Also, I don't mind people to reblog my stuff or "steal something" unless it's my songs, stories or something like that. I mean that content it's under copyright laws. But still that kind of stuff happens. Sadly Internet makes things like this difficult to track and properly sue someone. I'm also too lazy and too busy for all that drama 💀

Plus, ideas and stuff on the other side area bit too vague to be stolen. See how many Cinderella versions exist just to say something. It needs to be something very specific that affects the person to make it feel like there's something to lose. I've been there. Done that. My point is, as long as long as people know that certain content belongs to the rightful owner and as long as people keep talking about who is the real author and who wrote/did that. I feel safe and happy.

TBH I'm quite simple minded sometimes... I'm also happy to see someone recognizing my efforts. After all there's this saying...

Besides, I have tons of ideas to share. And you cannot steal those cause I handwrite them. And almost no one understands what I write lol hell sometimes I have issues with my notes too lol so now y'all see why I'm not really worried.

Also the reason of this post is because someone tried to use me to badmouth on someone else and turns out it wasn't true. Let me tell y'all: I do not tolerate that kind of behavior. So if you're badmouthing someone, tell them to their face or I will bring them into the conversation since their point of view it's also valuable and they have the right to defend their names. I don't like bullies.

Also, back to the topic~ it's totally crass to say that something belongs to you when in truth it doesn't. Especially nowadays with so many ideas on internet. Go, grab some, make a milkshake of them. Make an actual effort to create your own stuff because it feels amazing. I can swear on that. Speaking of which~ I remember one of my favorite quotes, in a movie (Pixel Perfect) that goes somewhat like this:

Humans can bleed, and they have to go to school and learn. And make an effort. Unlike computers, everything is a struggle for us. But when we do it. There's no feeling that can ever replace that.

Or something along the lines 😜 I can't remember the exact words. But watch that movie and tell me if I got it somewhat right or no, I'll even edit this whole thing for you💖

I have always find out that putting an actual effort into something it's quite beautiful. So, make an effort. Don't steal steal from others😉💕

The Account of the Gardener (Part 1)

The old man knelt down on the wooden floor. Aching knees, tired mind, but a smile on his lips, his vitality unmatched even in his twilight years. His wrinkled hands, the color of russet brown, slipped into green gloves stained with crumbling dirt. 

Delicately, as if cradling his firstborn child of long ago, he picked up a single pot of polished clay, and the plant within. Iridescent, painted like classical pottery. With gold trim and authentic pigment.

The Gardener thought the aesthetics were a bit much. But he worked on the plant regardless, admiring the beauty that lay within. His eyes, 'restyled', bright and emerald green, looked the plant over. Through the machinery incorporated into his senses of sight and scent. Humidity, growth, physical deformities, pests reconfiguring fluid channels. 

Disease. Most of all.

They called it the bee orchid. Ophrys apifera. Petals of bright purple, surrounding a complex arrangement of growths, light browns, greens, and patterns. It vaguely resembled, for man and bee alike, the noble insect of its namesake. They were famed for their beauty throughout much of the western half of the Old World—as far north as Denmark, as far west as Iberia, as far east as Iran. In Palestine and Turkey, it was one of the many flowers whose roots were made into that flour called sahlab. One sometimes added to drinks or puddings, to warm hearts in the winter.

Aesthetically pleasing, multifaceted.

Rarer and rarer, even back in its own time. Even earlier in the century, much of the flour was synthetic.

The boss, old Lawson, was taking to a new fascination with the plant. He had specifically entrusted the Gardener with the task of maintaining his newest acquisition. Six new flowers, imported from a dealer in Izmir, in pristine condition. Bought with billions upon billions in cash.  They'd come in on a private aircraft, sealed in their own air-cycle to prevent Lima Blight from choking it dead. The soil it had come in had been checked to the most minute specification—the loam itself was worth twice its weight in gold.

It was one of those flowers that was in his hand at this very moment. And on whose inducement was this all for? The inducement of Lawson's son.

The one who was to succeed old Lawson on the board of Mack-Rasmussen. The one running a gardening vlog to a world of dead soil and starving billions, to grant them entertainment both against the point of gardening, against the Gardener's advice, and more than a little falsified. Corporate propaganda for the elder, too. Proving the Company's agricultural finesse, in an age of sealed farms, ecological collapse, and famine for hundreds of millions. The Lima Blight had, unfortunately, wrought greater havoc on the world than mere flower-wilting.

The old man had to do the dirty work, of course. For the flowers. Even after all this time, he felt complicit. But it was all he could do. All he could do with his skills, simply because he entertained them. They paid him handsomely. And they were the only ones keeping him from deportation.

Before, he'd been a gardener for a public school in the provinces. Back home. Tending the pechay and the beans that kids had lovingly and excitedly planted to give them something to take care of. While they were busy with their academics. At least with them, it all meant something.

He'd left that behind a long time ago. He had nothing to go back to. He wasn't sure how he could go back. The junta didn't care well for refugees. And they danced to the Mack-Ras tune anyway.

He loved them all, these plants. This collection of the Lawsons'. All 134 of them. They were stuck in the same lot he was; paid, until they got tired of them. The younger Lawson was perfectly content to let them rot when they were no longer popular with his millions upon millions of eager fans. Showing all of them off for his own benefit, but keeping himself the star of the show. 

Despite it all, the old man maintained them. Trying to ration, as much as possible, the precious decontaminated water that kept them alive. The fertilizer. The detoxified soil. Even as they slowly crept into obscurity, away from the Kid's attention.

The light filtered through the windows. Dusk sunlight through special, smart tint. Part of it was actually a computer-controlled screen, making it look more 'natural' than it was outside. Less awfully, harshly bright. What ozone layer was left was insufficient; it couldn't be enough if there were barely any plants or algae to fuel it. Even with all the lighting aid, the old man squinted. 

The augmentations filtered out most of the light, but they came too late to really change who he was.

This one plant in his hands reminded him of something. He loved it most of all. 

It was a relatively harmless mutation. Hypochromatism. One that made it all white. Pale and sickly. A yellow labellum. 

Only the younger Lawson's whims kept it alive now. 

Or, they had. Once. ================================================ Sorry for not uploading all that much! It has not been a very good time for the Sophie; workload-wise and emotion-wise. ^~^ Still isn't actually. I have, like, three different exams to cater to. Hence why I decided to post Part 1 early, before I complete this short story. Hope you appreciate this little slice of madness! Weekend-nya cewek anggun minum teh, MERANGKAI HATI BUNGA yang super gemash!

Dulu saking gabutnya, pas tau libur kuliah itu bisa sampai 2 bulan disuruh cari kegiatan sama orang tua. Akhirnya pilih kelas menjahit pakaian wanita selama satu setengah bulan, gak dilanjut karena pusing banget ternyata kalo nyambil kuliah. Pencapaiannya sampai sekarang baru bisa buat 1 baju buat sendiri, itupun gak dipake karena dulu ngasal beli bahan kain. Gak nyaman puuwoolll! Dipikir-pikir juga ternyata lebih enak beli baju jadi, lebih murah dan lebih rapih ^^

Emang anaknya gak bisa diem juga buat isi waktu luang sekalian kabur dari kerjaan, jadinya weekend cari kegiatan yang belum pernah dikerjain sebelumnya. Ketemu akun Instagram Kisah Hari: Creative Class yang menyediakan berbagai macam kelas disetiap weekend nya, kalo gak sabtu ya minggu. Kelas baking, flower arrangement , pottery, dan kelas lainnya disediakan dengan harga yang affordable sih kalo menurutku. Sempet galau mau ikut kelas baking cromboloni (kue yang paling viral saat ini), tapi karena jadwalnya gak pas sama waktu luang jadilah yang paling cocok ikutan kegiatan MERANGKAI BUNGA.

Yesh. MERANGKAI BUNGA, guys!

Kegiatan MERANGKAI BUNGA lho ini, nyiram tanaman dirumah aja males-malesan dan ini malah akan banyak interaksi sama tumbuhan bungaaa. Deg-degan rasanya.

Tempatnya memang dibikin kayak buat cewek-cewek cantik yang hobi ngeteh sore-sore dan bau kue yang manis gitu vibes nya. Crew nya bikin rules pake dress code nuansa pastel. Seketika hati sanubari ini bilang dalam beberapa jam kedepan harus menjadi perempuan seutuhnya karena didalam ruangan banyak cewek-cewek yang cantik nan anggun.

Meyakinkan hati bahwa semuanya baik-baik saja sampai akhirnya acara dibuka dengan beberapa sambutan dan kami diberikan demo sebagai awalan 'How to Arrange Flower Bouquet Nicely'. Instrukturnya kasih materi saaaangat sabar kepada kami para newbie, dan saking sabarnya instrukturnya ngasih wejangan, 'Jangan dibandingkan buket punya sendiri dan orang lain, semuanya juga akan membuat buket yang bagus'.

Saking takut para pesertanya pada depresi kaliya wkwkwk

Setelah nonton demo dari instrukturnya, kami mulai mengambil bunga secukupnya, isi air di busa, dan kegiatan lainnya yang ternyata melelahkan. Pantesan aja kalo beli buket bunga suka mahaaal, iyalah selain bahan bakunya mahal, ya harga wrapingnya juga mahal. Kadang suka mikir kerjaan florist tuh gampang kayaknya, eits ternyata salah~

Keringetan? Yak!

Cemas takut gak berhasil? Ya, sempet kepikiran kalo masih gak bisa beresin ditempatnya, aku bawa pulang dan bilang mau dilanjutin dirumah.

Kesalahan sudah mulai bisa dikoreksi saat sadar kalo daun-daunnya belum dipetik, harusnya sebelum tangkai ditancap ke busa daun-daun yang bawah dipetik dan cuman disisakan beberapa aja. Instrukturnya juga baik banget ngasih saran ini itu biar pas bunga nya di wrap gak susah.

Yah intinya, kegiatan merangkai bunga ini perpaduan antara seni, healing, dan pinter baca situasi kalo bunga nya lebih indah ngadep kemana baru tancep ke busanya. Jadi gak heran kalo liat florist suka mandang bunga sambil diputar puter karena lagi nyari point of view si bunga itu cantik kearah mana. Faham ya sekarang hahaha~

Selesai rangkai dan wrap buketnya, kami disuguhkan air teh hangat dan cake yang tampilannya sayang banget buat dimakan.

Oke, saatnya berpendapat dari kegiatan weekend ini.

Flower arrangement ini salah satu kegiatan healing yang bisa dikerjakan sambil santai guys. Kalo healingnya rusuh kayaknya gak akan bisa selesai. Peserta bisa menikmati proses dari awal sampai akhir, memilih bunga yang menurutnya bagus dan mekar alami, melihat cantiknya bunga satu demi satu pertangkainya. Paling penting dari semuanya, diakhir kita harus menghargai apapun hasil bentuknya karena dibuat oleh diri sendiri.

Hidup ini juga mirip, kayak gitu. Bayangin aja satu tangkai bunga itu adalah satu masalah dihidup kita. Ambil satu tangkai, potong daun dibawahnya kayak cut off apapun penyebabnya. Kalo ternyata penyebab masalahnya adalah kita sendiri, perbaiki dikit dikit adalah jalan yang paling baik.

Lanjut putar puter bunganya lihat sisi cantiknya kearah mana, sama kayaknya dalam satu masalah ambil hikmahnya. Pasti ada! Cari positif nya dari masalah itu kearah mana. Baru deh settle bunga di busa, tetapkan diri juga sesuai hati.

Intinya, HEALING INI NON RUSUH, NON DIBURU-BURU!

Dido! 😄 An artist's work is a reflection on how they view themselves, the world around them and how they coincide. An additional thought with that said...what are the reflective messages in your art that brings to others, and yourself? Darkness; Light; Truth; Escape; Sobering? One factor that separates an amateur artist to a professional is consciously choosing your creative content's message. I'm personally a very spiritual, idealist who was raised with very practical and realistic upbringing. So for me, I ideally need to keep a balance of using my creative art skills practically alongside keeping my core morals and values priority. 😊 It's a huge challenge, but not impossible! i keep seeing things about people being upset at how long production of season 5 stranger things is taking and it just. it feels like nobody who is complaining understands how long a show can take? writing alone with editing to make sure it’s up to par can take a while if they are not working around the clock (see: a writers strike that the whole industry took part in because they are unionized and if they were working on a script then they would have been Scabs) and then on top of that having to get time for actors who might be booked and busy since they also need to work on projects (see: why euphoria is taking forever to film since they have a lot of in-demand actors who need to all have schedules free at the same time) and THEN having to work around Covid restrictions before that (because people were in fact dying severely which I think people don’t think about any more since it isn’t taken as seriously)

not to mention I’m not sure if they were greenlit for the the season prior to the season filming. Like I know some shows used to get greenlit for x amount of seasons and now at least I think because of the stink with Firefly (getting aired weirdly and then canceled mid season) we at least get a full season At Least before any show gets canceled (and Netflix has been know to just cancel shows anyway at seemingly random)

tl;dr I’m fed up with people not understanding it takes a while to make good creative content and it’s making me want to stay off the internet for a while.
