The most important question I ask myself while writing romance, five years apart and much classier now, thanks to Kate Clayborn's incredible needlepoint skills.

I'm a conflict writer (this will surprise no one, as I feel like you'd be hard pressed to find a romance writer who loves an explosion more than me), so this question is my lodestar when I work. I ask myself after every scene: Why Can't They Be Together Right Now. This isn't a vague question for me while I'm writing -- I literally write the answer down in a notebook.

"Chapter 1, Scene 1: They haven't met yet."

"Chapter 7, Scene 2: He's just been stabbed. Right now is not a good time."

"Chapter 18, Scene 1: He thinks she deserves someone far better than he is (dummy)."

The goal is for the reasons to evolve and change, and reflect both what I think of as the plot (what's going on externally in the book) and the story (what's happening internally in the book).

If the answer is the same for too long (say, two or three chapters?), I know the book is lagging, and I have to amp it all up.

okay so the other notes from re-reading parts of Sea of Monsters (and also part of The Lost Hero) - so there’s this one part where Percy is noting some random things about other cabins at lunch. Interesting notes within that:

A.) Beckendorf is 15 in SoM, which does track for him having been supposed to go to college following TLO because that would make him 17 then, but also that implies he has a like late summer birthday. So do with that information what you will.

B.) the Hephaestus cabin is described as 6-7 (unclear if Beckendorf was being included in the group) brothers. Given what we know about the Hephaestus cabin later on, particularly that Jake Mason and Nyssa are implied to be the oldest in the cabin in HoO, this implies that Nyssa probably either joined immediately following SoM or is trans. Also, in The Lost Hero, Will mentions that Jake Mason became cabin counselor at the same time as him, which implies there was at least one unknown Hephaestus cabin counselor between Beckendorf and Jake Mason who died in the Battle for Manhattan.

C.) In Sea of Monsters, the Athena cabin is described as a dozen kids led by Annabeth, which confirms that Annabeth is cabin counselor by age 13 and also gives us a rough estimate of how large cabins were before campers began defecting in large numbers to the Titan Army (leaving about 50-60 total mortal forces for the Olympians/CHB, the discrepancy being an unknown amount of Ares kids joining the battle later). After TLO, CHB’s numbers rise again due to taking in ex-Titan Army kids and all the newly claimed demigods, and we know there’s about like 150 campers in CHB by HoO. Second discrepancy though, in The Lost Hero, Leo describes the Hephaestus cabin being also about a dozen kids. However, we only ever know the names of six of them (Leo, Jake, Nyssa, Harley, Shane, Christopher) and outside of Leo’s first introduction to his siblings we never see the rest of the alleged other half-dozen Hephaestus kids again. If there were a dozen Hephaestus kids in HoO, that would also completely mess up the total number of campers, because Hephaestus cabin is historically one of the smaller cabins and post-TLO the largest cabins would be Aphrodite and Ares (since Hermes cabin had all the previously cabinless kids redistributed and besides them the largest cabin was cabin 7 but all the Apollo kids died save for Will, Austin, and Kayla). Though given TLO casualties as we know them, Aphrodite cabin is probably the largest and Ares second-largest. Either way, if one of the smaller cabins has a dozen kids, then that would mean the larger cabins are probably close to like 20 kids, which completely ruins the math for what we know about CHB’s size at this point in the books. It makes sense for the Athena cabin to have a dozen kids in SoM because it’s implied to be a medium to large sized cabin comparatively to the Hephaestus kids, and this would mean the Apollo and Hermes cabins at that point would have closer to like 15-20 kids which makes sense for how crowded the Hermes cabin is described to be. But then CHB loses the majority of campers to either early war losses or campers defecting to the Titan Army, and even after regaining numbers in HoO no cabins are described as crowded. So no cabin should be having 15-20 kids at this point. If we weight the redistribution appropriately based on the estimated total population of camp, then there should be like at most like 8-10 kids in the most populous cabins.

If Zendaya wasn't constantly shoved in our faces on social media every single day, it would be so much easier to stop talking about her, you know. It's as if she's addicted to the attention and just craves it all the time. She's always trending, and it's pretty obvious that she loves it. Like, today, when people finally stopped talking about that big PR stunt at the Beyoncé concert, what does she do. She goes and posts a selfie to get people talking about her again. It's so obvious, and yet everyone here refuses to admit it. I mean, seriously, why couldn't she and the others just stay in the lodge at the Beyoncé concert. She had to drag Tom downstairs and go next to Beyoncé husband, just so people could see her. Talk about attention-seeking behavior, right? And what's even more ridiculous is when people say she loves her privacy. I mean, come on! She was acting all crazy in front of Beyoncé, even though she's been around her before. Isn't that just weird to you?And if that wasn't enough, she c ouldn't even let Tom have one thing with his brothers and dad on the golf course. You don't see Nicki there, do you? But Zendaya? She's bringing an untrained dog to some upscale golf course, and of course, she has to take a picture about it for attention. She could have posted a photo of noon anywhere but she had to do it at the golf course so her fans would pick up that she is on pr duty. It shows how much of a parasite she is. I swear, all you blogs will have to find something else to talk about when they break up, just like all those other celebrity couples blogs. You know, like R Pattz and Kristen, Andrew and Emma, Brad and Angelina. The pr will end as soon as they finish the new Spider-Men movies, mark my words. Then we'll see a joint press release statement about how they remain friends, but the distance was just too difficult. You will never see them together again. Honestly, Zendaya is just not the right girl for Tom. He's such a sweet and simple bloke who wants to live as normal a life as possible. This is why Dom never interacts with Zendaya because he hates their pr angle. Nicki wants what her son wants which for now is the exposure Zendaya brings but the interactions with Nicki seem even forced. She has been in London for a long time since you guys keep repeating but they only hung out once for a paparazzi walk. Not her virgo friend. Zendaya she's all about the limelight because she knows that's where the money is for her, it is not because of her talent or anything.

I’m sitting here on my balcony, enjoying the natural darkness (it hits different than the darkness, that I have to endure in my room all day long) and some fresh air. Stargazing and breathing…deliberately slowly…in and out…. Gosh, I’m grateful for these occasions, whenever I’m feeling strong enough to leave my bed and step out to my balcony…ignoring my wobbly legs and my aching body.

My beloved friend Magda, @vulnus-sanare, told me about the possibility to see the stars, which are right above me, by using an app (“grandma” didn’t know that this existed! 😂). I just had to try this out!

What can I say? Right in front of me is my zodiac sign (Virgo)…and right beside her, there’s a crow. In my mind, there has always been a connection between Severus and crows!! Our wings are touching each other. And you know what? It gets even better!! We’re framed by not one, but two snakes!! Some tears left my eyes…and I don’t feel so lonely anymore. This might be super cheesy, but I know, that he’s here with me….like all the 21 years, since I fell for him, before. My heart swells with gratitude…not only for him, but also for Magda. “This is the most Slytherin you could get…,” she said….and damn, sweetheart, you’re so right about that! The Astrology Behind Mathew Perry's Iconic Portrayal of Chandler Bing

Today, I want to pay tribute to the man who played one of my favorite characters on TV. RIP Matthew Perry. Sniffles I'm definitely NOT crying right now.

I always had a little crush on Chandler, and he always made me laugh the hardest on the show. Sighs while staring into the distance.

So.. onto the analysis-

Matthew had a Leo Sun and Ascendant, which gave him that natural Leo charm, confidence, and sense of humor. Leos thrive in the spotlight, and this energy undoubtedly helped Perry embody Chandler's witty and attention-grabbing personality. It's like Chandler's quick wit found a perfect match in Mathew's lively nature.

Next up, his Scorpio Moon. Scorpio Moons are known for their intensity and passion. This emotional depth allowed Perry to tap into Chandler's serious and emotional side, especially during those heartfelt moments with his friends. Plus, his Scorpio Moon was responsible for Chandler's dark humor, adding a mysterious and edgy quality to his jokes. This was my take on how some of Mathew's placements influenced his portrayal of our beloved Chandler Bing (or Ms. Chanandellar Bong, if you like)
