#trying to remember

the thing about the bats is that they're never lacking pockets. belt compartment, suit pocket, random reinforced lining in a glove, you name it. they've got a million gadgets and items hidden away on their person at any given time. getting them through a metal detector is a nightmare. and it's not all weapons -- it's weird multi-purpose tools, fear toxin antidotes in little vials, different clips for the grapple lines, etc.

the average person looks at a batkid and thinks they have ten, maybe fifteen items on them max. supers with x-ray or magic see a whole car's worth of items carefully layered under the various armor pieces and belts. and somehow every single bat knows where every single item is at any time. just like their dad <3

I like the idea that with all these women vying for your attention, the cat wins every time. Because like, they're all too busy competing with each other that the cat just casually plops herself in your lap and you start petting her while they keep bickering and all the sinners are just like... fuck why didn't I think of doing that?

In fact, any Sinner that has a pet, they automatically take a liking to you and in turn, it makes their owner jealous because you smother the animals in so much love and attention.

You know how Serpent has that giant snake? Well, in the university au it’s a regular sized snake, but boy does it love you to pieces. Multiple times has Serpent caught her little danger noodle nuzzling up to your cheek, or flicking your face with its tongue as it tries to sniff you for the umpteenth time.

Okay this is going to be random. But I need help recalling a author I read in the 90s. I can recall vaguely two books.

Book 1 an author under a pen name has a deadline to finish his book, I feel like he had some mystery in real life that inspired the book ended. At the end he faxed the last pages to his publisher and did a book reading in town.

Some other details a hot tube party with a girl he liked and I think bubble bath mess.

Book 2, teens/collage kids that are vampires a kid is recruited and to stop the killer vamps he and the girl he loves set up a trap to burn down the house. Killing them all including the vampire main character.

Book two I may have some less confidence about then book 1. I know I read so many of his books. If anyone knows this author let me know
