#they want trans people gone
Seriously though, fuck terfs and radfems who double down on their bullshit and tell other trans people that they're "using the murder of a child" to "further their own agenda", like really Becky?
When we get mad at the abhorrent murder of our own community and try to spread awareness, you tell us that we're disgusting pigs twisting the death of someone into an argument for our benefit, (protecting trans people. How evil, right?) while you pretend to remain ignorant to the fact that YOUR IDEAOLOGY is KILLING CHILDREN ALL OVER THE WORLD.
Make no mistake, they know that accusing us of that makes no sense, but it's the only way for them to argue their way out of being part of a movement that tells others to kill trans people.
They are cowardly hypocrits who need to twist reality to justify their hatred. They will try to gaslight people and shift blame any way they can.

And I love how gay unemployed 20 somethings on think that a vast interconnected network involving the US government, independent media, Verizon, etc, conspired to delete a couple dozen blogs on a dying blogging platform is somehow more likely than a gay unemployed twenty something disillusioned with American politics unknowingly following a sockpuppet account or two back in 2016.

I've been reading Jack Halberstam's "Trans*: A Quick and Quirky Account of Gender Variability" (it's a really good read so far; I've been meaning to delve deeper into Halberstam's work for a while now) and this passage from the second chapter struck me as expressing a particularly important point about trans and queer history:
"...historian María Elena Martínez noted the incompleteness of the historical record, the impossibility of reading 'truth' in the fragments that one finds there, and the inapplicability of contemporary models of sex and gender to historical figures, warning in general against applying terms like 'gay,' 'lesbian,' and 'transgender' or 'intersex' to figures from other eras. 'The act of mapping a category onto subjects who may not have recognized the practices, lifestyles, notions of body and self, and so forth that it references,' she writes, 'aligns itself with a genealogy of power—one that imposes, distorts, or forecloses certain desires, identifications, and experiences. It can also entail missing an opportunity to discover in the past human possibilities and imaginings that were suppressed or left unfulfilled but that can provide guidance in the present for creating better worlds in the future.' This is a beautiful passage and a subtly nuanced proposal for how to go about historicizing ambiguous bodies."

"Homophobias not a big deal anymore" okay then why are there videos of my friends and I at our pride booth on conservative Facebook pages? If homophobia isn't a big deal, why have people recorded my queer friends and I without our consent? If homophobia isn't a big deal, why have people come into our queer spaces and shout bible verses in our faces? If homophobia isn't a big deal then why have I been called slurs by random people on the road?

truly detest how pcos tags/forums/etc are absolutely crawling with terfs
#(okay to rb but stay in your lane)#maybe i just want to look and see if anyone else has experienced what i went through today without seeing someone going like#'you'll never be a REAL woman because you DON'T HAVE OVARIES#and will NEVER understand the TRUE WOMANLY EXPERIENCE of having A VERY DISRUPTIVE AND COMPLEX ENDOCRINE AND METABOLIC DISORDER'#like i think there are more important (read: actual) targets to direct our frustration at here than#[checks notes] getting mad at a trans woman for saying she relates to some of the problems caused/faced by having pcos#like. idk. the fucking medical system and lack of research/treatment options#(also. christ. reducing every person w pcos into the 'woman' category automatically bc 'ovary'.#even though it's literally an intersex condition. yikes.)#also i don't know about y'all but i don't wish this on anyone? regardless of gender??#i actually don't want trans women to have to experience this in order to be considered a True Woman#because i don't want ANYBODY to have to experience this. it sucks! it's not fucking fun!#i just wanted to try and see if other people have gone through the same thing i have. not expand my blocklist by half a mile tonight.#i wanna talk about me#even though i didn't exactly find what i was looking for (😔) and i had to play fucking whack-a-terf while searching#if there's any bright side to be found it's the number of posts/people affirming pcos as an intersex condition/identity#i saw someone say 'if you don't want the [intersex] umbrella for yourself you don't have to take it#but it's nice to have in the closet for a rainy day'#and. man. yeah.

A well known Saudi trans woman on twitter was manipulated, tricked, and kidnapped back to Saudi Arabia from DC by a group of “security specialists” hired by her family so they could forcibly detransition her, which led to her suicide. She posted her suicide note yesterday on twitter, naming the people who facilitated in her kidnapping back to her abusive family, who include members of extreme religious groups like the Heritage Foundation, and today her family posted her funeral services announcement, misgendering and deadnaming her along the way. The evil in this world is horrific. I’m so heartbroken and sad to see this girl I admired snuffed out this way, and I pray justice is served for the Americans who helped set her up to be kidnapped, abused, and driven to her death.
Justice for Eden.

If you ever see me becoming one of those transmisandry people, please fucking call me out immediately.
#it shouldn't happen though i am too triggered by MRA-lite material#i can't see that changing any time soon even though i haven't had exposure to the content for like 10 years#the transmisandry discourse on this site melts my brain it's awful it's just online stuff being argued about more online stuff#this is not the same as me saying i will never be treated badly for being transmasc i am not stupid i know that happens#and i am fully committed to fighting the patriachy which has nothing whatsoever to do with my individual manhood or anyone else's#it's a system and yes gender and how we fit into the patriachy is made extremely complicated in trans circles and that's ok!#i promise it is you don't have to design a new system that cis women and trans women are using to do oppression on specifically trans mascs#we're all being fucked over by the patriachy and how the fuck does it help to be divided#but in reality let's face it i can say this all i want but the real reason i'm never going anywhere near being a transmisandry person#is because i was exposing myself to MRA-lite content at a formative age and harming myself in the process#even if i didn't know i was a trans man guess what it would have harmed me just as much if i did have that awareness#and honestly when i see transmisandry discourse all i see is that fucking triggering stuff again#all it does is nitpick whether patriachy is real with tiny examples it doesn't talk systemicly and it doesn't help men in the slightest#it pays lipservice to marginised men but it has no interest in talking about the fact that men are usually simultaenously#oppressed and oppressor at the same time- this is not accusatory it is just factual#it's true of the queer community too and basically every community#but we can't seem to talk about it without just harming each other and blaming and not seeing each other as human#the internet makes it all so much fucking worse this stuff can't exist without it#anyway i'm super rambling but these are genuinely very triggering topics for me i have unfollowed people i LOVE becuase of this#and i still love them! unfollowing on a social media isn't a referendum on that i just can't see that stuff and i need it gone from my dash

oh boy the depression hole is deep and it is muddy
hahaha I fell into the classic trap! overidentify with your job and considering leaving it will trigger an existential crisis!!!!
#red said#i think it's really fucking happening#i got lunch with my work bff yesterday. she's seriously looking for her next thing.#2 other people in our 9 man team have told me in confidence they're looking elsewhere as well#the work bff is a team manager and she's like yeah I'm helping everyone buff up their CVs and think about what they want#and i. do not think my boss is coming back.#she's extended her mat leave by 2 months already. i think she stepped away and realised. rightly. there's more to life than this shit.#it's not that the organisation is downsizing or any of us are in danger of redundancy#but the vibe has changed big time. it's so much more corporate and less interested in lived experience.#i think the proportion of people in senior management who have even second hand experience with homelessness is shrinking#like the last time our CEO did frontline work was like 1990. and they're expanding the management team constantly#but they're all outside hires and not people who've done frontline or community work. they're the career charity worker types.#the only things keeping me are. i want to at least get to that initial union open meeting and get the ball rolling enough#that it might have a cat's chance in hell of happening without me#and i want to get gears turning in the EDI group to get a commitment a) to acknowledge that we have a whiteness problem#and b) i want to use the funding for LGBTQ inclusion work to kickstart a project where we convene a cross-sector working group#maybe quarterly. where people working in homelessness and social support can discuss best practise for trans inclusivity#in one of the sectors where trans people are most disadvantaged in seeking support#but like if i can get movement on those things I'm fucking gone. cause the bits of my job that are my actual job?#i am getting nothing out of it now

So Youtube is doing this disgusting thing now that if you're using an add blocker, they will have a pop up that comes up at the beginning of EVERY. SINGLE. VIDEO. that pauses the video and you have to click off of the pop up. Worse yet, is you can't use Addblock OR uBlock Origin to block the popup... it's not able to... And after awhile of this... They give you the ultimatium:
Undo your addblocker... or they will stop the video player from working . After researching a bit, I've seen that no one has been able to get around this, and people have actually gotten their accounts banned on youtube... or even when logged out youtube still blocks the player from working - so maybe it's linked to IP addresses (I dunno)...
All I DO know, is that I - terrified that they would ban my account - undid my addblockers for their website so I could watch youtube (since I don't have the extra cashflow to give them the $14 a month for no adds)... and just a moment ago was slapped in the face with an add for a transphobic documentary that "tells the untold stories of those effected by this... transition" and "what the mainstream media doesn't want people to know"...
I can tell you that it really thrust my dysphoria into my face as well as basically made my mother's voice echo in my head (since a lot of the "parents" they showed in the add have the same views as her about m transition)... My therapist is going to have a FIELD DAY with this when I go see her... although right now I just want to not exist really.
I put in feedback yesterday about how some people have addblockers for their health - not just physically and mentally, but also emotionally too - and of course today... one of the first videos I watch on youtube... and I get THAT as an add... coincidence - probably - but holy shit.
