again. Ted was being so kind to you, he didn't deserve to be trapped in here in so much pain. Jack at least understood that too but why was still a mystery. Hunters of the past may have had a different code but these days it was kill first ask questions never. Why was he different?
You hid again against the smooth stone peaking into the gloom for anyone sneaking up on you both. Ted slumped against the ivy with a groan. Still he kept an eye down the other side with his back to you. You were glad he seemed to trust you, it'd been a while since you'd had a real ally.
Ted's claw hooked your arm, tugging you towards the shrubbery. You turned spying the bearded hunter approaching it. You stiffened ready to pounce if he drew too close but he was distracted. Another hunter yelled to him and he spun.
Ted reached a hand out gripping the hunters head and setting it ablaze. You leapt out to the other hissing and bearing fangs but stilled. Her weapons were lowered and her hands raised so you snapped your mouth shut. Ted roared furiously at her but she remained still, then she addressed him.
"Your friend is waiting for you both." She explained.
Ted grumbled pleasantly his body relaxing as Elsa lead you both back through the labyrinth. You jogged on the rear keeping a head spinning back for the other hunters. You could hear them all around, approaching the thundering footsteps of your new friend as he ran.
An explosion rang out ahead of you, Elsa diving to the side as some rumble from the wall bust out towards her. You slowed to a stop as Ted ran ahead to the gash in the external wall. Elsa flung a grapple out pulling the stone from his back as he ran out.
He bellowed pleasantly and you couldn't help but laugh. Elsa and Jack beamed as you jogged towards the hole. The stone shone on the floor, angry red light that made your eyes water. You practically snarled as you passed it and sprinted across the grass.
You paused when you heard a strange sound, followed by a grunt. Where was Jack? In the gloom you could make out the hunters circled around him, prone on the ground. What was he doing?
"Ted! Ted stop!" You called quietly as you tried to catch up to him. He stilled vines whipping out from his body as he turned. Ted chirped and tilted his head to you.
"Jack! Something happened he's still back there." You exclaimed. Ted made a groaning sound before he scooped you up again. You'd stopped being surprised by this now and instead gripped onto the moss of his back when he placed you there. He could be surprisingly nimble for such a large creature, moving swiftly back through the labyrinth and up to the manor.
"Wait stop here." You called slipping down off his back to land on the ground. "I'll sneak in here, we have to figure out how to go about this without getting caught again."
Ted grumbled some approval looking around before pointing off to the glass domed roof. You nodded and he jogged off towards it as you kept low around the side of the building. There were windows and doors but the likely hood of an alarm being triggered was high.
It took some time by you found your way to an open door. An elderly man walked through and past into the halls of the home. You wedged a foot in the gap letting him walk on before slipping through.
For an awful few moments you worried an alarm would blare. That they somehow had more security that would descend on you again. Had you fought harder, risked killing those who hunted you first maybe you'd never have ended up here. Then again if you had perhaps you'd still be alone.
All signs showed you were too late. A commotion in one of the rooms drew your focus and you slipped in with armored figures before the doors shut. Jack was gone and Elsa remained in a cage at the center looking terrified. The other figures spun around the room but missed your sudden appearance. It was only when a werewolf dropped from the ceiling you realized you were the least of their concerns right now.
You rushed the cage as attention fell upon the figure tearing into the security. You could barely take your eyes off the attack. Wild fur, pointed ears, snarling and claws. All was a blur of motion and snapping.
"Elsa!" You called to her. She was already moving to climb out of the cage but you bent the bars ahead of her. She frowned a little but smiled to you with a curt nod. She clambered out as your eyes focused again on the werewolf, preparing to fight back if it came to that. Something in it's scent caught you then, a warm musk and his face still painted.
"Christ is that Jack?" You asked watching again as the werewolf leapt to another foe. Elsa didn't respond just rushing to the wall to grab a sword before the hunter in white reappeared. It had to be right?
You sensed the hunter diving to the side as they took a swing. You tucked and rolled bashing into the wall. You looked up stunned feeling the nights events hitting you harder now than before.
The bloodstone matriarch was in front of you the vibrant stone flashing and you hit the wall again. You let out a shriek and collapsed to the ground, black spotting in your vision as you spied Jack hurling himself at her.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jack awoke as he did most nights after a full moon, though maybe feeling a little worse than normal. His body ached from the change, his mind reeling and confused as he tried to piece together the events that lead him here.
A soft song drifted on the morning breeze as he groaned pulling himself out towards Ted. He struggled to his feet, cloak wrapped around his naked body against the morning chill. Ted offered him tea and he took it moving to sit with his friend as he recollected himself.
His hands shook. Elsa? He'd been trapped in there with her. He asked Ted but his conscious was clear. She was fine and well back at the manor. Ted and him joked as he began to feel more himself. The night coming back to him in reverse he was startled by another thought.
"Wait our new friend, y/n, the vampire?" He asked Ted in a sudden panic. Ted shifted his leg chirping an explanation. He'd smashed into the estate, scooped up this one and took them with him as he ran off to find Jack. They now laid curled up in the shade Ted provided at his feet. Sleeping soundly in the dewy grass it seemed.
Jack admired their peaceful expression before Ted mumbled something. Jack felt the heat rise to his cheeks and he huffed.
"No! I was just worried they were still caught is all." He grumbled, crossing the cloak in tighter as he buried himself in the tea. Still considering Ted seemed to have taken a liking to their new friend, perhaps it wouldn't be so hard to convince them to come along?
