I can't believe girls my age and younger are getting
"preventative botox"
I just hope I get the chance to grow old with my partner without too much pain,
embrace my gray hair I'll inevitably grow
and maybe someday even hold my grandchildren with wrinkly loving hands.
We shouldn't be scared of looking our age🩷
Growing older
is a privilege

moon syncing with the last quarter moon in scorpio (february 3, 2024)
Tumblr media
bleed phase: you are in a purple moon cycle, which is a very transformational moon cycle for you. this last quarter moon is triggering your insecurities to get you to finally get out of your own way + step into your true power when you do the work to retrieve your essence from the underworld. tap into shadow work, introspection, and honest self-reflection this cycle as the wisdom you're receiving is facilitating this metamorphosis.
follicular phase: you can use this energy to get out of your own way when it comes to letting yourself be used, letting the haters win, being stuck on the past, and letting any heavy burdens slow you down. as your energy begins to pick up, this time of the month is good for overcoming any obstacles that are in your way. if it doesn't align with your worth + if you're not able to operate in your entire light due to the environments that you are currently attached to, it's time to dip.
ovulatory phase: this is your most fertile time of the month, allowing the last quarter moon to help you feel empowered. evil eye is heavy during this time for you + it would be wise to do some protection rituals, cleansing, and just overall being very intentional about who + what you choose to surround yourself with. pay attention to the energy leeches that may be in your life + cut them off. there is no room for them here! tap into your sexy nature + explore what makes you feel comfortable in that energy!
luteal phase: your womb is in natural alignment with the last quarter moon, therefore this moon phase is here to work for you! all you have to do is surrender to the flow of what needs to be eradicated. it's a great time to cleanse + purge anything and anyone that reflects low self-esteem, insecurities, and not seeing yourself as the powerful godis that you inherently are. if you have any trauma surrounding abusive situations that you have experienced in life, now is a great time to cater to those wounds by unpacking them, forgiving yourself, and transmuting that pain into power.

Supplements that seem to be helping me a lot lately:
Omega 3-6-9 and Vitamin D3 + K2 in the morning. These have helped me with general fatigue and given me a normal functioning amount of energy. It’s also been a godsend during these colder months.
Zinc + magnesium aspartate + vit B6 at night. This one has been a lifesaver for me- I get such restful sleep, my body recovers faster after a workout and it’s also helped me with my hairfall.

Recently I've been really enjoying reading and watching content on feminine health, the cycle, pleasure and related topics.
"The Principles of Pleasure" @ Netflix (documentary) I highly highly recommend watching this documentary on Netflix, even better if it's with your partner. It debunks so many misconceptions and overall normalizes talking about the female body, pleasure and our health! There are so many taboos, myths and even topics of shame or discomfort and they shouldn't be. I'm glad that such conversations are finally being raised and more normalized in the public eye.
"Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler (book) This book was recommended to me by a friend, and honestly, it's life changing. It's unbelievable how there are so many things we have no idea about and are not taught as women, either in school, at the doctor's office or otherwise. This should be basic information available to all - all genders! Men understanding how a woman's body works should be mandatory too. Ignorance and mystery only leaves space for shame, confusion, frustration from false assumptions stated as fact, and overall a lot of pain that could be avoided if they simply knew basic anatomy and biology. It's incredible that in today's day and age, with all the technology and available information online, there are still people, particularly adult men, who don't understand where periods come from, or that pregnancy causes weight gain, or just what happens during/after pregnancy. It's 2022. We need to do better.
Flo (app for tracking cycle/fertility) I dare say this is a must have for everyone with periods. It's such an effective app that makes it easy and even delightful to keep track of all the important details regarding your cycle. You can keep track of symptoms, length of the cycle, start and end date, it can predict your next start dates, you can know if on a given day the % of getting pregnant, etc. There's even a robust collection of articles that help further educate us on health, mental health, pleasure and related topics, and last but not least there is a forum function (all anonymous) where people can share questions, answers and concerns in a safe space.

I think it's important that every woman knows her own body and mind and how it works 🌸🌷💐 I myself notice how true this chart is and how helpful it is to plan my life around my body and its needs 🪷

This bit in Iliza Shlesinger's latest Netflix special where she addresses how vaginas are supposed to taste (or more importantly *not* supposed to) really resonated with me

Hey fellow autistic women! Quick question. Do any of your sensory issues (sounds I can't control are my issues) get worse on your period or am I being a bee with an itch?

People may think me kinda weird when I say that, and fair enough, but there's a question I ponder sometimes in the Severus/Lily-friendship story. I guess from what we know they would spend all their time with each other most of the time until they were 15 years old, if I remember correctly. I still lament the severe lack of fanfiction there, I only know very, very few good Severus/Lily fanfictions that focus on their childhood/youth.
Anyways, since they used to be so close I assume that they would get to know each other pretty intimately. And they genuinely cared. So I wonder how Snape dealt with it when Lily got her first period or her period in general because you definitely know that when you're close friends. I wish I knew if there was any decent fanfiction on this. I would guess that he would have gone out of his way to make this as easy as possible for her and support her with what he knew. At least to me that is a very interesting topic to think about. :)
Plus he had/has this general "Touch her and I'll kill you!"-mentality, so I think about that often in the context of their adventures and especially them growing up in Hogwarts.

Wanted to bring awareness to anyone with ovaries
Tumblr media
PCOS exists. And I share a lot of symptoms with it.
I Am undiagnosed (I hope to get an official diagnosis), but it’s too fucking similar, and I feel that many need to be aware. Not just because others need to be educated on vaginal issues, but also because there are many that probably have this disorder.
Tumblr media
If you have irregular periods, infertility, major shifts in moods, depression, anxiety, unwanted body hair, issues with food consumption, this may be the suspect of these symptoms.
Remember: you don’t need to have all the symptoms to have PCOS. You still need to see someone about some symptoms IF you are able to.

Today is the first day I'll be babysitting my first little nephew ☺️
But also today is my first day on my period since about 7 years.😖
(7 YEARS?! it's still very weird to think about)
I'm bringing my hot water bottle,my nettle leaf tea 🍵 and some homemade healthy chocolate milk. ☕
I made it with water, cocoa powder, real honey, cinnamon and a pinch of salt. It's delicious and good for you!
I really hope it'll go well 🥲
He's 5 months old already and he's growing so quickly! 🥹

Talk of genitalia

So AMAB people can have a trail of hair leading to their genitalia, but when I, an AFAB person, have hair there, I’m viewed as unattractive or unusual. Even if I’m not even a woman. And it literally grows there. And serves a health purpose. Okay. Yeah sure. That makes sense.

Cortisol is what helps regulate your metabolism, blood sugar levels, memory function and reduces inflammation. Cortisol is great.
BUT if you’re someone who is consistently stressed, have pituitary gland issues or are on certain medication, there’s a chance your cortisol levels may be high.
Signs your cortisol levels may be high:
- weight gain, mostly around the midsection and upper back
- weight gain and rounding of the face
- fatty deposits between shoulder blades
- deep purple stretch marks on your abdomen
- easy bruising
- muscle weakness
- severe fatigue, easily tired
- irritability
- increased anxiety levels
- difficulty concentrating
- high blood pressure
- headaches
- thinning hair
- difficulty waking up/low energy in the mornings and difficulty falling asleep/high energy at night
So what can you do?
- Let’s get it checked out by a doctor before we worry and add onto the stress.
- Identify stress triggers. Keep a stress diary and write down the fact. Then analyze what about the situation caused you a negative reaction.
- Learn to recognize thoughts that cause stress.
- Pay attention to the quality of your sleep.
- Exercise regularly. Try more low impact exercises and preferably avoid exercising at least 2 hours before bedtime.
- Find something to do. Try out different hobbies. Gardening, journaling, crocheting, art, learning something new, tufting, baking, pottery. The list is endless!
- Laugh often. A study published in 2008 found that even the anticipation of laughter leads to a decrease in blood levels of cortisol, as well as two other stress hormones, adrenaline, and norepinephrine.
- Get a pet. A study showed that interaction with animals affects stress and found that long-term interaction with dogs, even strangers, as well as pet ownership, has a positive effect on cortisol levels. In addition, the interaction between owner and dog increases the level of oxytocin in both.
- Eat more cortisol-lowering foods. Think dark chocolate, probiotics, black tea, green tea, avocados, green leafy vegetables, berries, bananas, nuts and seeds.
- Spend time in nature. A simple walk around the neighborhood, walking barefoot in the grass, birdwatching, gardening, a walk in the park! Just being outside and doing some deep breathing will work wonders.

TW TMI AND SA MENTIONS/ TALKING ABOUT MY PHYSICAL PROBLEMS FROM IT
Big tw also nsfw because I'm talking about my body
I just need to talk about it because it bothers me so if this will trigger/offend you please do not read
Last warning seriously I'm talking about my physical problems caused by multiple sexual assaults over the years so it is about my privates and what happened to them and how it affects me emotionally as I go through life with it and my relationships
Okay so here's something kinda weird about me is like I don't have a taint. Like I think it's called a perineum. It's the space between your vag and your but. Like I really don't have one?
Idk if I do have one I guess it's really small like I'm talking maybe 3 centimeters or like half an inch max. I also have like a scar in that area that causes a lot of problems for me like especially with anything intimate.
And it really sucks that I have it because it makes sex SOOOO PAINFUL like 80 percent of the time it just burns and hurts because of the skin right there at the bottom. It's weird it's like it didn't heal right and the skin covers like part of my opening at the bottom so every time I get entered the wrong way it rips.
Yes I said that. It rips all the time. And like I can feel exactly when it does and it makes me so upset and frustrated because I know it's just going to hurt me so badly the rest of the intercourse.
I mean I've never seen a doctor about the ripping but I'm almost certain it was from being assaulted many times and maybe the rip didn't heal right and maybe that's why it continues to re rip itself every time.
It just hurts and it reminds me of the pain I felt before when I was being assaulted and it really makes sex hard for me. There's been many times where I have been in the middle of sex and he rips me and then I'll cry and ruin everything.
I've always wondered if anyone else deals with this too? Like if any of you read this far and are a survivor of csa or sa, do you guys deal with anything similar to this or do you have any physical problems that popped up after your abuse/assault(s)?
Thank you for reading I just wanted to get this off of my chest.

On one hand I’m glad I finally have a real diagnosis. On the other hand I’m still in excruciating pain and it’s only getting worse. I’m scared of surgery but I also can barely function day to day anymore.
