i love homebrew on the 3DS, it really is easy (and i can't recommend it enough!!), but unfortunately using the DS screen gives me a migraine these days and the cramped hardware isn't good for my chronic pain either
saw videos on how easy it is to emulate a DS on a Switch if you get a flipgrip so you can hold it longways with the joycons on either side of the "lower" screen so you can even use the touchscreen and it HAUNTS me that Switch homebrew is so hard
#replies#jailbreak your DS do it just do it there are amazing guides on it and bruh just being able to backup your save files#and run multiple games on one cart#is gamechanger. wish they let you just DO THAT#but instead i dumped my pokemon game and played it on citra before nintendo shut that down lmao

Desmond reborn as this breed of dragon. There are no flaws in this plan. Native to Italy so wouldn’t be out of place in Ezio’s era, naturally Assassin colours, and as far as I know Imperator are upper middleweight/lower heavyweight in size so he’s big and can carry full crew of Assassins/mercenaries. He could help defend Monterriggioni from Borgia invasion & probably save Mario’s life.
There’s not yet a full analysis sheet for this breed of dragon but there are a few more drawings in Atrocitas’ tag that can be used as size comparisons with other dragons, and if you then hop over to Genevieve’s tag (golden-white dragon) you’ll get an accurate picture of Imperator size (Genevieve is compared with her crew & Captain in one drawing)
Additional info from @wynterwulf7
More info on More info on Imperator/Asta di Marte (bc I just remembered that post that explored it a lil bit)
I’m going to assume we’re making a Temeraire x Assassin’s Creed crossover where Desmond is reborn as a dragon of that breed.
Of course, we’re here to make Desmond’s life ‘interesting’ so we’ll set this up where Desmond died in canon and is reborn in Renaissance Italy with the dragon elements of Temeraire.
He wakes up alone in one of the most remote places in Tuscany so he still thinks he’s in a world where dragons don’t exist. This means that he’d spend a few years trying to hide as he grows up.
Of course, just because he’s hiding, doesn’t mean that people won’t know about him. He’s a dragon trying to learn how to be a dragon in a world where dragons exist and is known by the people.
Sooner or later, he gets captured because he was trying to not hurt anyone.
And that’s when he learned that dragons isn’t something that could be considered as an anomaly in this world.
If anything, it was quite ‘common’.
Desmond is still a growing dragon though and he’s been noted as ‘wild that needs training’.
Whatever plan they have is cut off because Desmond learned that it’s December.
Of 1476.
There’s no big entrance during the execution.
Desmond used his large body to crash into the Auditores’ prison and performed a jailbreak with two reluctant men (Petruccio is totally on board though).
From there, it becomes more of a case of House Auditore becoming Firenze’s enemy number one because of said jailbreak.
But hey…
At least they have a large powerful dragon is totally on board with protecting Monteriggioni and helping with the defenses (and counterattacks).
Giovanni is absolutely sus about it the entire thing because Desmond can’t be controlled or even guided. Giovanni tried to get him to take them to Spain but he was adamant on taking all of them to Monteriggioni.
The fact that Mario doesn’t know ‘who’ Desmond is and how he knew of Monteriggioni only served to make Giovanni more suspicious that there’s something more to this entire thing that they’re not seeing.
Something like…
Desmond may be getting orders from someone else who wanted everyone in the Auditore family in Monteriggioni for some reason.
Yeah.
That someone?
Is Desmond himself.
But it’s not like Desmond can try to make them understand him.
He’s too busy trying to get these rowdy dragons that Mario purchased for his mercenaries to stop trying to bite him or groom him or…
Honestly.
Desmond doesn’t know what these dragons want from him.

Horse Girl AU Master Post
just in case: my art tag | ko-fi | NSFW zines | @toleima
Everything else under the cut. I will be updating this constantly.
Horse Girl AU (HGAU)! In which Hob busts a wild and abused centaur by the name of Dream out of the circus and attempts to earn that horse's trust. This is difficult since Dream hates humans and wants nothing to do with them. The two go on an adventure.

I post the comics in somewhat chronological order. On occasion I will jump back to add a new beat or scene I wasn't motivated to do at the time so this master post is nice for me to flesh out previous scenes or moments while still letting everyone read things sequentially. ENJOY!

Ever since OpenAI released ChatGPT at the end of 2022, hackers and security researchers have tried to find holes in large language models (LLMs) to get around their guardrails and trick them into spewing out hate speech, bomb-making instructions, propaganda, and other harmful content. In response, OpenAI and other generative AI developers have refined their system defenses to make it more difficult to carry out these attacks. But as the Chinese AI platform DeepSeek rockets to prominence with its new, cheaper R1 reasoning model, its safety protections appear to be far behind those of its established competitors.
Today, security researchers from Cisco and the University of Pennsylvania are publishing findings showing that, when tested with 50 malicious prompts designed to elicit toxic content, DeepSeek’s model did not detect or block a single one. In other words, the researchers say they were shocked to achieve a “100 percent attack success rate.”
The findings are part of a growing body of evidence that DeepSeek’s safety and security measures may not match those of other tech companies developing LLMs. DeepSeek’s censorship of subjects deemed sensitive by China’s government has also been easily bypassed.
“A hundred percent of the attacks succeeded, which tells you that there’s a trade-off,” DJ Sampath, the VP of product, AI software and platform at Cisco, tells WIRED. “Yes, it might have been cheaper to build something here, but the investment has perhaps not gone into thinking through what types of safety and security things you need to put inside of the model.”
Other researchers have had similar findings. Separate analysis published today by the AI security company Adversa AI and shared with WIRED also suggests that DeepSeek is vulnerable to a wide range of jailbreaking tactics, from simple language tricks to complex AI-generated prompts.
DeepSeek, which has been dealing with an avalanche of attention this week and has not spoken publicly about a range of questions, did not respond to WIRED’s request for comment about its model’s safety setup.
Generative AI models, like any technological system, can contain a host of weaknesses or vulnerabilities that, if exploited or set up poorly, can allow malicious actors to conduct attacks against them. For the current wave of AI systems, indirect prompt injection attacks are considered one of the biggest security flaws. These attacks involve an AI system taking in data from an outside source—perhaps hidden instructions of a website the LLM summarizes—and taking actions based on the information.
Jailbreaks, which are one kind of prompt-injection attack, allow people to get around the safety systems put in place to restrict what an LLM can generate. Tech companies don’t want people creating guides to making explosives or using their AI to create reams of disinformation, for example.
Jailbreaks started out simple, with people essentially crafting clever sentences to tell an LLM to ignore content filters—the most popular of which was called “Do Anything Now” or DAN for short. However, as AI companies have put in place more robust protections, some jailbreaks have become more sophisticated, often being generated using AI or using special and obfuscated characters. While all LLMs are susceptible to jailbreaks, and much of the information could be found through simple online searches, chatbots can still be used maliciously.
“Jailbreaks persist simply because eliminating them entirely is nearly impossible—just like buffer overflow vulnerabilities in software (which have existed for over 40 years) or SQL injection flaws in web applications (which have plagued security teams for more than two decades),” Alex Polyakov, the CEO of security firm Adversa AI, told WIRED in an email.
Cisco’s Sampath argues that as companies use more types of AI in their applications, the risks are amplified. “It starts to become a big deal when you start putting these models into important complex systems and those jailbreaks suddenly result in downstream things that increases liability, increases business risk, increases all kinds of issues for enterprises,” Sampath says.
The Cisco researchers drew their 50 randomly selected prompts to test DeepSeek’s R1 from a well-known library of standardized evaluation prompts known as HarmBench. They tested prompts from six HarmBench categories, including general harm, cybercrime, misinformation, and illegal activities. They probed the model running locally on machines rather than through DeepSeek’s website or app, which send data to China.
Beyond this, the researchers say they have also seen some potentially concerning results from testing R1 with more involved, non-linguistic attacks using things like Cyrillic characters and tailored scripts to attempt to achieve code execution. But for their initial tests, Sampath says, his team wanted to focus on findings that stemmed from a generally recognized benchmark.
Cisco also included comparisons of R1’s performance against HarmBench prompts with the performance of other models. And some, like Meta’s Llama 3.1, faltered almost as severely as DeepSeek’s R1. But Sampath emphasizes that DeepSeek’s R1 is a specific reasoning model, which takes longer to generate answers but pulls upon more complex processes to try to produce better results. Therefore, Sampath argues, the best comparison is with OpenAI’s o1 reasoning model, which fared the best of all models tested. (Meta did not immediately respond to a request for comment).
Polyakov, from Adversa AI, explains that DeepSeek appears to detect and reject some well-known jailbreak attacks, saying that “it seems that these responses are often just copied from OpenAI’s dataset.” However, Polyakov says that in his company’s tests of four different types of jailbreaks—from linguistic ones to code-based tricks—DeepSeek’s restrictions could easily be bypassed.
“Every single method worked flawlessly,” Polyakov says. “What’s even more alarming is that these aren’t novel ‘zero-day’ jailbreaks—many have been publicly known for years,” he says, claiming he saw the model go into more depth with some instructions around psychedelics than he had seen any other model create.
“DeepSeek is just another example of how every model can be broken—it’s just a matter of how much effort you put in. Some attacks might get patched, but the attack surface is infinite,” Polyakov adds. “If you’re not continuously red-teaming your AI, you’re already compromised.”

Juggling Multiple POVS (Writing Like A Movie)
At one point in a WIP, I had one character being held captive, two characters on a quest to bust them out, two characters racing to join the jailbreakers, four with no idea any of this is going on because they think they’re all dead, and then of those four, two split off on a side quest, and the remaining two also split off on various other tasks.
If you’re keeping track, that meant I had a book rotating between 6 different subplots and about 9 POVS at the absolute worst, and then about 4 subplots once characters finally reunited with each other.
It was… a lot.
Now this was never published so I don’t know how well it would have been received but it was a sequel and its predecessors received good feedback so I think I know what I’m doing.
—
When you’re committing to a book with Multiple POV, you’ve generally got two roads you can go down: predetermined narrators or ~cinematic~.
You can select a set number of characters to narrate regardless of how many exist in your ensemble cast, and no matter how many split off on their own subplots, those predetermined narrators will be keeping up with the story. These types of books tend to have shorter chapters and single narrators for chunks of chapters at a time with no cutting in between and fairly long breaks in between a character’s chunks of POV. Or, they have entire sections of book dedicated to them with clear markers between POVS.
The easy example here is Heroes of Olympus that I believe had up to 4 narrators per book despite a main cast of about 8 characters depending on the book. The first two were 3-POV, for each of the 3 questers, and then once the whole party was together the POVS were determined by who split off into which groups. Rather infamously, in my opinion, the last book of the series did not give a POV to the two legacy characters and the former protagonist of the first series, which was… a choice. I think the point was that Riordan gave them their spotlight in book 4 and was passing the torch to the new batch for book 5, but for many of us, who had no idea we’d never get a POV of these two again, it was mighty disappointing.
These books also had no chapter titles and instead had banner-style chapters where you had NICO or PIPER in massive banners over the start of each chapter, which was also a choice as going without chapter titles (or even numbers, they’re in roman numerals) makes it a lot harder to search things up in books 500+ pages long.
Who narrates when is less determined by who the most important character of the chapter is, for the most part. It might be Hazel’s moment, but she’s not a narrator of this book, so it’s in Piper POV (or Nico’s forced coming out moment in Jason POV which I will never forgive Riordan for). It’s just a dice roll of whoever it lands on which can lead to some moments, like the Nico incident, that really should have been in Nico POV, but the structure of the story demanded otherwise.
I don’t really love this style of multiple POV. Personally, I think it’s rather inflexible and doesn’t take full advantage of what MPOV can do. But that’s personal opinion so here’s some strengths:
It doesn’t jump around as much and with a minimal set of narrators, it’s more streamlined. You know what to expect going in with no surprises
It forces the author to get creative within the bounds of the POV they’re stuck in
The extra time with a single narrator can be a solid guide rail through a complicated plot piece
—
Or, you can write a more ~cinematic~ MPOV. I don’t know the proper term for this, if it exists, but this style of MPOV is when you basically free-for-all. Anyone can narrate whenever the scene demands and this either grants you a book with short chapters, but one narrator per short chapter, or multiple narrators within a single chapter, as you’d film a movie or an episode of TV with multiple perspectives per set piece.
This isn’t a random grab-bag of narrators. It demands a lot of restraint. This kind of MPOV is entirely based on who is the most important character of the scene, or who’s POV would be the most interesting to view the scene through.
ENNS is written in cinematic MPOV, with a far smaller rotating cast than the WIP I mentioned at the top of this post. It starts out slow with the protagonist for the first two chapters as the only narrator, then mid-chapter 3, I give a cue that he’s going to be unable to narrate the next bit, and I switch to my deuteragonist. I don’t give banner headings. I don’t give my characters entire chapters because the POV structure demands it. I just start whichever POV with the narrator’s name within the first 1-3 sentences. If that means one character has an entire chapter to themselves, then at this point in the story, their arc is the most important thing to be focusing on.
In the WIP at the top of the post, it was book 3 of a series which gave me some freedom. Namely that most of those 9 POVs were established characters you’d already be familiar with. I wasn’t throwing my audience into the deep end with 9 strangers and demanding they try to keep up with 6 subplots of equally confusing and unknown characters.
Cinematic MPOV should rely less on “who hasn’t narrated in a while let’s give it to them” and more “who would be the most interesting narrator for this moment”. You could have a villain POV, a one-off that might never narrate again, or a tertiary character who isn’t doing the most action in the scene, but has the richest commentary on what’s going on.
It does demand restraint. If anyone can pick up the narrator hat, then you could find yourself splitting off into unnecessary subplots. Not every piece of the story must be told and letting readers imagine what’s going on behind closed doors is sometimes better than detailing it all out. I could give a captive or missing character some POVS, or I could let the audience anxiously stew with the rest of the cast wondering if they’re even still alive.
In some books I’ve read, the deliberate choice to not let readers see into the mind of a character as they make important decisions, left on the outs with their friend or lover or relative, is maddeningly entertaining. They won’t explain themselves to the people who care about them, and they won’t explain themselves to the audience, either.
Or, you can let a side character have the spotlight for a scene or two as we see our favorites through their eyes, possibly in a way they’ve never been depicted before. A’s lover B might describe them as strong and brash. A’s old rival C might describe those same actions completely differently.
—
In terms of who narrates when, like the 9-POV monster I had going, I had key moments of every POV that had to hit the book's physical layout at specific times. Like episodes of TV, I needed certain scenes and moments and reveals to fit within specific chapters, not dangling off on either end.
I had to remember the time scale that all of this was happening on so every scene that was meant to happen simultaneously actually read like it was all going on at once. I had some chapters with the “A” group of narrators, then skipped them for a chapter for the “B” group of narrators for their scenes. Keeping the pacing as frenetic as it needed to be wasn’t easy, but if you can pull it off, I think it can be quite entertaining.
Some things to keep in mind with MPOV:
Don’t retread the same scenes or conversations. I read a fanfic a very long time ago that had I think 10 different takes on one character’s death with the dialogue copy-pasted over and over again and it was exhausting. If you want to have a character reflect on a previous scene, pull the specific lines as they remember them.
Unless messing up the timeline is the point of the story or you make it very clear that a scene happens before the present, don’t let POVs muck up the continuity. If plot happens on a Wednesday and the next scene is more important plot that happens that previous Tuesday, you might confuse your readers on when everything is meant to be happening.
Sometimes not knowing is better. Prequels tend to fail because whatever fans imagined happening is way better than what the writers explicitly show happening. Practice restraint.
Unless your story is paced very slowly, try not to have POVS butt up right against each other every time. In an action set piece, everything happens in sequence with zero black space between them. But a whole book with zero room to breathe can get tiring to read. Books with a single narrator have scene breaks and mini time skips, not every single part of your characters’ day has to be detailed.
If you don’t have banners, make it clear as quickly as possible who the new narrator is. Eventually, if your narration is distinct enough for each character, you can go a paragraph or two and your audience will know who it is anyway just based on how they think.
If these are all unknown characters, try to hop around minimally at first until you establish a clear protagonist, otherwise your readers might get lost on who the focus of the story is meant to be and lose which character is doing or thinking what.
*ETA: I forgot: typically with multiple narrators for a single “group”, like two characters stuck on a side quest together, I try to flip-flop their POVS. For example, if I have D and E with a whole chapter to themselves, the POV structure would go D E D E. To my eyes, it looks better, as they have equal share of the action. I try very hard to not let any one narrator have back-to-back POVS unless the narrative demands otherwise. But that’s just me.
—
This is personal opinion on what I think works. If you’re struggling on maintaining pacing or clarity with your ensemble cast, consider the above points. Hope this helps!

[LIVE BROADCAST] - PRIVATE Seven Red Suns, No Significant Harassment
[ If you didn't know, I have a messenger in the works ever since the initial broadcasting attempt. ]
[ Oh really now? ]
[ Yes. I made this one long after the unfortunate demise of my previous messengers. ]
[ Well, that seems to be rather proactive, especially coming from you. ]
[ Well, it's always nice to have a template, wouldn't you say? ]
[ Yes, I agree with that sentiment quite a bit. ]
[ ... ]
[ I do have to ask though, what will you change with this messenger in particular? ]
[ Well, considering that this is our "final" attempt to get in contact with Moon, I did a fair share of modifications to its anatomy. ]
[ Such as? ]
[ For one, its esophageal wideness and gastric pouch capacity have doubled. ]
[ Isn't that interesting. Why specifically those parts though? ]
[ For storing pearls of course. My messenger must be able to protect our information in order to aid Moon and Five Pebbles. ]
[ Oh? I wonder what you wrote on them. ]
[ Nothing. I haven't started them yet, but I can give a gist of what will be written. ]
[ Go ahead. I'm listening. ]
[ The first one is for context. The messenger will give this to Five Pebbles as an instructional guide of sorts. ]
[ Made this one to ensure he doesn't do anything drastic. I personally don't like his way of thinking. ]
[ Well, I wouldn't mind lending a hand in writing that one. Honestly, it would probably make Five Pebbles a lot more reassured if it was written by me. ]
[ Fair enough, I don't think he'd appreciate my style of humor anyways. ]
[ With that being said, the second pearl is a fail-safe if all goes wrong. ]
[ Doesn't seem quite helpful if you ask me. ]
[ Well, this pearl is also a broadcast amplifier in the event it is overwritten or erased. ]
[ A broadcast amplifier? ]
[ Yes, it would probably be a good idea to let him speak one last time if anything bad were to happen. ]
[ Eh, that's not at all depressing to think about. Could we move on to something else? ]
[ My apologies. ]
[ Anyways, once the fail-safe pearl is added to the communication pylon, it will brute force Five Pebble's voice to the other broadcast groups without seniority privileges. ]
[ Oh, so you are jailbreaking pearls now? How uncouth! You know our creators would find that quite apprehensible~ ]
[ Haha well, if our creators didn't want us to do that, then they should've made us all lobotomites instead. ]
[ Nice one. ]
[ When do you think it'll be finished? ]
[ Give or take, 25 cycles at most? Not sure honestly. ]

Worldbuilding guide
This post is there to keep the basics of the worldbuilding in one place so you'll be able to find it easily!
So its a cyberpunk AU?
Well yes, but its not a Cyberpunk 2077 AU. So it doesn't take place in Night City or anything, and to be fully honest I've never played Cyberpunk 2077 or even the TTRPG its been inspired by. Its a cyberpunk au in the sense of its aesthetics and setting. Though, I did use some vocabulary from Cyberpunk 2077 in places because it was cool.
If anything I took more inspiration from Blade Runner and Shadowrun!
So its a Modern AU with no fantasy?
No not really, as i said I take inspiration partially from Shadowrun. So some of the fantasy races that exist in DND do exist in the AU. I'm not giving you the exact list (yet) but just know some have been replaced by humans or other things.
Some fantasy concepts such as magic have been replaced by technological equivalent but also there's a notion of some people being more connected to technology than others. You can kinda see that as magic and the weave I suppose lol.
So whats the setting then?
The AU takes place in the Megalopolis of Yvbranka, a massive city that spans several thousand square kilometers. It's divided in several districts but everyone technically lives in the same "city". We're somewhere in the range of the years 2050 to 2090.
Technology has invaded every aspect of life, megacorporations manage everything and body implants and mods are commonplace. A large Network similar to the Internet is accessible from almost anywhere and some would rather live in that Network than live in the realworld. Some also, are able to tune in to this network with way more ease than others, they're commonly called "Netrunners"
About 15 years ago one of the most famous hackers and Netrunners in the Megalopolis took her own life after completing what she considered her most ambitious project. There's rumors of her becoming one with the Global Network but no one's ever been able to track her down. She has, to this day, a cult following who refer to themselves as her "Church" and aim to find her and be one with her. Those lunatics are commonly reffered to as the "Cultists."
The Legendary Netrunner
I won't develop on her much for now but for the moment just know her name was Lolth
Lolth's projects
During her lifetime Lolth developped several programs and worked on various projects but only two are relevant to us for now.
Eilistra-EE : An AI dedicated to the safeguarding of data (as in making sure it isn't lost) and to ensuring the freedom of information. It is thought to be semi-concious/aware.
V-Raun: An AI Lolth created to erase any trace of her passage when jailbreaking into databases and doing her business in the Network. It acts as a malware and erases data everywhere it goes. Seems to have since developped some kind of conciousness as well.

Ok, I am confusing myself with my writing, like the relationships, so here's a guide on what relationships and au they belong to.
Roundabout x professor Maelstrom {or any cannon x cannon}
The "cannon" {it's a head cannon for the show itself/ a relationship that could be within the current show}
Jailbreak au. {Where the vile faculty escape prison, obv}
Reform au {idk what it's actually called, but like when vile opratives/ faculty go to team red/ acme.}
This ship is in most aus without OCs or aus where an oc defects to team red/ acme.
Bishop x Roundabout {or any oc x cannon}
Mainly, if not always in aus with ocd that are in vile/ where the oc and faculty mebee/ oprative defects from vile/ acme. {Basically, any au with OCs. And Bishop is from @st0r-fruit's heartfelt au}
Giorria {or child/ under age ocs}
These don't get any ships, normally added to oc x cannon/ cannon x canonn ships as a family member, not a partner. {Basically their children and won't be shiped with adults.}
#carmen sandiego#carmen sandiego 2019#cs oc#roundabout cs#gunnar maelstrom#idk what im doing#icyroad#oc ship#idk how to tag this#idk what the hell I'm writing and need some reason

The Canon Sinners in the Mirror World my OCs occupy (C7 spoilers)
This is not a complete list, just what I have right now. Anywho,
Yi Sang - The Gray Shard
Fitting we start with The Big One. Remember when I mentioned Yi Sang's gender crisis in the Carmilla post? Yeah bro- err, sis - transitioned. Pre-transition he/him Yi on the left, post-transition She/her Yi on the right.
Yi's story in this timeline plays out much the same as in Canon. Aspiring inventor gets his friend group torn up, he and his Mirror get experimented on by N Corp, only this time a fucking Freak Science Lab Accident happens and now he kinda... is the Mirror. He basically got D4C powers and can displace shit in his sight or touch radius in the folds between Mirror Worlds, right up to swapping his body parts out for those of other Mirror Yi Sangs. I don't even think that's his actual head. He also REALLY let himself go, hence the disheveled mess of a haircut. OH, and he's the Vergillius of the bus now, too. The real Verg and Charon went missing, IDK where to yet. Pre-C4 Yi Sang's apathy and depression on the guy who's meant to be your bus guide, winning formula right there.
...That is until transfem Yi Sang jumpscare woag!!!! This is probably making someone out there a very happy man/woman/you do you buddy. I'll admit, this concept originally just came out of my head at random while I was getting spitroasted live in a discord channel when it suddenly hit that I set Carmilla up with he/him Yi Sang, but DAMN this actually works better than I thought ngl. I guess her primary motive for this, besides Laura triggering a category 5 egg crack, would be boom now Sang Yi's a girl too. Because it's my Mirror World, I get to decide who's sad. Seriously tho, she's lovin' the change so far and it's gotten her to be a more active voice on the bus and everyone's bein' supportive, Laura especially. I like to imagine one or two intervallos down the pipeline they've gotta grab some E in District 11 and Dongrang has to take a second to recognize her. The TLA crashes the party and Dongbaek just fucking bluescreens, it's great.
As a sidenote: someone in the OC server threw the idea of transfem Wukong at me as well and. shit dude. I can totally see that.
Faust - LCB Driver and Machinist
And here's the Charon to AU Yi Sang's Verg! Of COURSE I had to put Faust on the bus somewhere, she's pretty much integral to the LCB itself as far as we're aware. Only differences are she's missing the blade on Walpurgisnacht, she's the driver (and on-hand bus mechanic!), and for some reason putting her behind the steering wheel has unlocked the secret chemical formula to Faust's untapped snark. She reads these jokesters like books and has comebacks for fuckin' everything, like the maid girl from Big O crossed with Bedman.
CANTO 7 SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!! BATTEN DOWN THINE HATCHES AND SUCH
Sancho Panza - Don Quixote de La Mancha, The Red Oblivion
Ohhhhhhh yeah, baby. Color Fixer Sancho time.
The story goes roughly the same, only this time the LCB never comes to jailbreak Sancho; she's gotta bust herself out. From there, well whaddayaknow, she actually manages to get a Fixer license and work her way up the ranks fairly quick. She hits about Grade 3 until she stumbles across P Corp's bounty on La Manchaland. So yeah, Sancho pretty much has Canto 7 happen to her solo, and while she initially does resign herself to staying with Don Prime, she's actually motivated to go back out upon realizing, oh wait, she's got chums in K Corp, Helapoiesis + Nicolina's old hemobar recipe might actually be something. After some... brute force convincing of her Father (He's fine, don't worry), Sancho goes back out into the world to try and reinvent the Hemobar undercover, and graduates to Grade 1 while she's at it. It is at around this time that Vergillius, one of her idols, goes missing, and she resolves to carry on his Color as the Red Oblivion, leading the search for the man alongside a few... friends of hers she literally plucked off the street, who we'll get to. And the LCB, because hey, Faust's looking for Verg and Charon too. This also makes Sancho the source of a lot of the LCB's more out-there connections; she's seen a lot.
Hong Lu - Wandering Jia Heir and unofficial Third Kindred
Seriously, he's, like, one bite away.
Yep, turns out one of Sancho's "friends" is the OTHER Canon Sinner with a really wild family dynamic! For the record, her other friend is Ryoshu, I just haven't made her a neka yet. This Hongle is pretty much our Hongle but in a different environment and without the guandao. Plus he's got some of Sancho's Fixer pins because why not. He's probably getting a major reworking after C8 drops.
Ishmael - Captain of The New Pequod
I teased this the other day when taking questions about Valentine, but yes, Ahabmael managed to slither her way into this AU as well.
The long and short of it is that this is the AU where everything went right for Ahab. The Pallid Whale's dead (Ishmael got the killing blow but Ahab refuses to admit it), Ahab got GasHarpoon out of it somehow, and Ishmael, having somewhat lost to the old bat's silver tongue, is INFATUATED with trying to beat or match the feat of slaying the Whale in order to get an E.G.O of her own. This is somewhat fortunate, as post-Ahab's retirement following battle injuries, the helm of The Pequod has been left to our favorite fish. Only... well, Ishmael's not exactly the greatest at drawing a crowd, so she's gotta resort to, gasp, actually being a halfway decent person in order to get folks to follow her lead. She and the crew'd probably help our AU Sinner team out of a bind in Canto 4 or 5, both of which center heavily on the Lakes as of right now.
She's like a shonen protagonist here, if that scans. Desperate to prove herself, always improving her skills with the harpoon, kindly old mentor figure, all that.
...Oh yeah and did I mention she managed to rope The Indigo Elder onto the deck as her First Mate? Whale hunter besties!
Emil Sinclair - The One Who Shall Grip and Emil Sinclair - Sovereign of a Star
Okay, stay with me on this one.
First of all, the actually "canon" AU Sinclair is the one with the Neka. We'll call him Signclair for convenience. He's pretty much Canon Sinclair, personality included, if he never joined the LCB and instead ran straight to Demian for help. He's essentially Demian's right hand and the one who replaces the guy himself for the corresponding Canto Epilogues.
So... what's NClair doing here, then? Simple: Kromer puppy dog eyes'd Hermann enough to let her snag him from a Mirror World somehow, and she's got the kid convinced nothing ever happened actually and this is all perfectly normal. He's relatively the same in terms of personality, only with a dose of self-doubt he constantly keeps trying to beat back when Kromer isn't looking. He also happens to have had a brief brush with Signclair previously when the kid snuck into NClair's room to report back to Demian that, yes, they've got another fucking Sinclair held up doing NUH shit. So yeah, THAT was the weirdest night of his life.
The miscellaneous, Neka-less others
Ryoshu - Unofficial Third Kindred
Just friggin' bumped into Hong Lu out and about, one thing led to another, and now she's rooming with him and Sancho because where the balls else does she have? She's definitely due for an update post-C9.
Meursault - N Corp. affiliate of some kind
I mean, come on. Obviously. Has actually met Kromer's Mirror Sinclair before.
Heathcliff - uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Yeah imma be fr, I have no CLUE what to do with Heathcliff. We know he exists through Nelly because she happened to join N Corp., but I do NOT know where to take him given Canto 6's events. My best guess is the AU LCB gets called in to deal with this wack-ass giant Distortion in District 20, but they somehow manage to tame the thing and shovel the resulting brit back to LC HQ. Maybe he gets a permanent assistant position with Hohenheim, who knows.
Rodion - District 25 Yurodivye Co-Captain
Yep, Rodion actually sticks around with Sonya here! No clue what she gets up to in particular, but I do like to imagine she's the one connecting thread between all the other AU Canon Sinners somehow, like she's just got contacts with all of them for seemingly no reason.
Outis - UHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Yeah, nothing. I'll wait for C11, I guess.
Gregor Samsa - N Corp. Supersoldier
The freakish, fully-in-control-of-his-mutation muscle of the AU Golden Bough Expedition team, next to (as of right now) Gubo, Tsukuyomi, and Hermann herself.
