I think something I've been noticing lately is how queer men somehow get a lot of slack for shitty things they do simply because they are queer. There is this trope that straight cis men are the worlds shittiest creatures but the second a man says he is queer, then he can do no wrong. It's almost as if sexual assault/rape/misogyny is limited to straight cisgender men.
I recently dated a pansexual man who is probably one of the most egotistical, mysogynostic, narcissistic men I've ever met. At first, I told myself that it couldn't be true that he was queer and shitty at the same time because I felt this sense of shame that saying that a queer man truly is still a shitty person despite his sexual preferences would somehow make me homophobic. But I think that limiting this to straight men is honestly invalidating to those of us who experience it with queer men. I think that the belief that people who call out queer men on their shitty behavior are homophobic needs to be put to an end. Calling people homophobic or transphobic the second they say anything negative regarding a queer person is ridiculous, especially if the thing being said has nothing to do with the persons sexuality.

My thoughts on AI "art" because I was reading an article on it.
I believe AI ‘art’ is not art. No one should ever claim that what the AI made or told them to make is their original idea or claim that it is their art. It disgusts me to see people use AI for a process that is supposed to be creatively inducing. Even when art is ‘ugly’ in someone's opinion you still call it art because you can see the effort put into it, but when it is A.I. you cannot.
For example the from the article:

If a human were to paint this, no matter how ugly I think it is, I would forever call it art because I would be able to see the effort that was put into it. Since this is A.I. I do not see any effort, all I see is blasphemy and fraud.
If you want to make art the only thing you need is effort. If people can see the effort you put into the art it will forever be called art.
“Sculptures based on the tool's recommendations.” This from the article specifically made me livid. It’s one thing to tell the A.I. what to make, but letting AI tell you what to make is horrible. The people doing this will end up never being able to be creative again because of their dependency on the AI. When artists allow AI to dictate their artistic direction they risk losing the very thing of what makes art so deeply personal and human.
I don’t think AI can be creative, because it isn’t. A.I. “art” is what the AI thinks people will like based on art it can find on the internet which is plagiarism. AI does violate copyright rules and copyright rules are very outdated. I wish they would fix copyright rules but they don't. AI doesn’t “draw” it makes a collage of already existing artworks and turns it into something new. Those said artworks are copyrighted and if a human cannot make a collage of copyrighted artworks why should a robot? Human creativity is often driven by context, intention, and emotional motivation. AI is driven by nothing. Nothing can’t be art.
Modern and Abstract Art is a whole new discussion. “Art” like a dot on a canvas and splattered lines are not art because there is no real effort put into it. Yes, you made it, but did you really put any real effort into it?
Some people argue that “iT’s ThE mEaNiNg BeHiNd It,” I heavily disagree because what does a red dot even mean? Nothing. It means Nothing. You just want to make money in a way that insults many real artists.
Van Gogh, Picasso, Claude Monet, Frida Kahlo, Alfred Sisley, Andy Warhol, and Edvard Munch did not die for art to be as effortless as it is now.
Thank you for reading! Please tell me what you think about AI "art" and what you think art is!! If you disagree I would like to know why as well!

Would this be considered insensitive?
TW for alcoholism, SA, violence, mentions of SH and suicide, and stuff that idk how to word properly but has to do with cancer
So, I’m working on a zombie apocalypse fic called Luck and Zombies where four people with disabilities that would pretty much guarantee their deaths in an apocalypse end up hitting a bunch of insane strokes of luck that help them survive with minimal issues. They each fit into high school stereotypes that I feel would survive the zombie apocalypse the best, though once you get to know them better you see that they’re way more complex than the stereotypes they fit into. The four characters are Kelly, a type one diabetic who fits into the gamer stereotype, Alex, an amputee (he lost his leg in a car accident) who fits into the athlete stereotype, Jameson or “Jamie”, a severe asthmatic who fits into the chef stereotype, and Sierra, who has endometriosis and fits into the nature lover stereotype. So, onto the stuff I think might be insensitive or could get me cancelled once I publish this.
Note: for reference for some of the mentions of alcoholism and stuff, at the beginning of the book, Alex is 20, Kelly is 19, Jamie is 18, and the first chapter takes place on Sierra’s 17th birthday.
1. The cause of the zombies wasn’t any kind of virus outbreak or weird lab experiment gone wrong- it was caused by a cure for cancer gone wrong. Two biochemists the readers will meet later on in the series developed a foolproof cure for cancer that is just a few injections over the course of a few months. The first two shots actually get rid of the cancer while the rest just make sure it doesn’t come back. However, once it started being mass produced, big pharmaceutical companies started cheaping out on the ingredients and it resulted in it starting to turn people into zombies, and just like in any other zombie apocalypse fic, biting someone as a zombie causes them to become a zombie as well. I’m worried that people will think I’m trying to say that curing cancer is bad or that cancer patients are something to be avoided.
2. One of the most pivotal moments in Jamie and Kelly’s character arcs is something that happened before the beginning of the story. When Jamie was a junior in high school and Kelly was a senior in high school, Jamie got ganged up on and sexually assaulted by three guys much larger than him. Kelly saw this and fought the three guys herself, almost dying in the process. When she got to the hospital, she was in hypoglycemic shock, she had a collapsed lung and several broken ribs that needed to be replaced with metal implants, a dislocated shoulder that needed to be screwed in place, a severe stab wound in her abdomen that caused her to loose a ton of blood, a broken ankle and torn ACL in one leg, and a shattered kneecap and broken femur in the other leg. Once she returned to school, people were all over her checking if she was okay, but when she would mention that Jamie is the one they need to worry about, they’d just brush it off and say that since he was gay he “probably enjoyed it”. Jamie uses that experience to start learning martial arts so that if anything ever happens to Kelly, he can protect her the same way she protected him.
3. Alex, the athlete, while born in America, is predominantly Hispanic and Brazilian. Since he plays a lot of sports, he mainly plays basketball, soccer, and baseball. I’m worried people will think I made him play soccer because of his heritage and say that I’m racist when I just didn’t want him to play American football.
4. Sierra is Wasian (white+asian), specifically Japanese and American. A lot of Asian representation in media nowadays is Wasian so I’m scared people will say I’m just being lazy and forcing representation. Also, considering I made her Asian heritage come from one of the three countries most people think of when they think of an Asian country I’m worried people will get offended by that as well. Also, at the end of the book she develops uterine cancer that actually saves her from a zombie bite and the two biochemists who developed the original cancer cure are able to use her blood to develop a cure for early stage zombification.
5. Towards the middle of the book, Kelly develops alcoholism, and one day when she’s blackout drunk, Alex joins her and they have a chat. Kelly has very morbid humor, and she admits that when she started having suicidal thoughts in middle and high school, she stopped worrying too much about her diet because her diabetes would kill her if her blood sugar got too high. She jokes that she’s lucky she’s diabetic because most suicidal people have to do drugs or shoot themselves when all she has to do is eat yummy food and “accidentally” forget to replace the insulin pod attached to her arm once it’s empty. This one I am very worried about because suicide and drug use are very serious issues and Kelly makes an off handed comment about them while drunk. Alex tells her that it’s not okay to say that, but he’s laughing his ass off while saying it.
6. In the story, Kelly obtains twin pistols from a police station the four protagonists break into, and she makes an offhanded joke about “at least they’re finally going to good use” in reference to police brutality and police officers using violence when it isn’t appropriate to use it. Once again, I’m scared people are going to think I’m watering down police brutality- a very real and disturbing issue- to some kind of dark joke.
Overall, this book mentions some really dark themes, and while I feel they should have representation, I’m worried I’m going about “representation” wrong and being insensitive about this stuff. These are really important plot points of the story though, so if I am actually being insensitive I’ll likely have to scrap the story entirely.

Men who are/were victimised (because yes it can happen to men too)
Husk:
Abuser: Alastor
Status: Ongoing
Abuse:
• Modern slavery
• Emotional
• Financial (possibly)
• Being owned
• Physical
• Humiliation
Triggers:
• Intimidated
• Condescension
• Hypervigilance
• Volatile (particularly towards Alastor, than anyone else in the hotel; depending what the situation is)
• Witnessing another abusive relationship — ie Angel being struck by Valentino (bro nearly lost it)
• Alcoholism - not sure if this stems from his background or if it’s amplified by Alastor’s abuse
• Isolation
<> This is a little hard for Alastor to do within the hotel so I think he would let that slide — however, I suspect, he’d at least ensure that Husk doesn’t have any distractions that could cause him to leave his side— for example: let’s say entering a relationship with Angel Dust etc 🤭
Jamie Fraser:
Abuser: Randall
Status: Formerly (☠️)
Abuse:
• Physically
• Sexually
• Mentally
Triggers:
• Severe PTSD
• Repulsed by sexual activity (particularly with his wife - formerly)
• Smell of lavender
• Guilt-ridden (formerly)
• Dissociation
• Hallucinatory visions
• Closed off
Stolas of the Ars Goetia
Abuser(s):
• Stella
• Paimon
• Striker
• Blitz (verbally)
• Andrealpus
Status: Ongoing, slowly healing
Abuse:
• Physical
• Sexually - forced, by Paimon, to have sex with Stella to procreate an heir for the Goetia family (didn’t matter what his 🏳️🌈 sexuality 🏳️🌈 was)
• Emotional
• Neglect (as a child)
• Mentally
• Psychologically
Triggers:
• Closeted
• Hypersexuality
• Stockholm Syndrome (via Blitz)
• Socially awkward (via different variations of abuse)
• Flinch at the slightest
• Clingy
• Helicopter parent (to Octavia)
• Love-bombing
• Financially (via Andrealpus)
• Institutional
<> Not offering choice or promoting independence
Gale Dekarios:
Abuser: Mystra
Status: Determinant
Abuse:
• Emotionally
• Sexually (Groomed)
• Religious
• Stockholm Syndrome
Triggers:
• Manipulative (subconscious)
• Love bombing
• One-sidedness (on Mystra’s part)
• Clingy
• Lack of affection (romantically)
Angel Dust:
Abuser: Valentino (mainly)
Status: Ongoing
However, I do theorise that the other two Vees are involved as well, but more indirectly, like you have Velvet’s “love potion” specifically for date-rape for victims and then you have Vox with his cameras in Angel’s dressing room; so basically a key witness to the ongoing assault or even just watching (?) him get undressed which is also another violation — since he’s visually participating — of his privacy.
Abuse:
• Sexual assault
• Physical
• Modern slavery (via pornography & sex worker)
• Mentally
• Emotionally
Triggers:
• Hypersexuality
• Depersonalisation
• Masking
• Reliant on drug substances
• Unpredictability
• Stockholm Syndrome (severe)
Lucifer Morningstar:
Abuser: God (his father)
Status: Formerly
Abuse:
• Self-neglect (to himself— if in a really bad way)
• Emotional
• Neglect
• Domestic violence (psychological)
Triggers:
• Lack of affection
• Commitment issues
• Incapable of love
• Masking
• Abandonment issues
• Favouritism
• Broken family (via parents splitting up)
• Hypersensexulity
• Reliant on drugs and alcohol; to numb any sort of positive feelings
• Daddy/mommy issues
• Helicopter parent (when it comes to Rory 😂 )
<> Because of the lack of affection his father never gave him; spin cycle repeat
(Okay let me just acknowledge that despite that these no longer exist anymore, because of some very tense therapy thanks to Linda Martin — but it still doesn’t change the fact that he WAS abused at that point)
Astarion Ancunín
Abuser: Cazador Szarr
Status: Formerly (💀), semi-healed
Abuse:
• Physically
• Modern slavery (formerly)
• Mentally
• Emotionally
• Neglect
• Psychological (Act 1)
• Sexually
(Not directly to him but he was forced to do sexual acts against his will, which is a type of rape)
• Domestic violence (psychological)
<> It was stated that Cazador thought of his (s)pawns as “family” so I guess this goes under this category
• Institutional
<> Cazador no doubt had planned Astarion’s death (by charming a group to attack him) so he can use him as a pawn after turning him into a vampire
<> Discouraging visits or the involvement of relatives or friends — so basically not allowing Astarion to socialise with anyone except for the ones he was forced to sleep with
<> Not offering choice or promoting independence
• Financial
(Not confirmed but implied — perhaps that’s why Astarion chose the rogue class or maybe he was already one by the time Cazador came to him)
<> Someone moving into a person’s home and living rent free without agreement or under duress
Triggers:
• Physical contact — very selective about who touches him, unless it’s those who are in his inner circle; like his friends, family or partner (determined by if he stays as a spawn at the end of the game)
<> Scar tissue — speaking from someone who actually has scars on my body I can assure that he most definitely has what I call ‘tingles’ and it’s both annoying and a little painful on certain days (particularly in colder weather)
• Moral standards (Act 1)
• Masking
• Hypersexuality
<> Although it’s a little different to Angel Dust’s; Astarion is actually hyper aware of what he’s doing but suppresses his loathing and disgust to force himself through it due to two centuries of habit
• Repulsed by sexual acts
• Eating drinking disorder (HC)
<> I’d think if I was starved of my food sources I’d develop some “eating” — or drinking habits — if I was a vampire habits. Or maybe he personally chose to do intermittent fasting (which can be mistaken for eating disorder but they do two different things)
• Claustrophobia (implied)
<> Due to a traumatic experience of being entombed for an entire year for disobeying orders
#it’s a shock to see how little men can be victims too versus women in the film industry#I feel like this is not talked about enough#the fact that Astarion’s victimisation is *’worse’* than Angel’s is speaking volumes in itself#traumatic experience#real life stories#it can go both ways#sad but true#fictional characters#victimisation#controversial topics#advocacy#tw: abuse#equity#sexism#Spotify#SoundCloud

Okay guys.
This is where we need to have a talk….about this

People have ships and it's what a fandom does(relating to the comments on this post)
Are people THAT oblivious? Yes they can be misscharatized but- people have their own personal views on things and there’s nothing wrong with it
My headcanons tend to be - not canon as people wish a HC would be,
It pisses me off knowing I would get attacked for my views of the characters
I can have my mentally ill gay shit-🧍♀️
Sometimes - Read the creators posts I swear sometimes yall just want a reason to argue and hate
"Rody isn't a uwu sweet boy" no he isn't and we know that
He's a buff mentally unstable guy who's trying his hardest for a girl that isn't going to get back with him
Vince isnt a yAnDErE as a lot of people tend to say(same people as rody being a uwu boy)
He's insane. He's got MENTAL ISSUES-
The ship could work in some way But in most timelines
It won't
Bc rody is focused on Manon, and Vince would probably end up murdering rody,
But what do I do?
Headcanon TIMELINE. where eveything has its own works as a FANDOM WOULD??
Do people not know what fandoms do other than “ruin” charaters?? It’s genuinely annoying
people are going to be SUCKERS for gay shit- (as one who loves those ships myself AND a proud rodent shipper.) there’s nothing more to to, people are going to focus on what they find cool and cute, there’s still canon ish content.
Honestly. You don’t like any of the fandoms works? Get over it.
That’s a fandom, a fandom creates content for a thing they like, and it’s gonna have people who mischaracterize the charaters. And that’s how it always will be, THINK OF SANS AND PAPYRUS- sans had been dumbed down to a depressed emo for the LONGEST time and paps got seen as a cinnamon roll, as a fandoms goes on, they tend to drift toward the more canon personality,
But ofc It’s more appealing with the fandom twist, so leave them alone
Thanks for reading, have a good day.

Their Opinions Matter
Everyone tells you at least once in your life: “Don’t let their opinions get to you.” Which, on a normal day, would be annoying to hear when you’ve just taken something personally. However, it’s time to start listening to others’ opinions. Here’s why: 1: Constructive Criticism When you get others’ opinions on things, you can essentially see a different view of the subject at hand. For…

What is freedom, if it is freedom to not offend
What is Freedom of expression? Without the freedom to offend, it ceases to exist. - Rushdie
According to the real definition of the right to freedom, the right of freedom says that an individual always has the freedom to express themselves even if it offends someone else’s opinions. This offensive nature is an inalienable part of the expression of freedom. Politically, the right to offense is an inalienable part that can be protested peacefully and not by killing or harming individuals with different opinions. Building upon this thought of freedom of speech which may or may not include the freedom to offense. Offense and controversy are parallel words. When discussing the concepts of offense and controversy side by side, it’s important to understand that "offend" is often associated with robust debates and meaningful discourse. However, these controversial conversations can sometimes have an unintended impact, offending sensitive and vulnerable groups. To fully grasp the concept of offense, it is essential to explore and understand both sides of the coin—those in favor of offense and those against it. This balanced view helps us better understand the offense, seeing it as something that can spark important conversations while also recognizing that it can hurt people. Only by analyzing both viewpoints can we form a well-rounded understanding of its impact.
On a personal note, it’s important to acknowledge that, in our younger years, we are often naïve, which may prevent us from recognizing that conversations around controversial topics don’t necessarily offend people. Engaging in such discussions often reflects open-mindedness and a willingness to learn and grow. Offense, after all, lies in the perception of the beholder, shaped by their experiences, beliefs, sensitivities, and their perspective of life. This thought can be further supported and justified by the book The Satanic Verses written by Salman Rushdie. In the book, Rushdie argued that there exists a freedom to express oneself even if it offends others which illustrates the democratic and open society. He also states that views, perspectives, and different opinions are believed to exist in isolation rather than in social space. This dynamic change keeps a society open, democratic, and capable of change. Often while having open discussions on controversial topics, people around us might get offended by our different views but these are the times when we don’t have to think twice and have to be free while expressing our feelings.
According to my opinion, offending is right to some extent. Offending someone can be perceived in two distinct contexts. The first is offering a reality check, where offense is unintentional but serves as a way to help someone recognize an uncomfortable truth. The second involves responding to arrogance or a superiority complex, where offense may arise as a reaction to someone’s haughty behavior. Offending someone might seem unfitting, but in the situation of regular interactions, it can sometimes be necessary, whether directly or indirectly, to assert one’s boundaries and prevent mistreatment.
Elaborating on the point of never intending to offend someone but ending up offending individuals due to standing up for oneself. This is something that brings forward and highlights the tension between self-expression and societal sensitivity. Even with the best intentions, standing up for oneself can unintentionally offend someone, particularly when beliefs, values, or identities differ significantly. I believe in respectful communication while working. However, people have the right to discuss any topic, including controversial ones, which means some offense may occur in these conversations. With freedom of speech comes the possibility of offending others, and individuals should feel liberated to talk about tough subjects openly. Rushdie in his book states that being offended is not equal to being harmed. Offense is subjective, what one person finds offensive, might be informative for another.
These discussions should occur in a safe environment, with a clear warning that they may be sensitive, to encourage the sharing of different opinions in our society. We also encounter the diverse perspectives that individuals hold onto and carry much later in their journey. The best-fit spaces are those where social science is discussed in a large context, i.e., the places where societal structures, institutions, and human behavior are discussed.
Last but not least, the intention is never to offend but to preserve the values of truth and justice. Standing up for oneself or addressing injustice is a courageous act that may unintentionally challenge others. Yet, it remains essential for cultivating fairness, equality, and a society built on mutual respect and understanding.
