Hey, so I made this account because I thought it was the best place to reach you for this. I was able to attend EVO2024 and got to talk with a lot of the devs for 2XKO. I thought you'd like some of the insights I found based on your latest Braum trailer reaction.

When asked about the more pastel style for the new beach background, they said they were experimenting with slightly different styles for Bgs and seeing what fits (they also mentioned how the map felt like a breath of fresh air given how little moving parts there were in comparison to the others). They actually have a whole post-processing system in place for backgrounds to quickly adjust color values, shadows, and lights in case visual noise does become a concern.

You were also spot on with the difference in facial bone density between Braum and the other more serious characters like Darius or Illaoi. Braum was specifically modeled for that expressive animation fitting for a strongman.

Interestingly, a lot of the LOR elements from Braum's kit were actually a necessity in redesigning his move-set for a fighting game. Designers needed to come up with new ideas to fill in certain gaps in his playstyle, and looked to LOR and other media for inspiration. This feels a lot more natural then Riot forcing the homogenization of the leauge universes which I do not think was a factor in creating Braum afaik.

A final thing I'd like to add is there are actually very few animators working on the project (around 3-4). Since 4-5 champs are constantly being worked on at the same time, animators are constantly jumping from champ to champ as bits and pieces of each character's kits get finalized-- which I thought was a very cool pipeline structure.

Me, watching some NPC blame Yugo & his people for the "sins of the Mother" for the nth time :

Grougalorasalar is so out of line in this chapter! Even that luscious hair and those defined abs don't blind me to his faults!

The audacity of Rasalar to imply those artefacts don't belong to Yugo, Adamaï and co. I'll admit that the Eliasphere and Eliacube are from the Mechasms (stolen, given, rented or whatever the current canon says) but the DOFUS ?! The Dofus Eliatropes are literally those kids' spawn points ! What are they supposed to do when their siblings are still incubating?

Here's your daily reminder that Yugo is living his best Explicit Married Life with his baby siblings stuck on his chest and at least two of them will remember all they could perceive from their Dofus once they're out... but who's judging?

Rasalar has no mercy. Everyone is catching strays today! Let Qilby rest in peace, he's back in his Dofus now. That reptile is so rude! Did he even know any other Dofus Eliatrope to talk about this family like that? I would have loved to see a verbal battle between Qilby and Rasalar. The sass would have been 📈📈

My, this dragon really said "I hate you and your entire bloodline" in 10k words or more. He had been preparing his diss track since Ogrest spat out his Dofus. You know Mewing Lizard was just waiting for Yugo to grow up just to trash him without being accused of bullying kids. Bro had so much resentment toward Yugo and the eliatropes, you'd think he'd taken lessons from Oropo, the poster boy for daddy issues. Is it Rasalar's Euphoria era or something? Was his name Lamar all along ?

In all fairness, it makes sense for a Twelvian to be so against the eliatropes being on the planet. These artefacts and some Eliatropes caused chaos all over the World of Twelve for centuries. Yugo's edgy alter ego had some involvement in Ogrest's Chaos and Nox's vain project to use the Eliacube. Then, there was the whole mess with the necromes and now, it's almost confirmed that Goddess Eliatrope had a hand in the death(?) of all the Twelvian gods. Not that they were much involved to begin with, apart from creating half-gods. How very Olympian of them!

I might get hate for this but, the Twelvian rulers were right to demand the Eliatropes and all their inventions leave the World of Twelve (Seasons 2 and 4).

The monarchs had more to lose keeping the Eliatropes on the planet. Ignoring the more peculiar concerns like where to put all those kids (back when there were thousands of them in S2), who would pay for all this and such, national security would have been the top argument to kick the Eliatropes out. The Twelvian Council had "proof" that the Eliatropes were a threat to the local population, and that was without knowing Oropo's origins and his involvement in Ogrest's Chaos. As rulers, they are accountable for the lives of thousands (current and future generations). Their duty would call for those rulers to deal with the problem asap. Because, if they didn't, the population would be sure to remind them of said duty (riots, vigilantism, civil unrest, coup...).

Apart from late King Oakheart, the monarchs had no deep involvement with the Eliatropes, no positive interaction not tainted by a bad first impression. All they knew was that their respective kingdoms were put in danger because some "wakfu-powered alien children" and their "long-lost, overbearing, self-righteous and possibly unstable" Goddess Mother had decided to crash-land there and open the door to the Necrome menace.

Since the Eliatropes cannot leave the planet without draining it of Wakfu (Season 2, Qilby), keeping the artefacts out of reach from both the Eliatropes themselves and the Twelvians would be the next best thing. It seems Rasalar might be justifying his actions with this thought.

HOWEVER, I disagree with the idea of giving away the Eliatrope collectables to Rasalar. So far, no one has proven worthy of properly using the Elia-artefacts or even keeping them safe.

On one hand, the Twelvians are easily manipulated or tempted into misusing any powerful artefact like they already did with the Primordial Dofus, the Eliacube or Shushu weapons (e.g. Nox, Ogrest, Toross on his planet, Pinpin and other Shushu Guardians). The Primordial Dragons and their Guardians would lose these items, like they often do with their own Dofus (Grougalorasalar & his siblings). Master Joris helped in hiding those treasures away (OAVs) but failed because of Oropo's brotherhood. Regardless, he is currently the ambassador of Bonta, whose queen dislikes Eliatropes. What would he do, should the Bonta queen and queen consort command him to hand over the items?

On the other hand, the Eliatropes, the rightful owners of most if not all these Eliatrope collectables, don't have the cleanest track record either. Qilby is out of commission for some time, but nothing says for sure he won't try to use the Eliacube again, even with his last-minute "redeeming arc". With some Eliatropes living among a population with mixed opinions about them, who is to say one of the Eliatropes won't turn into the next Qilby, Oropo or Bouillon in a few years or in a few generations?

Adamai seems to have good decision-making skills but most of it lies with his fear - fear of losing control, of making the wrong decision. He is so unsure that he'd rather not act because he also fears what Yugo would do with the powerful items (e.g. OAVs and Season 3).

Yugo is...Yugo. He has matured a lot since Season 1, but, he mostly thinks with his heart. From this, he would act on what he believes is right, while pushing aside the very real and often negative consequences of his choices and actions. He is a brave warrior and overall a kind person...but his very dichotomic view on right and wrong could make him a questionable ruler when political acumen is preferred over sheer might.

Right now, Yugo is still reeling from his confrontation with Oropo and the fight against the Necromes. With the tasks of caring for two kingdoms, maybe we'll see him make those hard decisions. However, as he is now, I cannot imagine Yugo not using the Eliasphere & Eliacube to try and "be a hero", if push comes to shove. The webtoon made that PG-13 plot armour disappear, opening the door to not only some Yumalia fun but potentially to explicit death and gore. This means that, in the webtoon, Yugo with his current mindset could try to "save everyone" only to fail miserably.

Yet, the webtoon has just begun. There is still time for some kind of evolution for his character development. Although, given the title "The Great Wave" and the state of the world in Waven, I'm not holding my breath.

As long as he doesn't end up alone on a planet destroyed by his own hubris, Yugo is good to go!

What I don't understand is…why now? It's been months (?) since the Battle against the necromes. Why does Rasalar want to talk, scheme and let out his grievances now that everything is relatively quiet? Is it because it took time to reunite all the Primordial Dofus? Was he spying on Yugo and the others to gauge their strength before attacking? Was he on his training arc to master the Primordial Dofus before confronting the Eliatrope twins?

Rasalar demanding those Eliatrope limited edition items be like

The audacity of this walking crocodile bag! Who does he think he is ? I know Spicy Lizard didn't just demand those sacred Elia-McGuffins! I know the genius who lost his Dofus, not once but twice, didn't just ask the Eliatrope artefacts and even added a tight deadline and a menacing debt collector (goth queen Julith 🖤).

That guy?! Who would give anything so dangerous to the very dragon who couldn't keep his Dofus safe from fusing with a baby (Maître Joris) and later could only watch as a crying toddler (Ogrest) gobbled the egg down? Be for real !

And now Rasalar is threatening people ?! This guy needs to disappear TODAY ! I'm saying this as a totally unbiased person who has no favourite at all. If this dried-up reptile hurts my beloved child Amalia or little Grougal and Chibi !

One too many people have been talking big just because they got some Kinder eggs stuck on their back !

When I say devastated, I'm not exaggerating.

When we started these I literally said 'these have to be perfect because if they're not, the fandom will riot'

And I was right.

Rightfully so, of course. This set was expensive. International buyers especially because they had to pay so much more in shipping. I don't blame them.

When I made the joke post about Andrew being listed as a backliner, that was the only issue I was aware of and on my AFTG Twitter timeline people were joking about how mad he'd be and I posted it thinking it'd ease any tension. When we announced the series I was posting in the same manner and bantering with people about the series, and thought this would be the same. I wouldn't have posted it if I'd known how many other issues there were. Either way I was wrong and the guilt I feel over making this situation worse is eating me alive.

I created content for this fandom for years. I've made incredibly close friends. It saved me in a lot of ways. The love I have for those people and these books and Nora is soul deep, and I wanted to badly to give something back to the fandom that gives me so much joy. To think people think there was no care or thought put into these is soul crushing. I understand not everyone will like them. That's just the business. But we worked alongside Nora to try our best to bring really beautiful editions for people, including checking in with my AFTG circle to get opinions on design.

I'm so incredibly sorry. I'm so sorry for the post that was insensitive about the whole thing. I'm sorry for the mistakes. I'm sorry these were less than perfect. I'm sorry people who haven't even gotten their books yet are already disappointed in them. I'm not trying to make excuses here. There are none. We fucked up and we have to have accountability for that because we HAVE to learn from this. Our readers are priority number one and we let them down in the worst way.

We're going to make it right the best way we can, and I know some people will still be mad. Again, I don't blame them. We're not a rich company. Heyo, thanks for the ask!

So, Sunny's merch used to be made in part by Suburban Riot, a small company in which the founders were friends of Rob's (of Mac's famous RIOT shirt fame and many other of his iconic shirts, which they used to sell as merch), and in part by FX's own design team, which modeled merch off the clothes or events from the show. (For example, when The Gang Broke Dee aired, you could go to Fox's website and buy one of the "Jokes on Dee" shirts that looked identical to the ones they wore on the show.)

Here's some idea of what their merch page used to look like (Screencap from ~2015):

Around the time of the Disney acquisition, the merch was all moved to Disney's control (and I understand Suburban Riot has now been assumed by another Company anyway...but they seem to still be selling Dick Towels, lol) and IMO you can see the shift in quality and the kind of merch they're inclined to make...

I did not mean to say/imply that all of the Sunny merch now is bad, I actually really like some of the designs (the Christmas sweaters especially), but it's clear a lot of the merch is a formulaic design made to be reprinted across different products. Aside from the stuff that's just pulled off the Season artwork (that has no connection to the season, anyway), my gripes about the merch really lie with how it's clearly designed not for fans of the show, but to appeal to the widest market:

I think the most egregious and obvious example of this is the "bowling" shirt they put out after The Gang Goes Bowling. In the episode, the girls have their team jerseys:

Awesome. Kind of a no-brainer to sell these as merch, right? Well, sure, but statistics say Sunny is a boys show and boys like blue and the numbers also say t-shirts sell best, so let's make it a $70 blue t-shirt that looks like a bowling jersey to sell to the boys instead:

And while they still sell some t-shirts "from the show," it all looks like bootleg merch for some reason..? Like, it is your show, why are you altering the design slightly as if you're afraid to get copyright sniped??

Just make and sell the ACTUAL DESIGN.

You know, I actually think that the memes and the quotes are sort of a natural extension of our political views. I'll explain but it might get a little long. Stay with me here.

Firstly, I want to say that I think this way of perceiving politics is so fundamentally wrong.

"Anti-BJP", "Pro-BJP", "Anti-Congress", "pro-congress" etc etc. This isn't a cricket match where you're rooting for your favourite team. Politicians, as a general rule, are a bunch of liars. They lie to gain power and control. It's OUR duty, as CITIZENS, to keep them accountable and in their lane so they actually do their goddamn jobs. That's how the democracy is supposed to work. If they don't do their job properly, you vote them out of the seat. They work for us, and not the other way around.

In India, we grow up with this idea of not questioning your elders. Papa ne keh diya, bas keh diya. As children our natural instinct of curiosity and inquisitiveness is stifled. We go to schools and the same pattern follows. Don't question the authority. Keep your head down and colour inside the lines. We internalise this lesson to colossal degrees. Is it any wonder that we all struggle with critical thinking? If you're spoonfed "the correct answer" your entire life, you never learn to find if what you were told is correct or not. This exact thing is used by all politicians across the entire political spectrum. They use our learned behaviour of deferring to authority and never questioning power against us. The leader of the country becomes the patriarch. Papa ne keh diya, bas keh diya.

I have various issues with various political parties in India, in fact. I have no love lost for any of them. I don't exactly believe in unconditional loyalty to politicians.

Since you brought up the BJP, let's talk about that. My biggest issue with them is their politics of communal hatred. All they keep yapping about is hindu-muslim this and hindu-muslim that. For what? They could spend their time talking about actual issues but the low-hanging fruit of stoking communal hatred is easier to grab onto. Remember when the British did the same thing? It was bad then and it's bad now. All this unrest just to get votes. Imagine fucking up the mind of an entire nation like this and then demanding to be praised for it.

Their foundational roots are from the RSS and that entire organisation's existence is just insane to me. It's even more insane that they managed to go from a fringe ideology to becoming mainstream. "Hindu rashtra", it seems. Who even wants that? WHY do they want that? Is it such a bad fate to live in peace and harmony with other religions? A lot of their talking points are about how much they hate the islamic nations and how those are horrible and then they want to turn around and do the same thing?!? Is the hypocrisy not clear? So what if other countries are religious states? Why can't we try to be different? Maybe I'M the stupid one for thinking all humans are the same that we should treat everyone the same. Who knows.

There are also a bunch of other issues that the BJP has racked up during their rule. The demonetisation disaster, mismanagement of government funds to create public infrastructure, letting the interests of billionaire business ruin PROTECTED FOREST AREAS for mining coal that they didn't even need, introducing and passing HORRIBLE bills through the parliament without any thought or discussion, literally ignoring the plight of people dying in riots, CORRUPTION, destroying the public sector and letting for-profit capitalists free reign in a country which has practically no proper labour laws, aiding in creating a historical record of INCOME INEQUALITY that is higher than it was during the fucking colonial era, fucking up the press even more somehow to the point where they control all of the media houses.

This is not even scratching the surface. I could keep going.

My issue is not whether people vote for the BJP or not. Even if you like the BJP, my issue is that people seem willing to turn a blind eye to all the issues with the government and not even hold them accountable for it.

Vote for whoever you want. My only request is to keep your government accountable. Keep the power in check. The politicians should be SCARED of the citizens fury if they do something wrong. They shouldn't be free to do whatever and get off scot free.

That's our political stance, really. It's Pro-Exercise-Your-Democratic-Rights-As-Citizen.

We will always encourage others to be wary of people with too much power.

Now coming back to why I said the memes reflect our political stance, it's because it's obvious to see why we happen to be willing to risk being a little critical of a literary text. You have to be a little transgressive, in a sense. Perfect obedience and perfect reverence stifles people from engaging with something to their full potential.

The amount of negativity derived from pure nothingness.

Nightmare has repeatedly offered Mayhem to join him, however Mayhem has refused every time. To wreak havoc on the balance, he must remain a neutral party member.

However Mayhem has visited Nightmare often since their encounter. Mayhem finds he has a fascination for Nightmare. A fascination that he hasn't felt in a long long time.

He has developed a care for Nightmare and his bunch. A feeling he thought he'd long since forgotten. He used to poke fun at Gaze for finding love in the fleeting things, yet here he was.

He finds himself cooking and baking with Horror, learning about food and sustenance.

He finds himself helping people like Killer and Dust by simply lending an ear or helping them calm down through conversation.

Hello. Random people and lil beans that make the way to this place,

At this point my account needs to be rebranded from “cod brain riot” to “the annoying artist that keeps drawing @scientificallywrongsoap s characters like a maniac” but well that’s too long and doesn’t fit the space for the change name.

But how can I resist? We have a wedding you honor! They need wedding pictures! and Glitch can’t clone himself to do fake kisses for the cámara, so, we are stuck with my art. You’re welcome or not idk.

And maybe there’s a lot of stories out there with weddings, but this my friends is the first time that I’m actually inspired by one. Like truly inspired and enjoining the process of creating “wedding pictures” . And I have 15 ideas. Clear ideas. I will post it one or two at a time.

All the ideas I have come with reasons and whys. So come with me for a ride. This is the first one and I will explain the details.

First the outfits!

Those are Glitch choose, he only give me simply instructions: traditional attires and no dresses. Swagger needs to be slimed down. And is a funny wedding.

So for Swagger I chose the traditional attire for the Polish Highlanders. It fits him. The original one has a coat and a hat. He will not use those, I also did a bit of a change in the pattern for his trousers. The original patterns are colorful embroidery over black.

The embroidery is a symbol that represents the spring and beginnings. Is a folk symbol called «parzenica» I change it to red, orange and dark green. His colors in the Glitchverse lore. And don’t hunt me is allowed. Actually in polish weddings flowers, bread and salt are important things. So you may see some of those in other illustrations.

For John, my lovely Subject 7-1. The classic kilt it was the only option. Here we (as collective cuz a bunch of lil beans popped up in my drawing live to help me with ideas) chose the red tartan pattern. Because we discover that is the one that the real MacTavish one uses for weddings. And I use for reference a recent picture of one MacTavish for this. But I also modify a bit. Also I DID THAT TARTAN PATTERN BY HAND. Like a mad man.

The bag, is inspired by the one that Glitch has, same for the coat. Is the same “large”, and it doesn’t look in this one but by the end of the weeding John outfit will resemble a bit that video of him in kilt. Cuz I can’t resist the reference.

His outfit also has his lore colors. In the brooch and other details in his coat, it will be visible in the next one you can she the mix of purples that represents him.

For the pose, it was glitch’s idea. Not directly but his words inspired the pose. The lines they said are his. And it looked cute for that.

Now the background. Did you know that the Warzone map of Vondel has a church? They will get married there. But we all know that those maps take inspiration form real sites. So I dig up a bit until I found how Oude Kerk in Amsterdam looks inside.

And in their official site… there’s this picture of the paperwall and just fall. Cuz it was perfect. The background is inspired by that. Not an exact copy cuz if you see the background has the colors of Johnny and Baby Girl in the flowers.

And plus, this is fun fact for artist… if you mix green with purple. Their green and purple. The result color will be pretty similar to the color of the background a dusty blue gray. ahh the color theory my love!

History books often talk about important events through the eyes of those with hindsight. Written in ways that make readers question how the people who actually lived through the events themselves ask how they could not have seen it coming from a mile away.

Yet for those who lived through such trying times the sequence of events were never so neat and orderly as “Point A” and “Point B”. They came on like a silent wave that could not be heard until it crashed against the foundation of society and tore everything it struck down into the dirt.

One such point of history was the day the Pentarki people experienced their first case of civil unrest.

For context in Pentarki society when a judicial ruling is handed down it could not be altered. There were no challenges, no reviews of inquiry, or appeal process to a higher form of political body for a different ruling. The end result was set in stone and there would be no argument. While strange to other space traveling societies who had several checks and balances for Pentarki it made complete sense.

To obtain a position in the judicial branches of society a Pentarki needed to be highly intelligent, well versed in social laws and history, and have some aspect of a moral code. It was through these foundation blocks that a near incorruptible governing body was created to hand out rulings for criminal cases.

The Pentarki had spent generations under this type of organization and whole heartedly believed that the process was secure; never questioning a ruling or lashing out in outrage.

That was until the day humans began migrating to their world.

Being one of the most adaptable species in the known universe, humans had a knack for setting up shop on just about any planet they came into contact with. On the Pentarki homeworld they found that despite the lethal levels of gases encircling the planet it was on average warmer than any other planet resulting in a steady stream of humans in search of said warmth.

Humans in contrast to Pentarki’s had a very different perspective of organized governing. They believed that laws and people could make mistakes and if needed, could be altered to reflect the current nature of the times. This alone was enough to ensure the Pentarki avoided dealings with humans as much as possible; at least until the “Night of ten thousand Fists.”

In a standard ruling, the governing body decided in the case of a little Pentarki child getting injured by a Pentarki enforcement officer that the officer was not at fault. Situations like this were rare but not unheard of and the enforcement officers were almost never marked for fault. While the Pentarki people had expected as much, they had not taken into account the overly passionate nature of the new human citizens who had moved to the planet.

Within hours of the ruling there were large scale protests in the streets, primarily composed of humans. They held signs and chanted dissenting slogans against the governing body that made the ruling. Enforcement officers were dispatched to try and contain the protests, but their presence only seemed to further enflamed the protestor’s anger. Pentarki enforcement officers were not trained for this type of civil disturbance as protests were all but unheard of in their culture. In an attempt to disperse the crowd the officers attempted to arrest the ringleaders who were using megaphones to rile the crowds. This backfired as the humans became further violent and began attacking the enforcers. They swarmed them from all sides and the officers were quickly consumed by a tide of human bodies.

From there things devolved rapidly as the protests turned into full blown riots. Any symbol of authority was defaced or destroyed while enforcing officers were targeted on site. Store fronts were destroyed, monuments defaced, and public destruction in general skyrocketed as several cities became consumed by anarchy. It took a full fifteen hours before order was finally restored and only then as a once in a lifetime reversal of the ruling was issued.

This action shook the Pentarki society to its core. Through open violence a ruling had been changed for the first time in their people’s history. There was open resentment towards the humans who many viewed as shoehorning their own beliefs into society, but there was also a newfound sense of disappointment of the ruling body as they were now seen as not as stalwart as they once were.

From that moment onwards many worlds were far more hesitant with allowing humans to settle on them in great numbers.
