The video has generated enough views to plant ~800 trees
Let's keep it going!
youtube
This guy is hoping to plant thousands of trees in Australia and is funding it with views on YouTube.
The video is just under 10 minutes long and will cost you nothing to watch but will do so much to increase biodiversity and carbon sequestration in his area.

Please 😭🙏 I only need 25 euros to buy 1 kg of flour to feed my children. I'm not asking for more. Please, don't ignore this and try to contribute - I really need you right now. ✅️My account has been verified by @gazavetters, my number on the list is (#380) ✅️

To achieve a better world, we cannot just fight against oppression when it arises. We must work together to pave the path towards a brighter future. Otherwise, we are doomed to repeat these cycles that lead to bigotry, hate, imbalances of power, and crisis.
Don't panic; organise
instagram
Our resistance is a two-pronged approach. As we fight back against fascist repression to protect ourselves and our communities, we absolutely must start to envision what to replace the current regime with. It’s no good to wish for “a return to normalcy”—that “normal” is what got us here in the first place. Don’t let what is get in the way of what could or should be. Think past capitalism. Think past liberal vs. conservative, Democrat vs. Republican. Get past the fear of envisioning something you believe others are going to ridicule you for. That’s just exposing how unimaginative others have been conditioned, indoctrinated to become.
And when you share your vision, you may very well find out that you are not alone. Sure, facing off against the American Gestapo requires courage. Envisioning and sharing that vision also takes courage and conviction. And you don’t need to have all the answers. No one person has them. But together we just might.
Reject any demand to justify what that vision is with all these “What about…?” and “What would happen if…?” questions, anything in the spirit of bad faith. Anything that demands that you have it all figured out. It’s not one person’s task. Instead, deflect those bad-faith questions with questions of your own. You turn the tables on them and do the interrogation yourself.
Ask them why they believe as they do. Ask them for the answers on how capitalism/the status quo is going to solve our problems. Ask them if they think that what’s currently going on is normal. Ask them why they feel the need to cling to this sense of normalcy. Ask them if it’s okay to normalize this sort of repression and law-flouting. Get the dialogue going. This is how to struggle with people. It’s called Material Dialectics, now demystified.

Polluted groundwater, arms supplies to Israel, workers doing hard labour outside amidst record heatwaves, slave labour in China supplying over 200 companies, the list goes on. An 83-year-old priest and a human rights lawyer were among around 25 people arrested for holding signs saying “I oppose genocide. I support Palestine Action” in Parliament Square today.
The action, by protest group Defend Our Juries, was the first organised challenge to the proscription of Palestine Action, which came into effect at 00.01 this morning.
This is the first time a non-violent, direct action group has been designated a terrorist organisation in the UK.
In an open letter sent to Met police commissioner Mark Rowley on Friday, Defend Our Juries outlined its plans. “We would like to alert you to the fact we may be committing offences under the Terrorism Act tomorrow, Saturday 5 July, in Parliament Square at about 1pm,” it said.
It portrayed the action - which it said would be nonviolent and pose “no risk whatsoever of anyone being harmed” - as both a challenge to the ban and a test of how it will be enforced.
“If we cannot speak freely about the genocide that is occurring, if we cannot condemn those who are complicit in it and express support for those who resist it, then the right to freedom of expression has no meaning, and democracy and human rights in this country are dead,” it said.
Reverend Sue Parfitt, 83, told Novara Media the group was “testing the law”. She said she wasn’t afraid of being arrested. “I know that we are in the right place doing the right thing,” she said. “As my friend Ruth always says, ‘we cannot be bystanders’.”
Minutes later, police began making arrests.
Palestine Action applied to pause the ban in the high court yesterday, but lost both a hearing and an appeal shortly afterwards.
Speaking to the Guardian on Friday, Raza Husain KC, representing Palestine Action founder Huda Ammori, described the decision as “an ill-considered, discriminatory and authoritarian abuse of statutory power”.
The Met did not respond to Novara Media’s request for comment.

Read it once in your life, and never regret it. ✋
Do you feel bored of the posts asking for help from Gaza? You’re right, but imagine our situation as we live this war day after day for 13 months. Do you think we’re tired too?!!...
Asking for help is not easy, it is very embarrassing, especially for a family that used to live a decent life. I had my own clothing store and I used to help others, not ask for help. But the war turned our lives into a nightmare, we lost our home, our sources of income, my store was destroyed and even our ability to provide the most basic needs.
....
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I am Mahmoud, 47 years old, and I have three children. For 13 months, we have been struggling to get healthy food and medicine for our children, whose weak bodies have been infected. I lost my mother due to medical negligence, poor treatment materials, and lack of healthy food, as prices have increased more than 10 times. Now everything has run out. As you read my message, my family and I are trying to survive amidst all kinds of suffering.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What was once a beautiful dream and reality has now become a nightmare. Starvation is one thing, but starving, freezing, and being forced to flee in the middle of the night when tanks suddenly arrive in your area, running for your life and your family’s life under fire, leaving behind everything you built over the years, and returning after 5 months of suffering in displacement and tents to find that your home, where you lived your happiest moments, is nothing but rubble, is something completely different! 💔😓
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Can you feel my broken heart now? Can you imagine what I’m going through at this moment? Everything I am living now cannot be described with words, and every moment here is filled with pain and fear. We desperately need your help, as we live in hope of escaping Gaza to save our lives and live safely away from the explosions
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You might feel powerless to stop this genocide, but you can certainly save my family. We appeal to your compassionate hearts to help us escape this catastrophe, which the human mind cannot even fathom
Please share our campaign with your family and friends. This will help us reach those who can help us directly. Be the reason to bring hope back to our hearts ♥️✨
I know you share my story out of love and humanity, and I am truly grateful for that. 🙏💚 .
The painful truth is sharing alone does not feed the hungry or provide medicine for the sick.💔...
Cost of a bag of flour is $300 which is the main source of food for my family and is needed weekly just to make bread. We live in a tent my child trembles from hunger and cold, and all I can do is pray. 😥
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Please, don’t just watch or share. Even a small donation could be a lifeline for a hungry child or a suffering patient. 🙏
Our hope for survival comes from the generosity of your hearts. Your donations are the lifeline that keeps my family standing strong, They are our only source of income. Every contribution brings us closer to securing food and medicine for my family. Please, don’t leave us alone; your compassion is the light that dispels this darkness. ✨🫂

Activism is not cold-calling.
Activism is not cold-calling, and this is critically important to understand.
I'm seeing a lot of posts on here about 'building bridges' and 'finding community,' and then (extremely valid) response posts saying "BUT HOW??" And I'm going to explain something that can be very counter-intuitive: there is strategy involved in community.
As a longtime volunteer labour organizer, I’ve taken and taught many trainings on the strategy of talking. Something that surprises a lot of people is the very first thing you do in a union campaign. You sit down with your organizing committee, take out pen and paper, and literally map it out. You draw a physical map of the workplace: where are the entrances, exits, break rooms, supervisor offices. Essentially, ‘where is it safe to have a union conversation.’ Then you draw another physical chart of your coworkers. You sort out who is union-friendly, openly hostile to unions, or somewhere in the middle, and then you plan out very deliberately and carefully who talks to whom and in what order.
Consider: If Vocally Leftist Jane walks up to Conservative David and says "hey what do you think about unions," David is going to shut down immediately. He's not inclined to listen to Jane. But if Jane talks to Moderate Jason and brings him into the fold, then Jason is a far more effective strategic choice to talk to David, and David may actually hear him out without an instant reaction.
IMPORTANT CAVEAT: If Conservative David turns out to be Alt-Right David, and could be dangerous to follow organizers, we write him off. We are not trying to reach Alt-Right David. We are trying to reach Conservative David, who may actually be persuaded to find solidarity with other employees as fellow workers. Jason is a safe scout to find out which one he is. It does no one any good if Leftist Jane (or even Moderate Jane who is a visible minority) talks to Alt-Right David and puts herself on his radar. Not only has she done nothing to convince Alt-Right David to join a union - she's probably actively turned him against the idea - but now she's also in danger and the entire campaign is at risk. NOBODY WANTS THIS. Jane was NOT a hero for doing this. The organizing committee was foolish and enacted a terrible strategy to everyone's detriment.
Where you can make a difference is with people who will listen to you. You having a conversation with your well-meaning but clueless Centrist Democrat Auntie, and maybe gently helping her understand some things the media has been glossing over, is way more strategically useful than you marching up to MAGA Neighbour You've Met Once and trying to "build community" or "understand" them. They don't care. They're impervious, dangerous, and cruel. But maybe your beloved auntie will think about what you said, and then talk to her friend Anna who IDs as "fiscally conservative" but didn't vote because she can't bring herself to get on board with Trump. Then perhaps Anna talks to her brother Nic who has MAGA leanings but isn't all the way there yet. Proto-MAGA Nic would not have listened to you, nor would he have listened to Centrist Democrat Auntie, but he might absorb some of what his sister is saying.
This is not a cop-out or an echo chamber. This is you spending your time and energy strategically and safely. You are not a useful activist to anyone if you’re dead. Anyone who is telling you to hurl yourself directly at MAGA assholes like cannon fodder has no understanding of the strategy behind community building, and you should feel comfortable writing them off.
Last point: If you are tired, emotionally devastated, and/or in danger: take a break. This post is for people who would feel better jumping into action, not for people who are too overwhelmed to even think about it right now. You are worth so much even if you’re not actively Doing Activism, and your rest is worth more than “a break period so you can recharge and Do More Activism.” We all deserve the individual dignity of being worthy of comfort, rest & safety just on the basis of being human, outside of whatever we're doing for others' benefit. To deny ourselves that dignity is to devalue ourselves, and that’s the absolute last thing any of us should be doing right now.

I NEED YOUR HELP!
i have requested a local audience with a city council near me to discuss removing anti homeless signs in the area. i'm starting there, i guess these signs are even in the next state over, (Connecticut) and other towns too. so this will be a multi-agency task. but i gotta start somewhere. and i have a feeling that showing them i've got signatures from lots of folks who feel the same way will be more persuasive.
i will give more backstory in a read more, but in the meantime...
please sign my petition
ok, so yesterday i met with a representative from another anarchist collective at a local Barnes & Noble. as i was leaving and on my drive home, i pulled up to an intersection where folks are typically panhandling.
i saw this sign.
Tumblr media
i have NEVER seen a sign like this before in my life. i was absolutely revolted. this is a known spot where folks panhandle. this was very much intentional.
this shit just doesn't sit right with me. i won't accept this.
can you imagine being so down on your luck that your last resort is to stand in the street hoping others will give you money, and then you look up and see that sign from the government literally telling people not to help you? i just... can't. it's sick. it's anti-homeless in the most vicious, inhumane degree.
that's not even addressing on how many of these "recognized" charities aren't actually doing anything to help
i could use all the help i can get when i meet with officials
