The white knight universe really is something bc it has so many things I love like Robin Duke, red hood Jason with his own Robin, terry mcginnis, a cool as fuck art style and Bruce being questioned about if what he is doing is right plus holding himself accountable and then it's got things I absolutely hate like joker having children, cop dick grayson, the whole cops with batmobiles thing and Bruce and Harley quinn being a thing

I’m really pissed at the way Murphy used Duke in white knight because it is glaringly obvious that he knows nothing about the character (he knows nothing of worth about most of the characters he uses in white knight, but with Duke it’s especially egregious) and is instead just using him because he’s a black batman character that can support Jack being called the "white knight" (the white part is, of course, literally and in-canon stated to be because he’s very white and pale) so it'll seem less racist. Except he isn’t because it’s a stupid fucking choice and the politics of the books are awful and Duke himself has been removed from all things Duke and become basically just a racist stereotype for his awful edgy elseworld. It’s deeply disrespectful. The most Duke thing Duke did in this entire series is become Robin, and even then it’s iffy.

Look, I don't have anything against BatCat. It was my first Batship alongside WonderBat but Gotham War really didn't do their relationship any favors. If the failed wedding was bad enough, this arc almost 'Pauled' their relationship. I hope the next writer finds a way to rewrite write the main continuitiy Bruce to not be a black and white viewing self righteous deranged prick and Selina as less of a hypocritical gaslighting crime lord.

I don't hate Selina and Bruce together, I hate the way they're written right now because seeing them bicker like divorced parents rather an old married couple and act out of character ruins the appeal of their relationship.
