related to my last rb tho i'm gonna be a bit of a hater again, tho, and say it. you are all very lucky that steph was written as good as she was back in the 90s. all the issues (the jealousy, the not as compentent as male characters, the mistakes, the unreasonableness, etc etc) could have, in fact, been way worse. and might've been, actually, under another writer at the time.

#(especially under a female writer oops)#she was treated. actually kind of pretty well for the time period.#and lbr. the sexism present in tim's robin comic is downright tame compared to other comics of the time #(cough superboy cough. i mean. i liked it well enough but let's be real.)#idk maybe because i can very easily separate in my head what's there just because it's 90s media & to be expected.#it's easy for me to see the ways in which she was treated narratively very well despite the 90s ways in which she wasn't #obviously i'm talking pre-2003 this is ignoring anything war drums on.#anyways i think it's important to discuss the flaws & biases of the era #but i also think it's important to understand the culture of the era in which things were made #i feel this was about drake parenting too btw #and the overall cultural shift in how parenting is done & understanding the needing for parents to be absent #for the story of a child hero #but also at the time there were differences in what parents were taught was best practice and what was considered good parenting #there's so much that has changed as far as best practice & considered good in the past 10 years let alone the 80s and 90s

[Before Law can get a word in edgewise explaining how he would rather not. Luffy's gone in a whirlwind. Or a typhoon. Any natural disaster that left the land devastated in its wake. Law is left standing in the middle of the cafe, clutching his phone as the door slams shut behind Luffy, the bell ringing his exit.

Law slumps into his stool, suddenly exhausted.

“Sorry about him.” Nami says sliding into the seat that Luffy just vacated, “He’s like that. Once he takes a shine to you, that’s it. He’s all in. He has no care about whether you want to be his friend or not.”

“We’re not friends.” Law mutters. Nojiko snorts into the mug she’s drying, “I barely know him.”

“I’ve been friends with him for years and I barely know him.” Nami responds with a shrug, “That’s just Luffy. Count your blessings that he likes you. People he doesn’t like usually get punched in the face.”]

eddie: gay, he/they (he’s not too bothered abt his gender, he isn’t cis, but they don’t really care to label it. “my gender is whatever tf i want, i’m me, i exist here, i’m metal asf, that’s all you need to know”)

will: gay, he/him

mike: bisexual, he/him

max: bisexual, demigirl, she/they

lucas: straight, he/him (speak valentina! ally!)

el: pan-romantic, asexual, non-binary, they/she (they were raised in a lab away from the rest of the world, they never really understood social norms, let alone fit in to them. being non-binary just feels right to her)

dustin: hetero-romantic, asexual, he/him

suzie: straight, she/her (while she grew up mormon, she is incredibly supportive and understanding, she’s a woman of science first, religion second. speak valentina! ally!)

jonathan: demi-pan-romantic, asexual, non-binary, he/they

argyle: pansexual, he/him but wouldn’t care if you used they/them (“gender is a social construct my guy! be who you are, ride the waves of gender until you land on an island full of your own personal happiness. life is short dude, have some fun, relax, eat some pineapple pizza”)

joyce: probably bi but doesn’t really know it, she/her (she used to kiss girls in high school, you can’t prove me wrong. specifically, i think her and karen wheeler used to make out behind the bleachers during gym. it’s a byers family tradition to like wheelers ig)

hopper: straight, he/him (a little confused, but supportive, he’d never judge his kids, or anyone of their friends. he may not fully get it but he tries. the party gets together once a week to try and explain lgbtqia+ topics to him. speak valentina! ally!)

Lewis Wilson and Douglas Croft as Batman and Robin in the first Batman movie (1943). The first episode of the serial film, "The Electrical Brain", was released on July 16, 1943.

The series is also the reason Alfred went from chubby to slim; he had a complete make-over to look like the actor who played him, William Austin.

Knowing Nico Robin will continue being so underutilized in future episodes is 90% of the reason why I can't bring myself to go back to watching One Piece.

#like in terms of intelligence and power she's supposed to up there #the show really should have treated her in the same regard as they treat Zoro and Sanji #her demon form was epic but it was only made a thing in 1000+ episode like that's too late #also I know OP is known for being very slow-paced #but didn't Oda say 5 years ago that the story is 80% finished?#soooooo can we please FINALLY get back to the whole Rio Poneglyph storyline and Robin learning the true history?

Ok so I havent had much of a chance to draft an LGBT history post focused on the 80s yet, but I know a lot of people expressed interest. Just to limit my scope I'm still gonna focus in on contextualizing stranger things with it, but I'm curious what would people find most useful in it?

My planned topics so far are: terminology (what words existed to describe yourself), symbols (what flags or other markers existed to flag your identity, usually subtly), attitudes (how was homophobia different), and major events (what would these kids have been seeing on the news?). Is there anything else people would love for me to cover?

I’ve got many gripes with the new (i know its not new NEW) Robin outfit for Damian i just cant enjoy it 😭

The black grey and red is all moody and gets muddy in the pages sometimes <- the yellow cape does not help . Shoes also look stupid I cant lie. Why is the inside of the hood(?) red but the cape yellow are they not connected? Why does he have so many belts w no purpose did Tetsuya Nomura have a hand in this and on top all that the mask is also ugly.
