hello. i've decided to go absolutely off the wall with this one instead of answering like a normal person! :D

separating this into categories, i've made a masterpost of ancient headcanons. sorry this took so long to answer but i think you will come to understand as most of this only existed in my brain until you hit my inbox

Government/the Council Pillars

A local group is consisted of atleast three cities, and always has atleast one Council Pillar, typically on the oldest structure but not always. The Council Pillar houses the governing body consisting of the High Councillors, the Esteemed, and the local Low Council.

HIGH COUNCILLORS High Councillors are the highest government of their society and are responsible for many things, including punishment of criminals, judgment regarding severe crimes, assigning people to governing positions, and overseeing their Lower Councils and the Iterator Project. They are only chosen by eachother, and live in the highest rooms of Council Pillars. They typically come from backgrounds of privilege, scholars, rich folk and people of influence. They are the only people who aren't required to always have an ID drone on hand.

ESTEEMED MEMBERS OF THE ITERATOR PROJECT A position gifted to Iterator Project scientists who show special talent with and understanding of the iterators and/or organism purposing. Esteemed Members are directly responsible for an iterator in some way. They are administrators, project leads, bio-engineers and analysts, to name a few. They must be endorsed by another Esteemed or a High Councillor, and then be approved by the rest of their High Council. They are either chosen from the pre-existing team on an iterator, or from scientists and new scholars. Typically, the top student of the graduate class from the School of Solutions is endorsed and sent to a structure in need of scientists.

ADMINISTRATORS Iterator Admins are always Esteemed and are considered of more influence than their peers. They can access everything an iterator can about themselves as well as more. They are responsible for the continued functionality of their charges, as well as the quality of their workload. They are often approached by their local High Council for their opinions on issues and are typically held at very high esteem (haha) by society. Their rooms in the Council Pillars are always above the rest of their local Esteemed, and contains a large motherboard of sorts for their iterator. Here they can access their statistics, health, work, current processes, memories, overseers, and probably most other things you can think of. Iterators must run some things by their admins before they do them, for example purposing life.

LOW COUNCILLORS If a city loses a Low Councillor to death or ascension, candidates are chosen by their Council and an election is held after multiple sessions of debate. Low Councillors are responsible for less severe crime, city construction/welfare, management of emergency resources, overseeing festivals/celebrations, and governing law enforcement, as well as other municipal work.

Punishment for crime is usually things like public service, but severe crimes and sometimes breaches of sensitive information can involve more harsh punishment. Violent criminals or enemies of the High Councils are sometimes responded to with a... mandatory visit to the religious acid bath! (void fluid tub time babyyyy)

There is visible class divide. People still live below the clouds, away from the Iterator cities. These lower industrial settlements are often quite slumlike, and the high class are scorned and often disdained by them. These settlements tend to be quite close-knit and casual, very opposite to the professional and flamboyant nature of the higher class. They have eachothers' backs because the government doesn't seem to have theirs. Life extending treatment and easy access to void fluid are not available to these people. They must fight very hard to reach scholar positions and achieve "success" in high society's eyes.

Everyone outside the High Councillors MUST have an ID Drone so they can be kept track of. Ways around this are common among the lower class. Some even just smash them as act of rebellion.

Anatomy/The Ancient Race/Customs

Ancients share a common ancestor with Scavengers and are bipedal mammals. They have frills and barbells like scavengers do, and their "hair" is not really hair and is closer to large frills in a sense? to be fully honest I'm not fully sure how it works. The Ancients have large hands, long limbs, and three digits on their feet. They have flat teeth, except for four sharp shark-like back teeth evolved for breaking insect exoskeletons and shellfish shells. Ancients now typically live off of nectar and plant matter.

Sexual dimorphism is incredibly limited and is only really visible in the sin bits. Trans and queer people are widely accepted and pretty common. Having children is rarely a priority. There are medical advancements available mostly to the rich that allow for lifespans to be stretched much longer than natural, and many consider introducing new lives to the Great Cycle immoral.

Although their spiritual beliefs revolve around enlightenment beyond the self, they are an indulgent people. Celebrations and festivals take place throughout the major cycles, and body mods and fancy clothes are commonplace in iterator cities. There are alcohol and drug equivalents, i sketched a comic once (that I've never posted) in which Flowers gets absolutely wasted. I'll probably post the full thing sometime but it in general covers some pretty sensitive themes haha

I haven't chosen any specific festivals but I imagine there are some based on the seasons, and there is probably large celebrations when people of importance go to the void.

The Ancients are called that for their innate understanding of the Great Cycle, and for the old belief that their kind all have old souls. They've been around the cycle so many times that they themselves Are Ancient. Extended lifespans has resulted in the same people remaining in positions of power for very extended periods of time, and the desperation for a solution to the Great Problem to be found increasing. I have some confusing headcanons on how the cycle of life and death works- I'll spare you all that garbage for now mostly because I've already been writing for so long. All you really need to know is that if you die of any way that isn't old age or disease like the rot, you cycle back to the beginning of that day. If you DO die of age or destructive illness, you begin a new cycle and reincarnate. Extending their lives was intended to help continue scientific revolution but it just meant entrapping themselves longer. Their increasing desperation eventually lead to The Mass Ascension.

The Mass Ascension

(the following text is copy-pasted from the above picture so you don't read it twice lol)

A member of the High Council of one of the first iterator cities one day decided that they could tolerate the imprisoning nature of the cycle no longer. They developed a weapon of mass destruction, a device that would release a soundwave powerful enough to tear along the entire world. This soundwave was not the real weapon; rather it was the trillions of single cell lifeforms it ferried across the planet. These organisms were comprised of almost pure void fluid, were invisible to the eye, and were programmed to specifically consume Ancient matter and break it away in the same manner that void fluid does. Once they run out of matter to consume they die. This process happened much too quickly for the Ancients to have time to feel much pain, or even comprehend what happened.

Basically, it released a gaseous wave of void fluid across the entire world. This attack was horrifically efficient. Almost the entirety of Ancientkind were destroyed 30 hours after the attack, and those who were fortunate enough to somehow evade the blast were spread too far apart and were unable to carry society on their own. The Ancients went extinct.

This behaved like normal ascension. If you had reached enlightenment or were well-enough attuned, you properly ascended. If not, you became an echo. This most likely resulted in a lot of echoes.

It was the nuclear warfare rapture, basically.

not sure if u answer asks on here but i was wondering what ur opinion was on the sheridan animation program? i just got accepted but since it’s twice as expensive as any of the schools near me (france), i wanted to know what you thought of the faculty, quality of the program, etc? it would be especially interesting to hear from you since my reasoning for going to the program is basically the same as the one you detailed in your q&a video (it will be easier to break into the american animation industry from the other side of the pond) & i wanted to know if after a couple years that sentiment still rang true or if the reality is more nuanced than that. I absolutely get the money concern. I'd say aspects of the program have improved since my #sheridansucks rants on twitter (some new part time profs actually know what they're doing, and the competent profs are generally pushing for change, as is the animation student council), but Sheridan's admin team and many of the full time professors haven't changed. Of these full time profs, 80% have never been in industry and the rest haven't been employed in animation in 20+ years; the info they have on industry is outdated or just plain wrong, and while impressionable first years may buy into it, after doing our internships over the summer and coming back for 4th year, their "the industry is just as hard as doing 5+ assignments a week, you SHOULD be pulling all nighters, we're preparing you for industry" bullshit doesn't fly. The program is horribly designed (the amount of credits is that of a 5-year program, crammed into 4 years), they're riding on grads' reputation alone at this point (taking in talented students and claiming credit for how good they are when most of us learn independently and are this good due to external courses we take, or simply practice), and I'd go so far as to call a few of the classes we take - completely useless. Many of my friends, who are domestic students, have dropped out and are now thriving in industry, because a degree really doesn't matter in this line of work.

That said, I've heard similar things about every North American art school under the sun. Also, Sheridan was, and continues to be, the best option for me as an international. Getting a degree here means I'm almost 100% guaranteed a Canadian work permit (a PGWP), plus between some of the practical knowledge I got taught (specifically by one of the part time rigging professors), and my peers' help/connections, I have already had two industry jobs before graduating. I'd always advise school over no school if you can afford it, for connections' sake - my wonderful peers aside, Sheridan has given us many discounts on tickets to networking events/festivals like OIAF and TAAFI, which have helped me land my current job, for example, and many local studios will come in for networking/recruiting talks. There is also an internship component, which the school helps you get, so by the time you've graduated you already have industry experience and studio contacts in some capacity.

It really depends on what opportunities you already have available to you in Canada. If you're an international, I would say it's helpful, and even though that help has come primarily from my peers and part time profs, that's still better than nothing for me, plus - ✨work permit✨

hi hi hi!!!! so in my dumb admin voice with my silly lil admin hat on, i'm obligated to say that cliche thing of like,,, an rp is only as active as you make it, yk? so, i know real life is wildin, and mardi gras is in gatorade rn mercury, retrograde, u get it but i'd urge you all, my lovelies, to TRY and set aside some time for some interaction even if it's legit like glee style dialogue threads, dumb facebook/tumblr comments&posts, texting, just plotting, etc! i've always found it's helped my muse to like bond with my characters while i'm not writing them: i personally use playlists, pinterest boards, moodboards, character quizzes, etc, to spark that??? it sorta helps me discover the RIGHT vibe, and the RIGHT angles i want to take with a character - their secret little personality traits that keep me interested in them!!! and like i will talk ur EARS off about them, so talk to me about them incessantly PLEASE bc i'd love it. i've never been afraid to just go 360 and retcon things if it feels true to the character, or to just drop a character, and i'd never fault ANYONE else for doing it!!!! it's ur world, these are UR barbies. like we all hopped in here bc something intrigued us about it. activity doesn't MATTER to me. i HATE booting ppl. i just want a place to write, and i wanna write with all of you no matter what those reply timelines look like! so if something is missing for you in new zeppelin, lets find the missing piece so you can like WRITE the characters you all created in a way that excites you. New Zeppelin IS changeable and flexible, like just tell me what you need. you are allowed to change things and drop things with no questions asked and no hard feelings, OBVI. you are allowed to send what you might deem 'low quality replies' none of yours are 2 me, but i know how SOME PPL MIGHT THINK (me) so i'm being brave and squashing insecurities or whatevs if it scratches the itch, and ykw, you are valid for that!!! bc we're all SO TIRED!!! adulthood is hard, and in THIS ECONOMY??? we don't have the time to write like we used to! that's okay!!! so like do you, i just wanna see your beautiful lil brains create some cool stuff, and i just want to help you flex your creative skills. Hello anon! Thank you for the welcome~ I would just like to apologize to everyone reading this since this sort of became a self indulgent Kalim scenario 🙇💦 I still hope people wouldn't mind me stealing some of their takoyaki for myself~

KALIM AL-ASIM

Kalim was seldom serious in anything he ever did. Most of the time he’d just be his cheerful self and unintentionally forget his serious problems through continuous parties in the Scarabia Dorm. He never took relationships with other people that seriously too. After all, why would he bother getting closer to them? He had Jamil and that was certainly more then enough for him. Kalim lived like this for years. Make friends but don’t get too close or they might take advantage of his family lineage and power. It was one of the many reasons why people tried to befriend him, hoping that they might curry favour. Kalim might be naive but he taught how to deal with those people by his family.

Kalim, however, found himself taking you seriously. He realized that he was fond of you. Kalim never expected you to reciprocate his feelings though, so it was a big shock when you suddenly dragged him away from the crowded halls to a more secluded classroom just to shout out “I love you!’” he immediately became a hot mess and held you tightly. It was on that day when Scarabia held one of their grandest parties yet.

Yet Kalim wanted more and more of you. He was a greedy man who wanted to take your relationship to the next level but at the same time he didn’t want to rush you. He loved holding your hands and hugging you but he wanted something- kisses. He wanted to feel your soft pink lips against his own while you wrap your arms around his neck. Kalim was taught that he only needed to ask if he wanted something, but he couldn’t do that with you. He’d never wanted anything so badly before.

Kalim never expected your first kiss to turn out this way. Who knew that the drunken version of you was very touchy and emotional. You only had a glass of wine a first-year offered you but you suddenly turned into this mess. You were now inside Kalim’s dark room, with no source of light to be found except for the moonlight coming out of the window. You were lying on top of him while cupping his cheeks with a very flushed face. “I waited for you to kiss me.” you inched dangerously closer to his face. “But it seems like I have to make the first move.” you crashed your lips against his. The kiss was greatly affected by your drunken state and Kalim’s inexperience. Sloppy was the word to describe it but that didn’t stop the both of you. Shivers were sent down his spine as you kissed him passionately under the moonlight and he wanted nothing more than to ravish you. Kalim tried to deepen the kiss, bringing out his tongue and licking your upper lip. He was beyond embarrassed to see you suddenly pass out. More embarrassed over what he’s done. Kalim let out a sigh, the tips of his ears still red. “Ah..! That was so embarrassing..!” 

JAMIL VIPER

          Jamil wasn't allowed to be better than Kalim in anything. That's what his parents taught him. Even if he was truly better, he should never show it because a servant should never be better than it's own master. Countless times, Jamil had to hold back in order to be beneath his master, Kalim. If Kalim fails a test, Jamil should not get a higher mark than Kalim. Jamil had enough of all that talk about being beneath Kalim for the rest of his life and snapped. He overblotted and tried to kill Kalim and was exposed to everyone in NRC. It was an understatement to say that some students were afraid of him because of his unique magic.

          Ever since you started attending NRC, you were somehow always attracted to Jamil. It didn't really occur to you why but all you knew is that you've been developing a small crush on him. Ever since the overblot incident Jamil had, you felt like you understood him a bit more. You always noticed how he manages to keep his grades average but always manages to not fail at any subject and how his face scrunches up a bit whenever Kalim enters the room. The both of you were somehow friends despite all the issues Jamil has.

          It was understatement to say that Jamil liked the company you provide for him. He couldn't imagine  his current self without you by his side. His platonic feelings slowly grew into more romantic ones and before he knew it, he was in love. The small banters the two of you share seem all too special to him after realizing. But it also made him realize that there was a good chance that you only might think of him as a good friend. It was his one fear.

          Jamil had no experience whatsoever when it came to romance. All he knew is that he wanted to whisk you away and kiss you until you were out of breath. It was a thought he quickly tried to erase but he imagined you blushing furiously while he pinned your wrists together to prevent you from moving too much. It was a scary thought for Jamil but it left him into a blushing mess too.

          Jamil never wanted his confession to be too sudden but somehow- all sense of reason was suddenly lost the moment you asked him "Jamil? Do you have anyone you like?" with a beet red face. He was a healthy young man, and there were some things that he would definitely misunderstand. Did you like him? Why are you asking him this? Too many questions swirled inside his mind and he decided that he'll just realize his misunderstanding later.

          Leaning swiftly towards you, Jamil placed a quick peck on your lips before stroking your hair gently with a fond look on his face- "You."

i’m sorry but this fetishizing thing is getting wayy out of hand. on one side, we have some korean rpers become incredibly offended about “krp” being a tag and using anyone in the korean industry as a fc. the reason this tag exists is to filter out other types of rps. If you type in “rp”  in the tumblr search bar, the first things that pop up are either indie rp blogs OR westernized rp groups ( and the occasional harry potter cosplayer, anime rper, etc ). 

that being said, there are many rps that are being hidden within the shadows. & if you look at the krp tags with the many krp directories, most are tagged “rp” AND “krp” for those that are specifically looking for a directory that accepts fcs of asian decent that work in the entertainment industry. AND while we’re on the topic of truth, many do not want to rp with people of asian decent in most western roleplays. in fact, some even make it a race thing, and focus nothing on the character. 

yes, this is only to some ( for those that end up complaining later about something I wrote ) before we even get to the topic of fetishes. 

now, i’m not korean, but i am a poc and when i see someone using a poc fc, i applaud them simply because people are going out of their comfort zone to rp a poc and they might possibly get it all wrong, but it’s not something to stress over. 

now, i’m not attacking someone specifically, but i’m going to take the blogger that has been shared on this blog to disprove a lot of what they said. ( i’ll send in some receipts as well if need be. )

this is an incrediblyvalid point, but I’d very respectfully disagree. honey, you’re not looking hard enough into the rp tags if you don’t notice a damn whole rp community dedicated to comic rp, anime, and specific ethnicity.

also, while we’re at it, what about the western faceclaims? aren’t they fetishized too? take kylie jenner, for example. the majority of the rps that have a kylie jenner faceclaim are usually those that use her for smut and aesthetic purposes. the girl is gorgeous, no denying that, but she is fetishized nevertheless and she’s not the only one. what about ariana grande? justin bieber? jensen ackles? gigi hadid? harry fucking styles? or even nina dobrev? 

let’s move on to our next point before i get nasty. 

reblogging gifsets of kpop idols you like or kdramas you want to watch and tagging it as ‘omg my muse would definitely have a crush on this person’ is the most shallow, obvious form of yellow fever i’ve ever seen. whether your muse would have a crush on this idol or actor is not even relevant to the blog, it’s relevant to you, the mun, who sees a pretty korean face and decides that it fits the ‘aesthetic’ of your blog.

i’m sorry, but how can you make such a generalized statement? what if the mun that has reblogged the set of gifsets know about the character portrayed in these korean dramas? and honestly, as humanswe are just naturally attracted to others that are better looking ( it’s called natural selection ). and I’m livid because how do you know what their character wants and doesn’t want? how do you know what attracts them?if you have a mind reader, please, by all means, let me know since you know much about the mind of another mun.

BRO OMG okay okay. Before Our Last Summer, the most I had written was 12 pages of a shitty mafia mystery YA novel. I had never attempted something like this, but I really missed Ranboo.

I'm so proud of my progress, genuinely. And without getting comments, or Chambers help, I wouldn't be where I am today.

Our Last Summer was chaotic, and crazy, and sometimes didn't make sense. I retconned a lot of the early stuff, like shifter Mumbo, and I had NO idea about a Tommy and Scar plotline till Chambers started telling me about season 6.

When all is said and done, I'll go back, and rewrite OLS. I'll keep the dialogue and plot, but there are details I'd change.

My assessments got a new due date for June so I have the weeks before the second semester to get some rest myself, and my cats bc I got CATS AND THEYRE AMAZING AND I LOVE THEM have been a big comfort to me!! I love them so muc 😭😭 and while my mental health is still on the brink, I’m in a better place now- so that’s good!! I’m seeing a counselor too now! I have a session tomorrow actually!!
