2Way Tour Guide System
In a world where efficient communication is critical for both large and small group tours, the 2-way tour guide system has revolutionized the way guides and participants interact. Unlike traditional one-way systems, where only the guide speaks, a 2-way system allows for real-time dialogue, enabling participants to ask questions, provide feedback, or engage in discussions during the tour. This blog explores the features, benefits, and diverse applications of 2-way tour guide systems, showing why they are becoming the go-to solution for tours, corporate training, and guided events.
What is a 2-Way Tour Guide System?
Tumblr media
A 2-way tour guide system is a wireless communication setup that allows both the guide and the participants to communicate with each other. It consists of a transmitter and microphone for the guide, as well as headsets or earpieces equipped with built-in microphones for participants. This two-way audio system fosters more interactive and personalized tours, allowing the guide to maintain full control while encouraging questions, conversations, and active participation from the group.
Key Features of a 2-Way Tour Guide System
Bidirectional Communication The most distinguishing feature of a 2-way system is its ability to facilitate communication in both directions. Participants can engage directly with the guide without interrupting the flow of the tour, creating a more interactive and immersive experience.
Hands-Free Operation Both guides and participants can enjoy hands-free communication, which means they don’t need to hold any devices while interacting. Guides typically wear a headset or clip-on microphone, while participants use headsets or earpieces with built-in microphones.
Wireless Connectivity Like traditional tour guide systems, 2-way systems use wireless technology for seamless communication over long distances. The absence of cables allows for greater mobility, making it easier to conduct tours in large venues or outdoor settings.
Clear and Reliable Audio Quality These systems are designed to provide crystal-clear audio, even in noisy environments. This is especially useful for outdoor tours or industrial sites, where background noise can make it difficult for participants to hear the guide clearly.
Group Management Features Many 2-way systems come with group management functionalities, allowing the guide to control who can speak and when. This ensures that the tour remains organized, preventing multiple people from talking over each other.
Range and Battery Life With ranges extending over hundreds of meters, 2-way tour guide systems are effective in expansive environments such as factories, museums, or outdoor tours. Additionally, the systems are powered by rechargeable batteries that offer extended usage time, often lasting an entire day of touring.
Customizable Channels Many systems provide multiple channels, allowing guides to switch between different groups without interference. This is particularly useful for larger events where multiple groups may be operating simultaneously within the same vicinity.
Benefits of Using a 2-Way Tour Guide System
1. Interactive and Engaging Tours
The primary advantage of a 2-way tour guide system is that it allows participants to actively engage with the guide. Instead of passively listening to a monologue, participants can ask questions, offer feedback, or clarify points in real-time. This interaction increases participant engagement and makes the tour more dynamic and educational.
2. Enhanced Learning Experience
In educational or training settings, two-way communication encourages better learning. Whether it’s a museum tour, a university campus visit, or a corporate training session, participants can ask questions as they arise, fostering a better understanding of the material being presented.
3. Improved Safety and Coordination
For tours that take place in industrial settings or large, outdoor areas, safety is a major concern. The 2-way system allows participants to communicate immediately if they encounter an issue or need help, ensuring that the guide can address safety concerns in real-time. Additionally, it helps in keeping the group coordinated, especially when spread out over large areas.
4. Personalized Attention
Participants feel more valued and connected when they can engage directly with the guide. This personalization makes the experience more enjoyable, as each person’s individual needs and interests can be addressed, whether it’s asking a question or making a comment.
5. Efficient Group Management
The ability to control group dynamics ensures that everyone gets a chance to speak without overwhelming the guide or disrupting the tour. Group management settings allow the guide to moderate the conversation, ensuring an organized flow of dialogue.
6. Flexibility for Different Tour Sizes
2-way systems can be scaled up or down depending on the group size. Whether you’re guiding a small group through a quiet museum or managing a large corporate team through a noisy factory, the system adapts to your needs, ensuring that all participants can communicate effectively.
Applications of 2-Way Tour Guide Systems
1. Museum and Gallery Tours
In museums or art galleries, where quiet environments are typically required, the 2-way system allows participants to ask questions without needing to raise their voice or disrupt other visitors. This provides a more intimate and interactive tour experience.
2. Factory and Industrial Tours
Factories and industrial sites often have high levels of ambient noise, making communication difficult. A 2-way tour guide system allows participants to hear safety instructions clearly and provides a means for participants to ask questions or voice concerns without needing to shout or approach the guide directly.
3. Educational Field Trips
Field trips for students or corporate training sessions benefit greatly from two-way communication, allowing participants to ask questions on the go. This real-time interaction enhances learning and ensures that important information is communicated clearly.
4. Corporate Site Visits
Corporate clients or VIP guests visiting a factory or business headquarters may require a more customized tour experience. With a 2-way system, guides can provide tailored explanations, and clients can ask questions or request additional details, making the visit more informative and engaging.
5. Outdoor Tours
For outdoor activities such as historical walking tours or nature excursions, a 2-way system allows guides to communicate over long distances, ensuring that everyone remains connected, even when spread out. Participants can ask questions about landmarks or wildlife in real-time, making the experience more interactive.
6. Conference and Trade Show Presentations
At conferences or trade shows, where large groups may be present, a 2-way system ensures that participants can interact with the speaker or guide without shouting or competing for attention. This makes product demonstrations or guided presentations more engaging and informative.
Conclusion
The 2-way tour guide system is an invaluable tool for enhancing communication, engagement, and learning in a wide variety of group settings. Whether guiding tourists, training employees, or educating students, the ability to foster real-time interaction between the guide and participants adds a new dimension to tours and presentations. With features like wireless connectivity, clear audio transmission, and flexible group management, these systems ensure that every participant feels heard and connected throughout the experience.
Investing in a 2-way tour guide system not only improves the overall quality of communication but also enhances the professionalism of your tours, training sessions, or corporate events. It turns a simple tour into an interactive, engaging, and personalized experience for all involved.

Dominos (Part 2 of The Prophecy) - Paul Lahote x reader
Could technically be read as a stand-alone!
I'm so sorry for the long wait for this, I simply could not figure out what I wanted to do. Also, the two OC characters are simply random and are just there as space fillers (but I did choose the name Evan from 911 #wewillgetbuddie). P.S. This has a lot of dialogue and I don't know how to properly write dialogue so oopsie.
My present to all of you for hitting 200 followers!!
Always enjoy, I hope this lived up to all your expectations!
----------------
It hurt for a long time.
It felt like you were drowning and that you were never going to be able to surface. Life was moving in slow motion, as you grappled with the sudden change in your life.
You lost everything.
Everything important to you was gone. Your friends, your support system, the man who you loved. People tried to reach out at first. Emily and Kim called you every day for weeks, but after a while, the calls stopped coming. Embry and Quil both texted you, checking to see how you were doing and if they could help anyway, but like the calls you ignored the texts.
You felt pathetic.
They all felt bad for you and you know it. They knew how in love you were with Paul and they were all witnesses to the tragic ending. And you hated it.
Hated how people would look at you. You felt that you couldn't go anywhere without someone looking at you with sympathy in their eyes. And you could only take that for so long.
So after months of hiding in your bedroom and wallowing in your despair, you decided to make a change. You were going to do something for yourself. Something that was going to be hard, one of the hardest decisions you had ever had to make.
You found an apartment 250 miles away. Growing up you had made the almost five-hour car ride to Portland, Oregon a couple times a year, so you knew that you liked the city well enough. It was a massive change, going from small-town living to city life. But it's what you need. Being somewhere where no one knew you, where no one knew about the unnatural life that the people of the tribe lived. It was your chance to live a normal life.
--------------
Normal life suited you well.
The move had been hard at first, you left behind your parents and the few friends outside of the pack that had still been in contact with. It took a while for you to start feeling like yourself again. But that's because you didn't know who you were without Paul. Moving to Portland was a chance for you to find who you were.
Six months after you moved you experienced your very own meet cute.
It happened at work, you had blindly reached out to hit the button for the elevator when your hand met someone else's. Quickly your phone was away from your face and you looked up and swore you almost swooned.
His name was Evan.
The company he worked for had just opened up a Portland office and was renting space on the third floor. You told him you worked on the seventeenth floor when he had asked and watched the number seventeen light up. Immediately he started a conversation. It was small talk, you told him that you also had not been in Portland long and chose the simple way out by saying that a long-term relationship ended so you wanted a fresh start.
It hadn't occurred to you that he never got off on the third floor.
He rode up to the seventeenth floor just to talk to you. And once the elevator stopped and the doors started to open he asked you out. He insisted that he needed a tour guide to find the best ramen that Portland had to offer.
-----------------
5 years later
----------------
“And after that the rest is history”, you laughed as you felt Evans's arm slightly squeeze your waist in affection.
You wouldn't believe where you were, back home in Forks. You had managed to avoid it since you left because your parents moved down to just outside of Portland after they realized that your move was permanent.
Your engagement to Evan had come just over a year after you met him. After swearing up and down that after Paul you were never going to let yourself love someone again you found yourself drowning in the love that you had for Evan. And when he got down on one knee you didn't even let him finish what he was saying before you were throwing yourself in his arms shouting ‘yes’.
But your parents hadn't moved down until you Facetimed them a year after your wedding holding up ultrasound photos. They screamed and cried tears of joy, they were going to get to be grandparents. You hadn't told them everything that had happened with Paul but they knew enough. They knew that he had broken your heart and now saw how your husband was putting it back together piece by piece. They saw how happy you were.
And you are happy.
You were getting everything that you wanted, everything that he had promised you.
Marriage, a big house with a white picket fence, and children.
That’s why when you received an invite to Emily and Sam’s wedding you gladly accepted. There was no reason for you not to go, you learned a long time ago that letting the thought of Paul control your life was no way to live. If after all these years Emily still sent you an invite obviously she wanted you here.
So here you were, standing with Jared, Kim, Embry, and his imprint Ava. Kim had just about burst into tears when she saw you sitting with Evan and your son in the back of the ceremony. She was standing beside Emily at the altar and you could have sworn she almost ran back down the aisle to scoop you in her arms. And that's what she did as soon as Sam and Emily were announced as Mr and Mrs Uley.
There was so much catching up to do, that was evident. Five years of not talking to one of your best friends, especially at the stage of life all of you were in. You could see it in all of their eyes when you introduced Evan to them that they approved, it was almost a look of relief like they were glad that you had been able to move on after everything that had happened. You had both apologized for not inviting each other to your weddings but that could be forgiven. Especially when you both realize that you had young sons. Her and Jared’s son is three and your son is almost two.
The two of them quickly got along and were off playing in the designated kid's area of the field where the reception was being held. You were having so much fun laughing with old friends and introducing your husband to everyone that you almost didn't catch the moment she walked by.
Rachel Black had her arm hooked through the extended arm of some man, one that you recognized but didn't know quite where from. All you knew was that it wasn't him.
Embry was the first to clock your glance. He followed your gaze and quickly noticed who you were looking at.
“Who the hell is that?”
You had cut Jared off in the middle of his story about getting thrown out of the Mariners game and saw his eyes bug out of his head when he followed your gaze. She moved carefree throughout the wedding, stopping to say hi to people here and there as she and her mystery man made their way to a table near where her father was talking to Chief Swan.
“Her fiance”, Kim mumbled over the rim of her champagne glass.
“What!”, you were definitely louder than you had meant to be, guests nearby turning to look at you and your friends. Sheepishly you gaze at them all, a smile wincing at the sudden onset of attention.
“It’s a long story Y/N”, Embry said pleadingly. He did not want to get into this right now, you know he didn't. However, there is absolutely no way for you to let this go.
The woman who had unintentionally wrecked your relationship was now hanging off the arm of another man. And now you were wondering if that's why you hadn't seen the said man at all tonight. As far as you know he’s still one of Sam’s best friends, not that you cared to double-check.
One look from you Embry’s way was enough for him to huff and motion to an empty table a little further away from the impromptu dance floor. Pulling your husband behind you, you marched your way over plopping down on one of the empty chairs.
“I’m gonna go check on our boy”, Evan said, emphasizing the word as he kissed the top of your head and started to cross the field. You knew what he was doing, he was making everything easier. You were sure that your old friends had assumed that you had let Evan in on the pack's secret (which you had after you had gotten engaged). But you figured that he thought they would want to talk as freely if he was around. That's why you love him so much, he knew how to read a room and understood the special circumstances surrounding your past relationship and the baggage that followed you because of it.
After everyone else had made it back to the table, barring Ava who had gotten swept into a conversation with Leah and her mom, you shot them all looking waiting to see who was going to start.
“They got married…six months after you moved”
This information was shocking, I mean Paul had always been one to move fast, but six months?
“And everything was okay for a while. They seemed like they were really in love”, you flinched at Jared's words and Kim, noticing your actions, slapped her husband's chest with the back of her hand, rolling her eyes at his carelessness. Jared however wasn't phased and kept going.
“And then the fighting started. It was small things at first, we would see them bicker when walking up the steps at Em’s, or when Paul phased we could hear him replaying their argument over what to have for dinner the night before”.
He paused, taking in a deep breath, resting his hand on top of Kim’s where she had it laid on the table in front of her. Lucky for him Embry decided to take pity on his brother and cut in.
“Y/N things got bad. Paul and Rachel both have very strong ummm…personalities”. He chuckled nervously as he bit his lip. You knew this made him uncomfortable and part of you felt bad for making him tell you all of this but you needed to know. You needed to know for the sake of knowing, it's not like anything in your life was gonna change because of it. Happiness had finally found you, and part of you felt bad that Paul’s had only been temporary, even though he had shamed your heart.
“The small fights turned into screaming matches, and they weren't always private. And umm at some point the screaming escalated to the two of them breaking things. Rachel would throw glasses and beer bottles and such and Paul broke one too many kitchen chairs for them to keep replacing them”.
“Eventually we had to step in, I mean the boys had to physically step in Y/N”, Kim cut in, the look in her eyes telling you that she was reliving the drama. “Sam, Jared, and Embry let themselves into Paul and Rachel's place one day when he was home and she wasn't and they had to drag him kicking and screaming out of there practically”.
“It's not like he was abusive, it 's just that they are both so damn toxic”. Jared chuckled as he struggled to describe what it was like watching their relationship from start to finish.
The three of them filled you in on specific instances of when the crazy started to show, while also reiterating how sorry they felt for how they handled everything that night years ago.
“So where is he now?”, you blurted out. The wine finally made your head feel a little fuzzy and your filter started to thin. This question caught them off guard, the three of them exchanging awkward glances back and forth.
“I don't know, none of us do. He was supposed to be here but since last night it's been radio silence. No one has heard a word from him”, Embry said.
----------
You felt like you were being watched.
After finishing your conversation with your friends the four of you walked over to where the kids were running around. Evan and Ava had been making small talk as they gave the four of you space.
And now as you watched your friends interact with your son and husband you were trying to have a good time and appreciate the moment.
But you couldn't, because someone was watching your every movement.
You tried to brush it off, but the longer the night went on you could still sense it. Trying your best to act nonchalant you looked at the outskirts of the field and just beyond the tree line. You didn't want to worry anyone, especially your husband. Evan was having such a good time, he and the boys got along well and you knew that as soon as you got back home he was gonna start bugging you to come back up here.
You were scanning the tree line again when you saw something or someone. And as you squinted to get a better look your heart stopped beating.
Paul.
He was hidden (not very well) in the trees, just past the makeshift dance floor. He looked disheveled, his pants and partially unbuttoned white shirt were wrinkled and slightly dirty, no doubt from spending the entire night stalking from the trees.
He looks different from the last time you saw him, he looks…older maybe? No longer clean-shaven, some scruff was clear even from where you stood. Lines and marks litter his face and his eyes. Oh, his eyes look so tired.
His body stiffened when the two of you made eye contact and he realized that he had been caught. But he didn't skitter away like a scared animal when you excused yourself from your group, promising your husband that this should only take a minute.
---------------
You couldn't believe it, here you were face to face with the man who you swore up and down that if you ever saw again you would kill. But here you were, face to face with him and you couldn't even think of anything to say.
Because the thing is you weren't mad at him anymore.
No, you felt bad for him.
You had everything and he had nothing.
He looked like a scared little boy as he stood before you messing with his fingers, something you remember him doing to try and relax. Gone was the macho-man personality. He looked embarrassed.
“Hi”, his voice was shy, even more unlike him than acting embarrassed.
“What do you want Paul?” he startled at your tone but you didn't care. You weren't going to give him the time of day. This conversation was not between two old friends catching up after now seeing each other for a few years. No, you were having this conversation out of necessity and necessity only.
“I just wanna talk, it's been a while”.
“Yeah I know, last time we talked you dumped me over text and when I went to try and talk to you about it hours later you didn't even look phased. Already cuddled up to your imprint”, you made sure to lace your words with venom, you wanted to make it hurt. Make him relive his actions and decisions.
His nostrils flared at your last word. He hated being reminded of her, of that bond that they still shared. The stupid bond that had ruined his life. The same bond he thought had ruined your life. But seeing you here, walking hand in hand with a man, a small child in your arms he realized he had been wrong.
The only thing that had gotten Paul through all his fights with Rachel and all the time he spent alone after was the thought of you. How after he worked through everything he could get you back. Paul knew how devastated you had been. He had never told anyone but he knew you were there that day at Emily’s. He knew you had started up the porch and decided to put his arm around Rachel, to send you a message.
In some sick way, that thought of you being alone and missing him got him through the darkness. But now he realized that he had been wrong.
You hadn't spent the past five years moping around and waiting for him to confess his love for you. The love for you which almost killed him. He had tried to shove it down, he had been blessed with an imprint, and he should be happy.
But that wasn't the case.
He hated himself for it, dragging Rachel into the mess that was his life. Because she wanted him to love her, she wanted a happy marriage and a long life with Paul. And that's what Paul thought he wanted. The bond did make Paul feel for Rachel, he wanted to protect and keep her safe. He didn't want to see her sad. But those feelings didn't stop his love for you.
You had become the center of their marital problems.
Hundreds of miles away, completely moved on and completely oblivious to the stake that you held in their relationship.
Rachel learned very quickly that she wasn't the only woman Paul loved. And she had tried to live with it for a while. Growing up she had learned how special it was to be an imprint for one of the shifters. It was devastating to realize that she would never get that from Paul.
And after a while of trying to make it work and a little intervention from their friends, they called it quits. She had moved on, meeting someone who truly loved her and could put her first.
Paul however hadn't.
“I’m sorry about that Y/N. I just wanna…”
“You wanna what Paul? I’m not playing these games, it's late and I don't wanna spend the rest of the night arguing with you, because guess what we have nothing to argue about anymore because we are nothing”
“Don't say that Y/N”
“Don't say what Paul said? Don't say that we are nothing, are you crazy? Like generally have you lost your damn mind?”
“Y/N I love you and I know you still have to feel the same, I know how upset you were after we broke up”, his voice cracked as he pleaded with you. And you couldn't help but laugh.
“We didn't break up Paul, you dumped me…over text. Five years ago might I add, and you really must have lost it. I’m fucking married Paul, I have a child with a man that I love, someone who isn't like you, he isn't a coward”.
“No, no don't say Y/N, please”, he was begging now. Full-on begging.
“Paul I have nothing to say to you because I’m not going to say anything that you wanna hear. I don't love you”.
Time seemed to stop at your admission.
The forest seemed to be still, the soft breeze dying down and the rusting of the animal inhabitants went silent. And the light from Paul's very sad eyes seemed to dim even more if that was even possible. He truly had spent all this time that you still loved him and believed that the two of you could happen again.
What happened next was something you could have never predicted, not after knowing Paul for as long as you had.
He dropped to his knees, blubbering like an infant and pleading with you.
“Y/N please, we can make this work I know we can. Just give me one more chance, I still love you”.
He was making a scene. People were starting to notice the distressed man at your feet as he sobbed into his hands pleading with you to come back to him. Luckily Jared noticed the mumbling of some people near him and immediately saw what was happening.
“Shit”, he muttered under his breath as he grabbed a fistful of Embry’s suit jacket to pull him with him as they took off jogging trying to act nonchalant. This was still their friend's wedding and there was no chance they would let Paul and his inability to get a hold of his emotions ruin it.
The rest of the pack spotted the incident and quickly jumped into action. Sam had noticed what was happening and was putting all his trust in his friends to handle it, the last thing he wanted for Emily’s day to be ruined.
“Come on buddy, I think you need to calm down”, Jared told Paul as Jacob helped him pull Paul off the ground. Paul was still breaking down, it was like the floodgates had broken. Every emotion that he had buried for so long was just pouring out of him. It was hard for the pack to watch as one of their own, someone who was normally so stoic and cocky completely broke.
“No, stop, I'm not going anywhere. She’s not listening”, he protested, trying to shove off the various sets of hands trying to control him.
“I think she's listening perfectly fine Paul, I mean come on man, she has a husband. This isn't new news”. Seth said from his spot next to you, his body slightly angled in front of yours, ready to defend if Paul lost control and shifted.
“But I still love her”, he wailed. The boys were shoving him back now, deeper into the forest, for the sake of the wedding but also partially for his dignity.
And that was the last you saw of him, getting half-carried, thrashing around like an angry toddler sobbing as he disappeared into the woods.
Once he was gone you couldn't hold it in anymore. It was your turn to sob.
Even after all the pain and suffering he had put you through you hadn't wanted to hurt him like that. Seeing someone usually so strong shatter and at your words devastated you.
You don't know how long you stood there before Kim darted in front of you and pulled you into a bone-crushing hug.
It's confusing, you didn't know why you were crying. You had no reason to feel bad after what he had done to you and everything you had said was true, after everything he had done even if you weren't happily married you wouldn't get back with him. However, you felt so guilty, like you had been the one to ruin his life, even though Paul had made his decision.
Paul had been the one to knock down the first domino and start the chain reaction. He had made his bed and now he has to lie in it.
However, while you knew all this to be true you couldn't help but call out to him, you knew he was listening, wherever they had carried him to.
“I’m sorry Paul, I’m so sorry”.

[AKNK - Card Story] The way I chose to live
Masterlist
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chapter 1
-one day -
[Espoir, the central land]
Haures: Master. Today we will give you a detailed tour of the town of Espoir.
Haures: It's a very big city, so. It's probably difficult to see everything.
Choice: ➣Thank you
Muu: There are still so many places I haven't been to.
Muu: With Mr. Haures as our guide, we feel safe, master!
Haures: Well then, let's get started.
Thud…thud…thud…
Muu: Wow, it's a really big city.
Muu: There were a lot of people and I could see a lot of shops.
Haures: This is the largest city in the central region.
Haures: People from villages on the outskirts of the city also come to town to sell food and other goods.
Muu: Huh~. That's right.
Muu: I see. That's why even on a day like today when there are no events, there are still a lot of people there.
Haures: That's it.
Haures: Oh, I can see it now.
Haures: Master. This is the busiest market in the city.
Haures: If there's anything you need, you can usually find it in the stores around here.
Haures: That being said, perhaps master has been there before?
Choice ➣I've been here before ➣I came with Ammon and Nac.
Haures: Is that so? Master was with us shopping for the ball, after all.
Muu: Well…This is the market…
Muu: The road I just walked on…Hmmm.
Haures: Muu, did you remember correctly?
Muu: I'm taking notes now!
Muu: Yep, your route to market is now safe!
Choice ➣What is Muu doing? ➣What is the route to market?
Haures: Ah, I see. I'm sorry, I didn't tell you.
Haures: Today, I'm showing master around the town, and at the same time, I'm having Muu study to be a butler.
Choice: ➣Study?
Haures: Yes.
Haures: Muu has a system that allows you to walk around the city without getting lost. We need them to remember the geography of the city.
Muu: Still, I was surprised that the city was much bigger than I expected.
Muu: It's hard to remember all of this city's geography…
Haures: There's no need to rush.
Haures: If you try to force yourself to remember everything in one go, you'll end up feeling stressed and your efficiency will decrease.
Haures: Muu goes at his own pace. All you have to do is remember it little by little.
Muu: Mr. Howles.
Muu: Haha, that's true!
Muu: Thank you, Mr. Howles. I feel a little better!
Choice: ➣Good luck, Muu ➣I'm rooting for you
Muu: I'll do my best to remember!
Haures: Even so, Muu is so honest and helpful.
Muu: Are you honest?
Haures: This was a long time ago, but…
Haures: When Lono and Lamli were new recruits, it was a struggle to even teach them the geography of the city.
Haures: They don't even take notes properly
Haures: I guess you could say I go at my own pace, but I always give in to the temptations of the city.
Choice: ➣I can kind of imagine it ➣Looks like them
Haures: Well, compared to the past, Lono and Lamli have grown up.
Haures: Compared to the two of them back then, Mu is much easier to teach.
Muu: Hehe, I get embarrassed when you praise me like that.
Muu: So, will I get a reward from Haures today? Like sweets!
Haures: Come on, master. We will guide you to the next location.
Muu: Don't ignore it!
Haures: I'm not that naive, Muu.
Haures: Now, next…
Haures: …hm?
Muu: What's the matter, Mr. Howles? Is there something behind you?
Haures: …
Choice: ➣Haures?
Haures: Master. We're heading to our next location, but can we take a slight detour?
Haures: There are more and more people around, so let's walk around avoiding the crowds.
Choice: ➣If Haures says so… ➣Understood
Haures: Well, here it is.
Tumblr media
[Espoir backstreets]
Muu: Once you get off the main street, it becomes much less busy.
Muu: But why the long detour?
Haures: …as expected.
Muu: What is it?
Haures: We are being followed.
Muu: Huh?
Muu: Maybe by a bad person?
Haures: No, that's not it.
Haures: It's the kids that are following us.
Chapter 2
[Espoir backstreets]
Haures: It's the kids that are following us.
Choice ➣Being followed by a child?
Haures: Yes. Ever since we entered the city, I felt people looking at me.
Haures: At first I thought they were just looking at us out of curiosity, so I didn't think much of it…
Haures: If you've come this far, there must be a reason.
Muu: The reason…
Haures: I don't want to scare you too much, but I can't help it.
Haures: Hey, I know you're hiding there.
Juvenile: …
Muu: The boy was really hiding!
Haures: What happened?
Haures: Is there something from us?
Choice: ➣It looks like he's looking down… ➣Why are you silent
Haures: Master. Please stay behind me for now.
Haures: There seems to be something going on with this kid.
Juvenile: …
Haures: Isn't there something you wanted to tell me that made you chase after me?
Juvenile: …Y-yes.
Juvenile: Well, I…
Juvenile: You are a demon butler…
Juvenile: I came to… hit you!
Haures: Hit me?
Muu: Why would you want to hit Mr. Howles?
Haures: …Maybe a family member or acquaintance fell victim to an angel?
Haures: So he hated me…
Choice ➣Does that mean it's revenge…?
Juvenile: Huh? No… that's not the case.
Haures: Huh?
Muu: Is it something different?
Haures: Well…Sorry, I have one question…
Haures: Do you hate me?
Juvenile: I don't hate you…
Muu: So why are you trying to hurt Mr. Howles?
Juvenile: Because the demon butler deserves to be beaten!
Juvenile: The Demon Butler is a really bad guy, right?
Juvenile: The reason why angels attack is because of the demon butlers. You're trying to get people to attack you and take over the city, right?
Muu: W-what is that?! That can't be true!
Muu: The Demon Butlers are fighting for everyone!
Juvenile: Oh, you're a liar! All my friends say the Demon Butlers are a bad guys!
Juvenile: Because there is a demon butler, everyone is going to be wiped out by the angels!
Juvenile: So… the demon butler deserves to get beaten up…
Muu: That's a really crazy reason.
Juvenile: …
Haures: …I see. Somehow I understood the situation.
Haures: I guess you heard about us from a friend.
Haures: Those friends… are you talking about those kids hiding in the shadows far away?
Boys: Oh no! He noticed…!
Muu: Ah, they ran away!
Muu: What was that? Those kids?
Haures: They were probably watching the kid hit me.
Haures: Hey, you. They don't look anymore.
Haures: Will you tell me the truth without hiding anything?
Juvenile: …Yeah.
Juvenile: Actually···.
Juvenile: The kids from earlier told me that they wouldn't be my friend unless I punched the demon butler.
Muu: What do you mean?
Muu: Why is hitting Mr. Howles a condition for becoming friends?
Muu: Why is hitting Mr. Howles a condition for becoming friends?
Haures: A rite of passage, perhaps?
Haures: By punching the demon butler and showing everyone your courage, you'll be accepted as a friend.
Haures: That's probably it.
Juvenile: …
Muu: T-that's awful!
Muu: If you don't hurt someone, you'll be left out! Is that okay?
Juvenile: Uh, uh….but···.
Juvenile: I was bullied in the village where I used to live… and I just moved to this town…
Juvenile: I don't want to be left out anymore!
Choice: ➣Bullying, huh…
Muu: But making someone hurt you and then expecting that to be a condition for becoming friends…
Muu: Do you want to be friends with someone like that?
Haures: Calm down, Muu.
Haures: First of all, you need to be sensitive to the child's feelings.
Haures: There's no point in just talking about ideals. …The reality isn't so sweet.
Muu: Mr. Howles…
Muu: Sorry, that's right.
Haures: What Mu said wasn't wrong.
Haures: But at the same time, I don't think this child's thoughts are wrong.
Chapter 3
[Espoir backstreets]
Haures: What Muu said wasn't wrong.
Haures: But at the same time, I don't think this child's thoughts are wrong.
Juvenile: Huh?
Haures then knelt on the ground and looked the boy in the eye.
Haures: What's your name?
Alan: Alan.
Haures: Alan-kun.
Haures: If you want to hit me, you can hit me as much as you want.
Alan: Huh…?
Muu: Mr. Howles?
Haures: This is not a lie, I'm serious.
Haures: However···.
Haures: It's up to you to decide whether or not to hit.
Alan: My…decision ?
Haures: Because a friend told you to… Because he told me it was okay to hit me…
Haures: Can you promise me that you won't look around for excuses after hitting me?
Haures: That way of thinking will only hurt you later on.
Haures: You have to live your life your own way.
Haures: Well, while I'm saying this. I'm not in a position to say anything arrogant though.
Alan: Big brother…
Haures: Alan-kun. It doesn't matter whether you keep this promise or not.
Haures: I don't intend to force my opinion on you.
Haures: Anyway, it's up to you to decide what to do.
Alan: That's…but…
Alan: I have to do as everyone says… I can't join in…
Alan: Then I'll get bullied again…
Alan: So I… I…
Alan: …But I really don't want to do this.
Haures: …I see. Understood.
Haures: Good to hear Alan's thoughts.
Alan: Sorry!
Thud…thud…thud
Choice: ➣He leaved
Muu: Is that kid okay?
Muu: Because he couldn't hit Mr. Haures, the other kids might ostracize him…
Haures: I guess so.
Muu: Yeah!? That's so irresponsible…
Haures: I told you at the beginning, Muu. The reality is not so sweet.
Haures: But I'm sure the kid will be fine.
Haures: At the end, he looked really good.
Choice: ➣Haures is kind
Haures: Am I kind…?
Haures: Is that so?
Haures: I… I think I'm being selfish.
Choice: ➣Why?
Haures: I just told him what I learned from my past mistakes.
Haures: But it just so happened that this way of life suited me…
Haures: Surely there must be a way of life that suits him.
Haures: I felt like I had taken away his freedom with my words…
Haures: It's scary to tell someone something.
Muu: Mr. Haures.
Muu: I'm not one to say that, but…
Muu: Maybe you don't need to take on so much responsibility?
Muu: If you think everything is your fault, Mr. Haures will end up feeling miserable.
Muu: I want Mr. Haures to be happy too!
Haures: Muu.
Haures: Thank you. …I'm sorry for making you worry.
Muu: No, no, I just said it because that's what I wanted to say! It's my intention!
Haures: I see.
???: Aaaa!
Muu: !! Mr. Haures! That scream…
Choice: ➣A child's scream?
Haures: It's pretty close. Let's go anyway!
Thud thud thud.
Tumblr media
[Espoir, the central land]
Angel: "Die. For. Life."
Boys: H-help me…!
Haures: Those kids…
Muu: These are the kids who just watched Howles get beaten up!
Boys: No, no! Don't come here!
Boys: S-someone help!!
Haures: Oh no, the angel is already in front of them…!
Thud thud thud
Alan: Everyone, stand up quickly! Come over here!
Boys: Oh, you…
Alan: Okay, hurry! The rest will be handled by the Demon Butler!
Boys: Uh, yeah… Thank you.
Haures: That child, the one from earlier…
Haures: …He's really strong. Much more than I used to be.
Angel: "Die for life."
Haures: Master. Please release your power.
Haures: Hunt angels
Haures: No matter how much I am insulted by those around me… I will continue to fight to protect people's lives.
Haures: That's the way I've chosen to live.

My Favorites By Me Tag
I was going to do this just for myself after that poll I ran, but after that Monster Author Tag started by @monstersflashlight I thought this would be fun to share! Feel free to pass but I’d love to see what y’all’s favorites of your own work are 🫶
Rules are basic! Share 5 of your favorite series or analog pieces you’ve written, and then 5 stand alones. Feel free to say why they’re your favorite or just share the link!
Series/Analog:
1. Icarus x Apollo: I was honestly emotional writing it. It’s all fluff, but emotional and romantic in a way that I feel like is unexpected based on the rest of my profile. I might or might not have listened to literally just the song Icarus by Bastille for like three days on repeat
2. God Husband x Disabled Husband: I loved getting to put a little bit of my Indigenous heritage into this, and I got a lot of positive feedback, including people telling me that they hadn’t read such a poignant piece on disability in awhile and honestly? Gave me a bit of a big head on it. Also as someone with a chronic illness I liked getting to work some of my own issues into this
3. Nobleman Minotaur: Aestrion?? Slow burn?? Pasiphae?? Based on actual Greek mythology?? I mean obviously
4. Minotaur Husband: Minotaur finding a sweet farmer wife? Chef’s kiss
5. Orc Slave: Slowburn enemies to lovers!! Yes!!
Series 1 & 2 MasterList
Series 3 & 4 MasterList
Series 5 MasterList
One Shots:
1. Set x Horus: My beloveds 🫶 Egyptian mythology was my special interest as a kid (I was the kid who corrected the tour guide on the difference between a coffin and early sarcophagi). It’s like 150 words max but I love it
2. Virgin Centaur: I KNOW now that horses can masturbate but I didn’t at the time, so I still had a lot of fun writing this piece and getting all the feedback about it is kinda funny/fun
3. Raven Mocker: wild of me kind of. Very different than my other stuff. A little gorey/bloody. Despite the negative attention because one person was like, weirdly insistent that I wasn’t Indigenous/not Indigenous enough, I really enjoyed writing something different
4. Andrew Android: MtF Android and just, so sweet imo how the reader accepts and loves her unconditionally. Made me fall in love with robots/androids and I want to write more about them so bad
5. FtM Orc Husband: I just love it. It’s one of my earliest pieces I shared on here (like two years ago now I think) but I love it just as much now as I did then

May I request a Wriothesley version of the legend of the red string of fate please??
Yes of course!! Thank you so much for putting in your request and giving me the idea🫶
Soulmates huh? I like the sound of that..
Tumblr media
Wriothesley x fem!reader
Fluff, based on the Legend of the Red String of Fate, Will contain spoilers from the chenyu vale world quest!
I hope you all enjoy reading!
“Tea bags, check..gift, check, tea leaves- check! Okay I’m ready to head off.” You muttered to yourself, cross checking your luggage before you depart from Chenyu Vale to Fontaine for a very important meeting. With whom you might be wondering? Well, it was none other than the Duke of the Fortress of Meropide himself.
Chenyu vale is known widely for its famous and aromatic Adeptea, and has always exported copious amounts of tea to Fontaine. However for the past 2 years, the tea’s quality started to decline, and so did the exports. It had come to your attention that out of all the Fontainians, the Duke of Meropide was particularly displeased about this situation, going so far as to penning a kind yet stern letter to the head of the village, asking about what has been happening to their tea. It was safe to say that this letter had raised quite the panic, for the fortress was the major buyer of the Adeptea and losing such a buyer was something your small yet humble village could not afford. What’s worse was that none of the people were able to understand what was going wrong with the tea, except of course for you and Grandpa Lu.
You were a prominent figure in Chenyu vale, known for your artistic pottery and fine brewing skills. You would handpick the slots of tea that was being sent to Fontaine yourself, knowing that they needed the best quality tea. Not only that, but you were also skilled in the Adepti art of Adeptus Fujin herself, which made you understand that the harmony of nature had been disrupted, leading to the tea quality’s decline.
Thankfully for all of you; the renowned traveler had arrived with their companion and with your aid and Fujin’s power, the problem had been resolved. The only problem that now remained, was the displeased Duke of Meropide. So you took it upon yourself to travel to Fontaine and offer an explanation and apology, for no one else understood the true depth of the situation. As compensation, you made him the most beautiful tea set, infusing in it a little bit of your power which would allow the tea to remain fragrant and hot for extended hours. You truly did hope that this would placate the man.
After bidding farewell to your mother, you got onto the boat that would take you to the renowned and magnificent nation of justice. Fontaine truly seemed magnificent, with its technological advances and strict judicial system. You had always desired to visit the city, although not in such a diplomatic way. No matter, you would make sure to get a tour of the city later. Upon hearing of your visit, the duke had been kind enough to write to you personally, informing you of basic but important laws that you must not break if you didn’t wish to extend your stay in the fortress from a few hours to a few days. The letter was…extremely lengthy, given the amount of ridiculous and extensive laws the land held. Archons, how did the people even remember them all? Well no matter, it’s not like you were going to stay there for long….right?
As you arrived at the Lumidouce harbour, you noticed two officials waiting for you, probably to guide you to the fortress. You bowed at them politely, following their lead while admiring the beautiful scenery of Fontaine.
“Welcome to the Nation of Justice, Ms. Y/N. We have been tasked by Monsieur Neuvillette to guide you to the fortress of Meropide through the Opera Epiclese. Please, follow us.”
Thanking them you boarded yet another boat, and then an aquabus where you met a cute little creature. Ah, that must be the melusines that the duke had mentioned in his letter. The melusine was so sweet, giving you a detailed explanation about the city, even answering your curious question. In the end, you quickly rummaged through your bag, giving her a little Qingxin flower as a thank you for her service. The smile that adorned her little face truly made your day better.
Eventually you headed to the back of the grand Opera Epiclese, where you saw a dignified tall man with a black fur coat hanging on his shoulder standing with his back faced to you. His aura seemed intimidating to you, however you kept your composure. “Duke, we have brought your guest.”
“Ah, you have my profound gratitude. You both may leave, I shall escort my guest from here.”
“Yes sir.”
At that moment, he turned around to face you, and you felt your entire world stopping. Your jade green eyes met with his ashy blue ones, and you swore you felt a spark through your entire body. A beautiful and delicate Res String tied to your little finger made its way to tie itself around his thumb, making you freeze in place. You had found your fated Soulmate. He was a godly man, perfect from head to toe. You had never seen a man as handsome as him, his every feature truly was perfect. You didn’t fail to notice the scars on his face and neck, making you realise he truly had been through a lot in his lifetime.
Meanwhile, Wriothesley was utterly stunned, yet confused. In front of him stood perhaps the most beautiful maiden he had ever seen, her delicate figure adorned with a pastel green outfit and jade jewellery, matching the colour of her eyes. A dendro vision was tied to your outfit while your long hair flowed freely down your shoulders. He was in awe of your beauty, it was as if some kind of force was pulling him in to you. However he was baffled to see a delicate red string connect the two out of you, seemingly appearing out of nowhere. Your equally shocked look did not escape his watchful eyes. What in Teyvat was going on? He cleared his throat, talking rather softly. “Uhm, Miss Y/N, how about we..head back to my office to talk?”
You snapped out of your thoughts, nodding immediately as you felt your cheeks blushing like anything. “Yes, yes of course Duke..”
He let out a raspy chuckle, shaking his head. “No need to be so formal, you can just call me Wriothesley.” Oh archons, why was everything about him so attractive?! You looked down with a shy smile, nodding. “Understood. Please, lead the way..”
He smiles slightly, enjoying your flustered state for some reason. As much as he desired to ask you about this mysterious red string, he chose to wait. Such important and private discussions were better suited for his office, where he could guarantee no one would eavesdrop. He led you down the elevator and through the boat to the Fortress, noticing how observant you were about every little detail. Hm..that would explain the Dendro vision. “Welcome to the Fortress of Meropide. I’m sure you must have heard a thing or two about this place, but I can assure you it’s not as awful as it sounds. Here in the fortress every exile and every prisoner is given a chance to start life anew, to work hard and earn their freedom and dignity back. If I dare say so myself, the fortress is essentially a place of rediscovery and rebirth. The law treats everyone fairly, and the fortress is no different.”
You listened to him in awe, admiring the way he spoke like a dignified gentleman. Although he looked intimidating and cold, his demeanour was quite relaxed and welcoming. “That is quite admirable, to give a chance to the offenders to start life anew.” He nodded at your words as he led you to his office. “Of course, that is not to say that criminals do not get their punishment. No one leads a cushiony life in here, and those who have broken the law and hurt others get treated the same way. The rest who actually wish to turn over to a new leaf are given the chance to do so. Many prisoners choose to stay here even after their sentence has concluded.”
That surely came as a shock to you. As…magnificent as the fortress was, it was devoid of sunlight and nature, it felt suffocating to you. Why would people live here willingly? Noticing your silence and the unasked question in the air, Wriothesley laughed a little. “I’m sure you must be wondering why they would choose to do that. Well Fontaine is a nation much different than the rest. Here, status, reputation and wealth matter a lot. Life up at the surface is full of pretensions and dramatic situations. Here in the fortress; everyone is equal, everyone is straightforward. They start with nothing, and through sheer hard work, earn their daily necessities. Perhaps that equality is what attracts people to stay here rather than going up to the surface and continue to play the part in the endless opera that Fontaine is.”
Only you knew how much you were admiring him at this point. Not only was he fair and just, he was also respectable and empathetic, treating humans as they were supposed to be treated rather than declaring them as unruly criminals. “I really admire the way you manage this place Wriothesley..to be able to view offenders as something more than their offence is an admirable quality. No wonder you are the Duke.” As much as he wished he could deny it, Wriothesley felt his heart skip a beat at your words. “You flatter me Y/N. here, this is my office. Let us go upstairs. Please, make yourself comfortable.”
“Thank you. Ah before I forget, I brought you a small present to compensate for all the inconveniences you have had to face due to the small crisis in Chenyu vale.” Taking out a box, you opened it to reveal the most beautifully embroidered tea set that Wriothesley had ever seen. “This is a tea set I crafted myself, and I have infused it with a little bit of adeptal power. That will allow the tea to stay fragrant and warm for hours on end. I imagine that your work must be arduous and time consuming. So, you need not brew a hot cup of tea every now and then. I hope it is to your liking..”
Looking up, you felt your heart flutter at the way Wriothesley was smiling, his eyes shimmering as he admired the tea set. “This is simply divine, I cannot thank you enough for your hard work. There was no need for a present Y/N..but thank you so much, I will gratefully accept it.” Smiling happily, you stood up, getting the tea leaves out. “Well if you’ll allow me; I can brew us some tea right now. I do believe we have a lot of things to discuss Wriothesley..” He smiled and nodded, accompanying you as he watched you brew the tea. The aroma of fresh tea filled his office, instantly relaxing him. A while later you both sat down, drinking tea. “This is exquisite tea, you are exceptional at brewing.” You blushed at the praise, shaking your head. “Thank you..well then, I believe it is time I addressed something very important..” You raised your left hand, bringing to his notice the red string that connected the two of you. “Yes please go ahead, I am quite curious about this string.”
You took a deep breath to prepare yourself for the worst possible outcome after you explained everything to him. “This is the red string of fate..Inazuma and Liyue have a..tradition where the gods have destined two people together as…Soulmates. The red string appears when two soulmates lock eyes with one another, and it signifies the union of two fated lovers…The red string may stretch endlessly, but it can never be snapped or broken. Of course…some people can…reject this bond, but that won’t erase the existence of this string..”
Wriothesley listened to your words carefully, also noticing the way you held your teacup close, caressing the edges anxiously. You weren’t looking into his eyes, and he knew that you were afraid that he would reject this bond. Truth to be told, as strange as this entire situation was, he felt so comfortable in your presence, so soothed and happy that it felt like home. He knew he was attracted to you, and wanted to be with you. Whether it was the string acting or his heart, he did not know and nor did he care. He gently held your hand in his, making your jade green eyes look at him with an expression so hopeful that it melted his ice cold heart.
“I do not wish to reject this bond. Even though I’ve only met you today; your presence has..comforted me. The fortress has always been cold and stuffy but your presence here feels like a breath of fresh air…I know that I feel connected to you. And if the gods themselves have fated us to be together then who am I to overrule their judgement?”
You smiled ever so happily, not being able to hold back as you hugged him, resting your head against his chest. Meanwhile wriothesley, though tense at first, melted into your embrace, wrapping his arms around you gently. His bigger frame completely engulfed you, as if hiding and protecting you from all evil. He was your home, you knew it. “If you are not rejecting this bold, then I pledge you my devotion and loyalty until my last breath. From now on, I am your soulmate..” you spoke, looking up into his beautiful eyes. He chuckled at your words. Gently cradling your face, smiling at the way you leaned into his touch. He knew you both would have to work a few things out, but everything would turn out to be just fine. He then held your left hand, tenderly kissing the place where the red string was tied.
“Soulmates huh? I like the sound of that. Then from this day forth, I am yours, just like you are mine.”

Exarcheia under siege: Behind the Saturday's Riot They Don’t Want You to Understand
It is obvious the neighborhood of Exarcheia is changing in a violent way, but that is not due to riots or protests.
On the Saturday night of April 19th 2025, dozens of anarchists attacked with Molotov the scores of riot policemen that had encircled a live gig taking place in Strefi Hill of Exarcheia, in support of the people in Palestine. The public discussion that followed the fierce riot that unfolded and the threats made by members of the greek government to crush the anarchist movement in the neighbourhood, was about the events of that night, but purposely avoided addressing the reasons that led to that.
Exarcheia has always been a place under siege and attack. But in the last few years, the transformation of the neighborhood is taking place through systemic violence, with gentrification as a weapon. Once a cradle of radical thought and political resistance, the neighborhood is now the site of what many describe as an occupation.
On any given day, Exarcheia Square—the area’s only communal open space—is hemmed in by riot police. Three corners of the square are guarded 24 hours a day, their presence a constant reminder of the state’s menace to the people in the area. Since August 9, 2022, when construction began on a new metro station beneath the square, this militarized posture has only deepened. The project has been met with uncompromising local opposition, not only over the destruction of the sole green space but for what it symbolizes: the state’s determination to remake Exarcheia in its own image.
Under the right wing New Democracy government, Exarcheia has become a symbol of ideological confrontation. Every day the police march in regimented formations, changing shifts with military-like choreography. Their omnipresence has turned daily life into a tense theater of surveillance and intimidation. People often face arbitrary detentions and, in many cases, excessive force.
This is not simply a story about urban renewal. It is a struggle over history, memory, and the right to dissent.
Bulldozers and Batons: The Violence of Gentrification
The construction of the metro station on Exarcheia square has become a flashpoint—not merely for environmental or logistical reasons, but because it is seen as the latest front in a campaign of displacement. To critics, this is gentrification with riot shields.
Because it aims to seal off for a decade the main free space that people can gather, when there are other locations more suitable or useful for a metro station, like near the National Archaeological Museum with more than half a million visitors annually, only 2 blocks away from Exarcheia Square.
Rents have soared. Prices jumped from €5.50 to €8.50 per square meter between 2017 and 2022, whilst recent listings show rates exceeding €10, effectively doubling.
Longtime residents find themselves priced out, their leases ended to turn it to Airbnb. Local businesses struggle to coexist with boutique cafés, fine-dining restaurants, hipster shops that speak a different urban dialect. What is lost is not merely affordability, but identity. Gentrification is always violent, but here, it’s also ideological. It’s about erasing a memory.
The Tourist Trap of Rebellion
Even as riot police tighten their grip, Exarcheia is being marketed to visitors as a bohemian enclave—gritty, “authentic,” and Instagram-ready. Guided tours invite tourists to “explore the radical side of Athens.
Critics argue that tourism sanitizes the very history it seeks to showcase, turning sites of struggle into spectacles and collapsing resistance into branding.
Meanwhile, dissent is punished with severity. All kinds of protests or political gatherings are usually met with tear gas and detentions. Graffiti disappears under fresh coats of paint. Squats are evicted. The tension between image and reality is as palpable as the smell of tear gas that sometimes lingers in the air.
Memory as a Battleground
Urban transformation is rarely neutral. In Exarcheia, it is inextricably tied to an effort to overwrite a particular version of history—a history in which the neighborhood’s resistance to authoritarianism remains central. The construction sites and real estate billboards serve a dual function: physical development and symbolic conquest. “Urban cleansing,” some call it.
The square, once a gathering place for people, is now a fenced-off construction site under constant surveillance. Its fate mirrors that of the neighborhood itself—under renovation, under guard, and, many fear, under erasure.
Yet despite the pressure, Exarcheia’s spirit is not easily extinguished. Murals still bloom on alley walls. Political posters appear overnight. And each evening, as the sun dips behind Mount Lycabettus, the question lingers: How should people react against the silent killer of gentrification that one day finds you with your suitcases at hand, silently forcing you to leave your home forever?

Chapter 1: A Dusty Ass Bird Man Won't Leave My Neighbor Alone
For as long as you can remember you've been able to see or sense things, whatever they might be. Spirits, guides, or guardians, you thought you had seen them all by now. It had become normal. Especially since beginning at the museum. It was common to see spirits watering around the exhibits. After all, the museum did house remains, and items of all sorts, each with a story. Even during tours, you would spot at least one person with some type of attachment. Perhaps, a deceased family member, a guide, or a protective spirit. So when you met Steven Grant and sensed the entity attached to him, you figured it was something similar.
As you spent time with Steven you were able to get a better feel for the entity, it became more tangible. It felt different, off in a way you hadn't felt before with others. So you waited, maybe time would allow your ability to reveal it. The entity hadn't appeared to be hostile, at least not yet. But you got a distinct feeling that it could be very dangerous if it wished, and it felt
very,
very,
old.
 And it knew!
It knew you could sense it, and it watched you.
When you were near it you found that it would respond. It would cause small, almost gentle gusts of wind, to brush against you, or the lights to flicker. You got the odd feeling that it was curious about you. Somehow, for some reason, you had caught the attention of something very old and powerful. You weren't quite sure what that meant.
Especially now.
Because it was looking right at you.
Across the museum showroom, it perched on top of a ledge. Whatever had clouded your ability to see it before had dissipated, leaving the entity finally visible. It was frightening, and unlike anything, you had seen before. It was a tall semi-humanoid skeletal bird, wrapped in old bandages, gripping a crescent-topped staff.
It tilted its head to the side, and your stomach dropped. You felt that it was examining you. Your hands shook, and you tightened the grip on your coffee. Your eyes darted to the right, catching a glance inside the nearby gift shop. Steven was there speaking to Donna. You looked back to the entity, only to feel its presence dissipate. Whatever it was, had left you for the time being. You let out a breath.
Donna passed you as she headed out, heels clicking against the tile floor. You took this as your chance. You stepped into the gift shop. Steven was sorting through the array of trinkets at the register, his curly hair a bit disheveled, and dark circles under his lidded eyes. You smiled fondly as you noticed the quirky Hawaiian-like shirt he wore.
You liked to think you knew Steven fairly well, despite you both working in different areas of the museum, yours being the Greco-Roman exhibit. Something about Steven caught your attention when you first saw him at the museum. Maybe it was because of the strange entity that followed him, perhaps it was because you could sense death at one time had a hold on him. Either way, your curiosity got the better of you. Your observations from afar eventually turned into conversations. It was tricky at first with how easily flustered he got, but you found it charming. He was a bit clumsy, often tripping over his own feet, and had a tendency to drift off in odd places. But it quickly became obvious how fond he was of Egyptian lore, you loved how happy and animated Steven would get when he talked about it. You found him enduringly awkward and made a point to speak to him when you could. It didn't take long for a friendship to form.
His face lit up as he saw you approach the register. Your heart skipped a beat at his smile.
"Hiya!" He gave you an adorable half-wave, "What brings you in here? Thought you'd be out touring by now."
You smiled, "I had a tour canceled last minute and made a coffee run. I thought you might want a little something." Steven had told you about his insomnia weeks ago as he walked with you to your shared building. You weren't surprised. You were a bit touched though. He trusted you enough to tell you about just how serious it was. While you couldn't do much to actually help him you tried to make work a little more bearable. And while you hadn't actually ever seen him drink coffee, you knew how he took his tea. He used a sickening amount of sugar and honey and-
"Oh! You didn't- You didn't have to do that. But I- I appreciate it, really. Thanks."
You handed him the still-steaming cup of tea. Your fingers brushed. You tried to ignore the sudden heat rising in your face. You hoped that he didn't notice.
"I don't mind. Gives me a chance to visit my favorite gift shop-ist." You caught a sheepish smile from him as he took a sip.
Your eyes scanned the shop, looking for a conversation starter. You spotted a sarcophagus poster behind him, and your smile widened.
Bingo.
His brows furrowed and he lowered his cup as he noticed the shit-eating grin on your face.
"Oh no, don't even think about it, I know exactly what that look means-"
 "What's a mummy's favorite type of coffee?" You paused for dramatic effect. "De-coffin-ated!" You attempted to make finger guns the best you could while holding your coffee.
Silence.
"That was-" He shook his head, smiling softly, "that was terrible."
It was. But hey, you put a bunch of effort into researching Egypt-related jokes. It may have only been for Steven, but you were going to use them, even if they were terrible.
"I know, pretty bad. It was just too good to pass up." You take a sip of your coffee, suddenly a bit shy. "I um- I never got a chance to thank you for the book. It was nice of you to do."
A few weeks back you had mentioned to Steven that you had never gotten into Egyptian mythology. You knew barely anything about it, save for your fascination with the mummification process. You couldn't help but notice how fond Steven was of it. He would light up, eyes gleaming and gesturing excitedly as he mentioned historical facts. You loved to listen to him, he made it seem so intriguing. While you hadn't had any interest in Egyptian lore before meeting Steven, you certainly did now. When you told him about your curiosity on the subject he looked at you like you had made his day. And honestly, you probably had. On your next shift, when you opened your locker, you were surprised to find a book.
'Egyptian Mythology: Gods, Goddesses, and Lore of Ancient Egypt'
It looked well worn, and very much loved. Its pages were a bit yellowed and curved, and its spine had lines. You could easily tell this book had been read many many times. You opened the cover and saw a name scribbled into the top corner. It was Steven's. Steven was letting you borrow his book on Egyptian mythology. You flipped through the pages briefly, a colored tab grabbing your attention. You stopped, and read the note:
 'Have a feeling you'll like this one' An arrow extended from the end of the sentence to the chapter title:
'Anubis: God of Mummification and Guardian of the Dead'
After this, you quickly developed an interest in the afterlife and Anubis. A bit morbid, but both fascinating and fitting.
"O-oh! It was nothing really," He blushed, "just nice to have someone else to talk about it y'know."
You nodded and began to fidget with your cup. "I was wondering if- you don't have to of course, but maybe you'd like to talk about it over lunch sometime or-"
"Sorry, can you give me a second?" Dylan, another tour guide, asked you.
 "Oh! Yeah. Sure, of course." You stepped away from the register.
She turned to Steven, "Hello!"
"Hello." Steven looked a bit taken aback at her sudden appearance.
"How's the sugar trade going?"
 "I don't know what this has to do with Egypt really." You smiled at his exasperated explanation as he fidgeted with an item." They didn't have that back then, did they? No. They liked figs and dates, and-"
 "My next tour's here but just checking, are we still on for 7:00 tomorrow?" Your eyebrows raised.
'Oh. ' You glanced at Steven, heart sinking.
 "7:00 tomorrow?"
"Best steak in town?"
"Oh, yeah. Right. Yeah. Yeah? Okay." He laughed. "Sorry. But... What? Are you asking me out?"
She laughed, "You're funny. I'll see you then."
"Stevie," Donna suddenly reappeared, "you absolute rascal. I didn't know you had taken a crack."
"I didn't know either." He sounded genuinely shocked, if not a bit confused.
"Steven," you asked," aren't you vegan?"
 "Yeah."
"What in the world's a bloody vegan gonna eat in a steak house?" Donna said.
 "I don't know, Donna. Salad? Bread?"
They did have great bread…
 "Yeah, I can see why she went for it. Real catch you are." She rolled her eyes and left.
"Well, I'm sure you'll have a great time." You smiled softly, ignoring the pit forming in your stomach. You weren't jealous, you told yourself, you weren't. Dylan was nice and super smart, they'd have a nice time.
 Steven nodded.
You glanced at your watch."I-I got to go, my next tour is probably here. It was nice to catch up."
"Laters!" He gave a small wave, which you returned as you left the shop. As you rounded the corner your eyes widened and you had to muffle a cry.
It was right there.
The large bird-man stood against the wall next to you. Your heart hammered against your chest. It turned its head and you could feel his non-existent eyes on you. You should just ignore it. After all, your tour was waiting. Instead, for some reason you greeted it.
"H-hello." Your voice shook.
You got the distinct feeling you had surprised it. You had never tried to speak to it before. It said nothing, just nodded its head in acknowledgment. You used this as a sign to continue, walking past it quickly, eyes fixed on the tiled floor below.
 You took a breath in an attempt to settle yourself and walked toward your group. You introduced yourself and apologized for the delay.
"If you would follow me over here," You gestured with a sweeping motion, "you'll see the 'Pitsa pinakes', one the oldest known examples of panel painting in ancient Greece."
⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾⋆⁺₊⋆
You walked through the building entrance, carrying a few bags. Your favorite tea brand had been on sale and you may have overindulged. But, in your defense, this particular strawberry tea was horribly tricky to find now. You sighed, pressing the up button. The elevator doors opened, revealing a familiar figure curled up in the corner.
"Steven?" You blinked in surprise.
He moved the hand that had covered his mouth, blinking a few times before giving you a small pitiful wave.
"H-hello." He muttered a bit dazed as the doors closed.
"Are you- are you okay? What happened?" His eyes were wide and he was trembling. You wanted to ask him where on earth he had been. Maybe mention the fact that he had missed his shift for two days, had you worried sick, but this obviously wasn't the time.
"Yeah...yeah I'm fine, thanks." He stood slowly, continuing to shake as he tightly gripped something to his chest. You pressed the button for the fifth floor.
"I don't want to bother you...but are you sure you're alright?" You knew Steven to be a bit jumpy, of course, but you had never seen him so terrified before. You hated seeing him this way. "I could walk with you, or just stay with you a for a bit... If you want. It would be no problem really."
The elevator jerked suddenly, causing Steven to make a sound of surprise as it reached the floor. The doors opened and the lights flickered eerily.
"S-sorry. There was..." He sighed, running a hand through his hair.
"Hey, its alright. Its okay. You're okay." You attempted to calm him, placing your hand on his arm.
 "N-No. No I'm not." Steven shook his head. He looked at you, his eyes threatening to spill with tears.
"I'm not okay. I-I lose time and forget things. I go to sleep but only I'm not asleep. And the dreams- I can't tell if I'm dreaming or awake. I-I'm seeing things. And now there's this thing following me. I think- I think I'm losing it. I think I'm broken. I don't know what to do..." His voice broke, " I'm- I'm scared."
"Steven." You started softly, "I can't pretend I understand what you're going through... but you're not broken. You just need a bit of help. How about we go to my place? I'll make you some tea and you can tell me everything there if you want. Okay?"
 He blinked at you confused and a bit surprised, "Y-yeah. That'd be- that would be nice."
"It's just down here." You adjusted your bags to one arm and took his hand with the other. You walked a few doors down the hall, pulled out your keys, and opened the door to your flat. You dropped his hand.
"Sit anywhere you'd like, tea will be just a moment."
Steven hesitated a moment before moving to the couch. He sat and began to fidget with his sleeve as he waited.
 Meanwhile, you quickly threw a kettle on the stove before sitting beside him.
"Okay, tell me what happened, what's going on?"
 He took a breath, "I told you about the insomnia right?"
You nodded.
"Well, I- when I do sleep, I have a bit of a problem too. I sleep walk. End up in all sorts of weird places too. Used to be pretty bad but I've...I've had it under control. For a while at least. I had this crazy dream though! It felt so real. So I sit up, I have no idea where I am, and this voice keeps telling me to 'surrender the body'. I got no clue what it keeps going on about so I look around and next thing I know I'm being shot at-" Steven continues to explain this dream. It was definitely odd, and a bit disturbing. You weren't quite sure how much it had to do with him being huddled in an elevator.
The kettle screeched.
"I'm listening, one moment." You grabbed two cups and poured the tea. Three spoons of sugar, and two of honey went into Steven's tea. The man’s sweet tooth was horrid.
"Anyway, I wake up today and Gus, my fish, he's always had only one fin, right? But I wake up and see he's got two! Two! Crazy right? And I'm no expert on fish but I'm pretty sure they don't grow back fins, yeah? So I take him to the shop and I ask the lady about it. And she said that she told me yesterday that all the fish have two fins. Now I know I haven't been in there for weeks. I know I wasn't there yesterday!" Your brows furrowed at this as you stirred the ungodly amount of sugar into his cup.
"Then I look at the clock and it's six already! And that's not right 'cause I just woke up. Then I go meet Dylan and wait, and she never shows so I-"
You handed him his cup.
"Thanks. So I call her, turns out its Sunday. Our....our date was two days ago!" His voice wavers. " I think I've been- I don't know, blacking out? Loosing time? I get back to my flat, give not-Gus a few sprinkles, and drop the chocolates I got. Then I notice drag marks on the floor. And that doesn't make since. I never move that table. So I follow them, and poke around and found a loose board above me. I reach in and find a key and the phone here." He pulled the phone out of his pocket.
"I looked through it, just a bunch of missed calls from the same person. Layla. Then they call. I answer and she calls me Marc. Which is crazy right? Just like the dream! Of course I tell her I'm not him and she hangs up. Then I hear this voice telling me to stop looking, to stay away. I was sure it's was an intruder but I look in the mirror and my- my reflection shakes it's head. On. It's. Own."
He took a breath, "Then the wind started throwing stuff across my flat, and there was this awful looking t-thing chasing me and-"
Your stomach dropped. You knew instantly what he was talking about.
"Wait. Hold on." You set your tea down. In all the time you had sensed the entity you had never felt that it held any sort of aggression towards Steven. This was new, and this could be bad. "The bird-man tried to chase you?"
 "Y-You've seen it too?" Steven looks at you, pure shock etched onto his face.
Oops.
You didn't mean to say that, you didn't want to freak him out more.
You set your cup down and took a breath, cringing as you elaborated. "When I met you I could... sense the entity but couldn't actually see it- until recently. "
"And you've- you've never told me? Its been following me this whole time?" He looked down at his tea, hurt.
You sighed, " I wanted to. But it can be a bit hard to tell someone they have an ancient entity attached to them. It never seemed to have any ill will towards you, in fact I got the feeling it was more protective. If I'd have thought it would have threatened you I would have mentioned it. I'm sorry Steven."
He sighed. "No, its-its okay, just- its a lot. Do you-" he glanced at you, "Do you see... things like that often or..."
You nodded, looking down at your forgotten tea. "Yeah. I have... my entire life."
"So it's a bit like a 'Sixth Sense' thing is it?" He gave you a soft smile, his dark eyes glistening. You almost let out a breath of relief at this. At least he wasn't too upset with you.
"A bit, actually." You chuckled, before becoming serious again. "Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt. Go on."
 "N-No its fine. It just- it chased me into the elevator. When the doors opened and you were there I thought...I thought you might have been it."
You couldn't for the life of you understand what could have happened to make the entity's behavior change so drastically. You had no idea if any protection you could offer would work against something so old.
His voice wavered when he began to speak. "But the mirror...and the dreams...I'm-I'm not sure how much I see is real anymore."
It hurt you to see him like this panicked, and scared, and that you couldn't do anything to help him. His eyes began to tear up again.
"How do I know..." He paused. "Are- are you real?" Your heart broke when he looked up at you, uncertain. You set your cup down and took his hand, beginning to caress the back with your thumb. His eyes widened a bit at your gesture.
"Yeah...yeah, I'm real." You weren't sure what to do. What if he wanted you to prove it? If his dreams or hallucinations were just as vivid as reality, you couldn't. Instead, he released a breath in relief and to your surprise let his head drop to rest on your shoulder. Your heart pounded, and you hesitated a moment before resting your head on top of his.
You weren't sure how long you stayed like that, tracing your thumb against his hand, and listening to his breathing settle. You weren't sure how else to comfort him, but you wanted to do something. You hoped your company could at least provide him some comfort.
"This was...this was nice, having someone to talk to. Feels safe" He was tired. His voice was softer and slower, and his speech was more slurred so it would have been easy to miss what he said next:
"You make me feel safe." You were a bit surprised at his comment but relieved. You were glad you could do something for him, even if it was just that. Another moment of silence passed between you.
"I-I should go." He suddenly lifted his head and stood up, suddenly flustered.
"Are you sure you'll be alright?" You weren't sure if it was a good idea. What if he blacked out? What if the bird-man did something to him?
"Yeah...I'll- I'll be fine." You walked him to the door, as he fidgeted nervously. "Thanks. For the- well, for everything, really."
"I'm happy to help!" You opened the door, and Steven stepped into the hallway.
"Laters!"
"Steven, wait." You ducked back into your flat and grabbed a scrap of paper. You quickly scribbled on it. "I-if you need anything, or if something happens again, just text me okay?" You nervously passed him the paper. He took it and glanced at it, eyes widening a bit.
"O-oh." He blinked, "Yeah...yeah I will, thanks... Laters gators!"
"In a while, Crocodile" You smiled fondly at him as he perked up a bit at the saying. He gave you a wave, which you returned, and walked off towards his flat.

5. Saying Yes
I don't really know why I said yes to Glen when he'd asked me on a date. I don't really know why he asked. I was obviously a tourist and not a particularly striking one. Maybe he liked the transience; knowing that I'd be leaving with no attachments. Maybe I was just feeling good after a couple leads in the investigation.
On the way home, I'd tried to use the code I'd found in the car's radio and I'd gotten a surprising message.
Tumblr media
I tried twice and got the same error each time, so I switched to normal radio for the drive back into town. I checked into my motel room and opened my laptop for the first time since falling asleep on the plane.
I had a new email.
Thank you for your recent visit to Sunda Systems Eden Springs Campus! Please consider filling out our visitor satisfaction survey!
I hadn't remembered giving them my email address. But the more I thought about it, my memory was a bit muddy. I had filled out a sign-up sheet for the tour. Had email been on there?
I clicked the link underneath and was taken to a short form.
1. How was your visit to SSESC? 🟢 Excellent 🔘 Good 🔘 Fair 🔘 Disappointing
2. Did you see everything you wanted to see? 🟢 Yes 🔘 No
3. Was your tour guide friendly and welcoming? 🟢 Yes 🔘 No
I laughed a bit at that one.
4. What demonstration will you remember most? 🔘 Laser Show 🟢 Sapphire 🔘 Audio Bath 🔘 Sound & Screen
I didn't recognize that last one. It must have been what the group did while I was sneaking around.
5. How long did the sapphire hold your attention? 🔘 It didn't 🔘 A moment 🔘 A while 🟢 Unsure
6. Can you picture it now? 🟢 Yes 🔘 No
7. Do you want to see it again? 🟢 Yes 🔘 No
I must have spaced out around here. When I came to, there was just a screen thanking me for my "Submission". Something about that word tickled something in the back of my mind, and I smiled. I took a little time off of research to... relax myself.
But when I dove back in, I knew what my first step would be. I opened up Re:Mx's library of codes and searched Error Code 174G-00F2.
This station is not available in vehicles without self-driving capabilities.
What?
That made absolutely no sense. Determined to get to the bottom of this, I opened up Re:Mx on my laptop and entered the code. Immediately, my headphones began to play music. It didn't seem overly distracting. I didn't see any reason why a car wouldn't be allowed to play it. In fact it was nice.
Relaxing, almost.
I decided to leave it one while I did some other research.
I searched "Sunda Systems Mirrorball" and got no results. However, the company directory listed Office LOR 4-19 as belonging to a Christian Powell. A search for him revealed a journal article from nearly 15 years ago titled "The Effects of Diffracted Light on Neural Pathways". Sunda appears to have hired him barely a week after that publication. Since then, he's published nothing.
Tumblr media
I groaned. I could feel myself getting sleepy just thinking about reading a scholarly article. I'd done it many times before for my work but I never enjoyed it. They were all dull and boring. I was yawning already.
Still. On the third page there was some text I found interesting, highlighted here:
Tumblr media
Something sinister was going on here. I was surer of it with each uncovered piece of information. I yawned again and closed my document. I needed a nap before my hot date tonight. I'd make sure I squeezed him for all he could give me. Emily was counting on me.
I unplugged my headphones and let the relaxing music play over the speaker as I drifted off.

I can only assume that in worlds with dragons that there are two possibilities wrt: Hoards.
1: Everyone hoards things and no one talks about their hoard in hard facts. No one sees another dragons hoard until they either raid someone or decide to live together (either bc siblings or bonds or mates etc). So reputation management is done through seeing how busy they are in gathering things. How fiercely they guard things. How much their minions talk about their wealth and power.
2: Everyone hoards things and everyone shows off as much as possible. Everyone knows exactly how much and of what you have, because being cagey about it is a good way to get raided bc either you're weak/have nothing or you have nothing/are trying to look better off than you are. Which means you are probably not strong enough to keep others out of your territory. Being the richest also means you instantly become the guy everyone wants to fight to try to make off with SOMETHING so you essentially get to square up on sight if someone looks at you funny and no one would be surprised.
Both of these options are good for different kinds of stories. But they're also both hilarious to imagine on an interpersonal level.
Because to be able to know if someone is making shit up about their hoard you... really have to go see it in either case. But in one system it means sneaking in/risking a turf war. In the other it basically guarantees that dragons socially let one another into their treasure areas as a pissing match that they also cannot socially decline without damaging their standing.
And this opens up a delightful subsystem of a thing I can only assume dragons love: lying.
Because it would be rude to ask how deep the bed of gold coins is on the cave floor. It would be rude to actually shift treasure around to see if the piles are really twenty feet high or just a few inches over some stone shelving. It would be deeply, horrifically, abysmally rude to insist on inspecting the glittering gemstones spilling from their containers for imperfections like bubbled glass.
So no one does. And no one says anything about this sort of suspicion. That would be rude.
But it would be just a terribly suspiciously awkward situation if a dragon didn't show off their collection.
So of course select stones are offered to be gawked at. Of course you can test the weight of a chest of their coins, freshly plundered this decade. Of course, of course.
Which also means young dragons very quickly learn that you raise in social esteem less by having a large hoard, and more by being a good museum tour guide.
Which also means they're more likely to be picky about treasure. Which means anyone wanting to appease or bargain with a dragon needs to either know their shit, have literally the best thing possible, or be a very good salesman.
Which is probably how dragons end up with servants tbh.

And each evening, as the sun dips behind Mount Lycabettus, the question lingers: How should people react against the silent killer of gentrification that one day finds you with your suitcases at hand, silently forcing you to leave your home forever?

skyfest day two! (passed out once the music show was over haha)
Tumblr media
the first talk was about designing at scale for sky, another talk on the festival system but from the overall design perspective! this presenter was incredibly fun to watch, and i had a great time seeing all these tools that sky uses behind the scenes.
Tumblr media
we saw everything from prototypes,
Tumblr media Tumblr media
to the ways that flow is controlled in such a space,
Tumblr media
and some beautiful stress tests. i highly recommend going and watching reruns as they show in the cinema during the birthday celebrations!
Tumblr media
this is my favorite graph from the presentation. it is a breakdown of the emotes during the concert. each spike is during an intermission, where aurora guides the audience to react.
next was the guided art tour, and i was joined by @serenefork and @3-slugcat-pilots-7-ornithopters for a portion! unfortunately the area had quite a few bugs, so i left early. the good thing is that this area will be open as well during the rest of skyfest.
Tumblr media
next myself and serenefork paused and made an eden run haha.
next was a presentation on the art of sky. i get the feeling it had very similar content to what’s in the actual art book.
Tumblr media
another 2 hours later, there was a talk on reducing toxicity. it gave a great glimpse into how journey and sky were created, and how sky’s social aspect emerged from journey’s peer to peer up to sky’s MMO design. it was a great look into how spaces can be designed to foster positive experiences.
Tumblr media
and quite a few meme-worthy images were in that presentation. very silly and good.
finally, the live music concert. i completely believe that this was a stress test of their new streaming and memory system, and it was very cool. the only issue was that skykids get excited and like to fly. they flocked to be on top of the musician and i firmly believe the little ember mode (where skykids are turned into points of light) should have been utilized here.
Tumblr media
you could hardly even tell that there’s a person in there. i am grateful that at the beginning they mentioned the ability to turn down sound effects so that you can hear the music above the honking. i would love to see another attempt at this, with improvements in place to allow for a better viewing angle for all.
either way, this was a lovely day and i’m glad i got to see everything! and don’t forget, you can visit the office and visit ALL the places usually locked behind IAP. the aurora concert, the little prince area, the 9 color deer, and the nintendo area too! happy 5th anniversary sky!

RTV Tour, Part 3: Orion’s Pov
part 1 , part 2
── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──
Things had happened so fast.
One minute, Orion had been walking through a (mostly regular) studio tour. The next, someone had shot at the tour guide. Triggering the security system to lock everyone inside.
Safe to say. Things had gone bad very, very quickly.
The screens flicked off after the ai sent its message. Or rather, it’s threat. Orion looked around the room as everyone chatted amongst themselves. Trying to come to a decision on what to do.
Sure on one hand. They could try and wake up Mr. Puzzles and have him turn off the security system. But who’s to say that would work? Better yet, what exactly was he going to do when he’s up again? Besides maybe call off the murderous ai threatening them. A good half of the group had just defended someone who just shot him. Orion had a bad feeling there might be some group punishment in that action. Even for those not involved…
On the other hand. The security shutters blocking every possible exit looked fairly dense. And probably wouldn’t be broken through easily. Trying to find a way to bust through or find a gap it hadn’t covered would just waste the little time they had…
Then there was SMG4… Orion glanced over at the man. The same person who shot Mr. Puzzles. Orion didn’t know too much of what was going on, but they had spotted his face in wanted posters before arriving at the studio. Something about him going insane and attacking his friends? Despite that, Orion hadn’t noticed him joining the group. Which felt a bit unsettling just thinking about it. How long had he been there before he…
They shook their head, clearing their thoughts. Despite how they felt about this guy. Orion already knew surrendering him to the ai wasn’t going to be an option. Not with the way people had gone out of their way to protect him.
So with all that in mind, Orion had come to the decision that it’d be better to try and shut off the security system itself. With Lucian’s help, surely they could get it done. Right? At least without anyone getting maimed in the process.
“I don’t know about you guys… But I’m all for going to the control room.” They took a few steps towards Lucian. Signaling their own choice in the matter. They could only hope that it was the right one…

ShyReader failing to confess to Jonathan Kent
Reader has it BAD for Jon, but always hesitates at the last minute- they go to Hamilton High!
gender neutral Reader, longer than usual ( 1300+ words ) (A LIL ANGST, BE CAREFUL YALL THIS ONE IS NOT SWEET)
- - -
~~~1
This is it. It's finally here.
Jonathan and Y/N have been assigned together for a book report. Jonathan's bread and butter as the son of two star studded reporters. He is rambling off the intricate symbolism of each character and the deliberate scene descriptions. You give him your 100% focus. He asks you what you thought of the protagonist's struggle. You give him a few "Uh Huhs" and nod while keeping eye contact, but not too much.
 This is your chance.
Then he asks if you thought the conflict was a narrative on human nature or if the story events were due to the difficulties they faced for survival. He follows it up with how you think the story would play out if it was updated to modern times with current cultural influences. You try to stutter out a satisfying answer. You want to impress him and have meaningful conversation on par with his. All you get out is a quiet "yeah that would be different."
Your make or break.
After mentally slapping yourself on the forehead for that pathetic response, you take a deep breath to deliver your real thoughts. Though none of them are pertaining to the novel assigned. Jon notices your anticipation, looks at you, and waits. You understand this is him being polite, giving you a chance to speak your mind, but all it does is make the one ounce of courage you had falter.
And it's gone.
Instead you spit out a question from left field.
"Board for the book?"
"What?", he says.
After more awkward silence, "A-are we going to do a board,  like uh    uh a poster board for the book report?"
This sparks his brain into high gear. He is dishing out ideas left and right, ripping a page out of his notebook to start a brainstorm and design. You keep letting his brilliant mind cook into what you assume is going to be a A++. The teacher always favored Jon and his work. This report will be no different, but this was more than just another report for you. It was a chance to get closer and maybe let him know how you feel.
Now all you feel is it slip through your fingers.
~~~2
Your class group shuffles through the metal detectors and turnstiles. Your guide is waiting up ahead for everyone and your teacher is reminding people to stay in a single file for the security screening.
The annual trip to the Museum of Natural History is underway. The long bus ride is finally over and you all get to stretch your legs. Seating was assigned by the 'who is less likely to cause trouble if seated together' rule. You spent the last 3 hours looking out the window while the student next to you put their hoodie up and over their smuggled headphones blasting music.
Thankfully, your biology teacher was kind enough to let students pick partners for the "buddy system" for lunch break. Safety First, of course. You planned to ask Jon to be lunch buddies 30 minutes before, as scheduled. But as the tour goes on and on, that seems less likely.
The exhibit is big, but the group is even bigger. Every junior enrolled in a science class is on this trip and due to college requirements, that basically means everybody. The dinosaurs around you are dozens of feet tall and the students joke that Jon could probably touch it no problem. He is the tallest of the entire junior class, after all. Meanwhile, you are still struggling to see what they're looking at. Is it a Spinosaurus or a Stegosaurus???
You keep falling to the back of the group as bolder students push their way forward to the next best thing. The tour guide doesn't wait up as she too is on a schedule. The school staff is at the back of the group, keeping watch for any stragglers that get "too curious". You try to keep up, but the mass of humans keep rushing past you. Every time you try to push forward, find Kent, and ask him to be lunch buddies--- it doesn't happen.
The introduction tour comes and goes. The 30 minute window comes and goes. The cafeteria is in sight and people find their people. For once, out of knowing him for years, you can't find Jon. The biggest of the bunch and you have no idea where he's gone. Your bio teacher is required to do a head count for their class before and after the cafeteria, so he must be somewhere?? How did he get past the headcount and disappear?
You feel a tap on your shoulder and your heart speeds up. You turn your head quickly to the tap to see-   your busmate. They haven't found a lunch buddy yet and saw you. You sigh (but not too noticeably) and agree. You eat your chili dog in sorrow, but promise next time will be different.
~~~3
This is it. You're finally here.
Graduation Day.
The bleachers are stocked full of friends and family waiting to see their little munchkin walk the stage. These are the people you spent 4 whole years with. These are the people you grew up with, during your most important adolescent years. These are the moments that will last forever.
Staff and valedictorians give their speeches. Students stand up and earn their diplomas. The sun slowly goes down and the ceremony comes to a close. You all turn your tassels to the side and give one last cheer. Hats paint the sky and fall back to the field grass. It's all over now.
It's time for the next chapter in life.
The first thing you want to do is talk to him. This time you are going to break out of your shell. No matter what he says, at the very least, you can have the closure of knowing you tried.
And there he is. Only two people in the world that you know of are that tall. Two dark curly heads poking above the crowd. You start walking. You start MARCHING.
This time you're done. Right now, space is the only thing getting between you and Jonathan. It WAS going to be different, really!
You finally make it and find him. He is with his mom, his dad, two elderly people you assume are his grandparents, and two other people in suits with an embroidered 'W' above their breast pocket.
Your mind goes blank.
You give him a quick congratulations, laugh and smile, then formalities are forgotten.
"Jon, can I talk to you please?"
The attention you draw is suffocating, but peace is granted when Jon's mother pushes her son forward. She does something with her eyes you don't quite understand, but you're grateful for the gesture either way.
You move a little ways farther from his group for some privacy and just go out with it.
"I'm so happy w-FOR you Jon. Great job. We did it.... so uhh   What's next?"
*STUPID!! AGAIN!, think before you speak Y/N!!!*
Jon starts talking in his cute way about how he's going to go to The University of Metropolis to study journalism like his parents and work at the Daily Planet--
 "Wait... Metropolis University, Daily Planet?"
"Yeah, I want to follow in my parents' footsteps and be a reporter!"
"In.. Metropolis?"
"Yea! They have a great program over there, classes start soon. I'm so excited!"
In an instant your heart shatters. Jon will be gone... within MONTHS. It sounded like he already committed to the University, but... how could you not know??? Why didn't he tell you?? Why didn't anybody tell you...
Before you let the tears show, you quickly congratulate Jon again and vanish into the stream of graduates and families.
You will never be with him. You had your chances. YEARS ago. Now, it's all gone.
You hope he leaves. You hope to never see him again. You hope to find the only peace your heart will ever find, in solitude.
Supreme Sorcerer Pope
I recently watched the entirety of Jujutsu Kaisen anime & movie. Overall, it's enjoyable. Yet while watching the heavens suddenly opened up to me as a light came down from the sky, igniting my poor lobotomised brain with knowledge.
The Catholic Church is a front for European sorcerer society
I am not insane; I'm just correct; there's a minor difference. Firstly, tame your expectations, as I am here to shatter minds, not do thorough research. Although there are several indicators to prove I am unequivocally right, the sources include the voice in my head.
✯ A PRIESTS ROLE IN JUJUTSU SOCIETY✯
Let's get this gay once and for all. Both in Japan and in the Catholic Church, there is a clear ranking system ranking all sorcerers from grade 1-4. Must I add that the catholic alpha males underlings (Priests) must undergo insensitive education, what are they learning? Domain expansion.
Church goer — Grade 4
Nun — Window
Priest — Grade 3
Bishop — Grade 2
Cardinal — Grade 1
Pope — Special Grade. Because curses are weaker in Europe, it makes sense the Pope would live so long. When he is killed in battle, the Pope is replaced by another, who then becomes the head of the church and a special grade sorcerer.
Europe is big, so Priests rest after exorcizing curses. Churches are small bases of operation that allow Priests to operate and gather people in once place for a church seminar. Suguru Geto has proven it is affective to use religious fronts to amass curses and rid them. Priests change out every few years/months, the switch indicates they have a new mission.
✯ RELIGIOUS SCHOOLS ✯
In Episode 2 at 12:57 Gojo dumps some tasty exposition and slurping that up we can comprehend that Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College is known to the public as a private religious school to keep a low profile. The location is out of the way and secretive. Only a select few people are allowed in or out. It acts like a hub for Japanese sorcerers. The Vatican state, although not a super sneaky organisation (I'll get to that) is very guarded, while guided tours exist. Only the clergy and the Swiss guard are allowed to reside there which is 764 people, even less have access to the entire facility that's a front for sorcery. It acts like a hub for European sources. Although there are a lot more priests than Japanese sorcerers, priests are low ranking, which reflects on the types of curses they exorcize.
✯PROOF OF CURSED ENERGY IN THE BIBLE✯
In the cool book that is the Bible, it is common for people to hear the voice of God or the Devil, or even see demons. In this case, what the Catholic Church calls demons are just curses.
The Bible doesn’t explicitly tell me about an instance where one person sees a demon while another does not. However, there are parts where people perceive things that may or may not exist, for example; demons, angels, voices appearing to interact with someone. This was before schizophrenia was discovered, so it must be a curse!  In Luke 4:35, Jesus commands a demon to leave a possessed man. The demon recognizes Jesus, but the people around might not have seen the demon itself. Meaning Jesus is a sorcerer, the demon in this case a cursed spirit. In Daniel 10:7, Daniel has a vision of a man, but the men with him do not see the vision. Instead, they are overwhelmed with fear and flee. Some people cannot perceive curses even close to death, while Daniel could. Jesus’ Transfiguration: In Matthew 17:1-9, Peter, James, and John witness Jesus’ transfiguration and see Moses and Elijah talking with Him. The other disciples do not witness this madness. Jesus simply used his curse technique. The last point from this sections is brought to you by today's sponsor gateway.com. Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb. There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush… This can be explained simply as a form of cursed energy. Whether or not I'm implying God is a cursed spirit or a jujutsu sorcerer or even a being of faith, It is left up to interpretation and a theory for another day.
✯ HISTORY OF EUROPE✯
Although I haven't researched the fall of the Roman Empire, curses probably had something to do with it. In times of trouble, we turn to the Bible… Which contains many stories that can be linked to sorcery.
The church has a rich history of demons angels; demons, while being fallen angels in the cannon, are actually just curses. Catholic teachings are set up around living a life free of sin and moral teachings, which is an insanely smart excuse to subtly limit negative emotions and normies cursed energy under control. No wonder priests wear dresses, their jobs are so much easier than in Japan. The most compelling form of evidence is just the simple fact exorcisms are still preformed. According to the BBC In 2018, there was a notable increase in the demand for exorcisms, particularly within the Catholic Church. In Italy alone, it was reported that around half a million people sought exorcisms that year. The Vatican even held a special training course for 250 priests from 50 countries to meet this growing demand. To learn how to identify demonic possession, to hear personal accounts from other priests, and to find out more about the rituals behind expelling demons. That just sounds like normal sorcerer business to me… Back to the Bible, we can connect many events that happened in the Bible to cursed energy and curses.
Noah's Ark is a very famous Bible story, how in the seven gates of hell do you fit two of every animal in one boat? Simple, actually, Noah used his cursed technique to create a pocket dimension within the boat.
Although it is known that God sent down the 10 plagues of Egypt. All 10 plagues are just curses sent by God. Water turning into blood, frogs, boils, hail, darkness, and the death of a firstborn… All sound like an average curse activity. Moses has several stories from which he can be proven to be a sorcerer, When the Israelites reached the Red Sea Moses stretched out his hand and the waters divided, allowing his followers safe passage.
Jesus is Europe's equivalent to Tengen-Sama. Jesus died for everyone's sins. It is not a stretch to think he used his cursed energy for this goal — Similar to Tengen's barriers. Jesus would protect all of Europe's Jujutsu Society. This could also explain paying, but then again, what is a pray if not raising a vail? Gojo and Geto clearly recite a mantra before putting up a barrier in Jujutsu Kaisen 0.
Although it is unknown if in the universe of Jujutsu Kaisen if God and Jesus exist as physical beings or strictly as beings of faith, both would be beneficial to humanity. The church and Vatican work to spread their influence and teach God's values, which are often moral laws such as the 10 commandments. Belief in such morals would reduce negative emotions, resulting in weaker and lesser curses. Therefore, the Vatican is a public organisation to spread these teachings. To add onto this, many use God as a source of Hope and happiness, further reducing negative emotions. In conclusion: I will be absolutely burned at the stake for my theory. But just like Jesus, I will die for your sins of being wrong, while I am right.
After I had written this, my friend informed me cursed don't exist outside of Japan in the manga. My honest response is that the Supreme Sorcerer Pope is just superb at his job.
Another chapter for you of this Diary..
Bloodline Fate part 2…
Dear Diary, today is my second day in Chicago alongside the most incredible man this city has ever had...
- Good morning Baby Girl!
Who needs an alarm clock when you had this wonderful voice welcoming you into another morning...
- Good morning Hank.
I returned his greeting and gave him a kiss.
We got out of bed, put on robes, it was one of those cold days that cut through the skin... I knew it from the layer of ice on the window...
We went down to the kitchen for breakfast.. he opted for a simple black coffee, bacon, eggs and buttery pancakes.
My breakfast was hot chocolate with marshmallows, fruit salad, granola and yogurt.
We tried not to take too long, I could be on vacation, but he wasn't, at least he promised dinner that night
Tumblr media
We went back upstairs and started getting ready.
I opted for black pants and a black blouse, completing the look with shoes, a blazer and a beige bag.
Hank opted for one of his casual work looks, jeans, a shirt down to the cuffs, a scarf and a thick jacket to withstand the cold.
He hung the badge on one side of his waist, then went to the safe and took out the gun from the other side of his hip.
We left the house and went to his Black Suv, in the morning I would do some things alone, while he was busy with intelligence...
The streets of Chicago were covered in some parts, I took out my cell phone and posted a story on Instagram... I would come up with an excuse if someone called me in direct
Tumblr media
In 15 minutes we arrived at his place of work, the famous district 21 and intelligence center.
We kissed goodbye, but before going on my way, Hank placed two bundles of dollars in my hand, courtesy of his secret fund.
- Have fun and if you need help, know!!
- I call the toughest cop in Chicago...
- See you later.
We made an agreement for me to return at two in the afternoon.
My itinerary for the day was focused on luxury stores and bookstores, as soon as my stomach started complaining I found a pizzeria and filled my belly with one
After that I continued my tour of the city, ubers and the train system helped a lot in this process.. as a last place I stopped at a men's store and bought something for him.
I took an Uber and asked to be taken back to the 21st district…
Tumblr media
On the way, I sent a message, and was instructed to just go to Sergeant Platt and ask to clear my ticket.
Arriving at the district, I followed the instructions given by Hank and went to Sergeant Trudy Platt.
- I'm here to see Hank Voight, he said to talk to you.
- Name, miss?
- Elisa Stabler.
She picked up the phone and made the announcement, a few minutes later, he came downstairs and came to meet me.
Trudy gave a somewhat surprised look when she saw Hank plant a peck on my lips... He just gave a half-smirk and guided me to his office..
To my surprise, he had all his wits about him, possibly having delegated field work, to make the environment more peaceful for both of us.
I dropped my bags on the sofa and took out of one of them the gift I bought for him.
- For you, Sweetie.
He took the package and began to unwrap it, revealing the wallet, watch and belt kit that I had chosen.
- Look, I won't deny that I really needed at least a new wallet.
He took the wallet he had with him out of his pocket and started transferring the contents to the new one. He also asked me to put away his watch and belt. Voight threw the old wallet in the trash next door after finishing the transfer to the new one, which he put in his pocket.
He came out from behind his desk and came to me, held my face in his hands and we began a deeper kiss, I felt my face get hotter and my breathing became heavy.
My desire to stay there for a while was interrupted by an alert on his communicator...
He confirmed that he would go to the location, while caressing my lips with his thumb.
- Help me with the vest, Baby
- Affirmative Sergeant..
He smiled at me, so that his brown eyes took on a glow that to me was warmer than a mug of chocolate.
I gathered the bags and we followed the stairs that gave access to the vehicle area.
He helped me put my bags in the trunk, and then guided me to the passenger door, opening the door for me...
The journey to the crime scene was quick, because he knew I had an addiction to adrenaline, and he couldn't help but put a smile on my face.
It was a kidnapping in a grocery store... on the radio I understood that the criminal was holding the owner and his daughter at gunpoint...
Hank ordered me to wait in the car and I did. The entire operation lasted about 1 hour and a half... luckily for me, the Bandit gave in and ended up making it easier for Halstead, who fired a shot that neutralized the suspect, who was taken to medical care.
Voight returned to the vehicle and informed me that he would take me home, return to the district to finish the day's paperwork and in the evening I would organize myself for our romantic dinner at the best restaurant in town.
Tumblr media
The night was wonderful, starting when he came home and gave me a bouquet of red roses, I threw myself around his neck, motivated by all the happiness that invaded my being every time he spoiled me...
It took us 40 minutes to get ready and another 15 minutes to get to the restaurant…
When we arrived at reception, Hank informed the receptionist of our reservation, who guided us to a more private area of the place. We placed our orders immediately and in the meantime between ordering the food and its arrival, we had a moment of dialogue.
- What's up baby girl? – he asked smiling.
-your voice seems like a hypnotic mantra, I am captivated by in every word.
- You like my voice. He took my hand and wrapped his fingers around mine. – I've been thinking all day that this hand of yours needs some color, so I bought this here, consider it a promise ring.
He placed a white box in front of me and inside a beautiful sapphire ring, it shone in the light of the candles.
Hank took the ring and placed it on my finger, sealing the commitment with a kiss on my hand.
I got up from my chair and went to Voight and tried to return the gesture with a warm kiss. When I finished kissing him, I found myself lost in the glow of his brown eyes, they were warm and gentle.
- My God, your eyes are also an attraction in their own , in fact you are everything... sometimes it's difficult to put you into words...
Hank just continued to watch me, feeling victorious, realizing that he had me under his control.
At that moment, the waiters brought our order, I went back to my seat and we dedicated ourselves to enjoying our meal, which was heavenly.
Tumblr media
The day ended with us returning home and we finally had a more intimate and breathtaking moment…
I say goodbye to you Diary, tomorrow we meet again…
E.Stabler..
