“It’s too early to get up, let’s stay in bed a little longer,” Tommy whispers against Y/N’s skin as he places soft kisses along her shoulder and up to her ear.   

“The children will be up soon,” she sighs partly in pleasure and party in dread. As much as she loves the idea of staying in bed a little longer with her husband, their 2 kids like to wake up early. The first thing they do is come running into their parents’ bedroom.  

“I’ll be right back,” he tells her, getting out of bed. He finds a shirt and leaves the room.   

When Tommy doesn’t return for a few minutes, she moves to get out of bed to go search for him and start her day before the kids get up.   

“What are you doing getting out of bed?” He questions her as he walks back into the bedroom. “Get back in,” he softly orders her after closing and locking their bedroom door.  

“What is going on?” she questions him, confused as she moves back under the blankets. “What about the kids?”  

“Mary's got them,” he says getting back into bed with her. At the mention of one of their nanny’s names she relaxes and smiles as Tommy moves over her and kisses her deeply.

Almost exactly a year ago, September 2022, several mass graves were found and exhumed in the woods near Izium after the liberation of the area from Russian occupation. 447 bodies were found: among 414 civilians 215 were women, 194 were men and 5 were children.

Most showed signs of a violent death, oftentimes pointing to execution, such as rope bound around their necks and arms; 30 presented clear traces of torture.

Residential school deniers tried to dig up suspected unmarked grave sites at the former Kamloops Indian Residential School, not believing a May 2021 announcement from the Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc that as many as 215 Indigenous children had been buried there, according to a new report. Some came in the middle of the night, carrying shovels; they said they wanted to 'see for themselves' if children are buried there," said a Friday report from Kimberly Murray, the independent special interlocutor for missing children and unmarked graves and burial sites associated with Indian Residential Schools. He hated shopping.

"What, love?" he replied through gritted teeth, trying to keep his voice even. They'd been in there for twelve whole minutes; twelve minutes too long as far as Regulus was concerned. The sensory overload of screaming children and Muggles in their pajamas was making him want to gag.

But then he really wanted to gag, because James approached him holding matching Halloween costumes.

"It's EGGS and BACON!" James explained unnecessarily, excitedly waving the two obnoxious outfits in Regulus's face.

"No," Regulus said firmly, feeling like he was talking to a small child.

"But Reggie! It's so cute! Look, you can be the bacon, because-" James began to whine, smiling widely.

"Don't you finish that sentence with some sort of euphemism in the middle of this goddamn store, James!" Regulus cut him off, but he fought back a grin. "I will not be wearing meat."

James grinned cheekily. "You seem to have no problem with meat when it's in your-"

"Absolutely not, James," Regulus growled, blushing pink.

And then James threw him the most ridiculously cute pout- lip out, eyes wide, eyebrows pushed together, the whole picture.

Synopsis:

“As children, the world is innocent and bright. Creativity and laughter knew no bounds, curiosity and joy was plentiful. A right that every child should have…but not everyone is met with that luxury.

Her earliest memories, perhaps even before, was nothing else but needles and test tubes as injected by familiar yet distinct faces, wearing their lab coats. There weren’t windows or clock to till the time, the adults around Frisk provided her with the most basic needs as any other lab experiment requires. To everyone, she was alone. At least to the other scientists.

When the day those government bastards stormed in and rescued 7 year-old Frisk from that hellish lab, she dared not speak about her ghostly friends to any adult out of fear they do the same as her previous captors.

With no other family relatives to claim Frisk after her rescue, she grew up in the foster care system. While attempts have been made to give Frisk a proper home, it wasn’t easy to deal with her personality changes and sleepwalking for the adults. Therapy and constantly placed under new medication didn’t seem to help at all. The other children weren’t easy on Frisk either, finding her creep when they catch her talking with no one in particular. School was even a bigger issue as she struggled to understand any sort of subject, often lagging behind with incomplete assignments.

It came to ahead where Frisk had finally aged out of the foster care system and decided to drop out of high school to find work. It wasn’t easy, especially as the older Frisk got, the bigger the burden her ghost friends became as their power grew.

But maybe life isn’t as cruel as she imagined. She got a job at a local cafe/bar joint owned a the married couple, a female Fire Elemental and male Spider monster type. They were nice enough to offer a room for her to rent in their apartment in exchange for her photography skills and encouraged her to get a GED. The ghost kids even seem to have settled down their childish behavior as well. Noting that they help her remember orders and use their ghostly powers to clean and move objects. And Frisk also has herself flirting with a familiar Skeleton monster who frequents the joint after her college classes.

How old is Hal Jordan really?

TL,DR: Hal Jordan was most likely mid to late 20s when he received the ring and approximately early to mid 40s when he became Parallax.

Few Notes:

I give precedence to mentions of aging + time passing in Green Lantern comics versus his appearance in others.

This will be pre Zero Hour continuity as he was retroactively deaged during that arc (and the timeline was shortened to 10 years).

I will be treating pre-crisis and post crisis Green Lantern comics as one continuity because the pre-crisis Green Lanterns survived the crisis

I will be assuming that at the youngest Hal was 18 when he joined the military because Hal has been shown to be rule abiding in that regard.

How Old Was Hal when he received the ring?

Pre-crisis, he was no younger than 28. Post crisis, he was no younger than 25.

In Green Lantern (1960) #36, it is established that Hal's best friend in the Air Force was a man named Bill who died in the Korean War. As this comic came out in 1965, if he joined during the last year (1953) of the war at age 18 (the youngest possible age), he would be 30 during this comic. While there was not any direct reference to time passing in issue 36, in Green Lantern (1960) #27, at most 3 and a half years had passed since he became a Green Lantern and at least two and half years had passed overall. This makes him no younger than 28 when he became a Green Lantern. This makes sense with other established timelines, such as the fact that Jim (Hal's "kid brother" as he calls him in Green Lantern (1960) #22) is already out of college and has been for a while and that Hal was complaining about kids these days in the 60s. He was written as an older character, with several issues contemplating on how much stuff has changed.

Post crisis, the main timeline changes happened in Green Lantern (1990) and the surrounding Green Lantern books. In Green Lantern: Emerald Dawn II #1, Hal is noted as having flown missions in Vietnam and for this to have happened several years before. In addition to flying in Vietnam, he was a test pilot which requires a college degree plus at least 3 years of military experience. He most likely was at the very least 25 during this point.

Timeline Mystery: When Did GL/GA Happen?

Green Lantern (1960) #76 (the first issue of Green Lantern/Green Arrow) most likely happened eight years after Hal became a Green Lantern.

This timeline assumes 3 years between Showcase #22 and Green Lantern (1960) #27 (the midpoint of the smallest amount of time possible and the largest time possible), takes note of the fact that there is a year between Green Lantern (1960) #42 and #52 (note: #52 is set pre Green Lantern (1960) #49, in which Hal self exiles himself from Coast City). In addition, it assumes 3 years between Green Lantern (1960) #49 and #74, taking into account the several six month/year long time mentions in those issues and the fact that Tom had three children within that time frame.

There being eight years between Hal becoming Green Lantern and gl/ga makes sense, especially since in Green Lantern Corps (1986) #201, it has been five years since GL/GA and in Green Lantern Corps #215, it has been 12 years since the start of the Solar Director arc which started in Green Lantern (1960) #8, which was over a year since Hal became Green Lantern but less than two.

How Old Was Hal when he became Parallax?

Hal was, at the very least, 41 when he became Parallax. He was at the very least 40 during Green Lantern (1990) #1 and there was a year long period between Green Lantern (1990) #1 and #48.

This number bases on the fact that he was at least 25, and there is fifteen years between Green Lantern: Emerald Dawn (1989) and Green Lantern (1990).

Hal being at the very least 40 makes sense because during this era he was supposed to be older. In fact, Adam Strange even teases him about going cosmic in his old age (Green Lantern (1990) #38) and he's called old by Guy (Green Lantern (1990) #25). Hal even complains about how much his back hurts and how it didn't hurt this much when he was 30 (Green Lantern (1990) #32). He's supposed to be older than this era, the one people look up to, the one who is tired of always doing what is right but hurts himself in the end. His age is an important aspect of the narrative. Erasing this weakens what the passage of time and growing up means to him.
