MY OPINION My heart.  I love a good time loop fic and the way this one was handled was not only unique but superb.  I love the format, the delivery of relevant information, the characterizations etc. This story made my heart break for every single one of these characters. That all being said, the content warnings I put up there are no joke. Seriously. Read with caution. I usually have a very strong stomach for all the content warnings I put up there, but this works Dead Dove tag is well deserved. 

On a more cheerful note, I didn’t realize how many works I had read by The Silencer until I was scrolling through their account. I will definitely be recommending some more from them in the future.

I found this fic when it was at chapter 3 I believe, and I literally was checking it every day until it was finished. The clinical way Tim handles his own deaths until he can’t anymore, the fact that he is an unreliable narrator and the way that is handled by the author, the plot and writing style- look, there’s a reason this fic is in like 40 different collections on AO3.

His eyes close, and he’s left in the dark with nothing but his racing heart for company. He’s not tired, he’s never been less tired. But the curse wants him to sleep, it seems. It’ll force him to lie here until he does. How much of his life will it start to control, now that he’s declared war against it? Now that he knows it’s lurking in his bones, now that it doesn’t have to be subtle?

He swallows. Takes a long, deep breath, gathering every bit of courage he has to stop himself from slipping back into panic. He still has control over his lungs. He still has that.

MY OPINION

Marvelous. That’s the best descriptor of this fic. Every chapter is a bit more gut-wrenching than the last. I will say,the dissociation warning is no joke, it's one of the central parts of the fic. The long build-up of angst is so heartbreaking, and the ending is so sweet

I'm Back!

Hello! It's me! I'm not dead!

I have been wanting to come back to this blog for the past two years despite how briefly I was actually posting on it. My fanfiction document has almost doubled in size since I was last over here, it is now at a whopping 153 pages. So basically I'm thrilled to be back, I'm out of work on medical leave right now so I'll have a good few weeks to get a bunch of posts queued! Recs will be back starting tomorrow 5 pm EST!

My opinions: So it's written in a very clinical format, from Peter's own perspective after the spider bite. Think: someone trying to write about themselves in the first person. I haven't seen anything written exactly like it, but the format fits very well with the story itself. I also don't see many fics nowadays that go into detail about the aftermath of Peter becoming enhanced, likely because Homecoming didn't go into it. This particular one is well researched about the effects of the various components of Peter's mutation. I really can't say enough how well done this fic is and I'm afraid of spoiling it if I go further into detail.
