Currently: $2010/2590

our next periodic goal of $2590 is due by August 4th!

If we get $25/day we will be able to reach this goal in time!

This will help us pay for 1 package of 10 school days (this will last us 10 weeks now since Dallas goes 1x week) that is $810, that we have been invoiced and are hoping to pay by august 8th AND a private lesson with our trainers that is $200!

Have you ever had a child run and jump into your arms for a hug when you weren’t expecting it? Maybe they don’t land quite right and their full weight lands right on your ribs, knocking the breath right out of you. It hurts, but you don’t want to yell at them or put them down. You don’t want to make them feel bad when they’re just trying to get comfort from you. 

That’s how I feel every time I have a flashback. It feels like like one of my little traumatized parts jumping into my arms and slamming into me with the full force of their weight. It hurts and it takes my breath away. I try to catch them and hold them there for a moment, to tell them it’s okay and that I’m not angry, but they are so heavy and I will be overwhelmed if I hold them for too long. Instead of just holding them, we become entwined. We blend together, and then I sink down to the floor with them where I can’t help either of us. 

“I’m going to listen to you, but I have to put you down,” I tell them. 

With a little more space, I can witness their story without experiencing it with them. I can be there for them without becoming them. It still hurts, but I can breathe and I have the strength for it. I can hold their hand and comfort them the way they should have been comforted the first time.
