Frankenstein
my opinion on the creature
In one of my classes we are currently reading Frankenstein and everyone in my class hates creature, so I’m here to play the devils, pun intended, advocate for him. The creature is quite literally just misunderstood. I don’t agree with the murders he’s committed because yea, but at the end of the day he’s just a victim of his situation. Victor is so self abosrved with himself that he believes the creature to be “evil” because he is not capable of holding himself accountable, and mind you he doesn’t get no where near as much hate as creature when it could be argued Victor is at fault for all of it.
He was the one who made creature and maybe if Victor had some human decency at took responsibility for essentially the child he made, creature wouldn’t have gone onto murder William. All creature wanted was a friend after his father abandoned him but no, because humanity shunned him and thus made him foster a resentment for humanity. All of his actions stem from a result of Victor creating and promptly abandoning him. So maybe what he did isn’t right but it sure as hell is justified. He didn’t even mean to kill William, sure kidnapping a kid isn’t much better, but that only reason he did that was so he would have a friend who would shun him for being ugly because he raised him.
My last point is just proving how creature isn’t that bad when you compare him to Victor. I could make a whole list with the crimes Victor has committed: grave robbing, child neglect, improper disposal into a body of water, and that list probably goes on. But no one talks about this because it doesn’t compare to murder, and while Victor hasn’t murdered anyone, it does not make him a saint by far. He neglected his child and only when he was going to make a second one realized “yea maybe this isn’t a good idea”. He generalized the creatures species because he was to self absorbed to take creatures account into matter, which he heard mind you, and say that he must be evil even though he heard both sides of the stories because he is incapable of admitting his fault.
So yea creature is not evil and arguably in my opinion Victor is worse than creature will ever be.
ps. pardon all grammar mistakes i wrote this in like 10 mins after my class

About
I feel as though the inked pages and the written word and the worlds that exist in between them, have always been my solace. I remember, as a preschooler, crawling into my mother’s lap with my storybook in hand, begging her to read to me. I remember starting my first novel at the age of seven and never looking back. Books became my religion, flipping through their delicate pages, my sacrament.
It is almost impossible to be spared from the compulsion of penning down your own words when you make the written word your holy communion. And so I, too, succumbed to the inevitability of becoming a wordsmith. Perhaps not one with indomitable skill but definitely possessing a beguiling passion for her craft.
Spilling Inkwells is my personal sanctuary where I create a landscape of my musings, experiences and love for the written word.

Shades of Man
Exhibit 1: The Burgundy Hour
Welcome to the Burgundy Hour
The time and space where love and desire blurs
When shame and guilt come in second
Where passion and broken hearts are currency
Flesh burns with hunger
Heaven is just a downtown drive
Velvet shirts clings to skin like sin
Peppered with tiny holes
Like bullet wounds to the heart
Night smells like old perfume spilled
Lungs filled with cigarette smoke
And blinding scarlet mist
Intoxicating rum, cedar and regret
In alleyways, backdoor restrooms
Inside fleshy mounds of skin and heat
Strangers feels like lovers
Bruises hidden in sad neon lights
Cheap wines and expensive hobbies
In the burgundy hour,
Broken hearts, longing and grief - comes in excess
Beware of the Burgundy Hour - it consumes and consumes

Sobre mi!
Hola todo mundo! Soy Ari, una chica de 25 años que todavĂa estĂĄ intentando entender la vida a travĂ©s de la escritura, la mĂșsica y la lectura. International Read to Me Day
With International Read to Me Day coming up on March 19th, I’m reminded of a goal that I had in mind for myself when I started my site. I had planned on narrating classical works, and perhaps even my own. It wasn’t a lofty goal that was on daunting heights, but rather something that I could work towards. Something that I could build on, and work on as I get myself settled into an online

review of an invisible sign of my own by aimee bender
Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
LOVED Mona. She is so incredibly in her own world, selfish, perceptive, anxious, realistic, delusional, manic-pixie-dream-girl, truly a walking contradiction. She wants for so much, has a lust for life, while simultaneously being the biggest quitter on the entire planet.
Her relationships with others are beyond interesting because of all this aspects of who she is and I adore it. Her gritty, filthy desire for her crush while being totally ruled by her fear of intimacy and (subsequentially) guilt, is beyond real.
Overall, I've never read about a more unreliable source/ unlikeable MC that I enjoy to such a high degree. Mona is just so girl, I've never felt more connected/ protective of a character in my life.
Not to mention Bender's witty language and impeccable dialogue throughout the entire novel. Her prose and undercutting whit is absolutely lethal and delicious. The whole read was a fever dream and I viciously miss it since finishing.
