A/N: this is nasty and very descriptive i’m so sorry i really sinned here. anyway enjoy!
Tumblr media
you and megumi have been friends since school. after all, it was inevitable that a friendship would form between the only two kids whose parents consistently forgot to pick them up after class.
nods of acknowledgment quickly developed into trading pokémon cards, sharing samanco waffles, cheating off each other during tests.
it was the most meaningful relationship you had in your life, the one other person who really got you and the situation you were in, and before you knew it, you two were being admitted to the same college, like you’d talked about all those years ago.
in the meantime, megumi’s dad had… mellowed out. from what you knew.
sure, he was still gone for weeks at a time, neglectful, irresponsible and womanizing, but one final falling out with their family seemed to have lifted a big weight off his shoulders, and he became more present in megumi’s life, less resentful. you knew he wasn’t a good guy, but you also knew he was trying, in his own way.
besides that, you also couldn’t help noticing other things about the man. you first started paying attention when you were in high school, always hanging out at megumi’s place to play video games or study.
toji would come home sometimes, smelling of smoke and sake, tonguing the scar on the side of his lip. plopping down on their shaggy sofa, legs spread wide, thick thighs straining the fabric of his pants. you would give megumi some excuse about getting something from the kitchen and just watch toji, lazily browsing channels with one hand inside his sweats.
it wasn’t a big deal. but it never quite went away, your infatuation growing with your desperation the more the man hung around. you did everything you could to get his attention.
you wore the frilliest, shortest skirts, left dirty dishes on the sink, showed up too late at night drunk and stumbling “looking for megumi”, acting out so you could try to get some reaction out of toji. but he never seemed to give you a second thought, annoyance being the closest thing to an emotion on his face every time your eyes met.
but you were no quitter. you knew one day you would get what you deserved. maybe not today, but… eventually.
you approach the fushiguro household’s front door, fishing out the extra key megumi had given you from your backpack pocket. you two had a study session today but he’d texted you telling you he’d be late and to just let yourself in, so that’s what you do.
with a sigh, you set down your laptop on their coffee table and sit down on the couch, looking up at the ceiling. before you can finish getting comfortable, a tall, broad figure is looming over your face and you almost jump out of your skin.
“what the f—oh my god,” you laugh in embarrassment. “you scared me, fushiguro-san.”
he doesn’t react, his eyes boring into yours. “me? you’re the one breaking into my house.”
you roll your eyes, pulling your legs up below your body. “megumi gave me a key. we’re supposed to study today, do you know where—“
“he’s with that itadori kid. don’t think he’s coming back tonight,” toji moves to sit down on the loveseat, turning the tv on. the old, boxy thing crackles to life, a boat race playing on the screen. toji adjusts his body in attention. “so you can fuck off back home.”
“um,” you start, but nothing else comes out of your mouth. you let your eyes wander all over his lax form, and you can faintly make out his abs below the raggedy shirt he’s wearing. it makes your stomach turn.
without taking his eyes off the screen, he addresses you again. “you know where the door is.”
an idea starts to form in your head. a really, really bad, tempting idea.
you discreetly take off your sweatshirt, leaving you in just your undershirt, no bra. you hope toji can scent the whiff of perfume you exude when you move, scooting closer to the edge of the sofa.
“nah, i think i’ll just study here. my parents are home today and they’re too… y’know.”
“not my fuckin’ problem,” he picks at his teeth, spreading his legs wider. your desperation is growing with each second he spends not looking at you.
you lift up your bag, something clinking inside. it's a bold move, but it's now or never.
“i brought booze. we could just share some and then i’ll go.”
that at least gets a reaction. the man snorts, finally glancing over at you from the corner of his eyes. you instinctively push your chest out, feeling eager.
“is that what you do with my son under my roof? get shitfaced in the house that i pay for?”
“well i paid for the vodka so i don’t see how that’s any of your business,” you make a point to pull out the bottle from your bag, swinging it around.
toji’s expression hardens, his jaw clenching. you know he doesn’t like to be challenged, absolutely hates smart mouths. you should be in for a treat.
“who the hell do you think you’re talking to, kid?” he stands up and snatches the bottle from you, turning it around in his — big, veiny, deliciously calloused — hand and laughing. “vanilla flavored? fuck, you really are a kid.” he says it like the realization excites him.
you can feel your face flush.
“are you gonna turn down free alcohol, toji?” it’s risky, dropping the honorific. you know he doesn’t like it, can see it in his face, but he doesn’t say anything.
instead, he unscrews the top with ease and takes a swig, grimacing at the taste. you watch as his throat works, adam’s apple bobbing.
his arms are huge, you can’t imagine he was ever shaped like megumi is nowadays, slender and frail. toji is tall and broad and big, with a permanent 5 o’clock shadow on his defined features.
he grabs two whiskey glasses and sets them down on the coffee table — no coasters —, pouring some vodka in both of them. it was most definitely not your idea to do straight shots tonight with megumi, but you will not go through the humiliation of asking for a soda to mix it with.
you’re desperate to have toji view you as the adult you are, no longer megumi’s awkward middle school best friend. you know you’ve grown up well; all you need is for toji to see it too.
you drink in silence for a bit, the only noises coming from toji being his disappointed grunts as the boats he bet on fall behind. you type away at your laptop, not really being able to focus with the heat rising within you.
he refills both your cups a couple more times, but makes no effort to talk.
you slowly but surely start to get antsy, your determination wavering and giving way to a funny feeling one can only experience by drinking with their best friend’s dad who they’ve wanted to fuck for like, ever.
so you bite the bullet and with the liquid courage flowing in your veins, you strike up conversation.
“y’know, toji, i’ve always wanted to ask,” his head lolls on his shoulder to look at you lazily and disinterested. “what happened to megumi’s mom? he doesn’t talk about it.”
“yeah, well. me either,” toji replies. you take a deep breath.
“you’re gone a lot. megumi is alone a lot.”
toji scoffs.
“thought that was what you were here for, hmm? megumi’s done well for himself,” he finally, probably for the first time in your life, gives you a proper look over, his eyes traveling all over your frame, tucked into the armrest of the couch. “scored himself a nice little bitch.”
you let out a strangled noise. you’re fighting laughter when you exclaim, “i’m sorry?! you think megumi and i have a—like, a thing?”
toji just shrugs, stretching one leg out in front of him. “i figured. why else would you loiter around my house so much?”
oh, if he only knew.
“no, no. it’s never been like that. megumi’s not really my type.” toji hums inquisitively, and you take that as a sign to continue. “i’m into more… mature guys.”
toji eyes you knowingly, but seemingly amused.
“that right?” you nod. “fuckin’ kid like you even know what to do with a man?”
you raise an eyebrow. you’re a sophomore in college, well into your twenties. he can’t be serious. “surely you know i’m not a kid anymore. surely you d—“
“surely my ass,” he exclaims and oh, he’s a little terrifying like this. toji downs however much was left in his cup and turns to you, pointing with the hand holding his glass. “you’re a full of shit, foul mouthed, rude brat. get the fuck out of my house, you’re pissing me off.”
you’re used to toji’s outbursts, not because you know him well but because every time you see him, seldom as it is, he always loses his temper, sooner or later.
“i think,” you take another sip, feeling loose. “your old ass wouldn’t be able to handle sex. like, actual sex, not those rich hags you who just lay there for you and give you money in the end. if you had to put in any real work i bet your heart would give out you slimey pi—“
you can’t finish your sentence because you can’t breathe, suddenly. your eyes widen, chest spasming as your oxygen gets cut off mid-sentence. toji has one of his huge palms covering your nose and mouth.
you look up at him with watery eyes but he’s not looking back, he’s chugging vodka straight from the bottle again.
he puffs his cheeks and moves his hand to cup your jaw, smirking around a mouthful of alcohol.
you catch your breath quickly, the hand that was clawing at his falling limply on your lap. toji holds your face, his grip unforgiving as he leans over you. his form is so, so much bigger than yours, towering over you completely, and all you can do is look up at him with a blank expression.
his thumb pries your mouth open with ease, the digit hooking behind your bottom teeth as toji’s face gets closer and closer. on instinct, you close your eyes.
soon, hot, stinging liquid is pouring steadily into your mouth. toji swishes the rest of the vodka between his cheeks — on purpose, you’re sure — before spitting it directly on your tongue.
it’s disgusting, everything about it makes your stomach churn, but it also makes you squeeze your legs together, chest rising and falling rapidly as you swallow without having to be told to.
“ya talk too fuckin’ much, brat,” he grumbles. ironically, you’re at a loss for words. “someone needs put you in your place already.”
“you,” your voice cracks and nearly fails you, but you’re determined. it surprises him, that you’d have something to say. that you’re still game. you can see it in his face, in the way his hands come off of you. “i want you to.”
toji’s expression is hard and unchanging. his fingers go back to your face, two of them slipping inside your lax lips.
your breath stutters as you inhale, instinctively sucking the digits and working your tongue around them.
toji grabs his cock through his pants pointedly.
“fuckin’ slut… that what you want?” you nod. he takes a step forward, knees hitting the couch. “is that why you walk around my house looking like a fucking whore?”
a whine dies in your throat at the sweet, sweet recognition.
he noticed.
he noticed and it bothered him and you really couldn’t bring yourself to care that he was your best friend’s father right now because he was tenting his sweatpants and your mouth was watering at the sight.
“please…” you paw at his waistband, pulling on the drawstrings. toji laughs at your desperation, voice growing gruff.
he buries a hand in your hair, fingers closing around your locks tightly and making your eyes sting with tears. slowly, he pushes your face into his crotch, so close that you can feel it pulsing, can feel every ridge, can feel that he’s not wearing any underwear.
god, you can smell him, and it makes your head spin, your mouth huffing out hot breaths and wetting the front of his pants.
you hook your fingers in the back of his sweats and pull until they’re down tight around his thighs. you have to maneuver the fabric over the head of his erection, earning a hiss from the man towering over you.
his dick springs up, slapping you in the face and leaving a smear of pre across the bridge of your nose. you think toji snorts at that but you can’t be sure. you’re too mesmerized.
he’s so, so big, the skin darker and flushed, tight, heavy balls and the head, angry red, peeking out from the foreskin.
your throat goes dry at the thought of it inside of you, inside any of your holes, because you know it’ll destroy you forever. and you want it.
toji doesn’t have the appeal that most men his age do to most girls your age. he doesn’t make you feel safe, he doesn’t offer financial support, he doesn’t care about your well-being, he doesn’t have his shit together. and to make matters worse to you, he’s your best friend’s dad, who your best friend doesn’t even like that much, whose presence has been totally indifferent to megumi for most of his life.
it makes you burn in shame to know you’re about to have a man 25 years your senior in your mouth.
you readjust your position on the couch so that you’re sitting on your knees, angling your face with his cock. it’s curved, pointing up, and you wonder how much of it he’s gonna wanna stuff down your throat. judging by the pure evil glinting in his eyes, it’s gonna be as much as possible.
you take a deep breath, steadying a hand around his length. it’s concerning that you can just barely close your fingers around him, but you put that thought aside to focus on pulling the skin down gently so you can wrap your lips around the tip.
toji sighs in relief, his grip in your hair tightening.
you begin to work your head up and down, licking the underside of his cock to gather up saliva.
“thaaat’s it, what a good little bitch. got a sweet little mouth on ya,” he whispers, hips thrusting slightly to work his cock further into your mouth. “yer gonna take all of it? or are ya all talk?”
you whine, gripping the base and sliding further down his length. he’s already hitting the back of your throat, making your eyes water and your stomach seize. you pick up the pace, twisting your wrist rhythmically as you suck him.
“don’t swallow,” he threatens, forcing his cock deeper into you, the head sliding into the opening of your throat. “lemme see how messy this slutty face can get.”
you choke audibly, eyes smarting with tears, makeup smudging. you look up at him with furrowed brows in a silent plea of mercy.
toji’s having none of it.
he puts one foot down on the sofa, next to your legs, giving himself the leverage to start fully fucking your face now. he wraps both hands around your throat and thrusts his hips violently into your mouth, his thumbs pressing down to feel his length in your throat.
“ahh, fuck,” he throws his head back, reveling in your desperate gurgles. you feel like a fucking ragdoll, like a fleshlight, unable to control the noises you make or how much dick you take. “takin’ me so well. who taught you to squeeze your throat like that, huh? so fuckin’ slutty.”
you sob around his cock, nose buried in his pubes. he’s impossibly hard, impossibly wet as thick strings of spit and pre hang from your lips, dripping down to his balls, falling to the floor.
toji keeps fucking your throat relentlessly, granting you mere seconds between thrusts to inhale a desperate breath that immediately starts to burn in your lungs.
he’s a fucking sight though, above you. chin tucked into his chest, veins bulging and biceps flexed, nostrils flared as he watches you devour him.
he pulls out suddenly, leaving you choking for air. tears stream down your face, spit bubbling out of your nostril. you look all wrong, like you’d been put back together by someone after being utterly demolished.
“open your mouth,” toji orders. you obey and he grabs his cock, slapping the head against your tongue a few times. he slides his length in and out for a bit before he starts jerking himself off. “suck my balls.”
you take that moment to swallow down the saliva that had pooled between your teeth, tucking away the wet strands of hair that frame your face.
toji’s lifting his cock towards his belly, fisting the head and flicking his wrist. he looks at you expectantly, and you understand it’s time to prove yourself once again.
you place a gente thumb right below his shaft, where his sack hangs. your tongue dips in between his balls, shyly at first, just slightly tracing the shape of them before you pop one into your mouth.
toji groans, the hand on his cock gaining speed. you squeeze your thighs together; you’re so wet that it makes you uncomfortable. you lean forward on your knees, steadying yourself with your palms planted firmly on his thighs.
you’re sucking his balls earnestly now , one then the other, then both at the same time, angling your head up and working your tongue up and down the wrinkled skin.
toji’s loving it, maybe more than the blowjob, and it makes you feel like a toy all over again, in an even more humiliating way because now you’re not even allowed to touch his cock, he’s just getting to use your mouth anywhere he wants.
it’s so fucking hot that it makes you dizzy. you hollow your cheeks, giving his nutsack a good suck before gingerly lifting his balls. you sneak a glance up at toji, hoping to catch him by surprise when your tongue dips even lower, approaching some pretty controversial territory.
it works. his breath catches in his throat and his knee kicks out instinctively.
he grabs your hair immediately, pulling you away from him.
“fuck,” you look up at him smirking, lips smeared with saliva and snort. but you don’t even care how debauched you look right now, as long as you can keep the upper hand. “you’re a nasty little bitch, aren’t ya?”
he leans down to kiss you deeply, messily, inhaling loudly through his nose. toji finishes stepping out of his sweatpants and pulls his shirt over his head, revealing what you’d been imagining for so many years.
you run your hands over his chest, his abs, down his hips, his v-line. he’s so fucking hot, got bulging muscles you didn’t even know existed in the human body, and scars you can’t even fathom the origin of.
he stares at you, looking bored. “get up.”
you do, legs shaking and prickling with pins and needles. now you can fully feel the scope of your arousal, how your panties stick to your core uncomfortably, how the wet tops of your thighs rub together.
toji sits down on the sofa and you waste no time getting on his lap, clawing at his chest and leaning in for another kiss. he’s unforgiving even like this, so much bigger than you, his hand on the back of your neck and his mouth on yours.
“arms up,” and when you comply, he’s pulling your tank top off. “good girl.”
you shiver, instinctively wrapping an arm around yourself. toji tsks at that, easily taking both your wrists in one hand and pinning them behind your back. he grabs your tit with the other, popping as much of it as he can in his mouth.
you groan, fighting against his grip to get your hands on his hair, his shoulders, anywhere. toji relentlessly sucks on your nipple, nibbling and circling it with his tongue.
when he pulls off, he lands a swift slap across your boob, ripping a groan from you.
“such a good fuckin’ slut, look at that body.”
he slaps your ass, this time, tugging your shorts over your butt. you help him get it off of you and then, finally, you’re straddling toji’s cock, no layers in between you two, just your dripping core on him.
you think, belatedly, condom, but then toji is pulling you in for another kiss and for all you know megumi could come home any minute and you wouldn’t want to waste time like that. or so you tell yourself.
his hands guide your hips to grind over him, soft mewls coming out of you and being buried into the crook of his neck.
“pretty little girl, gonna ride me? hmm? gonna ride this old man’s cock?” you whine, nodding.
you press your front against his so you can lift your ass up and guide the tip into your entrance. you don’t expect to be able to take it all, but at least like this you can control the pace and how much of it is going into you, the only thing keeping you from panicking at the sheer size of him.
the head of toji’s cock doesn’t slip inside so much as it pops inside, the ridge locking just past your opening.
it’s too big, and even though you’re soaking wet, it’s still a stretch. you both groan in unison and you realize, this is it. this is your fantasy, you’re fucking toji fushiguro, megumi’s dad, your best friend’s dad.
your legs tremble as you hold yourself up, too soon to sink down more on his cock. toji’s playing with your nipples but you have a sneaking suspicion his patience isn’t going to last much longer.
you give it a valiant effort to take more in and it feels like being ripped in two. you clench your jaw, a bead of sweat rolling down your temple.
“fuuuuck, so fuckin’ tight,” toji spreads your ass cheeks with both hands, rubbing the thin skin where you two are connected. he thrusts up, feeding your poor pussy more of his cock, and you let out a scream. “take it, c’mon.”
“unghh—can’t, toji, hang on—“
“‘course ya can,” he fucks up into you again and you sob, nails raking down his chest. he hisses and slaps your ass in punishment. you realize you might really cry.
“i can’t, it’s too big, too much—“
“shhh,” in an uncharacteristic display of affection, toji kisses the furrow between your brows, snaking a thumb between you two to rub your clit.
you throw your head back, body torn between seeking more pleasure and running from the pain. you can hear how wet you are as toji fucks in and out of you, your plush walls hugging him so well, weeping around him.
he speeds up and you bury your face in his chest, moaning wantonly into his skin. toji lets out staccato grunts, working his cock further into you with each thrust.
“any scrubs your age givin’ it to you like this?” he breathes out, grabbing your ass hard and moving it up and down his length for you. you whine, drooling on him. “yeah, that’s right. fuck, take it, that’s a good girl.”
“ahh, toji—“
“that’s not my name, whore,” he fists your hair and drags your head back until your eyes meet. “try again.”
“fushiguro-san—“ that earns you a hard slap on your ass. you yelp — wrong answer.
“toji-sama—“ another slap, and this time he grips the reddening flesh viciously. you whine, squirming in his grip.
“little braindead cumslut,” he wipes a tear with his thumb. “who’s fucking this tight pussy right now? huh? tell me who's ruining this slutty cunt.”
“d—daddy?”
toji smiles, humming, his grip on you softening as he leans in for a kiss. “that’s right, sweetheart. show daddy how much you want it.”
it’s amusing to toji, you know it. he just wants to humiliate you because he’s aware of how badly you’ve wanted this. but it does something to you, it’s serious to you, it’s so fucking depraved and sexy to you.
he lifts you up with ease and lays you back down on the couch. you feel so empty suddenly that it makes you want to cry, like toji has already carved a home inside of you for his cock that no one else will ever be able to fill.
he wastes no time getting on top of you, hooking a hand under your leg and lifting it up onto his shoulder. your eyes widen immediately, a protest dying in your tongue. this position… his cock… it’s, god, it’s gonna be—
toji plunges in in one violent, perfunctory thrust. you let out a scream, your heel kicking toji square in the back as your body rises up from the couch. he’s all the way inside now.
you can feel him bruising your cervix, his balls, wet with a mixture of the two of you, slapping against your ass, his hip bones drilling into you.
“you’re so deep,” you look at him with panic in your eyes, chest gone cold at the overwhelming pleasure. “you’re so deep.”
toji laughs, pulling out to spit on his cock. he grabs your ankle and sets it on his shoulder. “yeah, baby, daddy’s all the way inside now. feels good, doesn’t it?”
“fuck. oh fuck,” you let out shaky breaths, allowing toji to lay more of his weight on top of you. your knee is by your head now and somehow in this position his cock seems to hit even deeper, to curve up exactly in the right spots that have you struggling to breathe. “you’re gonna break me.”
“takin’ me so well. just a natural slut aren’t ya,” he’s fucking you so fast now, wet, slapping sounds resounding across the whole house.
there’s a thick creamy ring at the base of his cock, frothy and bubbly with how much you’ve been gushing for him. toji presses a thumb against your clit and rubs tight little circles, making you squeeze against him like a vice.
he grunts, speeding up his movements.
“so sensitive, this cute little pussy. you a virgin?” he slaps it a few times, your wetness sticking to his fingers with every pat. “gonna cum soon, whore?”
you whine, nodding. you wrap both arms around toji’s neck and pull him closer, open mouth awaiting expectantly.
toji grins, spitting onto your tongue before leaning in to suck it.
“toj—daddy,” you moan against his mouth, “daddy, i’m close.”
you don’t recognize your own voice. it’s slutty, desperate, pitchy, juvenile. it's too far gone.
toji works your clit over and over again, fucking you harder than you’ve ever been fucked. he splays a hand over your stomach, kneading the place where his cock is nestled inside of you and hitting a spot that makes you lose control of your body and words.
“ah, ah, ah, oh god toji fuck daddy make me cum, please please can i cum—“
“oh, fuck,” his thrusts start to become erratic and you know he’s close too. you clench around him, one leg wrapping around his hips to make sure he stays inside until you're done. “cum on daddy’s cock, come on. make a mess, little girl.”
you throw your head back, burying it into the pillows as your entire body thrashes with your orgasm. you clamp around him so hard that you can't even tell where he ends and you begin.
toji takes no mercy on you, his messy cock plunging in and out of you fast.
“gonna fill up this pretty pussy, yeah?” you shake your head desperately, one hand punching his chest. he can’t finish inside of you, right? but why do you want it so bad? “no no no, don’t fuss now baby. you want daddy’s cum inside you, don’t you? wanna give megumi a baby brother? fuck yeah i know you do fuckin' take it whore fuuuuck, fuck i'm coming—”
he thrusts once, twice, three more times, knocking all air out of your lungs and the most ridiculous moans out of your mouth before he’s spilling into you, locking your legs like a fucking pretzel and biting down your neck.
you can feel it pulsing, spurting inside of you. you can feel both your heartbeats in your abused cunt, both of your juices combined and oozing out of you.
once you catch your breath, toji pulls out of you languidly, with a yawn. you two made a fucking mess, a sticky puddle on the couch right below your ass.
toji eyes it disinterestedly, much like how he’s eyeing you right now. your sweaty, messy, fucked out self, nearly melting on the fushiguro household’s sofa.
“ah. are ya on the pill or what?” he asks, like he just now remembered. after a few seconds you nod, a little incredulous. “heh. good.”
you slowly sit up, reaching for your sweatshirt to at least cover yourself up. you sneak a hand down to your cunt, fingers sliding through the mess there to dip inside you.
fuck, you’re gaping. toji well and truly ruined your pussy. it makes you panic a little bit, but it also makes pride swell within your chest, knowing you took it, all of it.
toji finally addresses you.
“i’m gonna go take a shower,” he looks behind his shoulder, sighing. he points at you. “we left the fuckin’ tv on. if this shit racks up my bills you’re gonna have to pay me back.”
you guffaw. “me? pay you how?”
he smirks.
“got one more hole i haven’t wrecked yet, dont’cha?” he flicks your forehead. you just sit there, incredulous, trembling legs, halfway to horny again. from the bathroom, toji calls out, “let yourself out. oh, and leave the vodka.”

Babysitting Their Kid-Selves
I threw this together in a haze on Discord uhhhh enjoy thank you to @windalchemist001 for putting the idea In My Brain
------------------------------------------------
HEARTSLAYBUL
Riddle - struggles between wanting to help his youngerself have positive experiences, but also knows that depending on how old he is, it might just be super stress inducing. Finds a middle ground in giving his younger self an "easy" assignment and then giving him the time of his life, 10/10
Trey - he's burnt out from being the oldest, and from momming Riddle, and from taking care of the dorm. His kid self is being told to go play outside and don't get hurt (which his kid self obeys, and comes in when he's hungry and that's about it) very laissez-faire bc he can't be bothered. He knows the other boys in the dorm wouldn't let his kid self get hurt anyways, especially Riddle, who likely ends up taking the brunt of the responsibility 7/10
Cater - hehe yeah his kid self is Traumatized, he brings him to play video games/teach him to skate board/intro to Not Sweet snacks and ends up getting a kid trauma dumping to him. Or. he sees his kid self and nopes out, immediately asks anyone else to take care of him because he's gonna go :sparkles:cry:sparkles: but you don't need to know that. Either 9/10 or a 2/10
Deuce - Awkward at first, but honestly, just does what his mom did for him, smooth sailing, 10/10
Ace - "hah, I'm the best babysitter in the world, only the coolest kids can handle me. Think you have what it takes?" <- secretly really good with kids but only because he had his big brother as a role model. He also knows now all the tricks his big brother used on kid him so he has some fun being that to himself, as much as a handful as kid self is. 8/10
SAVANNACLAW
Leona - Sees how hopeful his younger self was, knows that Savannaclaw knows better than to fuck with it, leaves his child self in community care and leaves bc he doesn't want to reminded of the love he didn't recieve when he was little 10/10 for looking out for both of their mental health
Ruggie - oh my god he adores younger self, teaches him everything he knows, uses his "adorability" to his advantage, but also uses Leona's cash to buy ingredients for a food his younger self rarely got to try as a treat. Honestly, 10/10
Jack - He's a little awkward around his kid self, asks Leona for advice, gets none, asks Vil for advice, Vil ends up Momming and taking over sorry baby Jack. N/A he didn't give up the child intentionally but he also didn't really get to babysit
OCTAVINELLE
Azul - Oh hell no, like at first its like "look how far of come" but the self loathing immediately takes over again. Kid Azul's only saving "grace" is the tweels who terrify the baby by accident but are actually really soft and caring with him. Azul just makes sure his kid self has something to hide in bc "nobody wants to look at that" 2/10
Jade - Knows What He's Doing, and he's going to treat his kid self as gently as possible because he knows what's coming for him in later years :) 10/10
Floyd - Does fine until the kid cries and then pawns his kid self off to Jade 6/10
SCARABIA
Kalim - He's a big brother, but he's not big brother, you know? He likes to make sure the kid has fun and feels safe but he forgets to take breaks and give him water and oh god now he's on a magic carpet bc child self has to go to the bathroom and they're on the WRONG side of the dorm. Very caring, very loving, a little airheaded. If he takes his attention off him he wanders off. Jamil usually has to step in, but neither of them want him to. 7/10
Jamil - In a similar boat to Leona, but instead of leaving his kid self to someone else, he ends up going off campus with his kid self and lets him beat him in races/video games/ dance offs/ etc. so he can feel like he's the best at something for once. They end up cooking together, and honestly it heals adult Jamil a lot too 10/10
POMEFIORE
Vil - Carries a bit of contempt as well as admiration for his younger self. There is a part of him that wishes things had gone differently. Vil likely ends up keeping his kid self in his room all day, but while they're in there, they do all the things Vil remembers wishing he could do, like throwing a tantrum, finally having his feelings about Neige be validated, making a mess, eating whatever he wants, etc. etc. It's just it takes half the day for him to get to that point, before there's a break through it's almost pure ice on adult Vil's side with his kid self just sitting on the bed. 6/10
Rook - Doesn't want anything to do with his kid self, knows his kid self is self sufficient, tells him to not talk to anyone and leaves him alone. ???/10
Epel - Epel uses his kid self as an excuse to go get messy and dirty and play all day. He WILL blame his kid self for any accidents that may occur inside of Pomefiore. Kid self finds it unfair but funny, but can be bought back with some apple slices with caramel. It's a lot of fun, but a lot of clean up. 8/10
IGNIHYDE
Idia - Blames his younger self for the whole ||Ortho|| thing and uh. Would probably lock him out of his room. Ignores/pretends he doesn't exist. Kid Idia seeing ||Ortho "alive"|| would probably have him breaking down. 0/10
Ortho - .....
DIASOMNIA
Malleus - Can't handle his kid self as much as he insists that he can. Probably does something that accidentally triggers himself (both versions) and Lilia has to take over before there's a major melt down. They do have ice cream together after. 5/10
Lilia + Silver - I'm Waiting, Sorry
Sebek - Doesn't want to take care of his kid self. At first he thinks it's cool but then his kid self is biting everything, asking so many questions, getting close to Malleus without permission, showing off his adorable baby side, and kinda hates big Sebek purely because he has magic "already". (Sebek was canonically a 'late bloomer' with magic). He gets Too Stressed and then also gets more pissed off when Silver seems to do a better job baby sitting, but Lilia runs intervention. uhh. 3/10
hhhhhhhhhh bye Tag list: @fluffle-writes @my-cursed-brain

Callie I fear all the kayaking talk is making me want to watch it.
Where do you suggest I should start? Are there any documentaries? Or a racing calendar? Any fun personalities?
ummmm this one is hard... are you looking for sick stunts or are you looking for like. following the slalom racing community. because they DO overlap ! but its a different vibe for sure. one is a formalized racing series and the other is a buncha adrenaline junkies sending it on the largest rapid youve ever seen looking like a little leaf stuck in a sink of froth. also this sport is crazy niche and i have a hard time recommending personalities because i know some of these guys. like its small. bear with me
if you ARE looking to get into the racing, now is actually a good time because slalom is an olympic sport ! i got little bitches from wnc crawling all over paris rn like weevils. i recommend checking out people like current C1 olympic gold champion from australia JESS FOX and first woman to qualify for all three olympic paddlesports events EVY LIEBFARTH. i have no idea who is competing in the mens because i dont know any of those guys and i dont really care about them ! you can also do the time honored olympic tradition in finding out who was born closest to your specific geographic region and supporting THEM ! but im rooting for evy she owes my dad like $200 and i think thats funny. also i sold her some foam for her boat that im assuming is being used at the olympics which is funny to me. can my boat foam win a gold medal.
sick stunts: dane jackson is kind of objectively the best paddler in the world he wins the nonslalom races every year AND the freestyle championships etc, but my brother has beef with him and hes a nepo baby. like his dad owns a major kayak manufacturer. hes still good though. next its probably aniol serrasoles plus his brother. hilariously my brother ALSO has beef with him (he admits that its mostly his fault bc aniol had a smashed open nose at the time so no one was in a good mood). after that like. nouria newman (yelled at my brother and he deserved it. distinguished lesbian. my au dani pedrosa prototype bc she retired from slalom to do crazy expedition kayaking but still shows up and smashes the more extreme whitewater races a couple times a year. article about her here). ummm ben marr. never met the guy. i would also recommend checking out past green race vids, north fork race vids, the mountain games, and some fun carnage videos if you enjoy watching people flop as much as i do

Hi dear! Just found your blog going through my liked tags, and honestly... fantastic shit. Read everything in your masterlist immediately. Absorbed it like a sponge.
May I please get a ship match up??? 👉👈
I'm transmasc and early 30s. I'm 5'10" in height and I guess "average" build. I'm an Aries and INTP which means I'm Hella stubborn and have opinions on things. I'm also pretty logic minded.
I love nature and being outside. Hikes, fishing, exploring in general are some of my favorite things to do in the warmer weather. I will get excited over finding a cool bug or rock and either try and bring it home or take a billion pictures of it.
When at home I just like to chill with my pets. (One dog, two cats, and four birds.) How we chill varies. Be it snuggles and movies/video games, or getting smothered by them while I read it depends. The only time I really separate myself from them is when I'm trying to do crafts. Embroidery and cats don't mix.
Ummm other silly facts... I used to do dirt track racing as a teen and still love going to the races occasionally. I like most music but pop punk is probably the most popular in my playlists. I've got 2 facial piercings, and I think 7 tattoos. (Two are bad batch tattoos)... I think that's about it.
🧀
HEY COLBY WHAT'S UP FELLOW CHEESE LOVER
I ship you with...
Tech!
Tumblr media
Tech loves being outside with you. Typically, when he finds something he finds interesting, his brothers brush off his fascination and move on, but not you. When he finds a cool insect, you have to look at it. When you give him a cool rock, he might not show a strong outward reaction, but on the inside, he is crying. In fact, you and he have a shared collection of cool rocks and other stuff one of you found outside and wanted to keep. There's even a rock there that Crosshair gave you, but he threatened you with certain death (affectionate) if Hunter or Wrecker were to find out that he participated in the collection of cool rocks. (I want a cool rock from Tech :/)
When you're not out hiking or doing nature surveys, you and he will most likely be out fishing. Tech enjoys fishing because he can cast a line and work on some tinkering while he's waiting for a bite. It's one of his favorite ways to multitask. He even made a makeshift fish finder and attached it to the boat so wherever you happen to be fishing, he can see what's down there and use that information to figure out what bait to use and so forth. Plus, when fish are caught, they can be brought back to Wrecker, who does amazing things with fish. Well, he's an amazing chef in general, but he's especially good with fish.
Even though being outside is fun, sometimes y'all prefer to be inside. Tech was a bit overwhelmed by all of your pets at first (especially since he'd never had a pet before and wasn't entirely sure how to react), but he's since warmed up to them pretty well. One of the cats, especially, really likes him. You'll often find the two of them sitting in Tech's workspace together, with Tech doing his own thing and the cat sleeping right next to him. It makes your heart melt every single time. Seeing your favorite person get along so well with your favorite animals is very meaningful to you, and you couldn't be more grateful for such a caring, like-minded partner like Tech.

Hello!
I saw that on Sky Germany website there is a video of Sebastian at the SailGP. Do you still translate things related to Sebastian Vettel?
Here https://sport.sky.de/artikel/segeln-ex-formel-1-fahrer-sebastian-vettel-feiert-premiere/12925984/34240
Translation coming up!
Okay it's really weird, because most parts of the video don't have sound 🤔
My phone cannot play the video at all, saying it's not available and then I thought my laptop has difficulties with playing sound overall, but the video has got sound, but only the parts where Seb is talking and it sounds like he is answering some kind of questions so there is definitely something missing!
—————————————————
Tumblr media
To sum it up:
Seb is now co-owner of the German SailGP team and was able to take part in a drive around on the German F50-catamaran this weekend at the coast of Los Angeles. The video shows Seb interacting with people, getting on the boat and a little segment of him taking part in the drive. (*all without sound*🥲)
—————————————————
But here are the parts that I could hear (some of which were already in English which I only transcribed. I also did little paragraphs where I suspect new questionshave been asked):
"It was by coincidence obviously. I often heard that there are a lot of similarities between sailing really high class and racing on the track, which I know (*laughs*) probably a lot better (*laughs*), but yeah, then though Thomas, who yeah, was the initiator of the German team, I got into it, I heard about it, learned about it, and yeah, I got more and more hooked. I'm not a sailor myself, yet, so maybe to be, but yeah, that's how it all started. (I) tried windsurfing, that's as close as I got.
Now it's fascinating to see there's a whole nother world that which I said has a lot ofthings in common and yeah, to understand the element of wind is very difficult because you can't grab it.
I think watching now on TV is a lot easier then back in the day, because you've got all the graphics, so you understand actually who is leading, what's going on, you see where the wind is coming and what's most likely to happen. In the end it's all about details and that's what every team seems to be looking for.
Well I think for sure by nature. It's more sustainable, I mean it's powered by nature, so obviously that's very exciting. Once it gets the lift and foils, it's pretty incredible. Also to stand on land and see it is pretty cool.
Well it's still early days. If you look at it, as far as I understand where the team comes from I think it's a big shot. I think we are happy with how the first event went and looking forward to the second one.
Yeah I think for one, the speed. When the boat was up once, everything is suddenly quiet and you can only hear the wind, but then the wind gets stronger and then the maneuvers in the corners, the interaction of the crew, the coordination just beforehand and the start, cause there us not much time left then to speed around the corners. I think you kind of understand more of how everything works together, so that it will work well, if you've driven yourself.
Yeah, I would say I still have the view if an athlete and I think it's incredibly interesting. I think every kind of sport has its charm and if you get into it like today it helps you a lot more to assess it. That the level is very high I think you can see from the outside, how big the boats are and then the speeds added to that, but if you then have the chance to participate/drive in it once, I really enjoyed it, then I think you can get more into the rhythm and understand what exactly is demanded. Its very very physical, you are on edge the whole time, especially with the G forces in the corners and yeah, it's oftentimes hard to explain, even if back then when I talked about racing it was very hard to convey that it's actually really exhausting, and yeah, it's a great sport, really.
Yeah well, my role isn't really that active that I sit in the boat every weekend, steer it and make decisions with them, but rather try to incorporate my experience from theoutside. Especially the teamwork and the all data is something that I worked with extensively within the last years, or was allowed to work with, and be able to bring something to the table there, I think just this inside view, because I think not dependable on the kind of sport you can contribute a lot of experiences and if it helps, all the better.
Ah well, it was great. I didn't know what to expect to be honest. It was really impressive in many ways, first of all the speed on water is you know, a different perception of speed. But then the G forces, the cornering, but also to see the crew, you know communicating to each other, preparing sort of the next move, why you're trying to optimise the current course, yeah. Also you know there's sometimes not much time before you make a decision orbefore you got to make a turn, so that was very impressive to feel it from the inside.
Yeah for sure, it's very different to racing. I mean I did miss my seat belts and my seat, so it was a bit adventurous at the beginning, the changing sides, gotta aim for the little hole to jump into, but yeah, I did get used to that part, but the first couple of times was, I wouldn't say scary, just very very unusual. But yeah, then you get in the groove and obviously I had whole trust in the team surrounding and it was fun to then feel the boat also accelerating, picking up speed, so that was very nice."
—————————————————
Interview, after Seb was just taking a ride on the catamaran:
Person A: "Allright, you're ready? Is everything working?"
B: "Yeah"
A: "Cool! (To Seb:) Okay, if you can look at me: So, what is your first reaction? You actually got to drive and fly the boat! What was it like?"
Seb: "Well it was amazing! I think (it's) very different when you're on the boat than when you are on land, but everything is moving, changing sides is eh, quite a challenge the first time, then you sort of get used to it. Very very impressed by the G force, you were able to pull the boat round the corners, I did not expect that! Yeah, I was wishing for a setabelt to be honest (*laughs*) when cornering, but yeah it was incredible to see how the team interacts with each other, always trying to keep the boat in control and obviously try to make it go as fast as possible, yeah, was impressive."
A: "How was the crossing-the-boat?"
*Switches to German and basically repeats it all*
Seb: "Yeah, I mean I didn't look down, so I just focused on where I needed to end up and also, you know, when you see the corner, the turn coming, I was sometimes a little bit, not panicking, cause I trust them, but thinking 'okay, it's about time! Should J really? Switch? To the other side?' And then obviously they're used to it, doing it in the last second so literally a second before the last turn, the last guy hops in the hole and we got the corner coming, so yeah, good fun, definitely!
Yeah, it was mega! Very different from what I expected, especially the G forces in the corners, you can really let it fly around the corners. But also the speed in general! Just with the wind, when the boat is going up it all gets a little quieter and you only hear the wind that is getting louder and louder. Yeah it was a lot of fun and also seeing how the team works together and always has everything under control, yeah a lot to take in, but it was really good!"

Which of the Rareware games after the Microsoft buyout did you play and what were your thoughts on them?
Let's see... if we can count GBA games, it's:
Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge: Played and finished. The first Banjo game that really hooked me, weirdly enough. I usually hate isometric perspective stuff, especially platformers, so the fact this hooked me so well is pretty special.
SabreWulfe: Charming, I guess, but I never put more than a few hours into this. Strictly fine.
The DKC GBA Ports: Almost all universally bad. They're ugly, washed out, with nasty music and sounds. I still think the SNES versions look great, but this amplifies all the worst parts of their aesthetics. All of the new content (more dialog, new bosses) are awful. It feels like the worst parts of DK64's presentation retroactively applied to games that don't need it. DKC1 GBA is by far the worst because when they scaled the game to the GBA screen they weren't super careful about preserving controls or item placement, so it's like walking through your house after everyone's shifted your furniture around by a couple inches. DKC3 GBA is probably the best, and I may have enjoyed it more than the SNES version.
Viva Pinata: I didn't put tons of time into this. Once it got to the point where getting new pinatas to join your farm (or mate) involved super complex, circumstantial things, I got bored of it because it felt more difficult and luck-based than it needed to be.
It's Mr. Pants!: A strange distraction but I never played it more than one or two times because I barely understood it and it felt overly simple.
Banjo-Pilot: I think I beat it once and it vanished from memory.
Diddy Kong Racing DS: Could have been a really good game but just like with the DKC GBA games, it had this vibe of like... being cheaper and more cutesy than the original. They changed a lot of the vibe and really amplified the "we think this is a game for very young children" tone that was originally a little more ambiguous in the N64 game. And in the case of Diddy Kong Racing, it really didn't need that. They messed with a very good game and made it worse in most aspects. Also the touch and mic stuff feels so dated and awkward now. They took a timeless game and made it very... uh, timeful?
Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts: I am a defender of this game, but only to a point. I'm not in love with the aesthetic but building vehicles and completing missions with them is incredible fun and I love the game's meta sense of humor. Unfortunately I think as you get close to the end of the game it kinda falls apart. The Colosseum and Terrarium of Terror are just too big and boring to navigate. I never finished the game because Terrarium of Terror was such a pain in the ass to get through.
Sea of Thieves: I played this a little when I had a free Game Pass sub a few years ago. I think this was right after the update where Sea of Thieves started getting proper questlines and a real narrative. I tried to solo what I could but it's a very difficult game to solo when you run into other players that are out to kill you. Quests are designed to be slightly random too, so I'd fail a quest, try again, and have completely different stuff to do. About the time friends heard I was struggling and were telling me they'd hop on and help me out, I actually started to develop sea sickness. I never got nauseous, but I did get dizzy, and even when I closed my eyes I could "feel" the motion of my boat rocking back and forth. Which is a shame, because as a terminal sufferer of video game wanderlust, I love the idea of sailing around and exploring islands.
Shoutouts to the Banjo-Kazooie and Perfect Dark remasters on XBLA. I finished those games happily. I even did the 101% clear on Banjo, something I hadn't done in a Rareware game since DKC2.

The revised controls of switch SS is allowing me to enjoy the game a lot more than I did on the wii version. There are so many things this game did well... and then my usual griping
Good:
Story plot is engaging and emotional
Characters are all memorable. Link and zelda are maybe the best versions of themselves but all the side characters are fun too. Groose got such a good side plot that really helped make this game
Flying
Swimming. Actually the controls for things that are usually hard to pull off are very good
Collecting shit. I'm a collecting things gremlin so they gave me a bug net and let me loose on the world
The other races. These sort of count as characters but the non monster surface dwellers are all enjoyable as races
The time stones specifically were fun and implemented in a very smart way, and the boating course was so unique
The beetle. I love my little collecting things control operated robot
Bad:
The map feels so small and repetitive. Realistically I know there's only three main zelda areas but going back to the same place so many times is just boring
The imprisoned. Another thing that repeats, but the character design in the first place was bad. Squishy toes??? This thing has never managed to be scary but it does fill me with dread
There are a few moments when it becomes really obvious they made this game for a new controls system. Combat is improved by the switch but is still fairly eh to me. Dowsing feels like a waste of time
The drop rate on collectable things is really bad. I think they wanted to prevent people from item farming but it's just incredibly disappointing to fight 20 monsters and receive zero item drops
The music. This is partially because they hyped this game up as having great music so I was expecting more from it, but the music was such a let down. Its definitely good in parts but there are a lot of sections i find painfully bad. The electric dungeon is the only time I've ever had to mute a video game before, and every cut scene where they have fi do singing and/or dancing feels like a major mismatch of tone and music
The Hylian shield quest. Unnecessary repetition again

I Like to Move It, Move It - Five Games With the Best Movement
Can’t stay for long, got places to be! Something as simple as just moving around is surprisingly tricky for video games to make enjoyable - it can often be slow, clunky, twitchy, or just boring. Then, there are the games that do it right; whether they introduce unique mechanics, feature a variety of mobility options, or just really nail the basics in a way that feels satisfying. Reaching high speeds for the adrenaline rush, executing a complex manoeuvre a hundred times until it’s second nature, or just roaming around enjoying the feel of exploration - sometimes, the movement alone is the best part. Get a move on with these five games I’ve collected here that feature the best mobility and movement mechanics!
Tumblr media
Spider-Man 2    In a game about everyone’s favourite web-slinging wallcrawler(s), getting Spider-Man’s distinct movement style right is crucial - and Insomniac Games nailed it. Swinging through Manhattan feels incredibly satisfying and realistic as the city whips by you, and the physics of the Spider-Men have real dynamic weight to them so you can build up speed with short rapid swings nearly brushing against the roads or reach the highest rooftops with longer, slower arcs. The sequel introduced web-wings for gliding on the winds, and other new tricks like slingshotting yourself across the city or using abilities in midair to gain height and momentum. Thwipping from one end of the city to the other to chase after criminals or violent mutated scientists gives a huge adrenaline rush; it’s a sign of a perfectly-executed movement system when it’s actually more fun to manually swing around instead of using the slightly-quicker fast-travel points.
Tumblr media
Wavetale    Behold, a game with actually enjoyable water movement. Skating across the ocean surface in a flooded post-apocalyptic shanty town in Wavetale is just as creative as it is fun, building up speed as young Sigrid skims around, diving under and leaping out like a supercharged dolphin, and grappling onto hooks for massive speed boosts. Zooming around the waters from one corner of the map to the other, Sigrid can even outrun boats chugging along as she dodges the creepy shadow monsters threatening the town of Strandville! There’s pipes and funnels dangling above the waves to use as waterslides, launching you across the sea and keeping up your momentum - perfect for the challenging races that put your coordination to the test on lightning fast obstacle courses that snake around the drifting houses and shallow islands. For extra challenge, the game’s gigantic bosses will keep you on your toes as you duck and weave on the waves around their attacks that rain from above.
Tumblr media
Super Mario Odyssey    Mario’s jumping talents get an overhaul in Odyssey, adding loads of fancy new moves and tricks to learn in this sprawling open-world adventure. His new companion, Cappy, allows for stylish leaps and bounces from one end of the kingdom to the other as well as “capturing” just about any creature Mario encounters. Capturing things transforms Mario into the target, granting unique abilities for even more new forms of movement - stretching into the air, blasting over the water, jumping over high obstacles, and dozens of other powers. It’s highly satisfying to master all of Mario’s moves and being able to sprint, roll and dive at Mach speed with perfectly-executed button combos. Speedrunners and players that really learn all the movement techs are rewarded with hidden coins and other goodies stashed away on seemingly impossible to reach areas, accessible only to those able to clear enormous gaps and scale sheer walls with expert timing and coordination.
Tumblr media
Sunset Overdrive    Enter the high-energy “awesome-pocalypse” with a city hand-tailored for jumping, sliding and parkouring all over it. Sunset City has been overrun by the OD - aggressive mutants caused by a radioactive energy drink - and only a small handful of stubborn survivors remain in the locked-down city to enjoy the chaos. In SSOD, the player is constantly on the move from one jump to the other - bounce off that fan into sliding down a powerline into grinding along a handrail into bouncing off a car hood followed by dashing over a slobbering mutant and onto the next fan to bounce off, and repeat in a nigh-infinite chain of possible routes across the city. As you move, you’ll be blasting away at the hordes of OD, earning style points for fighting while performing sick tricks throughout the colourful mayhem. There’s precarious platforming and obstacle courses that take you high into the sky surrounding the tallest towers - don’t look down! The city also features replayable challenges scattered around for those that really want to test their mobility skills, parkouring across the chaotic cityscape as fast as possible.
Tumblr media
DOOM Eternal    In the fiery arenas of DOOM Eternal, movement is key and staying still is death. Double-jumping, dashing, climbing and swinging through the air, Doomguy treats the devastated Earth and the plains of Hell as his own personal playground! The developers compared the movement in Eternal to flying a fighter jet, constantly dashing and weaving through enemies and their attacks - the demons can’t hit what they can’t see. The new Meathook attachment to your trusty Super Shotgun allows you to zip across the battleground, latching onto some poor demon on the other side of the fight and pulling yourself towards it to deliver a face-full of buckshot. Eternal features a higher emphasis on platforming compared to previous DOOM entries, with many levels consisting of winding obstacle courses with combat encounters in-between all the jumping and climbing. Staying on the move as you blast through demons gives a huge adrenaline rush, feeling almost desperately aggressive as one mis-timed dash could be the difference between the demon’s death and your own.
Now that were up to speed on some of the best movement systems in games, which is your favourite? Got any other games that would fit the list? Let me know! Feedback, reblogs and likes are all much appreciated!   Thanks for reading!

How to Make Your Mini Jet Boat Adventures Better
Tumblr media
Spending your day riding your mini jet boat is already a recipe for grand adventures and oodles of fun. However, such enjoyment can always be made better when you plan ahead and bring the right things or choose the right moments. After all, who wants to go out with your mini jet boat, only to be confronted with bad weather or unsuitable circumstances?
To be clear, there is no definitive set of conditions that would make your mini jet boat adventures perfect. Different people have different goals when taking out their mini jet boats for explorations and the like, so it’s really up to the individual what their perfect day would be like.
The only thing that this list will offer is to make those days even better than they promise to be.
Sunny or Cloudy?
If you really want to enjoy your day riding on your mini jet boat, you need to plan ahead and include the type of weather you will be dealing with. In most cases, a sunny day is considered the perfect day to go on a wild ride through meandering waterways or shallow rivers. However, others prefer milder climates where sunburns are less of a possibility.
Either way, checking the weather news or downloading useful apps to monitor how sunny or cloudy your preferred dates will be is highly recommended. This way, you can work around the issue to give you the best chance of actually having a day that works to your advantage.
Now, it’s worth pointing out that no matter how advanced technology has become, there are no guarantees when it comes to predicting the weather on any given day. This is especially the case the further away the day is. With that being the case, it might be worth considering the seasons and making adjustments as the date comes closer.
Lots of Photos and Videos
Tumblr media
These days, there are a lot of options when it comes to preserving moments in all of their varied ways. Back in the day, photos or videos are so limited but this isn’t the case anymore. Taking professional shots of any type is more than possible and they can be protected thanks to advancements in waterproofing technology.
This particular aspect of preparations for making your mini jet boat adventures even better than they already have more to do with what comes after. Due to the numerous nifty features that modern cameras typically have, along with the various movie editing software tools available, the possibilities for creating absolutely epic clips are endless.
You could then send these files to friends and family, or you could share them on social media. The point, however, is that you can preserve all of your efforts in making the perfect mini jet boat day for all time.
These videos or photos might even give you more ideas as to what you could do next time you go out. After all, there are bound to be better locations to record your feats of daring and seeking thrills. Doing so gives another reason to pursue this course of action.
Sports, Games, and More
Tumblr media
While you could just enjoy your day riding your mini jet boat, it never hurts to have more activities to make your day even better. Watersports would be the obvious addition to consider, of course, since mini jet boats are perfect for them. If you are someone who lives for the thrill of defying gravity and speed limits, this is definitely a must.
Then there is the question of other activities like fishing or diving. At the end of the day, mini jet boats are still boats. They can be used as transportation vessels just as easily as they can cut through the surface of the water like a knife through butter.
If you are feeling particularly ambitious, you could also use your mini jet boat to race against others. It doesn’t have to be anything official or too complicated, of course. Bringing flags on floaters that you then spread over a lake would be enough to give you something to compete for. The objective could be navigating those flags and finishing the circuit as fast as possible.
At the end of the day, the choice is yours.

Good morning! I hope you slept well and feel rested? Currently sitting at my desk, in my study, attired only in my blue towelling robe, enjoying my first cuppa of the day. Happy Hump Day!
Some of you look at TMI Tuesday and think, “What the actual f*ck?” Some of you think, “Sod that! Too many words! Don’t have time!” But, some people really love it so, I apologise if it gets on nerves, but there are a few trivia nerds on here that delight in the madness! As I said on Monday, the world is strange and getting stranger by the day!
Yesterday, I saw a video – and maybe you’ve seen this too? – of a young man, a far right racist, speaking in a church in Dunstable. A bloody church! Allegedly, a place of Christian worship? Trust me, there were no Christians in there that night! Just some ignorant fool talking about boat people (again!) The government are absolutely THRILLED that racists are stirring up hate (a.k.a. campaigning for them) because it distracts people from the circus of corruption that has daily performances (and a matinee on Saturday!) Every day, a new scandal is uncovered, but no one is scrutinising the blatant corruption because they’re too obsessed with boat people!
But nothing can quite compare with the insanity in America! Many conservative Americans object to black history being taught in schools. And I totally agree! They should teach white history! Teach the kids about Columbus landing in North America, claiming that he’d discovered it and then massacring millions of Native Americans. Teach them that! And then teach them about boatloads of slaves arriving from Africa and being treated like dirt from Day One. Teach the kids about slavery, the oppression, the discrimination and the senseless brutality of black people, even though they were building America and raising its kids. Yes, teach them white history! Teach them about the Tulsa Race Massacre, Emmett Till, George Stinney and the assassination of good men. American kids deserve to know white history!
Or maybe there is a country more delusional than America? Russia! Yes, our dear friend Vladimir actually told his followers yesterday that Ukraine STARTED the war! You couldn’t make it up!
We have to talk about the weather because it’s so important to our mental well-being (and our heating bill!) Massively relieved to see temperatures reaching as high as 11 degrees! We may even feel the sun poking out from behind the clouds this weekend! What a bloody relief! We’ll be down in Hove this weekend, so we might even get some even warmer sunshine? I shall have my sunnies out and be strutting my funky stuff on the promenade!
Have a wonderful and well-endowed Wednesday. I love you all. Yes, a crazy, bald man loves and cares about you.

is it worth getting baldurs gate 3 early access or should I wait, I really can't decide
I would say if the question’s been weighing on your mind for a while, and you really want to experience Act 1, then yes, Early Access is very much worth buying. The races, classes, character paths and story content currently available gives Act 1 a high replayability, which to me is already worth the $60. BG3′s EA has given me joy that no large-scale RPG’s done in several years. But if you're worried about ruining the purity of experiencing a fully released game vs. getting a sneak preview more so than the game's price tag, there are a few things I'd like to mention which might help you make a decision: 1) Early Access means seeing fundamental changes with each update, which can be exciting! When I bought BG3, Early Access was on patch 4. Over the past year, some characters received appearance or personality makeovers. Lighting, animation and cutscenes have been overhauled. Dialogue has been added, removed, and added back again. There’s a certain fun in the mystery of not knowing what the next patch will bring! But it isn’t fun for everybody. It’s not to say that the full release v1.0 will be the exact same as later versions of the game will be many years from now, but if you’re someone who’d prefer to play the complete, ideal vision Larian Studios has for BG3 as opposed to a heavy work-in-progress, then waiting would be the better option. 2) Early Access also means that if you want to experience each newly released patch, you'll have to leave your previous saves behind. Mods made for previous patches will also be broken, although the modding community for BG3 is very dedicated and quick to update their works, bless them. So if you’re too attached to your characters but want to experience new/updated content, you’ll be frustrated. Thankfully, there will probably only be 1 or 2 more patches before the game leaves EA. 3) Playing early gives you an easy, head start on understanding game mechanics and deciding what race and class interests you most. As someone who’s clocked 300 collective hours into BG3 so far and knew close to nothing about D&D before that, I’m personally thankful for the time to learn up on literally everything. There’s plenty of helpful videos out there (by WolfheartFPS in particular) to acclimate you to lore, spells/attacks and solid character builds if you need them. 4) The target release for v1.0 is planned for 2023. While it’s not set in stone, if you choose to wait for the official release you (hopefully) won’t have much longer to go. On the flip side, if you take your time and play through Act 1 now, your excitement for the launch will multiply tenfold and you’ll burst into candy when the day comes! While not the greatest addition to the list, I’d also mention that I’m at a point in life where delaying gratification is saved only for certain things. If a piece of entertainment looks fun, and it’s available right now, you can bet I’m going for it. (I’m writing this having bought Slime Rancher 2 within the same hour it launched today lmao) If you’re in the same boat, definitely get it now and enjoy it. ✨ @rosewaterhag made very good points about the same topic in her post as well, which I'd highly suggest considering, too. I hope this helps!

the great adventures of y/n tubbo jack niki and wilbur - racing across the sea
requested: yes/no
part 8 of the great adventures series
warning: cursing, anxiety about the sea
ever since the argument you and tubbo had become inseparable, he practically lived with you and your parents at this point, and your community was loving it. everytime one of you would stream, tens of thousands of people would tune into your stream to see what madness was going on and today was no different. the pair of you decided to stream a laugh and the stream ends challenge. safe to say you ended up changing the rules several times, you even made ranboo join the stream so you could have extra lives. not long after the stream ended you, ranboo, and tubbo practically dominated the twitter trending page. today however was tubbos last day at yours and shortly after you ended stream, the pair of you headed out to the train station so you could make sure your best friend made it onto the train safely. after you said your goodbyes, you decided to facetime jack on your way home to discuss vlog ideas, and just to talk to him, as you had been rather busy this past week going over plans with ranboo, tubbo, and all of your parents about the uk trip that was happening pretty soon.
a few days later, it was finally time to go film the vlog. you couldn’t exactly lie, you weren’t exactly looking forward to this, as you were told it had something to do with the sea and boats which oddly enough didn’t mix very well with your fear of the deep sea. you had no idea what’s down there and you didn’t want to find out, but hey at least you’d be with tubbo.
your parents offered to drive you there so you didnt have any additional stress from having to get a train then a taxi, this allowed you to have a pretty quiet journey to meet up with your friends. you sat in the back of the car on facetime with tommy who was the only one who knew about your fear and was rather confused as the why you would agree to do such a thing
“i’ll never understand what goes through your mind, you’ve got this though! you’re going to be completely okay, plus you never know it might help you get over your fear, you did tell me you had been working on getting over it.”
“I suppose you’re right, it can’t be too bad. I mean I love the sea. I just don’t like what’s deep down, you feel me?”
“i understand mate, but you need to remember jack wouldn’t put you in danger. as much as he acts like he would, and even if you do fall off the boat or some how end up in the water, you won’t automatically end up at the bottom of the sea. just try to enjoy yourself, yeah?”
“...yeah”
“call me when you get home you can tell me all about what happened, afterwards we can record a minecraft mod video.”
“of course, boss man.”
“you hang out with tubbo too much, you should hang out with me a lot more.”
the car pulled into the car park and within a minute of the car stopping tubbo was at the window shouting your name.
“right tommy, i should probably go, ill see you later bud!”
you said goodbye to your parents as tubbo opened your car door for you.
“what a gentleman, thank you, tubbo.”
“anything for you, now let’s go. jack began filming the intro and i really want the hat hes wearing.”
“you’re ridiculous.”
he stood with his arms crossed shaking his head, pretending to be offended before walking off with you not far behind him.
you stood with niki and wilbur as tubbo went off filming some of the intro with jack. the three of you stood talking about how you have all been and discussing more plans for your meetup.
“y/n, go control your friend, he’s stealing a hat!”
you ran up behind tubbo and stole the hat from him, putting it on your own head.
“why have you got the hat now?”
“i am now captain!”
“but i wanted to be captain!”
you and tubbo stood arguing back and forth over who was captain, ignoring jack trying to get the pair of you to stop.
“you have 5 seconds to stop arguing or you’re being separated 5...4...3...2...1 right.”
“jack no!”
jack pulled you aside claiming he has something really important to ask you.
“so did you bring something valuable?”
“yeah i did actually, i brought tubbo and the necklace tommy gave me for my birthday last year.”
tubbo overhearing the conversation walked over telling you both that he also brought a valuable item, in fact it was a family heirloom.
“i brought an urn.”
“why would you do that tubbo? what the fuck-“
“you two do realise if either of you lose it had to go in the sea?”
“poor grandma.”
“aye about that you will have to pry that necklace out of my hands in order to throw it in the sea!”
the three of you went up to wilbur and niki where wilbur stole the hat you stole from tubbo, and you were told that you were all about to race to the isle of wight.
it was unfortunately time to board the boat, you sat next to tubbo, so that you felt like you had some sort of control with what was about to happen. the others sat making jokes about what was going on whilst you were trying to get control of your breathing. as you all set sail, you thought you were doing a good job of hiding the fact you were potentially about to have a panic attack as no one seemed to notice, or so you thought. considering the fact tubbo was your best friend, he instantly noticed something was wrong and wrapped an arm around you, and decided that distracting you would be a lot better than making you focus on what was currently happening.
“hey y/n, i have an amazing idea for when ranboos in the uk. a 4 month sleep over.”
“heh?”
before you had time to fully process what was going on, all you could hear was wilbur now claiming to be captain then going on to tell you why portsmouth is called portsmouth. you couldnt help but laugh at the random things he was coming up with since he put the captains hat on.
“that is a cinema..i’ve been in this industry for a while now, isn’t that right?”
it was silent for a while until niki tried to steal the captains hat, but was unfortunately unsuccessful .
“maybe next time niki.”
“thank you for believing in me, y/n.”
you pointed out a castle which ended up with wilbur talking about how the planned executions there .
“are they dead?”
“...tubbo of course they’re dead. what kind of question was that?”
the other boat began getting closer to the boat you were all currently in, indicating that it was almost time for you all to split up into two groups.
“my boat is going much faster.”
“that is a sign of pollution.”
“wow jack you’re polluting the world, i hope you’re happy!”
the ride was pretty chill until jack asked what he had lost in the past.
“past relationships.”
“the love or host.”
“laugh you lose streams.”
“the waterslide races from when we went to the water park.”
you and tubbo continued listening things that jack had lost.
“okay. so i’ve lost a few things.”
jack looked towards the other boat.
“however, you two are about to lose each other.”
“excuse you?”
“no, y/n is mine!”
eventually wilbur had enough and picked tubbo up and took him to the other boat with him.
“TUBBO!”
“Y/N!”
you and niki sat laughing as jack and wilbur bickered about who was going to win the boat race. whilst jack was distracted, you felt niki tap your arm and told you to look over to the other boat where tubbo was reaching his arm out to you so you could quickly swap boats.
you quickly got into the boat and sat next to your best friend, tubbo knew you were still slightly nervous, so made it so you would be sat in between him and wilbur so you would feel a lot more comfortable. a few minutes later, your boat began to set off and all you could hear was a mixture of tubbos laughter and jacks yelling getting quieter the further you went.
“AY THEY CANT START WITHOUT US!. AND THEY GOT Y/N, WHEN DID THEY GET THEM?!”
you turned to face wilbur who pointed towards a building before announcing that it definitely belonged to the the three of you, and was renaming it reddit gold.
“reddit..reddit gold, are you serious?” you said through your laughter, the three of you sat together taking turns narrating what was happening .
“go on, y/n.”
“if this capsizes, were all drowning.”
“cheerful as awful.”
“do you think sharks are beneath us?”
“i’m not even answering that question.”
you looked over your shoulder to see that niki and jack were catching up to you all.
“i hope they don’t overtake us, otherwise it’s bye bye tubbo.”
“and grandma.”
“excuse you, tubbo?”
“he’s claiming that he brought an urn with him and if we lose our valuable item gets chucked into the sea.”
a little while later jacks boat was next to yours and you and wilbur started to shout how it was like romeo and juliet.
“y/n, you studied this at gcse a while back, yell some quotes.”
“tubbo i didn’t listen to the teachers.”
“do it!”
“no!”
wilbur continued to talk to the others whilst you and tubbo sat bickering about William Shakespeare .
“tubbo my favourite character was benvolio and he fucked off halfway through.”
“what do you mean he fucked off?”
“he literally disappeared.”
wilbur was genuinely questioning what he was listening to he slowly turned around and tried to catch your attention; however you were currently in the middle of a debate about why benvolio disappeared, which was that last thing you expected to be doing on the boat. eventually your debate died down and you looked up to see wilbur shaking his head at you both, clearly confused as to why you spent 5 minutes arguing about romeo and juliet. an idea came to wilburs mind as he started laughing and pointing at the sea.
“drink some seawater, tubbo.”
you looked away as tubbo reached into the water trying to hold as much water as he could before bringing it to his lips and drinking the seawater.
“tubbo did you really just-“
“more tubbo!”
tubbo did the same as before, however this time brought his hands towards your face.
“drink it, y/n!”
“yeah, y/n, you can help desalinate it.”
“how wonderful, i’ll pass though.”
tubbo looked at you pretending to be upset and lifted his hands towards you again, this time you gave in and drank some of the water.
“thanks, tubbo, I can now only taste salt.”
jack noticed what you and tubbo were doing and looked at wilbur confused.
“im making them drink seawater!”
“what’s it like?”
“potassium!”
“salt.. a lot of salt!”
you checked your phone as you kept receiving multiple messages from tommy trying to get your attention, forgetting that you were currently on a boat with the others. you looked up from your phone to see tubbo drinking more seawater.
“AGAIN?”
you had no idea what was going on for jack and niki, but it sounded a lot like they lost hope as jack yelled asking if there was room for him on the boat while tubbo sat flipping him off in response to his question. jack continued to yell at the three of you however none of you could hear what he was yelling, so you kind of sat just nodding your head in agreement to what he was saying. wilbur pointed out that he could see the finishing line and how it looked like you were all going to make it. you looked over to see jack and niki recreating that one scene from titanic tubbo looked at you smiling, trying not to laugh.
“absolutely not one of us, if not both of us, would end up in the sea.”
the boat began to go significantly faster. at the start you were unsure how to feel, however a few minutes into it you began laughing enjoying how fast you were going.
“woahhh we’re turning!”
the boat did a loop before going straight on as fast as it could go.
“y/n, tubbo, we’re going. we’re going.”
“OH MY GOD!”
you ended up passing another boat you and tubbo instantly waved to everyone on the boat a few people waved back .
“they don’t wanna wave.”
“they know their boat is bigger than ours.”
“they could easily ram us and kill us all.”
“hopefully they decide against doing that.”
the boat began weaving resulting in you, tubbo, and wilbur constantly crashing into each other, not that any of you cared you were all having the time of your lives. you pointed at a boat which was cutting off the boat jack and niki were in .
“we’ve got this in the bag boys, victory is ours!”
your boat slowed down so it could dock.
“i think we’ve won!”
“we won”!
“holy shit we won! tubbo doesn’t have to go in the sea now!”
everyone got out of the boat so you could all wait for jack and niki to reach the dock, as the two of them approached you all tubbo began to sing.
“we are the champions my friend!”
“STOP IT!”
“i have to go into the fucking water!”
you pulled niki into a hug.
“jack you cruel man.”
“did you not have fun niki..we had a great time.”
you let go of niki and stood behind tubbo placing your head on his shoulder whilst jack explained to wilbur what was going to happen if they lost.
“oh, I thought we got to decide who was thrown into the water.”
“no no no no no no!”
“well i think considering we won..”
after a small discussion as a team, you all instantly agreed that jack should be thrown into the water, you all stood on the boat as niki argued that he cant throw her into the water. a couple seconds later wilbur walks towards jack handing him the camera before picking him up.
“are you ready?”
“i don’t think the bits that funny will, i don’t think the bits that funny!”
you all screamed and laughed as jack was thrown into the water. jack complained about the temperature of the sea as he climbed back onto the boat only to be pushed off again by you and tubbo.
“that’s revenge for trying to put us on separate boats!”
you spent the rest of the day together just hanging together as a group before you said your goodbyes.
the ride back home was you excitedly explaining what your boat ride was like to your parents, once you got home you ran upstairs to your room then called tommy on discord
“how was it then?”
“tommy it was so cool, honestly i wish you could have come with us.”
“i mean you’re coming with me george and wilbur to a water course next week, you don’t have a choice.”
“oh okay, it’s a good job i’d love to be there then, tom, also what mod are we playing just so i can check i have it ready.”
“rlcraft.”
the two of you spent a good hour talking before getting ready to film a video with charlie and jschlatt for tommys youtube channel.

so. Rune Factory 5[a] is a role-playing simulation video game developed by Hakama and published by Marvelous for the Nintendo Switch. It was the first entry in the Rune Factory series since 2012's Rune Factory 4 and was released in Japan in May 2021 and worldwide by Xseed Games in March 2022.
Unlike most of my long posts i’m actually willing to attach a readmore to this because it 1.) is going to be VERY, VERY long, probably, and I don’t want to subject anyone to having to scroll through that and 2.) will have story spoilers. Anyways.
Hi I beat Rune Factory 5 (after. nearly 250 hours of play time <3) and I wanted to write a comprehensive review of it because it’s been nearly a decade since we’ve had a new RF game and I have a lot to say!!! This is gonna be done full pro / con style for like, smaller things and then go into actual depth for what I want to say in full detail.
CONS:
I’m not the first & I won’t be the last person to say this, but Rigbarth is too big!! At least the way they set it up. It’s fun getting to roam around, but there’s so much empty space that the town feels a little empty in places, and there are so many unnecessary areas as a consequence of the size. Like we don’t NEED that beach by the festival plaza, no one uses it. We don’t NEED the lake(?) up north or its associated beach to be that huge. (Honestly, it’s so big I was expecting an underwater dungeon to be there instead of just wasted space. Man that would’ve been stellar)
Stacking is incredibly inconvenient. (This relates to a much larger criticism but I had to bring it up here) Still 9 items max... Still unable to stack food or fish...
Brawling is really badly adjusted to the console proportions and it went from being my favourite weapon style in 3 & 4 to my least-used one because of that </3 Maybe I’m doing it wrong, but you should be able to make contact with your foe 90% of the time when your combo chains into an ultimate attack instead of it constantly launching you into kicking against empty air?
Some of the festivals are really lacklustre. Also we don’t need 4 harvest festivals in a game where you can grow any crop year-round.
Dungeons are too small. Back in my day these things had 4-7 floors!! Not 1-2 floors and then a boss!
The game is a little too easy -- which I understand is a result of them wanting to make story progression more relaxed, but even on Hard Mode it’s still, like, easy.
Furniture placement is kind of frustrating and the fact you can’t put anything against the wall because you need enough space to be able to walk behind something is really annoying. In general I hate the free-roam item placement tbh but that’s just me
Fields get cluttered way too easy. I know it’s so you have a steady stream of materials but :(
This is probably a budget issue and I can’t fault them for that at all but I think that they should’ve done full voice acting for the endgame sequence instead of having some lines voiced and most others just using like, stock voice clips you could hear in any other game interaction
Slight lack of interactivity; people don’t respond if you try to sleep in their bed or if you examine their things when they’re there, which was a cute detail and I miss it. It’s nothing big, but it added a nice touch.
A lot about how Fuuka is handled quite honestly. She’s a sweet character but....
They still haven’t fired the portrait artist guy and I really need them to and replace him immediately with someone who actually knows how to draw adult women
PROS:
The cast is REALLY good. Like, it’s a very fun cast with a lot going on. Rigbarth as a community is easy to get invested in and it’s fun keeping up with characters and seeing all the events for them. Also, Randolph and Yuki invented love and that’s great
Related to that: having a DSC whose main gimmick isn’t just making them a constant food-based fat joke and having that DSC in a game people actually see and play (vs Beatrix, who is in the black sheep game in what is already a niche series) in itself makes Palmo up there as Best Member Of The De Sainte-Coquilles. Like, he’s great as a whole, but it’s nice.
The story as a whole is fun and the end of Act 1 into beginning of Act 2 is imo really strong writing. Also in general I love how they set it up with its premise involving the culmination of 4′s story and the consequences
Despite not liking it for Rigbarth itself, how big the map is is a bonus IMO for the rest of the world. It’s fun romping around in free roam & it gives me way more reason to actually take my monsters along for ride purposes
Events are actually like, easy to access. Even at the consequence of maybe accidentally activating multiple in a row, I’d take that any day over taking a literal Real Life year to get married in RF4 because of how bad my event luck was.
Fake vegetables are the best monsters this series has EVER added. Ever. (Also I love the frogs so much)
Meteor showers and starfall crops are a really cute mechanic! I wish we could do more with them (like ask someone to watch the meteors with you on the day of a shower) but they’re so cute
The music is FANTASTIC. Like this is a given for any RF game but the music is really good. Also the OST that came with the bonus edition having remixes of the tracks is great. Have you all listened to it? You should.
Cloudheim. “Is that it?” Yeah i just really like Cloudheim
The outfits are so cute!! Even outside the DLC ones the options are adorable & I love how everyone has unique PJs and swimsuits. Now in RF6 we need seasonal outfits for everyone like what Harvest Moon did in ToT & AP. Or people outside of romanceables finally also getting PJs or something. Or both
Even if they’re too short the dungeons have really great designs & the later ones have fun puzzles and / or obstacles to them. Forest of No Return i have feelings for you. Eternal Darkness i have feelings for you too i have never enjoyed being inconvenienced this much
Game has what if a really overall cozy vibe to it, it hit that great Rune Factory feel that the previous games had and it’s easy to settle into
So, with all that out of the way: let me say that as a whole I liked RF5. I really, really, really liked RF5. Like, it’s probably #2 in my top 3 RF games now (with that top 3 now being Oceans > 5 > Frontier). I like the console games, what can I say! It was a really solid game overall, with fun farming, fun combat (for the most part; despite having to give up on brawling, this is the first time I’ve ever actually enjoyed the longswords), a fun story, and a really fun cast. This is 100% my favourite RF cast now and even despite my complaints about town size, I liked Rigbarth and I love the community.
My biggest criticism, though, is what I alluded to when I complained about stacking limitations: that this game takes after RF4 a lot more than it should in several places. I’m not going to fault the developers for making it resemble RF4; it’s the first game in around a decade and RF4 is the most popular in the series, of course it’s going to take after it. But as a fan of the console games, I really do think they should’ve looked more at Frontier & Oceans for certain things (at the very least: town layout and spacing, because of how nice Trampoli & Fenith but especially Trampoli are to traverse and also especially because of how gorgeous RFF looked for a Wii game), and given RF5 a little bit more of its own identity. Like the stacking. While the 9-stack limit might’ve fit better for the DS and 3DS with smaller space limitations (or maybe those didn’t need that either considering Harvest Moon game stack sizes who knows!), Frontier & Oceans had 99 item stacks. AND you could stack food & fish. (Fish / food stacking was also, notably, in 3. 4 probably removed them to pad out artificial space necessities to get you to use more royalty points. 5 didn’t need this limit, even with the same point system. Like, at all.) Or the 2x2 fields instead of the 3x3. I hated that in 4 and I hate it here. Why do you have 2x2 fields if you’re going to implement a 9-item stack. That just makes things incredibly awkward when you’re trying to lay down seeds and instead of one stack being a patch of 9 being two patches of 4 and also one awkward leftover.
That’s just two examples, though. There’s also using the same weapons & crafting items (back in my day [the Wii games] the cat ears accessory was an actual pair of cat ears, not whatever those ugly Palm cat ears are!!!!!!), the ability to pick furniture up and move it around willy-nilly as opposed to having one set spot for things like cooking tools & the shipping bin + watering hole (which honestly makes these things look kind of bad and out of place and is enjoyed by no one based on how many complaints the furniture system across 4 + 5 has gathered), the festivals being largely the same (and lacklustre because of it).... I think they shouldn’t have leaned on RF4 so heavily even if again, I 100% understand why they did and I won’t fault them for it. Like I said it already, but we don’t NEED four entire harvest festivals in a game where you can grow any crop no matter the season (and where seasonal dungeon farms have been removed) just because RF4 had that. That’s 3 festival spaces that could’ve been taken up by something more unique. Frontier, for example, had some really good and unique festivals -- the Bianca-centric one where you have to keep getting her what she requests, the boat race that takes advantage of Frontier’s gondola system, the Coming of Age scavenger hunt, the watermelon smashing minigame on Beach Day instead of just making it a wasted festival where nothing happens except Now  You Can Go To The Beach!, the Hot Pot festival (which RF5 should’ve also had instead of the Winter Harvest Festival because the guys’ convo in it is literally about Making hotpot)... then Oceans had the seasonal lotteries, the Lantern Festival (where you would set a little boat onto the ocean to honour sailors who’d fallen at sea iirc and make a wish), the warrior fest where you have to fell training dummies and you have to actually be careful with your weapon of choice because you have to avoid hitting certain ones, the fashion contest where instead of just judging a single accessory you make like the Handicraft contest your entire outfit that you’re actually like, Wearing is graded...  Et cetera et cetera you get the picture I think it could’ve been improved by having its own unique festivals that cater to Rigbarth’s unique properties as a town instead of mostly using the RF4 festivals and throwing a few new minigames in. Like there’s a town mini event where Simone talks about how the local pond used to be revered as a holy place because of a legend that its waters cured a dying village of a plague, and that Rigbarth grew from that village because people kept coming to use its waters. A festival to honour that legend and the fairy that blessed the pond would’ve been a fun one! Or a mystery festival run by Terry & Cecil that works like a scavenger hunt where you have to find clues around town and try to find a prize before everyone else. Or a festival of thanks dedicated to the farm dragons. I think instead of utilizing the Directive system for this, there should’ve just like, been these festivals and you can unlock new ones by having certain things done or talking to certain people (like how having Bianca unlocks the DSC festival, or talking to Stella after beating Frontier unlocks a quest to get a new festival that honours Whale Island and the spirits it harbours.) They could’ve used this to like, on that note, create a festival about the light & shadow dragons by bringing up the legends of them without revealing just Who said dragons are...
Anyways that’s my biggest criticism and despite how much I wrote about it, I understand why they did it (it’s just a shame) and it didn’t take away from my enjoyment of the game. Which was a lot of enjoyment. Actually can I talk about the cast here for a sec on that note because I was about to comment again that I love them -- I don’t get why people are saying they’re bland or that Rigbarth doesn’t feel like a community (because I’ve seen many criticisms that match up with this and I don’t... I don’t get it.) Like, not only are they a cast full of life and personality and also everyone has something at least a little bit wrong with them in a good way, the town & character events do a very good job of making people interact outside of their typical circles like with the group playing Hide & Seek in Fuuka’s 3rd event (that being Lucy, Ryker, Reinhard, Fuuka, and Alice / Ares) being a group you wouldn’t expect to interact normally, or Reinhard and Martin having an established friendship based on Cecil’s 3rd event of all places (as well as Reinhard’s own 3rd event), or Lucas doing his magic tricks for everyone, or Livia and Yuki teasing Darroch because they pretty much watched him grow up... Even outside that, they also mention each other in dialogue, like Randolph’s comments about how everyone shops differently (his line about Cecil buying fruit sandwiches when he needs more vegetables, how Reinhard never buys the same thing twice, how Beatrice insisted he overstuff his sandwiches and they did in fact sell better that way), Elsje + Simone + Misasagi talking about each other, Palmo mentioning that Ryker got huffy because he complimented Martin and Cecil, Ryker & Martin bitching about each other, etc. I think they have a great sense of community idgi
Also on that note of having a sense of community I think it integrated itself into the story well (which is related to my earlier PRO of how I think the end of act 1 and beginning of act 2 was really strong writing). To cover that quick: it’s when the protagonist quits their work as a ranger because they find out that, while SEED does good work on an individual scale and the entirety of Norad essentially relies on it, it was created entirely with corruption in mind and created that reliability by lying to the people because the Warden & other higher ups reached out to bandits that had taken advantage of the fall of the Sechs Empire to create chaos and made under-the-table deals with them to let them still operate behind the scenes but would SEEMINGLY be caught, and anyone who didn’t comply would be caught for real or sold out by their allies. This false sense of justice on a grand scale is what led to the country trusting in SEED and nobody is happy about it after getting told by Livia about it, so Scarlett has a breakdown and Alice / Ares quits. Which, while thinking it’s just a vacation, the entire town comments on and offers their support and encouragement. When Terry invites them to work for him, everyone is supportive again (and Cecil absolutely over the moon), and when they decide to rejoin SEED for the sake of overthrowing the Warden, everyone is once again supportive. It’s a nice detail, and it starts off the act well with the protagonist’s like, legitimate moral quandary. Like they lost their memories and this ranger base took them in and they like what they do for the people of Rigbarth only to find out that my god there’s something wrong with this and it’s rotten to the core and they can’t even let anyone know because too much is reliant on it at this point. Really good storytelling imo. The story kind of slips at the end (not because of the Fathomless Dread or anything, I actually thought that was interesting as was the reveal of two extra dragon gods because they’re essentially like, forgotten gods that were lesser than the main 4 to begin with so nobody really remembers them in legends unless people that REALLY DIG for the info like Gideon), but because the way they set it up with the dread it kind of takes some responsibility away from Gideon and I hate when stories do that. Like PKMN Sun / Moon trying to make Lusamine redeemable by setting up her actions as a byproduct of her exposure to Nihilego, RF5 trying to present it as Gideon initially having good intentions and getting influenced by the Dread instead of like, seeking it out of his own volition at the very least sucked. Although they did establish that it fed only on what already existed -- his own pride and greed and desire to make the world bend to his will for the sake of his “justice,” which is what created SEED to begin with, so it doesn’t suck as bad as some other uses of this kind of thing, but it’s still a media trope I don’t like. I LOVED Calamity’s Edge, though. It really reminded me of Frontier (as did his overall plans, speech, etc. there). Reminded me a lot of Gelwein, which is fun because Gelwein is my favourite RF antagonist. Not in an I-like-him way, but like, I love when the RF series dives further into the mechanics of the runes and what you can do with them bc it’s great worldbuilding so I loved RFF establishing the rune studies and experimentation with Gelwein (and also the fun little detail of rune orbs being black if you grow crops in the Snow Ruins because of the runes there being corrupted and fucked up due to it being a former laboratory or whatever) and I loved 5 going further into that with Gideon’s fucking around with rune science.
Anyways. Like 5 separate essays later. I had my criticisms regarding it and I wish some things were handled a bit (or in Fuuka’s case a lot) differently, but overall I’m just really happy to have another RF game again, I’m not going to hold 5 to unfair expectations because I understand the situation the series is in considering Neverland went bankrupt and we thought RF just. Died out. (and also because I’m sick of people comparing it to 4 to throw it under the bus when it has plenty of its own merits, 4 was made at a series high point vs this being the revival of a dead series, and also I feel like a lot of the people making these complaints would really hate to try like, any other RF game based on the specific complaints I’ve seen people make) ((like yes I criticized how it takes after 4, but that’s not a comparison between it that’s just me saying I Get why it did things but I do wish it had more of its own unique identity. I still ended up preferring it to 4 in the end too so like. lol!)) But I really enjoyed it and I still have PLENTY of playtime left not just because I have yet to get married but also because I have plans already to do an Ares file for the sake of hearing the JPN voices and also for harassing Reinhard even more than I already do. 10/10 loved this game would play again

Bucky Barnes x Reader
Warning: angst/fluff.
a/n: GIF requested by @captain-pikas-world . I haven't written much since my dad passed in December. This is my attempt to get back into it. Hope you enjoy.
Tumblr media
The air is heavy, it always feels heavy to Bucky as he steps out into the world. Every time, his breath is slacked with nerves trapped at the tip of his tongue. He eases towards the crowd of people, everyone gathering near the lake. His eyes moves around to each face, his instinct is to look for Sam. His best friend now, the person who has pushed him further than he thought he could go. It would be a lie to say the pair had an easy start, it was rough but like the leaves underneath his boots – they were able to snap into something new. New pieces of who they are after Steve's departure, and Bucky was the first to admit, it works. Everything therapy and Sam has taught him, along with his own self reflection, has helped. In the mirror, each morning, he sees something new. A mixture of his old self and who is he now – he actually smiles now. Yet, he knows something has not entirely come back – the ease of being around a woman he adores.
His eyes finally land on Sam, but they only are on the man for a few seconds before making there way to you. Where you are standing next to his friend, the two of you facing the lake. Bucky's heart starts to race as he forces himself to move forward, feeling ridiculous that one single person was making him stumble over his steps. Of all the things he has gone through, this was what was going to give him a heart attack. Muttering to himself that he was being stupid, he reaches Sam's side with a slight smile.
“Sorry I'm late,” he apologies and you turn to him. His throat clenches as you smile and point out to the lake.
“Sam was thinking we could charter a boat for the day, what do you think? Was Steve a fishing type?”
Right,  Bucky thought to himself. The day was about celebrating the one common factor in your friendship – Steve Rogers.
“We went fishing a few times, but neither of us were exactly fishermen.”
“Or men,” Sam snorts and you laugh.
“Ah, well, it's the thought that counts, right?”
Bucky grins finally, eyes entirely on you. He nods lightly. “Yeah, that's all that counts.”
Sam's facial expression changes and suddenly he's declaring that he was going to go see about a boat near the dock station. You wave him off and ask Bucky to help with the poles and supplies from the car. The two of you walk in silence through the crowd, it was a national holiday so the lake was a little crowded.
“Maybe we should have come a different day,” you sigh, unlocking your car. Bucky agrees, but opens the trunk and gives you a small nudge.
“Your idea is great, it's going to be great.”
His reassurances turns your stomach warm, the sun bearing down on your skin as he hands over the poles. “Take these and I'll get the rest.”
Effortlessly, Bucky gathers all the supplies for the boat, including an oversize ice chest and asks you if you were ready. You feel anxious as he walks at your side, wondering out loud if Sam was able to secure a boat for the day. There is a handful of boats already out on the lake, so the prospects were looking bad as the two of you caught up to Sam. Yet, he is all smiles, tossing up keys in the air, catching them with a smirk.
“Great, he's going to gloat all day about this.”
“Maybe being on a boat with the two of you was a bad idea,” you tease.
Bucky laughs. “Too late now.”
“I'm steering,” Sam declares, although neither Bucky or you even knew how. “I'm Captain on and off land, so let's go.”
The boat is nice, large enough for a handful of people. It only takes about twenty minutes to leave the dock, after getting settled and making sure everything was accounted for. Sam takes to the wheel and whistles when the engine comes on, Bucky rolls his eyes but the smile on his face is clear as the day. You sit across from him as Sam takes the boat out into the middle of the lake. Bucky catches your eyes several times, always looking down at his lap with a bashful expression. You try to not overthink his looks and just enjoy the ride of it all. When Sam is finally satisfied with the perfect spot, the three of you gather in the middle of the boat with drinks in hand.
“To Steve, if it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have either of you in my life,” Sam proposes, nodding his head to Bucky and you. “Now whether that is a good or bad thing is up for interpretation.”
“Jackass,” Bucky mutters, but you laugh, like you always do. It's a simple, telling laugh that clutches Bucky by the heart each time he hears it. A laugh that eases him in any situation, a laugh he misses at night when he is alone in his apartment.
“To Steve,” you declare, holding up your beer. The two men follow suit and you allow Sam one sip before taking it away. He obliges and lets you, finishing it off. The men applaud you, even though you apologize for the small burp that comes out of your mouth.
“It's fine,” Bucky smiles, taking the empty can from you. “It's kind of cute.”
Sam's eyes widen and he claps his hands together. “I'm going to check on the wheel real quick, make sure everything is good. Then we eat, I made some bomb ass sandwiches.”
Bucky tries to ignore the wink Sam gives him before making himself scarce. He's almost too afraid to glance your way as you sit back down. He manages to take his seat, quickly stealing a look at you. His heart races as your eyes stare back, his face tightens.
“I miss him,” you whisper and Bucky immediately understands.
“Yeah, I miss the punk too.”
Looking down at the beer can in your hand, you sigh. “He really just went and made a life for himself. You knew, didn't you? Sam didn't. I didn't.”
Bucky's eyes move down to his lap, his throat warm as he nods. “He told me his plan and who was I to stop him? I couldn't do that to him. Sam and you, you were his closes friends – he...he didn't want to hurt you two.”
“I understand, but can I ask you something?”
“Of course.”
“Why didn't you go back?”
Everything seems to go quiet as the question touches Bucky's ears. This was a question no one ever thought to ask. A question he has asked himself plenty of times until he was finally able to gather an answer – an answer he never had a reason to say out loud. He opens his mouth, but his chance is interrupted by Sam's reappearance.
“Whose hungry?”
The food is delicious, the three of you sit around and eat for the next hour. The air is fresh as each of you take turns telling a Steve story, the boat is flooded with laughter as the tales are told. Bucky takes to recalling old days, Sam brings up the time Steve took him to a ball game, and you mention all the failed attempts at getting Steve a date. The afternoon slowly turns into a soft evening as fireworks light up the lake. The screams of delight fill the air as Sam, Bucky, and you stand side by side. The boat rocks gently, causes you to stumble into Bucky. He grins and takes a hold of your shoulder with his hand, as Sam claps and hollers at the light show. He is not paying attention to his friends, instead he's taking video on his cell for Sarah and his nephews.
“Are you okay?”
“Metaphorically or in the moment?”
Bucky's face softens and whispers, “In the moment.”
You ignore the booms of the fireworks surrounding the lake, instead focusing on the weight of his fingers on your shoulder. “I'm good, you?”
Slowly, his smile fades and he glances over to Sam. He is either to busy recording the show or is trying to be a good friend by pretending nothing is happening between his friends. Bucky looks back at you and sighs. “I have an answer to your question. I – I thought about this a lot. I want to tell you.”
Bucky's eyes seem vulnerable and it is something you do not take lightly. Having know him for years now, you always have made sure to take things at his pace. Your friendship was what you had always offered to Bucky, because that was what he needed after Steve left. Yet, love slowly crept its way into your heart a few years back. Sam was the only person aware, his encouraging words were always a blessed curse, because what if the feelings were not mutual?
Losing Bucky, after losing Steve, would only hurt more.
“Tell me,” you whisper back, heart racing.
He looks up at the sky, for encouragement before laying his eyes on you. “Steve, he had something to go back to. At the end of the day, he was still that boy from Brooklyn. I wasn't, I wasn't the same, after everything, going back – going back would have been torture. I had to settle things here and going back would have been running away. That's why I couldn't go with him.”
You stare at him as his hand slips from your shoulder, but before it could reach his side, you take it. His hand is warm as you hold onto it tightly, struggling to get the words out. Holding onto his hand as the fireworks explode into the sky, the colors reflecting in Bucky's eyes. It was obscene, the look in his eyes as you felt his thumb across your skin. It was a look of something more than lust, it was fate.
“You've atoned, Bucky. You are a free man, this world belongs to you.”
His eyes close for a moment, heart racing as the feeling of something new bursts colors into his insides. All the atonement, the self reflection had gotten him here – on a boat with his best friend and the woman of his life. This, it felt, was what it was all  about.
The torture, the self hatred, the loneliness.
Bucky was truly free now.
All that is left, the last thing on his list, is you.
Looking over to Sam, he chuckles when he realizes his friend has once again disappears. Grinning, Bucky squeezes your hand before gently pulling you towards him. Your hand falls on his chest and he reaches up to touch the side of your face. Your heart is racing, as his is. The two of you can not manage a single world, but as the fireworks illuminate the sky in a grand finale, he kisses you on the lips.

Tumblr media
In the middle of the night
She was half asleep on her bed, Youtube videos playing on her laptop, when she heard knocks on her window. She was home alone, she could feel fear creeping up and decided to not move, waiting for it to leave. But then she heard her name.
«Y/N, please open up...»
She sat up in her bed, turning her bedside lamp on to see JJ's figure behind the window. Wondering what he's doing here in the middle of the night, she gets up and walks towards him and opens the window.
«What a...» she starts before noticing the cuts and the bruises on his face.
She steps aside to give him room to get in. JJ doesn't even have the time to stand straight that she engulfs him in a tight hug. He hugs her back, letting his head fall in the crook of her neck while she caresses the back of his head.
After a while she leans back and takes his face between her hands and looks straight in his eyes.
«Did he do that?»
JJ just closes his eyes with a frown and nods.
«Fucking asshole...» she breathes out, checking him out for other wounds, but all she could see was dried blood, dirt and sweat. « Would you like to clean up or, uh, take a shower before I patch you up?
- I won’t say no to a shower. »
She leads him to the bathroom and gives him a clean towel.
«I’m gonna get you some of my dad’s clothes to change, I’ll be right back!
- Thank you. »
When she comes back, JJ is standing in the middle of the room in his underwear. It’s not like she’s never seen him shirtless, they spent their free time on a boat or surfing but she can’t help and stare a little making him smirks. She puts the t-shirt and pairs of sport shorts on the counter, blushing.
«Just call me when you’re done.» She smiles and leaves the room.
She goes back to her room, freaking out a little due to all the emotions she felt in the past 10 minutes and her non-helping crush on the blond boy currently showering in her bathroom. She closes her laptop, stopping whatever video that was still on and tidies her room to calm her nerves.
«Are you okay Y/N?»
She jumps and turns around to see JJ in her doorframe, looking at her concerned.
«Yeah, yeah, I’m fine.
- I’m sorry I shouldn’t have come...
- No, everything’s fine JJ! It surely is not how I expected my Saturday night to go, but I rather have you waking me up in the middle of the night than you staying with your dad completely wrecked. Now, come here!»
She takes his hand and walks to the bathroom where she makes him sit on the toilet while she goes and takes the first-aid kit. While she puts some cream on the small cuts and bruises and band-aids on the bigger cuts, she can feel his gaze on her which makes her heart beats faster. It’s not the first she takes care of him after a fight, but tonight, being so close to him makes her kind of troubled, feeling the warmth radiating from his body lits her body on fire.
«All done! As good as... almost new! » They both laugh.
«Thank you Y/N, really.
- You’re very welcome. »
JJ stands up, hovering her small frame. They lock eyes before she steps back, blushing even more.
« Do- Do you wanna eat or drink something?» she asks, washing her hands.
«A beer sounds good!
- JJ...
- I’m kidding! Just some water please. »
She comes back to her room with two glasses of water and sees JJ sat on her bed against the headboard. She gives him one glass and sits next to him. They stay silent for a while, watching the trees slowly moving in the moonlight.
«Do you... want to talk about it?
- Not really, no... » JJ replies, shaking his head. « I just want to sleep... »
And with that he sets his glass on the floor and lay down next to Y/N. She follows his actions and turns the light off, her heart racing to the thought of JJ sleeping in her bed next to her.
«Um... Are you going to be in trouble?
- What for? » she turns on her side to look at him, already looking at her.
«Letting me in...
- JJ... My dad is not your biggest fan, but he cares about you enough not to leave you on the streets when you need help. Everything’s gonna be okay. »
He closes his eyes with a small sigh of relief, and she can’t help herself to caress his hair glowing in the silver light. When she realises she goes to take her hand off but he takes it in his own and presses it against his cheek with a smile.
«Can I ask you a question?» she whispers after a moment.
«Shoot.
- Why’d you come here? The chateau or even Pope’s is closer. Why did you cross half of the cut in your state? »
He shuffles a bit, getting closer to the girl. He opens his eyes and bits his lips, debating if he should tell the whole truth or come up with a lie like he has the secret.
«To be completely honest... I- I wanted to see you. When I was fighting with my dad, I could only think about seeing you again... I like you, Y/N. A lot. You’re the only thing that keeps me going. And I just want to be with you. »
She doesn't need more to bring him in a tight hug.
«I like you too JJ. So much. »
He smiles and holds her a little bit closer. As they break the hug, he leans in until their noses touch, savouring the moment, the closeness. But she cannot wait any longer and kisses him like her life depends on it. After a long and passionate kiss, they pull away and look into each other’s eyes smiling.
«And there goes the no pogue on pogue macking rule out the window.
- As if I’ve ever followed a rule!
- True! » she laughs and kisses him again.
