Something strange and sinister envelopes the person of John Murphy. He is only seventeen, and yet he has faced the terrors of a two-year term in Kingston penitentiary, in addition to other terms for crime. In the dock this morning he looked older than his years, but notwithstanding his remarkable experience, his face bore no traces of a criminal life.

Early morning, Sept. 25th, Plainclothesmen Brown and Kenny saw him coming along the street with four auto tires, two on each arm. He was blithe and gay and bounced along like a giddy youth going to a dance, or coming home from a rubber tire conversazione.

"Hello!" said the police.

"Hello!" said Murphy.

"Where are you going with the tires?"

"I'm going to No. 3 station," he answered.

"So are we. Jump into our car." Turning the matter over in their minds the police remembered seeing tires in a nearby window on King street west, and going along later, found that the premises of J. Bracken had been entered and four tires stolen.

Mr. Corley read the record. It was in 1914 when he was sentenced to two years at Kingston. According to that, if he is only seventeen now, he must have been under twelve years of age when sent down. Do magistrates or judges commit children to Kingston penitentiary?

"A pretty persistent young criminal," was how Mr. Corley described the young prisoner.

"He's been on the straight and narrow path for the past six months", pleaded G. C. Elgie.

"Three of the six months on the straight and narrow path.were spent in jail," remarked the Crown Attorney.

"There's a doubt," said counsel. "Well, I haven't it," relied the colonel.

Then the lad who had been in the pen when under twelve, was committed to the jail farm for three months.

headcanon that the smaller batkids steal the bigger ones' hoodies and jackets. and by "bigger ones" I mean literally anyone bigger than them.

jason gets the short end of the stick because dick and all his little siblings take his. tim's the only one bold enough to go for the leather jackets (well, and cass, but they're way too wide in the shoulders for her) but it's not uncommon to find dick or stephanie in a dark red or gray hoodie that smells of motor oil and gunpowder.

damian usually takes dick's hoodies, but they're very oversized on him. on the bright side, there are thumbholes in the sleeves of all dick's hoodies, so he can still use his hands. the thumbholes make them a hot commodity in the winter.

there is a tim-steph-cass jacket pipeline. steph steals tim's hoodies and cass takes them from steph. hence tim stealing jason's leather jackets -- steph won't take them, so he gets to hold on to them until jason realizes and takes them back. sometimes cass will also steal duke's hoodies, but she always returns them clean and neatly folded (unlike how it goes with the rest of the family, in which they are returned only under threat of blackmail or with long rounds of negotiation).

this is an extremely long-standing ring of jacket theft. you cannot leave a hoodie unattended in wayne manor. damian doesn't actually own any hoodies, and cass only owns one, because there's so many other people in the house to "borrow" one from. nowhere is safe. steph once broke into dick's apartment to steal his warm hoodie, the one with the fuzz on the inside.

but it goes the other way sometimes. jason leaves things in the pockets of his leather jackets for tim -- film for his camera, hand sanitizer, half-filled punch cards for local coffee shops with "drink water too, fucker" written on the back. cass will tuck little slips of paper in the cuffed sleeves when she leaves hoodies out. the notes don't say anything, but they have little smiley faces and hearts on them, and steph has taken to doing something similar with corny jokes. dick just straight-up leaves candy in the hoods of his jackets.

it's a game, it's a love language. it's simultaneously annoyance and affection. there's nothing like wearing a hoodie that's too big for you, that smells like your family, to make you feel safe.

Good morning.

A very kind follower let me know that my clones art has been stolen and reposted, again. This time on Tiktok.

So here's a new version of my art. It's called: "Apparently putting 'Do Not Repost' on the art 4 times + in my bios of every social + FAQ isn't enough, so how's this?!"

I'm feeling very defeated and exhausted.

I just finished filing a DMCA yesterday. This new art theft version already has more views than every like/note on all versions of my art on all of my socials COMBINED + multiplied. This art was only posted a few days ago. I'm beginning to deeply regret drawing it.

Art thieves getting views and likes does NOTHING for the community. Imagine of those likes/comments/followers had come to me, on any of my socials. Think of how excited I'd be to connect to new folks, how hyped I'd be to draw more.

(how maybe, just maybe, someone official might one day notice and it might lead to more😭)

I don't think I've hit 10K likes on ANY art I've ever posted on Twitter in 8 years, and certainly nowhere near that on Tumblr in a while. That's ok, I understand that's due to my own lack of skills, which is why i work hard daily to improve!

But ART THEFT DOESN'T HELP. This person did NOTHING but stress me out, make me regret sharing my work, and take away valuable time and mental energy from me producing more work. And I promise you, they will not be able to make my art for you.

Don't worry, I'm not just complaining about it. I've filed a DMCA (tho gosh TikTok's form is WEIRD, really hoping it worked🥲)

But please. If you see an art theft account, please don't give them views & likes. Someone else worked hard on that. They could really use your support.

🚨ART THEFT WARNING🚨

This is a PSA for fellow artists that @/orendaforest has taken to tracing my art and passing it off as their own. They have used my lines for COMMISSION WORK that they profited off of and what’s more- they refuse to admit they traced my work.

I requested they take the posts that show my work down and they have, though they continued to deny having traced anything. They’ve ONLY taken the posts on tumblr down, not any of the work from their cardd or other media. I’m not sure if there are other artists works who have been taken, but figured it safer to make a post. Below are the pictures they had on their blog and the pieces they traced overlayed on top:

I have since blocked them and urge others to do the same. This is so incredibly infuriating and in turn makes it hard for me to feel like sharing my art- even though I need to to help support myself. Please be vigilant and if you see something, say something. Theft is theft.

Additionally, if anyone knows the people who commissioned some of these pieces (or are the commissioner themself) please feel free to contact me in DM’s. I’d like to make them aware of this ASAP so they know the situation!

please for the love of god stop putting high opacity watermarks on your art! i know art theft scary but what's the point of protecting your art if it means no one gets to see it anyway? especially on a site that is designed to act as a reference hub!

(no these are not guaranteed to prevent art theft, but nothing is. obnoxious watermarks however are guaranteed to scare off actual viewers and potential customers, and make life difficult for any artist you try to commission)

"10 Stolen Tires Found by Police," Windsor Star. July 22, 1943. Page 5. ---- Ten stolen automobile tires are being held for identification by the Windsor office of the Ontario provincial police this morning. The tires were found hidden among some trees in Anderdon Township near Amherstburg last evening.

Sergeant Dave Duncan and Constable Frank Scott brought the tires back to Windsor. Some of the serial numbers had been filed off but the officers have identified most of the tires in spite of this.

The tires are all in very good condition. Most of them are of American manufacture and were stolen from cars belonging to cottagers in the Amherstburg district.

hi, do not make ai content from voice actors' work. that includes voice lines from games, shows, etc. you are not entitled to use their voice as you please. that is their tool, that is how they earn a living, and more importantly, it is a part of their person.

i'm blocking anyone i see using ai chatbots, ai image generation, or ai voice mixes. if you're not interested in treating the works of artists with respect and refuse to discontinue use of ai mechanisms, then save me some trouble and block me yourself. thanks
