My vegan boss: You have to learn about how eating meat pollutes the environment and pass that on to your students
Me: I don't have to do jackshit in fact the more you talk about how I "have to" do that the more I want to go get some very meaty yeero once I'm on my way home tonight

I’m a vegetarian and tbh most of what I prefer to cook is vegan, so I like to look at vegan recipes. This is for personal and taste-based reasons, not health ones and not moral ones. But it is very difficult to find vegetarian or vegan recipes that aren’t obnoxious and ‘health’ focused. Like no, I don’t want something that is also oil or salt free, I want it to taste good! I don’t want to read about how low-calorie this dish is, I’m recovering from an ED! Please stop telling me all this and just give me tasty food ideas thank you.

Exploring the Profound Benefits of a Vegan Diet
Tumblr media
In recent years, the popularity of veganism has surged, driven by growing awareness of its numerous health, environmental, and ethical benefits. A vegan diet, which excludes all animal products, has been shown to offer a wide range of advantages for both individuals and the planet. From improving cardiovascular health to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, the benefits of adopting a vegan lifestyle extend far beyond the plate.
Improved Heart Health:
One of the most well-documented benefits of a vegan diet is its positive impact on heart health. Research consistently shows that plant-based diets are associated with lower risks of heart disease, stroke, and hypertension. By eliminating cholesterol-rich foods like meat, dairy, and eggs, and emphasizing nutrient-dense fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes, vegans can significantly lower their levels of LDL cholesterol and blood pressure, reducing the risk of cardiovascular complications.
Lower Risk of Chronic Diseases:
In addition to heart disease, a vegan diet has been linked to a reduced risk of other chronic diseases, including type 2 diabetes, certain cancers, and obesity. Plant-based foods are rich in fiber, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, which play crucial roles in supporting overall health and immune function. By focusing on whole, unprocessed plant foods, vegans can help protect themselves against a host of preventable diseases and improve their long-term well-being.
Weight Management:
For those looking to manage their weight effectively, a vegan diet can be a valuable tool. Plant-based foods tend to be lower in calories and saturated fat compared to animal-derived products, making them ideal for weight loss and weight management. Additionally, the high fiber content of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains helps promote feelings of fullness and satiety, reducing the likelihood of overeating and aiding in weight control.
Environmental Sustainability:
Beyond personal health benefits, adopting a vegan diet also has significant environmental implications. Animal agriculture is a leading contributor to deforestation, habitat destruction, water pollution, and greenhouse gas emissions. By abstaining from animal products, vegans can significantly reduce their carbon footprint, conserve water resources, and mitigate the negative impacts of agriculture on biodiversity and ecosystems. Transitioning to a plant-based diet is one of the most effective actions individuals can take to combat climate change and promote environmental sustainability.
Ethical Considerations:
In addition to health and environmental reasons, many people choose to adopt a vegan lifestyle out of concern for animal welfare. The factory farming industry subjects billions of animals to unimaginable suffering, including confinement, mutilation, and slaughter. By abstaining from animal products, vegans align their dietary choices with their values of compassion, non-violence, and respect for all sentient beings. Choosing plant-based foods allows individuals to live in harmony with their ethical principles and contribute to a more humane and compassionate world.
Conclusion:
The benefits of a vegan diet extend far beyond personal health, encompassing environmental sustainability, animal welfare, and ethical considerations. By embracing a plant-based lifestyle, individuals can improve their cardiovascular health, reduce their risk of chronic diseases, manage their weight, and minimize their environmental impact. Furthermore, adopting a vegan diet offers an opportunity to align one's dietary choices with values of compassion, empathy, and respect for all living beings. As veganism continues to gain momentum worldwide, it represents a powerful force for positive change, both for individuals and the planet as a whole.

You know, at this point I'm highly skeptical of things where people have a single simple solution to large scale problems that just calls for doing exactly what they think needs to be done and then everything is fixed
#today this is about a graph I just saw showing how we'd barely have to use any land compared to what we use now#if we just all went vegan#not only would less land be used for grazing; but it would also take less land to grow all the food we need to eat than we're using now#(which now that I say that I realize that seems extra nutty)#ok... so here's the problem... when you present me that good of a solution with that kind of margins...#well I really start to doubt someone isn't fudging some numbers somewhere or making gross assumptions#and not to pull a whataboutism with this but like... for real... what about the people who physically can't eat a vegan diet?#and then the practical question of cool; you're magically right... how do we get this adopted?#and what about food prices; people can swear up and down all day it's cheaper to eat health vegan food#but I have trouble keeping the pantry stocked even with meat; and I find I need to eat more with vegetarian stuff#and I'll be blunt; I point blank refuse to go vegan cause while I could maybe cut out meat#we're not even talking me being sad or something; I straight up couldn't get enough to eat without eggs and dairy#and keep in mind; I pretty much never do fast food or anything; it's more or less all made from ingredients at home#so like... magic of your chart aside where I find it's suspect#do you have a plan to subsidize food prices so I can afford to eat vegetarian?#do you have plans in place for how to look after people who physically can't go vegan?#or do you just have a fuzzy feeling about making this happen and therefore it'll just work if we'd only do it#(I'll say it again; you want to stop animals from being slaughtered to be eaten; develop high quality lab grown meat)#(cause surely the problem with people eating meat is the land use and that something has to die)#(surely you're not just being smug about a type of food being morally wrong even if all suffering could be removed from it)#(and I will switch to lab grown meat in an instant if it's price competitive and... 80% as good as good quality meat is)#anyway... this is just one example; there's a lot of stuff where it's like...#you take a simplistic view of the world and say 'just conform to my ideals already'#but you refuse to address any of the root underlying causes while representing your position as the only morally right one#sorry; we live in the real world which often means complex systems are at work#and you can be as right as you want; it won't make things better unless you actually address the causes of why things are how they are#unless you address why people do stuff like eat meat (hungry)#and unless you acknowledge stuff like that US vegans have in the past outbid people in other countries for their staple crops#cause they wanted to feel good about it; but now it means these people are becoming food insecure#or shit like how agave is being over harvested cause people don't want to eat honey despite the bees being fine...

Vegan Diet for Diabetes Management: 5 Superfoods to Add to Your List
Tumblr media
We all know how following a proper vegetarian diet is the key to keeping your blood sugar stable. Fluctuating blood sugar can give rise to various unwanted health problems. So, if you’re diabetic, you must supplement your regular meals with plant-based food. Instead of meat, you should focus more on the consumption of fiber-rich veggies and fruits. Keep reading to discover which are the 5 low-carb superfoods you need to include in your vegan diet. Connect with a reliable diabetes ayurvedic cure online retail shop to find out what type of vegetarian diet for diabetes you should go for.
Spinach
Leafy greens that are rich in healthy fibers not only fill your tummy but also assist in restricting changes in your blood sugar levels. Did you know that the glycemic index of spinach is 15? Also, the low-calorie content in spinach makes it a suitable option to manage your weight, which is essential for diabetes management.
Sweet potato
Being full of carbohydrates, potatoes are a no-no for diabetic patients. But you can always opt for pink sweet potatoes or shakarkandi that are packed with good carbs that do not metabolise quickly and maintain steady sugar levels. Having glycemic index that’s less than 55, sweet potatoes are a tasty and healthy food to include in your meals in moderate proportion.
Bitter gourd
Not that fond of the bitter taste of this vegetable? Well, keeping that aside, there’s no doubt that bitter gourd is a must-have vegetable in a good diabetes diet. The anti-diabetic properties as well as insulin-resembling compounds present in karela make it the healthiest superfood for improving your system’s insulin activity.
Orange
As per the American Diabetes Association, citrus fruits have been found to be exceptionally effective in managing blood sugar levels. Oranges have large amounts of fibers too. These fibers inside this delicious fruit don’t breakdown quickly and stay in your body for a long period, incorporating eventual release of sugar. Have whole orange instead of orange juice as the former is richer in fiber content.
Chia seeds
Full of antioxidants and packed with anti-inflammatory properties, these super seeds contain loads of fiber, iron, zinc, calcium and magnesium. Chia seeds are a fantastic choice for diabetics to regulate blood sugar and prevent diabetes-related illnesses. You can soak them in water or sprinkle them over your cereals, salads or smoothies to enjoy a wholesome plant-based diet.

Check out the history of veganism
Veganism as a concept originated in the mid-20th century. Here are some notable milestones in the history of veganism: The Vegan Society: In 1944, the Vegan Society was founded in the United Kingdom by Donald Watson and his associates. They coined the term “vegan” to describe a vegetarian diet that excludes all animal products. Ethical Motivations: While vegetarianism had been practiced for…

My whole life I’ve never liked eating meat and I’ve been a vegetarian for four years now, I’m just now learning that for people with my Blood type, Type A+, that I should have been living a vegetarian diet. Because it’s the healthiest for my body. And the arguments I’ve had with people about not wanting to eat meat and people always trying to control that aspect of my life. the audacity people have had towards my own choices. my own intuition was right again.

thought experiment for my fellow vegans and vegetarians: in the near future it is announced that scientists are now able to grow any kind of animal meat (fish and seafood included, yes, even human if ya nasty but this is a regular meat poll not a cannibalism poll so don't let that skew your choice) in labs. Lab Meat has been extensively and independently proven by your most trusted and verified sources to
have the exact flavour, texture, and nutritional profile of the real thing; it is for all intents and purposes biologically identical to "real" animal meat except it has not come from a dead animal
be completely 100% ethical from an animal welfare perspective; no real animals have experienced any harm or discomfort at any point in the manufacturing process
be completely on a par with your current chosen diet in terms of other ethical concerns (environmental impact, ethical working conditions for humans, etc etc). all ethical concerns you normally have around eating meat have been entirely accounted for & cleared by Lab Meat. yes, even that one. and that one. i know this is borderline impossible. it's a thought experiment, no whataboutism or "you forgot xyz", play along or move along. if you can think of it, Lab Meat is ethically in the clear for it.
the question is:
*reintroducing the standard range of meats eaten in your local area at a normative level for meat eaters in your culture, without any significant sweeping restrictions for health/religion/taste/etc reasons. for the sake of this poll, "omnivorous" does not have to include eggs/dairy/other non-meat animal products if you are vegan and would still choose to avoid these things for any reason. this is entirely about whether you eat The Lab Meat
**this could be in terms of quantity or in terms of eating a broader range of meats, trying "exotic" meats, etc.
***this is NOT show results. please do not answer this poll if you are not vegetarian or vegan. pescatarians or others who limit meat consumption for primarily ethical reasons can join in if you really want. but meat eaters are a majority on here and it's just not as fun if the poll is like 50+% show results, i prommy you can wait for the results if you're really curious x

"A global shift to a mostly plant-based “flexitarian” diet could reduce greenhouse gas emissions and help restrict global heating to 1.5C, a new study shows.
Previous research has warned how emissions from food alone at current rates will propel the world past this key international target.
But the new research, published in the Science Advances journal, shows how that could be prevented by widespread adoption of a flexitarian diet based around reducing meat consumption and adding more plant-based food.
“A shift toward healthy diets would not only benefit the people, the land and food systems,” said Florian Humpenöder, a study author and senior scientist at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, “but also would have an impact on the total economy in terms of how fast emissions need to be reduced.” ...
The researchers found that adopting a flexitarian diet could lower methane and nitrous oxide emissions from agriculture and lower the impacts of food production on water, nitrogen and biodiversity. This in turn could reduce the economic costs related to human health and ecosystem degradation and cut GHG emissions pricing, or what it costs to mitigate carbon, by 43% in 2050.
The dietary shift models also show limiting peak warming to about 1.5C can be achieved by 2045 with less carbon dioxide removal, compared with if we maintain our current diets.
“It’s important to stress that flexitarian is not vegetarian and not vegan,” Humpenöder says. “It’s less livestock products, especially in high-income regions, and the diet is based on what would be the best diet for human health.”
In the US, agriculture accounts for more than 10% of total GHG emissions. Most of it comes from livestock. Reducing meat consumption can free up agricultural land used for livestock production, which in turn can lower methane emissions. A potent greenhouse gas, methane is mainly expelled from cows and other animals raised for livestock. Animal production is the primary contributor to air quality-related health impacts from US food systems.
“This paper further confirms what other studies have shown, which is that if we change our diets to a more flexitarian type, we can greatly reduce greenhouse gas emissions,” said Jason Hill, a professor in the University of Minnesota’s department of bioproducts and biosystems engineering.
According to the study authors, one way to achieve a shift toward healthier diets is through price-based incentives, such as putting taxes on the highest-emitting animal products, including beef and lamb. Another option is informing consumers about environmental consequences of high meat consumption."

Astrology observations 🦩🦩🦩
Credit goes to @astroismypassion
Tumblr media
🦩Aries Moon or Scorpio Moon in a woman’s natal chart: can be tricky, because you can end up being frustrated like “I can never win (on my own), do I?”. Other people (the public, but even your own family members) will define you based on men in your life. Your dad and the partner you end up dating. You will feel like men in your life (even those you end up dating) define you too much. To the point you dating them overshadows your actual accomplishments.
🦩If you have Gemini Moon or Gemini IC: living with your romantic partner, spouse will actually drain you and your energy quite a bit. 😬 I think it’s wise to fully think through maybe even having your own space, another apartment where you can have your own alone time or even choosing an option to NOT move in together, but just hanging out in the other’s home or have “sleepovers”. Because sometimes for example, both partners have their own specifics, meaning one likes higher temperature in the bedroom than the other etc.
🦩Gemini Moon or Gemini IC is also the type to consider separate beds or bedrooms.
🦩Another synastry/compatibility hack/tip that I’ve learnt: you will likely see someone’s natal Moon sign as the house that their Moon falls in yours. For example: the person has Cancer Moon in their own natal chart. In your natal chart their Moon falls into your 8th house, so you might perceive their emotions more like that of Scorpio Moon in the natal chart. If it’s a man with natal Cancer Moon, you’d think they really want to settle down and start a family unit. But since they fall in your 8th house, you see them more as a natal Scorpio Moon. There will actually be a reluctant energy to settle down. You might end up seeing them as a forever bachelor, lone wolf type despite having a natal Cancer Moon in their own chart.
🦩Despite the contrary, Leo Moon might actually be the less known sibling. Usually their sibling is the famous one or the well-known one. BUT Leo Moon plays a crucial part in their well-known sibling’s life. They might have financially supported them at some point until they figured things out. But Leo Moon will always feel very proud of their sibling. And the sibling will be forever loyal to Leo Moon.
🦩Having Sagittarius and Pisces Moon also shows you might have a partner/spouse with an age difference, not only Capricorn Moon!
🦩Virgo North Node quite often makes a diet change (going vegan for example) not so much for personal beliefs, but because they battled with a chronic health issue in the past. So it’s not just a trendy lifestyle change for them, but because they suffered so much physical, chronic pain and a health condition.
🦩Scorpio Mercury can overuse or even become addicted to the internet and social media more than Pisces Mercury actually.
🦩Gemini Chiron feels self-conscious that what they do as a job is not really a job. And they hate 9 to 5 jobs.
🦩If you have MC in the 11th house in the whole signs system natal chart, you will most likely do social media or use it a lot for/in your career.
🦩If you have Mercury square/opposition Uranus how others think, do or thank about you absolutely doesn’t get to you or affect you.
🦩Ruler of the 4th house in the 2nd house: you might get jealous of other’s families.
🦩Uranus in the 2nd house in a woman’s chart: the roles can be switched when you are dating/in a relationship. You might randomly spend huge amount on your partner. And how you show your love is “volatile”.
🦩Capricorn over the 2nd house or Saturn in the 2nd house can be “broke” for around 10 years or until their first Saturn Return. But let me explain. Until the age of 30 they live with very little money, it’s not like they don’t have any, they are able to go by with little. Most of it goes towards essential expenses (pay for rent, food etc.) and usually those expenses are higher than what they are making salary wise, so there is little chance for savings. But after first Saturn Return, they really come into their financial stability and are able to grow, build more and lay further foundation, growing their savings too. So don’t get discouraged, things get more stable for you!
🦩Scorpio Juno might not like to have children with their partner, spouse. Because they feel like it takes away their partner’s attention from them and that they become too preoccupied with children.
🦩Sagittarius Moon has a fascination with blades and samurai.
🦩You might often get period after an end of a Moon cycle through your houses. Often when Moon is transiting your 1st house.
🦩You know how Gemini Moons can see their mother as weird? Well, prepare for Pisces Moons, because these natives see their mother as equally weird as Gemini Moon do.
🦩If you have Neptune in the 2nd house, Neptune in the 2nd house you like to watch and listen to those “how to make money based on your natal chart” videos on Youtube or Tiktok. 😂
🦩Virgo Moon and Mars don’t like to be touched (hugged, hand holding etc.), if it’s not known in advance, they like to be somehow “informed” on it or that is somehow planned. Because when it’s spontaneous, it can get too awkward too quickly for them. I think with them in particular is best to be verbal and just announce what you are about to do, like “Do you mind if we hold hands?” or “Can I give you a hug?”. It really eases the tension and nervous energy in them.
🦩I know that for jobs we are always looking at the sign and planets in the 6th house, but honestly check your 2nd house along with that. It shows where your main salary, income will come from, from which field (like Uranus in the 2nd house: crypto, tech job, social work etc.). Look at it also like the themes of your jobs. Neptune in the 2nd house: a creative job, humanitarian, helping or healing other people through food and so forth.
🦩Venus in the 6th house: you tip waiters, baristas etc. and always smile at them and thank them kindly.
🦩If you have Pisces Mercury or Mercury Neptune aspects you feel like you are not showing the real self to the world out of fear of being exploited. You might therefore get a new name once under spotlight that would separate the persona from your authentic self.
