EPISODE TEN: VAMPIRE KILLER

It opened its mouth for what I then realised was the first time since we met it, and I could see nothing inside save for a dozen long, thick, pointed teeth.

the vampires strewn throughout the magnus archives podcast universe are such a wild concept.

its like 'oh yeah there a vampires that look human but cant talk, use hypnosis to lure in their victims and have a mouth full of shark teeth. theyre extremely flammable. theres two british people who made it their life mission to kill them, one is homeless and one is the daughter of a cultish serial killer. a lesbian cop's actual job she got paid for was to take people who were suspected to be vampires and kill them in the woods.'

the vampires would completely escape detection if they just pretended to be signing BSL or ASL while they spoke telepathically and that is my last thought.

He turns away, pensive and frowning, and says, "Thing is, it’s harder than it looks. What’s out there… doesn’t care about blood." Jon, grinning a little, says, "Well, I-I mean, except for the vampires…" Gerry scowls, "Yeah, obviously except for the vampires." Jon looks abashed, and Gerry looks down sorrowfully to say, "But they care about your choices, your fears, not your parents." End VD]

I’ve been picking my little sister up from school recently and don’t 100% know how to talk to a 13 year old. So far I have:

1. Ranted about the development of the vampire diaries and the differences between the books and tv show

2. Sung most of the Hamilton sound track with her

3. Played her the first few episodes of the Magnus archives

4. Played her 3 of the mechanisms albums

We also got coffee bc I’m not afraid to bribe her for love

I’m excited for the future

There is such a profound beauty of finding love within a horror story. Seeing the worst that humanity has to offer, of comprehending all the vile and grotesque actions that people can take and still choosing to find the love hidden in the terror of it all.

It's tragic. It's courageous. It's pointless. It's life-changing. Everything is hopeless, but for love's sake, it is still worth it to fight as hard as possible, despite already knowing that there will never be a happy ending.
