So danny, sam and tucker are all reaching their breaking points,

Danny with his parents hunting phantom, the rouge gallery still coning in and the looming responsibility of being ghost king

Sam is getting tired of the neverending expectations and criticism from her parents and the lack of support from anyone not danny of tucker

And tucker from the frustration of not being able to fight back against bullying without making more problems

Their all reaching their breaking points

So during one of dannys ghost king classes he discovers that alternate universes exist and that gave him an idea

After taking to sam and tucker about his brilliant idea the only thing he needs to do is convince clockwork to let him

It was easier than he thought it would, all he needed to say is that its a non-timeline-altering way to piss of the observents and he had to the ahead

When he told sam and tucker they had to green light they spent the next 2 months planning

Danny was about to show sam and tucker the WONDERFULL thing that misplaced aggression is

Everything was set up

Danny had all his equipment, experments and fun new things to use. the fenton outfit redo was beautiful even if a bit reminiscent of his parents The necklace that stopped his powers was tightly around his neck and he tucker and sam had already mapped out the drop locations

Sam had convinced overgrowth to lend her his powers and had redesign the outfit so now she looked like an angel(literaly), she had given danny and tucker some behaviour tips to get the right effect they wanted

Tucker was holding the Pharaoh staff he convinced frostbite to give him, he also redesign his outfit to a more brute punk look, with his transforming the staff into a bat, he and danny designed the perfect uncrackable coms that they all had and made sure they knew that plan, even though they might not follow it, this was about having fun remenber

And jazz had made the perfect excuse to get time alone, and had and com that she could use to cheak in ton them

With everything set clockwork opened 3 portals

Danny went though the one to gothem

Tucker went through the one to star city

Sam went trough the one to metropolis

He didn't want things to escalate with Lucas, especially when he saw how much he was struggling with keeping control. Yet, once more, music was Lucas' life and he couldn't do this, he couldn't close Lucas in a box to keep him safe from the world. It was not fair, though, a part of him wanted to. River placed his hands over Lucas as he held the cup.

River: You don't need to feel embarrassed with this. They should have set up Christmas concerts without consulting with you guys. Just because you're contract bound to them, doesn't mean you don't have a life, or family or plans of your own. Is there any way you can get out of it, if you want to? Lucas: I wish it was that easy... I really do, but they put it before Christmas, which makes it not interfere with the holidays itself, and either way, we are contract bound to perform.. a bit like puppets I guess.. Besides, they pick the desperate ones, with little or no family like me.

All he wanted was to do what River had just told him, to fake being sick, which would never work with their doctors at the ready all the time, or just don't go, but he would be picked up and sent, and if not, it would simply hurt his driver. 

Lucas: I love singing, I just don't like the rest of it.. what comes after, and a bit too often lately, before as well. 

He had noticed it, several times now people knew their hotel, and it was packed with fans hoping to see them. Some had even tried to get into their rooms which ended with them having guards by their doors. It had in general been a lot, he still wondered though, why it had suddenly felt like too much. Watching River's hands on his he could feel the tears burning behind his eyes again, he wanted to stay here, no more band, no more travel, just stay. 

Lucas: Some superstar I am, huh? River: You have family... you have me... -he gave him a small smile-

He hated that they had done this. That he hadn't met Lucas sooner, before he was alone in the world with nowhere to turn to that he'd fall prey to such a conniving scheme from a soulless music corporation. He reached forward and gently brushed the tears that escaped Lucas eyes. He just wanted to hold him, kiss him, tell him everything would be alright, that he'd find a way. His heart raced and wrenched with watching Lucas suffering and he realized more and more, the feelings Lucas had for him, he reciprocated. Was it wrong that he thought of Rylan less and less? Not that he forgot about Rylan, no, he could never. Rylan had been his soulmate. But, now, for the first time in a long time, he could see himself standing beside someone else, comforting someone else, loving someone else.

Also increasingly aware that a LOT of people "manage" getting through the 40+ hour work week by sleeping less than is healthy and relying on stimulants like coffee and energy drinks to keep them going.

For people who are unwilling or unable to do this...work really does just dominate your life. Like we really should not have to rely on unhealthy practices just to have a social life or keep on top of housework or whatever.

I know I post about this a lot but I'm so TIRED all the time and it's just so depressing that this is how we're expected to spend the one life we have.

the funniest part of any Robin meeting the JL is that every Robin is so distinctly different from the previous one in terms of personality and vibes that the league literally gets backlash. and like, I don't blame them. not to mention that they are non-meta children that dress as a traffic light and fight crime alongside batman in gotham on a nightly basis. i'd also be a bit concerned. Batman, literally The Night of Gotham personified in the League's eyes, coming into a JL meeting: This is Robin, my crime-fighting partner. 11-year-old Dick Grayson, dressed in the brightest primary colours possible, vaguely hidden murder behind those eyes, never stops moving even for a moment: Hi! Superman: That's a child. That's-- Bats that is a child. You let a child--? Batman, deadpan: You try to stop him. Would you rather he try and murder a grown man with a wire?

Batman: This is Robin. 12-year-old Jason Todd, with the biggest grin on his face, about 3 books in his hand, stars in his eyes and a distinct street-kid drawl: Hey!!! Green Lantern: That's ... that's a different child. What?? Jason: I stole his tires :) Batman: Tried to. Jason, stage whispering to the League: basically did. Green Lantern: that is a different kid, right?? I'm not seeing shit??

you know what boils my blood.

over the last 2 weeks, i've seen countless patients walk into my urgent care center, symptomatic for so many things, refusing to get tested for covid and flu, citing that they don't want to knowingly bring it to their holiday tables. i had a patient tell me, verbatim, "i don't want to test for covid, because i don't want to be the asshole who brings it on a plane."

i understand that - i understand that holidays are times where people look forward to meeting loved ones that they might only see once a year, or where they get a break from the hectic back and forth of their lives.

but here's the thing - whether they get tested or not, they will bring whatever they have to their holiday tables. it's pure recklessness to know that you're sick, and walk into someone else's house spreading the disease.

today, january 2, i saw 91 patients, many of them who have tested positive for covid and flu. many of these patients are the same ones who didn't want testing 3 days ago, until their events were over, and now, they will have to reach out to everyone they know to let them know that they were positive because they were showing symptoms well before their event.

the next week or two? we're going to see many, many more, all people with symptoms that started around christmas. these are the only two viruses we test for rapidly in our office, but they are potent and can be fatal in many people.

so here's why i wrote this post, and maybe it's a little late, but - if you care about your loved ones, please get tested if you know you're sick. it doesn't have to be at a clinic if you don't want it to, because the over-the-counter tests work just fine too (if you test within 5-7 days of symptom onset). just...please don't try to run from the knowledge that you might have covid, because immunocompromised people, elderly people, people with co-morbidities like asthma, pregnancy, diabetes, etc...many of them may not recover. and they may not be sitting at your holiday table in the future because of it.

Gentle reminder that very little fandom labor is automated, because I think people forget that a lot.

That blog with a tagging system you love? A person curates those tags by hand.

That rec blog with a great organization scheme and pretty graphics? Someone designed and implemented that organization scheme and made those graphics.

That network that posts a cool variety of stuff? People track down all that variety and queue it by hand, and other people made all the individual pieces.

That post with umpteen links to helpful resources, and information about them? Someone gathered those links, researched the sources, wrote up the information about them.

That graphic about fandom statistics? Someone compiled those statistics, analyzed them, organized them, figured out a useful way to convey the information to others, and made the post.

That event that you think looks neat? Someone wrote the rules, created the blogs and Discords, designed the graphics, did their best to promo the event so it'd succeed.

None of this was done automatically. None of it just appears whole out of the internet ether.

I think everyone realizes that fic writing and fanart creation are work, and at least some folks have got it through their heads that gif creation and graphics and moodboards take effort, and meta is usually respected for the effort that goes into it, at least as far as I've seen, but I feel like a lot of people don't really get how much labor goes into curation, too.

If people are creating resources, curating content, organizing the creations of others, gathering information, and doing other fandom activities that aren't necessarily the direct action of creation, they're doing a lot of fandom labor, and it's often largely unrecognized.

Celebrate fan work!

To folks doing this kind of labor: I see you, and I thank you. You are the backbones of our fandoms and I love you.
