Coca-Cola’s VitaminWater is being marketed as a healthy, hydrating drink. The company claims that the drinks prevent chronic diseases, reduce the risks of eye diseases, promotes healthy joints, and supports optimal immune function. However, nothing could be further from the truth.
This is what John Robbins, Esq., PhD., M.D. says in his Mat Hoffman Post article:
The product is basically sugar-water, to which about a penny’s worth of synthetic vitamins have been added. And the amount of sugar is not trivial. A bottle of vitaminwater contains 33 grams of sugar, making it more akin to a soft drink than to a healthy beverage.
The ingredients of “orange-orange”-flavored vitaminwater:
Reverse osmosis water, crystalline fructose, cane sugar, less than 0.5% of: citric acid, magnesiumlactate and calcium lactate and potassium phosphate (electrolyte sources), natural flavors, vitamin C (ascorbic acid), gum acacia, vitamin B3 (niacinamide), vitamin E (alpha-tocopheryl acetate), vitamin B5 (calcium pantothenate), glycerol ester of rosin, vitamin B6 (pyridoxine hydrochloride), vitamin B12, beta-carotene, modified food starch, sorbitol.
VitaminWater’s sugar levels are very very high. One 500ml bottle contains 27 grams of sugar, that’s about 8 teaspoons of sugar!
Crystalline Fructose
Crystalline fructose is produced by allowing the fructose to crystallize from a fructose-enriched corn syrup. So basically, it is made from corn syrup, and not only corn syrup, but “fructose enriched” corn syrup. Crystalline Fructose contains 99.5% minimum of fructose assay, which is a greater higher percentage of fructose than what makes up high fructose corn syrup. Crystalline fructose may be contaminated with arsenic, lead, chloride and heavy metals. This type of fructose leads to increased belly fat, insulin resistance, and metabolic syndrome. Large amount of fructose can create a fatty liver and cirrhosis as it can not be processed completely in the liver. The fructose interferes and alters the metabolic process in our cells, which causes oxidative damage.

Dandelion Lotion Recipe
Here I am again, singing the praises of dandelions. As we already know by now, dandelions are high in Vitamin A, C, and B6, all of which provide excellent benefits for your skin!
The flowers contain high levels of beta carotene and lutein. Dandelion is high in magnesium, calcium, and potassium as well. All of these constituents provide support to the skin by helping with moisture retention and supporting skin function.
Tumblr media
Ingredients:
5.6 ounces of distilled water
0.24 ounces of stearic acid
0.4 ounces emulsifying wax
1.76 ounces dandelion infused oil (here’s my post on making infused oils)
0.4 ounces preservative (Leucidal)
Optional: essential oil of choice (I always love using cinnamon)
Instructions:
Get a double boiler set up that will hold two small containers, like 8 ounce jelly jars. I use a wide pan, place a washcloth at the bottom, and fill with about an inch to two inches of water. This pan should hold two of the jars.
Measure out your water using a digital kitchen scale into one of the small jars
Measure out your oil, stearic acid, and emulsifying wax using the kitchen scale and place these into a separate small jar.
Cover the water jar with a lid to prevent water from escaping through evaporation.
Place both jars into the pan, and heat gently on low until the oil mixture is completely melted together
Remove the jars from the pan, and allow to cool to about 110 degrees
Pour your water into the oil mixture, and add your preservative and essential oils (if using)
Stir these together quickly with a fork. As it cools, you’ll see the mixture emulsify, or come together and start turning into a cream
Pour your cream or lotion into small jars
If your lotion tries to separate, just mix it up good again. As it cools to room temperature, it should stop doing this.

The Role of Nutrition in Mental Health
Nutrition plays a crucial role in maintaining not only physical health but also mental well-being. What we eat can significantly impact our mood, energy levels, and overall mental health. Understanding the connection between diet and mental health can help you make informed choices that support a healthier mind. Here’s a look at how nutrition affects mental health and some tips for optimizing your diet for better mental well-being.
The Gut-Brain Connection
Gut Health and Mood: The gut-brain axis is a complex communication network that links the gut and the brain. A healthy gut can positively influence your mood and mental health. An imbalance in gut bacteria can lead to inflammation and may contribute to anxiety and depression.
Probiotics and Prebiotics: Incorporating foods rich in probiotics (like yogurt, kefir, and sauerkraut) and prebiotics (like garlic, onions, and bananas) can support a healthy gut microbiome.
Essential Nutrients for Mental Health
Omega-3 Fatty Acids: Found in fatty fish, flaxseeds, and walnuts, omega-3 fatty acids are essential for brain health. They have been shown to reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety.
B Vitamins: B vitamins, particularly B6, B12, and folate, play a vital role in brain function. Deficiencies in these vitamins can lead to mood disorders. Include foods like leafy greens, beans, eggs, and fortified cereals in your diet.
Vitamin D: Known as the “sunshine vitamin,” vitamin D is linked to mood regulation and cognitive function. Sunlight exposure and foods like fatty fish, egg yolks, and fortified dairy products can help maintain adequate levels.
Magnesium: This mineral helps regulate neurotransmitters that affect mood. Foods rich in magnesium include nuts, seeds, whole grains, and dark chocolate.
Antioxidants: Antioxidants, such as vitamins C and E, combat oxidative stress in the brain. Berries, citrus fruits, nuts, and seeds are excellent sources of antioxidants.
The Impact of Diet on Mental Health
Balanced Diet: A balanced diet that includes a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats supports overall mental health. Nutrient-dense foods provide the necessary vitamins and minerals for optimal brain function.
Hydration: Staying hydrated is crucial for cognitive function and mood regulation. Aim to drink plenty of water throughout the day and limit sugary or caffeinated beverages.
Avoid Processed Foods: Diets high in processed foods, refined sugars, and unhealthy fats can negatively impact mental health. These foods can lead to inflammation and nutrient deficiencies, contributing to mood swings and mental fatigue.
Specific Diets and Mental Health
Mediterranean Diet: This diet emphasizes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats like olive oil. Studies have shown that the Mediterranean diet can reduce the risk of depression and improve overall mental health.
Plant-Based Diets: Diets rich in plant-based foods provide antioxidants, fiber, and essential nutrients that support brain health. Including a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables can enhance mood and cognitive function.
Practical Tips for a Mental Health-Boosting Diet
Plan Balanced Meals: Ensure each meal includes a mix of protein, healthy fats, and complex carbohydrates to maintain steady energy levels and support brain health.
Snack Smart: Choose nutrient-dense snacks like nuts, seeds, fruit, and yogurt to keep your energy up and your mood stable throughout the day.
Mindful Eating: Practice mindful eating by paying attention to your hunger and fullness cues. Avoid distractions while eating to better enjoy your food and listen to your body’s needs.
Limit Alcohol and Caffeine: Both alcohol and caffeine can affect your mood and sleep patterns. Consume them in moderation and be mindful of their impact on your mental health.
Conclusion
Nutrition plays a vital role in maintaining mental health. By focusing on a balanced diet rich in essential nutrients, you can support your brain function and emotional well-being. What dietary changes have you made to support your mental health? Share your tips and experiences in the comments!

What vitamins help with lack of ejaculation?
Lack of ejaculation, or aspermia, is a condition that causes the inability to ejaculate semen during orgasm. It can be caused by many factors, including diseases, medications, and vitamin and mineral deficiencies.
Vitamins that can help improve ejaculation:
Vitamin B12: Vitamin B12 is necessary for sperm production and the proper functioning of the nervous system. Its deficiency may lead to erectile dysfunction and ejaculation problems. Good sources of vitamin B12 are meat, fish, eggs, milk and dairy products.
Vitamin B6: Vitamin B6 is important for the production of sex hormones, including testosterone. Its deficiency may lead to decreased libido and ejaculation problems. Good sources of vitamin B6 are: meat, fish, eggs, bananas, nuts and seeds.
Vitamin E: Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that may help protect cells from damage. Its deficiency may lead to erectile dysfunction and ejaculation problems. Good sources of vitamin E include vegetable oils, nuts, seeds and green leafy vegetables.
Selenium: Selenium is a mineral that is necessary for the proper functioning of the reproductive system. Its deficiency may lead to erectile dysfunction and ejaculation problems. Good sources of selenium include Brazil nuts, fish, meat and eggs.
Zinc: Zinc is a mineral that is necessary for the production of testosterone. Its deficiency may lead to decreased libido and ejaculation problems. Good sources of zinc are meat, fish, seafood, nuts and seeds.
In addition to vitamins, it is also important to eat a healthy diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean protein. You should also limit the consumption of alcohol and stimulants, which may negatively affect sexual health.
If you have problems with ejaculation, it is worth consulting a doctor. Your doctor may recommend additional tests to rule out diseases that may be causing the problem.

do you have migraines or headaches, and are you poor, have shitty/no insurance, doctors who won't listen to you, or just don't want to waste hundreds of dollars on an appointment? well, i went to a neurologist and received this piece of paper which i probably paid way too much for, so you can have it for free.
American Headache Society Complementary and Integrative Medicine Section: Patient Education Kit for Migraine (Recommended Supplements for Migraine Prevention) <- link
the supplements may or may not work, but either way this should save you time and money. you can buy these supplements at most drug stores or online.
below the cut i'm adding a transcript of the pdf in case the link breaks.
stuff my doctor told me:
i should take magnesium glycinate, riboflavin, and CoQ10
magnesium glycinate should be taken at bedtime
didn't recommend feverfew for me, can't remember why
if these supplements don't help, the next step is prescription meds which include Nortriptyline, Topamax, or Emgality
Nortriptyline is an anti-depressant, if you're already on an anti-depressant then don't take this
Topamax is an anti-seizure med also used to prevent migraines. it can make birth control pills less effective
Emgality is administered once a month with a self-administered shot (something like an epi pen). this is what my doctor recommended I take if the supplements don't work. it specifically targets the migraine receptor, so it has very few side effects
PDF transcript:
AHS Complementary and Integrative Medicine Section: Patient Education Kit for Migraine
Recommended Supplements for Migraine Prevention Dietary supplements are commonly used for the prevention of migraine. The recommended supplements have all been studied and found to be effective in the prevention of migraine. If you are pregnant or have other medical conditions, please check with your physician about whether you should take these.
Magnesium
Mechanism: Important in energy production, muscle and nerve function, and may play a role in cortical spreading depression, which is an underlying migraine mechanism.
Evidence: Two large randomized controlled trials found magnesium to be beneficial for migraine prevention.
Dose: 600mg per day. Some people prefer to start at a lower dose to ensure tolerability. Formulations include magnesium oxide, magnesium sulfate, magnesium citrate (better absorbed than oxide or sulfate), and magnesium glycinate (less likely to cause diarrhea than other formulations)
Side effects: May cause soft stools or diarrhea, but could help constipation.
Riboflavin (Vitamin B2)
Mechanism: Involved in mitochondrial energy production, which may play a role in migraine
Evidence: Five clinical trials, including one large randomized controlled trial, have shown positive effect on migraine.
Dose: 400mg per day
Side effects: Turns urine bright yellow/orange and may cause diarrhea.
Feverfew
Mechanism: Parthenolide, the active ingredient, may prevent migraine through its vascular smooth relaxation and anti-inflammatory properties.
Evidence: Four out of six studies showed benefit for migraine prevention
Dose: 50-300mg twice daily
Side effects: Nausea, bloating, and mouth ulcers. Feverfew can cause uterine contractions and is not recommended during pregnancy.
Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10)
Mechanism: Involved in energy production and helps maintain mitochondrial integrity.
Evidence: Two randomized controlled trials showed benefit over placebo.
Dose: 300mg daily (can be split into 150mg twice a day)
Side effects: Insomnia, fatigue, nausea, or diarrhea.
Other Supplements Butterbur demonstrated benefit for migraine in two large randomized controlled studies; however; preparations may contain pyrrolizidine alkaloids which are toxic to the liver. Due to safety concerns, butterbur was removed from the market in Europe and is currently not recommended. Melatonin and the combination of folic acid/B6/B12 have mixed results for migraine prevention.

More than half the world's population faces micronutrient deficiencies, including inadequate levels of calcium, iron, and vitamins C and E, according to a recent study that provides the first global estimates of inadequate consumption of 15 micronutrients critical to human health. Micronutrients are essential vitamins and minerals crucial for bodily functions such as growth, development, and immunity. Although the body needs these nutrients only in small amounts, deficiencies can have severe health consequences, ranging from adverse pregnancy outcomes and blindness to increased susceptibility to infectious diseases. Previous studies have measured the availability and consumption of micronutrients among populations across the world. However, the latest study conducted by a research team from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, UC Santa Barbara (UCSB), and the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) analyzed whether these intakes meet the recommended levels for human health. The researchers also looked at the specific deficiencies affecting males and females throughout different stages of life. The results were published in the journal The Lancet Global Health. "Our study is a big step forward. Not only because it is the first to estimate inadequate micronutrient intakes for 34 age-sex groups in nearly every country, but also because it makes these methods and results easily accessible to researchers and practitioners," said co-lead author Chris Free, research professor at UCSB in a news release. The study compared nutritional requirements with actual intake across populations in 185 countries using data from the Global Dietary Database, the World Bank, and dietary surveys from 31 countries. The researchers then grouped the population based on gender and divided them into 17 age categories, from newborns to those over 80, in five-year intervals. The micronutrients covered in the study are calcium, iodine, iron, riboflavin, folate, zinc, magnesium, selenium, thiamin, niacin, and vitamins A, B6, B12, C, and E.
It doesn't help that crops contain less of these micronutrients thanks to modern agriculture and impoverished soils.
