🌈 Big Gay News, Digital Pride is back! 🌈

We've been hosting It Gets Better: A Digital Pride Experience for LGBTQ+ youth since 2020, because:

Not everyone has a local, in-person Pride celebration.

Not everyone feels comfortable or safe being out and open in public.

LGBTQ+ youth can't always access in-person Pride resources or IRL community.

This year, we're spotlighting a lineup of streamers, gamers, and creators on Twitch who are using their platforms to support LGBTQ+ youth with their communities and raise funds for It Gets Better.

From charity relay streams spanning tournaments to queer proms, activations with longtime brand partners, and our closing Chosen Family livestream packed with gift exchanges, GRWMs, and real talk about allyship and activism — we hope this encourages y'all to speak out and support LGBTQ+ youth with us in the online spaces they already call home.

We'll be updating our IG with stream schedules and updates all throughout the month so you can join the celebrations live, so follow us there and on Twitch!

I went to buy a cookie and they asked if I wanted a box and I said no, I'm just working one of the tents outside, and so they gave me the cookie for free because Solidarity.

Ok so I went to my first ever pride today and only then did it really click just how STUPID online pride discourse is

I saw like 3 fully bearded people with their tits half out. Good for them tbh they looked great

Atleast 4 queer Bible study groups were advertising, and this was a small pride parade too so it was definitely noticeable

A good chunk the people there were either on the older side of middle-aged or elderly

There were only like 3 booths that had kinky stuff, but it was all very polite, 2 of the 3 had like things that mostly covered the products so parents could make sure their kids couldn't see, it really wasn't like "oh there's penises everywhere!" You would just kinda walk up to a booth and realize that there's just a whole corner of bdsm gear. One of them was even handing out condoms which was kinda cool I guess

I saw a woman wearing an omnisexual pin and a man wearing an ally shirt with their 2 small children and they were having a great time. Nobody cared in the slightest and tbh the kids were adorable

All of which are things I have seen so many people make a fuss about, and I just. You didn't have the space to make a fuss about it irl cause there were too many people at every single booth having a great time! So, to anybody who sees this that has yet to go to a pride event but sees a lot of discourse online, it is all so so so much stupider than you could ever know. Like, I'm sure I still don't even know they half of it

It's almost Pride Month and I'm soooo excited! I have THREE Events lined up in New England! 🏳️‍🌈

This Friday: Troy Pride Night Out!

Come one, come all, to Troy Pride Night Out in Troy, New York, this Friday evening, June 20th, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.! There’ll be shows and crafts, food and vendors, and some kickin’ after parties, too. You can learn the deets about Troy Pride Night Out! on their webpage, here. The vendor logistics are being done with A Big Gay Market, more than 60 awesome Capital Region (and beyond!) creators coming to share what we do – Duck Prints Press included, obviously! I feel bad for the homeless genderfaun person I met on the street two days ago when attending a pride event. They had just been kicked out and lost everything. I knew it was genuine because I didn’t see them the first time I got there and they were crying, cold and truly scared.

I gave them one of my 5$ bills so they could get some food and warm up.

Unfortunately I didn’t ask what their name or pronouns were either. But I did introduce myself.

I mean, even if they weren’t queer, they still seemed very feminine and I know how bad homelessness can be for us.

My parents sadly did not approve of this kind act but they’ve been acting strange lately so whatever, I don’t really care.

My teachers also abandoned me which sucks, but they had thought me a lot of wise words and that even if someone is homeless, it doesn’t always mean they are a bad person.

Except for the pedophiles, they suck and stole my money.

But I do hope that trans person is okay, wherever they are.

Today’s the day! Scarleteen’s annual Pride is here to celebrate Queer Care and fill your timeline from 9 AM to 9 PM CST with great reads, fascinating histories, and chances to connect with other queer and trans folks!

We’re keeping our live chat open all day if you want to come for advice, support, or opportunities to learn more about what young people experience when they use our services. 🏳️‍🌈🎉

9 AM CST: An AMA on our message boards and Reddit with Scarleteen queer, autistic, trans/non-binary, ace-spec, and kinky volunteer Ellie. These AMAs are both a chance to get to know the folks who make Scarleteen great AND a chance to just talk with a diverse array of other queer and trans folks, something it’s not always easy to find in person.

11 AM CST: Our queer, agender, disabled and relationship anarchist founder, Heather Corinna, will be on our message boards and Reddit for an AMA! Come chat with us on Bluesky about what Queer Care means to you.

if you're in the denver, CO area, come visit @littlerobberboy and i at the Underground Pride Fest 🌈🌟 we vended there last year and it was an absolute blast! this year there are loads of amazing musicians and performers (stream Celestial Wizard) as well as tons of super talented artists and artisans vending the event. you'll be able to pick up any of the earrings currently in my etsy store, and get first pick of way, way more designs that haven't been added to the online shop yet (as well as a few new stickers 👀)

we're also planning on donating 10% of our proceeds to Palestinian relief efforts (probably directly to gofundmes most in need at the moment) and personally i'll be donating all of the profits from sales of any lesbian pride stickers directly to Emily Gwen
