CLOSED AS OF JUNE 2024!!! WILL ANNOUNCE IF/WHEN THEY ARE BACK OPEN, THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST <3
I am happy to announce that after an extended hiatus, commissions are open until I burn out for the foreseeable future !! I know it's long but please read the information below carefully if you're interested in paying me to draw ur guys <3
[PRICING] ❖ bust (chest-up): $45  ❖ half (waist-up): $60 ❖ ¾ (knee-up): $75 ❖ fullbody: $95
each additional character is +80% of base price [maximum 3 characters per commission!]
I may charge up to +25% of base price for more complex props/designs
all finished pieces will be at 350dpi, but I will choose the final canvas size unless otherwise requested.
your choice of render style: lined & coloured, painted, or somewhere in between! I am comfortable with all three options and pricing is unaffected; this is purely an aesthetic choice. If you aren't sure/have no preference, I will take liberty based on what I think would suit the piece best. This cannot be changed once I have reached the colouring stage, so choose wisely!
RENDER STYLE OPTION DETAILS I. lined & coloured: think traditional anime illustration-style pieces. Lineart can be smooth or scratchy at your request but is clearly visible within the piece regardless. ❖ examples: x x x x II. painting: blocky, textured shapes with visible brush stokes. Lineart is integrated into the piece to provide structure, but is not the main focus. ❖ examples: x x x x III. hybrid: what it says on the tin ! varies from piece to piece but features elements of both my lined and painted styles. No hard-set conventions, however lineart is typically used for detailed areas such as hair, whereas clothes and skin tend to look more painterly. ❖ examples: x x x x
[WILL‌ ‌DRAW]‌  ❖ OCs‌ ‌ ‌ ❖ fanart‌ *while not mandatory, in order to ensure best results I recommend your commission feature characters from a fandom that I have previously drawn content for or have otherwise expressed interest in. ❖ light‌-moderate ‌blood/gore‌ ❖ backgrounds *all finished pieces will include a simple background (ie. a solid colour or minimally-patterned backdrop for some visual flavour). Detailed backgrounds will be priced on a case-by-case basis depending on what you are looking for but will have a MINIMUM cost of $40
‌[WON’T‌ ‌DRAW]‌ ‌ ❖ NSFW‌ ‌(suggestive‌ ‌stuff‌ ‌is‌ ‌ok‌ ‌but‌ ‌nothing‌ ‌explicit.‌ ‌Ask‌ ‌me‌ ‌in‌ ‌your‌ ‌email‌ ‌if‌ ‌you’re‌ ‌not‌ ‌sure‌ ‌and‌ ‌we‌ ‌can‌ ‌work‌ ‌something‌ ‌out!)‌ ‌ ‌ ❖ [char] x self-insert ❖ furry*/mecha/bara‌ ‌*regular animals or simplistic‌ ‌animal‌ ‌appendages‌ ‌(ears/tails)‌ ‌are‌ ‌ok I am a catboy advocate‌  ‌❖ heavy‌ ‌blood/gore/violence‌ ‌  ❖ ships that weird me out ❖ real‌ ‌people‌ ‌*please‌ ‌also‌ ‌avoid‌ ‌using‌ ‌photos‌ ‌of‌ ‌real‌ ‌people‌ ‌as‌ ‌reference‌ ‌(ie.‌ ‌for‌ ‌an‌ ‌OC’s‌ ‌appearance)‌ if possible! ❖ complex‌ metal/mechanical props (cars, vehicles, armor/weaponry, etc.)

I want to talk about some fun stuff I have had knocking around my head regarding the Magnus archives
Note: is it Canon? I don’t know and I don’t care. @jonnywaistcoat gave us a bunch of fun toys to play with. I wanna play with them. I am not gonna tell anyone if their opinions on Magnus are right or wrong because it doesn’t matter! it’s a story. It’s fiction. It doesn’t matter if you picture white Archivist, black Archivist, asian Archivist - that’s how we end up with fun stuff like mermaid Tim! Imagine everything, and anything - it doesn’t matter, and that’s the fun of it! Also, I am keenly aware I am (checks watch) 8 years late to this fandom and I may be spouting stuff long since discussed, so forgive me if I am getting excited discovering long trodden ground.
I digress. So. One of the many things I love about Magnus is the fun and very clear metaphors that are used to describe the entities/ fears and what’s going on in the story. One of my favourites is the colour wheel theory. During the show I would get confused between the different entities particularly the stranger and the spiral but if the entities are like colours then this makes perfect sense: they do bleed into each other. So I wanted to try and transcribe these entities onto colours not thinking so much about which particular colour I think they ought to be, but how they complement or clash with each other. Disclaimer, not an artist. At all. I don’t know if I’ll do a good job - but that’s not really what I wanna talk about.
Death/Terminus/The End isn’t a colour. Death is black-and-white. And death isn’t like any of the others.
This is just to say, that the way I read it - death, as an entity, is treated differently.
Jonny himself said in calls and livestreams that death was actually his main fear, maybe still is? So that might lend itself to different considerations.
In TMA, death is described as the fear of death, dying and nonexistence and all of that cosmological shit that most of us feel. However, TMA stories of death also include the opposite fear which is the fear of not being able to die. This is equivalent to the Eye finding someone who is afraid of being watched and putting them in a box, where no one can ever see them again.  The fact that this person in the pyramid can’t die and wants to, the fact the reapers, in escaping death achieve basic immortality - and often are not so sure they like it - this would be a very weird way to create a fear of death, by creating an apparent desire for it!
So I think within the universe, this fear is special because it encapsulates itself and its opposite - whereas the other fears have distinct opposites which are separate entities (buried and vast, eye and dark). Not only that, but as season 5 showed us, there are fears that can combine and match with each other, and there’s no fear that death DOESN’T complement!  Like yes, actual death will stop fear, but a healthy dose of the fear of dying will go with everything. So in the colour wheel theory, I say fear of death is black and creates shades with other colours, and fear of not-death is white and creates tints (I just really like this metaphor!).
I’d love to make anthropomorphic art of the entities as individuals, and groups of individuals, based on matching colours. Example - Death, The Buried, The Corruption all work together as a buried alive fear. Unfortunately my fine art skills are dismal, so I’ll let more talented people have a go if they like this idea. I get why I haven’t seen so much of this, as the avatars kind of do this anthropomorphism, but death itself as a concept has been characterised for thousands of years (I am a big fan of Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman’s versions!), and we have 4 (+1?) horsemen of the apocalypse bringing war and pestilence into humanoid form so I reckon it could be pretty interesting how people envision the entities. Personally I imagine the vast like Junji Ito’s Spiral-faced girl (she’ll pull you in!).
Anyway, that’s my perspective on blending fears like colours, and why Death really isn’t like any of the others.

i've been thinking about a thing for a while, how come i feel like game developers shape their games a lot based on player feedback and requests, whereas it isn't the case in other artistic mediums? like if you were to be doing a visual artwork, you wouldn't stop at the sketch and ask ppl to look at your lineart and say what shapes are good, what colours should go where, or how a background should look... right? while in game development i feel like it's more common to make a demo or a wip and actively ask people for feedback beyond just playtesting for bugs and unintended effects and whatnot... am i wrong about this observation, or is there some reasoning for it? ofc this would depend on things like whether ur game is a commission piece or if you're aiming for commercial success...
I see where you're coming from; On one hand games aren't exclusively art but rather a blend of consumer software and art, and the software aspect works against the art aspect in that sense. On the other hand I'd argue that games aren't unique with respect to actively seeking feedback.
Games sit at an intersection of art and software both in their production and representation, and software is typically viewed as tool where changes are expected to be made in order to improve it (e.g. fixing bugs, improving features, streamlining processes). If a traditional artist wants to change something about a traditional painting they'd have to like...re-do that part of the painting and call everyone who previously saw it back to the art gallery or something, whereas software pipelines have empowered changes through just uploading a new build for users to see. I think games are viewed a bit more like software so they're just obviously just implicitly easier to update than traditional art forms, but also that they're going to be revisited again and again by the end user, as opposed to something like a painting which is usually only viewed occasionally at a gallery. I think in that respect games are just sort of a more 'flexible' medium than some other ones.
Games also take like...way longer to make on average than a painting or piece of art on average, and typically with any art the more time you spend on it the more you want to validate your assumptions lest you find out it actually sucks. I'm sure if a painting took 4 years to complete the artist would be checking with other people to ensure that their vision isn't way off-base, because that's a lot of time to spend on one painting only to mess it all up. Because of long and resource-intensive production times, things like crowdfunding and Early Access exist in order to preemptively secure capital to ensure the rest of the game can be made (because games are EXPENSIVE). This - for better and worse - also means that devs have to include consumers as part of the production process, lest they have invested in something that doesn't meet their standard.
However I generally think 'video game exceptionalism' is pretty ridiculous in almost any conversation, and I'm against the idea that games do almost anything exclusively that other mediums don't or can't. I don't often believe that is the case.
For example, there's people who commission artists and are given WIPs of the piece as it comes along, and are within their right to ask and tell the artist to change things, re-do shapes, and so on. Art commissions and patrons have existed on this relationship basically since art has existed. I've done mural work and the process is similar, sending owners the WIP of the piece and asking for corrections or feedback, and WIPs or plans of works are often shared with the local community to ensure the mural meets the standards of people living in the area who aren't even paying or it. In the case of commissions they're usually the exclusive financial contributor to the piece, which isn't dissimilar to an investor or publisher telling a dev to change an element of the game either, and could equally apply to early access or crowdfunding contributors. There's also movies which do preview screenings of films about to come out and adjust them based on the feedback of the viewers, which isn't dissimilar to how demos or betas work on a conceptual level and I understand this is a fairly common practice in film. I think any medium that's intended to be sold usually has some element of review within the process, because everyone wants their product to both be good and sell well.
This being said I think one thing games culture has done is uniquely distorted players into thinking that that's some sort of...consumer 'right' that they have to demand change, despite the fact they are not personally and exclusively paying the artist for the development of the work and ultimately are buying a product that is already completed. I won't elaborate on that here because this reply is already long, but I have often found that the loudest and angriest voices are the ones who are actually the least invested in the final product.

I expect people don't really need to hear this, but I'm feeling it right this minute so imma talk about the chronology of how i write
I used to think to create a cohesive story you had to either write everything down in order, or fully plan out the story before starting so you didn't get lost. I am so glad I stopped doing either of these a long time ago
Now I just write what suits me, and if I go against an earlier scene I either rewrite that or scrap it. There's a lot of scrapping tbh
With fanfic I can kinda get away with it cos I know the characters well enough to be familiar with their emotional arc and jump around the beats pretty nimbly. It's different w original stories cos I don't know the characters so well yet. My first run at it I tried to plan AND write in order, which is the opposite of what I naturally do
Now I'm doing what I want. And I'm rediscovering how easy it is to write like this! And I'm meeting and learning who these guys are as I go, which informs everything else
My early scenes are pretty rough and dialogue/setting heavy. Not a lot of internal thoughts or opinionated observations. After I write a scene (not before!) I summarise what that scene has in it. Some are just "show what meal times are like" and I kinda know the characters are also meeting for the first time. But their dialogue is gonna change, I'm gonna write some throw away line in two months time that reshapes the whole first meeting and then I'll go back and rewrite the interactions to fit. Or put it in another scene. But I'll always have something based on this that shows what meal times are like. And that's great. Cos rn the scene is done, I've given it it's little green colour label on Scrivener, and I can move tf on. Later, I'll know these guys better and it'll be a better scene.
I know this is what a first draft is, but I always had in mind that the first draft is done when you finish the ending. But I'm on the third draft of some scenes and I'm not even at the second act. And those third drafts are my guiding rods for characterisation cos by this point they're supporting each other in this complex foreshadowing, emotional beat, cross referential ways that make the whole thing cohesive. The other scenes, well, they're place holders to keep me moving forwards. Even some of the really hot ones.
Like, the scene where they fuck in the sapling room is sexy, but ultimately is probably gonna change cos it's such a pivotal moment and I don't know how it'll reverberate yet. Whereas the scene where they spontaneously decide to try edging? That's had a few rewrites and has some cool complex emotions and foreshadowing going on, as well as toe dipping into mutual dependency, and I like it very much now. It's doing what I want and any changes from here on should be pretty small.
I can particularly remember laying in bed two weeks after writing the edging scene and going 😶 he's being too open about being upset about the day, there's no way he'd discuss that yet. And disappointedly decided to remove all of the motivating force and put that sex somewhere else and face rewriting the whole emotional beat. But I reread it and was like... Hang on... The motivation can stay as long as he lies... And then the pov character can establish some of his thick headedness in not noticing... And it's not exactly heathy... Yum
But that needed two weeks of noodling for me to realise. And now it's foreshadowing the act three plot twist! That I haven't written yet cos I have too many ideas for how to do the reveal and they're all juicy
Anyway, I'm loving being free to rewrite and change stuff constantly. And like, also gives me the freedom to drag and drop things into different points in the chronology if I wanna try it out with relatively little editing cos so far the scenes are mostly surface level.
It's good. I'm good. It's been like seven weeks of free form writing when I feel like it and it's at like 25k without breaking a sweat so. I'm happy ❤️❤️

s01e05 - Bloody Mary
All I remember about this episode is to not say Bloody Mary 3 times in the mirror, and that at the end, there is a ton of mirrors.
And that's all I remember.
My review style is to type my thoughts scene by scene while I watch the episode, so I have no further thoughts on this episode yet.
Better people would probably watch the ep first while making notes, but I am not a better person so I make a whole post while the episode is on.
I do a lot of pausing while I watch 😂
Post watch edit, okay I'm not gonna lie, I kinda don't care for this episode, it's fine, but I just don't really care about it. I don't feel like on a second watch it carries forward the boys plot that much. Maybe that's because I know the reveals already, but yeah... I just don't care for it.
The opening is very strong on Sam's want to find Jess's killer, and Deans insistence on hunting.
Tumblr media
It's a bit weird having the cold open happen after the title screen, I don't feel like that's what happens in later seasons.
Anyway... we open on a group of girls pressuring another girl to say 'Bloody Mary' 3 times into the bathroom mirror.
The girl does do it, and her friends bang on the bathroom door, because that's what's fun when you are a kid. Its definitely happened to me post horror movie when I was younger.
Her dad asks her and her friends to keep it down - fair enough. You then see him passing mirrors on his way back to bed and see a female form in the mirror, which is very creepy.
Then her older sister comes home and walks up the stairs to see a pool of blood in the bathroom.
It's a very good cold open, that is very creepy.
Tumblr media
We get Sam in an oddly coloured nightmare. He sees Jess burning on the ceiling and engulfed in blue flames??? weird choice but okay.
Dean wakes him up, clearly worried about Sam. Dean implies that Sam hasn't been talking about his nightmares. 'You know sooner or later we're gonna have to talk about this'. This is an example of Dean clearly being open to talking about Sam's problems, whereas Sam is very much keeping tight lipped about all of this.
We find out they are in Toledo, Ohio.
The coroner is being very difficult in helping out the boys, who say they are students getting information for their paper. He is taking an attitude with Dean and not giving them any help. At one point he throws Deans words back in his face and Dean says to Sam that he is 'going to hit him in his face, I swear'. Dean isn't always very good with people trying to hold up their hunt and especially with men talking down to him, sometimes he turns it flirtatious in some way, but in this case the guy is closer to their age and he just gets annoyed... which, fair enough, the guy is a pain.
They end up having to pay this guy to show them the body, with Sam using Deans 'earned' money to do so. Dean gets an attitude about this because Sam didn't earn the money, Dean did, but Sam clearly sees money won 'in a poker game' as unearned or of less personal value.
Sam has a low opinion of the hunter lifestyle which we have already seen, and with his lower opinion of it comes a condescension towards Dean and how he gets them money. The show makes it seem like Dean is the one who gets the money for them, and Dean seemed genuinely annoyed that Sam gave it away.
There are headcanons all over the place for how far Dean has had to go to get money, one of which Jensen has helped put into the universe. I generally believe that it wouldn't be a stretch for Dean to have had to resort to some unsafe methods to make sure the family had money when John would go off and hunt and leave the boys alone, but I think that by s1 he is only hustling pool and using credit card scams and not having to resort to any other means. Later in the season the family's blasé attitude towards Deans lack of care for his person and the normality of Dean using himself as bait shows that they likely dont know how much danger his face and beauty could get him into.
Tumblr media
The boys go to the house from the cold open, and we see that the younger sister blames herself and Bloody Mary for the father's passing. Dean reassures her 'he didn't say Bloody Mary, did he?'
They go on a wander round the house to see the crime scene, and there is a slightly funny moment where Sam doesn't want to say Bloody Mary in the bathroom.
They are caught by the sister's friend and Sam pulls the all emotional and caring card so that she doesn't call them out on snooping.
We get a short exposition scene of Sam explaining all about the lore of Bloody Mary and we see that they are in the library and the computers are out of order.
Tumblr media
Jill is on the phone to Charlie, and decides to say Bloody Mary in the mirror... like an idiot. She says it and then screams to freak out Charlie, but after she hangs up and is getting changed we see Mary in the mirror in another very well done creepy scene.
Jill sees herself in the mirror and her reflection isn't copying her movements, which is scary. The reflection says 'you did it, you killed that boy' all the while her eyes are bleeding... again creepy. Jill then dies.
Tumblr media
We get Sam having the same dream as before - the blue one - and Dean sitting across the room. Sam wants to know why Dean let him fall asleep and Dean says it's because he's 'an awesome brother'.
Charlie calls the boys about Jills death. They break into Jills room to see if they can find anything and Charlie is now 100% on side with the boys.
We find out that potentially Jill killed an 8 year old boy with her car - she did kill him, its just the friend only said it was Jill's car. His name was written on the back of the mirror.
We get another name on the back of the other mirror. We discover that she is Donna's mom, and by linking back, the assumption is that Donna's dad killed her mom.
Tumblr media
We get some exposition about mirrors revealing secrets - which might be important later in the episode - and about who Bloody Mary is, and the boys go and see the old detective who dealt with Marys murder case.
The old detective states that 'Mary spent her last living moments trying to expose this guys secrets' which fair enough, I respect that. The mirror that was there when she died was returned to the family and the boys go and find out who has that mirror.
Meanwhile Donna and Charlie are in the bathroom and Donna is an idiot and says Bloody Mary 3 times in the mirror because she doesn't believe. Even if I didn't believe which tbh I don't, I wouldn't say it in the mirror if others had died, I'm not an idiot.
Tumblr media
The boys are in the car talking about mirrors again, when Charlie phones, they get her to their motel, and Charlie starts to explain what happened.
But Dean very quickly explains that he means that she needs to explain her secret. Charlie explains that she had a loving but scary boyfriend, and they got in a fight, and he said that if she left, he would kill himself and she left and he did. The fact that the show paints this as Charlie believing that she is at fault is incredibly annoying, because he was being manipulative and it's not on her to stay with that.
Tumblr media
Thankfully in the next scene, Dean says exactly that. But 'spirits don't exactly see in shades of grey' which is a great line.
Sam offers to summon Mary because just smashing the mirror isn't enough. He is very certain about Mary coming after him.
After this statement, Dean breaks about the Jess issue. He says that he's tired of Sam blaming himself, that it isn't his fault that the 'thing' got Jess. He says the nightmares are gong to kill Sam. He says it wasn't Sam's fault
He offers to let Sam take a swing at him if it'll make him feel better because Dean 'dragged him away from her'. Dean is big on allowing people to blame him for things that aren't his fault, and Dean clearly feels some sort of blame for Jess as he brought up Sam swinging at him very quickly.
I know keeping secrets is part of the Winchester brothers life story, but this whole 'I have a secret, and I'm going to tell you I have a secret, but I wont tell you what the secret is' thing is maddening. Sam is keeping secrets that he doesn't have to keep and believing that he has this more important journey to be on, but isn't letting Dean in on what the journey is or what the secret is.
Tumblr media
Anyway... Sam summons Bloody Mary, and chaos happens.
We see the boys breaking mirrors, and then Dean has to go out and deal with the police and by deal, I mean that he tries to talk to them and instead knocks them out. All the while Sam is seeing evil reflection Sam, and we learn that Sam was dreaming of Jess's death for days before it happened and that he blames himself for ignoring them and trying to be 'normal'.
Mary then climbs out the mirror like a scary lady and is holding the boys down with power.
But never fear... Dean holds up a mirror and shows Mary her reflection in the mirror and Mary is vanquished.
The mirrors all broken should have given us an inclination of how unlucky the boys would be in life.
Sam tells Charlie she should forgive herself for her boyfriend's death, good advice, and Dean says that Sam should follow his own advice.
Dean asks again what Sam's secret is and instead of using this perfect opportunity to tell Dean, Sam doesn't. Again... maddening.

i was wondering, how did you get to develop your art? im currently in a process where i am trying to experiment and go beyond the need to create art that is realistic (as in "objectively like reality as it is", like I was being told by both school and family). i feel like I struggle a lot to follow my inspiration because of this, and I am also trying to learn how to draw scenes from my own ordinary life, but unfortunately I am quite impatient and frustrated with my inability to create what I wish to create + perfectionism in general makes me scared of using colour as well 😭 I really admire your art so much, both your sketches and finished pieces, and I have always wondered your own learning process throughout the years. please feel free to not reply if you feel uncomfortable cause I know it is a very personal process as well, and above all I hope you are doing well and I am sending you endless love <333
🥺🥺 this is so lovely to receive because if im completely honest there are multiple moments where i feel exactly as you've just described and despite pushing through it, a message like this is very validating that ive progressed in some way
i dont mind sharing at all. i started drawing/painting when i was 21/22 which is relatively late and i was so fearful because despite having a vision for what i wanted to create i lacked any skill that could help me bring what was in my minds eye to fruition. i was also insanely depressed and in the middle of getting my degree at uni (so felt like i had no time to pursue art, at least not to the extent i wanted to). — my plan to get better consisted of multiple things. id draw everyday. i had/have two styles i'd practice, one realism, and the other 'freestyle'? basically draw only from my head and from the rhythms that came naturally to my hand, no references. by doing that, or drawing the human figure/portraits/cars/buildings from my imagination, not only was i reinforcing what id actually learned from my study of the fundamentals, but i was learning to incorporate my own creativity into the rigid structure that sometimes comes from only drawing from reference. by doing that and drawing studies every day i began to build a library in my head of images/poses/character archetypes i could pull from which made drawing from my imagination easier, but also had the structural knowledge of forms/perspective/anatomy to make them look credible. id do this whenever i had free time, and once i left uni began practicing anywhere from 6-9 hours daily. a bit extreme but i felt like i had time to make up for since i started drawing relatively late in life. only tip there is to balance practice with making finished pieces. finished pieces will show you which fundamentals you still need to work on & how much progress you've made. they also show the completion of a thought whereas practice only gives you the tools to bring that thought to reality
just so u know, ur practice of the fundaments is not in vain. you just need to revive your own capacity to draw from your imagination/subconscious. the main thing is knowing your going to find your work horrible for a long time before it gets better. the joy has to come from the process of creating rather than the end product. by the time it gets better, your eye will also have improved, so you still wont be satisfied. thats where growth comes in. being your biggest critic is what will make you great, as long as you remember where you came from (date and keep your work so you can look back on it) and the role criticism plays. separate your skill from your self worth.
something helpful i was once told is along the lines of 'perfectionism is a lie we tell ourselves to justify our procrastination. no one is ever perfect, so the only way to gain skill is to practice. you cant grow if you dont begin. so if your really a perfectionist, your only solution is to start'
i would love to see your work someday and hope i will. wishing you luck and sending you all the courage to begin and be great. you got this <3

Hello! I’d love to ask for an LMK matchup, but I’m not sure if you do them for anons. Would you also mind me resubmitting this ask if you don’t?
Appearance:
I have dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. Also vertically challenged coming at 5’1.
Pronouns & Sexuality:
I go by she/her and I’m heterosexual.
Aesthetic:
My actual aesthetic is casual with a preference for lighter colours. However, my favourite aesthetics are vintage and light academia.
Hobbies:
I love indoor activities, but I’m open to taking walks and going outside. I usually draw, play video games, and watch video essays about anything that catches my interest. I can’t do anything too physically taxing or I will suffer.
My Type:
Just someone who’s patient with me as I try to figure out myself, helping me whenever I get stuck, and is sorta similar to me in a way. I want someone who understands and doesn’t mind me being wishy washy with my affection. Doesn’t mind that I am not physically affectionate and can struggle with being affectionate. Someone that prefers quiet moments, doesn’t mind my occasional rants. We have a silent connection, and can usually tell what the other wants/needs. Someone who’s willing to talk and be honest with me about how they feel, and I can wait if they’re not ready. Looks wise, I prefer less muscular, taller than me (not a tall ask haha), and cute/pretty guys (I don’t mind hot/handsome though.)
Personality:
I can be slightly withdrawn and anxious at first meeting, opting to be accommodating and generally nice. But once I open up, I can be energetic and talkative. I’m very open-minded to everything and everyone (logically, there’s no reason for me to hate!), but I have trouble opening up and talking about my emotions, and can only do that comfortably under some form of anonymity (online friends for example) or if someone has prior experience with me venting. I will jump to defend people close to me if they’re being disrespected, and I can get pretty heated in the process. My friends tell me I can be brutally honest, borderline mean sometimes, but I really don’t mean to be (I have a different perception of what is rude.) Slightly touch-averse, but I won’t mind if you ask. I don’t like myself, but I don’t actively put myself down either. Finally, I am clueless about pop culture, and I can come off as pretty boring because of that.
Characters I don’t want:
I don’t want to be matched with Peng, The Mayor, or any character similar because I don’t like their personalities. Also Pigsy, Tang and Sandy, because I genuinely cannot see them in a romantic light.
Thank you! And I’m sorry for this long ask.
I match you with
Ao Lie
Tumblr media
You two are like Yin and Yang or the sun and the moon ( Yes I did that on purpose😂). You are both so alike, yet different.
Where one person struggles, the other excels and just ends up lifting the other person up. For example, he struggles to stand up for himself or express when he doesn't like something whereas you're blunt yet honest
In that way you both learn and grow with each other and make each better
His personality is much like yours. He's also energetic and talkative and nice, but he also struggles with self-confidence and liking himself. He also knows you're a lot like him so he makes sure that even if you don't like yourself that you know he does- you do the same for him too
He kind of has to stick with indoor activities or something not too taxing because bless him he's so clumsy he might actually accidentally hurt himself so he tends to stick with you in whatever activity you are doing
Draw him something and he will keep it on his person at all times. Its so dear to him.
He will of course respect any physical boundaries and/or be understanding of your level of affection.
You two are actually so close, you just get each other. You don't have to tell each other to know what the other needs, so he will likely already know what you need at the moment before you say it.
Whatever you need he's there just like you're there for him .

The Street Where You Live (Bugborg Week - June 16)
Summary: Nebula is tired of Mantis being an useless student, so she decided that, instead, is going to waster her time with hear with small talk…apparently, none of them are good at speaking in a chill manner.
Relationships: Nebula/Mantis
A/N: Written for day 5 of @bugborgweek2023
Prompt: Based on a song
Word count: 920
CW: parental abuse, childhood trauma, mentions of death
Also on AO3!
Nebula didn’t understand why on Earth she had said yes to this job offer. Yes; she wanted to be able to leave home as soon as possible, and it wasn’t as if she had many talents apart from physical defence and formal etiquette (things that happen when your father is a mafia boss), but she had never been good with nice people of around her age…
Still, there she was, in front of a smiling girl a couple of years younger than herself, sitting in the most uncomfortable position imaginable while wearing green raggedy clothes. Between her posture and the outfit…she got why people called her Mantis. Also, she wished she could be squashed as easy as the insect, since this was already their fourth session and she couldn’t even choose the proper spoon for soup.
Still, she actually felt pity for the girl; all her siblings had died either under mysterious circumstances after having tried to face their father or in the line of duty while trying to make him proud. Mantis’ only reason to still be alive was that the 1920s weren’t exactly a progressive time, and his father wouldn’t allow a girl to either become part of the Army or the Police Forces, nor give her enough free space to get a formed opinion that would make her want to rebel against him.
Nebula hated his father; he was abusive and there was barely anything good to be said about him even outside of how he treated his multiple suspiciously adopted children, but, at least, he valued them having a mind of their own and didn’t care about their gender or interests under the sheets , as he called them.
“Ok, we are getting nowhere and after this I have to go and try to stole a prisoner from my sister so my father actually realised I am the best out of the two of us. Maybe I will kill him, just in case he decides to speak well of Gamora. He won’t be the first idiot falling for her…wonder why” she reflected out loud while sitting down. “…what do you like doing?”
“What do you mean?” the younger lady was clearly perplexed by the question.
“What do you like doing? For example: I like fighting and not having useless conversations”.
“This is a useless conversation, and that is not something you do. That is something you avoid doing…wait, do you only like the stuff your father thought you?”
Nebula scoffed.
“As if you were any different, Miss Perfect Mantis Planet” Mantis lowered her eyes, and Nebula thought she had hurt her with a far too brutal honesty. Then, before she could even form an educated opinion whereas that made her feel good or bad, the other young woman kneeled on the floor and dismantled a couple of wooden panels, to show a complete painting set, showing drawings of faraway lands.
“When I was little, my dad was an ambassador and we travelled a lot . I wish I could travel again…I really don’t care where, though I’ve heard Seville in Spain is really nice and hot; I am tired of London’s clouds. I also draw; feelings, mostly. I just…put the colours where the feelings would go. Of people, or for people. I like to make people feel things ; like I make you be frustrated”.
This shouldn’t have been enough for Nebula to open her absolutely hardened heart but, here was the thing: she was so unused to people being honest without being scared of her, or purposely cruel to her, that the difference was enough for her to do something that would commonly be absolutely out of character for her.
“Yeah, you are pretty good at this…I…I might like when…when I got people that also want my classes, but the self-defence ones, the crap that is actually fun and not only for appearances. Especially when it is when actual kids, not like you, I…think I kind of like kids”.
“I do too, but at a distance. Except for the girl of my bodyguard. She is really kind, and strong. Maybe you would get along. See? They are here” she pointed at a painting of a very muscular man with a woman and child, not small by any measures either. It was painting in warm, peaceful colours.
“Wait, why is it in this colours? Your bodyguard is pretty infamous for his violent temper and this, this brings me…”
“…peace, I know. Because that is who he really is, but don’t get it mistaken: there is also some aggressiveness painted into it. The only reason you don’t get it is because it is already too deep within you, but, don’t worry. I think your palette wouldn’t be as violent as you think either. Maybe…yes, a lot of blue”.
“A lot of blue for the murderous ginger? Yeah, sure”.
“Yes, sure . Now, let’s talk illegal, it’s always fun” she sat somehow in an even more uncomfortable position and, holding her head in between her hands, asked “what was your favourite place to go drink while pretending to be within legal age? I need names”.
Nebula contained a cackle and answered. Perhaps, this class would be a bit longer than usual.
Back on the street, Nebula observed the panel with the name of the street in which the Planet Household was situated “Gunn Street”.
She let a sight scape. She would be walking around said street much more from that moment on.

for ur writing ask game, talk abt any of ur reborn fics :]
Clara. My treasured friend. I am going to be here for months. This is one of the best asks I've ever received and I mean that
(source: this post by void-kissed - hey, that’s me!)
Name a piece of writing that I’ve posted, and I’ll give you some thoughts and analysis of it! - I should probably try and limit this to one bullet point per piece, because I'd like to talk about multiple, but.. who knows what will happen, haha
This will probably get VERY long, but oh well! You asked for this! And I am only too happy to provide what you have asked for!!!!
Alright, here we go!!
Okay, so, I believe the first piece of writing I did for Reborn was To Stand Before The Void, back for Sapphic September two years ago. This is the scene where Luna and Adriana find each other within the Void itself, and.. while it covers some pretty serious thoughts of Luna's that I'll admit I wasn't really sure how best to explain in my writing, I like to think it does still hold up.
One thing I do want to point out is that the events shown in this piece are the reason why this selfship's name is "void-kissed"! As a result of being in the Void as they were here, both Luna and Adriana end up with some.. lasting consequences, shall we say. Luna becomes even more one with the shadows than she already was, almost disappearing into any nearby darkness if you aren't looking at her directly, while the white freckles Adriana had across her face spread into star-like marks found all over her hair and body - she also becomes able to see some of the things that Anna can about people, such as Cain's pitch-black eyes and Taka's broken wing. (I'm not sure whether to say she's aware of her wings by this point though - maybe she can start to feel them, but can't see them/figure out which wings they are until the Giratina quest?)
The stars Luna is walking on are "lifeless" and not shining very brightly at the start because of her intentions to escape into the darkness of the Void, as well as to show that the Void is not really a very good place. However, they are still brighter than the ones Cain was running on because of Luna's own affinity with the Void, as shown by how she is later able to manipulate the New World somewhat thanks to the power of her Emerald Brooch.
I referenced Anna a lot in this writing despite never calling her Anna - for example, she is of course both "little Fantasia" and "the little girl with the Jirachi doll" that is the only one not unsettled by Shade's presence at the end. I also used the quote that Anna is shown with on the wiki page for Reborn about falling stars wishing on each other, because I thought it led nicely into saying that "Right now, Luna's wish was to fall". Anna also supports Adriana in not wanting Luna to die, in the form of the "wishes of the starlight" that are present when she makes her decision.
In the game itself, Luna is very associated with Alice in Wonderland - all of her Pokémon are nicknamed after characters from Wonderland, and Luna's adopted parents even represent both the Mad Hatter (Radomus) and the Looking Glass (Serra) respectively. But if Luna herself is Alice, and is a girl who wishes to live in a land of fairytale, then that makes Adriana Wonderland, the place (or, rather, person) she feels truly at home with. This is the conclusion Luna comes to in the Void, and why her story continues even after the point where she thought she was going to end it.
Luna mistaking Cain for Adri mainly just came out of the fact that both have a fair bit of purple in their outfits, but even then they don't really look all that similar (Cain's design is very bright and colourful, whereas Adriana's is a lot more subdued). So it was mostly just to try and pad things out and show that Cain also gets out safely here (which I could retcon now that I know what the full game does, but oh well).
The first line that Shade says at the end - "Abyss is unrelenting.." - is what he says to the player before battling them if they lost to him in his Gym, while the other lines are ones I made up and tried to make fit how he normally talks. He's the one that successfully pulled Adriana and Luna out of the Void, and he's basically telling them to both keep going and make it to the end of the game by experiencing the final episode/chapter together. But in less fourth-wall-breaking terms than that.
Overall: you can definitely tell I wrote this back when Episode 18 was still the newest update to the game. I think that what I changed in it (i.e. Luna and Cain surviving the Void) could still be true to my version of events, since Cain could still become Umbral during or right before the Diancie quest after getting lost in the New World beforehand maybe? I forget when it is that you see him stuck in there, but I know it's quite early, and maybe his having also been void-kissed contributed to higher susceptibility to the Umbral state. And considering Luna comes back to Reborn during the literal first postgame quest of them all, I don't think much is negatively affected by having her just.. have survived the whole time.
Timeline-wise, I think this one can definitely apply to both third and second. You can just explain it as Shade having dragged the player out of the Void before then going back in for Luna and Adri in the third timeline.
Oh dear, that was perhaps a lot for just one piece. Oh well!
The other piece of writing that I've done for my selfship with Luna was Return on Crow's Wings, which describes Luna and Adriana finally being able to reunite after Adri got stuck in the Carnelia region, since Agate City was not safe to travel back through. For context for those who haven't played the game, the last time the two had met was the Gym battle that Adriana had with Luna, where she won her ninth Gym Badge, and they meet again just after Adriana gets her thirteenth Gym Badge. It's been long enough for Reborn City to become very revitalised as well.
This writing is labelled as only being applicable to second timeline, but the only reason for that is because of Adri flying on the back of Kelaino, her Honchkrow; I hadn't finalised her mono-Ghost-type team yet when I wrote this, so any depiction of her with Pokémon that aren't Ghost-types during the maingame story (except Sidera and Argent) refers to second timeline. However, the same events do still happen the same way in the current/third timeline; it's just that Adriana flies back with the help of Drifter, her Drifblim, instead. I rendered that here, incidentally.
The way the end of the battle is described, with Argent knocking out Noivern and so on, was actually how it went when I played through the game after Episode 19 came out! I remember writing down what happened on each turn of the battle specifically for the purposes of this writing piece.
I actually wrote the last lines of this piece first, because I had used them as a caption for a render of the ending that I'm fairly sure I ended up making before actually finishing the writing. If I hadn't have written those lines, I would probably have let the piece continue to show Luna's reaction outright, and probably ended it on Adriana and Luna finally being able to embrace again after so long ^-^
Technically all you said was Reborn fics, so I can mention Tale of a Corybantic Blade here! It's the piece of writing that's all about Corybantia, Adriana's Honedge, going from when she first finds it in the Mirage Tower to when it evolves to stop Titania stabbing Taka. Again, this is a second-timeline-only piece, because Adri doesn't travel through Tourmaline with Taka in the third timeline.
When I wrote this piece, I had two questions in mind: how many references could I put into one piece of writing, and could I write a piece about Pokémon without making it clear that it's about Pokémon? I like to think that the answer to both of those questions was "yes".
I actually have written an entire analysis document myself about all the references I put in, which you can find here! So.. I probably shouldn't elaborate any more here. I invite you to go and read the document if you want the full analysis of that piece, hehe~
I do have one more piece of Reborn writing, technically, but it's very very short, so I don't know how much I'd say it counts as an outright fic. It's this scene, which I wrote out about the concept of Saphira having an opportunity to go and deal with Sigmund like she so desperately felt she needed to, during the Labradorra section, because Adriana had to heal up her Pokémon before battling him and the PULSE-Mr. Mime.
This piece didn't have a ton of opportunity for me to do anything particularly fun, but I did enjoy portraying Saphira as so furious that "a dragon's fullest might could not have held the Gym Leader back". I also managed to slip in both her and Adriana's Trainer titles as part of this, so that was fun.
Rereading it, I have just noticed one fun thing that I did - namely, describing Adriana coming back into the control centre "just as she had done both a few minutes and one clock ago". This is referencing how Noel refers to the previous timelines as being "clocks ago", rather than, say, "days ago", which I remembered thinking was neat! So, in turn, this line is referring to this piece being ostensibly set in third timeline, as Adriana has already gone through the game's events once before in second timeline.
In general, I also just thought the last three sentences built up to a very vivid image. Sigmund deserved what he got.
Okay!! There we go!! Well over one and a half thousand words of my rambles for you, friend!! Thank you so so much once again for this opportunity, and goodnight!

I Am Currently Into Interview With The Vampire And You're All Going To Get It
Just a little vibe comparison between the AMC and the 1994 film versions of Claudia becoming a vampire.
In the AMC version, the pushing force for Claudia's change comes from Louis, who actively asks Lestat to turn her into a vampire. Note that it's only at this point that Lestat realises Louis was planning on leaving him. It's Lestat who assumes a passive role in this dynamic, relenting and turning Claudia into a vampire by Louis' request. It's what Louis wants, and though it does benefit Lestat as well, that comes across as more of an afterthought.
In the 1994 film version, on the other hand, it's Louis who is passive. He makes no demands, no requests, doesn't offer his input, but rather lets everything happen before his eyes. He takes on a role of a spectator, perhaps trying to avoid any form of responsibility, or perhaps because there is really nothing he can say: He doesn't want Claudia to die, but he doesn't want to put her in the same hell he's in.
This leaves Lestat with the active role. He presents the idea, he feeds her from his wrist, he even gets Claudia her first victim about 10 seconds after she's awakened as a vampire. Now, I think Lestat in the film version had two major motives to change Claudia: The first, and the primary, reason was keeping Louis from leaving, something he reveals he had knowledge of after he's changed Claudia.
The second one, I believe, was preserving Louis' clear conscience. Lestat understood that while he himself believed Louis would eventually become the killer he was meant to be as a vampire, he couldn't let him become that because of Claudia specifically. Maybe this was Lestat trying to spare Louis' feelings out of consideration, or maybe he simply assumed it would have such a negative effect on the already distraught Louis that he would not be able to recover from it, and he would end up losing him anyway.
So, in both versions it's Lestat who changes Claudia, but the roles assumed and the social contexts are vastly different. One could argue that in the AMC version Lestat was acting less selfishly, whereas the 1994 version leaves little room for anything but self-serving motives (and to be honest, AMC's version in this case is more interesting because it gives Lestat's character complexity and depth).
So sorry for grammatical and spelling errors, it's 8:30 am. and I haven't slept at all, I think I can hear colours.

do u have any tips for uhh idk art term....highlight and contour but for art? specifically w digital art? w pencil and paper it feels super intuitive but then when i switch to digital it looks all flat.............
(is it shading? idk what im doing tbsh)
(also hope ur doing well i feel like im crawling into ur asks every two days or smth looking for art tips sorry T_T)
(yuuji comic made me cry so hard btw)
hi rin!!!!!!! that wld be shading/rendering yes hgbhgfjs there’s no One specific term tho so ur all good <3 also omg re: the yuuji comic IM SORRY I KEEP MAKING U CRY GHJKGJDSGHKJ its ok i made a lot of people cry if the death wishes/pos in the tags are anything 2 go by so ur in good company :D i teared up also
i would Also like to apologize in advance because fr me this is one of those Art Things that becomes more intuitive the more u do it so i am a bit. lost as 2 how to explain but i will sukuna voice ganbare ganbare !!!!
it’s all about light sources babes so pick a direction where the light is hitting from and use that as your main point of reference. If u need to remind yourself where the light is coming from i was taught to draw a lil arrow or sun somewhere on your canvas 2 keep track . areas closest to the light or planes that are more Elevated will be brighter than areas farther away or Deeper. When u think of a face, the forehead and cheeks rest Higher than fr example, the eye sockets, so those areas will catch more light and appear brighter. it /is/ kind of like makeup in that way.
also, shadows/highlights can have soft or hard edges depending on how . uh . intense, i guess?? the angle of the light is. like with a box vs a sphere, the former will have a lot more Cut and Defined areas of darkness because the plane where light hits is cut off more directly by the presence of a corner, whereas with a sphere the Slope means that the values follow more of a gradient.
tbh tho if you’re still starting out, to practice light sources and shading it actually might be good to scribble and shade some 3D shapes and spheres/boxes or maybe even draw from life so u can really take time 2 pay attn to how light catches different surfaces . it’s boring work but the practice is never wasted !! lighting can be tricky so try and take the time 2 form Good habits :'> references r ur friends here now more than ever.
other than that, which i feel more or less covers the basics n fundamentals, my wisdoms 2 u and any1 else who will have it: INVEST TIME IN2 FINDING GOOD BRUSHES omg i feel like a lot of that New Artist Look (tm) comes from using default brushes —which on its own is fine, but the kicker is not taking time to get comfortable with how to make the best use of them. the fun of the render is getting to play with textures and colours so find some brush settings that help add a bit of personality!! also . resist defaulting 2 the airbrush tool to shade it Rarely cooperates and can muddy a piece. uhhhh what else what else try not to shade with black for the same reasons ???? i'm scraping the bottom of the barrel here but i hope something here was of any value :'>>

So I should probably go pluralise the tag I'm using for this bc there isn't just one Vex magic grimoire, there's three. You've all seen the big one, I've posted about that one the most. (and I am STILL waiting for my paints to arrive ty AusPost delays wooo. -_-) But there's two other ones, smaller ones, that are part of this collection.
The big one covers Vex magic in all its forms and styles, and the idea/concept is for it to be mostly written by Pharaoh Cub, but with bits written by Scar as well, along with some illustrations bc who doesn't want an illustrated grimoire amirite? Also I want an excuse to DO art to begin with, so. :D So the canon for this book is that it's being written during season 7.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This one is the potions book, and was actually the first book I started for this project long before it became a project lol. I, like many others, am a notebook hoarder, and I had originally planned to use this one for actual planetary magic rituals and such, but for whatever reason, that never happened because my interest in planetary magic shifted away from needing that kind of thing.
So this book has sat by my monitor, unused and unloved, until I got an interest in potion making that collided with my Cubfan hyperfixation, and my brain decided to use this book for potions instead, both minecraft stuff and witchy stuff, in the same way that the Vex magic grimoire will have, like, cake recipes in it bc why not. :D
The illustration there is meant to be of netherwart, but I haven't got around to finalising that sketch yet. And it's on paper because the thing I drew on the other side I coloured with markers and it bled through quite badly (no you can't see it. XD) so I wanted to cover it up somehow.
In my head, this is like just one of Cub's random potion notebooks, with recipes and formulas and experiements and other things of note. There's no specific place in the timeline where this fits in, it's just there idk. The kind of book that was maybe started ages ago, forgotten about, and then he came back to it later when he had run out of other notebooks to fill perhaps. I feel like I'm gonna have to remind myself how to take lab notes again bc that feels like his style.
bc Scar absolutely does magic based on vibes, whereas Cub has a more experimental style that includes taking notes. That's what I feel anyway. Cub's absolutely going to do crazy stuff, but you'll know what he did and how he did it, whereas Scar's more like, idk it just worked idk how! about everything. XD
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is the newest one, The Book of the Stars. This is why I've been cataloguing the names of the stars in Cub's pyramid. I want to include notes on each of those, as well as including a bunch more stars as well bc I will definitely need them to fill out this thicc boi.
I want to finish the star map first before I decide what kind of information I want to include with each star (and galaxy and nebula and constellation). Also how I want to organise and classify them all. A-Z? Type? Real and then not-real? idk idk idk. Part of me had wanted to include, like, idk lore or something with each one, but I'm not sure that's necessarily the right way to go. idk. We'll see.
This is mostly meant to be a catalogue of stars as opposed to a grimoire, tho there may be some stellar magic information in here too idk yet. But the canon associated with this is that this is where the Evokers take their names from, from the stars listed in this book, to honour the knowledge Cub has taught them about Vex magic and how to use it more effectively. bc humans - players - name things, and once upon a time, the ConVex named a High Priest, and that is the origin of Evokers having names. Vex don't need them bc they are a collective (unless they need to stay in the overworld or are possessing a player, but even then, it is simply a tool and not something that belongs to any individual Vex alone), but Evokers aren't Vex, and are individual enough to take them on bc they all have different skills and talents and ranks amongst the Vex.
Tumblr media
(@calcium-rods that's the star you're after <3 hidden in the corner on the eastern wall)
I've also wondered about whether to include the screencaps I took from the pyramid to show the stars and their names like the one above but I suspect that might be better suited to a sideblog type of situation bc printing all those out would go through far too much black ink. DX So we'll see what I do with that.
Also I'm approaching this as a practicing witch, and that's been a very interesting exercise. I love creating magic systems, but I also love writing about witchcraft and magic, and this is such an interesting project for me intellectually as well because it's not just creating new magics and explaining them, but also looking at different mechanics and ways to do magic, and how those blend in with some of the real magic stuff I've been studying, like astrology and stellar magic, planetary magic, and potion making. It's not my aim to be, like, evangelising about these practices through this project and trying to get others into witchcraft. I'm just doing something creative with my interests. It's like how you learn more about your own native language by studying another, right? I'm doing this more for my own mind and seeing these magics in a different context can help me make sense of them for my own work.
Also the current page I'm working on in the grimoire about Scar's glamours is I think going to end up getting quite deep into identity and masks and shapeshifting, and that's a very interesting idea to roll around in my head as much as it is to write fanfic about. bc masks can be used in very interesting ways for magic and shapeshifting, and the ConVex wearing their Vex masks asks a lot of those deep questions about the magic those masks use, and how they deal with identity in spite of the blackouts and possession the masks seem to give them. I'm also on board with the idea that the masks enable shifting into their Vex forms, that it unlocks that magic that they wouldn't otherwise be able to harness.
And so that's a really deep and interesting topic to explore, and to see how Cub and Scar might explain and understand it. bc from the start, I wanted this grimoire to be a conversation between them, as opposed to a dry feeling grimoire with academic-style articles. That's no fun. I want to practice voices, and characterisation, and explore the Vex stuff in a way I don't think I could do with a more prose-based bog-standard fanfiction style. And I get to flex my creative muscles in new ways, and that's very stimulating right now.
Tho i still have no idea how to classify this stuff. Is it fanfic? meta fanfic? something else entirely? idk anymore. I'm just gonna keep working at it and posting my progress and hopefully I'm not the only one who ends up really enjoying following this process. <3
Anyway. I think I've rambled enough for now lol. I have more work to do on this, but the star map work can wait bc migraine lol, so I might do some more mask chat and see where that conversation takes me.
Also, if anyone has advice for how to archive this project properly on tumblr, lemme know? I want to make sure it's all easily found and in one place, but not sure if a separate page on my main or a sideblog is the better way to do that alongside the tag I'm using for updates here. idk what works best for tumblr so, any advice would be much appreciated, ty. <3

ˏˋ°*♡➷ get to know me ༊*·˚
I was tagged in this lovely game by @sflow-er- i stole your exact post dont hate me i love doing these things also im not gonna tag ppl bc i have anxiety but if you wanna do this consider yourself tagged by me
(explanations below if anyone cares)
The idea is to pick a favourite movie, character, animal, drink, song, season, book, colour, and hobby and present them as pictures.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ok so first off, movie; I don't really tend to have favourite movies (i don't watch a lot of movies in general) and at the same time every movie I have ever watched is my favourite. For today, tho, Dead Poets Society has been the latest rewatch and it just Hit Me and I haven't stopped thinking about it for 3 days now so that's getting the favourite movie spot.
Character; Mike Wheeler. I think Mike is severely undervalued (by the GA especially) and there are sooooo many interesting things to his character that i wish were explored deeper than they are currently. (I am also a strong mike-in-the-closet believer but that's besides the point)
Animal; Whales. I don't really have an insightful reason for this. When i was 11 someone asked me what my favourite animal was and because i wanted to be special i said it was a whale and its stuck by me ever since.
Drink; Not Heineken, but i do love me a good beer. I was debating between beer and iced tea, but then i realised that whereas i only really drink iced tea in summer i am always always down for a good beer. not heineken tho, its just the first picture i could find.
Song; Another hard one, because as for the movie every song i have ever heard is my favourite song, but i chose It's All Futile! It's All Pointless! (wilbur soot version in particular) because I feel like it resonates with me a lot and while i love the lovejoy version, the og has a special place in my heart. I encourage all of you to listen to it if you havent and while you're at it throw in the entire Maybe I Was Boring album.
Season; Winter. I love winter. I love christmas and i love new years and i love snow and i love not sweating my balls off at 7 in the morning and i love that it reminds me of home and my grandparents. i love winter.
Book; Another 'i love everything ive ever consumed' answer. but a little bit different. This is probably not my favourite book ever but i read this in the past year at a time where i was doing particularly bad and as cringe as it sounds it did help me a lot in realising that yes, life is shitty, but maybe its okay after all. if youve read the book youll know what im talking about.
Colour; yeah no this doesnt have any fun reasoning i just like the colour green.
Hobby; Rowing. I love rowing its a great sport for people who have bad knees (me) and people who are terrible at running (also me). Yes, the young royals rowing scenes hurt me deep in my soul, yes i loved seeing rowing on my laptop screen and yelled about it for an hour w my best friend who also rows. Its just a great sport. Its outside, its together, it gets me to be active. Great on all aspects and I miss it every day now that i cant do it.
anyways tahts all Im sad my pictures dont form as nice of a collage as ive seen some other people (although i will admit that maybe i chose the particular song and book because the covers have kind of a dark-ish colour that i felt fit the other pictures a little more lmfao) thank you for reading if you ever got this far.

Northumberland Coast November Road Trip
Tumblr media
England in November is a season of shorter days and falling temperatures. We expected the weather for our Northumberland coastal road trip to be mixed, and that’s exactly what we got. At times, the conditions were challenging due to considerable periods of drenching rain and temperatures that barely reached double figures.
A road trip along Northumberland's beautiful coast, at any time of year, from Amble in the south to Berwick-upon-Tweed on the northern borders of Scotland, displays some of Britain's finest beaches and spectacular views. An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), this stretch of England’s most northern county is home to expansive stretches of stunning shoreline, wind-swept sand dunes, historic ruins, and charming fishing communities.
The November sun rises just before 8 am and sets about 4 pm, so I didn't have to worry about setting my alarm too early. Since there are less visitors in the area at this time of year, the coastal scenery can be explored without the crowds, having miles of beautiful Northumberland beaches virtually all to ourselves. We found some businesses and attractions understandingly closed or operating less frequently for the winter season. Finding tables at restaurants was easy whereas in the summer months booking ahead would be a necessity.
Our journey spanned five days, which gave us plenty of opportunities to leisurely explore the different places we visited, sometimes even retuning the next day, and time to shelter from the harshest weather conditions. The trip could easily be completed in half the time, especially within the longer days of summer.

Amble
Tumblr media
We begin our tour in Amble, known as "The Friendliest Port". A quaint harbour town at the mouth of the River Coquet that can be considered as the southern gateway to the Northumberland Coast. Harbourside seafood restaurants, brightly coloured beach huts, independent retail pods, and a sizable pier can be found in this increasingly popular town.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Amble still functions as a working port and has a small fishing fleet. A 250 berth Marina, situated on the banks of the River Coquet, offers a range of boat yard services. Boat trips operate in the spring-time to view wildlife, notably puffins and roseate terns, on Coquet Island. Sitting a mile off the coast and crammed with birdlife for half the year, the island is a Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) managed nature reserve. Boat landings are not permitted and only RSPB wardens are allowed onto the island.

Amble gained the nickname 'the friendliest port' when on 3rd July 1935, the local Council sent the RMS Mauretania a telegram on it's last voyage to the the wreckers yard in Rosyth. 'Still the finest ship on the seas'. To which Mauretania replied with, "Thank you to the last and kindliest port."
Craster
Tumblr media
Moving approximately 15 miles north, we reach Craster, a remote coastal haven set amongst rugged rocks, dramatic coastline and beautiful countryside.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Craster has a small harbour shielded from the wind-whipped North Sea by the guarding embrace of two solid piers. These concrete harbour walls were being put to the test as we arrived. As enormous wave swells pummelled the sea defences with amazing force, we were reminded that no matter how picturesque this coastline may be, the sea can nevertheless be brutal and unforgiving,
Tumblr media
As soon as we stepped foot in the village, we were aware of the enticing smell from the L. Robson & Sons fish smokeries. Craster has a reputation for some of the most delicious oak-smoked kippers in the country. Fish is still being cured in the ancient smokehouses, which date back more than 130 years, by this fourth-generation family business.
Tumblr media
Craster more than makes up for its lack of beaches with a breathtaking, volcanically formed, rocky shoreline. A relatively easy, one mile walk along the headland provides breathtaking sea views as you approach the imposing ruin of Dunstanburgh Castle. One of the most atmospheric and inspiring castles in England, Dunstanburgh Castle was built in the 14th century.
Tumblr media
With over 700 sites—more than any other county in England, you will see plenty of castles on your journey up the Northumberland coastal route. This is due to the rather violent past with neighbouring Scotland to the north.
Seahouses
Tumblr media
Further up the coast, the bustling market town of Seahouses offers everything you may want for a conventional coastal getaway. A variety of shops, restaurants, pubs, ice cream shops, and fish & chip eateries can be found in addition to fantastic sea views.
Tumblr media
I have a fondness for Seahouses that stretches back over a decade or more. Known to many as ‘The entryway to the Farne Islands’ which are located two to three miles offshore. I’ve made the crossing over to the islands many times to photograph nesting sea birds. As well as being the most famous Sea Bird Sanctuary in the British Isles, the islands are also home to a large colony of Grey Seals. Birds that frequent these islands for nesting include Puffins and several breeds of Terns. Boats depart daily from the busy, colourful harbour.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There are beautiful beaches to the north and south of Seahouses, with the northernmost one being the most popular. Bamburgh Castle provides a magnificent backdrop to this expansive sandy beach which is bordered by grassy sand dunes.

Avian Flu
The worst bird flu outbreak to ever affect the UK has occurred during 2022, and experts have cautioned that the infection rate could increase even further throughout the winter of 2022-2023. The outbreak has had a huge negative impact on agriculture and the environment, killing 97 million birds worldwide (3.8 million in the UK). In response, the Farne Islands have been closed to visitors over the breeding season, as officials attempted to stem the spread of the infections. There is still a worrying battle ahead to rid our shores of this rampant killer disease.
Bamburgh
Tumblr media
Bamburgh is the next-door neighbour to the community of Seahouses. A picture-postcard village, with English tea rooms, stone cottages, gift shops, eateries and B&Bs. The magnificent, 1,400-year-old Bamburgh Castle is seen before you even get to Bamburgh, majestically rising from the dunes system that fringes the beach, it literally is the stuff of legends.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The castle commands sweeping views of a 2.5-kilometer long, immaculate sandy beach with the Farne Islands, Holy Island, and Lindisfarne seen in the distance. Due to its lofty position, Bamburgh Castle is a beautiful subject for photos when shot from the beach.
Holy Island
Tumblr media
Any visit to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne begins and ends with the vagaries of the tide. The island is cut off from the mainland twice a day during high tide when the causeway that connects the mainland to the island is submerged.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Crossing Holy Island’s causeway is a great experience, beautiful and sometimes eerie. The Road is approx 3 miles long and takes about 10 minutes to drive. Close to the start of the causeway is the famous refuge shelter for anyone unlucky enough that gets caught out by the tide. If you are unfamiliar with the causeway and the workings of the tides, it is best to educate yourself first, so long as you plan your visit for the right times, there is really nothing difficult to the crossing. I double-checked the crossing times before planning our trip.
Tumblr media
Holy Island is steeped in history with spectacular coastal scenery. Whether you're interested in history, religion, walking, birdwatching, nature, or beaches, or like me in photography - Holy Island boasts a variety of attractions and activities. I think that it’s safe to say that most visitors are attracted by the extensive ruins of a 12th-century priory church and the associated monastic buildings. The equally famous Lindisfarne Castle is the other main visitor attraction.
Tumblr media
Local boats moor iIn Holy Island Harbour, known as The Ouse. The legendary upside-down boats on a muddy area next to the beach are old herring boats that have been converted into fishermen's sheds.
Tumblr media
Lindisfarne Castle dates back to the middle of the sixteenth century and was first used as a garrison. The castle, which is positioned atop the volcanic rock formation known as Beblowe Craig and is one of the Island's most recognisable and appealing sights, can be seen for miles in all directions. The castle we see today was constructed by renowned architect Edwin Lutyens beginning in 1903 and is an amazing blend of a Tudor artillery fort and an Edwardian country home.

Reconnecting with some of our favourite places along the Northumberland Coast has been a wonderful experience. Who wouldn't be captivated by this special place? It's every bit the wild coast you'd want for photography inspiration.

3, 4, and 8 for kelth and 3, 13, and 15 for kali!
Ooooo many!! i will put this under a readmore because knowing myself this will be long. Thank you for the ask!
Kelth, 3: What is this character's favourite colour? Hajhdbg i haven't thought about this from Kelth's own POV. i personally love blues. you may notice this in screenshots i throw on here sometimes. and as a result kelth's whole ingame world is also very blue. so i'm just gonna say that my preferences are kelth's too, and they also like blue a whole lot
Kelth, 4: Does this character have any pets? the simple answer is yes but i haven't thought about which ones & why yet so i will take this opportunity to make that shit up properly. me personally i just have a kennelful of kubrows & a charger, so I'm gonna go ahead & say that on the Zariman, kelth had one dog who followed them around everywhere & they were really good friends, and that's why they have a bunch now again. the one kelth had on the zariman was of course rather. distinct. from the strains available to them now: the current-day strains they are able to get from the incubator are still obviously influenced by their direct wild/feral ancestry, whereas the orokin dog was probably more like a labrador/lap dog/comfort beast, with genetically-modified-dull claws and such. not that they don't appreciate the combat ability of their current companions - they're very good as guards, and helping them find resources, and they never complain - but sometimes they do miss their old buddy.
Kelth, 8: Do they have any hobbies? Yes!! But there's a History. at first there was just so much shit to do they didn't really let themself have a true non-combat-related hobby. they let themselves have void relics: the puzzles, getting random stuff & then trying to sell it to still make a profit, the hard work that went into it, was very fun. but it definitely did not help take their mind off of... well, everything. eventually, they realized that no matter how hard they mop, the state of the origin system is very much a stuck-open faucet, so they picked up recreational programming again. solving logic puzzles, making up little games to share with others, and such. if they're really not feeling like doing anything (mentally) intense, reading and listening to music are their go-tos. do notice how none of these hobbies require other people.
Kali, 3: What is this character's favourite colour? You're making a Chroma choose a favourite colour? :D god. i haven't even gotten another chroma (prime) yet in game so i haven't yet been able to fashion wars but given kali's slowly forming personality in my head i'm literally just gonna say the whole rainbow. it likes different colours more on different days. often together with other colours. theres nothing so fun as mixing and matching colours. bright and shiny and showing-off.
Kali, 13: Why/under which circumstances did they get turned into a Warframe? See this is why I love ask games. I am being forced by peer pressure to develop these guys. OKAY. Kali got caught doing something she shouldn't have been. That something might have been planting explosives in the vicinity of an Orokin outpost. Because it didn't care about what the Orokin thought of it, it admitted everything immediately, spouting insults and jokes at their expense all the way to the experimental facilities. It's a good thing that the Helminth mostly capitalises on what's already present to make a warframe - Kali had always known how to make the best of a situation, and after the changes were made, it didn't take her long to escape at all. They never found it again.
Kali, 15: Do they have anything that still ties them back to their days as human? All of her weapons and other gear had been confiscated when she'd been caught, and once she'd gotten out of the facility, she never looked back, so nothing physical. However, even though the Helminth completed the physical transformation, the scientists never had the chance to break its mind. It is still as shrewd, boisterous, cunning, and vindictive as it was back when it was still human, just now as much on the outside as on the inside. Other than that, nothing. It tries not to think about it.
