Plot: you're the Chief of Financials at Waystar Royco and also Logan's Goddaughter, tasked to go with Greg to the Philippines to check up on the xerox business, not knowing some budding feelings will grow along the way.

"So you're half Filipino? All this time?" Greg asked, trailing you from behind. Pushing your heavy baggage cart as you walk with hands free, clutching your phone with your right hand.

"I am 1/4th Filipino, Greg. My grandma, Nerie is the Filipino. Lucky wife to my Grandpa, Victor whose a European." You explained, steps hasty as you walk towards the exit of the NAIA airport.

Greg tried to catch up with you as best as he can with his long legs, pushing the heavy cart with force to walk side by side with you.

You were sent here by Logan to check the Xerox copy machine side business and to evaluate the profit and if it's still considered to be operational by income standards. Waystar is apparently looking to cut their losses even if it means a thousand people would lose their job just to pay off Peirce.

"That's interesting. So you speak the language? B-because you know, what if we got lost and none of us speak the language? Google Translate isn't exactly eh- exact?" He pushes his hair back, adjusting the sleeve of his suit, "Is it normally this hot here?"

Quickly purchasing the book and throwing it at him which he catches clumsily mid-air.

Exiting the Uber and going straight to the hotel lobby whilst Greg was left alone to unload your bags from the trunk. A couple minutes of waiting for him, he finally emerges besides you, tapping your shoulder lightly.

"Oh, took you long enough. Show them the reservation." You spoke, returning your attention to your phone.

Greg stood there confuse, pushing his hair back and wiping his sweat from his forehead, "What reservation? I thought Roman sent it to you?"

"I thought he sent it you?!" You whispered to him, "well, call Kendall and have him sort this out."

"Is there a problem?" The receptionist finally arrived in front of you.

You quickly turned to her and smiled, "no. No. We're all good. He's just sorting out the reservation paper. Such a klutz, this one."

"Well, Ma'am if you just have a name for the reservation and an I.D I can verify it even without the papers." She assured you.

Rummaging through your bag as Greg tried calling Kendall behind you. Taking out your Waystar employee I.D and showing it to her.

"Can you try, (Y/N) Abberdon? I think my collegue might've put it under my name."

The receptionist typed for a bit and shook her head, "we don't have that name in the system Ma'am. Is there any name? Maybe under the name of your collegue?" She gestured to Greg.

Grabbing the man by the I.D which dangled from one of those laces with the retractable strings. "What- hey!" Greg exclaimed, hand still on the ringing phone.

"Try Gregory Hirsch?" You desperately looked at her. The woman did the same thing only to looked up at you once again and shook her head.

Mentally punching Roman in your head at this point, "Ok well, we don't have his I.D but, Roman Roy?"

"I see a Roman Roiland but no Roman Roy, miss. I am sorry."

"Oh my god," You backed away from the reception desk, "I am sorry- just give me a minute" Excusing yourself. The woman nodded her head and returns to her work.

You grabbed Greg by the arm and dragged him away from the desk, looking up at him for an answer.

"They won't call back. I tried Kendall, Shiv, and Roman." He panicked, "I could try Tom?"

"Then try Tom." You deadpanned, "I am going to call Roman. But keep calling whoever is in that flip phone of yours Greg or I will throw that ancient thing in the trash."

"No need to be stres-"

"Don't tell me what to do." You suddenly flipped out at him, making him flinch, "I am- I am sorry. I am just stressed, you're right. This is not big deal. If we can't reach out to any of them we'll just have to book it ourselves."

Greg nods, "yeah. Ok. I'll keep trying to call Tom."

A couple more minutes of you guys looking like anxious rats on your phone trying to contact everyone. Greg finally got a hold of Tom over the phone.

"Tom! Oh thank God. Listen I am- we- yes me and (Y/N)- we're stuck in the Philippines- yeah- can you just- Is Roman with you?- oh- right- uhuh- well, here." Greg hands the phone to you.

You took it out of his hand, "Jesus I forgot how these things work," Fiddling with the flip phone for a bit, "Hello? Tom? What the fuck is going on? Where the fuck is everyone?"

"Enjoying your vacation with my assistant? That you stole by the way. How dare you?!"

"We're not on vacation, dipshit. What's happening over there? We can't get a hold of everyone and we're stuck in another country with no hotel reservation."

"Oh yeah, well. There's been an emergency and Shiv just told me you guys might be stuck in there for another week or two because they're using the private jet to go to the bahamas."

"What the fuck?!" You exclaimed, quickly returning back to your normal tone, "well can you atleast have Roman call me b-"

The phone suddenly crackles and Roman's voice was heard though the phone, "hey god-sis. Yeah listen, I did an oopsie and I kinda forgot to put in a reservation..."

"What's happening...?" Greg tried to ask but your head was running a million miles per minute.

One thing you hated was when plans didn't go as planned and mostly being stucked in another country where you barely speak the language and your American Express might not work.

You raised your hand out of frustration, an attempt to throw Greg's phone onto the ground. But he was quick to catch your arm with his tall physique, snatching his phone out of your hand.

"He-hey. Ok. How about you sit and calm down. Ok?" He tries to comfort you, "I'll handle this. I know you're stressed out so just relax. Ok?"

You nodded, sitting by the nearby sofa of the hotel lobby. Frantically typing into your phone whilst running a hand onto your hair out of frustration.

"Yeah- ok- I can manage that. Ok. Thanks- bye" Greg ends the call and sat on the couch parallel to yours, "ok so, we'll book a hotel and have it on the company card. Shiv said we could do whatever we want for the next two weeks as an apology for your distress and inconvenience. So...there you go. Don't stress ok? Cause youre kinda freaking me out too."

Slowly nodding as you bit your lip, preventing yourself from laughing at the distressed Greg as he sighed and lean back onto the white sofa, putting his earphone on to calm himself down. You sneakily took a picture of him and posted it on Instagram.

"Well I'll just see if they have a spare room available." You pull a tight smile , touching his shoulder as you move past him. Greg gives a nod in response.

"Hey," You greeted the receptionist again, "looks like my collegue might've missed it in his brain to book a reservation, is there a room available for two weeks? Two room separately...preferrably for me and him" Pointing at Greg behind you.

The receptionist tuts as she tapped at her keyboard for a bit, looking appologetic up at you, "sorry, looks like we're all fully booked at the moment. That's normal for valentines Day- oh wait- we have an opening for a honeymoon suite... I am afraid that's the only room available."

"Oh..." You scrunched your face. Scratching the back of your head in frustration, "is there like...another hotel?"

"Well you can try the love hotel from across the street but at valentines week I am afraid all of the hotel right now are fully booked too, miss."

Glancing at your watch, it reads 6:37 pm. And the jet lag was getting to your system. Not really wanting to go out there and dragging Greg around the block you were forced to weigh your options.

"Does it have a couch atleast?"

"Yes ma'am. But I am afraid it only has one bathroom."

"That's fine." You sighed, taking out your business card, "just do it. We're way too tired."

The woman apologized again as she took your card before handing you two keycards for the room. Telling you that your bags will be delivered in your room shortly.

Dragging your feet back to where Greg was, you handed him the other key card by shoving it in his face. Greg took it and read;

"Honeymoon suite?" He asked, looking up at you with wide eyes

"Yeah, not alot of options at valentines day, buddy." You scoffed at him, "you're welcome to run around the block for a new hotel room. They're all fully booked apparently. and I am too tired to argue for separate room. So either suck it up or get out."

Greg grunts in annoyance, standing up and following you anyways.

"Uhuh, and if I get sick because of it, you'd have to be Tom's assistant for as long as it takes."

• Micheal gave Travis a box of crystals cuz he had a obsession with crystals (still do) and Travis was shocked by the amount of emeralds there was in that box there was around 50 something emeralds if counting the broken shards, if counting the whole emeralds there would be like 35 which is still a lot

• Terry once threatened Micheal to turn his physical form into a relic due to a factor that Michael was trying to erase an important memory and Terry wasn't having it that day

• Travis would endlessly rant about crystals to Vylad which had started to make Vylad actually interested in crystals and start looking into them and then got obsessed over it with Travis

• Dante as a teen was a hoarder, he grew out of it eventually

• Gene, despite being a horrible person in general in high school, he tried his best to be a better person around Dante trying not to influence him cuz he is far much more aware the fact that Dante can be influenced by him and he does not need Dante to be on his level of trouble

• Gene is far nicer to Travis than other one of Dante's friend, most likely due to the fact there was already this out of nowhere trust bond that existed when Dante first introduced Travis to Gene

•Zane had braces throughout freshman year and no one noticed cuz he had a mask on, then he got retainers mid season 3

• Garroth and Aphmau is undiagnosed ADHD even though Travis has multiple time told them to get diagnosed due to the fact of the symptoms they had visibly and every time they always have this conversation;

• Vylad is dyslexic and Travis would spend hours after school in the library with him teaching him stuff, even if that means getting home late which Michael usually don't mind cuz he's never home until midnight Vylad got his permission card to stay late from his mom

• Vylad is the reason Zane is into my little horsey, Vylad actually introduced Zane to so many cartoons that now they can binge watch any kind of cartoons that Vylad puts on the platter

palatawan: the old money families

one of the things that i think makes palatawan really work as a tagalog translation of the world of hatchetfield is the class divide. if i could drive you through manila right now, you'd get it — the high-rises next to the slums, the sheets of metal covering the shanties next to the highway. there's something very filipino about an island with resorts and mansions on one side and a trailer park on the other.

i think the old money of palatawan are the panginoong maylupa, the landlords who bought up the land and built the mansions. so let's start with the people who made hatchetfield their own little satanic paradise:

the waylon family

Agatha and Mathias Flavio - so waylon is from the old english name weland, which probably means "cunning". it's the name of a legendary smith. someone who makes metal implements is a very cool namesake for the family who built hatchetfield. so i went for the name of our own legendary smith, ang panday (which is just The Smith in tagalog). he's a comics character. but it felt too on the nose to just use panday (after all, they're not the smiths, that would be too plain) so i went for his first name.

the perkins/houston family

Ma. Emmanuella de los Reyes Perez - it's emma! yeah, i think she comes from old money — her parents had land that she turned into perky's buds, and she had the freedom and resources to go backpacking as a young woman. we don't see it much from her because emma's trying to distance herself from her family, and i bet the backpacking has sort of roughed her up a good bit. perkins and perez both derive from the name peter.

Ma. Janella Perez Corazon - áte (big sister) janella. i changed her name because jane in a filipino accent sounds too much like jenny, and they could be confused with each other. going into psychology is a really interesting choice for her, because we don't actually have psychiatric workers for our population right now. so i think it speaks to how perfect and pure of heart she seems.

Tomas Corazon - the hugh in "hugh's town" (houston) means heart, and so does corazon. i think it works for a guy with such big feelings, who cares so much about his family.

Timothy Corazon / Tim - this is a personal thing that you may have noticed if you look at how i name my own characters, but i like it when characters have full names that they can derive nicknames from. he can't just be tim on his birth certificate, that's not a whole name. give your babies (characters) whole names.

the murray/monroe family

Rosalinda Iñiga Camella Villar Rivera - you bet i gave linda a long fancy name. camella villar is a reference to an actual filipino land-owning political family, and iñiga is a reference to one of my exes. hey, i can be petty too.

Gerald Rivera - so fancy and yet so generic. he stays in the background and that's exactly where he should be

Rio, Abra, Pasig, and Chico Rivera - all of linda’s children are named after rivers. is it because the monroe also means (the mouth of a) river? i’m not sure why, but i am keeping the pattern.

Roman Milagroso Villar - he just felt like he needed a second name. why not miraculous? it fits his ego. murray comes from an old irish name that means "master", so i picked a surname derived from the latin word for a village. they own the village (the hatchetfield boating society and the honey queen pageant board)

the young family

Sherman and Sheila Cabataan - this one's easy because the name is obviously a nod to their eternal youth. so it's kabataan, "youth" but spelled with a c to make it look vintage. (when the philippines was colonised by spain, the /k/ sound was spelled with a c like it is in spanish.)

this could be interpreted as either someone saying this to the sinungaling (liar) or them saying it to themselves in the mirror, could also be translated as "you are a liar" like someone's made a revelation

okay admittedly this is a rocky translation, my interpretation at best. this could say "and you're still speaking" or "and [why] are you still speaking" i embellished it a little bit for vibes

5. NAGAWA MO PA MANDAMAY NG IBA — you framed another still

okay this is. okay so mandamay is a really hard word to translate, since it means "to bring others down with you" it's kinda like to associate someone with you but it's not implied it's like. that's what happened and it was bad. added the chimera pack bc !!!!!! starts crying

6. SINUNGALING — liar

direct translation! :D

7. MAPAGLIHIM — secret-keeper

here's another hard one, since it kinda means "secretive," but like. not really but also yes if that makes sense. secretive is a direct translation, but in a roundabout manner. changed the wording a bit to fit the context again :)

8. MAY DALAWANG MUKHA — the one with two faces

this phrase is actually directly translated as "had two faces", since a lot of tagalog sentences can be created without the use of a possessive or a narrator, which makes it pretty tricky language to translate. again, just me making it fit the context !

9. SINUNGALING NA NGA — he's a liar

direct: "[you/he/she/they are/is] a liar", fitting the context !

10. NANIWALA KA PA DIYAN? — you still believed him?

direct translation! (with the added him pronoun, since again this is another sentence without a specification as to who the narrator is talking to and about)

A.P. (Archer-Paul) Hearst. He’s a divorced father of one (1) very raccoon coded daughter who was definitely not all influenced by a certain British youtuber with the name of Tommy. He’s an armsdealer who regularly works with the Tarasovs in particular and other New York based groups! He’s also….. aroace!! Yep. Made him aroace for fun. I often include symbolism of the ocean and lighthouses for him because it represents the fact he finds solace in quiet places and because he comes from a quite unknown and chaotic background just like the sea!

Eleanor “Ellie” Sallow. I made her with the question in my mind: does the High Table have a Human Resources department? I’m sure they do since they have a lot of employees working for them in an office like structure and I’m pretty sure Human Resources would honestly benefit the High Table even for a criminal organization. Anyways, she’s the HR Director and very British. She comes from central London but she was born in Chester! She just moved to London for business!

Kristina Maria Ampuan. She’s honestly my favorite because I wrote her based on the older women around me. She’s Filipino, specially from Cebu. She can speak four languages really well which is English, Tagalog, Cebuano, and Spanish. She’s the oldest out of my characters with her being placed at 44 years old! She has a troubled backstory but now she’s the manager of the Manila Continental. (Account here -> @the-manila-continental)

Jairo Siday Lacanlale. I based his name off of one of my teachers lmao. Anyways. He’s the youngest on the other hand. Roughly 27 years old and his face claim is Filipino heartthrob Paulo Avelino. Anyways, Jairo is the concierge of the Manila Continental and unlike Kristina, I wrote him off the people my age. He’s very respectful but you know, still the average young Filipino person. Which means he still probably jokes about horrible shit at the wrong time😭

as i said, my name’s eva and i’m a 22-year-old college student from spain :) i’m majoring in translation and interpreting so i study languages both as my degree/career and my hobby! i’ve started and stopped learning a lot of languages just for fun but i’m gonna stick with these five for a while!! that doesn’t mean i won’t put on pause/retake some of these languages depending on my situation, it just means i won’t take up new languages in the near future 🫡

note before starting: both my life and my career goals have been changing drastically lately, which means my language journey is about to change a lot too. however as i have yet to figure it out, i’m just gonna talk about how i’ve been studying languages for the last few months and update when i finally figure out my new language plan :)

unnecessary zone fsct of the day; mt parents tried to teach my filipino and english at the same time and when i was sent to school i was getting confused trying to differentiate the two languages so they had to stop and im still SO sad that they did cuz wtf id love to learn it

but anyways this is my dream forever and ever. theres a character that flore n i have created whos filipino and we always talk about her talking to wilbur in filipino. just the confused lil look on his face as hes trying (failing) to pull up google translate, or even him trying to learn a little bit just to communicate with her and her family!!

there was even an idea in which he said his wedding vows to her in filipino so that her family could understand and his accent was so bad and he butchered a ton of words, but it was the sweetest thing ever to her.

Gerry Taylor, an engineer at Mega-Dyne Advanced Research and Development, always brought his work home with him, and his live-in girlfriend knew to leave it alone because he was one of the people who did Alpha testing. Sometimes, there was no telling what shocks, burns, or whatever the things he tested might still have in them. Unstable much? Very!”

“But damn!” thought Mary Becky O'Casey on seeing the latest thing he had brought in to work on.

A smartphone like nothing she had ever seen before. One that was supposed to be connected to a prototype quantum computer that no one at Mega-Dyne was sure what all it would eventually be capable of.

Whatever the case, the damn thing did floating hologram charts!

And there it sat on a coffee table in their living room as Gerry had to dash out and handle some complex, no doubt all-night problem involving another thing back at Mega-Dyne HQ. And there it sat glowing.

“What could it hurt?” Thought Becky, "But do what with it?"

Scrolling through the screen, most of which was beyond her, but one item made her pause.

“Maximum Complete 100% Translation,” it read, but activating it didn’t pop up a keyboard. Instead, it seemed to activate a camera screen, but even then, it still would do nothing.

Then Becky remembered that a new restaurant had just opened nearby called Fresh Pinoy Cuisine, which served dishes from the Philippines.

Becky had seen one of their menus and could not make head nor tails out of all the exotic-sounding names on it. Inasal na manok? Pinoy Bihon? Pancit Tortang talong? What could they all mean?” she wondered. “I’ll go there for dinner and try the translation thing.” She decided.

As soon as she was seated in a quiet little corner, she pulled out Mega-Dyne’s no doubt still buggy, experimental Super Quantum computer-linked phone, keyed up the Maximum Complete 100% Translation, pointed it at the menu, the screen then said, "COPY COMPLETE. RECORD MORE?" Shrugging, Becky let the camera take in the Philippines-themed restaurant until it gave a ping and read, “READY TO ACTIVATE POINT CAMERA AT SELF.”

“Wha..? thought Becky but went along.

The phone produced a dazzling bright light straight into her eyes as a deep shock went through her.

When she recovered, Becky expected to find the translation of the menu on the phone screen; instead, she saw that it had turned itself off.

Then she glanced down at the menu and knew that Inasal na manok, Bihon Pancit, and Tortang talong meant Domesticated chicken stew, Filipino Rice Noodles Chicken and Veggies, and Eggplant cakes.

“How do I know this now?” wondered Becky aloud to herself, but it came out as "Paano ko malalaman yun?"

“I can read and speak Filipino!” thought Becky. Then, another thought came to her. After all, she had felt the vibe that came from the flash run through her whole body. Taking a compact out of her purse, she looked, and yes, indeed, the face that looked back at her was not the one she had come into the restaurant with.

“Babaeng Pilipina ako” (I’m a Filipina girl!”) thought Becky, the words in her head already starting to change from English to Tagalog.

Then Becky saw the waitress coming and calmed herself.

“Ready for some food from back home?” she asked in English, “Yes, I am,” said Becky, also in English, but now with a very noticeable Filipino accent.

“Recent arrival?” asked the waitress, who, compared to Becky, had no accent at all or at least sounded as Virginia regional as Becky had before the quantum flash. Would you like me to switch to Filipino?” asked the waitress. “Yes, it’s like I just got here today, but I need practice, so English, please,” said Becky.

And then, with her heart beating like mad, she ordered her first Pinoy meal. By the end of it, she had calmed down and was ready to leave.

That was when a thought came to Becky, who by that time had decided that she would after tonight start calling, and more importantly, thinking of herself not as Mary Becky O'Casey, but as Maria Blessica Ocampo “Oh Grabe!” (Oh wow!”) thought Blessica “My boyfriend is now one of those guys with a Filipina girlfriend! I used to make fun of people like me. Napaka ironic!”

Sprigg does not consider themselves a nerd, despite fitting under literally everything that makes one a nerd. They were also probably bullied in high school. Poor nerd intellectual being.

Toorie is not only the tallest in her friend group, but also the second-strongest. She can carry Mondo over her shoulder like a fucking potato sack.

Mondo is… actually fairly strong for Mammott standards. They’re able to lift things like couches and all of his laundry, but he isn’t really that strong compared to their sister.

Mauna is not only fluent in translating cryptic Monster World messages, but can speak many Human World languages as well! That means she doesn’t fall for any “keys cow in Tagalog” jokes. (I won’t fall for those either.)

Flitz is terrible at keeping secrets. Expect that to play a part in whenever Mondo and Toorie become a thing.

Jeeo has been mistaken for a Jeeode multiple times in the past. You can’t blame his parents for naming him “Awdajeeo,” which is supposed to sound like the musical term “adagio.”

Sprigg, as I’ve probably said a few posts ago, is aroace. They DO secretly read romance novels when nobody else is around, though. honestly same, I brainrot over ships and make shit up about them while being an aroace myself-

Toorie is not only bi, but also trans! Her friends and family have been very supportive of it ever since she came out.

Mondo is also bi and trans! Many of his friends don’t really know that, though, because he Became Boy before they met Toorie and Sprigg.

Mauna is a lesbian, as evident by her relationship with Moperetta! Everyone she knows is super supportive of this.

Jeeo is gay! He hasn’t had any relationships in his entire life, though. damn nobody want him fr 😭😭😭

Flitz is pan! She’s had crushes on MANY Monsters before, but has eventually gotten over them. She might get another one sooner or later though hehe!!

Sprigg probably had a My Little Pony phase. I have no idea what the TSotMW equivalent to My Little Pony would be, though-

Mauna is allergic to tree sap. Good thing that amber is made of tree resin, which is actually different from sap!

Flitz can hit notes higher than Ariana Grande or Mariah Carey. She once accidentally broke every single piece of glass on Air Island while singing what Monsters call the “Human World Yay Song.” You probably know what they’re talking about… iiiiiii don’t want a lOt-

Jeeo isn’t scared of any bug or arachnid; he sees all of them as friends! He’d get fatally stung by a fucking scorpion and go “ah, friends have their arguments!” and then heal in like 5 seconds. He’s literally Scaratar and Loodvigg’s son, of course he’s slightly overpowered.

Sprigg is a MASTER roaster, actually. If there’s a Monster that they aren’t really fond of… well, fuck. Prepare to get microwaved for about 6,000,000,000 minutes, if that’s even possible-

Mondo can snowboard very well! He’s also decent at skateboarding, but doesn’t get to do it much since Cold Island’s paths are slippery and someone could get hurt while skateboarding on one.

Mauna and Toorie are the only ones who know how—and are allowed to—to cook. Sprigg would spend too long measuring all the ingredients, Mondo is banned from the kitchen, Flitz is terrified of the stove, and Jeeo would probably poison some of the ingredients by accident.

Will Minako tell the boys about the culture and language of the Philippines? Anyone dare to insult Filipino culture?

Not going to answer the second question because I find it uncomfortable to answer.

But yes, Minako does like involving Japanese and Pinoy traditions and into her lifestyle. She often expresses her heritage in food or holidays. Filipino culture is such a phenomenon to me because although we’re Asian, the Spanish influences on our country are quite heavy.

When it comes to languages, Minako is more fluent in Tagalog than Japanese. She also swears a lot in Tagalog, a habit that she got from her mother who was a bit of a sailor mouth.

We have this tradition called “Kamayan,” which means to eat with our hands. That might appeal to some of the boys at the prospect of not having to wash a lot of dishes since there is no cutlery involved and the food is plated on banana leaves that you can just throw away. Some don’t like it because they prefer having their hands clean while eating.

To celebrate Christmas (or in Twisted Wonderland’s case, Winter Holiday), people would find Minako making traditional Filipino Christmas star decorations that we call parol. Malleus even helped put lights in the stars. The glowing stars hanging on the windows makes the dorm look enchanting at night.

Filipinos also tend to celebrate Christmas for months, and I mean MONTHS!!! We start celebrating from September, and we’re usually not done until February. Minako doesn’t really do that though. She loves Christmas, but she and her family are among the people who are annoyed that Christmas music is already playing on the radio as soon as November hits.

Parties! For someone who leans more into introversion, Minako’s great at throwing parties or just hosting in general. She caters the best food and the pabitin game (rack of goodies, our own kind of pinata) is always fun on her birthday.

Filipino dramas may not have the same level of insanity as Spanish or Indian soap operas, but they have their moments. We even have our own Pinoy version of the famous Spanish telenovela, María la del Barrio. You know, the soap opera that gave us this iconic scene.

Vil gets introduced into ABS-CBN soap operas. He’s caught in between hating how cheesy and over-the-top the performance of the actors are but also secretly liking it. He catches on pretty quickly that the moment a character speaks English during an argument, it’s SERIOUS. Meanwhile, Lilia is eating up his popcorn when a physical fight breaks out between the bida (the heroine) and the contrabida (the villainess). He lives for the screaming, hair-pulling, and slapping after someone’s been cheating on his wife. Anyone getting pushed down the stairs has him at the edge of the seat no matter how many times he’s seen that cliché.

Augh, the cgi of the fantasy soap operas makes Idia cringe. It’s so low-quality. Too bad though because Minako decided to show him one of the many adaptations of Mars Ravelo’s Dyesebel.

This one Pinoy show, Kara Mia, while I’ve never watched it myself, seeing the preview terrified me to an uncomfortable degree because of the two faces sharing a single body. They try to paint it as a cute friendship between the two faces, but everyone who has laid witness to the show were green at the gills.

Autumn Symbolism OC Questions

For Nomin, expressing herself in actions is certainly easier than expressing herself in words. When she expresses herself in words, it's because she has a lot of questions, I've come to realize as I write her more in my pre-ARR stuff. She likes to ask 'why' or questions of that general ilk in order to get a bigger picture as to what her interlocutor means, or get more information pertaining to the subject they've brought up (or that she wants to pursue). She likes knowing things, but not necessarily having a personal conversation.

When it comes to personal conversations, she struggles for sure. There are mental blocks created from her past that prevents her from being open about herself. This does seem to change depending on who Nomin is interacting with -- for example, she tends to be a little more open about herself when she speaks with Alphinaud or Alisaie. People who are younger than her that she doesn't want to ever see put into a similar position that she had to endure. This made particular moments in Endwalker very upsetting and anger-inducing for her.

As for eloquence and practice in language... I don't write it in my fics because it just feels cumbersome and bloated (which I'm doing my best to cut back on being; I feel I write too much unnecessary information sometimes), though I like to imagine that a lot of Xaela tribes teach the common tongue alongside their ancestral language of Old Auri. Similar to how, in the Philippines, English is taught alongside their native language (my mother's side of the family is Bicolano; when I visited my family in the Philippines, I learned that my cousins are taught Tagalog and Bicol as they grow up, and they are also taught English at home and at school. As far as I know, it's mandatory!). That said, Nomin is very fluent in Old Auri, and she has a very good grasp on the common tongue! However, there are fics, like this one, where I go into the fact that she does get introduced to new words (to her), but is eager to learn and get a grasp on them so that she can use those words correctly!
