"You gotta wake up!" you crossed your arms while Bachira whined, "Hey that's not nice to disturb someone's beauty sleep!" He pouted and you cant help but to let out a small chuckle.

"Then stop sleeping" you stuck your tongue out at him and looked away. You hear him chuckling before suddenly he jumped on to you.

Ever since you got pregnant, Clark has been fussing about every little thing. Making your own food, nah, Clark can do that. Reaching something, nope. Not allowed, in this household. “Do you need a foot rub, love?” “Sit right down.” Its Every. Single. Day.

One night, about a month before your due date, Clark was catering your every need. And then some. He was practically running around the house, doing things that he thought you wanted. You were lounging on the bed, until you had enough and stood up. Clark saw and ran to your side holding you up. “What do you need? I can get it done for you, no problem.” He said, panicky and fidgety.

“Clark, all I need is you right now.” You replied. A soft sigh escaped the Kryptonian’s lips. You led him to the bed, laying on your side’s, facing each other.

“Clark Kent, you listen to me right now.” She tilted his head up, she needed to look at him when she said this. “You will be a great father. If you will be half the husband you are, as a father, you will be amazing. And even when you’re not, I am here. You will not raise this child alone, okay? We lean on each other, always. I will be your support, and you will be mine.” Her words shook his heart. More than she normally does. “If we make mistakes, we learn and we grow. Together. Always, together.” And with that, he melted.

The air in Totto Land always smelled faintly of sugar, but today it was too sweet—so sweet it made your stomach twist.

You stood in the rose garden behind the Chateau, the very place where you and Katakuri used to sneak pastries as children, hiding behind the candy-cane columns and daring each other to steal more from the kitchen. Those days felt like dreams now—soft, distant, and a little too painful to look at directly.

And now, you were waiting for him.

You clenched your fists, heart pounding. He was late. Or maybe he was avoiding you.

No. He wouldn’t.

“(Y/N),” a deep voice rumbled behind you.

You turned.

Katakuri stood there, tall as ever, shadows cutting across his face from the low afternoon sun. His scarf was on, of course. He didn’t show his mouth anymore. Not to anyone.

You were numb as the vows were spoken. Your lips moved, but they weren’t your words. When the crowd cheered, it felt like your ears had gone underwater.

Your heart stayed behind in that garden.

That night, you sat alone on the balcony while the festivities carried on below. Cracker was off getting drunk with Opera and Snack, bragging about how ‘lucky’ he was to get someone like you. You felt sick.

Behind you, the door creaked open.

You didn’t turn. You knew the footsteps.

joão swore he almost had a heart attack the first time he saw them.

the tiny, angry red cuts littering your feet and ankles, some fading into soft pink scars, others fresh from your last competition. you had always told him ballet was tough, that it wasn’t just twirling around in pretty dresses, but nothing could have prepared him for this.

you were sitting on the couch, legs stretched over his lap, casually scrolling through your phone like nothing was wrong. meanwhile, he was staring at your feet like they had personally offended him.

‘what the hell is this?’ he blurted out, his fingers hovering over one particularly deep cut near your ankle.

you glanced at him, unfazed. ‘what’s what?’

‘this,’ he practically whined, gesturing wildly at your feet. ‘why do you look like you’ve been fighting for your life?’

you snorted. ‘joão, relax. they’re just cuts from my pointe shoes. they’ll heal.’

‘heal?’ he repeated, horrified. ‘how long have they been like this?’

his jaw dropped. ‘all the time?’

you sighed, putting your phone down. ‘it’s normal, babe. every ballerina deals with it. my feet just need time to recover between competitions.’

but he was already shaking his head, carefully lifting your foot to examine it closer.

‘you should’ve told me,’ he muttered, brows furrowed in concern.

‘what would you have done?’ you teased. ‘wrap me in bubble wrap?’

he didn’t answer, which told you exactly what you needed to know.

you laughed, cupping his cheek. ‘you’re ridiculous, you know that?’

‘you’re the ridiculous one,’ he shot back, still frowning at your feet. ‘how can you just ignore pain like this?’

‘because i have to. it comes with the sport.’

‘so what, you just suffer in silence?’

you hesitated for half a second, and that was all the answer he needed.

before you could stop him, he was already up, marching toward the bathroom.

you sighed, knowing exactly what was coming.

he returned moments later with a first-aid kit, a determined look on his face.

‘babe, really?’ you groaned.

‘yes, really. you clearly need someone to take care of you since you won’t do it yourself.’

you rolled your eyes but let him take your foot in his hands. he was surprisingly gentle, his fingers light as he dabbed at the cuts with antiseptic wipes.

he paused when you flinched, looking up at you with wide eyes.

‘does it hurt?’

‘not really.’

his glare told you he didn’t believe you, but he didn’t argue. instead, he carefully applied ointment to each cut, blowing softly on your skin like it would somehow make the sting go away.

you watched him work, your chest tightening.

‘you really don’t have to do this,’ you whispered.

he glanced up, his gaze softening. ‘i want to.’

you smiled, threading your fingers through his hair.

‘you’re a little dramatic, you know that?’

he snorted. ‘yeah? well, you’re a little reckless, so i guess we balance each other out.’

you laughed, letting him finish bandaging your feet.

when he was done, he pressed a kiss to each foot before meeting your gaze.

‘no more competitions for a while, right?’

‘not for a few weeks.’

‘good. because i’m making sure you actually rest this time.’

(first of all, for people who dont know, poliosis is a condition where there is a lack of melanin in head hair, eyebrows, eyelashes, or any other hirsute area.)

when you and bill first met he had no clue that your beautiful white and black hair was a condition

he thought it was some extremely goodhairdye considering how pigmented the white sections in your hair were.

and as we all know bill likes to have white streaks in his hair so he asked you one random day while you were in a hotel room together,

"what dye do you use on your hair?"

you kinda just deadpanned at first.😭

"what?" he would say

"bill, this isnt hair dye."

now he was the one deadpanning at you.

"i have poliosis." you would say gently

“ I think Malfoy may be working for the dark lord”. Harry allows his words to sink in, gauging your reaction closely, for a second he thinks you’re about to shut the idea down like everyone else. Your face betrays no emotion, but inside you were panicking. “How did you come to that conclusion Harry? Surely you couldn’t accuse him of such a thing because of his father-”. “No- no that’s not-” He removes his glasses, rubbing his hands over his face in frustration. Suddenly the space feels too small. Oh how you wish you could just tell him, tell him that he was correct, tell that you were deatheater too. But how would he react? Would he turn you in? Push you away? Would he understand?. It was too risky, Harry, your dear friend, it pains you everyday to know that you indirectly contribute to his suffering. “Harry I have something to tell you” you blurt out.

He slowly looks up, you have his undivided attention. “I- i think you might…you might”. Someone clears their throat, the sound startling both of you, you whip your head around to lock eyes with the one and only Professor Snape. He saunters over with quick, deliberate strides. “Students should not be loitering in the halls” his eyes Harry up and down “Unless you desire Gryffindor to lose ten more points, Potter” he speaks his name as if it was poison.

“We were just leaving” Harry murmurs, taking your arm as he starts to walk off. Snape catches you by the collar of your robe “Not. you.”. Harry reluctantly let’s go. You turn around to face Snape fully. “Care to share what you and Potter were discussing?” He asks, brow quirking. A scoff escapes you “That was a private conversation-” He cuts you off abruptly, pinning you against the wall. “What. were you about to tell him?” His tone is harsher than before, sending a course of fear through you. You swallow loudly. “My secret.” you say quietly. His eyes narrow, as if you were only confirming his suspicions and this was not news to him. “Why on earth would you do that? Are you trying to sabotage this entire mission” He mutters through gritted teeth, his grip becoming tighter.

“He’d understand!” you shout - whisper. “He’d understand that it isn’t by choice!”. He rolls his eyes, pursing his lips. He’d rather do anything else than babysit another student, but he can’t. “Do you really have that much faith in that boy..” he mutters, sounding absolutely done with you. “Why can’t we just tell him? Everything I mean” you just start to speak without thinking, the weight of carrying around this burden finally causing you to falter. “They’ll figure it out, it’s inevitable, if everyone- just stopped lying to him-”. An exasperated sigh interrupts you “Oh for the love of Merlin” he pinches the bridge of his nose. “It’d be simpler, all, all of…this! I should just tell them-”. He pushes you against the wall with more force. “If you care about your companions you keep your mouth shut or they’re all good as dead!” he doesn’t expound, leaving it at that, letting you go. “Stupid child” he barks, smoothing out the crumpled fabric of your sleeve.

“Get out of my sight”. You’ve just pushed yourself off the wall when his voice stops you once more. “Time is drawing nearer, the dark lord’s return is dawning upon us all, and my objective will be carried out…soon”. You look around to make sure the very open hallway is empty, but if he’s speaking so freely he must deem it safe. He continues. “When that time comes, you will lay low until the horror show has passed”. The initial confusion in your expression, contorts into anger and betrayal.

“No I have to fight…i…no, no I need to fight I need to do something” you protest. “Good. day.” You watch your whole world spin as he starts to depart. Quickly, you grab his hand to stop him and he physically tenses up. “I cannot just watch from the sidelines,not after everything that git has put me through, not after what he did to my brother.”. He scoffs once more, but there’s hardly any bite behind it. He jerks his hand free from your hold. “And what do you propose I do?” he’s not even looking at you, it made you feel small. “Send me, send me with Draco when he..” you find yourself not being able to finish that sentence.

His previous petulance returns, and he approaches aggressively, you almost think he’s about to pounce on you. “No such thing will take place, do you comprehend?” It’s obvious that it takes all his willpower to not grab you by the shoulders and shake some sense into you. “Listen to me and listen closely, you are not Draco, you don’t have anyone, no one to look out for you. He has his parents, you only have me!” He speaks swiftly and sharply. You have nothing to say, but it doesn’t matter because he wasn’t finished. “So much work, i’ve done, to make sure that no one suspects a thing, you are practically invisible to the dark lord and that’s the best you could hope for, stay. Alive.”

“Professor Snape, I cannot, have an opportunity to avenge my brother and not cease it, he would have never let that happen if I was the one to die that night” you confess quietly, hoping that your words had some effect on him. His expression remains annoyed and cold, as always. He sighs, placing his hands on his hips. “So this is for your brother?” He asks, you nod. He massages his temples, eyes scrunching as if he were in pain “I might vomit”. He paces for a few seconds, you wonder if he remembers you’re there. Large hands tightly, almost painfully grip your shoulders. “Listen, you insufferable dingbat, your mother can’t take another heartbreak, losing two children? In such a timely manner?”. You couldn’t tell if he was sincerely concerned or trying to talk you out of your ideas.

You stand your ground. “I’ve made up my mind, I’m not asking you to throw me into a boxing ring, but I must help in any way I can”. He nods, letting go of you, he slams his palm into the wall, the sound echoing. It’s almost comedic how quickly he goes back to his indifferent demeanor. “You aren’t. Ready” he says bluntly. “Meet me in the dungeons, I’ll have a few things to teach you, do not come before midnight” He turns to walk off, for the last time he hopes. You nod slowly, pausing as a thought occurs to you. “Wait- what about my prefects-”. He doesn’t turn around “figure it out” now he’s gone, leaving in the same abrupt manner he arrived. Such an odd man, you think. An odd man, that might determine if you make it out of Voldermort’s hold alive or not. Leave overthinking for another time, you have an escape route to figure out.

a long post about how xander would behave as fan because idk im obsessed with xander

i dont know how to start this since this was just my messy train of thoughts so yeah. none of this would be coherent at all because its not an essay

i think the reason of why xander would be a healthy fan is because of the person he is, while he had shown up with some tendencies of putting david in a pedestal, hes still trying to learn about his and everyones boundaries, its just that hes human that he cant control himself, after all, he describes himself as someone "who feels very strongly abour everything" yet he still tries.

to start of why xander behaves like a massive fanboy of david, i think its obvious because it begins with how david was there for his worst moments, when his family died, of course he would set such a big pedestal for a man who basically saved his life from going into a spiral of depression, anyone in his place would behave the same when meeting his "hero". and about how he defended david when teruko tried to said something "bad" about him, remember that everyone had in mind the good and nice image of david

in contrast to david, who only knew xander for 3 days, who saw his crimes, he is in a big denial about it. while we dont know how xander would react to what david has become, in my theory or headcanon, i think he would be pretty disappointed and heartbroken, because he stands for whats right, what david did, lying about murdering arei AND then trying to commit mass suicide, its a low point even for xander. BUT this js just a headcanon for now

i also think how xander is a polite person because how hes always referring the girls with a "miss", even arei who he doesnt quite like her, while the male cast he refers them with "mister". often whatnot he calls teruko by her name only and its only when he was trying to get her trust or truly meaning something (to those curious, he only referred once david by his name and it was when telling him that he wont let him down because he has always liked by who he is lol)

Why I Love Get By Text

I have a confession: I've been writing browser tests lately, and my preferred approach to locators is becoming get by text or get by label.

I am aware that some of you might want to throw some full wine bottles at me now. But I stand by it.

Over the course of my career as a test automation specialist, I've worked with a bunch of web applications for which I automated browser tests. One of the most critical aspects of writing browser tests is finding good locators to hook into in order to drive the application. Naturally, since there are plenty of options there are also plenty of opinions on what kind of locator strategies to use. Typically these follow some kind pattern like this;

Use id attributes that are permanent, if you can. If you can't, then

Use data-testid or other custom attributes specifically for automation if you can. If this isn't an option then

Use class attributes, which tend to be stable. If you can't do this, then

Use CSS properties to specify elements. And if all the above aren't options, then

Use text or xpath locators or something and hope for the best.

Generally patterns like this are a good heuristic for identifying locators. However, the nature of front-end web applications has gradually changed over the past decade. Most front-ends are now generated through frameworks and not through hand-written HTML, CSS and JS. A result of such frameworks is that elements aren't always able to be directly manipulated by developers, and you need to rely on the capabilities of the framework. Browsers (and computers more generally) have gotten faster and more efficient. And lastly, tooling has evolved greatly for browser automation. Selenium WebDriver is a web standard now, and there's lots of other tools that can be used.

Based on all this progress, one would imagine that there's been progress on how to choose or use locators well with modern and maybe less-modern web apps and pages. One would be, I think, disappointed to find out there hasn't been much progress here. Finding and maintaining locators is pretty similar to how things looked many years ago. Front-end developers still hesitate to add custom attributes for testing sometimes. Newer web frameworks dynamically create elements, so id attributes are either not present or not reliable enough for automation. No one understands CSS, still.
