Belos - First Vicar of the Blood Coven

Centuries ago a mysterious figure revolutionized the Boiling Isles' approach to magic... for if the Titan was the source of all magic, and its blood a vessel of its power, why not indulge in the consumption of such holy medium and ascend witchhood in the attempt to become one with magic itself...? Such is the purpose of the Blood Coven: to study and transcend the limits of magic while defending the population from a new danger, the Scourge of Beasts.

"We are born of the blood..."

The Coven accepts any witch in its ranks, both as ruthless hunters and huntresses and as researchers for the study, refinement and administration of the Holy Medium destined to the population of the Isles. Typical motiff of the Coven's highest members is the covering of once eyes, the reasons behind such self imposed blindness is debated among the public, sparking not few rumors... from a ritualistic symbol of superiority to the idea that helps the Coven members not fall into madness from the daily horrors they fight... in few and rare occasions a peculiar set of words rumors around: "...eyes on the inside..."

The Scourge of Beasts

While monsters and dangerous creatures of all sort are far from new on the Boiling Isles, the Scourge of Beasts is a whole new deal.

A "sickness" that affect both the body and mind of one's being and twist them into a grotuesque and horrifying blood thirsty monster, rendering them a danger for anyone in their presence, a plague that takes place almost every night, and infillibly every night of full and dark moon.

The Blood Coven was the only one dealing with them through the institution of Hunters and their own Workshop in the early days, and still does for the most dangerous beasts, but through the years they hearten secondary Workshop to fight the Scourge on a more capillar level, leading to raids and hunt parties through all the Isles and quickly, the Nights of Hunt became a central aspect of Boiling Isles' culture, the blood of the Beasts a resource to harvest and refine into a myriad of concoctions, fine cocktails and other mediums, until blood, in all of its form, became another key component of the culture... a medium to be worshiped, consumed and shared... and the Hunt a chance for young and brave witches to prove themselves while keeping the Isles safe.

Very few know the true secret behind the Scourge of Beasts, of course... and often time, the revelation is enough to break someone's mind to the point of no return...

Okay, so, this is like... a half-theory, but I'm in the mood to ramble a bit;

(Warnings for Owl House spoilers, a long post, and also just generally very sad theory)

I get why King and the Boiling Isles Titan are in the same position here, it's a parallel because its father and son and whatnot. The thing I'm getting from this is that this pose (Laying down, arms out, right knee raised) is meant to be significant. It's a deliberate choice to use it in the show.

So why the hell is Caleb shown in the same position after he's killed??

My best non-threory guess is that it's just meant to be symbolism for Philip's goal to destroy witches/The Boiling Isles, but part of me feels like there's gotta be more to it than that.

Not that I really know what that "more" would be for sure, but the ideas I do have make me a bit nervous about the implications.

okay now lets get onto the theory stuff

Facts I'm going off of are;

The symbolism and parallels I mentioned above, of course.

Titan Blood is very powerful. There are several things which can only be done using titan blood (creating dimensional portals, finding time pools, and probably more), and these things are possible for anyone to preform, regardless of whether they can use magic.

Belos, as a human, uses other means to preform magic while on the Boiling Isles.

Belos is still around. What his exact status is isn't quite clear, but his corrupted form is shown in the Season 3 Poster, and he's presumably stuck in his monstrous form for the time being.

Belos appears to be currently stuck in his monstrous form, since he only manages to briefly reform his head during the fight in King's Tide

Belos' monster form can't really be stopped by common means; Using sigils seemingly helped him early on, but no longer suffice, and assumably most magic doesn't work. His best option is Palismen souls.

King is a titan. The only titan that's alive.

Dana Terrace hates "happily ever after" endings.

My theory is as follows;

Belos makes it back to the Boiling Isles somehow, assumably through whatever means Luz and Co. do (assuming that Dana doesn't go for the exceptionally brutal ending of there being exactly 0 ways home).

Once back, he next needs to find a way to turn back to his human form, just for his own sake in some way. (Possibly so he can attempt to try and salvage things and resume his rule as Emperor of the BI.) There aren't many palismen left to go around, and getting them off those that have them won't be easy, since they mostly belong to people who really don't trust Belos at this point.

But what if Titan Blood can also do it? It's the most potent source of magic available, definitely surpassing Palismen, so I don't see why it wouldn't be able to under the right conditions.

And what is the only currently known source of Titan Blood?

It's King.

If Belos were to somehow get access to the information that King is a titan, I definitely wouldn't put it past him to try and kill king to get his blood.

Okay so what if Belos finds out King is A Titan, kidnaps him, uses his blood to fix the portal, Luz never gets home, The Collector wreaks havoc and mayhem and foments disent and discord, Hunter gets killed, and Eda is rendered powerless to stop it all.

Then there's Luz's Palisman to consider... How will it hatch? When everything seems lost, then will it become some kinda cool Pokemon that frees her and is super awesome? Just thought I'd write it here.

I never fully realised how heartbreaking this "I choose the prophecy" thing is. Imagine you are Annabeth. Imagine you are fourteen and the boy you have a crush on since over a year just broke literally any rule, travelled across the whole country and held the dam sky to save you, and you hear him say: "I'm gonna die in two years, because otherwise this poor little boy would have to carry the burden of the prophecy and I can't let this happen."

Edit: I feel like y'all still aren't sobbing enough, so I'd also like to remind you that six months later, Annabeth goes into the labyrinth and gets the prophecy "and your love will face a fate worse than death".

Formless creatures of unfathomable nature... the proof that the Eldritch Truth and the Arcane are truely something to be pursued... question is... would one pay the price?

The Child of the Star seeks the blood too... his promised companion, once stolen and now obscured by all sight, even from those with eyes on the inside...

The Secret Runes of the Blood Coven.

While Glyphs do exist, rapresenting the physical elements of the world, these Runes are the words manifested of eldritch knowledge passed on from the Great Ones, transcribed by the skilled witches of the Bard Coven... for the most part.

"Hunt"
