You jump from your spot on the sofa, as if automatically, and move backwards

Your heart aches at the hurt expression on her face when you back up and away from her

Eventually, when you see the heartbroken look on her face, you ask her to have the sickle disappear again, seemingly to nowhere just as she had pulled it from nowhere

Albeit confused, she agrees, and a surprised squeak is pulled from her when you immediately move back to her and cup her warm cheeks

She hears your heartbeat quieten again, and finds herself blinking in surprise when you sit and pull her on your lap, your arms around her in a tight hug

You’re thankful, though she doesn’t quite understand what for

When you tell her of your phobia, she is understanding. She can’t relate at all, but she doesn’t need to

She accepts it without question

Bela is incredibly tidy. It’s rare for her to leave her weapons out in her room, and as such, it’s incredibly rare you see one

Her room is certainly not rid of sharp objects, but they’re all stored away neatly to ensure you don’t stumble upon one

Even when she is about to hunt, she makes sure not to summon her sickle while you’re near

She’d never want to scare you again

The first time this comes up, it’s very panic inducing

Cassandra simply has a habit of pulling her weapon out and pressing it against throats

Often, with bad intentions. Sometimes, just for fun

With you, you know she doesn’t intend to hurt you. She just wants to see what it can cause within a person

The same way she likes to pull it to her sisters’s throats for fun, just to see what reactions she can pull from people

She is incredibly surprised when she pulls hers out to press it to your throat and notices your panic

Never has she experienced anybody having such a reaction

You’re trembling and crying, your heart is beating fast as though your life was endangered

Then, she notices the cause of it is her sickle, sharp and slightly bloodied, the blade dangerously close to you, yet held tightly enough to ensure it never brushes into your skin

She pulls it from you quickly, her eyes wide with concern

Your eyes are pressed shut and you’re holding onto her tightly. Not seeing the weapon helps a little, still, you know it’s still there. She always carries multiple weapons on her person

She feels your fingers digging into her hips, but doesn’t remove them

Cassandra is incredibly confused. What?

She lets go of the weapon and, as gently as she can manage, cups your cheeks

When you open your eyes and no longer spot the weapon, you feel by far better, and both of you decide to brush it off for the moment

However, her room poses another challenge

Cassandra is a skilled huntress and fighter, and her room reflects this

Trophies of her prey are on the walls, weapons and sharp, pointy teeth are scattered around the room

Daggers, swords, sickles, arrows can be found in her room. Some put on the wall neatly, others simply laid on her desk

When she introduces you to her room, you try your best to stay calm despite the many sharp objects

She, of course, takes notice of your panicked breaths and quick heartbeat

And she doesn’t stand for it. What’s going on?

You explain your phobia, even as she has visible trouble understanding what you mean

You don’t notice her hands on you, guiding you backwards as you panic more and more the more you explain

You don’t notice, how you’re walking backwards until you stand in the hallway, rather than her room

Only when she cups your cheeks and presses a kiss to your lips, do you notice it:

There are no more sharp objects around. You’re out of her room, and even her sickle and daggers are unattached to her now

From then on, Cassandra moves you to a large room. Instead of hers, you spend your time there now

You’re very thankful for her efforts

At first, she assumes it’s her

She is a Dimitrescu. She is said to be one of the “monsters” of the castle

But surely you aren’t scared of her?

No. Your arms around her and the loving kisses pressed to her head tell her this much

So what could it be?

Perhaps the height? Her room is rather far up in the castle

Daniela makes sure the curtains hide the view from her window, hoping it will help you

It doesn’t, though, and she can’t grasp why

One day, she outright asks you. How come you’re always so tense in her room? How come you don’t relax in her room?

She wants it to feel like your room, too, in a way. She wants you to spend nights and happily share the bed with her

Upon explaining your dilemma, Daniela is completely understanding. She has phobias too, and won’t judge you for yours

She immediately works on removing the weapons and tidying her room a little

You smile a little, your heartbeat slowing down to a regular pace when she puts the sharp objects away, hidden in drawers instead

For a moment, it all seems solved

However, Daniela is; messy, at best

She often forgets to take the weapons back to their proper, hidden spots once she’s done using them

Often, they’re left out, left wherever she dropped them

She feels horrible when she hears your wildly beating heart, and after a few seconds, realizes her mistake and quickly hides away the weapons again

In time, it becomes clear that Daniela is too hectic to put her things away. Her room is a mess at nearly all times

As such, after a talk with Bela and the head maiden, she is assigned two person maids tasked with keeping it completely tidy. Daniela knows not to show any violent outbursts directed at them

And the weapons and sharp objects? You rest easier knowing they’re always put away, tidied up even when your girlfriend leaves them out

Daniela is over the moons when you begin to view her room as yours too

She makes sure she doesn’t carry sharp objects with her to ease your phobia, and is quick to hide them away from her sisters when you’re near

She tries her best, and is happy whenever it makes you feel comfortable and at ease

"Is your dad colour-blind?" You asked.

"No.”

"Is your mom colour-blind?"

"No."

"For someone trying to avoid military service, you're quite sincere," you said, examining your checklist. "You, sir, are not colour-blind."

"What? No, I am!" Wooyoung protested. "You haven't even done the tests yet,” He said

"You claim to have a red-green colour deficiency but have never undergone a proper test until now?" You, the doctor asked, suspicion evident

"I've taken tests before!" Wooyoung insisted

"Alright," You said, pulling out a set of Ishihara plates. "I'll show you these tests without revealing what’s on them. Someone with color blindness would recognize these immediately."

You handed him the Ishihara test booklet. "You don't need to know the name; just tell me what it contains."

"I guess it’s a-"

You interrupted, "Guess?"

"No, I mean—"

You shake your head "Sorry, Wooyoung. You’re not colour-blind,” You said

"I am!" Wooyoung argued desperation in his voice.

"Listen," You said firmly, "I’m an eye doctor, I’ve met many who tried to avoid military service with more convincing lies than yours, Maybe work on your story?”

"No, please! I don't want to go through military service!" Wooyoung begged.

"Military service is mandatory even if you were colour-blind, you’d just be assigned a less rigorous role. For instance, a man who had eye surgery now teaches kindergarten for military children.”

"Yes! I rather do that, please just make me colour-blind!" Wooyoung pleaded.

You scoffed “Colour deficiency is not an excuse for you, People pay to see colours while you and I see them for free," You said, frustration growing. "And I can't help you. My profession is on the line, my license could be revoked, and I could go to jail, Now leave."

“You again? I will not help you,” You said

"Dr Y/N, you’re colour-blind, aren’t you?" Wooyoung suddenly said

You avoided eye contact. "I am not."

"You are! How did you become an eye doctor if you can’t see colours properly?" Wooyoung asked, shocked

"Even if I am, it’s possible to be a doctor while colour-blind," you insisted, hoping he’d believe

"But you need to see colours to diagnose patients! How did you become an eye doctor without seeing colours correctly?" Wooyoung gasped.

You paused, “I think I’ve got something you’d want to avoid leaking," Wooyoung said, a smirk forming. "If you don’t help me get out of military service, I’ll expose your secret."

Your expression turned serious. "You wouldn’t dare."

"Try me," Wooyoung said, his tone cold. "I’m sure people would be very interested in knowing how you managed to become an eye doctor while being colour-blind."

Your eyes flickered with concern. "Fine. I’ll help you, but you need to understand the gravity of this situation. It’s not something to be taken lightly."

You sighed “I have deuteranopia, my green cones are defective, and I use contact lenses to help distinguish colours better."

Wooyoung’s eyes lit up. "Wait! I can use that!"

You gave him a puzzled look

"The lenses, not green, but grey. If I wear grey lenses, I won’t see any colours at all," Wooyoung said, snapping his fingers, convinced it was a brilliant idea.

"Then you’d better be wealthy to afford them," You said

"But you’re rich! You have those lenses and you’re a doctor," Wooyoung argued.

“It's called having a staff discount, you're the patient. You pay for it," You replied

Wooyoung’s face brightened. "So you’ll help me if I pay for the lenses?"

You considered it for a moment, then nodded reluctantly. "Fine. But remember, this is a one-time favur., don't ever come back."

"Yeah? What's up?" You asked

"The labs said you ordered grey-colored lenses?" She said

You froze for a moment. "Uh…"

"Oh, you must’ve keyed in the wrong colour. I’ll send this back to the labs—"

"No!" You interjected “I mean, no need. I kinda want to see how they look."

“But- okay,” Your assistant looked puzzled but shrugged and left

“Can't believe I'm doing this,” You said as you look at the grey lenses

My Thoughts on Viziepop and Her Shows Cuz Why Not (Warning: Minor Hazbin Hotel & Helluva Boss spoilers)

Do I think Viziepop sucks as a person? Kind of

Are her shows bad? Not necessarily

I could just sit here and say “I hate Viziepop she should d1e yadayadayada—“ but unfortunately im not that kind of guy

Im one to give credit where credit is due even when the person does stink, she was a big inspiration for me when I was younger and I think the same goes for a lot of people

I know Vizie has been in more controversies than I can count on my fingers and I think that really gets people to think of her work more negatively.

Obviously, Vizie’s shows have flaws. Mainly towards the writing. How she neglects her female characters, which I think most of you are aware of. There was a whole episode in Helluva Boss where they go to Millie’s home town and somehow it was focused more on Moxie. In “Truth Seekers” it focused way more on Blitz and Moxie than it did on Millie and Loona.

Plus theres some of the humor mainly on Helluva Boss. Ya’ll know what im talkin about. Humor is subjective but the whole cursing every two seconds and constant sex jokes get old really fast. And then theres the whole thing of Vizie saying Alastor is black even though there is no trace of melanin on that man. Thats not even everything about her controversies like Jesus Christ.

But as there is bad to everything, there are good components of Vizie’s shows the most clear one being animation. Its smooth, its well done, its competent. Hate Vizie all you want but you gotta admit its some good damn animation.

I also like what they’re doing with Angel and Husk. “Loser” is stuck in my head and I will be making an edit to it with a ship I guarantee you won’t expect.

I honestly think that Hazbin Hotel has improved a lot since the pilot. And I think a lot of the character arcs are really interesting (ex: Husk being an ex overlord, Moxie’s father being a mobster, Blitz and Fizz etc.) To me Hazbin looks promising. I like their new designs and voices (even though the goodbye song from the pilot cast made me sad).

I really hope this doesn’t just come off as me sucking Vizie off because I know she’s allegedly and actually done some fucked up shit. And if any of the allegations against her are true I obviously do not endorse her. Im just stating my opinion on the shows she makes.

So yeah, most of my opinions are nothing new but I just thought i’d share em.

9. Love’s Lightning Heart (???, ???)

Starring The Flashlight and The Flash, I think? When he called the dude “Ray” in the beginning I thought it was gonna be The Ray, you know? This only scores so low because I’m not at ALL familiar with anything Multiversity and this story especially seemed to be absolutely thick with that corner of DC lore. I get there’s a Parallax type of thing happening but... this was kind of hard to follow for a payoff that’s pretty lukewarm if you’re not well-versed in who this story’s about.

8. My Best Bet (Jon Kent/Superman, John Constantine

This is hit especially hard in my ranking because it’s the last story in the book and the only thing DC Pride about it is that it stars two Bs. They’re popular queer characters but I’m here for stories that are specifically ABOUT LGBT stuff, not about LGBT people doing stuff. There’s nothing to really talk about here.

7. Found (Xanthe Zhou, Batwoman/Kate Kane)

I’ve been meaning to read Spirit World, and since I hadn’t gotten around to it Xanthe being LGBT was a surprise to me, but not as much as Kate Kane showing up was. It feels like someone threw a dartboard at WLW women and plopped in whoever came up, cuz I guarantee if I flip the newest Batwoman issue open to a random page she’ll have a girlfriend-slash-situationship that won’t be too happy about her seeming receptive to some flirting. But hey, I like Xanthe more now so there’s give-and-take.

6. And Baby Makes Three (Xiomara Rojas/Crush, Harleen Quinzel/Harley Quinn, Pamela Isley/Poison Ivy)

I like Crush. I can’t claim to have read much of her, because for now that means enduring way too much Damian Wayne, but she seems like an incredibly interesting character. But I could not tell you why she’s here with Harley and Ivy. This, moreso than anything else, has a less than negative chance of being referenced again and it’s giving me even more of that dartboard feeling the last story did. Plus if there’s one thing Harlivy can do, it’s carry a story by themselves. I wish we’d gotten something about JUST Crush, is what I’m saying. I feel like this was a status update for Crush, like her washing ashore was meant to bridge the gap between this story and whatever she was doing the last time she showed up.

5. Teamwork Makes the Dream Work (Natasha Irons/Steel, Nubia)

Listen, I will always have space in my heart for the Irons family. I love Natasha, and I love John Henry, and when DC lets either out of the ether every other year I’m front and center. That, and the recent super-push Nubia has been enjoying made this story one I was pretty excited to read when I realized who it was about. But THIS ART. These faces are TRASH. Even without looking it up I feel like there’s a 0% chance DC would give a nonblack artist this story, so it makes it especially confusing as to why the characters look like THAT. The actual content was fun and even though Io needs to come up off our queen posthaste, I didn’t have any (other) complaints. But it’s SOOOOO UGLYYYYY.

4. The Dance ( Minhkhoa Khan/Ghost-Makes, Thomas Blake/Catman)

I knew Ghost-Maker was bi prior to reading this, somehow. I’ve been meaning to read anything about him because his design is so awesome but I was only really guessing this was Catman alongside him. I really don’t know anything about him, so this ranks so highly just because of Ghost-Maker. I don’t really have anything else to add here since this story’s ultimate purpose seems to just show off muscley dudes post-sex.

3. Anniversary (Lucas Trent/Midnighter, Andrew Pulaski/Apollo, Alan Scott/Green Lantern)

These showcases tend to have like, one story that directly addresses inequality if you’re lucky. This is that story, and it’s such a good one. Midnighter and Apollo’s fame as the canon gay Superbat sort of eclipses anything else about them, but that reputation is put to excellent effect here. Plus, Alan Scott, one of my favorite Green Lanterns, finally shows up. Revitalizing that old slogan to make it clear the LGBT isn’t going anywhere was fun, too.

2. Subspace Transmission (Jules Jourdain/Circuit Breaker, Jess Chambers/The Flash, Andy Curry/Aquawoman)

Jess was an extremely fun and memorable character from the start like, half a decade ago and that holds true here. I was super uninvested in the Circuit Breaker part of this story. I don’t know who that is, and even after reading this I genuinely don’t care. This made my heart hurt for more Teen Justice and Future State stuff in general. That Jackson Hyde cameo at the end was also perfect.

1. Hey, Stranger (Connor Hawke/Hawke, Tim Drake/Robin)

I was definitely in diapers the last time these two characters spoke to each other. When there’s been THAT big a gap in timeframe I can’t be sure how emotional a reunion can be to a modern readership. None of that matters to my enjoyment, because Connor Hawke is far and away my favorite Arrowfam member and his recent resurgence (even if too much of it is attached to Damian Wayne for my taste) has been such a blessing. DC only trots this guy out three times a year but god do we eat good each time. They just need to do a LITTLE more with him.

Ah yes, Azul and his alpha lessons 😭 Such a good vignette!! I really love how Sebek is completely immune to Silver’s attempt to assert any type of dominance. You didn’t have a winning chance here, Azul. The only thing you got is your friends laughing at you yet again…

Now, to answer your question! I think Lilia would be surprised yet amused at first because this is so unlike Silver, but then he would turn on his smug dominant face and say something like “you think you’re bold enough to defy your father? It is a challenge then and I won’t hold back”. And then he would discipline him… well, if only Silver had it in him to act that way in front of Lilia lol

And if Silver tries to be more assertive with his kohais, and Lilia happens to witness it, he would still be surprised and amused, but also kind of proud??  But also 100% sure that Silver won’t be able to keep up this act for longer than 10 minutes lol

Oooh see now you got me thinking about Baul... I've only read the parts of Ch7 that are in English, so what I know is limited. He interacts with Sebek and Lilia quite a bit, and the only bottom he's really met so far is Silver.

You know, Anon, I had a feeling that Silver wouldn’t escape a Baul ship, and that this is the scenario I would end up drawing at some point, but the more I think about it, the more likely it seems lol One day…

But in general, having any kind of intimacy or relationship (even just some moments) with Baul would probably be so weird for Silver and fun for all of us to witness, considering he really is similar to Sebek (also once again, knowing nothing about ch7).

Now, whether Malleus would want both of them is an interesting question, but I have a feeling that he would manage to tempt and torment both of them lol He might enjoy the contrast between someone so young and eager to prove himself; and someone who is older and more experienced, and yet very obedient.

You know what, Silver will get himself into a Zigvolt sandwich too. Zigvolt sandwiches for everyone!

Seen the few sneak peaks of some upcoming episodes of HB. We might meet Moxxie’s family (mainly his father). Sorry if I’m being nitpicky, but I was kinda expecting his father to be a little bit different from his son, as well as have a different voice. It’s like he’s a literal clone of Moxxie but slightly taller with a deeper and cunning tone in his voice. And from what I’ve heard, he’s supposed to be a mobster or just apart of some kind of dangerous gang (correct me if I’m wrong). So yeah, I think his appearance should be a little bit different, more tough if anything.

Blitzo stays an a**hole to his co-workers I see. Even after that DeEp and HeArTwArMiNg conversation, he had with Moxxie back in season 1 ep 6 (Which didn’t hit deep at all). You think that after he humiliated himself in episode 7, he’d dial it back with his behavior. But I guess Viv can’t have a comedy without someone unnecessarily being a jerk.

We finally get to hear Andre’s voice. He actually sounded exactly how I imagined; almost deep and haughty. I guess it’s made clear that he and Stella have a good relationship. I’ve seen some comics that show that Andre was possibly very mean to Stella during her childhood which probably would explain her behavior and why she acts so cynically. 

He and Stella are having a discussion with Stolas, and Andre brings up that Stella deserves something since Stolas cheated on her?? Which makes no sense to me?? Cuz, yes, Stolas did cheat, but why would Stella even care?!! The show already made it clear that she never even liked Stolas from the start. She didn’t even like being married to him and was only throwing fits and getting him killed simply because she was petty and liked tormenting him. What exactly does Andre and Stella hope to gain from this anyway? Neither of these two even out-rank Stolas. And what exactly has the divorce done that caused any harm to the Goetia’s. When Stella confronted Stolas, she made it seem like the divorce was gonna be a huge issue, but as far as I know... it did nothing. And they already had Octavia who’s in her late-teens, so what’s the threat here??

If they’re gonna keep bringing up the cheating, then maybe they shouldn’t have retconned Stella as a character and kept it to where she is only pissed about the affair. Maybe not have her be an evil b*tch since birth and hate Stolas for whatever reason?

We also finally get to see Barbie, Blitzo’s sister. I thought those two had a decent sibling relationship as most of us did, but it turns out... those two had a falling out as well. Barbie says, and I quote “Come on, Blitzo! Haven’t you f*cked up my life enough already??”

Jeezus!! Another one?? 

First, it was Fizz, then Verosika, and now his own sister!!? I mean, it’s expected, cuz Blitzo is an a** and he definitely deserves it, but is he seriously that much of a bad influence he screwed up his own sister’s life? Like, is she just over-exaggerating it?? What did he do that was so screwed up, she started to despise him? Hopefully, she won’t be like Verosika or even Stella; just straight-up petty and b*tchy for no reason. I know I’m wrong though.

Also, I see that she and Moxxie are fighting... wonder what that’s about. Probably something dumb.

And I also see that Blitzo and Fizz are having a talk. Not sure what it’s about. It was only a few seconds of Fizz talking. But from what I can assume, they might be discussing their relationship as friends (or ex-friends), maybe having a slight argument? Don’t know if those two are ever gonna reconcile in the end. All I know is that this kind of arc should’ve been explored way before we got into Stolas’s backstory with Blitzo (which we clearly don’t give the slightest sh*t about.) What happened with Fizz and Blitzo that caused the two to split up seems way more interesting than how Stolas and Blitzo met.

Here’s another thing that caught my eye (and y’all this one’s my favorite to laugh at). Stolas is shown being kidnapped by Striker, tied up n all, and even stabbed with a dagger!?

I’m sorry, but are we just gonna forget that Stolas is a POWERFUL FREAKIN’ DEMON??? The same guy that can do this -

The ways to show characters in love

cuz someone once asked me how is it possible to show someone is in love besides blushing

Flirting - in any way. From teasing, to an open flirt and pick up phrases, yeah, It's that easy

Trying to make the loved one laugh by making jokes and being funny

Giving gifts and trying to make something good for the one the character loves

Jealousy. Nothing to explain

Idealization. Usually people in love are tend to ignore all the flaws of their love. They see only good things, even if there is not much of them

Looks. The character will always want to see the person they love. The sign is very important

Touches. That's it. Touches is ours all

Associations. From aesthetic and smells, to basically anything. The character will just randomly recall the one they love in every possible situation (however you shouldn't use it too much, if you don't wanna show obsessesion, cuz it can make it look like the character cares only about the love interest and all their life is about them which in most of cases isn't a good thing)

Trying to interact with the love as much as possible. Won’t miss any chance to talk to them or to do something together

Showing that the character is worry about the one they love. It's pretty obviously, but still. Support os a very important part

Understanding. Mb it doesn't work in all cases, but when it does, it always makes ir better. Firstly, when characters have a deep understanding, they're most likely to like each other. Secondly, if the character loves someone, they would probably want to understand them, soo

Trying to know the loved one better. At least by asking questions, but basically in any possible way

Showing them that the character is ready to sacrafice smth for them. Basically anything, from time, to money, friends and etc

(almost) Always thinks and talks about their love

Imagines different situations of interactions with the loved one

Trying to show off. To show how cool, smart, pretty, strong and etc they are to impress the loved one. It would even be better if the character tries to use their "cool skill" to help the loved one

Being interested in the hobbies and interests of the one the character loves

Show that the character feels comfortable, safety and good around the one they love. It would even be better if you explain what exactly makes the character feels good around it

A bit of contradictory with the previous one, but you can also show that she character is nervous and anxious around the one they love. But I personally hate this thing and wouldn't recommend anyone to show a "true love" by this one. However, if the love isn't that deep, it can work, but I still hate this thing. A soft blush is much better

And yeah, sometimes blushing is also a good option. But when It's the only thing that shows love, nah. Also sometimes It's not good to use it too much bc usually It's just embarassing and looks cringe tbh. It just should be appropriate and in moderation. That's all Ig!

I actually have to agree but disagree with your Alicole comment. I do think you’re right about Alicole practically dissolving in season 2. Ryan said that the focus will be on the kids more, along with him talking about heavy themes of brotherhood and Criston on the battlefield as Aegon’s Hand is going to make Criston a bigger focus this season. A lot of attention on relationships with the males on team green and black so goodbye to alicole when he starts listening and guiding Aegon more than committing to Alicent. He will still be chummy with her brother and her sons, though.

I think Alicent and Criston will have a conflict of interest that makes Alicent reprimand him but with his new position as Hand he won’t feel obligated to her the same despite her saving his life.

It’s funny because for a lot of show flaws and execution the female writers on the show talk about how the patriarchy twisted both girls inside out and the men in their life who they relied on just to fail them all. There’s going to be a lot of men in team green who fail Alicent and the show will parallel this with Rhaenyra who will also be abandoned by all her men, especially Daemon when he chooses Nettles for, but guess which one is going to be ignored by the fandom.

The fandom will downplay Rhaenyra’s and sympathize with her saying she’s a scorned woman and hell hath no fury than that, even when she’s called Nettles every slur in the book but with Alicent? They’ll rejoice and say it was for her own good and make Get Pwned jokes on her. Lol, she can’t win.

With Larys and Alicent, I think it depends on Alicent’s personality after B&C. I feel like there’s a 50/50 chance of her growing colder in general after that. Ryan also said he wants B&C to encourage others to switch teams, and he’s foolishly optimistic for that but I hope that means in writing too. Your assessment is totally fair. I'll admit I'm being too much of a doomer with my predictions, but that's because season 1 was just so beyond disappointing, I now have zero expectations for anything better in season 2. Fool me once, you'll never fool me again cuz I don't give second chances. That's just how I am.

We haven't heard of any Alicent leaks either outside of the Jaehaerys funeral, so it's really hard to guess what the writers will do with her. Any assumption we make will just be our own fanfics, so we just gotta wait and see.

RWBY v9 e4 Thoughts and Analysis

Genuinely might be my favorite opening of the entire show. 

Also, genuinely, screw everyone who ever said Ruby didn’t have a character arc. 

RWBY is really, really good at keeping stories going in the background even as the main focus shifts around. So just...stop with that shit, okay? CRWBY are very particular with what they choose to do and when. Not everything's perfect, but if you get hung up on things you didn’t like from the past, you’ll never be able to fully appreciate what’s happening now. It’s always gonna bother you in the back of your mind. Ruby wasn’t always the most important person in the show. Let it go so you can talk about what led us here, to this exceptional story. We good? Good.

Yeah, so the Curious Cat (referred to as CC from here on out) is definitely in some position of authority in the Ever After, but they do not control it or anything like that. I suppose we shall find out their role soon enough. 

Regardless, it seems that the Tree decides when you’re ready to leave, not you. CC can bypass that it seems, but i doubt that will work for our heroes.

If the residents of the Ever After exist to facilitate a story, then the Tree will let them out when the story is done. 

Maybe the Ever After only rained when Ruby was sad (rather than, for instance, Weiss) because it’s deemed her the protagonist of the story that must reach it’s conclusion before RWBY and co are allowed to leave? Just a thought.

Also, Little does not have a history with CC like I thought they and the other mice might. However, that’s not to say CC liking to eat mice has no impact on whether the mice know what a cat is, especially since last week Little wasn’t even completely convinced they were a mouse.

It’s been said before, but CC really is a standout character. The design, the performance, the power set,  even the dialogue make literally everything about them engaging. As does, of course, the characterization, cuz this Cat is just as impossible as any cat irl. Now i actually like cats, but I’ll be the last one to say they don’t tend towards being completely absurd and impossible in their behavior

CC just takes that to the next level. Honestly though CC is basically just ADHD: the animal

Also roasting the gods is fun. Does seem like it’s clear that the Gods have nothing to do with the Ever After then, though, if CC both didn’t know and is super comfortable calling them out this way

We protect those who can’t protect themselves” Blake is really following in Ruby’s stead, this is literally the line Ruby gives her all the way back in volume 1 when they talk about their love of books. Of course, she’s doing it after going through all the healing Ruby hasn’t done yet.  It is cool to see this dichotomy of Blake stepping up and embodying what she valued in Ruby while Ruby becomes more like she was in volume 1 and 2

Also, I like that Ruby’s answer to “What does a huntress do” is “fight monsters”. it shows that she’s still thinking about things wrong

So...the Red Prince used to be the Red King? And he became the Red Prince, perhaps because he didn’t understand who he was, and thus who he wanted to be wasn’t quite right? We’ll see. But clearly there’s a much more complicated transformation process that can happen here than we expected. Perhaps a far more literal one, as well.

Before she lost her arm. It’s not about her arm though--it’s about everything. It’s about going back to what things were like before beacon fell. Going back to who she was like before beacon fell.

Yang is shocked--but she doesn't immediately reject the idea. Unlike Blake...

So it’s clear now. The reason Blake wasn’t front and center on injustice during the Atlas arc.

So for a couple volumes she just...stopped trying to be that bridge. Focused on proving to her loved ones that she had grown, and that she wouldn’t run away again. Showing them--and especially Yang--that she loved them.

God i’m so proud of these girls. This is such a beautiful scene. It’s so well directed, so well written, and there’s so much we can all learn from it, purely on an emotional growth level..

And then we come to Ruby. And unlike her friends, she doesn’t have it in her to reject the part of herself that appears here. Instead, she gets this brutal face-to-face with all of her worst insecurities, worst impulses, all her imposter syndromes and her habit of putting everything on her own shoulders. honestly this section deserves a deep dive all its own.

“You don’t even have to be Ruby Rose. So. Who are you gonna be?” 

Ruby is gonna go through a major transformation this volume. I can only hope it’s the one she needs.

I’m really curious why exactly CC was so angry about what Herb was doing. What exactly did he do wrong? Hopefully we will find out tomorrow. 

the “That’s a bit much” lien from herb intrigues me though.  Was he affected by the pain the girls--and Ruby in particular--were being forced to confront?

I got into zerobaseone and it took over all my free time, so I barely watched any shows this month.

I randomly skim-watched Addicted Heroin eps 10 - 15 on July 15 and yeah, it's deranged lol but I do kinda get why it took over people's minds, esp when there wasn't as much live-action BL. Also, foot kiss ep 13 at 14 minutes in and the guy asking "what if it hurts?" "well then I can bottom, idc" but him lying down again despite the offer anyway are uhh very good. There's a Chinese bromance remake, right? Maybe I'll watch that if it gets good reception.

July 29: Watched the My School President: Super Special Episode. It was cute, Gun and Tinn are cute as expected, even if nothing revolutionary.

July 30: Rewatched Malec scenes because I suddenly wanted to and missed them.

I didn't watch much this month, so I'll combine August with this as well.

Overall Impression: Ah, the dynamic is so delicious. Older, colder, richer, more jaded Seoul city man and younger, cheery, puppy-like new adult. Also, ummm I liked how much Yul scolded Yechan, ah + that one time Yechan apologized by kneeling. Yechan is cute, esp his antics after the sexy dream he had about Yul, but I do think he's a bit too childish sometimes, so that's meh. Overall enjoyable but I didn't super connect with the story or the characters and likely won't be thinking about them again.

Overall Impression: I wish the wrap-up/ending was done better/explained a bit more like what was that Ajin possession thing? No Ajin past? Why did we redeem mother so easily? Who was the blurry girl in ep 1 (maybe Yiwha?)? I wish the horror aspect continued on cuz I think it was strongest in the first episode but not much after that. It's had me hetshipping and lesbian shipping (Fa/Namsine were literally soooo) and that's a good mark. Good after credits scene to pique interest for a larger story, hope we get a good follow up next year.

Overall Impression:  Well, this is really as close as BL you can get without saying out loud that they are dating but there are innuendos galore and it's pretty clear (there was lube on their bed, like...). The family aspect was the best, I love that we got to see Su Yu's situation so much and his blended family and the way they were always there together. You can understand why Wu Bi prefers the warmth of their home over the coldness of his, though we got to see progress on that end too. Duoduo sooo cute, little munchkin. The ending is... an ending, that's for sure. Hope we get a season 2 next year but who knows.

Overall Impression: The pacing of this was so good, they managed to give everything needed and timed it well within 2 hours. Well written, well acted, well planned, well shot, nice. I liked and understood the main characters and even the side characters had distinct personalities despite not being fully fledged. I loved how Gi Tae and Wan were so playful with each other, whether it be with the teasing they did and playing hard to get but also the easy affection they often had whether it be kisses, pecks, tickles, hugs, hand holding, just regular romantic touching - a good balance between being strangely chaste and very raunchy. Was cute and I’m glad this is the show that I watched after not watching anything for a while but I won't think about them again, probably.

Overall Impression: It was... fine I guess, the plagiarism subplot had me invested because it was so frustrating (as it was meant to be) but I really didn’t care about the main couple. Their relationship and interactions did nothing for me. Also I’m shallow so either they needed to have more chemistry or needed to be more attractive to my tastes for me to enjoy watching it rip. I literally skimmed so much of Ep 4 - 7, especially skipped over the main couple interactions and watched to see the plagiarism issue get resolved.

I feel like a lot of this show was objectively done well like the character arcs and acting and stuff but I'm not attached to any of it. The romance didn't make me feel giddy even though I really wish it had like it's strange that I didn't care at all about all those cute moments Kawi and Pisaeng had or the established relationship montages when usually they're some of my favourite aspects of a BL. agh whatever ig at least the show didn't treat Pear terribly.

I or rather, Aoi Byakuya, plan to be chummy with him the whole time. I’ll put on a flawless performance of being “Hinata’s older brother, Byakuya”!

Not that a person like that actually exists. If that producer takes a look at me and exclaims “Who is Aoi Byakuya!?” just like you did, Shinobu-kun… He passes.

We can avoid repercussions by saying something like, “Do excuse us! It was just a little prank! That’s just how our characters are, we’re little punks who often misbehave!”

However, if the meeting ends without him sensing anything was up… If he never realizes that there’s no such person as Aoi Byakuya…

If he doesn’t even know that 2wink is “Aoi Hinata and Aoi Yuuta”, and not “Aoi Byakuya and Aoi Hinata”…

Then we’ll know that guy doesn’t actually have interest in us, and that he’s an enemy.

The producer sent us a letter this time claiming he regrets his previous request and wants to apologize.

I wanna see if it’s just lip service, or if he seriously feels bad.

Kind fed up how many 'Taylor Swift Fans' only care about talking about her exes and how engaged she is 'obviously' to her new guy she's only been dating a year. I thought we as a society stopped seeing all women as future wives and mothers. It feels reductive and regressive to fixate on how engaged she is every time she leaves the house and it sucks most fans take away from TTPD is that she wants to get married and get married today even to a guy she hardly knows and hasn't lived with long term. Hey, she may announce she is engaged tomorrow and I'll eat my words but some of my fellow fans are getting a bit too fixated on her engagement status for my liking and it's reducing her to her love life success and not her creative success which is yucky to me.

Yeahhh I feel like, at least when it comes to taylor, the whole concept of marriage is pretty loaded/complex and interesting, and esp with songs like the prophecy and loml on ttpd it’s kind of a heartbreaking narrative. Ig some swifties might be doing that as a means of rooting for taylor, in the sense that if you take away the superficial conclusion that ‘oh taylor wanted/wants to get married but couldn’t, so getting married would make her happy,’ then I can see how the speculation could be done in good conscience, but yes ofc just as you said, it doesn’t make it right. But what’s even worse are those who try to make her love life into some kind of a reality show, where there are ‘villains’ who hurt her and ‘heroes’ that sweep her off her feet like do you not realise how incredibly infantilising, insulting and demeaning that is??? I think those people forget she’s a real life person with real feelings, not smth to egg on for more shock/entertainment value.

I think she summed it up pretty well in lavender haze ‘the only kind of girl they see is a one night or a wife.’ The way I interpret this (in the context of ttpd) is exactly this, that she doesn’t want the conversation surrounding her to be reduced to her love life (at least at the time - her persona has changed so much recently idk). But at the same time, the idea of marriage seems to appeal to her, maybe as a symbol of even more commitment, and it hurts to not have your partner feel the same way. Her desire to get married or lack thereof has nothing to do with what’s appropriate for people to discuss abt her. It’s just another facet to her personality but apparently this is the 1950s cuz god forbid a woman be more that her romantic interests

And yea you’re right, maybe they will be getting engaged soon or maybe they won’t, but whatever the case is I don’t this I (or you!) shld be eating my words. At least imo, it’s about the principle of it. For arguments sake, let’s say they do get engaged tmwr. That still doesn’t make all the engagement speculation right/moral! Because then it’ll be speculation about their wedding, any kids they might have (tho ppl have alr started on that now 🤢🤢) and so on. My point is, it’s never ending, because it’s not about whether or not/when they’ll be getting engaged, it’s about that underlying problem of misogyny and reducing women to figurines to impose outdated, regressive narratives on.
