Something I *really* love about A League of Their Own is the Jo/Greta relationship. The early episodes included several shots of Jo reacting (mostly negatively) to Greta interacting with Carson. And I was prepared for one of two tropes: (1) Jo has been secretly in love with her best friend and lashes out when the best friend gets a new love interest or (2) Jo is jealous of Greta having a new friend and ruins their relationship over it.
But, no. The show did not do that. Instead, Jo was concerned for Greta and didn't want her to get hurt. And that comes from a deep friendship where it has been Greta & Jo against the world for a long time. And if that wasn't enough, they had them have a honest conversation about their relationship and the dynamics of it. Greta loves Jo and Jo loves Greta but that doesn't mean that they aren't honest with each other, even if it might hurt.
If the show gets more seasons, I'm much more interested in seeing more of the Greta/Jo relationship than the Greta/Carson relationship. Not that it has to be one of the other. It's just Greta/Carson felt like a complete story to me. I'd enjoy to see more, but I'm also fine leaving it as is. But Greta & Jo? I need to see what happens to them; especially as Jo's life as a ball player is potentially forever altered because of her loyalty to Greta. Deep stuff there that I will be disappointed about if the show does not address.
god how many times have we seen in the games that just bc someone is wearing a costume doesn’t mean it’s the person who usually wears it lmao like in all the cases i can think of with costumes/disguises, it’s never the person you most expect to be wearing it
people think Batman is the vicious attack dog Superman has on a short leash. absolutely, incredibly wrong. Batman has Mr. “I love sunshine and save puppies from trees” on a leash that consists entirely of him saying “Kal” in a low tone because Superman can’t handle a perceived threat to Batman without absolutely losing it, red burning eyes and all.
last three seasons spn are crazy. its just dean being borderline suicidal while sam tries to fix it by basically dangling his keys at him and going : “dean look! cowboys!” “dean look! strip club!” “dean look! haunted action figure.”
Meanwhile castiel is like i see that dean is suicidal, this is clearly my fault so i will remedy this by dying.
Even while his desires were being fully consumed by the demon, he recognized the threat it posed and, in his final moments before ‘disappearing’, reached for Marcille’s hand. And in the process… seemingly revived her, given the winged lion’s reaction. Wagh…
Incidentally… this is also part of why Marcille and Laios say this in the second to last chapter. She needed to be revived to revive the rest of the party + break the seal on the demon (which also caused problems… but it all worked out in the end.) Man.
[ID: Art of Susato Mikotoba and Haori Murasame/Rei Membami, done on a stylized background of swirling cherry blossom petals. Haori is falling backward, pulling Susato with her, so close that their noses are touching. Haori closes her eyes as she pulls off Susato’s cap, while Susato — still dressed as Ryutaro Naruhodo — looks down at her with eyes wide. The background is suffused with the faint colors of the lesbian flag. End ID]
